Court Church Innsbruck

Mentioned on
Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
The Hofkirche is a beautiful catholic church with a silver chapel. It was commissioned in 1553 by Ferdinand, who enlisted top artists of the age to create it. Emperor Maximilian's empty sarcophagus is an amazing German Renaissance sculpture.
The roomy hall church is dominated by the beautiful cenotaph of Emperor Maximilian I with its 28 bronze statues, larger than life. The 24 beautifully carved white marble reliefs depict scenes from Maximilian's life, on which one can spend a lot of time admiring the rich details. Very impressive, a must-see.
Wolfgang Laun — Google review
If the church was free I would likely give it 4 stars for its good audio guide or just to have a quick wander through as you can see it all in about 15-20 minutes (30 if you go very slowly), but removed one as 8 EUR didn’t feel like great value for money. The church was built to commemorate Maximilian I tomb, but his body evidently lies elsewhere per the brochure/statues map. The 28 statues surrounding it of his family and people admired are beautiful and detailed, and a bit unique for a church, as is the adjoining chapel up the stairs. Facility wise there is a cafe and clean toilets, which is a plus. But not worth 8 EUR as a standalone attraction.

Great place to visit in Innsbruck, I liked it place, would like to be here again, maybe in wintertime
Oksana Pudlyk — Google review
Stunning church, a must see in Innsbruck. From the outside you would never know what ws inside! One museum ticket gives you access to lots of places, all for €12. Once in the courtyard we got a little confused how to enter the church, as the doors were all shut and unmarked. We found it in the end though.
Rosie Free — Google review
I have to be honest: why do you need to pay 8€ to visit a church with some statues inside of it? To me it doesn't make any sense at all! However, if you are under 19 it is free to enter. What I suggest is, if you are a family, not to enter everyone, but just the ones who can enter for free, so they can make pictures and then they can show you how it is inside, since, again, it is not worth the price
Andrea Nori — Google review
Beautiful church attached to the Tyrolean Museum. The tomb for Maximilian is really cool with all the the life size status surrounding it. While I was there a gentleman was playing the organ in the small hall on the second floor
Dan Alldridge — Google review
The 'black men' statues are great and an interesting story about why they shouldn't be there. Worth visiting. We got the joint ticket for the Tirol museum next door (where you enter the church and buy the tickets) - free with the essential 'Innsbruck Card'. Museum also good, some great dioramas and old farm tools (really), and recreations of Tirolean homes. You can easily do both in an hour.
Chris Dent — Google review
As you see the most interesting part are the iron carving statues. If you look closely, every statue has its own theme and story. The detailed carvings and detailed work is impressive. Imagine doing this on Iron casting. The rest of the church is also impressive.
Suchir Kumar — Google review
Love all the bronze sculpture in this palace. Very appreciated all the fine detail that's goes into the bronze crafts. Besides the bronze work, the church and the museum next to the main hall is also a must and not to be missed. Make sure to leave plenty of time to look around this palace else you will miss out on some of the fine detail 🙂
Katethip Varanyuwatana — Google review
Really impressive tomb, statues, and carvings. Not very big, so I would not recommend buying a ticket just for this. I would buy either a museum pass or the Innsbruck card which entitles you access to more places, to make this worthwhile
Dale Chapman — Google review
The Hofkirche, also called, Court Church is a Gothic church located in the Altstadt (Old Town) section of Innsbruck, Austria. Required tickets to go in and let you take pictures without flash.
Terrence Au — Google review
Ridiculous money gouge. For the amount of money asked (9 euro, I think) this is just not worth it considering the gorgeous free churches you can experience that are not -10 below inside. This church was full of locked areas with no access, a pile of construction material on the second floor and no seating or prayer stations in the majority of the church, including in it's spartan and depressing so-called Silver Chapel. Included photos of all the locked areas. Absolutely avoid this rip-off.

