Museums
The Ex Stabilimento Florio delle Tonnare di Favignana e Formica is a waterfront museum that offers unique exhibits on local history. The renovated tuna factory showcases the fishing methods used over the last two centuries and tells stories about the founder family. Visitors can learn about the production of tuna cans through detailed models, photos, and set up scenes. The tour guide is knowledgeable and speaks good English, providing interesting insights into both the factory's production process and the Florio family's history.
A must see! Very interesting tour and super passionate guide, Liliana. The site is clean and well kept.
Giulia Longato — Google review
Interesting museum centered around a former tuna fish processing factory. The whole island of Favignana was at one point owned by the Florio family, which owned the tuna processing facility and industry on the island. The Florio villa gives one a good idea of the wealth of the family at one time. All in all, the island, with its beautiful beaches and the ex Stabilimento Florio, is well worth a trip from Trapani via hydrofoil or regular ferry.
Michael Stemmeler — Google review
Interesting buildings to wander around. Most information in Italian, so you may need Google Lens, etc. to translate. Some interesting archaeological items, quite a lot of information on the historical tuna business.
Chris Bing — Google review
2/5 as an impossible average between an atmospheric and captivating 5+ humanity heritage landmark against an embarassing total absence of even basic non Italian written nor speaking guidance. EUR9 access fee..
ROBY HERSKOWICZ — Google review
Amazing place! We enjoyed a 2hrs guided tour of the old factory without no extra cost (ticket was 6€), it was really cool! The guide explained us not only how the tuna cans were produced but also gave us some interesting hints about the Florio family! Definitely something worth the time while you’re in favignana
Tiziano Patrick Dodgson — Google review
Great guided tour of the ex tuna factory in Favignana, a must do while you are in the island especially if you have read the Lions of Sicily by Stefania Auci (that I strongly recommend too!).
Andrea Locatelli — Google review
Really interesting museum where you can learn a lot about fishing tunas in the last 200 years. Many stories about the founder family, the methods and the factory itself. It’s really detailed with models, photos, set up scenes. And also our guide was really kind and she knew a lot and answered all our questions. She spoke good english too.
Kristóf Göbölös — Google review
Lovely museum, kids enjoyed everything related to ancient history and sea battles. The tour was just the right length too, lots of interesting facts about tuna fishing.

This factory has a storied history. Sadly the guided tours are offered only in Italian.

Bue Marino Beach

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Bue Marino Beach is a stunning location named after monk seals that used to inhabit the area. It boasts a rugged coastline with rock formations resulting from quarrying and deep blue waters perfect for sun and sea lovers. The lack of a traditional beach means visitors can relax on smooth rocks or man-made ledges alongside other bronzed Italian bodies. One of the unique aspects of Bue Marino Beach is its cave access to the crystal-clear water, which also provides ample shade, meaning umbrellas are not required.
Best ‘beach’ (it is just rocks) of Favignana. Relatively easy accessible by bike and a short walk. Beautiful caves and easy access into the amazing clear water for swimming / snorkeling / cliff diving.
Luuk Reinalda — Google review
The most electric blue water, almost nowhere to lie down near the water though. Some nice shady caves close by. Access to water is tricky but with a little clambering is possible. We did not have water shoes and it was just about okay to get in. Go early, it gets rammed.
Lisa — Google review
Nature at its best 😍 cliffs full of shells, beautiful colours of the water and the view under the water is simply amazing! Lots of fish that you can see in the really clear water! I'm totally in love with this place!
Ciobby Ralu — Google review
clean and transparent sea, which is 3 m deep at the entrance. I recommend taking diving goggles, because you will find a lot of fish and water biotope.
Rastislav Pavl?k — Google review
Beautiful spot to admire and swim in the blue ocean. Lots of rocks and cliffs but there are still a good amount of places to sit and relax
Mary — Google review
The most peculiar access to the sea to favignana. You can enjoy the caves and the crystal clear water. One of the only place where you will not need an umbrella because the caves or rocks are creating enough shadow.
Giuseppe D'Alberti — Google review
Very nice view and place but no access to the beach and usually wavy for a swim. Furthermore the trash found in the caves is smelly and ruining the view.
Nadim Mouawad — Google review
Most incredible spot in Favignana. Pictures speaks for themselves. Worth a jump off the cliff too. Deep enough !!
Artur Kulik — Google review
Perfect place for the clear sea and you can relax inside the cave. So outside very sunny and inside Shade so for a relaxing its perfect.

