Manufaktura is a stunning shopping complex that has been renovated from 19th century manufacturing buildings. The exterior is breathtaking and the square in front of the mall spacious. It offers a variety of attractions such as museums, cinema, bowling alley, ice skating rink and numerous shops. The restaurants and cafes are also plentiful and offer an excellent selection to choose from. This mall provides ample space for shopping needs along with great options for dining and entertainment making it an ideal destination for any day out.
Such a beautiful place. These manufacturing buildings have been renovated and they are beautiful. Place is full of great restaurants, shops, mall, place for ice skating

Best place in town to hang out, especially at night by nice weather, with beautiful illuminations and outdoor entertainment, from water fountains to ferris wheel. Plenty of eateries to choose from, so many that it is even difficult to make a choice. Bar choice is a little limited, and that's the only minus of going there to enjoy a nice walk and spend a good relaxing time.

The mall has literally any shop I could think of, you can do shopping or eat, I liked the food court in the first floor. The brown old buildings look amazing and it’s very kids friendly as there is a park and playground.

Beautifully restored and renovated industrial complex from the turn of the century. It used to be a weaving mill with outbuildings for staff, administration, etc.
It is now home to shops, restaurants, cafés and bars and has a wonderful atmosphere, especially in the evenings.
The complex also includes the first-class Vienna Hotel, which is highly recommended.
Of the restaurants in the area, we visited the Mexican and the Italian and were very satisfied both times.

Great place to spend time at. I visited it in December, winter evenings are especially beautiful there when everything lights up. While the inside and surrounding buildings are basically a mall, inner square set up as a fair with different events was probably the most interesting part. Location is also great since other places of interest are few minutes away, either walking or driving a bus/trolleybus. Don't forget to visit Pączkarnia on your way in or out. You will not miss it as it's on your way to Manufaktura from the trolleybus stop near ferris wheel and will definitely not regret trying those delicious paczki!

It's an ideal destination for those interested in observing the fusion of old and new architecture. Along this 5km street, visitors can find various shops and dining venues to explore.

Księży Młyn is a city district that boasts numerous large, brick-built textile factories dating back to the 19th century. This well-preserved workers' neighborhood from the same era centers around an old cotton mill and is currently undergoing major renovations in its residential areas. Although not heavily frequented by tourists, Księży Młyn offers a fascinating glimpse into the development of an old mill and its associated housing from the late 1800s.
Fantastic and well preserved XIX century workers neighborhood - organized around old cotton mill. During our visit (October 2021) the residential part was under major renovation. The place is not too much frequented by the tourist but well worth a stroll around.

The tourist information centre recommended visiting, and I found this district a more interesting example of renovation of Lodz’s handsome old textile industry buildings than Manufaktura. It’s a pleasant and peaceful area to stroll around, although there was some construction underway & the renovation is clearly work in progress. Had a lovely good-value set lunch at Three Chimneys, which is in one of the renovated buildings

Pasaż Róży is a hidden gem in Lodz, adorned with pieces of shattered mirrors in the form of roses. The courtyard and tenement building reflect the sun's rays beautifully, making it a must-see attraction. At the end of the patio lies a rose garden that adds to its beauty. Created by artist Joanna Rajkowska, this artwork has an intriguing backstory worth exploring via Google search.

Little passage between Piotrkowska 3 and Al. Kościuszki, with all buildings decorated in mirror mosaic, forming rosette shapes on the walls. Such a picturesque place with beautiful history. It’s free to walk by but please be respectful to people that live there.
Aleksandra Kwaśnica — Google review
The author of the project is the artist Joanna Rajkowska. Pasaż Róża, unlike the previous works of the author, is much more personal and related to the illness of the artist's daughter Roza. The implementation of the project - gluing the cut pieces of mirror to the walls of the building was a very labor-intensive process, but the result is wonderful. The light-reflecting mosaic brings the dark courtyard to life, and the mirror fragments create seemingly disjointed and distorted images, symbolizing the artist's daughter's diseased retina. This is the basic task of the Pasaż Róża project - to force passers-by to make an effort to reassemble the fragments of reality into a unified picture, and it has a symbolic meaning. The artist's daughter had to have her retina reconstructed after undergoing chemotherapy, after the disease she can see only partially, it is possible that the girl's way of perceiving reality also consists of merging fragments of one image into a single image.

