Beaches
The bay Carlisle Bay is a beautiful crescent-shaped beach situated on the west coast of Barbados. It has calm waters which make it perfect for swimming and is home to a marine park with relics such as anchors and cannonballs.
This place is absolutely amazing some people are saying this is Caribbean number one beach. There are many bars and restaurants on this beach with decent prices. You can find trips to swim with turtles and also other trips around the island or taxis to different beaches. The water on this beach it’s very clear and has a beautiful colour. Also if you like water sports you can find many activities on this beach.

Lovely beach with snorkeling to see shipwrecks and turtles.
Debbie Brown — Google review
Lovely stretch of sandy beach and clear water, perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
Katie Seales — Google review
Probably one of the best beach places to be on Barbados. Not to crowded in the middle. There you should also go. Don't go on right or left side. Beach lounger incl an umbrella was 15$. So fair pricing. Do not pay 5$ for one coconut but say you want two. Guys might walk away but will come back. 5$ is way to much and they know it🙂

I love come here. The beach is beautiful with many options for adventure. Scuba diving the sunken ships is the most memorable.

Like swimming in a bath. Clear water, sandy beach, tourists and locals chilling. What could be nicer. Lots of fish so bring a snorkel and goggles.

This is the best beach in Barbados, the water is crystal clear and there's plenty of activity. One of my favorite stop offs when I'm on my Ebike

BEAUTIFUL beach! Crystal clear and calm waters. Plenty of beach chairs to rent.

Beautiful white sand bay with crystal clear calm water which was perfect for the kids to swim and snorkel. We were approached by one of the beach vendors who was keen for us to go on his boat to see the turtles and ship wreck, he was friendly and not pushy about it, so we went and had a fabulous time - saw three turtles and snorkelling over the wrecks was amazing - so many beautiful fish, and the wrecks are so shallow you can see so much. They provided the snorkels. Most places along the beach if you pay for a sun lounger will also have wifi available which was also helpful for us.
Robyn Wiles — Google review
Beautiful beach and clear water. Sunbeds are reasonable if you need them, but a public beach
Rachel Field — Google review
Lovely clean sand and plenty of sun beds and umbrellas to hire. Bars and cafes behind and service at your sun bed, decadent but rather nice. Close to Bridgetown too, so if you arrive by cruise ship and only have a couple of hours to spare, then this would be ideal
Peter Hamblysmith — Google review
Tbh I preferred pebbles beach in lots of ways.. Carlisle was busy when we went on our boat trip, early on Sunday morning after the horses it was quiet but so quiet that the bars and amenities didn't even seem to be noticeable..this would have been about 9:30/10am Sunday.. even tho we'd made our own way to pebbles earlier in the week I'd used Google to direct me as there was a quicker route from our accommodation tho it (as it does often) landed me on Carlisle beach rather than pebbles as requested.. There were a few families there early and it was obvious that some congregated there but as a tourist having a wander and enjoying the surroundings, I definitely prefer pebbles over Carlisle.. I'm rubbish and failed to see any fishes or anything else tho my daughter had spotted flying fish on our last visit and there were several fishing as I walked past

Beautiful beach. Be careful not to be ripped off by the snorkel tour guys- haggle with them! But nice opportunity to see the shipwreck and turtles. Savvy on the Bay is a great spot to get a drink, have some tacos and take a break from the sun.

Fine white sand, awesome warm blue ocean, grills cooking and drinks flowing up behind the beach. Laid back vibe, good time.
Brian Perkins — Google review
Nice beach. Lots of activities to engage in. I wanted to get on a boat ride but i unfortunately couldn’t due to time and some other factors. You get too see local around you can have chats with and ask for directions. Water is crystal clear too!

Beautiful beach can get a bit busy but awesome the water is lovely

WOW effect!! expecially if you love free diving and snorkeling... There are 3 different shipwrecks less than 100m from the beach. You can easily find them looking where are all the people from organized tours. If you are able to take deep breath, take it and enjoy the inside of shipwreck!! there're a lot of in&out passages

Nestled among the buildings of Bridgetown, Browne's Beach is a great spot for swimming, sunbathing and relaxation. The clear waters and fine sand make it popular with locals and visitors alike. There are also vendors selling food and drink, making it the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the city.
This is one of the best stretches of beach in the Caribbean. White sand and crystal blue waters on a wide stretch. Great for a long walk, run or just a dip in the ocean.
Kirk Smith — Google review
This is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! The sand was pearly white, the water was crystal clear, and the waves were nice and calm. We had fun lounging, although the weather was super hot for late February. The water was nice and cool and we enjoyed snorkeling with turtles, where we saw lots of fish and met lots of other tourists. There were tons of chairs and umbrellas available. There were many restaurants with service available to tourists. They accepted American dollars and we had a great time meeting locals and learning about the local culture.
Bonnie Smith — Google review
Long stretch of sand with turtles in water Snorkeling isn’t even close to Folkestone Marine Park but there are quite a few turtles if you’re a bit patient. Nice beach for a long stroll along the sea. Also it has some running water to clean up after swimming close to the pin on google maps in the parking lot.
Micha? Brzezi?ski — Google review
Perfect! Parked for free (marked as “Esplanade” on google maps), chairs and umbrella should cost no more than $40BBD, cheap drinks from the chair vendors, lunch options nearby (Cuzz’s!). To see the shipwreck on your own just look for where the hoards of boat tour people are and then wait until they leave and go out yourself. Or follow the rope and the shipwreck is right past the last buoy.
A Anderson — Google review
One of our favorite beaches in Barbados. If you need beach chairs and umbrella look for John usually wearing a white bucket hat. He has great chairs, wonderful friendly service and fair prices. Snorkeling out from shore you’ll find turtles and shipwrecks and John also rents snorkeling gear. There is parking nearby with restrooms but just note the restroom close pretty early. There are plenty of choices for food within a short walk. This beach is great for swimming as it usually calm.

