Churches & Cathedrals
A significant feature of Mirozhsky Monastery is the UNESCO-protected Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Saviour, renowned for its 12th-century frescos that provide a comprehensive depiction of biblical events surviving Mongol invasions. The Byzantine-style frescos have undergone partial restoration after centuries of harm from flooding, whitewashing and cleaning; presently, about 80% remain original.
Really blessed place, full of themes from Gospels. The ambiance is very calm and inviting the soul to prayer and contemplation. All the Icons are very artistically excellent, especially the transfiguration.

(Translated by Google) Great cathedral. Amazing architecture. Me and my foreign friends like it. Beautiful outside and inside. And most importantly, if you believe and ask, everything “works”... Nearby is the Mechnikov hospital, many people come here to ask for the healing of sick relatives. I asked too. It’s good that the temple is located in a park, beautiful, quiet and calm, next to tram stop 1.
LIFE ADVENTURES — Google review
(Translated by Google) The main cathedral of the city. The cathedral was built in the style of classicism, the first mention of it was in 1787. It is interesting that the first project of this temple envisaged a building larger than St. Paul's Cathedral in Rome, but it did not happen as expected. Due to the death of Catherine the Second and her favorite Grigory Potemkin, the project of building the church was revised, actually from that time to this day the cathedral has an almost unchanged appearance. The temple is in excellent condition and gladly welcomes believers not only from the Dnipro, but from all over the country (Original)

(Translated by Google) The Great Cathedral is a remarkable place in the city. A little history. Before the revolution of 17, the largest in the city. I remember the stories of history teachers at school: Potemkin was still thinking about it when he decided to build the city of Yekaterinoslav and the Temple should be as large-scale as St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome. But the beginning of the Turkish War depleted the treasury and as a result the Council turned out to be 6 times smaller than planned. From 1930 to 1988, there were no services in the Temple. There was a paper warehouse for the Zorya publishing house and since 1975 it has been a museum of Religion and Atheism. Now the Temple is active and very visited; especially on Orthodox religious holidays, many people come here. Both the Church and the Cathedral (Oktyabrskaya) Square itself - a historical place in the city, the townspeople are truly proud of and love. It's very nice here. A great place for a leisurely stroll.

The Diorama "Battle for the Dnipro" is a must-visit museum in the heart of Dnipro, Ukraine. It showcases scenes from one of the biggest battles during World War II that occurred on the Eastern Front. History enthusiasts would appreciate their visit, especially with Soviet music playing in the background to create an authentic atmosphere. The museum also features a display of military equipment used during Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2014. English information boards are available for visitors' convenience.
One of the most intresting place to visit in Dnipro. The story of brave soldiers will touch to your heart. Short video Narrated in English also. Its free and worthy to spend some quality time.

Well worth a visit especially as it is virtually in the centre of Dnipro and easy to get to. Our visit was just to see the diorama "Battle of the Dnieper" which was built to commemorate the huge battle that took place in 1943 on the Eastern Front. If you are interested in WW2 history you should enjoy this brief visit especially with the accompanying Soviet music that adds to the atmosphere. Outside this small museum there is also currently a display of some military hardware from the Russia Ukraine conflict of 2014 which was also very interesting. There are some information boards in English.

Nature & Parks
Park
Lazar Globa Park, situated along Dmytro Jawornyzkyj Avenue, is the oldest park in the city of Dnipros. This family-friendly nature park boasts a large lake and offers various forms of entertainment such as a children's ring railway and go-kart center. Visitors can also enjoy a ride on the Ferris wheel for an ultimate view of the city and Dnieper River.
So my friend and I bored out of our minds decided to go out today. We did'nt know any fun places, or where to go so we settled on coffee at the pretty Zeffrino place just opposite the park. After that, we decided to take a stroll in the park and it turned out to be the funnest thing we had done in ages. Theres a lot of family friendly activities and individual activities for all age groups. We saw ping pong tables, automatic mini toy cars, game shooting ranges, we tried the ferris wheel. There is also virtual reality show rooms, a reptile zoo(has non reptiles too though). To cap it, we walked further down and found a go-carting arena. There are numerous playgrounds with swings, slides and see-saws. There is an obstacle course or two. A mini train.I saw people riding on bikes so maybe you can rent them here, I also saw a pony and a horse. People riding plastic boat thingys on the lake. Average price for a ride everywhere is 50 UAH. We would definitely be going back to hop on more rides. Oh! Lots of snacks and there's cotton candy and the corn stuff (the usual ), coffee. There's a labyrinth type thing too but we couldn't figure it out P.s the rides are really old. The ferris wheel wasn't as fast as we'd like, also saw a roller coaster that wasnt in use. You will definitely find something to do. If not, walk around and watch others. Also, take cool pictures.

Perfect location of park in the city center. Unfortunately, the park is needed for improvement due to the old infrastructure.

The oldest park in the city is next to Dmytro Jawornyzkyj Avenue, and is a place of relaxation and fun for Dnipro’s residents. Complementing the lawns and long, leafy walkways, there’s another small amusement park here. The showpiece is the Ferris wheel, granting a complete view of the city and the Dnieper. When it’s warm you can hire a pedalo for the park’s pond and the striking concrete “Summer Theatre” lays on entertainment for kids. Also see if you can find the Little Prince Fountain, inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s character and installed in 2002

Very large park with beautiful tall trees. Lots of stuff here for kids to do, even a half scale size real train that is run by kids, but you need a ticket so go the realistic train station and get your ticket! Park also has a lot of food options etc., so everyone can be happy and in the center is a small lake with ducks and small boats to rent. If you are here with family this is a good place to go.

