Shelter Restaurant is a modern wooden house with a charming outdoor patio that offers elevated bistro cuisine made from local ingredients. Regardless of the weather in Tofino, this bustling restaurant ensures all your needs are met. Their menu features a variety of dishes ranging from seafood delicacies to more casual options.
Loved the food here! The fish tacos were amazing. Loved the pork rind. The tuna tataki were also very flavorful. The fish and chips was a slight let down, the fish seemed a little on the mushy side. The fries were pretty standard as was the slaw. We sat in the booth, so there was quite a bit of distance between everyone.

The food was good! My husband had the yellow curry seafood dish and I had the seafood chowder. We had to wait quite awhile before a waitress came to our table even for our drink order and we saw wait staff standing around. However, once we were served it was all pretty fast. We got the perfect table by the water and inside where we could watch Diego the seal swim around. The atmosphere was worth the wait on service!

We made a reservation ahead of time, and it might have been worth it. We showed up around 6:30 and it was pretty busy inside. We were promptly seated, and read the menu ahead of time. So we ordered and the food showed up very fast, I was surprised. Tasted great. Service was a 4 out of 5, as once the table was cleared of our meals, we sat there for quite a bit before we could get our bill. Atmosphere could have been a 10 out of 5. Great location, and inside was nicely decorated around Christmas and real candles. Back in Vancouver, most restaurants are using the battery powered ones, just not the same. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

If we could put 10 stars we would. Everything was amazing: tuna stack and kale/salmon salad were awesome. Beautiful views (thanks Diego, the sea lion for the show!!). Best of all was our knowledgeable, engaging and total Jude Law look alike server, Dave from Wales, a total rock star!! Thanks 🙏 we’ll definitely be back. Jay & Lisa

Absolutely incredible meal! We ordered the Izakaya Salad, tuna tataki, shrimp & mussel fettuccine, and the seared wild sockeye salmon. The portions were huge and the flavours were just perfect… loved the ambiance and the patio area is stunning with the view. They had the heaters going and it was so toasty. Could not have asked for a better meal!

You NEED to stop here!! The food was excellent. Our server was great! She explained things and gave great recommendations. This was the first time I tried Lingcod, and loved it. I can see why thy are a busy spot. We did stop without reservations and they were able to accommodate the four of us, however I would recommend calling ahead so your not disappointed. Our son who is a picky eater told us the kids Mack and Cheese is actually good. From him that is rare!

Great food, great view, good drinks. I had red curry seafood and it was very good. Portion was large enough for me. Very tasty. Good presentation. The place is quickly packed though so you might want to book or eat at the bar counter - which is fine as the counter was quite large. Life is good in Tofino. :)

We had a wonderful dining experience at Shelter restaurant. What I loved most was the ambience of the restaurant. In the evening, the indoor dining area was lit by oil lamps, dim spot lights, and a fireplace while the patio was lit by propane heaters. Such created a cozy atmosphere overlooking the harbour. The food was tasty and filling. We enjoyed the salmon, mussels and shrimp pasta, and two tuna dishes alongside a calamari appetizer and chocolate dessert. Although the restaurant was full the night we went, the food arrived quickly and our server was attentive.

During the daylight hours, the landscape offers a pleasing and enjoyable view, adding an extra dimension to the dining experience. However, it's the transformation that occurs as night falls that truly brings out the charm of the patio area. The evening ambiance takes center stage, creating an inviting atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding and enjoying a meal. As for the culinary offerings, we had the opportunity to sample both the beer selection and two dishes from the menu. While they were undoubtedly good, showcasing a commendable level of quality, they didn't quite manage to achieve the status of excellence that we were hoping for. The beer delivered a refreshing taste, and the dishes were skillfully prepared, but there was a certain element that prevented them from truly standing out. In conclusion, the establishment offers a dual appeal with its scenic daylight views and alluring evening patio atmosphere. The beer and dishes provided a satisfactory dining experience, although they didn't quite reach the pinnacle of excellence that we had anticipated.

Had dinner at this lovely restaurant by the water in Tofino, and it was such a unique experience. The ambiance is truly special, lit entirely by candles, which creates a warm and intimate setting that’s hard to find elsewhere. The theme they’ve gone for is spot-on and adds so much character to the dining experience. The food was decent, hitting the spot and complementing the overall vibe of the place. What made our visit even more enjoyable was the friendly and informative staff, who shared that the owner also runs another restaurant in town with a similar concept. It’s great to see such creativity and consistency in hospitality and dining experiences. Would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in Tofino and looking for a dinner spot with a difference.