Beatiful Beach and very nice locals. The turtles were so clear and some are near the shore. The shipwrecks are very worthwhile and are definitely worth swimming out to see. The waters were also very clear and you should check out the Barbados wildlife reserve because it's a great addition to the trip. You can get a lot of things done in short time and there are small shops wherever you are. Overall, a great place to visit for spring break or summer.

Loved it. If traveling by ship, this will be the closer beaches (Carlisle Bay) great, just great. Water is suuuper. If u get a bit deeper , it gets a bit cold, but is great for the weather. You can actually see fish schools so close to shore. Safe and can grab a beer in any of the restaurants close by or a coconut :) don't forget to have your rum dose as well. The best s that each is not too crowded.

This is the beach I regularly visit when I come to Barbados. I like that there is parking, showers, free wifi (only sometimes). The water is beautiful and the feeling of the soft sand between the toes feels amazing. It's a really good place to visit.

One of the only beaches that doesnt have seaweed. Calm, clean, beautiful water but the its facilities close around 4:30 pm, leaving no where to change out of you're wet clothes.
Rio Cozier — Google review
Beautiful white sand beach located in Carlisle Bay. The water is very warm and clear, you can see your toes when your up to your neck in the water. There is a very busy road right beside it and there are tons of boats moored in the bay. Some stopping by for snorkeling excursions and others just appear to be there all day enjoying the sun and water. There are rentals for paddle boards, kayaks, banana boats and probably any other water sport you can think of, so yes, a very popular beach. But absolutely beautiful and it never felt crowded. It was a short taxi ride from the cruise port, only cost $5/person each way and the driver arranged a time to come back and pick us up. Rented chairs for $10/each and an umbrella for $5, for a snack, walked to the parking lot and got some deep fried local fish cakes for $0.50/each and a local beer for $2, so all in all, only $55 for a great day at a beautiful beach with snacks and beer.
Aaron Aalders — Google review
Lovely to watch the horses be bathed and you can ride them too! Quite a lot of boats in the bay which is a shame
J M — Google review
It’s an ok beach, but nothing special. There are much nicer beaches on Barbados Very crowded both on the beach and in the water, hassled a lot by people trying to sell you trinkets or excursions. Snorkelling is good to see turtles from the beach without needing to go on a boat excursion.
Tom 88 — Google review
Excellent beach used by locals a lot. Daily walks early in the morning 6am -8 before the sun was at its hottest. Families picnicking and playing games, elders taking morning swims and the sea so clear and calm for day and early evening swims. Natasha sells fish cutters and there is a bar in the car park! What more could you ask for?
Beverley W — Google review
Best beach on the entire island. Located within the upper end of Carlisle Bay (closest to pebbles beach). Super clear water and very calm. Went here almost everyday for a month. The closer to the edges of the bay have more stones but nothing that would distract your beach day. The closer to the Savoy food court the more crowded the beach is but it’s also much calmer. Absolutely love this beach.

The Nidhe Israel Synagogue and Museum

Mentioned on
Heritage museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Nidhe Israel Synagogue is a restored synagogue in the city of Bridgetown, Barbados. The synagogue features an interactive museum and a cemetery. The Nidhe Israel Synagogue is also one of the oldest synagogues in the western hemisphere and a Barbados National Trust property.
We visited this Synagogue many years ago as a family before it was a historical site and went back in January of 2024 to honor my mother who died October 7. She was a genealogist and historian and loved Barbados. It brought me so much peace to be able to sit on the bench in the courtyard and say a prayer for her and talk to her. It filled a hole in my heart and healed my soul just a little. This is a beautiful synagogue and is the oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere. Jewish people were instrumental in the development of the rum trade in the Caribbean and we should be proud of that! The mikveh was also very special. If you are in Barbados definitely come see this beautiful place!
Carol Rood (Sugar and Skin Spa) — Google review
incredible -- we were lucky to get a tour by a member who happened to be there. Oldest synagogue in the Americas and nearly destroyed after abandonment, only to be preserved and celebrated by the Barbados government. American expats now keep it going. Nice, quick tour history museum on site to get all the relevant info if you don't have a tour guide.

