Museums
The Museo Archeologico "Ferruccio Barreca" - MAB Sant'Antioco Sardegna may be small in size but it boasts a wealth of historical artifacts and information. Visitors can combine their visit with other archaeological sites such as Tophet, Necropolis, Acropolis, Ipogeo and Vine Museum. The staff provides a brief introduction (in Italian) and share intriguing details about the area's rich history.
Very clean and nice building. Only few people visits so it is quiet.

Magical historic place. The tour is very Interesting. The guide explained in a easy and complete way the whole complex and history. Very much recommended

It's a small museum, but it has a lot of history to tell! We combined the visit with the other archaeological sites (Tophet, Necropolis, Acropolis, Ipogeo, Vine Museum). The staff did a brief introduction (in Italian) and explain us a lot of interesting things about Sant'Antioco and its archaeological finds. We didn't have a lot of time to see every detail, but you can spend here a couple of hours to learn the history of the island.

Very good regional archeiligical museum with many information about local ancient history. The phoenician tophet is a part of the museum.
Vladimíra Šilhánková — Google review
One would not expect much from an almost unknown museum in such a small town. Hence we had a great surprise with this nicely set up museum, where, among other things, one can observe a stunning amount of Phoenician vases and ornaments and a wonderful couple of lions that make a link with the art of Assyrian and Babylonian civilizations that you can admire in the British Museum, depicting the Mediterranean as a great cultural bridge already 3 millenia ago. The museum attendant was also friendly and helpful. Texts are available in Italian and English. There is also an audio-guide but we did not use it.
Davide Sabbadin — Google review
Rich Indoors exhibition of local archeology. Mostly 9th century and on, lots of finds from Phonecian period, including jewelry, inscriptions in ancient Hebrew/Phoenician letters, temple/cemetery of children and sacrificial tombs. Unique.
avi cohen — Google review
Great museum, does a great job of explaining the exciting settlement history of Sulki aka Sant'Antioco, spanning nuragic, phoenician, punic, roman and post-roman history. The content displays are insightful, the artefacts are well contextualized and there are also nice visuals of the town in the different stages of its history. Even the kids weren't bored, which says a lot for a museum
Dirk Stascheit — Google review
Small and very rich archeological museum. Exhibits from prehistoric periods until classical Rome. Emphasis on Phoenician and Punician settlements in Sardinia. Very interesting. Near the "Tophet", where children were sacrificed according to Paganic beliefs. Wow!

The place is highly sought after by photographers because of its west-facing location, which provides excellent opportunities for capturing stunning sunsets. Mineral Art and Mineralogy Museum

Specialty Museums
The Museo dell'Arte Mineraria offers guided tours in both Italian and English, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about the mining industry in the Iglesias region. The museum used to be a mining school and showcases the local history of the industry. It is recommended that visitors call ahead to arrange a tour on days when the museum is closed, as short notice tours are possible.
The museum is located in the very center, where free parking is quite difficult to find. That's why we chose the parking lot of the retail chain and with some luck found the entrance to the museum. The museum consists of three large halls, in which showcases with specimens of minerals, fossils and industrial archaeological finds are exhibited. The museum collection includes almost 3,800 mineralogical, petrographic and fossil finds from all over the world, enriched by a collection of around a hundred archaeological finds originating from mining activities, from the Nuragic, Phoenician-Punic, Roman, Pisan and Aragonese medieval periods. A collection of finds that represents the identity of the Iglesiente area and brings together didactic, mineralogical and paleontological collections composed of local minerals and fossils and specimens from deposits spread over a regional, national and global territory. OK, it's "information from the web", so I'm not adding my own knowledge. Thanks for the info. Worth a visit. VERY, VERY, friendly staff!!!! Thank you for your engagement and effort. In any case, everything was OK. We recommend!!

