The food is good, but overall I am surprised that it has the top spot on Trip Advisor, granted I haven’t had the time nor experience to find a restaurant that was better. The mezze is outstanding, great flavor, fresh and wholesome. The vegetarian main dish is fairly bland and there is little in terms of selection, even more so for vegetarians. I would recommend adding some nuts or cheese for texture and profile. The lamb main was good although nothing that would make me come back. The salad is packaged and again it would be helpful to spice it up a little with a stronger pomegranate molasses and again some nuts or cheese would go along way. The highlight was the special dessert, although over charged in comparison to what was stated in the menu it was amazing. Poached “queen’s fruit” (quince) with cream. Overall the meals and service were good it just feels as though it wouldn’t take much for it to be outstanding.

I simply can't recommend this place enough. We visited in the off season so were lucky to be accommodated as a "walk in". It is my understanding that during the peak season, booking in advance is essential. Up to 3 days in advance I believe. I can totally understand and see why this is the case. The food is fantastic, the staff are excellent at their job and the atmosphere/ambience is incredible. When recommending a place, the main question I always ask myself is "Does it represent value for money". Our evening here completely exceeded my expectations and was extremely great value for money. PS try take a table/seat at floor level, best and most comfortable seats in the house 😃👍

Had an awesome dinner here. Feels like eating home cooked food. Not many options to chose from but whatever I tried was splendid. The design of the restaurant makes you feel like eating inside a cave, a traditional thing in the area. In addition, the staff was really helpful.

We ate here with my father a couple of weeks ago. The restaurant is cozy. It was quite cold and rainy/snowy the day we went, and they had a fire going in their unique fireplace. We had a reservation and ate at a regular table (they also have lower tables and fancy, large floor cushions). We all ordered main dishes: rolled chicken, stew, and manti. Each of us absolutely loved our tasty, well-seasoned dishes. If I'm back I'm Cappadocia later this year, I'll return here for sure. Highly recommend this spot for a unique experience.

Amazing food and excellent service. The lamb dish and beef were amazing. Prices are so reasonable. The food and flavors were so unique. I also loved the mixed mezeplate which had twelve different mixed starters. Everything was amazing and I recommend highly to everyone and anyone.

MUST GO! Please make a reservation because they are so packed all night long! But do not turn up too early because you will just end up waiting for your reservation time. One can understand why because the food is just comforting and tasty! There isn’t a lot on the menu, but everything we ordered was just yum - signature of a good restaurant!

Came here for my birthday dinner given the good reviews. Super busy small restaurant in a cave setting. We luckily had the floor seating which was cool. Known for their mezze platters with 7-12 varieties depending on the sizes based on the reviews. We got the dinner platter with 12 items which were ok. Nothing out of the ordinary and the pitas were not fresh. The chicken main dish had a nice sauce made with mustard and wrapped with thinly sliced veggies. Service was efficient but felt rushed and impersonal.

What a great restaurant! This was not only my favorite meal in Turkey but one of my favorites of my entire 5 week trip. We went on a Monday and if it weren’t for them being closed on Tuesdays we 100% would have come back for our final meal before heading home that evening. As another comment mentioned everyone in the restaurant were tourists, but everything about it felt very authentic. The service was great and the food was delicious. The Baklava and Turkish ravioli was my favorite! We booked a few days in advance for a 7:30pm dinner and the tables were fully booked while we were there, and we saw quite a few people come in and have to leave as it was busy, so do book in advance so you don’t miss out.

Great experience! The atmosphere and the place itself were fantastic. Set inside a rock, reminiscent of the typical buildings in Cappadocia, everything was decorated in the typical Turkish style. Guests could choose to sit in chairs or on the ground covered with cushions. The food was truly flavorful and delicious, and the prices were cheap.

Luckily they had space for our walk in group although it appears many make reservations to ensure a seat. Restaurant remained full throughout our time there which is testament to the quality of the food! A simple menu but executed well, we were quite pleased. Getting there was the only difficulty since you might think you're lost walking down a quiet and seemingly abandoned alley, but worth it!

