Dorset Adventure Park

Mentioned on
Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Dorset Adventure Park is a playground situated in the midst of a forested area, featuring large inflatables that float on two lakes. Visitors can indulge in an exhilarating one-hour session on the South West's leading inflatable obstacle course with slides, trampolines, and flip bags. The park caters to people aged six and above, including school trips, hen parties, team building events and kids' parties.
A pleasant day for the teenage sons. Plenty of mud on the mud trail. Parents were enjoying watching the younger ones getting thoroughly covered. My sons enjoyed the waterpark aspect of the visit more. Just enough time in each area (30 mins each) to keep them amused. Very busy when the weather is good. Booking in advance essential when this is the case. Bring a picnic to avoid buying on site.

We have been here a few times before but this year we noticed that a few changes have been made. You have to collect your wetsuits then walk down to the briefing area before entering the water. You get 30 minutes on one piece of floating apparatus and then 30 minutes on the other. It is well organised and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a great place to burn off steam and afterwards you will certainly sleep well as it is very tiring after an hour of clambering around in and out of the water. You can hire wetsuits which we have done, we have also worn our own, but this year it was hot and we went in wearing shorts and t shirts. You can wear rubber swim shoes or buy grippy socks for £2.50. The socks are a good buy as they are very very grippy and also they wash up well.

Excellent Aqua session with good facilities. Coffee kiosk, changing area, lockers, toilets & photo shack. Easy going helpful staff and well supervised. Will return.

Great Afternoon. 4pm session, which was quite quiet with 21 people so ideal time to go. Ludo and Poppy were excellent and very helpful. Will definitely be going again!!

Took my wife 10 8 and 6 year old and they loved it! Even my wife who isn't really into this type of thing. The kit was comfy and kept us warm. OK changing facilities. But the inflatables were great for 7+ year olds. They were tricky for a 6 year old. But just meant I stayed close to him, which was super fun. Life guards were really good communicators and did great briefings and fun support during the event. Felt really safe secure and fun. 1 hour seemed short, but I was toast after 50 minutes so perfect timing. Kids are really keen to go again. Thanks guys.

Great place for some family fun, we went and did the mud run, kids and husband had a fantastic time (I was the photographer) spectators can follow the course around, you are left to it so their is no time pressure and you can repeat the obstacles you enjoyed the most. For women, I'd say wear an old bikini or somthing under your clothes so at the showers you can strip off abit to try and wash off better. You rinse in a stream first then the showers but you will not get it all off. Wear old clothes you are happy to just bin. Some lads had football boots on too, seemed a good idea, as you can imagine it's very slippy 😂 The showers and changing is all very open so don't plan a nice meal out or something after, you will definitely need to go home and clean properly. We are coming back this week to do the water one.
Carley Vincent — Google review
The mud run was so much fun! Not many people supervising, would have preferred some guides around the place motivating us on. Facilities are grim! I get there is a lot of mud around the place but the smells and state of the toilets was more lack of hygiene than mud. Could do with a few more showers at the end too Would do it again though!

One advice to everyone, If you are worried to arrive to early, actually you are already late. Other than that it was an absolute blast and would definitely come back only next time allow ourselves more time in advance to get changed and setup. Thank You DAP and a team!

Sorry I can't give much of the experience of going alone as I went with my school but I can say the mud run was great fun and I was soaked. The water parks are both great although one of them is quite cold whereas the other was warmer the trampoline was great to jump off but I couldn't get on the cheese piece the slides were also so great

Me and my Family come here every year when we are camping in corfe castle, the lifeguards are amazing and so interactive, the staff are bubbly and friendly and don’t make you feel like a nuisance if you have an issue. We always get food after as well and the burgers and chips are to die for!! We are usually disappointed by food at places like this but this place never lets us down, as well as a Cornish ice cream for pudding after!! We always purchase the photos every year as well, the photographers always do such a good shop and they are such nice memories to look back on. Great value for money too if you buy them on the day. Couldn’t recommend this place more!!

Place is great fun and very well run. Was my sons birthday and he and his friends had the best time. Food and facilities were also great. Will be coming back again this summer!

