Cappadocia landscape is very beautiful. Lots of fairy chimes and ancient dwellings. You can walk through time and imagine how people in the time of Christ and before lived farmed and survived this landscape

I would give it 3 because it was edible, but they were out of almost everything and what they served was very tough to eat and they seemed very disinterested in us. It was a sad way to start our trip!
Liz Dietrich — Google review
So much to see and learn. This is a Christian orthodox outdoors museum. All of the churches is located in a walkable hill. You are not allowed to take pictures but you can go in and see the frescoes of the epoch in which they were painted X century). One church to visit specifically is the number 4 (5 in total). However, it has an additional cost (15 lira). But it is worth it. The winter is a rough time to visit but if you dress warmly, it’s doable.
Salua Kamerow — Google review
These stunning photos were captured from Goreme Open Air Museum. This museum isn’t far from the city center of Goreme. It has a entry fee. Some of oldest churches can be found here inside the cave. This place is both historic and world heritage site. It takes around 1 and 1/2 hours to tour this open air museum.
MM Opel — Google review
Spare at least 2-3 hrs to explore this place. Pictures speak better than words for this place. Tip: Photograph is not allow inside the cave. Do pay extra to visit the main cave. The fresco paintings there are in supurb condition.
T Tangkoskul — Google review
Goreme Open Air museum is one of the top "to dos" while visiting Goreme. It consists of several churches and houses dug on stone. It is incredible how some of the paintings are still well preserved after centuries. The entrance costs 54 TL and allows you to see all the open houses and churches with the exception of the "Dark Church" for which you'll have to pay extra 18 TL. Outside the museum are several other caves than can be explored.
Bruno Ribeiro — Google review
Fascinating natural beauty along with history. It is a UNESCO accepted open air museum since 1985. Many churches, temples, kitchens are open for visiting. Some are closed due to restorations. The cafe is nice to try Turkish coffee inside the museum.

This review is both in english and turkish. Turkce degerlendirmem asagidadir. English: Wow.. This was beyond my expectations. Beautiful rock formations and small churches, living places carved into those. Some of the churches still has beautiful frescos intact and some of them is lost due to some vandalisms and aging. Taking photos of the churches even without flash is forbidden except a very few of them. This is not a must see place this is the See or Dont even come to cappadocia place in my opinion :D It closes at 19:00 and the tickets are available til 18:00 pm. The pricing differs but usually the admission fee is 45 turkish lira but you can purchase a full day museum pass for around 70 lira and visit all the museums in the area. Fascinating! The views there are truly beautiful. There are those holes that people lived in the 20th century, and they are fascinating. There are churches (albeit with the faces of the paintings scratched out by the Muslims), houses, even a mosque. It is a truly fascinating place to be.
Daniel Black — Google review
Went there for a very quick walk. Little far from the places I have stayed. I walked. 20 mins. Beautiful winding road and street shops are enjoying. Apx 20 mins walk and then the main gate. The ticket was 54 Turkish lira and without the audio. This place reminded me Canadian Bad land or Egypt's valley of king or valley of the queen. A must go place but with ample of time

Uchisar Castle

Mentioned on
Fortress
Nature & Parks
Uchisar Castle is an ancient fortress perched on a rocky pinnacle that boasts stunning vistas of Cappadocia. Regarded as the tallest fairy chimney in the area, it offers an unparalleled panoramic view of Uchisar village and nearby hamlets. Visitors are required to pay a 20 TL entrance fee to explore this remarkable structure, which presents limited attractions inside.
Wow! This is one the amazing place in the world. It is very fascinating to be able to see them in person. In my world just amazing to this creations 😊 I think winter is not really the peak season and there is no cue and tou can easily get the ticket which is great but cold. It is worth it guys!

Nice place to visit in Cappadocia region. Suitable for visiting with children, but not too small. There are many places where you can fall, fail. But at the same time it is very interesting to climb the caves. Entrance costs 50 TL per person. It's basically not expensive. There was no queue at the cash desk at all, given that it was a weekend. Not far from the entrance they sell dried fruits, I highly recommend trying mangoes.
Sofiya Stavyts'ka — Google review
A nice little find (however unavoidable from sight it is when driving past Uchisar!). We went semi early and had the entire castle and summit to ourselves. Lots of steps so it’s a nice little warmup for the day, and spectacular views from the top. I imagine watching the balloons or sunset from here would be incredible.
Dean Webber — Google review
Cool place and pretty big. Can see it from far away. Nice 360 degree view from the top where you can see faaar into the distance. There's a fee to enter - think it was 150 lira when we visited in July 2023.
Nicolaas Geldenhuys — Google review
Great views, easy step’s throughout to reach the top, we caught a blustery day so the strong wind at times made it a little harder but nothing to put us off going right to the top for some spectacular views. A couple of nice terrace restaurants and cafes nearby which I have reviewed separately. Entrance Ticket was 250 TL pp, to be paid in cash. Yellow taxi on meter from Goreme town centre was 150 TL, same price for return.
Thomas Goldby — Google review
Visited the castle today, it is the highest point in Cappadocia. The views are impressive from the top. The cost was 50 TL, takes maybe 30 - 45 minutes to see. If in the area we would recommend checking it out. There are steps to the top, easy climb, not disable friendly 3btraveler
Greg Johnston — Google review
Another great place to visit if in Cappadocia. Parking nearby is cheap (10TL in Aug 22). Wear trainers and be prepared to scramble a little. 50TL per person for entry (museum cards are not allowed) but it is worth it. Allow at least an hour, more like 90 mins. Views from the top are great, but scrambling among the caves provides great photo opportunities too.
Paul and Karen Blakesley — Google review
Lovely castle to visit. You can get heart shaped stone photos~~~ need to climb stairs to view the entire town. Begining of April not crowded yet, ticket price included in tour packages but needs to take taxi/ drive here as no public transport.

