Cultural landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Phare de Men Ruz is a cultural landmark situated along the coastal path, featuring rocky promontory with large boulders and a lighthouse made of pink granite. The area is known for its magical and awe-inspiring beauty, especially during sunset when the light hits the rocks in a priceless way. Even on cloudy days, the place remains impressive, offering visitors an opportunity to walk around the point and witness all its unique rock formations.
Stunning views! If you like a good walk with beautiful scenery, this is definitely for you. I went here on the weekend, and while it was busy, it did not take away from the experience.

Beautiful place to visit. We went on a cloudy day and it was still impressive. If you have the time, do the walk around the point to see all the rock formations. It's worth it, we finished on the village for an ice-cream and that was perfect. Bring a coat for the wind and an umbrella because the rain can start and stop quickly.

Oh, the people now, and with the heat, and masks.. Definitely not the time to visit this place. But nevertheless - i really really liked it. So impressed by the huge boulders. And the colours. Magnificent. Also, it's great to visit it in both - high and low tide. With low tide you can explore so much more, with high - see the waves in all its glory.

Awesome place! We are staying at the nearby campsite and we have walked the trail every evening before going to bed. It is so magical. The first time our jaw dropped to the floor. It is like giants placed pebbles in random order on the seashore. Tip: go here at sunset, that is after 20:30 in June. The place is almost empty and the way the light hits the rocks is priceless. A must see!

Very nice lighthouse with the rose stones. Lots of places to take nice pictures

We much enjoyed walking to the Phare de Men Cuz. You have a great view over the coastline and sea. Especially on the afternoon close to sundown you have great light for photo shootings.
Enrico Neuber — Google review
Easy to park, stunning views, well worth a visit
Mandy F — Google review
Worth the visit more for the natural setting less for the phare itself, i found... or perhaps we are visiting with kids. They’ll climbing around, keep an eye on them though. If you’re fit, go back through the rocks instead of the same way back but be super careful, if in doubt or not in a good physical shape then avoid it.

ibis Styles Saint-Malo Centre Historique

Mentioned on
Hotel
The ibis Styles Saint Malo Centre Historique is a budget hotel with free Wi-Fi and breakfast. It has a bright bar and a video game area for kids.
Stayed for 2 nights to explore the city, perfect location, reception staff very friendly and helpful in finding places to eat and see.
sparcs1970 chapman — Google review
IBIS staff extremely friendly. However, there was no internet on any day of our stay. Furthermore, the hotel charged 9 euros for 2 cups of tea!!! I suggest a complimentary tea at reception. Saint Malo has freezing winds.
LUCIANO SELISTRE — Google review
Excelent location, comfortable bed and breakfast included. The room was small with very narrow passage (the 2 beds took most of the space) and the bathroom was modern with good water pressure for the shower. Dogs are allowed for 12 euros per night.
A. Barroca — Google review
Clean, comfy beds. In a beautiful location. A little noisy when sleeping as it’s right in the thick of it. No air con in the rooms or lift.

A wonderful hotel inside the walls! A very cosy place with excellent breakfast and very helpful staff (special thanks to Nicolas: thanks for all your kindness and help). I was there with the family and we had a wonderful experience living like pirates inside a fortified city.

Excellent location, lovely decoration and friendly staff. Very good option for a stay in Saint-Malo...!
Cesar Gutierrez — Google review
The hotel has comfortable rooms and breakfast was adequate. The only issue is that the lift is very small; the stairs are quite narrow but apart from that a good choice.
Robert Benham — Google review
The rooms are very clean and tidy and the service was great! Reception is nice and gives a good vibe. The location is good but there is the occasional loud vehicle.
Andrew Stewart — Google review
A small but clean room, the stair hallway and corridors were too compact (not that easy at all if you had a few luggage) as the elevator was too. The reception staff particularly the man was very accommodating and helpful. The resto staff for breakfast lacked friendliness; they were too serious, no smile at all - maybe very tired from the previous peak season! Hotel situated very near the restos, shops and port. Parking for the hotel was 100 meters away, for public use and we paid 8 euros (less than 24hrs).
Deb Bie — Google review
Perfect location. Really helpful and friendly staff. Sound isolation of the rooms could be better. From street to room OK but between rooms: 3/10. Room was clean and exactly what you can expect.
Kris De Wilde — Google review
The hotel location is excellent and the staff there was professional and helpful at all times. Great service, our room was a good size and clean. Perfect for a few days in St Malo.
emma gernez — Google review
No health passes checked. The quiet room was very noisy. The only view I had was of the rampart wall. Towels not changed and although it advertised mineral water in the room we had 1 small bottle on the first day. The only pluses were the staff were excellent and the breakfast was good. Not up to the usual Ibis standard. Would not go there again