We were visiting Tofino for a few days and decided to head to Shelter for some nice seafood. Everything on the menu seemed so amazing that we had a hard time choosing, but thanks to our kind waiter with strong opinions on salmon (😉) the choice was easily made! Amazing salmon with risotto, would definitely recommend! Restaurant has an amazing atmosphere. We didn't book upfront, but we got to sit at some lounge-chairs next to the window with a view on the harbor which was extra cozy. Thanks a lot for your amazing service and food.

It was a cold when we went but they have a lot of outdoor heaters so we were able to enjoy the fresh air and not have to be inside. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The price is fair and the quality of the food is good. It's just a little out of the main street but it's worth stopping if you want a nice lunch. The restaurant is quite big. The interior is large and a very nice decent sized terrace as well. There was about a 30 minute wait when we went but I have the feeling it's normal.

Great place to relax after a long day of... Driving, surfing, being a parent (delete as appropriate). Great food. All items were delicious and inventive. Drinks were great too and service was good, though a few too many 'how's your meal' interruptions; one ask was 2 seconds after our food was put on the table! Great atmosphere. So what is it with multiple tip options with a minimum of 18%?!! Just charge the right amount for the food to pay staff and if we wish, we'll tip on top.

Had a great evening at the Shelter Restaurant. We had been here 4 years ago, but last time at old location. We felt really sorry about what happend to old location. But the new location got some great views. Food was awesome with good service. We had the calamari, seared salmon and shrimp and mussel fettuccine. Always a great choice. Would love to come back in 4 years. Thank you.

Above average / upscale pub fare featuring staples and more. The restaurant is comfortable and nicely furnished with a patio on the water. It’s also really large so perfect for parties, larger groups and is family friendly.

Food is great. Some items marked on the menu as "may be available gluten free" were not able to be made gluten free. Double check with the kitchen before ordering! Ended up getting the kale/salmon salad *without puffed rice*, beef chuck flat *without fried onions*, and choc trio dessert. No separate fryer for allergens.

Dining at shelter was a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly, the vibe of the dining room was comfortable, private, and very west coast. The menu had lots of options and was also not too large, and all of the food was delicious, creative, and came in fairly generous portions. The whole experience only took 45 minutes but it did not feel rushed at all. I left feeling really full and really happy. Thank you to the whole team at shelter for such a great dining experience.

We are visiting from Vancouver/Toronto and we decided to check out Shelter! Our server was very kind and super informative. Tonight, we ordered the feature entree with was a Rib Eye Steak sliced up with vegetables and baked mashed potatoes. We had the steak cooked medium. We also ordered oysters as well which was also a feature. Oh my goodness, the rib eye steak - my partner and I were in heaven! It just melted in our mouth, the vegetables and the baked mashed potatoes were amazing! To be honest, the rib eye steak being $84 and it’s shareable blew one of our experiences at a Vancouver restaurant out of the water. We were so stuffed and also had leftovers. I really hope that Shelter puts this item on the menu! Why? I want and will recommend everyone to try this feature! It was THAT good.

Great views right by the marina. Highly recommend the tuna tower. Love the wood burning fireplaces by the windows. Very romantic place with good wine selection.

I ordered the slow roasted beef chuck flat. It was a good portion and rich in flavour. The restaurant itself is a bit hard to find on a dark rainy night if you’ve never been before but the atmosphere is really cozy and relaxed. Lastly, my server Liam was excellent and made for a very personalized experience.

The Shelter Restaurant was our favourite meal when we visited Tofino..the tasty meal we experienced demonstrated to us the freshness of the ingredients from local farms and the Tofino waters..the very warm greeting and the very cozy atmosphere of the Shelter Restaurant made our evening meal very memorable..

Beautiful meal and drinks afterwards. The food was fantastic, from starters to mains! We found out from chatting to a Canadian couple, the wonderful Dan and Elaine, who had been visiting Tofino for years that this place had moved as original location burnt down last year, so worth noting photos are old. It looks so good now! Brilliant atmosphere, staff and food. Highly recommended. We were there from 5-10!

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here. It's right on the waters edge, so the view adds to the ambience. I had the wild salmon and asparagus pasta! Creamy and full of flavor! My server was such a breath of fresh air. She was pleasant and professional. She was knowledgeable about the area to suggest things to do in Tofino and Ucluelet. There is parking yet during high season and peak times, there may not be any spots available.