Amazing experience visiting the uchisar castle. It is just as fascinating visiting the surrounding areas where you can see the cave house and even visit one. Entrance fee is 100TL that leads to the top of the castle. You will need to be a little bit fit to walk up.,.
Dhennver Ng — Google review
So, to climb up you have to pay 120 lira/ person. You get a lovely view. If you go there in the evening you also can catch a nice sunset. I went there in the early morning, at around 5:30 am and i could watch the balloons.
Koshelnik Alina — Google review
Beautiful castle with caves inside, you have to climb a lot of stairs to go in the tip, and before that if you can't find parking nearby, which in our case we couldn't find more inclination, so be prepared to walk. Overall, it was a good experience. The cave rooms were cold. The entrance fee was 250TL for non Turkishs.
Misbah Sulman — Google review
Another remarkable site that seems to be from a Star Wars movie. This tall volcanic-rock outcrop is one of Cappadocia's most prominent landmarks and visible for miles around. The centuries-old citadel is located on a rock spur. At the top, you can see amazing panoramic views of Cappadocia.
CK Cheong — Google review
What a nice castle 🏰 ! To begin with, the rock castle is easy to reach. Whenever you are there you have to pay 20tl as entrance fee. You go in then you start to discover it step by step. Not too much to see inside the castle itself, on the other hand you see a panoramic view of Uçhisar village and the villages nearby. You have to climb a view steps then you'll reach its top their you must enjoy the breathtaking views and I strongly suggest taking photos. To sum up, I strongly suggest a visit to this marvelous place
Nabiel Ekhraimia — Google review
Breathtakingly strange and a ton to explore! We didn't pay admission into the castle, but walked around it and explored the valley below. Once we reached the end of the valley, there was a bus stop with buses to Göreme and Nevșehir (10 Turkish Lira per trip). Many vendors, restaurants and toilets available. It's a must-see, just take comfortable shoes.
Maryk? Steyn — Google review
My recent visit to the Uchisar Castle will be appreciated by any history buff or traveler looking for a fascinating blend of natural beauty and historical narrative of the human existence within the rock formations. This “castle” is an iconic rock formation turned fortress that serves as the highest point in the region. The panoramic view of the enchanting landscape it offers is nothing short of spectacular, providing a 360-degree vista of the surrounding valleys, villages, and fairy chimneys. Don't forget your camera, because I found literally 100s of opportunities to for breathtaking photographs! Dating back to Byzantine times, the Castle has stood as a story of the region's history. Its labyrinthine rooms and passageways are carved directly into the volcanic rock, creating a unique maze that you can explore. It's fascinating to think about the many generations and civilizations that have taken shelter here. Would recommend to wear comfy shoes to fully appreciate this Turkish gem in Cappadocia.
Sa Sh — Google review
The highest point in Cappadocia. Beautiful view from the top, but there is not much apart from that. The “castle” is more a rock formation used for defensive purposes. It seems to have different opening times compared to other attractions or museums, I guess people like to visit early to see sunrise and the balloons.
JR Suarez — Google review
Great views - but not necessary to go in - interpretation is pretty poor. If you’ve done an underground city, you’ll not find anything new inside the castle - can be avoided. Also there are places inside where you can slip - so please exercise caution. The views are still great though and you can finish in about 45 mins. I’d have liked some interpretation for this place
Vinay Nagaraju — Google review
The castle is located in Uchisar, a charming village about 15/20 minutes from Göreme. We took a local bus, departing every half hour from the main square in Göreme (at minutes 00 and 30), and you can buy the ticket directly on board for 25 Turkish lira per person (less than a euro). The castle, carved into the tuff, is truly unique and majestic. The entrance fee is around 4 euros. However, it's essentially empty inside, and the disappointing part is the lack of explanations or traces of how people lived there. It would have been fascinating to learn more about its history. Nevertheless, the panoramic view from the top is breathtaking, and it's enjoyable to explore the castle, discovering the intricately carved rooms within.
Samantha — Google review
The view from the top is absolutely magnificent and it is a very nice castle although I wish there was more information about the castle. There was basically no info at all for what which rooms might have been used and even the general info was very shallow! Maybe with a tour guide who knows that stuff it would be more interesting but like this it is nothing more than any of the other caved out structures in the valley, only taller
Sebastian Kindermann — Google review
Uchisar castle: We arrived here in the afternoon. It’s quite good to experience from outside. You can take pictures as much as one can. The whole place is inhabited by local people. It takes hardly thirty minutes to have a good idea of the complex.
Atis Basak — Google review
Astonishing view. And many restaurants and coffee shops around. Mostly romantic ones. We enjoyed our time taking photos. It's free. No entrance fee.
Karim D. — Google review
The castle is very historical, however the let down was the overall set up with very poor information available for visitors, in particular, international visitors. The ticket fee was 250 Lira and like what many said, the best part was the view. Though there were plenty of rubbish bins within the grounds, cigarette butts were occasionally seen. The lack of contextual information translated to a lacklustre visit to what I expect is a very magnificent location especially in terms of history. The end outcome was a visit that felt very similar to wandering through one of the many abandoned cave homes in the region. *N.B. we did find one sign with a bit of information though the sign was hidden behind the entrance door! We also later found a QR code for an audio guide tucked away and unfortunately did not readily have internet access nor did we spot it until our exit! The latter info is attached here I hope future visitors will benefit.