Coach Bev (One Wild & Precious Life) — Google review
This is one of the most beautiful and memorable places I have ever visited. Regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs, this is the oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere with an incredible history. I have taken self-guided tours countless times with visitors and locals alike, which are loved by everybody. But when I finally scheduled a special tour for a Saturday for special guests who were visiting Barbados for the first time (a quick stopover on a cruise) we learned more about the Jews in Barbados than we could’ve ever imagined. This was all thanks to Neal and his incredible knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching others. If you want to have this unique experience, sure to schedule this in advance with Neal, or you could also do a self guided tour which includes the on-site museum. Either way, you will you will learn things you would’ve never imagined as part of Jewish, Barbados and Caribbean history.

Unfortunately, we came here a bit past 3pm and visitors were no longer allowed. It looks quite interesting from the outside with lots of history. If in Barbados, come and support our people!

Small but well done museum, old synagogue, and mikveh. Gives a great insight into early Judaism in the Caribbean. Friendly and helpful docent. Take the time to view the images and inscriptions on the old grave stones.

The Nidhe Israel Synagogue is an absolute must see when visiting Barbados. The Synagogue, museum, Mikvah, and cemetery should not be missed. This is living history at its finest. The Synagogue continues to be alive and used.

There is a lot of historical places in Barbados, and this is an important one. The museum tells an interesting story of Bajan jews. I learned a lot during my visit. You can also see a very old mikva and jewish cemetery.

Interesting to know the contributions Jewish made in the history of Barbados. This history shared here is not the typical tale we would learn in most books and school curriculum.

Located in the city of Bridgetown, Barbados, Garrison Savannah is one of the oldest horse racing venues in the region. Offering a wide variety of activities for visitors, from horse racing to enjoying local food and drinks at the racetrack afterwards, it is an unforgettable day out for all.
We went to the Boxing Day meet, and what a great afternoon we had! Fantastic atmosphere, and the Bajans really know how to celebrate a public holiday. We paid to go in, but you can watch from the outside, and there's loads of food stalls and drinks available. Definitely go if you get the chance.

Great day out and always have a day at the races when here in Barbados. Plenty of places to get food and drink and easy to put a bet on.
Mark Witheridge — Google review
Horse racing every other Saturday was a lot of fun. Reasonable entrance fee of $25bds for a seat in the stands. Food and beverages available at kiosks and lots of betting windows. Not a luxury place, but well worth a visit.
Margaret Clayton — Google review
Such a relaxed, friendly, informal atmosphere at Garrison Savannah, all round the perimeter of the race track. Free entry, and all manner of locals and visitors hanging out together in the spacious grassy areas besides the bookies. Definitely drop in if you're in Barbados on a race day - and check out the horses having a dip in the sea early morning too.
Jake Ross — Google review
Stopped in on race day to catch a few races and decided it was nicer to watch outside the track in the breeze than in the stands and pay to sit. Lovely afternoon, plenty of places to make bets around the track and vendors selling drinks and food. A nice afternoon when in Barbados.
Chris Dornfeld — Google review
It's a charming hangover from a Colonial past. Reasonably competitive, low quality flat racing in a quaint setting. The only means of betting is via the scandalously poor value tote although food and drink is reasonable. However...... during covid times the insistence that masks must be worn outside at all times, even when eating and drinking and apart from other racegoers is baffling. Great place to go if you 'collect' racecourses otherwise stay on the beach.
Colin Bagley — Google review
Great day out,it cost 25 baj $ entrance fee, or free to watch on the outside track, food and drink available in &on the outside track also on the outside there is porta loos, and betting booths.

Nice atmosphere with the street food & drinks around & you can watch the racing for free if you don't want to go into the main grandstand. Makes it affordable to everyone, great idea unlike in the UK.
Kate Dagnall — Google review
No races were on the evening I went. A huge paved track is there for persons who would like to go jogging or a walk around. A playfield is in the middle that had a few people playing football (soccer); exercising, etc. An area is built to honor past prime ministers and other Bajans who have contributed positively to the country.

Seafood restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Cuzz's Fish Stand is a small, but well-known seafood restaurant located by the Radisson Hotel near Pebbles Beach. The signature blue marlin sandwich here is a must-try, and it's served on Bajan salt bread with tomato, lettuce, and pickles.
Beachside fresh fish sandwich was amazing. This place was recommended and I now know why. The lines are long and the fish that Cuzz gives you on the sandwich is superb. The fresh bun, the lettuce and slice of cucumber makes this such a good eat. Get a fish sandwich (cutter) with or without cheese; not just a slice of cheese but a thick slice of cheese on top of the fish. If you come to this location for the beach you have the option of purchasing a fish sandwich vs eating your own food. This was a great find on this end of the island.
Cheryl J — Google review
Not sure what the hype was, but it was alright fish cutters. If you got the one with cheese, Cuzz gives you a pretty big slab of cheese which is cool. The bread is subpar at most and the fish (at least mine) was way overcooked, was tough like a steak. Make sure you ask for more sauce (or put more in yourself) as it was quite dry. For the price, it's a good cheap eats but not something I would drive back to eat. But if at the beach, then yes.
Jeremy Choi — Google review
This was the best fish cutter we had during our week in Barbados, near Carlisle bay tucked away off the beach. And great value too! It was very popular with locals and tourists but didn't take too long to get served. The owner only sells food, not drinks, but there are two drinks stalls next to it. When we asked about vegetarian cutters he said he didn't have any. Would have loved to come back and try the ones with cheese!
Laura Willis — Google review
Pictured: Double fish cutter with cheese. First time having Marlin. If I had a blind fold on, I never thought it tasted like fish. Light seasoning and super tasty! I know what I’m having lunch for tomorrow. Yumo!