Great fun with the kids. They loved the mud run and I was jealous as hell wat hung them on the water park from the banks!

This is such a great place! We have been a few times now and everyone in the family loves it! The staff are great and so knowledgeable, and there is always so many that it's always felt very professional and safe! The most recent visit was for my sons 12th birthday and they had an absolute ball!!! Thanks to everyone involved!!
Kay Hopkins — Google review
The staff are fantastic, very welcoming, we have been going for the last three years. They are one of a very few water parks who allow their instructors to interact with the customers - and by that I mean, you can push them in but they will push you back - all very nice natured though..! Would thoroughly recommend. There are two lakes with different types of water obstacles plus they have a muddy trail obstacle course, if water isn't your thing. Try it all out, you won't be let down.

The Greyhound Inn in Corfe Castle is a charming pub with low ceilings, oak and stone floors, and a lovely grassy beer garden. Its menu offers delicious British and European dishes, while its staff are known for being friendly and accommodating. The only downside is that the kids' menu could use more variety. One of Britain's most iconic survivors of the English Civil War, Corfe Castle sits atop the Purbeck Hills, providing breathtaking views of the Dorset countryside from its ghostly ruins.
This gastro pub came highly recommended and didn’t disappoint, well worth booking , even mid week out of season . A warm welcome from staff on arrival and a suitable table for us 2 humans and 2 x jack Russell’s . The pub has fantastic views of Corke castle from the garden , cosy and atmospheric inside . Great service and fantastic food made for the perfect night , recommend.

Lovely setting with a fantastic view of the castle and steam railway. Offering table service, good drinks and a good menu it's a lovely place to stop for refreshments in Corfe castle. It's also very dog friendly. On this visit I went for the classic ham eggs and chips, and I was massively impressed with the quality and quantity. Really nice place, good prices and worth a visit

We ordered two burgers "moves mountains" one of them gluten free, they brought a full one and a sandwich (that was the supposed gluten free burger) I did not touch the food but I complained to change my incomplete and sloppy plate as I would not pay £15'50 for a sandwich that didn't even look like the..My partner's hamburger (hers was normal) Were very rude and when I asked for a different dish (they also had a gluten-free option, they didn't want to put it on me) they claimed that there was no more gluten-free plates, finally I didn't eat anything. the place is nice but the waiters and chefs are very few professionals. I attach photos so you can see the difference from one hamburger to another

Top notch food. We had the platter of which the brisket was an absolute star. I also followed up with sticky toffee pudding which was a real delight. Perfect setting as you can walk straight out the castle grounds into the garden. Covered and uncovered seating. Dog friendly.

Just had a lovely Sunday roast at the Greyhound Inn. There were 4 of us and 3 dogs and we were seated in a lovely side part of the pub. Just us and plenty of room for the dogs. The waitress was lovely and complimented our Sprocker Spaniel as she just had got one herself. All the staff were really nice and friendly. Water bought straight away. Menus too. Then drink order taken quickly and drinks arrived quickly. Then the food order taken in good time and in no short time this amazing roast appeared. The beef was so tasty as was everything on the plate. Really well cooked and a beautiful Yorkshire pudding with stuffing in the middle. It was lovely with red wine gravy. Two of our party had apple strudel for dessert and it looked and smelt good and they said it was very tasty. Reasonable price. Waitress bought bill and was sure to mention the service charge was optional. We paid it as the service was so good. My dog managed to slip his harness and went for a wander for 10 minutes! We found him being cuddled by the waitresses 🤣. All in all a lovely atmosphere. Great food. Great service. We will be back to see pictures of Basil the Sprocker 😊.

Food is excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My only negative would be the kids menu, which although equally tasty is a little limited/inflexible. View of the castle from the garden is great!

Amazing pub, amazing staff, phenomenal view for lunch of Corfe Castle and outstanding food. I highly recommend the ploughman's, the homemade scotch egg was the best I've ever had! Perfect location with secret entrance to Corfe Castle. Highly recommended.