My visit to this on 9 Oct, was nice and great here. Good place for aerial view photos of the Uçhisar region and surroundings. In the parking area many souvenir shops and food to eat and buy. I do recommend visiting this place if possible during sunrise or sunset maybe for great photo images. You can follow me on Instagram ID mystry_scrt

No words. Out of this world. It was super cold. We could see the snow on the mountains around us. We bought a Gozleme from a lady making them in a cave inside the mountain. Another amazing highlight of Cappadocia.

Fairy Chimney Inn

Guest house
Fairy Chimney Inn is a unique and breathtaking guesthouse that is carved out of tufa rock. It offers converted caves as accommodations with a complimentary breakfast. The balcony provides an exceptional view of the balloons, giving guests an experience in their own private cafe. The place is surrounded by kind and calming hearts, with thoughtful touches of beauty everywhere you look, including the delicious food. Furthermore, all rooms are magical and clean, making it feel like a warm "home away from home.
Absolutely breathtaking. The most unique accommodations I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The balcony provides the best view of the balloons; this place is like your own private café. You're surrounded by kind, calming hearts, and thoughtful touches of beauty everywhere you look (even down to the delicious food.) Everything is beautiful. I had the special opportunity to see several of the rooms, and I can assure you, each level is more magical than the last. I don't leave reviews often but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to tell others about this whimsical, clean, warm "home away from home." Teşekkürler.

Gorgeous place the rooms are all unique and gives you a real cave experience. Not all rooms have bathroom attached some are separate outside the room. Great location for views but at the top of a narrow steep road . 10minute walk into the centre would definitely stay there again

Authentic experience of living in original carved caves. The owner was more than accommodating and made us feel at home. Stayed at two other cave hotels (Sultan and Hera). This was our favorite.

Very nice place but ugly manager. We were walking around goreme late evening, looking for nice hotel for staying next time. The door was open and we entered inside. There was light in reception room and the big dog slept but nobody around. We were making pictures and looking around. In 5 min a men went out to us saying something like 'yes, please' and we said we are just walking around. We wanted to ask about prices and rooms, but did not have time, cause he started saying in rude manner 'go away, its late time, midnight, u can't be here for walking, it's my house'. We were asking like why so rude, we look for a place to stay and bring groups, and the door was open. And he was like 'get out, I will call police, dont need u and ur groups'. And do raughly and rude, feels like will fight us if we say something more. Its not usual for goreme, they are always welcome day and night. This attitude is not adequate. Not sure such kind of speaking is normal for tourism sphere. And any other shpere at all.

Peri Bacalari is a well-known state park that boasts stunning and magical rock formations and cave dwellings. The landscape is truly awe-inspiring, with love seats and heart frames dotting the area for perfect photo opportunities. However, visitors should be aware of littering issues in the park, as well as limited amenities such as cafes and stores that are not fully developed yet.

Cappadocia Turkey beautiful place to visit and get experience of it. I love the historical city with lots of things to see.

These are naturally formed chimneys and good for an evening walk and nothing more! I feel the tourism is just making any random spot as tourist attraction and extracting money out of tourists. The ticket to enter is 65TL and to be honest this should be totally free of cost. If you visit love valley these fairy chimneys are clearly visible in a better way! Waste of time and money, unless you are a nature lover and want to see something new.