Believe the hype! This place is great, $12 for a wonderful, fresh lunch right on the beach is a real treat in Barbados let me tell you. So nice to have an affordable quality option. Thank you!

Definitely the best cutters I've had in barbados! Great sauce options, no frills. We tried more than three times to see whether it's open - but many times it was closed. Go after 1pm!
Jin-Ah Yang (양진아) — Google review
Maybe i ate it too fast? I got a bit of a tummy ache. This fish was so delicious, fresh, on the softest freshest yummy bun. I put hot sauce, maybe what caused my tummy ache, just a wee bit too much. My lips are still burning as i write this haha. Sorry i didnt take a pic. I highly recommend.
Lisa R — Google review
This place is a must stop and came highly recommended by friends and locals. I can see why! The cutter (fish) sandwich came with a fresh bun, lettuce and the option for cheese, and it was a thick slice of cheese. This was a great find and will probably be making a few more trips before we head off the island.
AB Inspirations — Google review
The sand which lived up to the hype! Delicious! A variety of condiments are out…. Ketchup, Mayo, onion Vinaigrette and the pepper sauce (one drop). However you do it you’ll be happy! The beer in the pic is from the stand next door, not from Cuzzs. Definitely recommend!!
Ian Sherwood — Google review
I literally inhaled my fish cutter after making a quick stop for lunch. The marlin was very flavorful and the bread! Ugh you can’t beat a fresh bajan salt bread. Prices are a tad steep by local standards but I understand Cuzz is located in a highly touristy area. Service was quick and efficient! Will definitely be back again in the future. 👌🏾

The historic Cuzz's. A must see and taste for anyone coming to Barbados. Simple yet tasty sandwich (burger to my European friends) with a lovely slab of fish with your choice of garnish etc. Definitely recommend!

Just let me say, this is a place where you don't need a whole lot to leave satisfied. It's simple, we all heard from someone, you need to visit cuzz for one of the freshest nicest fish cutters. A cutter, is basically a fresh bun/salt bread with some kind of protein in it, garnished with some sort of garden herb or some kinda pepper sauce. In regards to the cutters at Cuzz, you can get freshly fried Kingfish, with or without cheese, you can get single or double fish. I went here recently and was not disappointed, came at a time that wasn't near lunch, as the line can be quite long and intimidating especially if someone in the line is ordering a lot. Cuzz does these fresh on the spot, so hence why the wait is long, he does each piece of fish freshly fried for you. The fish is seasoned well, the bread was fresh, and the general customer service is there, please don't expect Michelin star service.
Mark G. Perkins — Google review
I ate 3 of my meals at this spot while on vacation. It's a freat spot for lunch or an early dinner 🍽️ I got the single fish cutter without any cheese on it twice. Also tried the double, which was perfect for a meal. Added some bajan hot sauce and it was a perfect combination. If you're not staying in the area. Worth a trip wherever you're on the island. If you're thirsty...there are two stalls on either side of the booth that sells various drinks. The booth on the right that sells lemonade is worth a stop too.
Duane Brown — Google review
Absolutely worth the hype. A must visit when in Barbados. It’s a one man shack but the service is so warm and the food is delicious. Drinks available from the bar stall next door. Some seating and parking. Cash only.
Tam N — Google review
We've been eating Cuzz's fish cutters for 12 years, and I am pleased to report that today we had the best one EVER. Positively on a level with the best food on the island and all the way up there with the best lunch options anywhere. Today, Ms Cuzz was there. The queue was long, she takes her time, but wow, worth every minute.
Ronaldus Bakker — Google review
Cuzz is a Barbados institution! It's a MUST STOP foe lunch while on the island. Recommend the double cutter with cheese and 2 Banks beers 🍻. If you see a line, just wait. It moves fast and it's well worth it. The parking lot atmosphere is just the right feel for this part of the island.
Michael G M — Google review
Had Cuzz's on my eating itinerary while in Barbados. Was excited to try the fish cutter and so were others. We arrived during noon hour and there was quite the line. It moved pretty steady and there was drink options near by to keep you quenched while waiting in line. I went with the single fish cutter with no cheese. I didn't want to taint the flavour but seeing others ordering the cheese I would add it on a future order. The sandwich was good, nice bun, good toppings and excellent bajan hot sauce. The marlin is a bit of a beefier fish and has more of a steak like texture. Its different than flying fish. I would recommend Cuzz's and will return on a future visit to Barbados.

