We came specially on Tuesday 25 September, supposed to be open, we climbed to the Grotta, but it was closed, no sign downstairs that the place it's closed, very angry about it

(Translated by Google) Enchanting place which I highly recommend visiting. The caves have a surprising chromatic variety and vastness, developing on several levels, even if for obvious reasons only a part can be visited by tourists; However, there is the possibility of a less touristy visit (with helmet and harness) to the chalk quarry by contacting the administration. Inside there are also archaeological finds and a necropolis. The guide who led us to discover the caves with competence and diligence also deserves a special mention. Ps don't stop at the building below, now closed, but continue and go up to the entrance to find the ticket office (Original) Luogo incantevole di cui consiglio caldamente la visita. The trip is definitely worth it! Bring a sweater (it's about a constant 18 degrees inside). (Translated by Google) I regret giving such a low rating, because the caves are certainly beautiful, but unfortunately they have been closed, as it turns out, for many months. In the Internet space, they function as accessible and it's time to end it, because many people waste time and energy to get there. There has already been considerable devastation there. The Santuario di San Francesco di Paola is a magnificent shrine located above Paola, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The church is simple inside but has a stunning gothic facade and a beautiful terrace with ample parking. There is also a new chapel where many services are held. A very peaceful and spiritual place with a medieval church and a modern sanctuary. Free to visit (they accept donations but not required). The life of St Francis of Paola is laid out in ample detail and one can see multiple aspects of his life. For pilgrims (or anyone visiting) there are bathrooms, a picnic area and an indoor lunch room (bring your own lunch)

Spiaggia dell'Arcomagno is a small secluded beach located to the south of Italy, accessible by paid or street parking. The walk to the beach takes about 10-20 minutes depending on fitness level but it's definitely worth it. This beautiful beach offers stunning views with crystal clear water and relatively quiet surroundings, making it one of the favourite beaches in Italy.
One of the best or the best panoramic beach in italy. The arch is georgeous. The place is a truly gem. Water crystal clear blue and very calm. Is a must see beach. Try not to go in august. Is too many ppl and they make u pay the entrance and on top of that they time you. I think they give 20 mins. Not good.

This small beach is truly a pearl. Crystal clear water and a sunset where the sun's rays enter the door. Beautiful see, beautiful panorama, great and clean water.

Magic place with pristine clear water. You have to take the road throught the hill but it’s worth doing . Second option to get there is rent a water bike .

Beautiful views, beautiful panorama, great and clean water. Beautiful beach and scenery. Worth the climbing. Wonderful natural rocks by the sea somewhere in a very private seaside carved out in the rocks. This place is absolutely gorgeous.
Pawel Tadejko — Google review
We parked at the beach to the south where there is paid and street parking. The walk is about 10-20mins depending on fitness but it’s well worth it! Secluded, stunning clear water and relatively quiet (the walk must scare people off). Our favourite beach in Italy.
Nell Farnham — Google review
Beautiful beach, you can either walk from the beach nearby or get in a boat to traverse around the hill and most of the Lido beaches. From there its an easy walk to the arch once you climb down some rock. Its best in the afternoon because the water gets iluminated. Its too shady un the morning
Jose Antonio Herrera Salinas — Google review
This place is a magical paradise. You will not be disappointed. It definitely gets crowded so if you want a good spot I would suggest to get there early and spend the day exploring all the parts of the beach. Parking for the day was 6 Euro. Once you park you have to do a short hike to get to the other side in order to see the beautiful grotta. Took an hour from Cetraro to get here and back home (always traffic because their is only one main road that leads to all the beach towns). Highly recommend!!!!

Beautiful place in the heart of Calabria. It costs 3€ per person and worth it all. After a long stair in the middle of nature, between stones, trees and grass, you will find yourself in the hieghest point of the Arco Magno. A natural stone structure. Then you will descent in a beautiful beach. There is no sand, it's a vulcanic beach. The water is fresh and blue. The access is limitated for 30 minutes. It's an idea to see something different and unique in the coastline

Museum of the Diocese and the Rossano Codex

Mentioned on
Museum
Sightseeing tour agency
The Museum of the Diocese and the Rossano Codex is a small yet inspiring museum that houses a manuscript dating back 15 centuries. One need not be religious to appreciate this historical artifact, particularly with the curator's engaging presentation in English. The exhibits are beautifully displayed, though some of them only have labels in Italian at present, which may detract from visitors' understanding. Nevertheless, the museum's tour guide is highly knowledgeable and proficient in several languages including Russian, English, and Italian.
The other reviewers have already said how great this little museum is. A real jewel. What stood out was the friendliness of the staff, the ladies at the Biglietteria and the man who gave us the explanations. Although we have only little Italian he used simple sentences and explained some things a couple of times so we really got it! Thank you. The videos and touch screens make it a very good experience. Highly recommended.
Martin Badwolf — Google review
This is a must-see museum. Small, but new and inspiring. To be in the presence of a manuscript 15 centuries old is very moving, and the curator brought it to life with his presentation in English. You don't have to be religious to be wowed by this. If I have any criticism it is that the beautiful items in the rest of this small museum have labels only in Italian at present, but they can still be appreciated.