Had a fabulous lunch at the greyhound in Corfe Castle today. Family of five with three young children. We were greeted quickly and shown to an available table. Service was friendly and speedy, Our food and drinks came really quickly and the food was of excellent quality. Two of my children had the fish and chips and said it was the best they had eaten. With the 10% discount for showing our swanage railway tickets it was outstanding value for money. We will definitely be back. Thanks

Pleasant atmosphere with the attractive backdrop of the corfe castle ruins. Really good service all round with quick and efficient service with a smile. Delicious food from a nice varied menu. They forgot our order of a jug of water but very quickly rectified this error after we told them it was missing. Overall amazing pub restaurant!!

We just had one of the best roasts we've ever eaten! The Greyhound on Easter Sunday was busy, the staff were friendly, service was quick, and the food was top notch. Great portions sizes and really beautifully cooked. Even our fussy 9 Yr old was happy! Totally worth the price, highly recommend!

Absolutely first class! We ordered Steak and Stilton pie with vegetables included. The food arrived quickly and it was wonderful. The pie was full of filling and the veg were plentiful and cooked beautifully. The pub is very clean and pleasingly decorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. 10 out of 10! We will be back soon.

The Greyhound Inn is a traditional pub located in the heart of Corfe Castle, Dorset. It has been serving food and drink since the 17th century and is now a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike. The pub has low ceilings, oak beams and stone floors. There are two bars, a main bar and a snug, as well as a large beer garden with stunning views of the castle. The food menu at The Greyhound Inn is extensive and features a wide variety of traditional British dishes, as well as some more modern options. There is also a good selection of pizzas and burgers. The pub has a reputation for serving excellent food and drink, and the staff are friendly. It is a nice place to relax and enjoy a drink or a meal after a day exploring the castle and the surrounding countryside.

We’ve eaten here twice while at Corfe Castle. Once we had a lovely half roast chicken between 2 in the courtyard on a sunny day - it was brilliant. And today, we were rescued by a lovely member of staff who went out of their way to seat us at an otherwise rammed restaurant, when our 6 year old was losing their mind (& we were on the verge of losing ours). Food is always great and service faultless

Excellent food, good selection of beers in a traditional Dorset pub and good service. Dog friendly too. The only thing which might put some people off (not us) is the automatic 10% service charge to every meal. Tbf, the server does tell you it's optional after they present you with the bill. Absolutely well worth a visit.

Pub
The Black Swan Inn is a charming traditional pub known for its real ales and comfort food. The cozy atmosphere features an open fire, exposed beams, and a patio garden. While some visitors found the food to be good but not exceptional, others praised the vast menu with lots of specials at reasonable prices. The friendly staff and great service added to the overall positive experience.
Where to begin. Lovely old pub that does really good food. Walkers and dog friendly, when we rocked up without reservations on a busy Sunday afternoon on a bank holiday. We sat in the their lush beer garden when the drizzle started and someone extended their canopy roof automatically from the kitchen. Really appreciated that, it was very kind. On top of that, we were given a thick towel😍 Food delicious, priced very reasonably. Thank you very much.
Beauty Bar — Google review
Small pub, with an amazing reputation, although its been a long time since I ate here. The beer was superb, and the food good; but overall I wasn’t going wow. My vegetables were superb, but the arancini not so much. My partner had a similar opinion with the fishcakes. In both cases OK but not wow. I will return to try again, because its a good pub with a superb reputation. Now, nothing to do with the Black Swan, but made me smile. In chef school, I was given an in depth lesson on cooking young swans. In no time at all my preparation was so good, it became my signet-ure dish.

Small but lovely pub with a vast food menu. Lots of specials to choose from and reasonably priced. It was a cold evening so had a lovely fireplace lit! Staff all friendly and welcoming. Had a small issue with allergies when the food came out - perhaps staff should check every table’s allergies before putting orders through. Other than that the burger was great but the chilli con carne was a bit dry.

Excellent food! The chef seems French and the quality and stuff size of the portions is superb. The service was excellent, great atmosphere, drinks and prices are very recent value for money. We will come back again. All the dishes in the picture are starters and ~6£ + dessert.

This became our go to local for a weekend staying in Swanage. Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. Ate here 2 nights in a row, it was that nice. Slightly off the beaten track out of town but worth the 10 minute walk. Large beer garden out the back. Would highly recommend paying this delightful pub and eatery a visit.