Specialty Museums
The AUDIOVERSUM - ScienceCenter is a modern science museum that provides an immersive and interactive experience for visitors of all ages. The museum focuses on exploring the world of sound through multimedia installations and exceptional exhibits. It offers a variety of fun activities that can keep visitors engaged for at least 1-2 hours. The highlight of this exhibit is walking the plank atop a skyscraper, which takes you into a new and exciting world.
We had a great time at this museum! Spent much longer than we expected, but that’s what you get for paying too much attention to each exhibit 😄
Olga Wollmann — Google review
Amazing experience! It is a interactive museum in the field of listening. Detailed description of each every possible hearing aid and world of sound. Totally worth the 💰!
Nitin Rajendra — Google review
There are a large number of interactive games, but they are interesting mainly for children. I liked the game Balance the most. A similar exposition in Vienna in the House of Music is much more intense
Marina Vladimirovna — Google review
The kids/ teens (age 12 & 15) really enjoyed all the interactive exhibitions. They even said themselves that it was way more interesting than they expected, which is high praise coming from teens.
Nina K — Google review
Best museum in town. This exhibit is so interactive and fun. It takes you into a totally different world. A world we sometimes forget about… Total highlight: walking the plank atop a skyscraper.
Alexandra Gina Edwards — Google review
The Audioversum museum in Innsbruck is a must-visit for anyone interested in the science of sound. The museum is well-designed and modern, with cutting-edge technology that makes learning about sound a truly immersive experience. From the physics of sound waves to the psychology of hearing, the exhibits cover a wide range of topics and are sure to fascinate visitors of all ages.
Roland Yeghiazaryan — Google review
Had a really good time here learning about how unique of an individual I am, as well as the ear/hearing exhibit. Recommend visiting if you have a spare/bad weather day in Innsbruck
Henry Jackson — Google review
The loud environment makes it difficult to experience (hearing) each part of the exhibition. The information in English was incorrect on one panel telling people falsely that they are colorblind, the receptionist knows about it but no correction is being performed... The guide in French is not up to date on the numbering of the sections. It was missing some material to experience parts of the exhibition. Interesting concept and rare exhibition but I was expecting more maintenance and higher quality.
Régis Deschamps — Google review
Meh It was okay, the music stuff wasn't all that interesting or new. I think it is more for kids, but seemed marketed to an adult crowd. Some of the attractions didn't work, the bird one in particular.
Patrick B — Google review
It is a very interactive place they have a lot of fun stuff to do and you can easily spend 1-2 hours here. The place keeps you engaged throughout. A perfect place to bring back the kid in you.
Pranav sk — Google review
This is one of the best place I visited. The people who don't like much historical things like old museum then this is the place where you can actually spend lot of time. Will come to know lot of audio science as well nice devices on ground floor to identify the personal score in BMI, jumps, other strengths and psychological analysis. It's better to buy public transport day tickets with many attractions..
Ashutosh Rajadhyax — Google review
Great audio visual science museum. Well worth the visit, we had free entry on the Innsbruck card. We chose a rainy day to have a look at it and we're in there for around two hours
huw baynham — Google review
Very interesting kid focussed museum. Lots of hands on interactive exhibits. Easy was to spend a few hours..
Paul Hogarth — Google review
Concept ok, though many of the interactive devices were not working, but the main complaint is the complete absence of hygiene: headphones and VR glasses are just shared among all visitors. Maybe a coincidence, but got an eye infection the next day
Alex Trusk — Google review
We had a great time spending about 1-2 hours of our afternoon here at the museum. The exhibitions are super interactive and engaging even for adults.

Very Boring, poor interactive equipment. I love science but have never been so unengaged. Staff were nice though.

