The Nerobergbahn is a historic water cable rack and pinion railway that has been operating since 1888, offering stunning hilltop views of Wiesbaden. It utilizes only water pressure to transport passengers up and down the hill, making it an impressive feat of engineering. The top provides breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding wineries, Opelbad, and the Russian Orthodox St Elizabeth church with its golden roof.
Unique way to the top. Amazing technology (fill the top car with people (inside) & water (underneath) & then let that extra weight pulley the lower car & people, up to the top. Release water from lowest car, as you fill the top one with water! Surprisingly simple & effective. Look for the water release (underneath the carriage) after cable car reaches the bottom.

These two mountain trains have been operating since 1888, even in the days of Kaiser Wilhelm and we always bring visiting friends here. The sophisticated technology amazed us. This place is highly recommended and there is a beautiful Russian Orthodox nearby, a restaurant, a landmark pavillion and a beautiful look out to Wiesbaden.

Lovely visit to the local area and use the Nerobergbahn funicular railway . An enjoyable visit where the staff are friendly and helpful. The journey is short to the top but extremely interesting with the water powered cog railway making an effortless trip to ascend the hill (and back down). At the top there are great views across Wiesbaden and beyond . There is a poignant 14-18 war memorial near to the viewpoint that should be visited too.
There are interesting short walks and a cafe to quench your requirements too.
All in all a great place to visit.

This is a Must place to visit when in Wiesbaden. It's not only using the famous train up and down the hill, only using the water pressure, if you are a engineer this will amaze you. The top is a beautiful view of Wiesbaden, you will see the winery's spread Outs. The Opelbad is there.. claiming activities or walking through the forest and around the area is the golden church the Russian Orthodox, St Elizabeth church. Roof are made out of gold. The story and history behind is beautiful.

Relatively long lines for a very short ride as it onl goes to a small hill. I would suggest skipping this if the lines are long. The cars are well maintained and it is very authentic and we'll preserved, so it's nice for cable car enthusiasts

Nice experience. Best panorama view of Wiesbaden. However I find the price for the tram is a bit pricey because the distance is short and can easily walk by yourself to the top.

Super cute way to travel up a hill, old school like.
Neroberg is a picturesque 245-meter hill located in Wiesbaden, featuring a seasonal funicular and an enchanting 19th-century church. The hills offer scenic views of the surroundings and are equipped with hiking trails, climbing courses, and playgrounds for children. Visitors can relish in the fresh atmosphere and enjoy a picnic amidst the lush forests or dine at one of the several restaurants available on-site.
Nice view point, this was my first place which I saw visiting Wiesbaden 👍

Neroberg is a hill very close to the city center. It has a temple, a restaurant where they serve locally produced wine, Nerbergbahn, plenty of place for kids to play -including Kletterwald, a small pond and a Russian Church. All are lovely and worth a visit. One can easily spend half a day here.

If you want to have a great view of Wiesbaden then go to the neroberg.
You can see over all of Wiesbaden.
There is an small tram that goes all the way up. Its fun to ride it, i would suggest to take the standing places at the back if you have the stomach for it. It takes you up in a steep climb.
On the Neroberg is a restaurant, a russian orthodox church, swimmingpool and a nice view.

Fresh and comfortable hills with beautiful views and comfortable place. You can enjoy your time with your family or children. There’s also playground that you can enjoy with your kids or your partner together in the little forest. There’s also some restaurants if you’re getting hungry or you can having small picnic and hiking in there. The interesting things is they have some place and statues with interesting history about it.

Very well accessible, by bike, hike or by road with a car, nice view and historical marks. As I have been told there is actually a long short wall somewhere nearby over the vineyards, where you can see the whole city, as the forrest and trees actually blocks the view from the Neroberg.
Vedran Drmic — Google review
Definitely recommend 👍 this place one of the top attractions and hanging out places within the burden of the scenic beauty from the top is also amazing also the George and small architectural joints through your way on mesmerizing.
Also the connectivity to neroberg is super easy From Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof 🚉 using bus 🚌 1 and get off at the last or second last stop. The walk to the top of the hill is steep but not too difficult. You can also take the train to hilltop if traveling doing summers because the drain does not operate from November till March.
You can also plan you will be there at that sunset or sunrise for some amazing pictures of the view.
Carry some food, drinks 🍷 for a small picnic. There’s also a Café and restaurant at the top of the hill however it was closed when we went.