The food & atmosphere & service was really A+. I tried their lamb dish with rice and the meat was so tender and seasoned so well! *drool*. The interior was so pretty too! Staff were all very family. Heard it’s a family run restaurant. Place had THE cleanest of all the restaurant toilets I have visited in Turkey! Haha. The price- well you have to know that you are in the center of a very touristy area so can’t complain about paying extra. It’s expected but I didn’t think their price was outrageous.

One of the best meals we had in Turkey. We’d tried to get in the night before but they were (understandably) fully booked, so we booked in for the following night. The mezze plate was full of delicious dips and the lamb parcels we had for starter was a real highlight for me. So crispy and hot and flavoursome. We had the chicken for main which was covered in a really tasty sauce. Very kind staff, who surprised my mum with a birthday cake and sparklers! A lovely evening.

We stayed 4 nights in Göreme and tried different restaurants every night. This was a lovely surprise and probably the best restaurant. The food was beyond delicious, the ambiance was very cozy and intercultural, the waiters were extremely efficient and friendly: the place was full and everything came very quickly. 10 out of 10!

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Topdeck Cave. The food was simply delightful, and the Turkish atmosphere added to the charm of the evening. The service was impeccable, making it a true 5-star restaurant. For starters, we enjoyed the meze, which was a delightful array of flavors. We paired it with some local wine, which complemented the meal perfectly. As for the main course, my wife had the chicken, and I had the lamb. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Overall, Topdeck Cave exceeded our expectations in every way, from the delicious food to the warm ambiance and top-notch service. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic Turkish dining experience. We'll definitely be returning!

Must visit restaurant in cappadocia. Very good food. Prices are somehow good for what you get. Very friendly people and cozy environment. We just loved the whole experience from start to finish. Recommend. Must visit! We paid around 60$ for 2 people.

Overall 4/5. Food is 4/5 service is 5/5. The restaurant is the corner of the main street and once you enter the staff is very friendly snd will show you to your table. You will have to take your shoes off and sit at the table - sitting down traditional style. The mezze platter was great and highly recommended. It is served with bread. We then got the pottery kebab and it is worth a try. The chicken one was great, cooked to perfection and must try. The aside dessert is traditional and made from flour.

I would return for the great tasting food, but maybe only in colder months. We were there in the second week of June and we were sweating in the heat of the restaurant. It made eating very uncomfortable. It would be a 4 star if they were honest with us. We asked if we could dine on the rooftop bar as it was excruciatingly warm and uncomfortable at the restaurant and they said it’s a different menu and kitchen. We went up after dinner for dessert and drinks and found out the menu is the same. For those wanting to try this place, just ensure you ask them to turn on the air-con (though they may bring out the fan) or just opt for the cooler alfresco environment at the rooftop.

We came here because it’s recommended. The pottery meat needs 2 hours to cook so reservation is needed. We love it. The meat is very tender and vegetables are delicious. The potatoes are good. But it could be better if it has a bit more flavor. The house wine is very good. Dining environment is unique and they have fireplace. I would definitely want to come back here again.

We tried this place 3x. It was closed on a Sunday. Closed for lunch and finally went back for an early dinner. Food and service was great. Only thing I did not enjoy is that the only dining option is sitting on the floor. One did say authentic - what better way to experience but to sit on the floor. The best dish I had in this restaurant is the dessert- Katmer! It was amazing . Flaky, not sweet and soooo good!

Good food; I think one of the better places in Goreme. The pottery meat kebab was tasty. Vegetable pottery kebab was fine. Ambiance was good. I personally doesn’t like to sit on the ground, but that’s just my thing. So be ready that there are no chairs, just pillows and low tables. The Local Taxi man recommended this place to us after visiting the Imagination Valley. It’s very close to the bus station and it’s actually quite hidden. We never would’ve visited if it wasn’t for him. We highly recommend this place as it’s beautiful on the ground and rooftop terrace floor. Service is very good, food was delicious, and most importantly, we enjoyed our time here.

I’ve tried pottery kebab at several places before i came here, i have to say this place has the best pottery kebab in Cappadocia. The meat was very tender and flavourful. The portion was enough for 2 people. The meze plate was also delicious . We finished everything that was on the table. For me the price was reasonable. You can’t expect good delicious food comes with a cheap price.