Fortress Hohensalzburg

Mentioned on
Fortress
Museums
A huge, 11th-century fortress complex on a hilltop with breathtaking views over the city to the Alps is an unforgettable visitor experience. The fortress also offers one of the largest Medieval castles in Europe, with an exhibition space of over 335,000 square feet in 50 buildings.
Great place to visit when in Salzburg. You can walk up but we chose to take the funicular railway, which was fun. We bought the €13 basic ticket which was good value. It gives you return trip on the funicular railway as well as entry into most of the small museums. Museums were wonderful lots of interactive exhibits and easy to understand explanations. Great for kids and adults alike. A must visit when in Salzburg.
Karen Edwards — Google review
Absolutely amazing and a romantic experience! The short train ride up to the castle was fun. The views from the top looking down over this romantic little city was breathtaking. Inside the Fortress were highly interesting exhibitions. Great food and friendly staff. Just perfect for couples and families with children. Can't wait to go back.
Eva Leidenberger — Google review
Spent our last few hours in Salzburg hiking up to the Fortress. It was a great way to spend the morning. I really enjoyed learning about the centuries of change the fortress went through. I would recommend walking up, so you get a really good idea of why the fortress was so strong. The hill is long and steep. Seeing the three different gates makes a big impression as to the strength of the place.
George Sorrells — Google review
Amazing views of the area from the fortress. We would have loved to have a bite at one of the restaurants as the views from the tables were stunning especially on such a beautiful when we were there. There are a number of attractions to see in the fortress, some for additional cost. It is worth the time to make your way up.
Bill Lakie — Google review
This castle is amazing and so large! On a rainy day, it is still a great option as an ax activity for the day. There are so many museums inside. I would also highly recommend walking the Panorama Tour at the top for a beautiful view of Salzburg. Paying for the Basic ticket to take the funicular to the top, walk the panorama tour, was highly worth it even on a rainy day!
kelly schofield — Google review
This is an excellent tour with lots to offer for the price you pay to enter. The funicular up the hill is fast and fun. The fortress is in impeccable shape with several interesting museums that catalog the development and use of the fortress from medieval times through WWI. There is even a small puppet museum too. There are great views of Salzburg and the surrounding valley. We had a great time.
anthony scott — Google review
A must see if you're visiting Salzburg. Great for adults and kids (I took my 10 and 13 yr old). Definitely get tickets for all areas. It cost us 49 euros for a family of 4 and you get access all areas. The walk to the top of the prison tower was great! Views were amazing. The condition this fortress is in, is unbelievably good. Definitely get the funicular train to the top, it's excellent. Could do with better sign posting to help you get around better and maybe some more staff on site, so we can ask questions. Overall, a brilliant experience and well worth doing.
Andy Thorne — Google review
Lovely day out, there's a train to take to the top (and back). Amazing views from the top. We paid for all inclusive day ticket but the museums weren't that interesting inside. Absolutely beautiful castle though!
Hanna Cooper — Google review
Seeing a true middle ages castle, along with the lifestyle, customs and ruling of it is truly an amazing experience. The castle features a lot of stuff: from sightseeing at the top of the keep tower, to how peasants were imprisoned in the dungeon and how the castle was built, history around it and a museum. This has been a big dose of history for me, so for any enthusiasts out there looking to learn a bit of history during their trip, i totally recommend this place.
Andrei Oprescu — Google review
A place full of history. A castle that was never conquered. Several stages of time and many stages of tools and weapons. The view is amazing and it is very organized. You need plenty of time to see everything and it deserves. I really enjoyed and visited everything, however I haven’t read everything as this will make you spend a full day there. It is a must see place in Salzburg.
Wajdy Shalghin — Google review
What an amazing medieval castle perched above the city of Salzburg. There's a free guided walking tour in the morning for a bit of history and to get your bearings of the castle. There are many exhibitions and useful information around the castle. There's a spectacular view of the city and make sure you don't miss the organ which plays everyday at set times.
Alex — Google review
I spent €10.80 on a basic ticket. It is a "must visit" attraction if you are interested in taking photos. But if you are interested in history if the fortress, you may find a bit disappointed with the description as some of them are in German only.
Egbert Lai — Google review
We used the funicular to get up as it was a very hot day. Great views over the city and an interesting walk around the fortress. We ate at the panorama restaurant at the top of the funicular and the food was delicious. It suddenly became very, very windy just as we sat down to eat which of course, stopped not long after we finished our food! We had the Salzburg card so admission was free.
Natasha Panagiotopoulos — Google review
An imposing structure that sits proud above Salzburg. We spent a very pleasant hour ambling around the outer portions of the building. We did not try the museums as we were running late, but just walking around was interesting, and they had some fun little diversions around that the kids could try. There were some stunning views across the city to the mountains, and weaving and winding stairs and corridors. We took the funicular railway up and down (which in itself was fun) and added to the experience.
Charlie Kinloch — Google review
We visited this place on a Tuesday morning. We took the bahn to reach the fort. The entry was free because we had Salzburg card. It was not crowded in the morning, with time there was lot of people. It was an interesting place and has a great view of the city. The staff inside the place were very helpful and guided us well and also made us register for contract tracing. There is also washroom in the place which is well maintained. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.
N S — Google review
Very different fortress, as big as a village itself. The carriage ride to take us to the castle on top of the mountain was a fun part itself. The original palace goes back to 370 AD. The castle has been extended and renovated many times trough history. There are magnificent royal room on top of the castle. Worth visiting for sure.
M A — Google review
It definitely exceeded my expectations. I have not been everywhere inside, but I can assure you that the castle is really big. Most of all, I was struck from different sides of the site and beautiful views. If you are interested in seeing the whole of Salzburg, then this is definitely here. Also inside there is a considerable castle courtyard.
Roman Trach — Google review
Good views and interesting history around how the castle was made. There's a funicular up and down and you pretty much need the full ticket with all the add-ons to experience the castle fully.
Manoj Sunny — Google review
The castle is very pretty, panoramic views are highlights of the tour. The history of Salzburg described well with the model demonstrations. Funicular tickets to be purchased at the start, which serves the round trip. Best to visit during morning time as the number of visitors are less, can spend around an hour or 2 exploring castle.
meghana bhatt — Google review
Must visit in Salzburg. The funicular was short but still fun. The view from the fortress is marvelous and it gives you a good perspective of the city of Salzburg. The place also has a museum, view tower and some restaurants. Overall it was a fun EXPERIENCE and educational.
Maria Rita Tan — Google review
The fortress is spectacular. It dominates the city from afar and as you get closer you realize how massive it is. Loved the ramparts walk, the museums. The view from atop is just breathtaking especially on a clear day. You can see the Alps surrounding Salzburg and a cool view on the city as well. The fenicular is included in the entry price, so you can ride down to the city after the visit. I recommend hiking up, using the trails from the north side.
Radek Dabrowski — Google review
Visited in November during the off-tourist season and enjoyed a hassle-free experience with no long wait or need for reservations. The fortress provided stunning views and was a delight to explore. Highly recommended!
Amber Calloway — Google review
Very nice castle with a lot of information and things to visit. Children will like it! Also the view from the tower is awesome. You should consider to take the train to the top and then walk down the hill. The cable train is nice.
Jens Czaja — Google review
This is a must if you're visiting Salzburg. The fortress is one of the most characteristic places in the city. It is very well preserved, with a lot of museums and rooms to visit. It also offers an amazing view above the city. I really enjoyed the many snippets and videos scattered around the place. They provided a lot of historical anecdotes and gave us some glimpses of life back in the middle ages. You can reach the fortress with a funicular or on foot. I recommend walking up there only if you have the endurance for it. The trail is quite steep at times. I also recommend booking the tickets in advance online. There are always a lot of people going there and having already the tickets drastically reduces the wait in line.
Dan — Google review
It's worth visiting this fortress. There's so much you can see here and learn more about the history of Austria. The views from the fortress are breathtaking. The entry fee is €18 per person. After you have bought the ticket, you can take the shuttle train to get to the fortress.
Marina Trencheva — Google review
Great place to visit. What they don't tell you until you climb the big hill to get there is that it costs to just get in the grounds. Its worth it just for the views though to be honest gazing over the alps especially during sunset was lovely. I would recommend a visit if in Salzburg for a stay.
Philip O'Mahony — Google review
Easy to spend 1.5-2 hours here. The views are spectacular, and museums mostly good. State Rooms: They are beautiful (particularly ceilings and walls), but I hadn’t realized there were only 3 rooms to see. Interesting but only took 5 minutes to see. Main museum: An interesting mix of general history and historical life, but found the super basic English signs to be distracting. (They sound as if they were written for 5 or 6 year olds.) Regimental Museum: An interesting 6-8 rooms on military history in Salzburg given the regiment based there, particularly focusing on 1800-1918. Marionette museum: Two rooms with about puppets with signs in English, German, and Italian. Cute but in and out in 5 minutes. Purchasing tickets is easy either online or in person, the this ticket will need to be scanned before entering the funicular and various museums at the top. Toilets were quite clean in/near museums. Cafe: Service wasn’t great whilst waiting but nice to have option.
Becky T — Google review
This castle is beautiful enough to be said to be artistic. We can not only know the architecture of that time, but we can also know the culture of that time by seeing the castle and the building of castle. We can enjoy a meal, looking at the downtown of Salzburg from the restaurant in the castle. I recommend that you enjoy it with enough time.