Great pub at the top of Swanage High Street. Our favourite in Swanage with friendly efficient staff. Good menu with daily specials, nice range of draught beers. Book early because it gets full, always a good sign. Nice garden to catch the setting sun.

Managed to nab a last minute table in the lovely garden. I had the pork shank and it was huge and amazing! Lovely staff, really well priced and good portions! The apperol could have done with an orange wedge, more ice and straw but overall we loved this meal!

Amazing haven with a lovely atmosphere and garden area. Food was brilliant and generous portions. Can not fault this place at all. Chef/owner welcoming and Informative. Any negative reviews I can only imagine are from rude ignorance folk who don't understand good food. If we could give 10 stars we would

Visiting friends and booked table. Didn't realise live music. Food was great but was spoilt by way too much gravy!! We asked for it to be separate as we don't like our roast swimming in gravy but it didn't turn up that way. Otherwise all good 👍

Amazing food with great service! This old pub looks amazing inside. The toilets were a little cold as you had to go outside to get to them and there is no heat but it suits the rustic atmosphere. The chef would pop out every now and then to talk to people just to see how they were enjoying their meal. It was very nice to see his smiling face. You can tell he really enjoys his career. 😃

A friend and I regularly go to Swanage for a 'steam and beer' weekend 😁 We usually go to the pubs more into the town centre but due to a poor experience on Friday night we decided to give the Black Swan a go and we're really glad we did. The pub was absolutely packed with diners on the Saturday but as it was a lovely evening we went into the nice garden. There was no delay in ordering our food and drinks - everything was perfect. The food came out quickly (which surprised us given how busy they were), was beautifully cooked and served with a smile. We're glad to have found this gem of a pub (and obviously many others have found it too!) but don't let that put you off - the service is friendly, efficient and the price is spot on. We'll definitely be back! 😃

Visited friends in Swanage over the weekend. Great company and weather . Visited the Black Swan for Sunday lunch. Great food, only spoilt by having our roast meal drowned in gravy when we'd asked for our gravy to be separate. Otherwise, really great roast . 😋

Superb food, absolutely delicious! The best in Swanage! Mussels in garlic, wine & cream sauce was scrumptious. Malay curry was really tasty. Lovely ambiance, pleasant staff. Good prices! Wish we had booked for more then one night , very busy and booked up. Live in Dorchester but well worth the hour drive. Will definitely return.

Lovely little find, me and a mate came down in the evening after work to walk a bit of the Jurassic coast tomorrow and found this place to eat. The staff were really friendly and the place was nice and cozy. It was also packed, which is always a good sign and we were glad we booked. Their menu was extensive and they had loads of specials, each course was spot on. They had a great selection of beer also, so full marks all round. Would highly recommend if visiting the area or even if you live here.

Shell Bay Seafood Restaurant is a popular casual dining spot near the beach with delicious seafood dishes and an ala carte menu. It also has bistro seating for light bites and desserts.
Sumptuous seafood in stunning location with a great vibe. They squeezed us in at the last minute, with kids and dog in tow! And we were so pleased they did. Food and wine were delicious. Kids meals went down well - pasta bolognese and a vegetarian dish. Adults ate seafood - oysters, scallops, mackerel and soup. Puddings were a treat. Will definitely return. We'll be sure to book next time!

We hadn’t had a chance to come back here for a few years, I was very happy to find that when we were in the area it had recently reopened after their winter break. The location is incredible, just across the road from Shell Bay. The kitchen is equipped with a wood fire grill and a wood oven. The menu isn’t huge but is very complete. We were in the mood for fish, so I ordered the plaice and my wife had lemon sole. Both arrived quickly, very well presented and (most importantly) delicious. I ordered a side of Jerusalem artichokes with truffle and Parmesan, which was very nice and abundant. Not having been in so long, I was very happy with the whole experience and will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

Such a gorgeous restaurant in a stunning location with lovely staff. Joe our waiter was so attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was so delicious - highly recommended the whole sea bass main and the brocoli, cabbage and artichoke sides.