I was in Lodz in 1997. It seemed to be a typical Eastern European city. I am sure it has changed a lot since then as my few remaining Polish employees tell me that modern Poland is not the same as when I was there several times from 1992 to 2000. I am British and the Polish people who have worked for me are some of the best employees and nicest people I have met. All the Polish people here now are older and normally came here 20 years ago. They have children born here who often do not speak much Polish and they do not want to go back to Poland as most of their adult life has been spent here.
It is such as a shame that Britain has cut itself off from its friends and neighbours due to Brexit in order to give more power and money to billionaires in London who created and funded the whole Brexit campaign based on utter lies. We are now poorer and have lost many of our human rights eg to work or live in Europe.
I hope we will eventually rejoin the EU. It will be too late for me, but it is the right thing to do for my children and future grandchildren.
The Planetarium EC1 offers a variety of educational and entertaining space shows, as well as music and fairy tale presentations suitable for children. The visual effects are impressive and the main video is in English, with Polish language used only for the introduction and conclusion. "Undiscovered Worlds" is one of the featured shows, created specifically for Boston's planetarium. For an admission fee of 7.5 GBP per two adult tickets, visitors can enjoy a worthwhile experience at this planetarium.

I've visited the museum and it was pretty nice. Nothing is written in English at the entrance, but don't worry. Inside everything is presented in Polish, English and French. The price is a too expensive for the length of the exposition, even for some people that love this kind of stuff.

I expected something more exciting. Movie was extremely boring (Apollo mission),no 3D glasses, not allowed to eat popcorn or drink in the cinema. 15mins introduction in Polish, more boring then lesson in primary school then movie.I took headphones with English language but I couldn't hear a ward. Headphones are rubbish like from £1 shop and the music and polish language is so loud that it's impossible to hear anything in English. I understood polish but I took headphones for my wife and son. To be honest it doesn't even matter if people could hear with headphones or not because it was terribly boring. I struggled to stay to the end.
The botanical garden known as the Palm House boasts a variety of decorative flowerbeds, a Japanese-inspired garden and an expansive greenhouse filled with lush palms. A popular attraction for families with children, visitors can marvel at live banana trees and koi fish during their approximate 20-minute exploration journey, provided that they pay the 10zl entrance fee. The overall experience is pleasant, however, there is room for expansion to accommodate for more collections of plants.
A lovely little palm house in Lodz. Very well maintained, diverse flora, while the ‘feedable’ fish and turtles are a hit with the kids. I also loved the diversity of the cactus garden, where I could happily spend a lot of time. This is a very intereesting museum. The building has been a prison for about 70-80 years. Then it was made a museum and in 1990 the last name and theme was given. However, the only English piece of writing is in the entrance telling about the history of the building. Everything is in Polish inside. The city is receiving a lot of foreign students and is a major one in the country. So I hope one day they will put at least English translation and make it a spectacular museum. The staff were polite and inviting. They did not ask for any money so I guess it is free. Despite the language barrier, it is worth going in order to see the prison side, Polish history, many films and the process of leaving communism for capitalism.

The Herbst Palace is one of the pearls of Łódź. The villa was built in 1876 for the daughter of the largest entrepreneur in Łódź, Karol Scheibler - Matylda and her husband Edward Herbst, who after the death of his father-in-law became the director of the Scheibler textile plant🏭
👉 Currently you can watch the restored interiors of the palace, which was destroyed in the times of Poland. Unfortunately, there is no Herbst family furniture here, but there are period pieces. Beautiful tiled stoves are impressive, just like the ballroom or mirror room 💛 In the summer, it's worth visiting the rose gardens and the art gallery, where the paintings of Gierymski, Matejko, Tetmajer reign. Therefore, I recommend not to give up the ticket to the gallery. Sightseeing time about 2.5 hours

The Herbst Palace is inseparably linked to the history of the Herbst and the Scheibler families, considered the wealthiest and most influential industrialist families not only in Łódź, but in all of Poland in the 2nd half of the 19th century. The design of the interiors and the new arrangement of the rooms were based on documents from the Office of the Head Conservationist and archival photographic material that was uncovered. New sources of information have enabled preservationists to restore the interiors to what they might have looked like when the Herbst family lived in the Palace.
When in the 1970s the villa of the Herbst family was taken over by the Muzeum Sztuki (Museum of Art) in Łódź to transform it into a functioning exhibition of its interiors, the lack of original furnishings and sufficient documentation were serious challenges. The Palace was initially designed based on much more limited access to information and archival materials. Recent research studies have substantially expanded the Museum's knowledge in these areas.
Following the renovation the rooms in the Palace are more impressive and much closer to the original style. Details have been carefully restored, the furniture in the exhibition has been renovated and the current wallpaper pattern is much more similar to the historical original as well. The exhibition shows lavishly furnished representation halls and private rooms of the owners while new exhibition layout smoothly pulls you into the spirit of the epoch.