With or without the hot air balloons, this is such a scenic place to visit. The landscape is breathtaking. Little love seats and heart frames are great for taking pictures. But there is a lot of litter lying around. Stores and cafe are not as well developed or attractive as other areas. Young sellers who don’t know much about customer service. My advice: Visit take your pictures and leave.

An extremely picturesque sunset point and cafe. The view from this place is simply mind blowing. Specially if you are here at sunset or sunrise time. The entire area gives a mind blowing view of the tall mountain chimneys along with the clear sky which changes colour almost every minute during the evening. The Turkish restaurant Topdeck Cave is a must-go for anyone visiting Goreme. It's built into one of the famous caves and has a unique atmosphere that makes it perfect for a romantic dinner or simply to get away from the crowds.
Top deck is definitely a tourist destination, Every table was a traveller from somewhere. That didn't take away from a great setting and delicious food. The manti and lamb were delicious and there was a great selection of wines for a decent price. Worth a look, definitely reserve a spot.
Adriel Reddy — Google review
The food is good, but overall I am surprised that it has the top spot on Trip Advisor, granted I haven’t had the time nor experience to find a restaurant that was better. The mezze is outstanding, great flavor, fresh and wholesome. The vegetarian main dish is fairly bland and there is little in terms of selection, even more so for vegetarians. I would recommend adding some nuts or cheese for texture and profile. The lamb main was good although nothing that would make me come back. The salad is packaged and again it would be helpful to spice it up a little with a stronger pomegranate molasses and again some nuts or cheese would go along way. The highlight was the special dessert, although over charged in comparison to what was stated in the menu it was amazing. Poached “queen’s fruit” (quince) with cream. Overall the meals and service were good it just feels as though it wouldn’t take much for it to be outstanding.
Alexander Funnell — Google review
I simply can't recommend this place enough. We visited in the off season so were lucky to be accommodated as a "walk in". It is my understanding that during the peak season, booking in advance is essential. Up to 3 days in advance I believe. I can totally understand and see why this is the case. The food is fantastic, the staff are excellent at their job and the atmosphere/ambience is incredible. When recommending a place, the main question I always ask myself is "Does it represent value for money". Our evening here completely exceeded my expectations and was extremely great value for money. PS try take a table/seat at floor level, best and most comfortable seats in the house 😃👍

Had an awesome dinner here. Feels like eating home cooked food. Not many options to chose from but whatever I tried was splendid. The design of the restaurant makes you feel like eating inside a cave, a traditional thing in the area. In addition, the staff was really helpful.

Super excellent meal - loved every bite. Make reservations in advance as the place was filled and had to turn folks away. Photos of the food don’t quite do it justice because of the dim lighting - but it was delicious.

Make sure you make a reservation at this delicious restaurant. We had our hotel help us with a reservation time. Each dish we got had different flavors and textures to make it an enjoyable meal. The service was great and we greatly enjoyed our dinner here. Highly recommend!

We ate here with my father a couple of weeks ago. The restaurant is cozy. It was quite cold and rainy/snowy the day we went, and they had a fire going in their unique fireplace. We had a reservation and ate at a regular table (they also have lower tables and fancy, large floor cushions). We all ordered main dishes: rolled chicken, stew, and manti. Each of us absolutely loved our tasty, well-seasoned dishes. If I'm back I'm Cappadocia later this year, I'll return here for sure. Highly recommend this spot for a unique experience.

Amazing food and excellent service. The lamb dish and beef were amazing. Prices are so reasonable. The food and flavors were so unique. I also loved the mixed mezeplate which had twelve different mixed starters. Everything was amazing and I recommend highly to everyone and anyone.

MUST GO! Please make a reservation because they are so packed all night long! But do not turn up too early because you will just end up waiting for your reservation time. One can understand why because the food is just comforting and tasty! There isn’t a lot on the menu, but everything we ordered was just yum - signature of a good restaurant!
P B — Google review
Came here for my birthday dinner given the good reviews. Super busy small restaurant in a cave setting. We luckily had the floor seating which was cool. Known for their mezze platters with 7-12 varieties depending on the sizes based on the reviews. We got the dinner platter with 12 items which were ok. Nothing out of the ordinary and the pitas were not fresh. The chicken main dish had a nice sauce made with mustard and wrapped with thinly sliced veggies. Service was efficient but felt rushed and impersonal.

What a great restaurant! This was not only my favorite meal in Turkey but one of my favorites of my entire 5 week trip. We went on a Monday and if it weren’t for them being closed on Tuesdays we 100% would have come back for our final meal before heading home that evening. As another comment mentioned everyone in the restaurant were tourists, but everything about it felt very authentic. The service was great and the food was delicious. The Baklava and Turkish ravioli was my favorite! We booked a few days in advance for a 7:30pm dinner and the tables were fully booked while we were there, and we saw quite a few people come in and have to leave as it was busy, so do book in advance so you don’t miss out.