Wolf in the Fog is a charming sea-view eatery with a cozy, rustic atmosphere that offers innovative dishes and cocktails made from locally sourced ingredients. This popular restaurant not only captivates diners with its exquisite food, but also impresses with its stunning decor and ambiance. It is worth noting that Wolf in the Fog caters to families, as it provides a kids menu for younger guests.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff. It gets quite busy even during the weekdays. We had to wait in line for about 10 minutes to just get in and luckily we were the last to get a table in second floor in Thu 5pm. So recommended to make reservations in advance. Food was delicious (prices high too) and the portions are not very large. Dish decoration was right as good as Restaurant decoration. I loved the burger 🍔

This was a great dining experience in all aspects. First, we had a really friendly and warm waitress. She was very helpful with the recommendations and suggestions, which improved our experience. Second, the food was fantastic. The quality and taste of everything was top-notch. Ordering the Spot Prawns with Garlic Bread was a great choice. We also had the Tuna Mexicano, which had some really unique but amazing flavours. For the entree, we shared the Smoked Wild Spring Salmon. Again, it was fantastic and I have no complaints at all about it. We decided to try the dessert and had a slice of the Basque Cheesecake. It wasn’t too sweet which I prefer. The prices here may be on the high end, but they’re absolutely worth it. Definitely make a reservation well in advance.

Love this place! We had visited on our last trip to Tofino and tried 3 share plates and enjoyed everything. So on this current trip it was hard not to order the same thing knowing how good it would be. We tried 3 new dishes and were not disappointed! Actually, it’s there with the best meals I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is cozy, and it’s very nice to enjoy high quality food in such a comfortable environment.

We ordered their famous cocktail, ROMERO CAMERO. Nice taste! The scallop is a must try. The flavour is mixed with Japanese miso. The taste is too delicious to be true 😋 I’d honestly recommend it to everybody that I know! The atmosphere is comfortable. The server wouldn’t push us or give us any pressure. The music, lighting, are all good! The most amazing thing is every customer here is quiet. There’s no annoying noise in the restaurant, which is very much appreciated! The server recommends us right thing that meets our satisfaction. Overall, we will come back to Tofino for this experience. Oh btw, the dessert, puff is so delicious! Even if I was full with my food already, i managed to finish the entire dessert 😍

Great atmosphere and vibe. Great service. Cocktails were delicious. The food was mostly good. The octopus was quite sour and Brussel sprouts nearly inedible as burnt and salty. I would recommend the salad, fried chicken and the pasta. Overall great place to visit.

Truly outstanding food- we enjoyed the innovative take on fried oysters, the kelp seaweed salad (not your sushi joint’s usual), a halibut sausage, a gorgeous halibut with eggplant and a green mole (!!), and the cream puff. Also, a perfect BC Rose from Scout that’s way too hard to find, plus a couple solid cocktails. The service was also professional. You can wear whatever you want- just go.

The interior design of the place is truly remarkable, boasting a distinctive and one-of-a-kind aesthetic that sets it apart. Particularly enchanting is the ambiance it creates in the evening, with the interplay of lights lending an atmospheric charm to the surroundings. Having embarked on our culinary journey, we chose to indulge in two carefully selected dishes. What stood out most was the remarkable richness and depth of flavors that each dish offered. The culinary execution was nothing short of impressive, as the intricate combination of ingredients resulted in a symphony of tastes that delighted our palates. In essence, the establishment not only takes pride in its unique decor but also captivates diners through the culinary experiences it offers. The interplay of creativity in design and culinary craftsmanship makes for an unforgettable visit.

Sadly an average experience. I'll start with positives, my homemade pasta was actually really nice! Seen a few bad reviews on here, a lot mentioning a mushroom pasta or it being too salty, but I actually liked mine. Would recommend, alongside the warm dinner roll which was a brioche. We had booked, were sat outside in a covered + heated section which was odd as a table the other side of the window indoors was free from about 5 minutes into our time in the restaurant. We would have preferred to be told a table is just finishing up, and one inside, where the atmosphere is, would be free soon. Then the waitress wasn't the best unfortunately. I think she may have been having a bad day maybe but we didn't feel that well looked after compared to the rest of our stay in Canada. It was also very expensive we felt, and my portion was too big. We were at the Shelter the night before and would recommend that over this for basically every single reason - service, atmosphere, food, ambience.

I have been going there since they opened so maybe 1 to 2x a year (except during Covid). The service is always excellent and I like their changing seasonal menus. My fav continues to be the seaweed salad and the oyster / fried noodle. I know prices have gone up so not a place to go for a cheap meal. That being said, you can get burger and fries for $22 that’s very filling. Small place so keep that in mind if you have a very large group. My reservation fees were refunded but I wish they just applied this to my bill instead. Over a must try once.

I’m still drooling. So delicious, friendly staff, beautiful venue and we enjoyed our spot in the heated patio as it was quieter and relaxing! We took our time trying a little bit of everything and the only complaint we had was we couldn’t stop eating! The potato crusted oysters, Humboldt squid and pork belly was our favs. Finished off with the Irish coffee cocktail and the cream puff for dessert. One of my favourite meals I’ve had in a long time!