Untersberg

Nature & Parks
Mountains
Untersberg is a stunning massif located on the border of Germany and Austria. The area features numerous peaks, trails, and large caves that are perfect for exploring. Standing at over 1900 meters high, it offers breathtaking views of Salzburg's iconic mountain range. Accessing the summit is made easy with the availability of a cable car ride; no expert climbing skills are required.
This was an amazing experience. We visited on Sunday 25th June 2023. We took bus 25 from Salzburg train station. It was a beautiful and scenic bus ride. The Untersberg is the last bus stop. We bought 2 up and down (return) tickets for €56. The cable cars run frequently, every 15 minutes. The staff got in the car and shut the door, and off we went. It takes approximately 8 minutes to get to the top of the mountain. It gets bumpy when you get to the cable stations. The views are amazing. I was scared but I totally enjoyed it. When we got to the mountain, we walked up to the top of the mountain where there is a big cross. We could see the top of other mountains, and had a clear view of the city of Salzburg. We even saw a plane take off. The view from the top is amazing, the air is so clean and fresh. It was totally worth it. I fully recommend this experience.
Fantastic Eve's Adventures — Google review
My visit to Untersberg in 2018 left me in awe of its majestic beauty and provided an adventurous escape into nature. While I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, I would give it a solid four-star rating. Untersberg's breathtaking landscapes, towering peaks, and lush greenery presented a picturesque setting that was truly awe-inspiring. The panoramic views of the surrounding Salzburg region were simply breathtaking, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and hikers. The cable car ride to the summit was a thrilling adventure in itself. The ascent offered sweeping vistas and a sense of anticipation for what awaited at the top. However, I would have appreciated more information or commentary during the journey to enhance the overall experience. Exploring the trails and paths on Untersberg was a delight. The well-maintained routes catered to varying fitness levels, allowing visitors to choose between leisurely walks or more challenging hikes. The tranquility of the natural surroundings and the invigorating mountain air offered a welcome respite from city life. The staff at Untersberg were friendly and helpful, providing guidance and recommendations for the best hiking routes. Their expertise and willingness to assist added value to the visit. While Untersberg's natural beauty was undoubtedly its highlight, I found the lack of amenities and facilities slightly disappointing. Limited dining options and restroom facilities could be inconvenient for visitors, especially those planning to spend a significant amount of time exploring the area. In summary, Untersberg is a nature lover's paradise, offering stunning vistas and exciting hiking opportunities. The cable car ride and the majestic landscapes are highlights that make the journey worthwhile. However, a more informative experience during the cable car ride and improved amenities would have elevated the overall visit. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Untersberg to those seeking a memorable outdoor adventure and a chance to immerse themselves in the wonders of nature.