Great experience! The atmosphere and the place itself were fantastic. Set inside a rock, reminiscent of the typical buildings in Cappadocia, everything was decorated in the typical Turkish style. Guests could choose to sit in chairs or on the ground covered with cushions. The food was truly flavorful and delicious, and the prices were cheap.
Alberto Pérez — Google review
Luckily they had space for our walk in group although it appears many make reservations to ensure a seat. Restaurant remained full throughout our time there which is testament to the quality of the food! A simple menu but executed well, we were quite pleased. Getting there was the only difficulty since you might think you're lost walking down a quiet and seemingly abandoned alley, but worth it!

The food & atmosphere & service was really A+. I tried their lamb dish with rice and the meat was so tender and seasoned so well! *drool*. The interior was so pretty too! Staff were all very family. Heard it’s a family run restaurant. Place had THE cleanest of all the restaurant toilets I have visited in Turkey! Haha. The price- well you have to know that you are in the center of a very touristy area so can’t complain about paying extra. It’s expected but I didn’t think their price was outrageous.

One of the best meals we had in Turkey. We’d tried to get in the night before but they were (understandably) fully booked, so we booked in for the following night. The mezze plate was full of delicious dips and the lamb parcels we had for starter was a real highlight for me. So crispy and hot and flavoursome. We had the chicken for main which was covered in a really tasty sauce. Very kind staff, who surprised my mum with a birthday cake and sparklers! A lovely evening.

We stayed 4 nights in Göreme and tried different restaurants every night. This was a lovely surprise and probably the best restaurant. The food was beyond delicious, the ambiance was very cozy and intercultural, the waiters were extremely efficient and friendly: the place was full and everything came very quickly. 10 out of 10!

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Topdeck Cave. The food was simply delightful, and the Turkish atmosphere added to the charm of the evening. The service was impeccable, making it a true 5-star restaurant. For starters, we enjoyed the meze, which was a delightful array of flavors. We paired it with some local wine, which complemented the meal perfectly. As for the main course, my wife had the chicken, and I had the lamb. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Overall, Topdeck Cave exceeded our expectations in every way, from the delicious food to the warm ambiance and top-notch service. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic Turkish dining experience. We'll definitely be returning!

Dibek is a traditional Turkish restaurant located in the heart of Goreme. The restaurant serves both lunch and dinner, and is popular with travellers for its delicious food and warm atmosphere. Reservations are recommended, as seating can be limited. The restaurant has a full bar and free wifi.
This place is delicious! Even if it’s a little pricier than other restaurants, you can feel the difference in the dishes. For example the pottery kebab is very delicious and you can definitely spot the difference. (You should make a reservation of this dish beforehand). The place is very cultural and it takes you back to their history. The house wine is very tasty and they serve it in a very interesting clay pitch. 100% recommended!

Overall 4/5. Food is 4/5 service is 5/5. The restaurant is the corner of the main street and once you enter the staff is very friendly snd will show you to your table. You will have to take your shoes off and sit at the table - sitting down traditional style. The mezze platter was great and highly recommended. It is served with bread. We then got the pottery kebab and it is worth a try. The chicken one was great, cooked to perfection and must try. The aside dessert is traditional and made from flour.

I would return for the great tasting food, but maybe only in colder months. We were there in the second week of June and we were sweating in the heat of the restaurant. It made eating very uncomfortable. It would be a 4 star if they were honest with us. We asked if we could dine on the rooftop bar as it was excruciatingly warm and uncomfortable at the restaurant and they said it’s a different menu and kitchen. We went up after dinner for dessert and drinks and found out the menu is the same. For those wanting to try this place, just ensure you ask them to turn on the air-con (though they may bring out the fan) or just opt for the cooler alfresco environment at the rooftop.

We came here because it’s recommended. The pottery meat needs 2 hours to cook so reservation is needed. We love it. The meat is very tender and vegetables are delicious. The potatoes are good. But it could be better if it has a bit more flavor. The house wine is very good. Dining environment is unique and they have fireplace. I would definitely want to come back here again.

We tried this place 3x. It was closed on a Sunday. Closed for lunch and finally went back for an early dinner. Food and service was great. Only thing I did not enjoy is that the only dining option is sitting on the floor. One did say authentic - what better way to experience but to sit on the floor. The best dish I had in this restaurant is the dessert- Katmer! It was amazing . Flaky, not sweet and soooo good!