Restaurant
French restaurant
Located in Saint Brieuc, near St Brieuc, l'Horizon is an extraordinary restaurant that offers a variety of delicious French meals. This unique establishment also boasts a bar where patrons can unwind with freshly brewed beer and other alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. With its unusual decor and incredibly friendly staff, this traditional restaurant in the heart of Brittany serves homemade dishes made with fresh and organic ingredients.
So delighted to have found this restaurant in Saint Brieuc - Côtes d’Armor, Brittany. After searching for suggestions on Google / TripAdvisor we’ve decided to give this one a try based on previous reviews and SO happy we did! We would’ve massively missed out on an authentic, memorable French experience otherwise. Our evening at L’Horizon was a genuine highlight of our France holiday. We’ve had such a wonderful time there and are so grateful to the staff who have gone above and beyond and have put so much passion and love into what they do! L’Horizon ticks every box you could possibly think of in terms of a restaurant and more. It scores 110% for ambiance, outstanding service and most importantly - exceptional food, all at a very reasonable price. All in all, amazing value for money! The only minus is that it’s not closer to our home in London so we could become regulars and bring all of our friends! The food menu offers a wide variety of completely homemade options (including their perfect pastry crusts), with loads of fresh and locally sourced ingredients. That really translates in the taste - it tasted like nowhere else. There is a wide range of choices for every type of dietary requirements as well as some organic dessert & drink options. We’ve tried quite a few of the dishes and drinks and were blown away with how each and every single one of them tasted (individually and as part of a dish). Oh and did I mention that there’s fantastic homemade ketchup!? Or those mouth-watering homemade pastries that you get right before your meal? And that special “L’Horizon” drink which was a perfect mix of delicious wine and fruit syrup? I’m hungry again just by writing this review. Thank you so much L’Horizon, we’ll definitely be back for more next time!

Super restaurant/museum/mad house, home made dishes. Déco is impressive, I loved it so much with all the cut out stands you can take photos with. Table beside us took photos with the cut out of the queen, exclaiming "ah c'est Elisabeth !" When they saw her. Food portions are huge, very generous so be either very hungry or be less greedy. I think for small eaters you could even be full just from the entrées. Food takes time to be served but to be expected for home made food and we were a table of 5. Service was warm and friendly, and there was a cute cat who will come to you with big eyes begging for food, be strong and resist.

The exceptional content of the plate, only local products, perfectly cooked home-made, generous portions I took the same dish a second time, before dessert. A 1st for me. Everything was heavenly. Not to spoil anything, the staff is really very friendly and professional, the atmosphere is really special, like the decor. If I could I would have awarded a very deserved 6th star. Gastropub
Les Triagoz is a gastropub located right by the sea, perfect for romantic lunches. The food is excellent, with chicken and salmon club sandwiches being the two standout dishes. Unfortunately, they don't speak English, but the staff are able to order everything using hand signals or signs. The kids' meal comes with a burger that's just as delicious as it sounds!
Right by the beach in Tregastel. Fabulous place to have a drink & while away some time in the sun. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food.

2 minutes after we were seated the waiter (manager?) asked what we wanted to eat. We kindly asked for some time to decide. After a very brief time he asked again and we, of course, we're not ready yet. He whispered "still not ready" and left. This started a very unfriendly experience. We waited 1 hour for our main dish which was not even hot anymore. Very disappointing unfortunately. Place seems understaffed and the waiter was unbearable.

Being a fishing town, I was looking forward to some local seafood. I ordered the sea bass & received one solitaty filet and a little risotto, nicely cooked but at €26 it would want to be. Really expected a little more generosity, which led to comparing a whole grilled sea bass, with fresh salad and potatoes overlooking the sea in Nazare Portugal...for €14. Would recommend that any day.

Located on the brilliant seafront of Ploumanac H 137 rue St. Guirec in Perros-Guirec, this upscale hotel offers spectacular views of the bay of Saint-Guirec, which is adorned with a distinctly designed environment. The Castel Beau Site is one of the most beautiful places to retreat to enjoy the charms of Brittany. However we found that some dishes served were warm and overly salty, and quantities sometimes reduced (lack of accompanying accompaniments).
Set on Brittany's Pink Granite Coast, this upscale hotel is a 9-minute walk from the Ploumanac'h lighthouse and 3.7 km from Aquarium Marin de Trégastel. The modern rooms and suites have light oak floors, partial sea views, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Air-conditioning is not available. Upgraded rooms offer full sea views, and suites add living areas and terraces. Amenities include a gourmet restaurant serving regional fare, and a chic champagne bar with light bites. There's also an outdoor hot tub overlooking the sea, and a spa offering massage and other services. Pets are welcome, and parking is offered (fee). Bike rentals are available.

All in all we had a wonderful stay at the "castel beau site" the rooms are large enough and fairly modern the view to the sea just breathtaking staff is helpful and very friendly food is fine and fresh but there is one clear no-go: when we arrived it really rained like "**ll". but instead of someone coming to help us with the luggage and maybe bring along an umbrella.....the front office manager (himself with an umbrella of course) just came quickly outside to tell us to repark our car....no need to say that we had to lift our luggage ourselfs into the hotel-lobby and that we had a nice cold shower by the time we checked-in. come.. on.....this cannot be the way you welcome people in a hotel of such a standing

Nice setting and special decoration: pots and pans hanging from ceiling, odds and ends scattered over the place. More a pub that serves food as well than a typical restaurant. Great tapas, correct prices, nice host. Without fault.

We wanted to have dinner at the restaurant during our round tour through the Bretagne. I had a fish soup , my husband a medium entrecote. As I received a metal bowle for the soup in advance I already was suspicious. When the soup came I really was disgusted, whole Gambas and other fishes in there, I was not able to eat it. The meat from the plate of my husband was not eatable . He could not even cut it, the fork bended and the knife did not cut, the meat was terrible. But the reaction of the owner topped our experience: they countered that they eat this too, we had to pay the full price!! This was not the French quality we experienced so far. Really not Recommendable at all!!!!

Solid place. The harbor is one of our favorites. Stopped in for a quick meal before hitting a punk concert at the nearby cafe. Had the Sovoyarde and Fromagere crepes - both delicious! In traditional French style, a reservation is strongly recommended (we were lucky to get a table at dinner time), pay at the cashier near the entrance, and tip is included in your check.