Nice place to spend weekend with family. Toy train and the dirt trail back is really nice. Train operates from March to October only. On top of the hill, you can enjoy the food at the restaurant or a swim at opel bad. Visit the Russian church. One can take the train, or car or walk all the way. People come here for pre wedding shoot as well. There is kletterwlad for young ones.

Kurhaus Wiesbaden GmbH is a function room facility with grand ballrooms that are typically used for conventions and traditional performing arts events. While the venue has a rich history, it is primarily known for its exhibitions and large casino - one of the largest in Germany. Access to the casino requires dressing well, but even if you're just passing through, it's handy to know that their restrooms are available.
I went there for a classical concert during the "Rheingau Musik Festival"
Very beautiful architecture! Sound architecture is excelent too.
Very friendly, empathic and organized staff.
Best concert location all around!

There is a lot going on here over the year. Last night (mid Nov 23) we attended the Rock the Opera event - a great 2 hour hybrid of rock songs and a classical orchestra.
The seating is comfortable, the layout good and the acoustics to standard. There are plenty of toilets, cloak rooms, and there will be several 'pop-up' bars with the usual beverages of offer.
There is plenty of nice art work to look at (including some excellent stained glass windows too).
Parking is nearby but expensive (use public transport).

Whatever the old purposes maybe. The reason why it's famous now is because of exhibitions and the Casino. The Casino there is definitely one of the biggest in Germany and make sure you are dressed well if you intend to pass inside.
☺️ Absolute Empfehlung!

(Visit on November 10, 2023 at “Rock the Opera” in the Friedrich-von-Thiersch-Saal)
As a local, I am of course very happy when visitors express such enthusiasm about the beautiful, time-honored spa house!😊
I therefore refer directly to this evening's event:
Both the rock band and the orchestra were excellent and in great spirit!
Particularly brilliant were the expressive singer with his considerable vocal range and the guitarist, whose technical expertise and performance stood out❗️
The only drawback of the evening was the sound quality (based on my seat at the front right of the stalls!):
1. The comprehensibility of the text left a lot to be desired and what...
2. ...when it comes to sound mixing, I would have liked more presence from the two singers.
But I think, as is always the case with sound in large halls, compromises have to be made in this regard, especially with rock music and especially when it also has to be mixed with an orchestra.
Overall, the volume was definitely “fat” appropriate for the occasion!🤘🏻😎
My respect and a big thank you to everyone involved in this way for this great evening!
The Zoo and garden Fasanerie is a former royal hunting ground that features indigenous flora, a petting zoo, and a pheasantry. It is an incredible park where visitors can feed the animals for just 2 euros while enjoying free entry. The park offers a forest-like walk with various animal species along the way, which makes it ideal for children as well. Besides, there are plenty of benches to relax on and a children's playground to keep them entertained.
A really nice place for all who like animals and nature, to relax and have a good time. Parking places on weekends sometimes are really crowded, but with a lot of patience it's manageable to find one. And for kids there's a playground, which is really excellent. Also near the entrance is a restaurant, which we still didn't have time to visit.

This place shouldn't be mistaken for a full fledged zoo. This is more of Nature Hike for parents/Kinderspielplatz & a easy/cheap(entry free) place to kill time every once in a while. Petting and feeding sheep is allowed. In addition to sheep, you will find bunnies, roosters, deers, birds and some ferrel creatures. Don't go looking for a bear or fox, they are never to be seen. Finding parking is a bit of a problem but that is valid anywhere you go in Germany.

Kurpark is an English-style park that was established in 1852. It boasts a beautiful landscape with a fountain and a lake where visitors can enjoy paddle boating. The park offers plenty of parking spaces around its perimeter, with multiple entrances for convenience. There are numerous open fields, statues to admire, and trails to explore. Visitors can relax on benches or engage in activities such as picnicking, playing ball games or badminton, exercising or even playing music.

