Belmont Estate

Mentioned on
Sights & Landmarks
Farms
Belmont Estate is a 17th-century working plantation located on a 395-acre plot between the parishes of St. Patrick and St. Andrew in Grenada's north side. It is an organic cocoa farm that also offers tours of its cocoa making facilities, as well as a museum and craft market where guests can purchase souvenirs. In addition to cocoa, the estate grows crops like cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, ginger and nutmeg.
Great tour well worth the trip. Kelli does a great job of giving all the history of the location and covers the whole process from cocoa to chocolate. You even get to taste the raw cocoa bean and "walk the beans". They also have many other spice and fruit plants, which he discusses as well. Chocolate is a little pricey in the shop but is delicious. We didn't get to eat at the restaurant but it looked great.

The whole island is breath taking and just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I saw a parrot. His name is Rainbow. He's so dang cute. [I quickly cut the video to interac with him afterward.] Best. Day. Ever.

Kell is a rock star and excellent tour guide. A definite place to visit if you are fortunate enough to visit Grenada. It is great to see an business put some much effort to make sure people have jobs, especially in the crazy COVID times.

One of the best Estate tours I’ve been on. Our tour guide Jason or J made this experience the best yet for us. Very informative and interactive. Taste, touch, smell, like a touch museum. You will not regret this tour. I will visit again to try the restaurant

This was an amazing experience. Our tour guide, Sheldon, was A++. The lunch was delicious. The servers were friendly and attentive. The restaurant bathrooms were really clean. It was a great atmosphere and experience.

We had a jeep so drove here as it looked so lovely and we wanted to explore further north in Grenada. We nearly didn’t do the tour as it had just started- (they run regularly thru the day) & at $16 EC pp (£5) is a Bargain! But Kelly kindly let us join and he actually made our visit. He was fantastic! Not sure how much you pay Kelly but he deserves a raise! 😃 and a bonus. He was so enthusiastic, passionate about Belmont, very interesting and also so entertaining. Absolutely amazing tour (30/40 mins) there is no hard sell but we bought and tasted chocolate which is delicious. Also ate in the beautiful restaurant (you can have just one course and not 3 of you don’t want a big lunch) What an amazing experience! Massive thanks to Kelly please, just fantastic 👌

Amazing tour and meal! Highly encourage all Grenada visitors to check out this beautiful spot with amazing history. Such friendly hosts!

Very nice tour. Our tour guide was very knowlegeable and entertaining. We were able to meet the owner of the estate. The grounds are the typical Caribbean lushness that is so enjoyable. They have some spider orchids in the estate. The tour included the history of the estate, the making of chocolate, and ended with a chocolate tasting. We left with some chocolate bars, tea, and nutmeg. There is, also, a restaurant on property. Highly enjoyed this tour.

This Georgian estate is a peculiar site to see on Grenada. The ‘museum’ itself is more like an odd collection of 100-200 year old bits however, the tour is insightful into their very artisan way of making chocolate, which is at minimum entertaining especially since it includes chocolate tasting ~ the milk chocolate is wondrous! The lunch has stunning views and excellent service, some of the food is an acquired taste but all round a fun and well priced day out!

Belmont is definitely a highlight of the island. You can choose to take a chocolate making tour, wander around the lovely grounds yourself, or just eat at the restaurant. The food was buffet but excellent with excellent service.

The Bean to Bar tour with Kelly was excellent! The entire process was clearly explained and showed and experienced and tasted. From seeing the cacao trees to the cocoa beans processed to the tour by the Master Chocolatier , it was a wonderful sensory experience. If you like chocolate, you must do this tour!! Lunch was delicious as well!

Very interesting tour of coco processing and making chocolate. Our guide was friendly and informative. Only $6 a person with a few samples to boot.

Belmont Estate and our guide were really amazing. We loved to see the whole process, explanations, and tasting. It's definitely worth the effort to go there. Best to reach by car.

Amazing Chocolate Tour! Must do if you have the chance. Kell is amazing and knocks it out of the park. I have been on a lot of tours in my life but this one is up there in the top for education, presentation and experience. Our timing was perfect as it ended up only being me and my wife having our own tour guide and because of his effort and skill we have a greater appreciation for chocolate and Belmont chocolate specifically and their sustainability practices but also the economic choices by taking the island into consideration over production.

Love the tour so much I've taken it a couple of times. The history, production process, and amazing views are definitely worth the cost of admission. If you aren't that into the chocolate production, you can skip directly to the chocolate shop at the end, but don't forget to get yourself some goat cheese as well. They also have a great restaurant that makes the process of choosing what you want for dinner very simple. Highly suggest visiting if you have some free time on the Island.

Awesome tour of a working chocolate factory from picking coco pods through finished products. Our guide was very knowledgeable about every step of the process and funny too!