Island
Nature & Parks
The island of Dino, located off the coast of Calabria, spans across 50 hectares and boasts magnificent limestone cliffs and caves. This natural wonder is a sight to behold, with its crystal-clear blue waters and stunning rock formations. Visitors can explore the island's breathtaking scenery via kayaking or boat tours. The peak season tends to be crowded, but visiting outside that period offers a more tranquil experience with fewer people around.
Amazing island!!! Visited it all by kayak in 1.5h in October was fantastic, out of the peak season, we were completely alone in the water all the time! Natural island with incredibly blue sea and amazing caves!

Such a shame it is abandoned, you used to get a boat over to a bar, swimming pool and tiny igloos many yrs ago. You can swim to it easily. Diving clubs use the island and boats go into grotto, looks beautiful from a distance only inhabitants now are the seagull's and lots of trees.

On the beach there is the possibility of resting both on the free beach and on the beaches near the island of Dino. It is forbidden to set up with umbrellas on the strip of beach close to the island for reasons of decorum, you are asked to spread out only the beach towel. But a few meters away there is a free beach with the possibility of placing an umbrella. (Original) Isolotto affascinante di fronte alla spiaggia a Praia a mare. Sandwich shop
Mi'Ndujo - Cosenza is an outstanding sandwich shop that offers exceptional hamburgers. The ingredients used are of superb quality, including a top-notch patty, genuine caciocavallo cheese, and Tropea Onions. These delicious components are expertly enclosed in freshly baked bread made on-site. The variety of options available is extensive, and the staff members are skilled, attentive, and amiable. This establishment comes highly recommended whenever one craves a truly excellent burger.
I'm not a sandwich person, but this quality is worth an exception!
Alessandro Vitro — Google review
Nothing to say about the goodness of what we ate. Just be careful not to get caught up in the friendly waitress, who is very well prepared, but whose advice will increase the cost of your "fast food" to well beyond the normal cost of a good restaurant in these areas. Spending 30 euros per person to eat a sandwich and a drink, although excellent, didn't seem reasonable to us.
cesare lanza — Google review
Mixed feelings about this place. The wait was quite long. They serve fries before the burger so by the time the burger is served, the fries are cold and you're half hungry and won't enjoy the burger as much. Service is also mediocre. However, I must admit that the food is actually quite good. The bread part of the burger is by far the best part.

Chophouse restaurant
On August 5th, 2023, a visit was made to the chophouse restaurant Il Brillo Parlante - Lorica. The structure was beautiful and the meat was excellent. The staff was helpful and efficient in their service. However, it is unfortunate that they do not offer any pasta dishes. Overall, it is a great place with impeccable service.
During my visit I took my nieces for a drive into Sila to see snow and spend a day outdoors in a winter wonderland. We went to lunch here at Il Brillo and as I’ve never been here it was on my sisters recommendation. I was overwhelmed by how good the food was. Fresh. Meats cooked perfectly to order and with flavors to please any palate. Definitely worth the wait during these limited seating Covid times. Reservations are recommended. The photos hopefully will do it justice. Prices are beyond fair. Prepare to share. And order extra potatoes and onions. They’re the best. Enjoy.

The antipasto is quite tasty and it has all the typical things you‘ll usually find in this corner of the world. Grigliata is a decent main, even though I was expecting a piece of grilled beef and I found some of it a bit too salty. Porcini (mushrooms) and caciocavallo (fried cheese) were pretty tasty. On the other side, I found the craft red beer a bit tasteless. Location is nice, just in front of the lake.

Amazing 🤩😍 my boyfriend and I went there for dinner, around 8 pm. We had called one or two days earlier to make the reservation. We were greeted by a welcoming and very professional waitress. She guided us all through the dinner with very helpful suggestions and curiosities about the food we were consuming, their traditional making of it and their work through different generations. It really was a wholesome experience. The food of course was special, tasty and fresh. Products of quality always. We ate on the inside which was cooler in summer. Strongly recommend it! We would definitely go back again. Thank you for the great experience!

I visit this restaurant every time I'm in Scalea and every time I leave there fully satisfied. Would highly recommend this idyllic restaurant in Scaleas old town.