We visited during December. Great for Snow in winter. There were short queues for the cable car. In summer it looks like a cool place to go for walking. The staff at the cafe is not great and clearly they have had enough of tourists. The shop at the top of the mountain only accept cash. Make sure you have enough as it is quite expensive from our perspective. Make sure you also get a seat early. Staff at the cable car awesome and friendly.
Raoul A — Google review
Date: 27/09/21 We took a public bus No. 25 from Vienna city centre to Untersberg (last stop). Then cable car up to the top. Originally wanted to hike down but the cable car staff said it is not recommended to hike down that day because the weather was not very supportive. Apparently it will take at least 2-3 hours to hike down which time we did not have then.
Popo H — Google review
What an incredible experience this was. Probably one of the highlights of our trip to Salzburg, Austria. The cable car took us up and then we hiked around. It was beautiful! Amazing views of Salzburg basin and surrounding areas of the mountain. Highly recommend!
Heliana Mano — Google review
There are the most beautiful views from Salzburg's iconic mountain. It is over 1900 metres high, and there is a cable car available to access the views without being an expert climber. Look at the reviews for Untersbergbahn. The summit is about a kilometre up from where the cable car leaves you. It is steep and rocky but walkable in proper footwear. Our ten year old could manage it without problem. Untersberg has a legend of a sleeping emporor living inside the mountain with lots of little people, waiting for the day when ravens stop flying around the summit so that he can awake from a curse and rule over a peaceful empire.
Leelee Q — Google review
I don’t give 5 star reviews on principle - that usually indicates fake reviews - otherwise I would - I’ve taken many cable cars - in Switzerland, East Asia, USA - and I would say this is the best I’ve taken - if like a mile of first suspension, then you go over the pylon and whoop dee doo, and again at the third pylon- all the while going wow at the views as you ascend this sheer cliff face. My ears popped three times going up. At the top, feel free to walk to the next mountain top- it’s only about another 100 m vertically up a loose rough pathway- my partner balked and I’m glad she did - but there’s two other mini- peaks you can enjoy tremendous views from. I’d never heard of this place and only found it on TripAdvisor’s things to do in Salzburg - and I’m real glad I did. Choose your weather - we came up on a beautiful sunny 22C day - brought a jacket on advice - the top was cool and in cloud - luckily it dispersed and we enjoyed glorious panoramas over Salzburg and the surrounding valleys - an eagles nest view- with friendly yellow beaked ?ravens who will land on the fence six inches away from you- bring food ?

The monastery Erzabtei / Stift St. Peter Salzburg is a beautiful place of worship dating back to the 7th century and it features a cemetery, catacombs, and museum. It is one of the oldest still existing Benedictine abbeys in the German-speaking countries and is home to only 18 monks.
This was my very favorite church & cemetery! And I LOVED the catacombs too! So much history. Incredibly beautiful church with all the paintings. Amazing!
Backpacker _Hiker — Google review
Insanely beautiful and majestic. A must visit in Salzburg in my opinion. The church and chapels you can enter free of charge, the catacombs you need to pay 2 euros for. I also recommend going into the catacombs because you get an amazing view of the whole abbey from there it feels unreal.

Majestic art, paintings and ornaments. There is absolutely nothing to complain about it. And a very important tip for people travelling around on a budget. IT IS FREE. But please, leave some spare change or make a good donation as the place is really well looked after. You'll find graves of archbishops from the city close to the front of the cathedral and more downstairs. Also places to pray, but if you are not religious like myself, there is no problem, everyone respects each other in a very peaceful way
Henrique Vargas — Google review
I really enjoyed this area. It has the oldest Abbey in Europe dating back to the 7th century. The oldest church we couldn't go in. But you can peek thru 2 man-made holes in the door. The church is surrounded by cemeteries, adorned with perennials and flowers. There are other cemeteries at the periphery with statues and paintings. Then there is the catacombs. The only thing you pay for here in the St. Peter's Abbey. Just 2 Euros or very inexpensive. Nothing compared to Italy's catacombs. The catacombs I'd actually say should be called "chapel". There were no skulls or skeletons. And no mannequins to indicate where people where buried but it's amazing to see. It's actually built onto the side of a mountain wall. There is also a beautiful church ( you can go I'm this one), a great little seen restaurant and Christian shop. DEFINITELY a must see this area in Salzburg!!!