The Germans know how to make a kurpark! We loved visiting the local city parks when we have traveled in western Europe and this one was no exception. We got up early due to jet lag and were walking before the city came alive for the day. Our hotel was right near the park so we walked the bowling green with the pretty statues and fountains. I’m a garden gal and the plants and layout was just lovely! There was a wide and level walking and biking trail that is ADA accessible. Most of the other people up that time were locals getting their exercise by jogging, biking or walking the dog. It was a very safe place—no vagrants, hardly any trash or tagging. No bathrooms open though. Many of the trails were along the houses which were extremely beautiful and well-kept which added to the ambiance of the park.

St Elizabeth's Church is a stunning example of Russian Orthodox architecture, constructed in 1855 as a mausoleum for a member of the royal family. The church boasts golden domes that have even been featured on postage stamps. Though it sits atop Neroberg hill and offers great views of Wiesbaden, entry may not be worth the cost, as there is often a crowd outside enjoying the lovely surroundings.

my friends and i skipped school to come here, it was totally worth it. i'm more of a "health and medical museum" type of guy but this was sick. from what i remember, we paid little to no entry since we're under the age of eighteen.
i think it's a good incentive to get teenagers to visit, most of us don't care for museums but once we're there a lot of us end up liking them. i'm probably taking my mom here in spring.
since we visited on a weekday in the morning, we didn't have a long wait and essentially had the museum to ourselves, it was awesome. also there's this cool taxidermied ice bear and art nouveau (which i'm not into but can appreciate) that i recommend looking at.

Please put FSK information DIRECTLY in the program. It is not sufficient if you hide it in the "Theaterpedagogische Materialmappe". We went to watch the Midsommernight's Dream from Shakespeare with kids, as there was no FSK relevant info displayed on any of the steps while buying tickets online.
Have seen this play somewhere else, was performed also without explicit actions. To be honest, the performance was great for adults, but really not suitable for kids under 12. Even in theater no one of the staff told us what to expect although we communicated with several of them. If we knew the details of staging we could have decided against watching or could have prepped kids accordingly.
At least, the humour was not lost, Puck and Oberon were great!
In future we will check "Theaterpedagogische Materialmappe" -now that we are aware of its existence, and inform ourselves about the director.
All the best to the ensemble.

The Evangelical Market church in Wiesbaden is a neo-Gothic brick structure with an imposing multiple-spire design. Its landmark main spire boasts a 49-bell carillon, making it a notable architectural beauty that can be admired from afar. Located at the Marktplatz, this massive church overlooks a lively farmers market where visitors can enjoy fresh snacks before touring the gothic interior.
Incredible church in the city center of wiesbaden. The detail and grounds surrounding the church are so manicured and the inside is also stunning. The stained glass is vibrant and the interior truly is breathtaking. Great place to stop and take in the outdoor gardens and the indoor sculptures and beauty.

Lovely church with beautiful architecture at city center Wiesbaden. One can also visit the farmers market near the church to buy fresh produce.

The Evangelical Market church is a Protestant church located in the heart of Wiesbaden, Germany. It is one of the most important Baroque churches in the city and is a popular tourist destination.
The church was built in the early 18th century, and though it was damaged during World War II, it was later restored.
The church's organ is one of the largest in Wiesbaden.
The church is located in the Market Square, which is a popular shopping and dining area.

The best part about this Church’s is that it is so beautiful majestical and an architectural beauty from near, far and very far off. The beauty of the church is noticeable even from the top of the hill or from the streets you do not need to see a Google review or find out the best churches to visit this one I am hundred percent sure that one’s looking at the Church ⛪️ the beautiful automatically attract you to go pay a visit.

Wiesbaden, Capital of Hessen Land in Germany. An amazing city, with a rich culture, full of history, a beautiful architecture and one of the biggest and most beautiful cathedral not only in Germany but also in Europe. I spend the whole day there, visiting and doing some professional pic with my canon camera. It was amazing. I will be back there soon ❤

Astonishing church, really worth visiting. I was lucky enough to get a sunny day in October.