Authentic Turkish dinning experience, the meze was delicious and we then had the lamb which was very nice. Sitting on the floor whilst eating was a fun experience and added to the authentic atmosphere and interior of the restaurant.

We came here being told that the food was exceptional, as we entered being the only customers as it just opened half the lights weren’t on. And the ambiance wasn’t there. There was a real authentic feel sitting on the floor whilst we dined with the decor but unfortunately the prices of food was high but the taste was nothing amazing. Not sure if it was worth it in the end

Friendly, prompt service. We both wanted the pottery kebab and they were able to accommodate us. It was delicious! Try their homemade red wine — it’s great! Would recommend. Lovely cozy ambience with traditional Turkish seating (cushions low to the floor).

We were a bit confused when we did our research regarding this place. Although top of the list in many webs it had a lower rating in google maps. We had a lovely experience. The food was great, the homemade wine was really good and it was really nice to sit in the floor and experience the local style. It’s true though that it is more expensive than other restaurants of the same or higher quality in Goreme.

Extremely disappointed. The menu was not extensive, not a lot of traditional Turkish dishes and so expensive. The food was okay but not exceptional. They are MANY more restaurant in Göreme where you can have more food, a view and a better experience for the same price (or less expensive). I just don’t understand people who kept going there? Maybe they just didn’t try anything else? I really don’t see the hype about it. I rarely write review about restaurant I visit, but I had too for Pumpkin. It was just so disappointing. I really wonder if the reviews are fakes or if they bought them.

Really good food and excellent relation price quality and quantity. The staff was so kind. Highly recommended the vegetarian dish and goat milk ice cream as well as homemade baklava!! Best restaurant we have been in Turkey.

Fine dining but casual restaurant, the staff is really nice, and the owner whom I chatted a little bit with is a really welcoming man. The ambiance is beautiful overall. The platters I tasted are amazing and I'd recommend anyone to try them. I started with the pumpkin soup which was much needed in the freaking cold weather! Then I tried the lamb course, it just melts in your mouth! And I ended with their ice cream made of goat milk, this was a first for me, and surprisingly it tastes too good ❤ if you're in Cappadocia, you must try Pumpkin restaurant and art gallery⭐

The food was nice and the staff really friendly and accommodating. The menu was not too extensive and the dishes not as memorable as in other places. Nonetheless, the meat was good and seemed fresh.

Inflation has hit here, as everywhere, and the prices were more than the menu posted a year ago by a user, but it is well worth it! Normally you need a reservation but we walked up and they were able to find us a table . Service was very good excellent, food was better . Highly suggest you do set menu very good value for a very good food.

Lamb shank cooked to perfection 👌 Every dish we tried, especially the burgle/walnut treat, were standouts. The owner of this place was nice enough to give us two for the walk back home after we told him how much we liked them (pictured). A beautiful and welcoming host in the truest sense. Get in early if you’re planning to go without a reservation - the place fills up quickly after they open. Oh get the goat milk dessert - great for those who don’t like something super sweet!

Loved it so much we went 2 out of our 3 nights in Goreme! The Turkish ravioli is to die for, as is the pesto pasta! The chicken pottery kebab was incredible! So tender and a very exciting dish! The service was fantastic also. Couldn’t recommend more! They gave us a delicious started on the house, made with tasty spices and lettuce and fresh bread also. Love this spot!

We had a wonderful time, chatted a bit with the interesting owner and some of the staff, enjoyed the cute dogs and most importantly had wonderful food. This is really a great place. We tried several dishes and everything tasted really delicious. If we will ever be in the area again, we will definitely come back and can only recommend it. If you want to do something good for you, go to this place and enjoy.

Beautiful e Delicious food ! We enjoy Turkish ravioli, beef entrecote with mushrooms, pistachio handmade baklava. They also offer a little starter: "kofte" (Turkish meetball real good). The chef and the girls are really nice. We recommend it!!

Had a great meal here. Very generous portion of starter was served while waiting for the main course. The chicken pottery was very well marinated and I loved it being served hot 🔥 it was autumn and the night can be cold so that meal just brought warmth to me immediately.

This place was the best restaurant we tried in Cappadocia. It was recommended by our Hotel's owner (local recommendations are always the best !!). The food was amazing. So delicious, warm and the meat was super soft and yummy. I highly recommend lamb meat !! The staff were really helpful and kind and they offered us warm bread with some appetisers.