Restaurant
Ristorante da Andrea al Cavallera, also known as Osteria della Tonnara, is a simple yet specialized restaurant located on the waterfront of Carloforte with stunning views of the harbor and salt pans. The first-floor dining area offers a chance to spot flamingos that inhabit the area. The menu features an array of tuna-based dishes such as cassulli with tomato, pesto and tuna, mantecati with bottarga from the tonnara, and trenette.
Best restaurant on Isola di San Pietro hands down. Food is marvelous, tuna based dishes are a must, 5 stars level, you can see (and taste!) the hundreds years old expertise of the people of this island. Ingredients are fresh and the selection of wine is huge. Staff is very friendly and professional, the venue is a mixuture of historic and modern elements, really cool. In summer time book it in advance as it is super busy.
Dario Casabella — Google review
Having read such favourable reviews, my wife and I were excited to visit Andrea al Cavallera. Unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing meals we’ve had. Upon realising we hadn’t made a reservation for a mid week lunch in September, our waiter was hostile from the beginning. I think it’s important to note that the other staff seemed pleasant, I think we were just unlucky. The food itself was bland and unenjoyable, the 8 dish starter was poor, the octopus dish was an experience I won’t be rushing to repeat in this life time, the rest was simply unremarkable. The seafood spaghetti was ok, but certainly not to the standard one expects in this price range. All in all, average.
Paddy — Google review
A wonderful experience for your palate. We were lucky to still be able to attend while the restaurant served the local tuna. Personally, I thought the pasta was absolutely divine, but honestly everything was great. A pity the other customers were loud and somewhat crass.
Domenic — Google review
This place is the best restaurant I have been to so far, in Italy. The service was impeccable, the dishes were fine, elegant, not too sophisticated and incredibly good. The lasagna Al Tonno, (tuna fish being the specialty of the island) was genuinely amazing. One of the best dish I had in my life. The staff was extremely nice and professional I recommend this place 100%

I would recommend anyone staying in Carloforte to have diner in this amazing restaurant. The food is very tasty, refined, with local products. I would specifically recommend the “ventresca di tono” and the honey ravioli with ricotta for desert. The service is also excellent, very nice and attentive staff.

Nice place to have a degustation of tuna in all ways you can imagine. We tried several starters and I'm not sure which one was my favorite because all of them were really good.
Mar MS — Google review
I never use the racism card as I choose to believe people’s good intentions and heart but unfortunately I can’t shake this feeling. It’s my third time in adstringia and each time I stay for a week and we tend to eat out every night. Every time I tried to get a table at Lá Andrea, on my own or accompanied of my husband, we were refused with the excuse they were full even though we could see perfectly well many empty tables. Before you come to their defence, as I’ve also done when my husband disbelieved they were full, each time we walked past after having eating somewhere else, nearly tolice to close, the same tables were still empty. I would never mention it or make such a hatred accusation if I wasn’t really certain. There were 5 occasions when I was present and we were refused and two we got the table but I had to arrive after everyone had been sat and in both occasions I felt rushed and ignored and one of the time they even forgot my order. I have to say O won’t be coming back. All my experiences, either when I got a table or not, where horrible. The waitresses are rude, smoke and talk on their phones by the entrance while we are left waiting to be served or is refused table due to being busy! I would never recommend to anyone. There are many nice places in the island to be bothered trying to give them a chance!

If you're in the mood for some good Italian pizza and your own craft beers, Rubiu - Birrificio Artigianale e Brew Pub is the place to go. The pizzas are delicious and well-made, and the brewer does a great job with his own beers. It can be busy, but it's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for some quality Italian food and drinks.
Great pizza and nice beers locally brewed.
Camille Reverdy — Google review
This is definitely something different in a more traditional Sardinian town, so credit to the owners. However its not your typical craft brewery as you may know from US, UK, or many other places as its ‘by appointment’ and not just ‘drop in’. By that I mean it focuses on the food offering - which is really very good if you do compare to typical craft breweries - so its more pizza, platters and beer than the other way around. In saying that, they have done an amazing fitout of the place (which is a good 15mins walk out of town) which is really modern in this traditional area. Obviously very popular with the locals given the amount people eating (and some just drinking) on a Wednesday evening in mid-late April. Staff speak English but you can connect to the multi-language menu (incl beers) via QR code. Although they advertised free WiFi in the door, the host told us the don’t have it so something they can fix. Now onto the best part: the beer. That’s what you come for right? (Although food is very good!) Great selection of beers of all different styles so something for everyone. All are quite high in alcohol and all are locally brewed so don’t expect bland mass market lagers here! I started and stayed on the Mosiac (Summer Ale) which was the equivalent of a solid Pale Ale. 5.3% alcohol so not crazy (some are 7.6%) but really nice. I finished with Cent (American Porter) which was heavy but nice way to finish. Cost is way more expensive than local bars but you get what you pay for so definitely worth it if you like craft beers. We had a great night for around €60 so still super reasonable. Overall a really good experience for both beers and food, so highly recommend an evening. Book ahead to secure a table but they do have 8 seats at the bar for drinks so you can drop in (during fairly limited opening hours).