It’s nice… but it’s not brilliant. Kids scored it 3/5 and the parents 4/5. £240 for us all with drinks and tip. Food was tasty but not fab - should be fab! Beautiful location. Cheerful service (although made a few mistakes). Clean toilets. Ridiculous sink/taps.

Friendly attentive service, spectacular view and superb food. Quote simply one of the best restaurants in the BCP area and probably the best fish restaurant. The location is perfect and much more accessible than you might think located just the other (Studland) side of the ferry. We actually caught the open deck bus from Westbourne and made a trip of it. Highly recommended if you want a fantastic fish restaurant, or just a special occasion.

Second review April 2023 - Having come across this previously on a hike from Swanage, this was the time we tried it properly. There were 6 of us and it was for my wife’s birthday. They looked after us well. We had nibbles, drinks, starters and mains, one person even had a pudding. The gravalax was really nice and the sea bream was great to, the bread is amazing so don’t underestimate how good it can be. More photos below. First review March 2023 - Came across this place whilst on a bit of a hike with a mate, we had eaten so much on the run up to coming here that we weren’t hungry enough for a full on lunch and I think we were lucky to get a table, definitely worth booking. So we just had a couple of starters, it’s quite pricey, but the food is lovely. The staff were very friendly and the setting is stunning. I’ve already booked again for my wife’s birthday, so I think that says how much I liked it.

So close to a 5* however being by the crossing makes driving here an absolute mare - such a shame! Beautiful setting once you're in, overlooking the sea with the boats, just beautiful! Staff were all speedy and attentive - we took our dog and he got loads of attention which he loves. The food was cracking, nice breads, amazing oysters and even better lobster, so so good! Great value for money too.

Amazing restaurant with fantastic views and really fresh and tasty seafood. Sat by the window and had lovely view, see photos 😇 ordered sea bass, sea bream and prawns and all were wonderfully cooked and lightly seasoned. It is a little bit pricey but well worth it for special occasion. I did order some bread and came on bill for £6! I casually mentioned is it really that much as it’s not even an item on the menu and to be fair the waiter said yeah it is over priced so will give on the house which was well played and meant they got a bigger tip from me. Came here on the ferry which was a nice experience but would recommend you come by foot as it’s £5.50 each way on car versus £1 if you travel by person! Then it was £5 parking in car park opposite but then discovered it’s free if you go down a bit and park on the side of the road! Lesson learned I guess but was a wonderful experience
Nick Wong — Google review
Fantastic location, but the food was very expensive. I don't mind paying high prices for exceptional food, but it was just 'good' food. The portion sizes were OK & the selection was good. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal (lemon sole, whole crab + sides) & we had a wonderful evening, but I feel the costs were higher than justified & that slightly soured the experience. The deserts were especially overpriced (£14 or so for a tiny slice of bought in baked cheesecake & the smallest portion of vanilla ice cream I have ever been served).
Nicky Brook — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Food super with great service. Great to visit an unpretentious restaurant serving lovely meals.
Darran Ward — Google review
I've been wanting to come here for quite a while. You can't fault the setting as it's beautiful. Unfortunately, the standard of food being served lets it down. Yes, it's expensive, but don't mind paying if the food warrants it. Don't know if we chose the wrong things or if the kitchen was having an off day. Prawn starter £16.50 for 5 on shell. Does not warrant that price at all. Once you take the shells off, they were no bigger than a thumbnail. Scallops £7.50 each and tasteless. Overcooked salmon in a tasteless broth with under cooked noodles, like eating straw. Staff were pleasant. Bitterly disappointed with the whole experience.

Italian restaurant
La Trattoria is a charming restaurant in Swanage that offers traditional dishes at night and serves breakfast and snacks in a Continental-style pavement cafe/bar. The restaurant has a clean, light, and airy ambiance with folding doors that open to the street, creating a continental feel. It's advisable to make reservations as the place tends to fill up quickly due to its popularity. The family-run business provides attentive service and hot, tasty food at an average price.
Lovely meal last night. Fortunately we booked as they were turning walk ins away as they were so busy. Food was excellent, especially the Pizzas. Specials selection was very good. Staff were accommodating with the kids. Would definitely return if we visit Swanage again

Chilled music, relaxing atmosphere alongside a beautiful green/red interior made for a very pleasant evening. It felt like an old-school Italian restaurant which was welcome. The service was excellent and there was no rush from the staff. However, after ordering a pizza each, we left the venue still hungry. The £15 pizzas were ok, nothing special and were so THIN that I could have easily had 2 myself. They were almost see-through and did not live up to the £15 price tag. Please make better sized portions!