Good food; I think one of the better places in Goreme. The pottery meat kebab was tasty. Vegetable pottery kebab was fine. Ambiance was good. I personally doesn’t like to sit on the ground, but that’s just my thing. So be ready that there are no chairs, just pillows and low tables. Prices a bit on higher end, but expected because of the location …

The Local Taxi man recommended this place to us after visiting the Imagination Valley. It’s very close to the bus station and it’s actually quite hidden. We never would’ve visited if it wasn’t for him. We highly recommend this place as it’s beautiful on the ground and rooftop terrace floor. Service is very good, food was delicious, and most importantly, we enjoyed our time here.

Very tasty dishes. The place itself is full of history and the restaurant setup gave us the anatolian vibe we were looking for. For the pottery kebab we made a reservation 4 hours earlier. It was delicious!

I’ve tried pottery kebab at several places before i came here, i have to say this place has the best pottery kebab in Cappadocia. The meat was very tender and flavourful. The portion was enough for 2 people. The meze plate was also delicious . We finished everything that was on the table. For me the price was reasonable. You can’t expect good delicious food comes with a cheap price.

Great atmosphere, and very good food. Seating is on the floor, with pillows and very comfortable arrangements. The testi kebabs were very good, and so tender. Highly recommend :)
Thea Holtlund Jacobsen — Google review
Authentic Turkish dinning experience, the meze was delicious and we then had the lamb which was very nice. Sitting on the floor whilst eating was a fun experience and added to the authentic atmosphere and interior of the restaurant.
Paul Wood — Google review
We came here being told that the food was exceptional, as we entered being the only customers as it just opened half the lights weren’t on. And the ambiance wasn’t there. There was a real authentic feel sitting on the floor whilst we dined with the decor but unfortunately the prices of food was high but the taste was nothing amazing. Not sure if it was worth it in the end

Friendly, prompt service. We both wanted the pottery kebab and they were able to accommodate us. It was delicious! Try their homemade red wine — it’s great! Would recommend. Lovely cozy ambience with traditional Turkish seating (cushions low to the floor).

We were a bit confused when we did our research regarding this place. Although top of the list in many webs it had a lower rating in google maps. We had a lovely experience. The food was great, the homemade wine was really good and it was really nice to sit in the floor and experience the local style. It’s true though that it is more expensive than other restaurants of the same or higher quality in Goreme.

The Pumpkin Göreme restaurant and art gallery is a cozy, rustic spot in the heart of Goreme that serves up delicious organic meals. The menu changes every day, but is always made with high quality ingredients. The terrace is a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing.
What a gem. We went in expecting some good food and ended up having the best food we’ve had in Turkey. Several vegetarian options and the set menu come with a very nice soup, salad and delicious dessert. Everything is well presented and fresh + the staff is really helpful and efficient. The owner was busy in the kitchen but made sure he came to speak to every guest in the restaurant. Overall, an outstanding and dinner and excellent value for money!

Extremely disappointed. The menu was not extensive, not a lot of traditional Turkish dishes and so expensive. The food was okay but not exceptional. They are MANY more restaurant in Göreme where you can have more food, a view and a better experience for the same price (or less expensive). I just don’t understand people who kept going there? Maybe they just didn’t try anything else? I really don’t see the hype about it. I rarely write review about restaurant I visit, but I had too for Pumpkin. It was just so disappointing. I really wonder if the reviews are fakes or if they bought them.

Really good food and excellent relation price quality and quantity. The staff was so kind. Highly recommended the vegetarian dish and goat milk ice cream as well as homemade baklava!! Best restaurant we have been in Turkey.

I love this place from the food down to the services. The food is so good and the prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly and very good. I would recommend the set menu for a very lovely dining experience.

We got the set menu that comes with a soup of the day, seasonal salad, for our mains we got the lamb & beef pottery kebab and the turkish ravioli and baklava for dessert. The food was amazing, the best food I've had in Turkey. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant itself is cozy.

Fine dining but casual restaurant, the staff is really nice, and the owner whom I chatted a little bit with is a really welcoming man. The ambiance is beautiful overall. The platters I tasted are amazing and I'd recommend anyone to try them. I started with the pumpkin soup which was much needed in the freaking cold weather! Then I tried the lamb course, it just melts in your mouth! And I ended with their ice cream made of goat milk, this was a first for me, and surprisingly it tastes too good ❤ if you're in Cappadocia, you must try Pumpkin restaurant and art gallery⭐

The food was nice and the staff really friendly and accommodating. The menu was not too extensive and the dishes not as memorable as in other places. Nonetheless, the meat was good and seemed fresh.

Inflation has hit here, as everywhere, and the prices were more than the menu posted a year ago by a user, but it is well worth it! The lamb and beef kebab was delicious, and the presentation impressive. Portions are huge. My wife and I could have easily shared a set, but the variety was also worth it

Lamb shank cooked to perfection 👌 Every dish we tried, especially the burgle/walnut treat, were standouts. The owner of this place was nice enough to give us two for the walk back home after we told him how much we liked them (pictured). A beautiful and welcoming host in the truest sense. Get in early if you’re planning to go without a reservation - the place fills up quickly after they open. Oh get the goat milk dessert - great for those who don’t like something super sweet!