Beautiful turquoise water, snorkeling 🤿 awesome
Harald Diethart — Google review
Absolutely stunning place, the water looks incredible. We couldn’t access the water for a swim though since it was crowded and difficult to find a spot. But it was still nice to enjoy the view for a moment

Scogliera di Cala Rossa, a seaside destination located in Italy, is renowned for its picturesque shoreline and crystal-clear waters. The area boasts numerous rocky cliffs that jut out into the water, providing visitors with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Tourists can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including swimming and sunbathing on the sandy beaches or exploring the nearby nature reserve. The beach's calm and tranquil atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Beautiful spot. Incredibly clear. HAVE TO VISIT if in Favignana
Artur Kulik — Google review
On arrival Cala Rossa greets you with crystal clear waters and red rocky formations. When I went in September the wind was coming from the south so the sea in the northern coast was nice and calm. In fact we didn’t go to Cala Azzurra, because it would have been too windy, so make sure you check the wind before you pic a beach! Not much else to add, just breathtaking! (Pics can prove it!)
Barbara — Google review
Amazing place The best way to arrive here is by bike. The water is amazing blue. It's difficult to arrive but it is worth it. The best thing to do is to with your bike to be the first stop and then to go all around. In July it is quite hot so it is better to come in the morning. It is quite a lovely place so you will find a lot af people. Something amazing is the people. Are sincere and open-minded. Happy to help and to talk.
Silvis — Google review
Very instagram-worthy but sooo much people in July. Be prepared to climb some rocks if you want a swim.
Antonia E — Google review
Really beautiful beach but unfortunately it's difficult to swim in here. It's really windy and the waves are strong.
Lorena Ebel — Google review
Amazing water. Clean, is possible see on the bottom also in longer distance from the coast. White sand on the bottom. Only what need to be careful the entrance to the sea. Only rocks. But it worthy. Definatelly. If you need to rent a bike i can recommand -> Aleva company. Very good quality bike, friendly people. is possible to find them in center the street: via del Pilota di Garibaldi 10€ per day was price

First stop from Favignana port ,nice views but limited swimming access
Tim Edkins — Google review
Gorgeous blue water best seen from a boat. It’s a good walk down over plenty of sharp rocks. Do not wear flip flops. There is a little mobile cart at the top with waters, juices and snacks. If you choose to spend the day here you will do so with many many people. If you are willing to hike some over plenty of rocks you can find some caves and shade. Lots of Jelly fish in June . If I return it will be from the water
ESTHER N-G — Google review
By far the most gorgeous spot we visited in Favignana. The colour of the water was so beautiful and the swim was just as glorious. Best way to get to Cala Rossa is by Scooter. There is no sandy beach, however plenty of spots to lay your towel out on the rocks. There's no WC and there's a small shack that makes tuna sandwiches and drinks near the cove.

Wowza 🤩 See photos for an “easier” path down.

Castello di Punta Troia

Mentioned on
Castle
Sights & Landmarks
The journey to reach Castello di Punta Troia may prove to be more challenging than anticipated, but the panoramic views offered from its remote location are breathtaking. It is recommended to consider taking a boat taxi on either the trip there or back, allowing for an opportunity to fully appreciate both the hike and sea experience. The castle has been expertly restored and holds an admirable position that merits a visit, especially during visiting hours.
Such a great hiking experience. The trail is a dangerous one if not well prepared. It starts off pretty chill until you find yourself at the edge of the cliffs. We saw people with sandals. Very dangerous. Prepare at least a 750cc water bottle or electrolytes and HIKING SHOES. We left the village at around 1630 and arrived at around 1815. We did multiple stops to enjoy the views and take pictures. On this round we started going up to the castle however it got late and didn't manage. The Guardian of the Castle was coming down and being picked up by a boat that offered everyone a lift back to the village as the pathway becomes pitch dark and it is easier to get lost or hurt as the sun sets. He was pretty worried for those that walked it back. Therefore if you don't like the heat of the sun, start at least at 1530 to have time to stop, chill, visit the castle and swim. The only things you need In one backpack : underwear, towel, 750cc bottle is enough. If you'd like to walk back in the dark a headlamp. If you are in two take it in turns to carry the bag. Also have 10EUROS Per person in case you take the boat back. Just ask the driver. It's usually 10euros pp. Worth the walk ❣️❣️

It’s a good hour walking from Marettimo but really worth it! Beautiful panorama all along the trail and from the Castel!

It’s quite a walk up to the building but worth it for the view and to see the building itself. There is a €4 charge to look round the museum and if he’s not too busy the guide will take you round and explain it all to you. Nice guy!
David Lingard — Google review
The hike to get here is harder than you might expect, but the views are amazing! Pro tip: get a boat taxi on the way here or on the way back, this way you can enjoy the hike on one way and the sea on the other.