One of the most beautiful palaces of Lodz. An opportunity to see how the richest families of Lodz used to live. The beautiful garden bwhind the palace and also renovated carriage house with museum of art inside. Works of art of the most famous polish painters ( e.g. Matejko, Wyspianski) . „Sleeping Mietek” painted by Wyspianski - one of the most recognizable polish paintings.
The Centrum Nauki i Techniki EC1 is an impressive museum located in the heart of Lodz, Poland's city centre redevelopment plan. Originally a coal-fired power station from the early 1900s, it has been restored to serve as an educational hub where visitors can explore and interact with hands-on exhibits that delve into various scientific principles such as atomic physics, electromagnetism and optics. The museum boasts excellent guides who are available to answer questions (most of whom speak good English).
The place is attractive either to walk around outdoor (free) or experience the tour inside the facility (paid). Anyway the impressive machinery is all around here. Cool place to the tech lovers.

Fantastic science and technology centre, much quieter than Copernicus Centre in Warsaw and with the best and the most modern Planetarium on the site, not even mentioning smaller Spheric Cinema inside EC1. There are 3 floors packed with attractions and technology/scientific hands-on exhibits. Every time we visit we discover new spaces (for instance laboratories) and new temporary exhibitions. When you are there try to explore all side corridorrs/rooms as they lead to more parts of this interactive centre - for instance remember on the 3rd floor turn not only into the more visible exhibition about energy on the right, but explore corridor on the left leading to the waves room. Also next to the (currently closed) cafe, there are doors leading to another circular exhibition space. Young kids (and older ones :-)) would love signal room - on the mezzanine floor. Separate entrance leads to The Elements Street - play space for younger kids. The museum is disabled friendly: plenty of accesible toilets, ramps, lifts, Braille notices. Descriptions of exhibits/experiments available also in English. Currently there is great exhibition available: "The Mysteries of Pollens". Check website for special events.

One of the best science and technology exhibition I have ever bin to in Poland. Its designed to explain how electricity is produced from coal with old technology till the latest one. It also has some of the exhibition which explains about how stuff work significantly. It is useful for kids from the age of 10 to adult. I learnt a lot here. And also has a small planetarium with 3D animated videos. You can spend a whole day reading and knowing stuff including about international space station. But the food served here is too bad.

A botanical garden in the middle of Lodz. On arrival, we found it to look a little run down and tatty. BUT it is actually a real gem. The fact it is not as manicured as most gardens you pay to enter, seems to add to its charm. It is a little wildlife haven. We saw a very friendly red squirrel, nut hatches, woodpeckers and frogs.
I think the flower beds were between plantings as I have seen photos from early spring visitors and the tulip displays look amazing.

"OFF Piotrkowska" is a historic route in Lodz, once a major city axis and now a bustling promenade lined with beautifully renovated tenement houses. It has become a symbol of Lodz's transformation, featuring creative workshops, concept stores, art studios, and trendy restaurants. This trendy alternative to Manufaktura is located in a former industrial cotton mill dating back to the 19th century.

Great food, combination of European and local. The tenderloin with pear, onion, polish cider and a lot of veggies was more than great. Also the mushrooms in white wine were awesome. Prices are high for Polish standards, but the reason is the best quality of dishes you can wish for. Wines are a bit expensive, but for most European tourists it is a really affordable price. Great atmosphere in old textile building with local shops, a few restaurants and a great alternative / electronic music club. Highly recommended restaurant and area!

The Central Museum of Textiles is an impressive museum located in Lodz, Poland. It features exhibits on a variety of topics such as the design and manufacturing of textiles in a renovated factory setting. Visitors can explore traditional homes from different periods of Polish history and gain insight into the lives of workers throughout time. The museum offers great exhibits with explanations in both Polish and English, making it easily accessible to all visitors. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.
Very impressive museum! ✨ Inside is like a small town to show how was the life for workers in old times, it suddenly drive you to that moment when you enter ❤️ And of course here you can find lots of old textile machines, and the machine will be turned on every half of hour if you want to see how exactly it is working 🧵Moreover, you will have a chance to feel the old fashion of clothes👗 Last but not least, if you would like to see every corner of the museum, be prepared for a 2 hour visiting.