Loved it so much we went 2 out of our 3 nights in Goreme! The Turkish ravioli is to die for, as is the pesto pasta! The chicken pottery kebab was incredible! So tender and a very exciting dish! The service was fantastic also. Couldn’t recommend more! They gave us a delicious started on the house, made with tasty spices and lettuce and fresh bread also. Love this spot!

We had a wonderful time, chatted a bit with the interesting owner and some of the staff, enjoyed the cute dogs and most importantly had wonderful food. This is really a great place. We tried several dishes and everything tasted really delicious. If we will ever be in the area again, we will definitely come back and can only recommend it. If you want to do something good for you, go to this place and enjoy.

Turkish restaurant
Old Cappadocia is a Turkish restaurant in the center of Goreme. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is quite relaxing and comfortable. They accept American Express, Mastercard, and Visa so it's convenient for those who have them. There's also a full bar so you can enjoy some wine or beer if you'd like.
The staff were very friendly. Food was served efficiently and presentation excellent. Staff member Zohra went out her way to make our dining experience memorable. The food was tasty and well presented. There was nothing left for the "doggy bag". Had dinner there throughout our stay in Goreme.

Had a great meal here. Very generous portion of starter was served while waiting for the main course. The chicken pottery was very well marinated and I loved it being served hot 🔥 it was autumn and the night can be cold so that meal just brought warmth to me immediately.

This place was the best restaurant we tried in Cappadocia. It was recommended by our Hotel's owner (local recommendations are always the best !!). The food was amazing. So delicious, warm and the meat was super soft and yummy. I highly recommend lamb meat !! The staff were really helpful and kind and they offered us warm bread with some appetisers.

Amazing food, quantity is great and taste is amazing! One of the best restaurants around the city centre. 2 of us had ordered wraps and Pizza, quantity was so much that we couldn't complete, that said the prices were very reasonable. Must visit for the experience of taste!

We really enjoyed dinner at this place. The food was good, the way they serve some meals is really cool (they served us one meal in a clay pot on fire). The atmosphere is nice, service was good.

Our visit to the Old Cappadocia Restaurant left us with mixed feelings and, unfortunately, a less than satisfactory experience. The first thing you notice about this restaurant is its size; it's quite spacious and bustling with activity. On the day we visited, it was exceptionally busy, which is usually a good sign. The staff, though friendly, seemed to be overwhelmed and short of help during our visit. They were constantly rushing around, trying their best to manage the high demand. Our order experience was less than smooth. The pide arrived promptly, but there was a significant delay before we finally received the pottery kebab. While the meat was tasty, it was on the salty side. To our surprise, it came with only two small spoons of rice, without any bread or salad provided. This left us somewhat unsatisfied, especially given the prices. Adding to our disappointment, we had to request bread from two different waiters and wait for an extended period before it finally arrived. The overall wait times and lack of standard accompaniments to our main dish were a letdown. Regrettably, our experience at the Old Cappadocia Restaurant turned out to be our least enjoyable dining experience in Goreme. While the food had its merits, the service and the overall dining experience fell short of our expectations, especially considering the competition in the area.

A cosy restaurant in the heart of the town. The attendants at the entrance who welcome you were a lot more friendly than the staff inside that serves you - could be a language barrier. Food was good, service prompt and attentive, the so called fresh lemonade wasn’t fresh but from concentrate, overall a good choice.

I can't say enough positive things about this place. The food, service, atmosphere, and price point can't be beat! I stayed in Cappadocia for three days and my biggest regret is not coming to this establishment more often! The restaurant is smoke free which is great for anyone with respiratory issues. The owner is very kind, humble, and well-versed with food allergies. I highly recommend making a stop at this restaurant. Their lamb shank is the best I've ever had in my life.

Great restaurant. We were received by Chef Berkan, and we chose a beef burger and a chicken sandwich, and it was served with fries. The place is intimate and warm, the food is delicious, and I liked the place
Najla Attamimi — Google review
Food was average, they only cook the meat when you order so rice and chips come cold. Needed to get them to reheat it. Food cost was expensive, however, everywhere in goreme is expensive.

Best choice out here in Goreme! We were greeted by the chef and he was so nice and welcoming! Service was great and fast! We tried some other restaurants in the area but none of them were as good as this one! Food was amazing! All in all I highly recommend this restaurant! In terms of prices, it’s pretty much the same as other restaurants or even less expensive.

We had the lamb kebab in pottery which tasted wonderful and had a great presentation. Although the bottle of wine was expensive, it was a local vineyard vintage 2017. Great pair to the lamb.