Firstly, if you are planning to visit this restaurant DO make a reservation. It is quite packed even on weekdays. The décor is quite unique and representative of the Tofino vibe. Staff are very friendly and professional. I loved the idea that not two plates are similar and each has its own design. Drinks are delicious and the drinks/ cocktails are not limited to what you see on the menu, the mixologist can get very creative if you just ask. The food is flavourful, fresh, memorable and high quality. The menu does get updated often so the items I post here may not be there when you visit. I just wish I was there to try new items. You may here the kitchen staff clapping and making celebratory sounds - that means someone bas ordered the “six pack for kitchen” from them menu and they are just showing appreciation.

Had an amazing family dinner here visiting. Pre booked a reservation a couple weeks in advance and got seated and set no problem they were busy when we arrives. We got most items on the menu and shared between us. The chicken was great. Pork Capicola was a great dish. Fish dish was nice and light great garnishes. Over all each dish was created with care and attention. Good local BC drinks menu nice servers. We enjoyed our experience.

This is a more upper scale dinning experience. If you like sea food there is a lot to pick from but not as much if you are not into that. Their drink menu is extensive. The staff are attentive to your needs. Homemade ice cream very yummy. The atmosphere is very modern woodsy vibe. Two levels with bar, dinning and patio available on the main drag.

My friend and I went to Wolf just recently for dinner following recommendations from others who had been. It did not disappoint! We shared a few dishes - squid with sausage; scallops; pavlova and one more dish that I can't remember. All were very good - great flavours, fresh, and well presented. I loved that the food came from local suppliers and that the menu is adapted based on what's available locally. Would definitely eat here again!

we had a wonderful dinner with the family, the service, atmosphere, and food were all great! all the cocktails were very fancy, and they even offered to make a surprise punch bowl for the kids! all the food was great, but the scallop gratin, house pasta, halibut and salmon entrees, and the fries were fantastic! I loved how they had mismatch plates for everything, super cute!
Alex Tzotzos — Google review
Food was all delicious and beautiful. We split 3 seafood dishes and they were all fantastic. The layers of flavours in every dish was well crafted. Every bite was a pleasure. The cocktails all looked and tasted amazing. Prices are definitely in the higher range, dished are typically $35+ each and drinks $15+. Staff were friendly and came to help often.

This is one of the best meals we’ve had in years, at the level of Michelin level restaurants we’ve been to around the world. They serve bistro/fusion/comfort dishes that are fresh and balanced, with complex and interesting levels of flavour.

One of the best places Ive ever eaten. Conor, our server was spectacular, he is a wizard with the menu and was more than able to answer all my wife's questions in great detail. The food was not pretentious and was extremely well flavoured (balance, presentation, amount). One cool feature is you can tip the kitchen a six pack of beer, cool! This is a must try for anyone traveling to Tofino BC.

Been here many times and it never disappoints! Interesting cocktails and fantastic food as always. The potato crusted oysters are a must - they’ve been on the menu as long as we’ve been going there. Party of three this time, having the oysters, the seaboard (hotly debated whether the shrimp rolls or confit tuna was the best; it was all great) and 2 x sablefish and 1 x halibut; all outstanding!

I came to dine here the day before my birthday . I chose a different place to go for my birthday but I truly wish I chose this place as the food was so good. Every bite was so good from The appie to the dinner to the desert and they had some vegetarian options which always puts a smile on my face. The waiter was very attentive and super sweet which made the experience extra special. We ended up going again a few days later as we loved it that much. The only thing I may suggest as this is a higher end place which seems classy to perhaps not charge for the twist of lemon requested in a martini order. That seemed a little different to charge for a small lemon skin saying this the martini was tasty .... all in all a fantastic experience and I will defiantly go back next time I am in Tofino .

ONE OF THE BEST MEALS IN RECENT MEMORY We concluded our recent trip to Tofino with a group dinner @wolfinthefog and it was spectacular. Everything we ordered from the menu was an explosion of flavours and textures. The restaurant itself was also beautiful in an understated and cozy way. Our server also helped to make our experience even more memorable. Wolf in the Fog was a pleasant surprise to all of our taste buds. Every dish was beautifully plated, I loved how the chef played with textures and shadows on the plate. The perfect balance of salt, fat, and acid in every dish also ensured that no single flavour overpowered the other. All of the ingredients also tasted super fresh, we especially loved the seaweed salad, salmon, and beef short-rib. This restaurant will also be forever be remembered as the restaurant that made my friend eat his words. When we were walking up to the dining area, he made a comment saying “what’s so good about this place anyways.” After our appetizers were served, he said “that was pretty good, the entrees can’t be better than this though.” And after our entrees were served, he said “huh, the entrees were even better. The dessert has to be bad, there’s no way they can nail all three.” Now guess what he said after our desserts? “Damn, everything was good.” Needless to say, Wolf in the Fog is going on my ‘favourite restaurants of all time” list. Save this post for your future Tofino trip 🤤 ⭐️10/10 🤵🏼‍♀️10/10 💰$$ (aprox. $75/person) 📍Wolf in the Fog | 150 Fourth St, Tofino, BC

My husband and I were visiting the area (also heard several great reviews from locals). We were seated on the outdoor patio with the heat lamps. It was a great experience overall! From service, quality food, and timing between meals! We had the squid to start, halibut for main and 2 desserts to share. Along with some drinks! See you next time we area in the area!