Nice pizzeria with a really good craft beer! The pizza is ok and the beer taste is awesome! The pain point is the service! The waiters disappeared after they brought your the ordination! I left the pizzeria before the desert and the amaro because nobody came to take the order. I can not advice this pizzeria because the craft beer that Rubiu produce it is possible to find in other places.
Giuseppe Pittalis — Google review
If you are naerby and you feel like having a perfect beer or eat some damn good pizza, you need to get here. They make their own beers and it is just perfection. Pizza is also high quality. I chose one with sardinian sausage and cheese and it was nice experience. The place is popular, crowded almost. One star is missing beacuse our waitress seemsed to be not in the mood and a little bit rude.
Michalina P — Google review
If you are searching for a good quality pizza and a selection of beer that is different from the industrial ones you find anywhere on the island, then this is your place. I cannot give five stars because of the following reasons: (1) the waitress who took our order was particularly unwelcoming, (2) once we had the pizza, we had to wait for too long without getting any attention, at last we called them, (3) the semifreddo of pistacchio was too cold and therefore one could not taste the pistacchio so well, I started to appreciate it only towards the end. In my opinion, this is common knowledge that the semifreddo should stay out of fridge for at least 5 to 10 minutes, before being served. The rest of the staff was very warm and professional, except for the mentioned waitress.
Sara Malick — Google review
The pizza is good enough, although not really a special one. However, they have quite a choice of typical specialties based on local ingredients. The place is more famous for their craft beers, which are numerous, varied and all interesting to taste. Some of their beers have won national craft beer prizes, so people come from all over Sardinia - and beyond - to taste them. Beware of the acoustics of the dining room, that is definitely bad, so that the place is very noisy when it's somewhat crowded. The service is usually quick and kind, especially for the pizzas, which are prepared and served breathtakingly fast!
Carlo Scibilia — Google review
We planned our visit well ahead due to the current situation (download app, inform about beers and food, make reservation). We ordered two different pizzas which were good but not too special. But since this is supposed to be brewery we were looking forward to taste the beer. Unfortunately, two out of four beers we ordered were not available. Instead of offering an alternative the waitress walked away. I ended up having 3 different beers of which one was very good the other two were average. The service is not too friendly and not very efficient.
Ya dam — Google review
This used to be a true artisan beer brewery, and in the past they have won several prizes at various beer competitions multiple years in a row. Unfortunately their success has driven up demand and instead of staying true to their artisan way of making beers they add SUGAR to their beer, therefore their beers are as artisan as an Ichnusa, its all about quantity instead of quality with them today.
Antoni “Antek” Baranski — Google review
we came for the beer and stayed for the pizza. excellent choice of craft beer, modern restaurant with a nice vibe to it. great food with the possibility to "build" your own pizza with a great choice of local produce such as cheeses and antipasti. would have given 5 stars if the staff hadn't been a little bit forgetful of our table (we were, for a while, the only guests on the terrace). still, great experience, would come again!

I thoroughly enjoyed the entirety of my dining experience at Ittiturismo Cooperativa I Due Fratelli in Sant'Antioco. The cuisine was exceptional, with delectable dishes such as Cozze Alla zuppa that had a fantastic sauce and Spaghetto with shrimps that left a lingering taste in my mouth even after four days. For the more adventurous, they also offered fried anemones that had an early and briny flavor which I surprisingly loved.
The place for the most fresh fish and seafood! Cooking is basic but tasty