I arrived in Cappadocia late in the afternoon and this was my first meal in the city. It did not disappoint one bit. I got the Chicken Pottery Kebab and I've never experienced a presentation like that (image and video attached). Muhammed was great!! He even brought me tea at the end of my meal. The entire staff was friendly and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

(Translated by Google) The seats were pretty full. I think it was probably busy, so I probably waited more than 30 minutes from ordering to being served. It was quite long. I had a kebab wrap and it was just average. The pot kebabs that the people around me were eating looked delicious. The menu overall wasn't particularly cheap either. Is it possible if you want to go for kebab in a fire pot?

Cappadocian Cuisine is a popular Turkish restaurant in Toronto that offers delicious home-style food at very reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and family-owned, and the outdoor or indoor tables are always occupied by the charming matriarch. On the menu you'll find fresh clay pot casseroles as well as local red wines, all of which are reasonably priced. Reservations are highly recommended for this popular spot.
Delicious and great value! The moussaka and pottery kebab were delicious, and so was the lentil soup! The mains comes with salad and rice as well and it’s good value to get the set with soup as well. Happy, no fuss service and cost about £15 for 2 people.

A nice restaurant which serves a good variety of local Turkish food. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating. Prices are posted on the menu, ranging from 100 TL to 200 TL for each main dish. They have a set menu which includes soup, salad, rice with a selection of main courses. I didn't order the set menu, but it also came with salad and rice. It wasn't too busy at the restaurant when we went around 7:30pm during late October (low tourist season). Service was great as well. Overall, good food, nice and relaxing atmosphere with good service and reasonable prices.

Great place to dine in. Drove by this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Food tastes good, sitting outdoor in a cool weather is relaxing. All the dishes we ordered is great! Staff is attentive and we have a nice experience dining in this restaurant. The restaurant is not at the main road of Goreme Town. It is located along the small road and there are parking just outside the restaurant.

Would I eat here again knowing what I know? Yes. We had the set menu clay pottery meals; I had lamb and my wife had chicken. We both loved our meals. Also, the restaurant had a very generous poor for wine. This seems like a small family run restaurant. It is not high class fancy dining. But we really really like the atmosphere. If you found my review helpful, please let me know by giving me a thumbs up

We chose Cappadocian Cuisine due to its convenient location near our hotel, within walking distance. After a long journey, we were feeling exhausted and in need of a break. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Our first highlight was the pottery lamb dish, which provided a unique dining experience. I highly recommend trying it. Personally, I found the beef mousaka to be my favorite, especially when paired with rice and a refreshing beer. Our overall experience was pleasant, allowing us to regain our energy before exploring the center.

We have been in Cappadocia for three days, we have eaten here every day, one day we ate there twice. It is delicious! The owners are wonderful, kind, gentle people, and always greeting you with a smile. The food is top notch Turkish food. My favorite is just about anything they make, but would have to say my number one (if I have to choose) is their, Manti (Turkish ravioli). I have eaten Manti all over turkey and I must say theirs is the best I’ve had, it is homemade fresh daily and the yogurt tomato sauce is spiced perfectly. It is one of those dishes I will dream about until I come back. We haven’t had a bad meal there. Everything was superb! Reasonably priced. Attaching some photos.

You’ll notice I gave 5* for both the food and service, but only 1* for the overall score and atmosphere - which was because of the way I was made to feel after being told to finish my tea (after dinner) and leave because the restaurant was busy. I frequently travel alone, and have eaten in various restaurants around the world, but NEVER have I ever been told to hurry up and leave. Just for the record, I’m not one of those people who sits in a restaurant for hours - I eat and I go. I ordered a tea to finish my meal, and was nearly done when the guy basically kicked me out. I was in the restaurant for under 50 minutes, which I don’t believe is an excessive amount of time for dinner - especially when also taking into account the time you have to wait for your food to arrive. I also feel if I wasn’t a lone diner I would have been treated somewhat differently too. I made it clear to the guy I wasn’t happy that I was being asked to leave before I’d even finished my tea. He then told me to sit back down and finish, but at that point I no longer felt welcome and just wanted to leave. I went to pay (minus the tea) and he said quite angrily, “Ok, don’t pay have it for free!” I walked out feeling pretty awful. I’ve never not paid for my meal before, but then I’ve never been made to feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome either. So on this occasion I feel him writing off the bill (albeit begrudgingly) was just. Up until the point when the guy told me to hurry up and leave, I’d actually had a really enjoyable experience - the ladies who served me were fabulous, and the food was good. Needless to say I won’t be returning to this restaurant, and no I don’t recommend it either - unless you intend to hoover your food and drinks down in under half an hour.

We had a nice experience here. The lamb pottery (lamb stew in a clay pot) is tasty and the waiter helped us open it which gave us a fun experience. Manti (Turkish ravioli) has good dough but is a bit light on the topping imo. Portion is a bit small I think. It is a touristy place as most of restaurants in Cappadocia are but it gives you pretty good value and people are welcoming