Honestly amazing! The feature ravioli was delicious and put together with precision and passion. The Sable fish was wonderful and seasoned to perfection. To the kitchen team, bravo. Steak house
The Schooner Restaurant, a well-established and refined dining establishment that has been serving delectable steak and seafood since 1949, is a must-visit spot in Tofino. This charming eatery, locally owned and operated for over 70 years, offers an array of unique cocktails and local beers to complement their mouthwatering menu. Notably, The Schooner Restaurant is also known for its resident ghost named Morris, whose fascinating stories can be explored on the restaurant's website.
Their signature stuffed halibut dish was to die for and the seafood pasta dish with garlic cream sauce was heavinly. The service was fantastic and the weather was the typical wet sunshine of the West coast. Overall great meal and atmosphere. We will definitely be back next time. $150 for two but I drink and tip huge so it's above average for the quality of food to price.

My wife and I enjoyed a meal here at the end of May 2022. It was one of our best meals in a long time. Our server was very attentive and personable. We are not very adventurous eaters, and had the salmon and ribs. Both were top notch. The ambience was really nice, had a view out the big windows. Dessert was peanut butter pie, and was delicious. If you want a nice meal, and love seafood or steak I think you will enjoy this spot!

Wow! Best seafood we have ever had. We enjoyed the admirals feast for 2. Good portion size, unreal ingredient quality, and flavor. The salmon blew me away. The staff were friendly, approachable, and attentive. This cozy historic restaurant is so attractive and comfortable. A MUST GO DO NOT SKIP THIS GEM IN TOFINO🎉

I came all the way from Ontario and I will definitely admit that, this is by far one of the best restaurants in Tofino! Everyone was raving about the food, the service, vibe and even the portion size you get for the price you pay! The quality and the way the food was prepared and presented was out of this world! If you are a huge seafood lover, you must try their dishes. It doesn’t hurt to ask what dish they would recommend during your visit there, making the experience much more personable and authentic to your craving.

This 2-story restaurant with its deep roots in Tofino (since 1949) serves some of the most tempting dishes around. While there is some outdoor seating on the deck by the entrance, my party of eight (8) preferred the cooler seating inside on the second floor. (Bonus: great views of Tofino through the large picture windows) Our server was very personable, efficient & attentive. I enjoyed the halibut (stuffed with baby shrimp, creamy Brie, Jack cheese & scallions) topped with an apple-brandy creamy sauce, and served atop a bed of rice with grilled vegetables. For dessert, the chocolate pecan pie with vanilla ice cream was divine. Highly recommend.

Where every other restaurant in the town is packed and this one has two thirds of its seating closed it should have been a clear sign to stay away. However it was the only place that had a table available so we decided to go there. We had many items off of the menu and some like the Caesar salad and the bacon wrapped scallops were acceptable their steak and seafood were simply awful. The medium rare steak was cooked to medium rare but dry like jerky. The seafood boil for two tasted like seafood was boiled in a Cambell’s chicken broth. The mussels were precooked, frozen and then added in afterwards. (Check the date of this review. No other restaurants on this side of the island had mussels.) and the crab had black discolouration at the joints. (You can google what that means). They then added the tip to the bill - which I assume they do to ensure they get tipped because based on that meal - I would have left them with nothing. We had dinner at Roar the previous night - had much better service - food - in a nicer newer space and it cost a whole lot less. Shelter was also amazing. Go anywhere else. If you can…. Otherwise I recommend the Caesar salad.

This was the second time we came to this restaurant. We were happy with the seafood dishes we ordered and back to try their ‘best dish in-house’ - the seafood platter. But this time we are very disappointed. It’s not worth it for the money ($259). It has basically 3 dinner size fish and a side dish served to each person, plus 4 types of seafood (appetizer size). It feels like this platter let the restaurant be more conveniently to put everything together to serve but not the benefit of the customer as it has not enough food for three people! We have to order a soup and pay for the extra breads to fill us up. Food and service were good. But not worth the money spent.