Cibo Chiacchiere e Vino is a restaurant located on the north-eastern coast of Sicily, with fresh pasta and oil dishes served in a relaxed atmosphere, with white couches and a white gazebo. They offer good wine deals and suggest an excellent Norma. The location is unique; you can enjoy the sunset and moonrise from your seats at the beach. Tables are out in the open and it is decorated with candles and a white gazebo.
Very nice place, staff is very friendly. We showed up without a reservation (which you should not do as everyone makes reservations) and they accommodated us. Drinks, food and of course the sunset were really nice. Would reapeat.

This place is just magical, drinking wine while looking at the sunset in Favignana was one of the best evenings of my vacation! Food is really good and service is remarkable. But one of my favorite things was definitely the music, creating a really romantic atmosphere. Will definite come back! 5 stars no doubt for me!

One of the best places where to have food in Favignana, the crew is super kind and nice, as soon as you arrive you feel like home. Food is super tasty and the view is awesome. Thank you all ❤️

Great place, service is very good, food, wine and drinks extremely good and the whole structure is amazing! Booking is recommended if in high season! We did have a reservation and we were given an Amazing bed sit style table!

STUNNING! The best sunset spot on the island, make sure to book a table and enjoy the apericena experience. Not overcrowded, nice staff and great food. The tables are well separated one from the other. I really appreciated that: despite many people would like to be there, they keep the bookings limited to a reasonable amount of people and they guarantee your privacy. Well done!
Giulia Longato — Google review
Love the desert bar vibe of this place. It plays the best trance type music and the speakers are disguised in rocks and cacti. Plenty of seating, not just the canopy lounge beds you reserve. Try the passion fruit spritz, it was sweet but delicious. Service was meh, as the bartender overcharged us once and then didn't make one of our drinks another time, but the atmosphere is highly worth it. Go at sunset! You won't regret it
Bre — Google review
Probably the best place on the Island to be around at dusk. Enjoy Italian tapas; regulars and daily ones. Recommended to book well in advance because although there are plenty of tables, the place is packed at around 20:00. The atmosphere is really relaxed, the surroundings reminded me of a movie set, the ambient music is well chosen. Anyone who plays Lana Del Rey is ok in my book. The food is fine, just what you"d expect from a lounge bar. We also had a grilled swordfish for lunch which was very well cooked. There's a wine tasting spot where a host suggests wines for you to taste and decide which wine fits your mood. The staff is very kind and thoughtful. Although it is a big terrace, the waiters don't seem to have their own sector which tend to result in some chaotic situations where it takes a bit too long before you can order your next round, or tapas are forgotten to be served. Apart from that I'd highly recommend you to visit this beautiful restaurant. It makes your visit to the island really worth while.
Jeroen Razoux Schultz — Google review
agroturismo on the NW edge of Favignana, very nice and friendly stuff, offer their own wine and excellent olive oil, tasty Caponata, and homemade dishes at a comparably high price level. we had been there during the break after lunch, but for dinner make a reserve, then will be a great evening....
Gerald Perneder — Google review
Can't recommend enough. The atmosphere is simply fantastic. Watching the sunset with good tapas, excellent wine and good tunes is exactly the vibe this place will give you.

I am very lucky to have tasted the BEST sea urchin pasta in Sicily, the moment you taste the sea urchin pasta, you will be looking for a flight ticket to visit this restaurant again next year!! The quality of the bread served before the meal is excellent, and everything is fantastico until the last dessert 😘😘✨

Recommend you open up the wallet and spend some $ here, you wont be disappointed. Not the usual cuisine you find around town, excellent selection of wines (grillo) too. It's just a little off the main square, so far enough from the hubrus to enjoy an quiet, intimate dinner for two 😉

Overrated and terrible staff. A shame for the chefs, as the food was great (although Caprese was average), but the staff were utterly hopeless. Firstly, we ordered a bottle of red wine, but a white came. They told us it was better, and we kept it with no discount or a sorry. The young waiters were rude, other than one older man and female. Lastly, no real music, just some lame tunes in the corner. Not deserving of its 4.5 star unless it improves it waiters!

Sotto Sale is a trendy, dark-walled restaurant with quirky decor in Favignana, Sicily that serves creative dishes with a focus on fish. The restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner and features new Sicilian cuisine beautifully presented.
Lovely place! Friendly, professional, knowledgeable and accommodating staff - delicious food and great wine selection. Didn’t have a chance to book in advance and the maître found us a spot, the last table in the alley, which was not a problem. Kind of charming and away from the main street tourist bustle. They brought out a delicious complementary croquette, which was a nice surprise, then a local Syrah, which was very good. We ordered a delicious tuna starter, which was like a California roll but with great flavors and the tuna was outstandingly fresh. I had a filet mignon with potatoes for a main, which was done to perfection. Price is very reasonable, perhaps high for Favignana but totally reasonable for any other city. 10/10 will come again, well done.