If you're craving fresh seafood in Barbados, look no further than Lobster Alive. This restaurant is located on the beautiful Carlisle Bay in Bridgetown and serves up some of the best lobster around. Whether you order a bisque or anthermidor, you're going to love the taste of this seafood spot. And don't forget to enjoy some cocktails while you're there – Lobster Alive has a full bar!
they went all out for us and decorated our table as we’re on our honeymoon which was a lovely surprise. The wine here is probably the cheapest I’ve seen on the island and they have a good selection. We had conch samosas for starters and we chose a lobster from the tank which ended up weighing 4lbs. It was cooked to perfection. The vibe was great with a live jazz band playing. The staff were attentive - Donna served us and made our experience extra special.

We tried to book this place on our holiday but it was full every night so we chanced it early one evening after a long day on the beach. They managed to sit us for an early dinner sitting by the beach and the setting was spot on. We had the lobster bisque and some spring rolls (which was a bit random) to start, both of which were full of flavour. We then had the medium Lobster for main and it was really good, although slightly over cooked. But not so much that it wasn't enjoyable. Service was a tad slow I'd say, but overall this is a great place to come for some fresh fish

Amazing restaurant, we just decided to pop in for dinner. And was absolutely taken away by the atmosphere. Live Jazz band playing music, and sing happy birthday to guest. We were sat by the beach with lovely decor all around us. We had lobster tail for dinner I opted for the creamy version, whereas my partner got the garlic butter one. I would recommend the garlic lobster the creamy version is nice but takes away from the lobster taste. For drinks we had blended fruits smoothie extremely delicious had to get 2. The icing on the cake was the carrot cake honestly just the best. Would recommend, also book if you want to get seated outside on the beach.

Great food - the lobster was the best I've ever eaten. Very meaty! Great service from Nadia and all the team. Atmosphere was weird. Full of old white Americans. Didn't feel authentically Barbadian at all. Not the kind of experience we were really looking for.

A delightful place right on the beach front. You can hire their sun loungers and have a beautiful lunch after. Sods law they had no live lobster in as they sold out yesterday, but the lobster tail was incredible, fresh and very moreish! Our waiter Joseph was lovely, very friendly and always on hand before we even asked for anything.

We went there for our Wedding Anniversary and it really was a special evening. (Thanks for the thoughtful cake) We sat on the deck and felt the atmosphere, enjoying the live band overlooking the tables and chairs on the beach. We had a medium lobster each with a great bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. Super.

It was a little subdued to my liking. I wanted to be at The Boatyard next door. They were full up. Anyway, the beach area was just the same as Boatyard. I was told you could rent a chair & umbrella, I don't know the cost. Place was busy, bartender, was running like crazy. Could see the kitchen staff working hard. Great place for older folks in my opinion. Steel drum player was great to watch, you could see he was enjoying himself. The dishwasher gal wanted NOTHING to do with anyone. Knocked on the door where she was working to ask her if there was "a changing area?" She looked at me nastily and then just ignored me. I wasn't there to eat, I was there to party, interact with folks, and use the beach...the beach was good.

Lovely little beach bar and restaurant, reasonable price for sun beds/ umbrella with drinks included. I didn't have any food but the rum punch was lovely and the people working were all very friendly! Access to facilities like showers and toilets and the most amazing view of the sea and surrounding beach. Also a reasonable walk from the cruise terminal around 40 minutes?

Great place to be!! Thus time around the lobster thermidor was a little to salt for me. The live jazz band was excellent!

Josef and Sheldon looked after me today - what a joy to have them looking after me! Great sense of humour and professional! They make the atmosphere great! The food was amazing! I had a lobster which was out of this world! If you don’t have booking come 3ish an easy to get a walk in table! Highly recommend!

Nice food in a lovely location. Very good wine prices. Unique sound of steel pan jamming in the background. Shame about the flies, but hey, it's dining on the beach! Plenty of shade provided.

We try and go every time we are in Barbados and it’s growing each time we come back. We reserved so was a bit disappointed when they said they had run out of lobster at 1:30pm but apparently it was a mix up And we got 3 lobster Thermidor tails, after a starter of lobster spring rolls (mega) lovely spot on the beach and they have just added a big deck with nice tables and the music is always live and good. Medium price range and definitely worth a visit if you’re near….

If you're looking for a night out where you can dance the night away, the Boatyard is the place to go. With live music and DJs, it's always lively and popular with Barbadians and visitors alike.
We've had wonderful day. You pay 60 bds and get 45 back to use at the bar (food and drinks). They also take you for a turtle snoorkeling. Beach is so fun, ropes and trampolinę to jump to the water! If you like to play in the water it is place for you! :)

My favourite place on the island! The staff are superb, the atmosphere and music is brilliant, the menu is varied and excellent, and the whole place has such a great vibe - what’s not to like! They offer a package which includes use of the beach etc, but I can only comment on the restaurant area. The waiting staff are brilliant, being always on hand on proactively getting drinks when needed. They keep checking up throughout your visit without being intrusive, but equally always there when needed. The menu is huge, with a great range of snacks, sides and meals. The portion sizes aren’t small so getting a filling meal is easy and everything I tasted was fantastic - cooked and presented well with great flavours. While it’s not hard to work out, it’s nice for the menu to display both US and Barbados Dollars next to each item and in general the prices are normal and reasonable for the island. It’s a colourful environment, with a great atmosphere, and I could easily spend a whole day here and can do nothing more than recommend - great place!