I started with a plate of fresh oysters, and they were perfectly shucked and tasted marvelous. But the real highlight of the meal was the signature dish - seafood chowder. It was easily one of the best chowders I've ever had. The broth was creamy and flavorful, and it was packed with fresh seafood like shrimp, scallops, and clams. Definitely a must-try dish. Moreover, the service was fantastic. I received kind and attentive service throughout my meal, and the staff was accommodating with all my requests. Overall, I highly recommend dining at this seafood and steak restaurant. Order the seafood chowder, and you won't be disappointed!

Great spot for dinner. We went during the off-season. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Make your reservations as far ahead as you can. Originall, we hadn't planned on eating here, but we ended up staying in the area another day. I'm so glad we decided to eat here.

Second time dining here, still as good as I remembered. Ordered the Classic Seafood Boil for 2, and the Halibut Bawden Bay. Loved both! Especially the Halibut, I can see why it’s considered a house special, it’s a must try for sure. The sauce is slightly sweat and citrusy at the same time, but in a very pleasant way—it’s hard to describe it, but it was love at first bite for me. Service is also very sweet and attentive (from the greeter to our server Sean), who made the experience much more enjoyable. Laid back atmosphere and beachy decor.

This place is nostalgic for us. We celebrated an anniversary here about 20 years ago and have celebrated a few more since at The Schooner. We always start with the oysters and I had the blackened cod and enjoyed all pieces of my meal. I appreciate that I can dress up or be casual. The front entrance needs a little love but once past the stairs, we like visiting this restaurant.

Went here on the weekend. I had booked a reservation a few weeks back and had emailed back and forth with Whaylon in regards to some good tequila. Not only was the communication excellent before we arrived for our lovely dinner. Everything about our dinner was amazing. To Whaylon, his customer services was top notch. The food was amazing and everything was fresh with so much flavor. And loved the atmosphere of the entire place! By far the best experience I have had eating out in a long time, and def you need to try the Crème brûlée dessert! And a shot of clase azul tequila <3 We will be going back here for sure!

We enjoyed our whole meal, starting with the Caesar salad then the halibut and salmon. Both delicious and great size meal. Ended with the crème brule. Will definitely be going back on every trip to Tofino!

Everything was great, I wouldn't order the crab dip again, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't as amazing as everything else. The peppercorn brandy sauce they make for their steak is incredible. Get a burley temple drink (non alcoholic)... so good, my hubby ditched his beer and enjoyed my drink instead lol. Make sure you make a reservation.

It was nice, because of the place and because of the Others guests. Instead of Others Restaurants in the Village you are Able to Chat There. We recommend seafood. My friend loved it. The Steak wasn't soft or sooo tasty. Staff was great. Nice wine and Beer.

What a great meal we had. Our host Zack was excellent, meals were explained with great detail. His recommendations for drinks with the food was spot on and he was super personable. The seafood was so good. At face value it was pricey but the meal was treated as an event and worth the money spent. I would definitely recommend and come back.

SoBo is a seafood restaurant located in Tofino, BC which has been praised by reviewers for its fresh and globally-inspired menu. The restaurant features a relaxed setting with a menu that highlights local, seasonal ingredients. Open for lunch and dinner, SoBO offers something for everyone - from oysters to tacos to larger composed mains. Save room for one of SoBo's legendary desserts!
A great place for lunch or dinner! We had the Manila clams x 2 and the margherita pizza with a starter of polenta fries. All was delicious. Know that the polenta fries are quite filling so one per person is lots (if also eating mains) tho it seems like it wouldn’t be. Our clams had a bit of sand in them but that happens. The bread with them was excellent with salt flakes on top. Perfect for dipping in the clam broth. We finished up with a slice of key lime pie which is not to be missed!

We wound up here by local recommendation. It was their first day of the season. Amazing everything! Highly recommend Do try the seafood chowder, and don't forget a slice of key lime pie to finish off the meal.

Last Sobo Meal Ever! The Chowder and Corn bread were amazing! Polenta fries also delicious!

Excellent food! Everything seems to be made from scratch - from the falafels to the wraps to the seafood chowder. And they serve real whipped cream on the tasty key lime pie. Fish tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back to this family owned place that’s putting so much love into their food!

Salmon chowder was great with lots of chunks of salmon and big portion. Thai chicken with the salad and the bread was a home run. Mussel is just ok. Palenta fries was average.

The chowder and corn bread here are to die for! I loved them both so much, please get it if you come here. The Thai chicken is meh, one piece is good, the other piece is burnt and tasted bitter. The sauce doesn't taste Thai to me either. But try their chowder and corn bread!!

Food was fine. Nothing special. But the oysters were great and a good deal for us from USA. Nice people.

Recommend Great value! Must try Killer fish taco, the oysters, corn bread.