Our visit to the Old Cappadocia Restaurant left us with mixed feelings and, unfortunately, a less than satisfactory experience. The first thing you notice about this restaurant is its size; it's quite spacious and bustling with activity. On the day we visited, it was exceptionally busy, which is usually a good sign. The staff, though friendly, seemed to be overwhelmed and short of help during our visit. They were constantly rushing around, trying their best to manage the high demand. Our order experience was less than smooth. The pide arrived promptly, but there was a significant delay before we finally received the pottery kebab. While the meat was tasty, it was on the salty side. To our surprise, it came with only two small spoons of rice, without any bread or salad provided. This left us somewhat unsatisfied, especially given the prices. Adding to our disappointment, we had to request bread from two different waiters and wait for an extended period before it finally arrived. The overall wait times and lack of standard accompaniments to our main dish were a letdown. Regrettably, our experience at the Old Cappadocia Restaurant turned out to be our least enjoyable dining experience in Goreme. While the food had its merits, the service and the overall dining experience fell short of our expectations, especially considering the competition in the area.

A cosy restaurant in the heart of the town. The attendants at the entrance who welcome you were a lot more friendly than the staff inside that serves you - could be a language barrier. Food was good, service prompt and attentive, the so called fresh lemonade wasn’t fresh but from concentrate, overall a good choice.

I can't say enough positive things about this place. The food, service, atmosphere, and price point can't be beat! I stayed in Cappadocia for three days and my biggest regret is not coming to this establishment more often! The restaurant is smoke free which is great for anyone with respiratory issues. The owner is very kind, humble, and well-versed with food allergies. I highly recommend making a stop at this restaurant. Their lamb shank is the best I've ever had in my life.

Food was average, they only cook the meat when you order so rice and chips come cold. Needed to get them to reheat it. Food cost was expensive, however, everywhere in goreme is expensive.

Best choice out here in Goreme! We were greeted by the chef and he was so nice and welcoming! Service was great and fast! We tried some other restaurants in the area but none of them were as good as this one! Food was amazing! All in all I highly recommend this restaurant! In terms of prices, it’s pretty much the same as other restaurants or even less expensive.

We had the lamb kebab in pottery which tasted wonderful and had a great presentation. Although the bottle of wine was expensive, it was a local vineyard vintage 2017. Great pair to the lamb.

I arrived in Cappadocia late in the afternoon and this was my first meal in the city. It did not disappoint one bit. I got the Chicken Pottery Kebab and I've never experienced a presentation like that (image and video attached). Muhammed was great!! He even brought me tea at the end of my meal. The entire staff was friendly and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Wanted to try the Pottery Kebab and tried Old Cappadocia. One of the best food decisions I made in Turkiye! The presentation was superb and the lamb kebab was tender and full of flavour. An absolute delight. Staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

A nice restaurant which serves a good variety of local Turkish food. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating. Prices are posted on the menu, ranging from 100 TL to 200 TL for each main dish. They have a set menu which includes soup, salad, rice with a selection of main courses. I didn't order the set menu, but it also came with salad and rice. It wasn't too busy at the restaurant when we went around 7:30pm during late October (low tourist season). Service was great as well. Overall, good food, nice and relaxing atmosphere with good service and reasonable prices.

Great place to dine in. Drove by this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Food tastes good, sitting outdoor in a cool weather is relaxing. All the dishes we ordered is great! Staff is attentive and we have a nice experience dining in this restaurant. The restaurant is not at the main road of Goreme Town. It is located along the small road and there are parking just outside the restaurant.

Would I eat here again knowing what I know? Yes. We had the set menu clay pottery meals; I had lamb and my wife had chicken. We both loved our meals. Also, the restaurant had a very generous poor for wine. This seems like a small family run restaurant. It is not high class fancy dining. But we really really like the atmosphere. I'm glad I found this lovely restaurant. It has plenty of vegetarian/vegan options to choose from and the food is tasty! The owners are all very friendly and vibe of the restaurant is nice.