"Small, simple and peaceful" This is a lovely Abbey and one were we sang one piece for no audience. The architecture is stunning and some of the sculptures are truly amazing. There is no fee to enter and unlike the Dom you can expect it to be quiet. The cemetery attached is amazing - graves so small - people must have been tiny in those days.

Stopped by here at the end of our hike up to the castle and mountain, and it was excellent! Everything from the service to the views, vibes and drinks were lush 🥰

This is a phenomenal place. I don’t know what’s up with people giving this place bad reviews. We landed for dinner during peak season (August, with the Salzburg Festival in full swing). The wait staff was excellent and friendly, the view was unbeatable, and the food and wine were excellent. I would go here to spend some time, and not rush it and use it as a cafe.

nice location and view. service is OK not so great. pricy and compare to price service is very basic. separate place for food and only coffee. so technically they are capitalizing their location.
Dewang Panchal — Google review
You pay for the view here and the prices reflect. It's not a bad restaurant, food is cooked well, service is fine, but it feels like it lacks a little wow factor. If you are a tourist looking for lunch/dinner with a view may well be worth a shout, but expect to be impressed with the view, not the menu or food sadly.

Beautiful place with one of the best view in Salzburg. Only be here for a company party but I can tell the service and atmosphere are top! Would love to be back to try the food and its normal service!

the view is simply amazing. Not much liked the restaurant as their behavior was quite picky. But the view is just breathtaking. Hike up there from the given path not necessarily a place to enjoy food quality.

Great location, great view. Good food and service. A little bit pricey. Would definitely recommend.

Mountain cable car
Restaurant
Gaislachkoglbahn Bergstation offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. To reach the top at 3048m, visitors can take a cable car from Solden to the middle station and then transfer to another one. The fare is around 30 euros per person for a one-way trip. The landscape is rocky and bare initially but becomes forested after reaching the middle station.
It's a really good place from which you can admire the breathtaking panorama all around you! The landscape seems quite lunar, at least in the summer, but when it snows it becomes so bright you'll want a good pair of sunglasses, even on a cloudy day! You can also see a heart-shaped lake, which is kinda funny and nice at the same time🙃

The first part up to the middle station is mainly rock and therefore bare. A very nice view. After the middle station you go into the woods. This is something you should not miss as a nature lover and hiker. You walk through a forest where you feel like you are in a fairy tale. If you don't want to walk as far as we did, walk from the middle station (about 2 hours). Make sure you wear good shoes because it is sometimes very steep, especially from the very top to the middle station. Take a map with you because it is sometimes not clearly indicated by the signs. Below you can park for free in the parking garage opposite the cable car. At the top you can also watch James Bond Elements. Several film recordings were made here for the film Specter. We did not do this because it costs 22 euros PP to enter.

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant Oniriq is a fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Innsbruck. It is run by Austrian chef Christoph Bickel, and specializes in inventive vegetarian fare. The restaurant has a sleek industrial look and feel, and the food is consistently praised for its fresh and tasty flavors.
I had a very good experience with my partner. The quality was at a very good level regarding the dishes coming out of the kitchen. Consistently tasty dishes highlighting a few regional ingredients made the meal very enjoyable. Compliments as well to the sommelier who delivered a great personal experience. The wine pairing was very good as well, but what really delighted us were a few of the creative and tasty creations on the non-alcoholic pairing. All this combined to make an evening we will remember for a while.

This review has been in the work for far too long! My wife and I have been guests in February: had a good day and a reservation for the night: our evening was the best restaurant experience we ever had! EVER! The friendly and professional service, the calm atmosphere made our occasion extraordinary, until the food arrived: we had the 7 course tasting menu (I had meat and fish, my wife vegetarian) with 1 bottle of wine, which was great pair to ALL our dishes. The whole menu was designed, presented and served with love, care, passion and professional competence! These made our night unforgettable, truly an amazing experience!! We had wonderful time which we will cherish forever, it really was as the name says(onirique in french means dream)!! We also would like to thank everyone who worked that night (02.22.2024) all their hard work and congratulate for their success: You all truly are amazing people and we wish you all the best and may your efforts be rewarded!! Thank you for making us fall in love again!! Péter

Unique/delicious food, impeccable service, very quiet and enjoyable environment. The team seems to enjoy working with each other. Two people with drinks and tip came out to be €650, which is very much worth the pleasant experience.