Fun! I’ve been snorkeling with sea turtles on other vacations but I wanted to make sure our kids did as well. We took the bus to the Boatyard on our recent Barbados vacation mainly to ensure we could snorkel with the turtles and see the shipwreck, and this option was more value money wise than some of the excursions. We were able to easily get chairs and umbrellas and sign up for the first boat ride of the morning. The one worker for the boat trip was kinda rude and snarky but the rest of the staff were all awesome. We were provided with a snorkel vest and gear so if you don’t already have that it’s no problem. They also have a spot to leave valuables while you are on the boat. We only saw one turtle but he was right there with us and I felt like we had plenty of time. After, the kids had a lot of fun on the rope swing, trampoline and slide. There were some waves the day we were there though. The food was pretty good and we had plenty of credit in the card they give you for all of us to get what we wanted. For my underwater pictures I used an AKASO Go7000.

Great place to spend in the beach. They give a drink and a transportation back to the ship (if you are in a cruise). There are a lot of amenities. Chairs and Umbrella, jump from the pier and there are slide in the beach. Very good service. I enjoy a lot.

Great day out... $60 with $45 food / drink credit for adults or $40 for children with $30 credit. Free sun loungers / WiFi / boat trip to see the turtles etc. Just be warned they get very busy so you need to time when you get drinks and food as it can be a 60mim wait, but hey Ho your on island time. Would visit again

Very much worth the price. Had an amazing day. I especially enjoyed the shipwreck snorkeling and swimming with the turtles tour which I was pleasantly surprised was included in the price. Also the two happy hours were well appreciated and utilized 😊. Lovely facilities will definitely return soon

Came as a cruise passenger. For $35 you get a beach chair with umbrella and are able to go on the boat to snorkel. I saw a sea turtle and a small shipwreck that was very cool. For the price it's a very nice deal. Service could be better and the people could be much friendlier but if you ignore those two things and focus on the ocean you'll be good. The taxi to get there is $5 a person and the shuttle back is free.

Read a few not so good reviews on tripadvisor. I didn't think it was bad at all, I really enjoyed the day at the boatyard, we were returning from a cruise and had a few hours to kill. Wish we could have stayed longer to be honest. Loved the beach and seeing the turtles

Great atmosphere, for $35us you get 2 chairs and an umbrella on the beach and a snorkle tour to see turtles and a wreck. They also have a floating slide and trampoline. Small parking area. Staff is friendly and great. Can't beat the views.

Fun place to hang out for a while, if you have some time to kill and want to be on the beach and have food and cocktails. Lots of options here, and seems to be filled with mostly people from cruise ships.
Brooks Jones — Google review
Came here 23yrs ago with the military and loved and now have returned on a cruise with the wife and we both loved it. Be prepared to spend money as it will cost approx £35 each for a sun bed and brolly and a free drink but the beach the inflatables and the bar and food are everything you'd want. Love this place.
Mark Verner — Google review
Loved this place, great vibe to the place. Well worth the money, lounger and umbrella, complimentary drink, free ride back to ship and the highlight was the boat trip out to swim /snorkel with turtles and over the shipwreck. Really friendly and helpful crew there. Thoroughly recommend.
Lesley Ann Scott — Google review
The food is great, beach Is great and our kids love the activities. The reason for the low star rating is the customer service experience with the captain of the snorkeling activities. He was rude to everyone on the boat and one girl almost cried because he yelled at her because she came on the boat without knowing how to swim. There's a way to speak to paying customers regardless of safety and rules. Do better to treat people like humans and not animals.
Sherry Brown Photography — Google review
Went here after seeing the positive reviews. Had an excellent experience. The service was great and the food and drink quality excellent. The beach is the highlight of course! Located at Carlisle Bay, they offer snorkelling by the ship wreck. Included in the price. There are some water activities like trampoline and slide. The price includes some credit for food and drinks.
Izzy G — Google review
In short, 100% worth it for the free boat tour. We were lucky enough to see a turtle while snorkeling near the shipwreck. Sometimes the hour you take the tour affects whether you'll be able to see any turtles, apparently your chances are better if you go between 10 am and noon. I would definitely do this activity again if I had enough time. The other amenities are great too. The use of a beach chair and umbrella is convenient. There's free wifi available, clean bathrooms, and a changing area. There were other activities we weren't able to get to but they looked fun: ocean trampoline, diving from the pier, swinging from a rope at the pier into the water, basketball. The coconut shrimp was gigantic and tasty enough. The staff is very helpful and friendly. This is a place designed for tourists and it delivers good customer service.

Fantastic place to spend a day at the Beach, it’s taken us three years to find this place. Forget the rest, this is the best! $35 entry, This Includes Sunbed, Umbrella, boat trip, Free Drink, Free shuttle Bus to the Cruise Terminal..