Overall impression of this place is good. We tried 6 of their dishes during lunch and my favourite item was the salmon chowder. Served hot and smokey. The crispy polenta fries are such a treat. I was expecting more leafy greens in the soba noodle salad, but it is a bit heavier on the carb side. Other dishes were ok.

The only place that opens during the afternoon. There was a bit of a wait but wow, the food is amazingly delicious. Ordered a dozen Pacific oysters, which were delicious. The seafood chowder was absolutely delicious. Nice friendly staff and service was excellent.

We enjoyed all the food we got here, especially the fresh oysters, mushroom pizza, and mussels. Service was quick and friendly and drinks were delicious. I would only recommend putting less cheese on the dishes but they were otherwise delicious

We had an awesome time and great food. The mushroom pizza is to die for! The oysters were good but need to be eaten while hot. Very nice decor and interesting artwork. Great for bringing the kids. And the cutlery is magnetized so the kids can play with those At the table.

The restaurant looks really good and when you enter you see the pastries and their own cooking book. Can’t go wrong you think. But the food is a disappointment. The octopus was overcooked and the sauce made it unbalanced. The salmon was to raw and tasted somewhat fishy. Service was okay but not adequate when I told them about the salmon dish. The local beer was good. I found the place overpriced. Unfortunately not a great experience after all.

Loved our SOBO lunch, super yummy and special, it felt very West Coast. I went to SOBO when it was a food truck probably about 15 years ago… it was nice to see it still exists and has changed form! The Tofu Pocket with salmon tasted super fresh. The raw oysters (on special, yay!) were delicious as well. The Fried Oysters were huge and had a great dipping sauce, and the Miso Slathered Broiled Oyster was our favourite dish (we ordered a second!). Friendly staff and nice ambiance as well. Highly recommend and we will return!

The Pointe Restaurant is an elegant bar and eatery in Tofino, Canada, offering beautiful water views and warm decor. It has been serving farm-fresh Canadian dishes for 15 years. The restaurant is known for its gourmet focus and is located at the Wickaninnish Inn, a luxurious hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Guests can enjoy dishes like local cod with romesco crumble or aged organic ribeye with mashed Yukon Gold potatoes.
Of all the meals we had while in Tofino this was by far the best atmosphere, service & food. Definitely a meal all of us will be talking about for ages. From booking a reservation for a big group, to the a rural meal the staff at the Pointe were amazing to deal with. 10/10 would come back!

5 stars for cocktails and our server, but 2 stars for the front desk/hostesses. The cocktails and food were incredible, as was the view! We ordered one of their Negroni and sour cocktails (the specific names of the two are slipping my mind). Delicious and beautifully presented. The fish plate was nicely plated and we thoroughly enjoyed the butter crackers that accompanied the selection of smoked salmon and other local fish. Our server was the best (blue-eyed gentleman that only recently began working there), but we did not have a lovely experience with the front desk/hotel gate/staff. We were visiting from Toronto and are used to higher end restaurants, but did not feel welcomed. We called in advance to inquire if a reservation was required, the gentleman on the phone said walk-ins were welcome, but that they were dependent on how busy they were (totally understandable). We arrived at the gate of the inn by car and had to wait to hear if there was space. Showing our vaccine passports was not an issue. We arrived at the front desk of the inn and they claimed that they were very busy at the bar (even though we could see every stool and chair in the bar area was empty) and that they’d need to call to see if there was space. Keep in mind we had already sat in the car and waited until they radioed in to inquire of there being space. Would we come back? Perhaps not. I hope guests that aren’t staying at the inn are treated with just as much kindness as the guests.

I dined on a five course meal that was absolutely define. The highlight was my main: A charcoal black-cod with Miso, Carrot & Gailan, Makrut Lime Veloutè. This was the best black-cod I have ever had and will remember the flavors forever! I will definitely come back to this restaurant again and try something else from their rotating menu.

All aspects of our dining experience was wonderful. Service by Emma was second to none, making my 60th birthday celebration even more special. The food was incredibly tasty; the textures and flavors utilized was truly delicious. I highly recommend the Point for a superb dining experience.

I would give it 6 stars if I could! We came here for our 1st wedding anniversary and it was spectacular! Higher end dining yet very relaxed and casual! One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had… the location, view, dining room ambience, food, service and attention to detail! Thanks for making it a very memorable evening!