What a great restaurant! We had a real Michelin-star experience… we selected the vegetarian menu with the wine pairing. A real good chef will show his master-excellence by challenging vegetarian dishes.. the creative presentation on the beautiful Rochini chinaware and the excellent austrian wine selection in The ultra fine and thin Rochini (Zalto-like) wine glasses added to our wonderful evening… we were impressed by the superb efficient and discreet service with a passionate sommelier.. an exquisite gastronomic dinning experience!

Honestly the best dinner experience I’ve had in Innsbruck, from the sommelier, the chefs, the waiter, it all just made sense. Very professional, kind hearted and the best food I’ve tasted in Innsbruck. Would 100% recommend.

Just great! Super creative take on local produce with a really delicious finish! Sommelier had almost exclusively austrian wines which was a really pleasant surprise! Oh yeah, not only was it great, it was the vegetarian tasting menu too! Tailor made for vegetarians, not just adapted!

They was bringing food sooo slow every 20 min or even more slow. I was so hungry portions was small like a little finger portion. And eating this small thing every 20 min thats WIERD I didn’t enjoy it at all ! Price/quality/service doesn’t worth it :( Especially such a dinner for 1000€ for 2 people! We didn’t get any full I not recommend

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant ice Q offers an incredible dining experience with one of the most breathtaking views in the world. The prices are reasonable considering the location and quality of meals, featuring traditional Austrian and Tirolean cuisine made with local ingredients and cheeses. The stunning interior design complements the professional yet friendly staff. Guests can enjoy complimentary appetizers, delicious soups, perfectly cooked Wiener schnitzel, and a delightful cheese platter.
The Vista: a view overlooking snowy peaks and slopes drenched in bright, warm sunshine. Heavenly💙. Location: It is only a short hop and skip from the station, this means admirers of dramatic landscapes or non skiers/snowboarders can walk to it. Advanced booking is essential, however we were lucky that day, a kind hostess not only accommodated us but gave us a table by the window. As for getting highly coveted tables on the stunning terrace/sundeck, now that's another story. Ice Q has a sleek and chic atmosphere, enhanced by the seamless, attentive service and remarkable food. On the menu, a selection of tempting classic with modern twist Alpine dishes. We happily tucked into unique and exemplary cuisine whilst simultaneously admiring the breathtaking vistas. I enjoyed the Apfelstrudel with Vanilla Ice. Expect to pay around €100 plus for a good lunch without wine or go for Chef's Table.

Incredible restaurant with literally one of the best views in the world! Considering the location, and quality of the meals, the price is extremely reasonable for what you get. Features traditional Austrian and Tirolean cuisine, and has stunning interior design with an extremely professional staff, yet still friendly and accommodating. Uses local ingredients and cheeses. Absolutely worth the experience, that both locals and guest from around the world enjoy. It’s worth splurging on!

Amazing restaurant! The view from the restaurant is incredible and the owners did not take this for granted and also made sure the food and drinks offerings are top quality. Best thing about it - the price was not at all exorbitant and I would even say really good value given the quality of the food, the amazing location of the restaurant, and also very good service! It made the ski day in Sölden extremely enjoyable.
Ian Tay — Google review
Perched on the top of Sölden, the cafe and restaurant here are a perfect spot to take a break after a few runs. The panoramic views are splendid and the food and drinks pretty good (and probably the best amongst all the restaurants on the mountain). Prices are on the steeper end given the location but by no means unreasonable. Definitely worth a stop even if it’s just to grab a cake or drink.

Party of 5 friends, taking a break to enjoy a special meal, rather than the usual fair offered in ski resorts. I have been here a few times, almost once a year since it opened. I have always found the quality to be 'top notch'. Today I enjoyed Starters for my first and second courses ( the photos) Beef Tatar, followed by Venison. Dessert was Tiramisu. All super tasty, beautifully presented and could not be faulted. The drink was a G&T. Spectacular views when the whether is clear (not so today) easy to get to and from via gondola if you don't want to ski down. A must if in Sölden. On Wednesdays they have an evening dining experience. Must book if you don't want to be disappointed.

Food was extremely delicious. They gave us an complimentary appetizer. Rye bread with butter, some sort of sauce, and a coleslaw. Soup hit the spot on a cold day. Forget the name, but it had a dumpling and was salty and tasty. Wiener schnitzel was cooked to perfection. Cheese platter, 3/5 cheeses were to our liking. Our waiter was great and the view was awesome. Definitely pricey, but I would say combined with everything worth it. If you want a seat right by the window put in a reservation. We walked in at 1120 without a reservation and had a seat on the inside. If you are there to drink you can do the lobby on the side or the top for great views

They have a very nice environment and an awesome landscape. The food is very good, but the desserts not so much. The prices are high, no doubt, but it is the kind of place that you pay for the experience.