We've been before a few years ago when we were last in Swanage. It was a beautiful sunny warm evening and they'd opened the folding doors so that the restaurant was open to the street, giving it a continental feel. Our reservation was for six pm and before long the restaurant was filling up. The restaurant is beautifully clean and light and airy. The food was excellent, to be recommended. We will certainly come here again!

Make a booking! Swanage was empty on the Sunday evening we were in town, but this place was packed! A lovely atmosphere, well decorated and friendly efficient service. the pizzas we both had were very tasty and well worth the reasonable price. Worth a visit. But book in advance!

a really relaxing family run Italian restaurant with a good menu, good price and an exceptional service. even though we hadn't booked they squeezed us in. (even if it was next to the ladies!) I highly recommend the restaurant but book if you can!
Steven Shepherd — Google review
To be honest, overpriced, and not very good food. If I was to guess, and I will, the pizza bases are bought from a supermarket and the toppings added. The menu may look to have a good selection, but, from what I was served, and what I saw others eat, poor quality. You would be better served popping over the road to the ship Inn, where I ate at the previous night, and the food was so much better. If you are going for an authentic Italian, this is not it.

We called in during our visit to Swanage. We were very pleased to get seated as we thought it may be too late to find food anywhere. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was really good too! The lasagne was delicious and perfect for a large appetite. We will come back if we’re ever in the area again.

We found out the hard way that in Swanage you have to book places for dinner. After trying many places to no avail, we walked into La Trattoria and were kindly squeezed in. The wine, starters and food were amazing. Was slightly disappointed with the Bruschetta being on their house garlic bread. Would have liked it on a different bread or told when we ordered that we’d essentially be having two lots of garlic bread but the overall experience and meal wasn’t dampened by this. Their pasta is delicious so highly recommend that. Definitely coming back when we return to the area and next time we’re booking!
Daisy Evans — Google review
It was OK. Very strange that you enter from the next door cafe. Food was simple Italian style fare. Nothing special. Main pasta was fine, but dessert was meh. Advertised as a Torte, it was a shop bought chocolate fridge cake, dinged in the microwave. I won't bother again.

This Italian was amazing! Proper cooked Italian food. Great choice on the menu. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The price was very reasonable too! If you are in swanage and fancy something different I would recommend visiting!!! We will be back again if you are in the area!!!

We visited here on a Saturday night and had pre booked which I would recommend as it's not very big inside and they were having to turn people away. It's a family run business and is simple in its layout. The staff were attentive during out visit with the food been hot and tasty. There is plenty of choice on the menu all at an average price. So if your visiting Swanage it's well worth a visit.

Beautiful Art Deco styling and quiet ambience (at least in the winter). Lovely colours and lighting. Nice pizza. Good wines. Sensible service. Some have had questionable experiences with pasta: penne carbonara… interesting. It felt like tough times having to actually order limoncello.

A good pizza place. Have been eating here for years and find it to be a reliably good pizza in a nice atmosphere. A range of other good dishes too but you should just get pizza. The bread and butter pudding dessert is also great. Surprisingly busy even in the off season so consider booking. Reasonably priced.

Located on Studland Bay, the Pig offers a restaurant with fabulous views over the sea and is decorated in an eclectic rustic-chic style. It also features individual therapy huts for guests to use.
Wow. What can I say? I am speechless... Probably one of the best lunches I have had in UK. The location is stunning with beautiful sea views, a garden and a lovely kitchen garden. We had lunch in the conservatory. The menu was very original, generous portions, beautiful plating, excellent seasoning and toppings, great wine list. Polite and friendly service, eclectic but pleasant decor. Wonderful.