Two words: Must Visit! If you’re visiting Barbados on a cruise and want to spend the day on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean then I highly recommend The Boat Yard. It’s suitable for all ages and has lots of amenities, food and sun loungers. The entrance fee is $35 and this includes a complimentary Rum Punch drink, a Boat Trip to see the turtles, a sun lounger and umbrella and the rope swing/inflatables. They do lots of happy hour offers where most drinks will be 2 for $10 and buckets of 5 beers for around $15-20. The beach itself is situated on Carlisle Bay which is famous for its white washed beaches and is just a sunny slice of beach heaven! Highly recommend (from an ex-cruise worker) for a fun but relaxing day out!

Free Parking available.

We had to for 4 x entry fees, even though I of us was carrying our Ramadam they wouldn't waver them . They did, however, let us spend his credit in the bar. Which was a good as the total credit for 4 people was used paying for 3 drinks and 3 meals . A memorable day was enjoyed

Ignore the bad reviews. This place is class. For 70 bajan dollars each which includes a 45 bajan dollar voucher to spend at the bar for alcohol or food.a sunbed each and an umbrella . It also includes a 30 min snorkelling tour seeing turtles (which was worth the money just for that) I would say it was one of our best days and we'll worth the visit

La Cabane is a seaview restaurant in beautiful Batts Rock on the waterfront of St James. The setting is perfect for an romantic evening, with candlelight and swaying palm trees creating a tranquil and dreamy ambiance. The food is very good, and the live band provides added atmosphere and fun. The sunset views from the restaurant are simply stunning, making this an unforgettable dining experience.
Our favourite restaurant on the island! A unique dining experience in the sand, with an incredible view of the sea and sunset! The food and drinks are fantastic, and the service always great! We were on island for several weeks and went at least once a week! Book ahead, book for 5:30 so you get the sunset!! Their rum punch is top drawer!!

This place was amazing. The food and atmosphere was incredible.Clayton, our server was super knowledgeable, pleasant and his service was impeccable. It doesn’t hurt that the view is unmatched and that they serve the best rum punch in the island. Ceviche and amber fish amazing. Highly recommend this place.

A great location, literally the waves lapped to 2 feet away from my table. Staff was 100% friendly and welcoming. Food can be hit or miss (fries were great, lamb was just ok) but ambience and setting were unbeatable.

Really cool spot to go to for a dinner date. All the tables and chairs are right on the sand steps away from the beach. They were playing good music and the cocktails were delicious. We tried the spicy chicken and fish tacos for appetizers and both I highly recommend. I tried the catch of the day and my girlfriend tried the pork dinner. We tried four different sides and they were all really tasty, especially the mushrooms.

Wow….oozes beach class. It’s simple and basic in a way that screams quality. It’s not cheap - good dinner (starters, mains and booze) at £200. But the location is superb - get there for sunset - it’s a game changer. But you may need a local to show you where it is. It’s not somewhere you’ll find otherwise. Great menu - local fish and good steaks. Excellent wine list. All with typically friendly Barbados staff. Loved it.

Great food, service and location. The staff are really helpful and personable. The food has been great tasting on both visits and how lovely to eat by the sea too. Lovely evening meal on the beach. Hadn’t booked but the girls on the front desk were fab and got us a seat right by the band who were about to start. We had the fish tacos and a couple of the desserts with some drinks which were all great. Very photogenic site with a swing seat overlooking the sunset for people who want it. Big advantage is that they have a website so you can check out the menu before you go. All round great night.

This place is amazing👏. Hands down an exceptional experience, and the service is top of the line. We got the whole chicken done on the grill, and omg, it was amazing. The appetizers with the chicken and sweet plantains were to die for. The house sauce should be bottled and sold it. This entire experience was amazing, and I will be back with a group of people.

Lovely food and staff. Highly recommend for people who love freshly made seafood. The grilled octopus was top notch! Edit: Visited for the second time, couldn't get enough of this place! This time ordered fish tacos which were unbelievably tasty

Some restos have a few seats on the beach, this one is all on the beach. Dinner is an event with scrumptious food, great music, amazing ocean access, old movies on big screen, bonfire, torches and subdued lighting. The only minor - is Bajan time service. However the servers are extremely friendly and fun. This was definitely not the most expensive but best restaurant we went to on the island.

Absolutely beautiful spot on the beach. The perfect place to have dinner and watch the sunset. The menu is not huge but from what I saw there's something for everybody. This restaurant also has a full bar and on the night we were there a DJ.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Cabane restaurant in Barbados. The setting was absolutely breathtaking, with panoramic views of the crystal blue waters of Barbados stretching out before us. Speaking of the meal, the organic grilled veg salad with its Mediterranean-style sauce was an absolute delight. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and it was clear that the ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality. It was the perfect choice for a brunch by the beach. But it wasn't just the food and ambiance that stood out; the staff played a significant role in making our visit exceptional. They were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They patiently answered our questions and were willing to clarify our inquiries with the chef. If you're looking for a place that combines stunning views, delicious food, and a chic island vibe, this is the spot to visit.