Lunch here was absolutely delicious. The view amazing and the staff polite and attentive. Belmont Estate is nestled in the semi mountainous area of the most northern part of the island. If you like nature and all things organic, this is the place to be. I decided to have lunch here and made 2pm reservations. A three course buffet style (farm to table) lunch is served here; affordably priced at $75. I opted for the split pea soup to start and was wowed by the taste. For lunch, I tried a little bit of everything, see video. Presentation and taste, both impressive. The coconut cake for dessert was totally delightful. Oh, how could I forget the mouth watering and refreshing locally made ginger beer. I am guilty of having two glasses, lol. Kudos to Koreen and Kerrisa for taking care of me. Both were professional, friendly and attentive. They are indeed an asset to your team and I can tell that they are proud to provide excellent service at all times in a team spirit effort of elevating your brand. I made a brief visit to the chocolate factory where I met Cindy who politely took care of me. Another beautiful addition to your team. I left impressed on all levels and will highly recommend Belmont Estate to anyone visiting Grenada.

Lunch was locally grown food, and I love it. Cook on the coal pot brought back so many memories. It's also great to make a lunch reservation. First time having christophin soup, and I had to recreate my version. I did not do a tour of the local cocoa, but it's an option for those interested. Walking around the property, you felt so free, and the fresh air was great. You can also buy locally grown chocolate among other stuff.

Beautiful Plantation grounds. Had an excellent tour done by Kelly. I think he is synonymous with the estate because most people I know that have been here mentions his excellent tour. The tour takes you from start to finish making a chocolate bar. The gift shops has all the products the make for sale. I gave this 4/5 stars only because of the buffet lunch. It was just ok. To be frank, underwhelming after an amazing tour. I think this is a must stop for locals and tourists alike.

Bathway Beach

Outdoor Activities
Bathway Beach, situated on the northeastern coast of Grenada near Levera National Park, is a secluded and unspoiled tropical paradise. Its golden sandy beach offers a designated reef area for snorkeling, while restrooms and a snack kiosk are available nearby. However, strong currents and sharp coral make it dangerous to swim outside of the protected reef zone.
I actually really like the place. Lots of space to run and have fun and relax and just chill. The view is just magical, try going in the morning amd you will be blown away by the natural magical art of the whole scenery. The water is warm even in the night, maybe its just me but the water is warm. It's reasonable in roughness, not always calm but it not very rough too, it makes for a good place to really play in the water and have fun. The sand is nice and what and beautiful. The beach is perfect for a drink with friends for a BBQ with the family all of that is perfect for the beach. Try it out.

I know this beach for being a nice quiet chill on a Sunday. There's a few local bars and eateries open where you could eat before sunset however the menus are limited so bare this in mind. If you go take the opportunity to go to the Welcome Stone prior to going to the beach you won't be dissapointed - the views are amazing.

One of the white sand beaches in Grenada. It's a beautiful site and is great for family outings

I have recently visited that beautiful place by sharing hiking, walking and running activities with the facebook group called: Grenada Hash House Harriers of which I am a member and in which various activities are organized every Saturday in different parts of the island, really I recommend them to all my Google followers. The place is truly wonderful, its beach, nature, mountains, vegetation and the local people. I recommend it to you all my dear followers,

Oh God it's beautiful! The crystal clear water in very inviting Imagine laying on the stretched out white sand enjoying the cool breeze and warm kisses from the sun. Have the munchies? Food, snacks and beverages are a few steps away, some of the food stalls provide an open WiFi. Cell reception is fair although in some areas the connection may drop. Accessible Public restroom and shower facility. Bathway is on the list of places you must visit.

Nice, relaxing beach on the north end. Do the turtle tour!!!!!!! Its only $20USD and well worth it. Beach is clean and quiet. Local food and drinks are available at the windows, but not all of them are always open. Bar has been open on and off, bartender is quiet but friendly.

Bathway Beach is always a lovely place to chill out. There are washrooms available for only 1EC. There are a number of seating area for you and a group to sit and eat or just relax. You can also go relax in the sand as well. There is also numerous bars which provide food, snacks and drinks.

It's a beautiful beach. Stong waves. Good fried chicken. Bath and restrooms for a buck.

Beautiful beach, with a rock shelf offering some protection from the waves for swimming. We only stopped briefly as part of a driving tour, so I didn't check out any of the facilities.

Levera Beach, located within the Levera National Park on the northern tip of Grenada, is a popular nesting site for leatherback sea turtles. The beach boasts eroded cliffs and views of Sugar Loaf Island, making it a picturesque destination despite rough waters that make swimming difficult. Visitors can join one of the park's nesting turtle tours from April to July to witness this magical event firsthand.
Really nice place .people have to visit this place. not cloudy clean and nice

I only gave 3 stars because we drove all the way from St George's. It was a great twisty turny ride up and down mountains. The beach was empty with lots of driftwood all over the place. If you happen to voyage to the area, Bathway Beach is much better.
Sean Ace — Google review
Solitary beach is accessed by a gravel road, which is a good thing. Apparently uncared for, like most of Grenada's attractions. Shocked to see a building project (with no access ) within the confines of the National Park.

Beautiful and relaxing beach 🏖 A breathtaking view north and the vast openness of the sea await. A rather isolated stretch of white sand in the Parish of St. Patrick, Levera emits a sense of timelessness. It is important to note that this beach is closed at night during the months of March to August each year for the leatherback turtles nesting season.

A quiet beach guarded by a coral sea wall. Lifeguards on duty. A few small bars/ restaurants are on the beach.