What an incredible treat it was to finally experience dinner here. I was able to get a reservation over the long weekend and highly recommend the later seating in the event there's actually a sunset. It was too overcast the day I went, but the panoramic view of the stormy coast was almost better. I think this was the first time I've ever been asked about any dietary restrictions at the time of booking a reservation, which I appreciated immensely. My server for the evening, Loretta also proactively confirmed any allergies/restrictions right away. The dining room is so well run with a perfect balance of polished and relaxed flow to service. Staff are attentive, pleasant, knowledgeable, and the food was fantastic. I was definitely full with an appetizer, main and dessert There were no regrets with trusting Loretta to curate a culinary experience with wine pairings for 2 of my courses- wow. It was extra impressive to have multiple dessert offerings that weren't just sorbet considering I'm celiac and allergic to egg!! Thank you to everyone at The Pointe for one of the most polished and memorable dining experiences I've had in all my travels.

Stunning restaurant with service to match! I ordered the eggs Benedict but had scrambled eggs instead of poached... delicious. The staff as you walked into the building were warm and greeted everyone, the hostess was the same and our server was incredibly attentive. If you have to make a quick trip to the restrooms you'll have a chance to see their exquisite wine cave... and the table with the kelp stained into it... absolutely beautiful. Nothing was overlooked in the design of these spaces. A must if you want a west coast experience!

This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with amazing staffs and fabulous foods & drinks! I would give more 5 stars if I could ! Five car ruse meals with wine testing is terrific! Each Meath is served by different servers, so polite and knowledgeable! We loved the dinner! Highly recommended ♥️♥️♥️ The best birthday surprise 🎂🥂🍾💕

My husband and I have been coming to the Wickaninnish Inn for special anniversaries since 2001 and we love the Pointe Restaurant. Stellar service (always friendly), attention to detail, stunning views, amazing food. I am especially a fan of the Pointe breakfast as well as the creative and delicious desserts! Each dish is SO beautifully presented - a miniature work of art, really. We recently celebrated our 30th anniversary at the Pointe Restaurant, and our menu that evening had an anniversary message at the top, plus we were presented with a chocolate Happy Anniversary message at the end of our meal. If you’re looking for a magical place to celebrate a special occasion, I highly recommend the Pointe Restaurant.

This is as close as it gets to a perfect dining experience, and I don’t say this lightly. Everything from the atmosphere, the service, the cocktails, the food (presentation, taste, cuisson) and the overall attention to detail just hit the ball out of the park. If I could give 6 stars I would. Bravo.

Really enjoyable at the Pointe restaurant for my wife’s birthday and our honeymoon special dinner. 10/10 service from the start with personalised menus, excellent recommendations for food and wine and also acocmodating a table move to have a prime spot view! Unfortunately the food didn’t quite live up to the service for us. Although it was local ingredients, we felt the tasting menu was trying to overcomplicate the food a little too much which didn’t work on a number of dishes both taste and texture wise. Despite this, the service and setting really pulled through (as well as the wine) to make it a very nice evening.

AMAZING! We came for brunch and the French toast is probably the best I’ve tasted in my life. The hot chocolate was perfect, not too sweet, just perfect and I didn’t want the drink to finish. Really nice views of the beach. The storms started and it was just great to have our meal in the warmth of the restaurant and watch the roaring waves and kept warm by the big fireplace. It’s a really nice restaurant. Free parking, and free charging for your EVs. I highly recommend this restaurant. Our server was very professional and welcoming. From being seated to getting the check or even going to the washroom, all the staff I encountered were very nice, and welcoming. Even the valet were very welcoming. The service here is top! Will visit again when next we’re in Tofino. Loved it!

We came in for Sunday Brunch by walk-in. The staff were very warm and welcoming. They actually had two by the door, who would welcome and swing the large doors open for guests. Our server was very professional and well spoken. They talked us through each dish and had a very keen knowledge of the menu. We started with a mocha and a hot chocolate for beverages and they followed up with a query on whipped cream topping. That was some of the best mocha I've had in a long time and it came served with a fresh baked cookie that was just the right amount of sweet. For our main meals, we ordered the Bison Tongue Reuben and then the English Pea and Duck Risotto. The server was attentive in asking wether we wished for separate side dishes, larger dishes or central serving to share.. Its often assumed, but this has to be the first time we had 3 meal sharing options presented. The thoughtfulness was very delightful. The food itself was all it was promised to be. Fresh, flavours masterfully composed and visually on point. (no pun intended) We'd definitely love to visit again..

We enjoyed several breakfasts and dinners at the Pointe Restaurant during our stay at Wickanninish Inn this holiday season. We tried the vegetarian, regular and New Years Eve tasting menus in addition to other dishes. The service, food and drinks were all great. Quality and local source of the food as well as presentation justify the higher price point. Variety of bread provided with each dinner meal was awesome and we appreciated oil/vinegar alternative to butter. Chocolates at the end of each meal, including parting truffles on the last day, were a nice touch. We were also satisfied with the room service for coffee and charcuterie. Views of the beach and waves were amazing. Thank you for a memorable dining experience!