What a excellent place to eat. From the moment we arrived, until the moment we left, the the staff were lovely. And the food was great too. We change our booking from 8.00pm to 5.30, to see the sun go down, and it was perfect. Thanks for a very nice evening La Cabane.

La Cabane is a must-visit! They have a small menu with a variety of choices. The iced coffee is 👌🏻and the smoothie bowl is delicious. And you can’t beat the view under the trees right on the seaside. Make a reservation because it is popular, and definitely do Saturday morning yoga with Tiffany.

Fabulous setting, sand, trees and the waves lapping the beach. The cocktails were amazing. The food was fabulous, in fact the portions are really generous, the first time we went we ordered too much. So on the second visit I made sure I had room for dessert! The staff are lovely, it's truly a great experience.

Dreamy setting, delicious food, Caribbean service. I heard it was French owned and thought it would be well run so we came here for our final lunch in Barbados. First of all it was tough to book as they required credit card info which is quite unusual for Barbados I can only imagine. We managed to get a walk-in table in the end but clearly not one of the nicer ones. The menu was fairly short but offered many different things. We tried the fish tacos, the dips and then the brisket and the vegetarian Joker bowl. Everything tasted delicious. Service was slow despite the place full of waiters walking around and joking. There was a 30min gap between when our two starters were served so we complained. We saw a lot of people waiting for their stuff but thankfully the scene is idyllic and you should just be grateful to be next to the sea enjoying yourself. Fish tacos and brisket were standouts for me. The place also has a hammock and a swing to make for Instagrammable pics. We paid $112 for two. Would come again and recommend.

A beautiful place for some amazing food! Somewhere a bit different on the island to relax and enjoy the stunning beach views. The fish tacos we had were the best we had in Barbados and the salads were as equally impressive. This place was one of the highlights of our trip and the hospitality was fantastic.

I visited La Cabane in Barbados recently and had a great time. It's right on the beach and has a really relaxed atmosphere. The ocean view is amazing. The staff were friendly, making me feel welcome right away. I tried some seafood dishes and they were fresh and tasty. Prices seemed fair for the quality and location. The place has a chill vibe, perfect for unwinding. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area. PS: Saw turtles !

I think this is the most authentic beach bar / Restaurant on the island, real rustic feel with a great menu, Fresh fish and meat served daily often grilled on a bbq on the beach, really good service and good value compared to most beach restaurants around n Barbados. We have been for lunch and dinner, both good but dinner is by candle light and very dark so difficult to see what you’re eating. The half chicken is superb, you need to book but a definite if your in Barbados 🇧🇧

Copacabana Beach Bar is a great place for a quiet retreat, with clear beautiful waters and fab views across the coastline. You can relax by the sea with some chilled-out vibes, and enjoy some delicious drinks in an atmospheric setting. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and there's plenty of space to spread out on the soft powdery sand.
Great place to sit by the beach and take in the world whilst relaxing. The beds are reasonably priced and the staff friendly enough. We got lunch here and it was great! The fish tacos were fantastic and the chicken wings were a surprising win. Loved them both

Amazing place, you wouldn't know it was there. Off the main road it looked like a normal building. You enter the reception area, still simple and follow through to the end, whereby you are met by a white sandy beach with umbrellas and sun loungers. Staff were extremely polite and friendly, food was freshly made, delicious and filling, couldn't have asked for more. Cocacabana Beach Club was clean and well maintained Definitely recommend, well worth a visit 👌

Excellent way to pass the time between leaving a cruise ship and a late flight back to the UK. Doesn’t look much from the road but it’s great inside, secure lock up for the suitcases, comfy lounger and umbrellas on a clean, white sand beach, great food & drinks selection and amazing changing room facilities to shower and dress for the journey. The $50 day rate includes a $20 voucher towards lunch. Fantastic value.

Anywhere on this beach is great. We choose here because this is where the taxi dropped us off at. It cost $5 to use their facilities (bathroom and shower.) They charge for the chairs and umbrella. We only got one chair to put our stuff on while we played in the water. Lazy Lizard Water Adventures will drive their boat right up to the beach for you to do a little snorkling with a shipwreck and another area to swim with turtles. It was totally worth it.

We had intended to go to Boatyard, like everyone else, but everyone else was there. So it was sold out. Our driver suggested Copacabana and we are glad he did. After some initial confusion, we got the cabana issue worked out. My complaint about that though, is that they came by and stated it was $20 for the cabana, very reasonable. But then found out that one of my kids was 13 and it was suddenly $30. Sorry, I dont consider a 13 year old an adult... I think you would do better to sell the cabana as a whole for a set price. $20 for one person or $20 for a family with kids... The bar was a bit understaffed and it took a good while to get a drink, but it did not ruin the day. The beach was nice and packed with umbrellas and chairs. The water was chilly and had a strong under current but everyone seemed to enjoy being out there. The cabana was a nice respite from the sun. I had not noticed the restaurant and other buildings until we left... I wish someone (maybe who took our $$ for the cabana) had told us about what amenities were available. Bathrooms were very clean.