We had the 10 course tasting menu wow. Some amazing flavours, textures and quality products. Just two recommendations 1. Having wine pairing with the tasting menu. 2. Less time in-between courses. Apart from that best meal we had in the whole trip in Sicily.

Chef/owner Francesco is a real talent. The food is outstanding and the place is gorgeous. High quality ingredients sourced locally and dishes very well thought. Wonderful last meal during our stay on the island. Inventive and exciting dishes to switch things up after two weeks in Sicily. Felt a little more elevated with high quality ingredients, very fresh, leaving each dish better than the next !! We could have eaten here five more times it was so good. Get a reservation beforehand !

Extremely good restaurant, attentive and welcoming service, great location and ambience. Not giving five stars for the price-quantity (by quality, which is extremely good) ratio, due to the small portions. As dessert, "Isola" was both creative and delicious.
gnldesantis — Google review
This was by far the best meal we had in Favignana, if not the best during our week in Sicily. The menu is a combination of modern Italian with Japanese influences, and all the food sourced locally. If you're a foodie you will love it here. Yes, the food is on the pricey side for Sicily, but a meal of the same quality in most other European cities would be far, far more. The staff were also great and very attentive throughout. Just going to Favignana to eat here would be worth the journey!

Terrible! We set for have dinner here, we ordered 2 Spaghetti Vongole and 1 Spaghetti allo Scolgio and one tuna steak which was one of the specials of the day. My pasta which was meant to be with mixed seafood (Spaghetti allo Scoglio) was served to me. Coming from an island ourselves, we know what fresh seafood really is and we instantly noticed that it was cooked with frozen seafood and tasted as blend as water. When I called who I think was the manager, in Italian, I advised that this was frozen fish and wanted to add that it is tasteless, however she finished my sentence which was rather shocking. She offered to bring something else, but seeing that the other 2 pasta vongole we had tasted quite bad and smelled even worse, I refused. Out of 4 dishes, we sent back 1, and left almost untouched 2 other pasta dishes. This is the perfect Tourist Trap. The removed my pasta off the bill but we were charged for all the rest, even after saying that the Spaghetti Vongole was bad.

We visited this restaurant twice. First time treated nicely but weren't told the daily dishes...However, the food was really good. The second time we visited the staff was just as nice and welcoming as the first time:) 2.5€ for water, bread and olives is more than okay. I would recommend for fish dishes! Keep up the good work!

Best fish and seafood we’ve had in a while. Any of the 8 dishes we ordered was delicious, the service was extremely kind and with a beautiful atmosphere. We’ll come back!
Beatrice D'Angelo — Google review
Very busy restaurant in the center of Favignana, we chose pepata di cozze as entry dish and some of their most famous dishes, spaghetti with vongole and fried tuna. Pepata and spaghetti were good but the tuna was excessively fried resulting a bit heavy on the stomach. Service was ok but the waiters were a bit confused by the amount of people in the restaurant, maybe there were too few of them. Also they didn’t offer our amaro even if most reviews say that they usually do. Surely too expensive to be an osteria for me.

I loved my dinner at the osteria. The service was good, quick and friendly! I reserved the table at the door but I advise you to call in advance to avoid missing the opportunity especially during peak periods. The food was really good and fresh, I had the ricciola! The location is central, right on the main Street, and there are tables outside and inside. I appreciated that included in the service charge there were olives, bread and tap water (10 points for that!). I'd definitely go back!

La Pinnata is a gastronomy establishment located in the heart of Favignana, offering a wide variety of cheese and local specialty dishes. Visitors can indulge in delicious options such as tuna, burrata, and the flavorful stuffed bread known as pane cunzato. Additionally, the restaurant serves an array of charcuterie and fish platters, including those featuring tuna and bottarga. Alongside these delectable offerings are good wine selections and local beers to complement the meals.
This restaurant is not to be overlooked. It’s on a quit street and you could easily pass it by. The ambiance is so comfortable and you feel as if you’re in nana’s kitchen. When it come to the food I can’t even describe how good it is. I had pasta with mussels while my husband had a swordfish, prawns rolled into a croquet with eggplant on the outside. We chose grilled veggies to go with our meal. Even though the desserts sounded oh so good we were full and went with a digestive. I had Finochietto for the first time and am now trying to find a place to buy a bottle. Husband went with his favorite- grappa. No matter what dish you choose you will not be disappointed. Wish we were staying longer because we would go back again.