An amazing house and outbuildings set in a beautiful location. We had warm, sunny weather for our visit too which was a bonus. Arrived early and had drinks and pizza out on the lawn in the sunshine. Our room was available early as well. Check in was quick, efficient and pleasant. The evening meal was very good. The piggy bites very tasty. Our plates were cleared! The Pig sets great store by serving produce they have either grown themselves or have sourced locally, usually within 25 miles. My only minor criticism is that a couple of times we asked for something and didn't quite what we had asked for. Now this was not disastrous and quite trivial, but just enough not to give the full five stars. In conclusion, it's a beautiful hotel situated in a wonderful location. I highly recommend it.

Lovely location with views out to sea. Lovely patio area to sit when the weather allows. Menu varied, we started with picky bits x 2, which we shared. Mains were perfectly cooked. Need to order sides. Desserts were perfect. look forward to returning. Booking is recommended. Service friendly but can be overlooked in busy times, very relaxing experience though. Sit back and relax.

This should have been much better and I’m afraid to say that I think this place has been overrated. The Pig on the Beach had been recommended many times and I was looking forward to taking my family there for a special meal and we had discussed justifying the cost. It could be a bit of an Emperor’s New Clothes situation whereby no one wants to admit that it’s not all amazing. The location and decor were gorgeous, yes. But there was no flow or continuity of service and the food was very average. Seating took an embarrassingly long time. The menu was not at all the mind-blowing selection of local provenance that I had been led to expect. Maybe we made bad choices, I don’t know. The asparagus had zero flavour. The beetroot was nice. The vegetable stew was very bland. The pork loin was cooked well but again lacking in flavour. The children’s steak portion was so full of nerve that a dog would have turned it down. If you go with little expectation and a large wallet you may do just fine.

Beautiful, comfortable room overlooking the garden and sea. Friendly staff and an amazing location. Lovely menu, a bit different to many restaurants, but not overly quirky. Comprehensive wine list. Not cheap, but you couldn't do better for a special occasion.

My partner stayed in this hotel chain many times but it was my first time. The location was great! See view! The restaurant was very elegant stylish and freshly made delicious foods. The service was excellent. The room was comfortable, warm and clean. The relaxing dining rooms in the hotel made me feel like at home! Thank you to all stuff and the hotel. We had an amazing few days right before Christmas. Now heading to Kent to spend the Christmas with our family with happy experiences.

Cannot fault our visit for an evening meal here. Service friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Food so tasty and well presented. And locally sourced too, of course.

After a long walk along the coast my sister and I stopped off at the outside bar on our way back and due to it being off season the bar had just shut. Two very kind bar men offered us a drink anyways and we loved watching the sunset in the gardens. We can’t wait to visit again and try the wood fired pizza! Thank you to the amazing staff who were super accommodating!

We had dinner here. Its always busy and has a great atmosphere with staff that really look after your every need. The best starter in the menu is the portland crab bake...tasted amazing. The onion tart, not so good, the onion was still crunchy and it lacked flavour. Mains were a lamb chop, tasty but a but dry and the Ox liver. The liver tasted great but the sauce had a touch too much acidity. Deserts, blood orange sorbet, absolutely delicious, and a almond tart, very tasty. So....Good food, but you need to choose carefully from the menu, some dishes are not as good as others. I suppose given its name, the menu is also very pork and meat in general focused, so quite heavy.

We went there for dinner last week and upon arrival, I realised that my reservation was booked for the next day! But the staff were very accommodating and we were able to have our dinner that evening. Very helpful, kind & polite staff. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was top point. Definitely worth visiting! :)

Called in here for breakfast, we were shown to the pizza bar in the garden (that also did breakfasts) what a view 😃 your sat looking out over Studland beach with its aqua blue sea and clear white sands it's just beautiful. Breakfast is served in a cast iron hot pan which dosent look very big at all but my goodness how filling, they serve the best sausage with this breakfast I think I have every had. There is no choice it is full breakfast meaty or vegan. Unfortunately they do not serve coffee from this bar with your breakfast which for me is a let down and something they should look at.