Food: 5/5 Panorama: 5/5 Staff: 3,5/5 Would I go there again? Definitely. The food was excellent, nothing surprising, it actually matched my expectations at the given price point. Other restaurants in such heights ('gourmet' ones as well) often take food less seriously and try to make up for it woth their eye-catching views. The ice Q, though, has high-end food and a majestic panorama! The pricing is definitely on the higher end but relatively modest compared to other gourmet restaurants around Austria. I actually ended up paying less than expected (including tips, of course:), and would go there again when I am in Sölden again. The staff is what gave me mixed feelings about my experience, now don't get me wrong, they were all very polite and understanding, but ended up taking an unusually long time to serve and take away used dishes, even when asking them to do the most minor tasks it took them minutes on end. I like to think that I am no spoiled person, but I really felt like the service I had received at any gourmet restaurant I have been at before was better than this one - despite the ice Q being almost empty at the time of my meal. I hope their staff becomes more attentive to their customers next time I go there. The chef made a great impression, despite not having directly interacted with him, especially when a servant brought me a nice little plate with the 'chef's greetings'. Enjoy!

Great experience for me. Restaurant on 2nd floor has an amazing view. They have in front a big terrace. On 2nd floor they served only Taps menu. Of course drinks, dessert and other too. Tapas Menu which i had it was amazing for eating and looking too. It is more expensive, but with the View I think it is ok! Let's go enjoy.

Lovely location above the mountain. We went to their Lounge and enjoyed their homemade Sacher Torte (a Must if you are in Austria 🇦🇹 it’s the famous layered chocolate cake with peach jam. The cake is originally from Vienna)and the Schwarzwalder Kirsch Torte(Black forest cake). We also enjoyed some well prepared drinks with our view. We enjoyed the Portwine spritzer and the Ötztal beer. They also have a wonderful restaurant underneath the terrace with a star kitchen and 5 to 7 course menus. We will definitely return their for a menu. If you wanna dine their it’s recommend to have a reservation since it’s really popular. The service was excellent and the food and drink quality was really good as well. Make sure you stop here for a refreshment or a hot drink to warm up.

Absolutely fabulous experience. We'd booked into the 007 experience in the morning and had booked lunch at the Ice Q restaurant (which is next door) at Midday. There's actually outdoor seating for skiers but skiers were also dining in the main A La Carte restaurant, really lovely relaxed, yet luxury experience. The wine list was extensive and the food menu was Austrian, traditional with a modern twist. We were given a complimentary appetizer. As a starter we had soup, which was delicious. For the main I had the salad (adding chicken) which was delicious and my partner had the vegetarian spinach ravioli, which he loved. For desert we had the Apple Strudel and cream (which was divine)! Beautiful views of the mountains around us, the 007 experience building and the top of the ski runs. Would definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant. Definitely book in advance and if possible book at table by the windows as there's lots to see.

Yes. If you think going the answer is yes. And on Wednesday evening. Nice view and menus during the day also but the Wednesday night menu with private gondola ride and stuff are really something else. Live music, perfect atmosphere, awesome service also in English. Costly but you're eating fine-dining in 3000 meters.

Ice Q restaurant is incredible. The building itself is stunning and it’s surrounded by dramatic scenes of the Austrian alps. We visited Ice Q to celebrate our wedding day and the staff went above and beyond to make our day memorable. Due to unpredictable weather conditions in the alps, we had to move our wedding a day earlier which they accommodated without hesitation. The staff liaised with our florist and alleviated any stress this change could’ve caused. From the moment we stepped into Ice Q we were greeted with so much warmth. The food was a work of art and paired beautifully with wines that were chosen by their knowledgeable sommelier, Tobias. Tobias led us on a gastronomic journey, explaining each dish as they were served. Tobias made our day even more special. He engaged with our party and really looked after us during our visit. We absolutely loved Ice Q and cannot wait to return for our anniversary.

We stopped for a quick drink and dessert, and it was delicious. The prices are higher than other restaurants around, but probably is because of the location at 3000m. Except the fact that a guy from the staff was a little rude, everything was ok.

Located on the 12th floor of the aDLERS Hotel, the weitsicht Restaurant offers an unmissable and hidden gem in Innsbruck. Boasting a 360-degree view of the picturesque city, this establishment specializes in Tyrolean cuisine infused with aromatic flavors from all around the world. The duck served here is exceptional, with remarkably low levels of fat. The attentive staff also provides excellent wine recommendations.
The duck here was stunning and somehow had very little fat on it. Staff were great and recommended some excellent wine. The cloud bread was also a great starter and I loved the chocolate martini as I have a very sweet tooth!

Our meat was chewy and not good, the vegetables that came with it were sour and kind of funky in taste. The risotto also had too much salt. The desert was okay, not specifically great, not bad. We were not all too happy with our dinner, also because it was quite pricey for how it tasted. Even if the service was very friendly and the atmosphere good, can sadly not recommend, at least for the dishes we had.