The food is so delicious here, we enjoy our meal a lot! I especially like the tomato soup served with the pottery beef set (I should have take a photo of that). Meat are tender, my friend’s mixed grill is also delicious. Perfect ending with the dessert.

We chose Cappadocian Cuisine due to its convenient location near our hotel, within walking distance. After a long journey, we were feeling exhausted and in need of a break. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Our first highlight was the pottery lamb dish, which provided a unique dining experience. I highly recommend trying it. Personally, I found the beef mousaka to be my favorite, especially when paired with rice and a refreshing beer. Our overall experience was pleasant, allowing us to regain our energy before exploring the center.

We have been in Cappadocia for three days, we have eaten here every day, one day we ate there twice. It is delicious! The owners are wonderful, kind, gentle people, and always greeting you with a smile. The food is top notch Turkish food. My favorite is just about anything they make, but would have to say my number one (if I have to choose) is their, Manti (Turkish ravioli). I have eaten Manti all over turkey and I must say theirs is the best I’ve had, it is homemade fresh daily and the yogurt tomato sauce is spiced perfectly. It is one of those dishes I will dream about until I come back. We haven’t had a bad meal there. Everything was superb! Reasonably priced. Attaching some photos.

You’ll notice I gave 5* for both the food and service, but only 1* for the overall score and atmosphere - which was because of the way I was made to feel after being told to finish my tea (after dinner) and leave because the restaurant was busy. I frequently travel alone, and have eaten in various restaurants around the world, but NEVER have I ever been told to hurry up and leave. Just for the record, I’m not one of those people who sits in a restaurant for hours - I eat and I go. I ordered a tea to finish my meal, and was nearly done when the guy basically kicked me out. I was in the restaurant for under 50 minutes, which I don’t believe is an excessive amount of time for dinner - especially when also taking into account the time you have to wait for your food to arrive. I also feel if I wasn’t a lone diner I would have been treated somewhat differently too. I made it clear to the guy I wasn’t happy that I was being asked to leave before I’d even finished my tea. He then told me to sit back down and finish, but at that point I no longer felt welcome and just wanted to leave. I went to pay (minus the tea) and he said quite angrily, “Ok, don’t pay have it for free!” I walked out feeling pretty awful. I’ve never not paid for my meal before, but then I’ve never been made to feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome either. So on this occasion I feel him writing off the bill (albeit begrudgingly) was just. Up until the point when the guy told me to hurry up and leave, I’d actually had a really enjoyable experience - the ladies who served me were fabulous, and the food was good. Needless to say I won’t be returning to this restaurant, and no I don’t recommend it either - unless you intend to hoover your food and drinks down in under half an hour.

Really tasty local food. We loved all the dishes we ordered. Specially the pottery kebab. It is on the main road to easily accessible. If you are nearby you should make a point to visit this place.

My family and I went around many establishments in search of authentic cuisine and good service, and I am incredibly happy and satisfied that we came to this wonderful place! Just had a satisfying dinner here. The reviews don't lie. Service and food were good. Prices were very reasonable. Loved the lambchops. Hope to try their pottery dishes tomorrow, saw several patrons enjoying it earlier. Update: Tried their lamb pottery dish and it tasted so good that we gobbled everything up.

We had a nice experience here. The lamb pottery (lamb stew in a clay pot) is tasty and the waiter helped us open it which gave us a fun experience. Manti (Turkish ravioli) has good dough but is a bit light on the topping imo. Portion is a bit small I think. We ate here a few days ago (2 adults, 1 child). We ordered 2 pottery lamb, and 1 pottery beef. It may seem like a small serving, but it was enough for each of us with the sides (rice, salads and dips). The meat was tender and the sauce was seasoned well.

We choose this place because google reviews and it was good choice! The owners were very kind. The food delicious and the price was fair enough. We took menu with soup and pot. We totally recomen it!!!

Hands down the best meal in our Turkey trip!! This restaurant deserves 5 stars and nothing less! We visited this restaurant in during new year holiday, we were so impressed with the food we had at this restaurant we are still talking about until now. Lamb clay pottery is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Very tasty and tender meat. Lentil soup is creamy and thick, super tasty. Do not miss out on the best Turkish food in Turkey! :) Thank you the staff and chef for this wonderful and memorable meal.