We loved every bit of the food served in this restaurant. Cozze Alla zuppa were delicious (fantastic sauce), il Spaghetto with shrimps fantastic (I still have the taste in my mouth after four days). And for those who dare they have fried anemones, very early and brine taste, but loved them.
Arthur Kadar — Google review
The food in this place was a dissapointment. Octopus salad as starter was great, we split one because we were not that hungry, portion was good. Strong start! Staff was pleasant. However the main dishes were simply awful, tasteless, completely bland. I had the Gulf Fry (picture below), the thing had zero taste and was likely from frozen stuff (menu warned about that), however it was extremely bland and if someone blinded me and served me rubber I wouldnt be able to tell the difference. My spouse had swordfish which was similarly dissapointing, fries were not great either.. Vegetable salad was ok, not much to be ruined there… We had great bottle of Karmis cuvee.. If you do decide to come here, the mussels looked good, however we didnt have them..
Martin Madry — Google review
This seafood restaurant is generally very well appreciated by both local and tourists. The food quality is good, and the freshness of the ingredients is generally guaranteed, as the restaurant is related to a local fishing cooperative. However, the dishes are always just the classic local ones, with a poor rate of variations. The location is very nice, especially at the tables on the outdoor terrace, which is really just in front of the sea, with a very nice view, particularly with daylight. The table service is very friendly, but sometimes not much attentive to the needs of the patrons. For example, if you miss a fork or a knife, or the bread for that matter, no one notices, and you really need to point it out to the waiters. Generally recommended, although not so special as it used to be.
Carlo Scibilia — Google review
From my experience not the best mussels in sardegna, but not bad at all. Not a bad place :). I visited on a busy weekend evening, so if you wish to have a table outside, make sure to have a reservation. The Ristorante a Galaia offers a delightful dining experience with its diverse menu options. While the pasta a la carlofortina may not be as impressive as it seems, the pasta with pesto and lime is highly recommended. The antipasti di mare and tonno are excellent choices, and both the primi and secondi courses are consistently terrific across all menus. However, the fritte dishes, which consist of fried items, may not live up to expectations.
Excellent somelier and an interesting wine list. By his recommendation I got the domina lunae which is a canonau (red grape) made as a white wine. Interesting and amazing wine. The mirto marinated, pistachio encrusted tuna steak is absolutely recommended, ask the staff to see if they have it! Great service and food

Amazing food, the staff looks a bit disorganised, I have been asked to wait 30 minutes and once back again I have been asked to wait for further 30 minutes.

None of the dishes we ordered were available and we were advised other dishes that in the end were way more expensive, after about 20min my partner got his main and I got my side, then 15 min later I got my main (he had already finished eating) but his side didn't arrive so we had to ask for it again. Needless to say he ate his side after he had finished his meal. The food was nothing to write home about, lacked seasoning, and for 45€ we wished the cooks had put a bit of passion into it. The waiter acted as if he was doing us a favour when taking care of us. I don't usually like leaving bad reviews but this was not a very good experience overall.

I hope this is read as an invite to do better and not as mere criticism. Food was nothing special but still ok, and the main courses (fish) were served with no side at all so we ordered it. A big note to a 5 euro vegetables side dish, containing exactly 5 tiny slices of vegetables (1 euro per slice of aubergine and such??). Adding I had to return it as there was dirt in the dish, and still it came back with 5 tiny slices, and it showed up in the bill. Not a smart move.

Excellent - nothing else to add. Jokes aside, a couple of things: the pasta a la carlofortina is not as good as it seems. Rather take the pasta with pesto and lime which is great. For the rest, the antipasti di mare / tonno are excellent, the primi and secondi are terrific in all menus, except perhaps for the fritte (which are just, well, fried stuff). The service is very nice and we had a very good time (a group of 20 people mind you - all plates hot and well made). The "vino della casa" was good as well. Just dont expect the coffee in menus: it is not written in there...but you can always ask nicely and it may come :-)

A few Sundays ago, I went on a motorbike trip to Sant'antioco and visited Ristorante da Silvana. The restaurant is conveniently located along the isthmus that leads to the village of Sant'antioco. They don't offer an a la carte menu; instead, they have a fixed menu priced at 35 euros which includes various appetizers such as beans, chickpeas in wet and mussel soup - all of which were quite enjoyable.

Excellent menu based mostly on quality seafood. Pleasant location with outside tables and sun shades. Really near to the Sant'Antioco lagoon, but with no view from inside the restaurant. Simple table set-up and informal service. The staff is not really amiable, but the service works well. Reasonable prices, given the fact that the menu is very rich. Few choices for vegans.

This is a casa del Popolo style gastronomy, with fixed menus. We tried almost everything here and find the quality more than acceptable. Every now and then, you might find a fish that is not perfect: for example ready ragú did not have enough meat. The portions are very big and the staff is kind.