Haven't stayed here (no dogs allowed in hotel/restaurant) but we have enjoyed lunch a few times, most recently taking advantage of their Gardener's Autumn Gold lunch menu (3 courses for £29.50, which takes the food from expensive to good value). Whilst the service in the busy restaurant was just on the right side of my patience, the food (and cocktails) was outstanding. Highlights - chargrilled mackerel starter, pork loin and Poole Bay grey mullet mains and blackcurrant tart dessert. After-lunch coffee with the dog on the terrace taking in the view finished the experience off nicely. Roll on next year's Dorset trip!

Unique building with traditional country vibes in the most beautiful location. The venue's gardens look over Middle beach and the sea and are dotted with cute separate buildings. They grow their own vegetables in an orchard and have rooms and huts for guests. It makes a great venue for events especially in good weather and the staff is lovely. The restaurant and bar are separate with different opening times. Menu and prices are towards upscale.

Location: 5/5 Rooms: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Great location. Lovely feel. High quality furnishing. Really enjoyed both our stays here recently. One in a shepherds hut and another in the house. Such attention to detail with the interior design and furnishings gives it the feel their price demands. The only slight disappointment is the reception from the Eastern European lady on the front desk. I’m not sure customer service is her calling in life. The restaurant is like the rest of the hotel and ground, lovely. Food is nice but perhaps not the level you would expect given the level of accommodation. It is however fairly priced.

We didn't stay at The Pig on the beach. We booked to have lunch here, having been to one of the sister restaurants before. The location in Studland bay is stunning, from the restaurant there is a direct view of the sea and whether it's clear or overcast you can't beat the view. Even the gardens are lovely. Perfect spot or a drink by the sea. The staff are super friendly and kind. Now the food is the main event, it's fresh, tasty, well out together and thought out. Everything we ate was utterly delicious, from the bread to the gnocchi. While it's not the cheapest place (we went for my birthday) it's well worth it on an occasion. Especially given how yummy the desserts are!

Booked a table for my wife's birthday, On arrival we was pleasantly greeted and shown to a choice of tables. The staff we very friendly and helpful. The service, food and drink meet above expectations. I would highly recommend as a treat for a special occasion.

Location, food, views all great but underwhelming service... lots of staff but they didn't seem fussed/trained/attentive. About 5 lads on the empty bar and zero welcome, smiles, how's your day, if there's time to lean back and have a chat with your mates, there's time to give a half decent customer experience

Amazing views of old Harry's rock. Staff were really kind and accommodating. Our table wasn't available immediately so they brought us complementary nibbles. £200 for four of us to have starters, mains and a glass of wine each. The brocoli main is particularly delicious. Go check out their garden too as you can see where they grow all the veg. Pizza oven and garden are great and you don't need to book for either. Book if you want to sit in the main resturant though.

I was very disappointed when I was there Saturday night with my parents. The location is great, and the building is lovely however the service was very poor. The staff were nice and pleasant however ordering was a challenge the wait for drinks on the table was like 30 minutes. A complete lack of flow not really what you expected for this price point. I ordered the lamb but the portion sizing was way out of proportion for the price some vegetables to go with a small plate of meat would of solved it

Took my husband here for a birthday treat. From the moment we arrived I could tell it was not the same as a previous visit a few years ago. We were cordially welcomed but then left hanging around with staff moving by us with plates of food. It felt awkward and really we ought to have been invited to take a seat. We were finally ushered to our table and had 2 sommeliers and two waiters attend to us which was a bit confusing. Next we were served with our starter but no bread. Other tables were being offered it but they missed us, no idea why. The food was not anything to write home about and for the price pretty poor value. Don’t go for the chips; they were bad. We watched as the next table had a birthday treat which I was led to believe my husband would get too. But no, nothing. Just the bill. I did inform the staff member that the inattention was poor and did not pay the service charge. We didn’t bother with dessert and next time will go elsewhere for a special occasion. Or just generally.

Booked a table for dinner at the restaurant as I have planned to propose to my now fiancée at the nearby walking trails on the day. The team at the hotel paid attention to my special occasion and had definitely done above and beyond to celebrate with us, and had given us a very present surprise! I would like to thanks the team again for such amazing, personal hospitality.