Great museum and very helpful staff! The main building is disabled visitor friendly too (elevators, wide corridors, nice audio-guide with great audio-descriptions for blind and low-vision users)! Not sure about the wheelchair accessibility of the courtyard (cobblestone) and huts (thresholds), you should probably ask the staff at the ticket office. You can choose how many exhibitions you see depending on the time you have for your visit. Will definitely come back!

Well designed and presented the industrial history of Łodź - its humble beginnings, the golden days and eventual decline. You can learn about variety of different elements that combined together can, to some extent at least, explain the reality of today's Łódź - the history, politics, sociology, technology, and more. You can visit the actual old factory building that focuses on the machinery used in the textile industry, and there also are old houses moved from various parts of the city. These houses serve as unique time capsules, each offering a glimpse into daily life of people living in defining periods of the city's history.

Impressive museum! From outside you don't expect much, then inside is a huge surprise.
You have traditional homes to visit and see how life was in different periods of Polish history, amazing.
The textile factory museum also very interesting to understand how it has evolved and influenced the life of the city.
Congratulations to Łódz on this amazing place.

Interesting museum showing how important the textile industry was in Łódź as well as how life was for the workers. There are a few houses showing local industry and tools as well as living quarters.
The large building shows off the different types of looms and systems in use with the above floors showing end products and a bit of local history.
I think it as Free on Tuesday which makes it even better and it’s not too much of a walk from the town centre, but also serviceable by tram.

The museum has an open air area, a Textiles exhibition and a textiles machinery exhibition ones.
The open air ex. is composed by several wooden houses dating from the 19 century brought there. They are filled with textile deco/machines (they were filled before with paper/printing deco/machinery when the museum was a paper history one) and an old church.
The textiles exhibition is quite interesting... and there was absolutely nobody visiting it... so very relaxing.
The machinery ex. is marked as "interactive" but DO NOT even try to touch anything cause the Sargent-like-acting woman who will follow you in every single step you take inside will scream "don't touch" (in polish of course, no English there) even when it says "interactive exhibition"... maybe the interactive part refers to a video shown on a steam power generator, or couple of kids games in a screen.. but this part needs to improve a lot. The machines have just their names ans a brief explanation of what they do but in terms that you NEED to know the process in order to understand it.. if not... they have no meaning.

The sauna area comprises multiple saunas and an outdoor jacuzzi space for sunbathing. The park also features guest sauna masters who are entertaining. It is an excellent place to relax for at least three hours or more.

One of our kids’s favorite place to go to when in Poland, this is a crazy fun waterpark. Highlights include not just the wave making pool, as well as the crazy slides, but also too whirlpools inside and out, hot tub, splash park for the little kids and many more. It can get crowded during the summer, but avoid that worst rush and you will love it.

The sauna portion is really nice and we had a great time. Lots of saunas to choose from and despite a lot of people it was not overly crowded inside the saunas. Outside jacuzzis and area to sunbath also very cool. On Saturday there was a guest sauna master from Tychy who was amazing (aside from his bad taste in cartoon t-shirts). All in all a wonderful place to spend 3 hours or more and fully relax. We drove up from Warsaw and was well worth it.

I’ve used most of their waterslides and they’re awesome. They have many jacuzzis, saunas and even waves simulations. I would really recommend it in the summer time as there are loads of chairs to sit on and sunbathe outside. There’s also loads of attractions for kids. Unfortunately, during school holidays and weekends you can expect big queues to enter and to go on the slides.

Have been visiting the venue for years for different purposes - fun, swimming/training and sauna.
Apart from the "fun" part of the aquapark, there are only 2 (1 indoor and 1 outdoor) 25m swimmingpools, which cause them to be occasionally crowded.
Sauna is a seprate topic - this is best on in Lodz and this can be contemplated already in the waiting queue, which can be 30+ minutes in weekends' afternoons.
The Łódź Ghetto War Museum is a crucial attraction for visitors to learn about the tragic history of Jewish imprisonment during WWII. It is recommended to take a taxi as the museum cannot be reached on foot from the town centre, and costs around 30zl. The museum contains many remnants of the ghetto period, although some points of interest could be better marked both on maps and on-site.
Another quick visit in this town, amazing model of the Ghetto + actual model made in the camp. Again some shocking information.

The Museum of the City of Lodz is located in a former palace and showcases art and objects related to the history and culture of the city. Situated near the Manufaktura mall, this museum occupies the lavish estate once owned by textile baron Izrael Kalmanowicz Poznanski. The opulent apartments, adorned with intricate dark-wood wall panels and ornate stained-glass windows, indicate the immense wealth possessed by its previous owners.