That feeling doesnt go away... Sadness. Yeah sadness that this place was amazing perfect, but 30 yeas ago or 40. Now it can be amazing. That pond with ducks... You can fed them, but cant buy correct food for ducks near this pound. In the center of pound, there is an old USSR theatre, but its closed because of time and no doing any repairing actions with it. Just money stealing as usually.😭

The park could use a little brush, repair roads, theater and the pond with ducks. Other than that is a nice park for a walk, good for kids with its mini - train that circles around the whole park and stuff like that

(Translated by Google) An interesting place, where you can sit quietly on a bench or take a walk with your children. There are rumors that a monument to Stalin once stood on the site of this monument, and only then its head was changed to the head of Shevchenko, although this is a lie and the monument to Shevchenko has been standing since 1959. Nearby, under the temple, there are also interesting places where you can sit without being disturbed by others.

(Translated by Google) On the beautiful Monastic Island there is a monument to Taras Shevchenko, which fascinates with its grandeur and the slightly frightening, menacing gaze it looks at you. This is his highlight and, in fact, Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko himself.

(Translated by Google) The first bust of Taras Shevchenko on Monastyrsky Island appeared back in 1925 on the alley of monuments, and if we talk specifically about this monument, then it was opened on November 5, 1959. This happened simultaneously with the renaming of the historical Potemkin Garden into the “Park named after Comrade Shevchenko”. There were three monuments in total. The total height of the monument with the pedestal is 20 meters, and its weight is 55 tons. In the summer of 2011, complete restoration of the monument began and in March 2014, for the poet’s birthday, the monument was completely restored, although there were typos in the inscriptions (which were later corrected after an online scandal). If I'm not mistaken, here Taras Shevchenko is 29 years old - that's exactly how old he was when he visited Ekaterinoslav.

The Dmytro Yavornytskyi National Historical Museum in Ukraine showcases a diverse collection of historical artifacts, including artwork, porcelain, furniture, and weaponry from the Dnieper region. Other notable museums in the area include the Aerospace Museum and the Museum of Vintage Cars. The city's wharf is considered to be Europe's longest at 18.6 miles (30 km).
Nice history museum, though not all exhibits have tags in other languages. There are plenty of exhibits going from prehistory all the way to the 20th century. Mixed fillings about this one. One can tell that they train their personal on service but maybe we got very unlucky with our server. Food was good, not excellent but good. However when we noted to the server that the coffee was below mediocre quality he started to argue that we don't know much about coffee and that they have "the best" coffee in town. We weren't offered anything in exchange or something better. Server wasn't very quick on serving the coffee either. Situation was awkward and we didn't want to argue. After all - not such a big deal. But for "the best and one of the oldest" places in town... When we were asked if everything was all right at the exit, we described our experience and they did absolutely nothing. No apologies. Nothing. So, the food is ok. The server (the one we had) was snobbish. And no - we will not come back to this restaurant. P.S. Thank you for a quick response. It happened back in September. Balcony level. Inside. Table was closer to the elevator on the right side. The waiter looked like experienced employee and that what surprised me the most. Our company was dressed casually but i don't think it should affect quality of the service in any way...

I rarely write any comments but on this one I had to. I have been to plenty of restaurants in deniper. And I haven’t seen such rudeness from not just one waiter not even two !!. But the rudeness was from the whole workers as if they were cooperating to make sure to let us out of the restaurant. When we entered the waiter said guys it’s Saturday and at 6 pm you have to go out. And whenever we want to order the waiter says this is expensive and you don’t need it !!. We kept calm and requested to order another thing and the answer was you won’t like this dish !!. Even though there are two of us are Ukrainians we asked for a person that could speak English and the answer was we speak ukranians we are in ukraine!!. Are we in a war here or something!!. Our friend requested lemonade juice or mohito and what he said this is not the lemonade season you won’t like it. Briefly i wanted to talk to a supervisor but unfortunately they all cooperated to not to call him. And we went out with canceling everything and went to another Better restaurant. This is my worst experience in my life

Georgian restaurant
Puri Chveni is a trendy eatery that specializes in authentic Georgian cuisine, housed in a stylish warehouse-style setting. The food quality is satisfactory, with the lamb kebab being particularly well-prepared and complemented by a delightful sauce. However, the service leaves much to be desired as it lacks friendliness and feels almost like an inconvenience to the staff. It seems this issue arises consistently from one particular employee who appears disinterested and unhelpful.
Definitely a place to go in Dnipro! Especially if you never tried Georgian cuisine. Ah… it was so delicious. The only downside- we couldn’t stop ordering and in the end it was very painful to walk :) By the way, they have options for vegetarians, so I felt that I had a lot of options to try. Food reasonably good. I had a lamb kebab which was well cooked with a very nice sauce to go with it. I had to ask what dish might compliment it and was advised to try the potato dish. The service however is atrocious, not from and efficiency perspective but just incredibly unfriendly and I felt it was almost like he was doing me a favour to attend our table..I'd say if he ever smiled, his face would crack. Having read similar reviews, it appears to be the same guy. My advice, if he isn't happy..get a job somewhere else as he is harming the business.

Generally good food, but horrible service. The waiter and the manager were super rude, I don't think they even know how to smile. One of the customers in the restaurant was extremely inappropriate towards my friend at the table and the waiter did nothing, even after we complained. We also got a wrong order and were told if we want to get the right order we have to wait another 40 minutes (and this was said in a very unapologetic way). I mentioned that after service like this I expect a discount. Obviously, no discount was provided. I persisted that I expected some sort of concession, and with poker face the waiter left and came back 10 minutes later with a $2 bottle of wine.

I haven't been there for about a year and now I see great improvements in design and menu. Meals are nice looking and extremely tasty. Well done!

Best meal I've had in Ukraine! Steak and tuna steak as well as the creme brulee. All staff speaks English so was very pleasant experience. Make reservations!