Spielbank Wiesbaden is an 18th-century building that has been turned into a gambling complex. The casino features a variety of slot machines and table games, as well as an upscale restaurant. It is surrounded by beautiful parks and other buildings. Although the actual casino occupies only a small part of the building, it can get busy at times, which may result in waiting for tables. Nonetheless, overall it provides a pleasant experience due to its welcoming staff and nice ambiance.
The casino stands on a picturesque landscape and is worth watching. It has many historical importance. The grand entrance portico is inscribed ' Aquis Mattiacis' which means the waters of the Mattiaci tribe. The place is known to have thermal spring baths since ancient times and was once a major spa destination. The word Kurhaus refers to thermal cure.
Napoleon was known to be a visitor here. This is the place where Dostoyevsky lost his life savings on a single spin, which led him to write ' The Gambler'.
The casino will be crowded after 6 in the evening. Unlike other casinos, we could see more ladies, youngsters and old trying their luck.

Very classy and posh casino in the heart of Wiesbaden. Wear a nice outfit, and feel like you're a James Bond movie. The building is also lovely and historic.
Alix Paultre — Google review
Very nice place. The actual casino is only a small part of the building so when busy you'll have a wait for a table. Nice experience
Zach Pickard — Google review
It's probably the most beautiful casino I've been to. There is a dress code, but it's a very casual dress code. Essentially, there are no gym clothes or ripped jeans. I've seen a few reviews complain about the tipping. It wasn't that bad at all. Only if you win a massive stack of chips would they ask for 1 chip as a tip. If I had to say something bad about it, i would just say it was too popular. They could benefit from more tables. Besides that, it was a great experience.
Gary McRorie — Google review
a very impressive and atmospheric old and historical building which has been visited by many celebrities. 160 years ago, in 1863, in this hall, Dostoevsky lost his fees at roulette and he came up with the idea of writing the novel "The Gambler"

Impressive, old school 🏫 casino located in the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden .
It was closed when I was there but the dress code they impose on gamblers ,alone spoke volumes.
James Bond comes to mind.....shaken, not stirred.😋
I'm sure the interior of the casino, matches the Kurhaus lobby
No cheesy, chintzy Las Vegas here, me thinks.

Overall a nice visit 👍. Most important before the casino: always wear shirt, non rugged jeans or trousers and shoes; hoodie jackets are not allowed inside so better carry another jacket or blazer to stay warm; the entrance fees is €2.5. Please find the detailed summary below:
Dealers- I played on a lot of tables, and found for most of the dealers to be professional, patient. I am a non german speaker and they were accommodating me separately by speaking English.
Fairness - I did not find any issue with the fairness with which the games were conducted I’m really satisfied. the only place I was a bit of dis-comfortable was, at the card tables because everyone was speaking in German except me and I was not able to get along with the vibe of the table but otherwise it was OK.
Support staff - waiter at the bar was rude with me; he did not attend me as was busy with some “vip guests” at the bar.
Issue: I felt that at most on the tables the minimum denomination was either 10 or €20 which I was not comfortable with that at the beginning. And I think the minimum denomination criteria should be used or lifted from at least a couple of tables including both, roulette and blackjack.
Anish Saxena (Anish) — Google review
Watch out! If you want to play poker here, the casino penalizes you badly if you don’t have the app to register.
I came 10 min before the door opens and was the first one to register and waited 3 hours for the poker to start, until I found out that the casino has made a new rule to open registration earlier for the app users.
3 hours after commencing, I still had 23 waiting in front of me although I was the first one to register on sight. Obviously the person at the reception didn’t bother to notify me of the system, which I simply think he had something against Asians playing (they limit number of Japanese on each table for some reason, discriminatory, I suppose…)
Tai Uemura — Google review
Extremely nice interior and games. Only poker, roulette and 4 blackjack tables. Got cussed at for not playing 2 hands at once and staff said nothing.
Eric Ackles — Google review
The park and the buildings surrounding are spectacular, I found the staff to be very nice and I was NOT asked for a single euro. I only played in the slot section but it was very nice.

Kochbrunnen is a charming public square in Wiesbaden that features an open-air fountain. The fountain is fed by an underground hot spring that boasts healing mineral water. It's fascinating to imagine what it must have been like for early explorers to encounter these natural hot springs. This locals' favorite hangout also has potable thermal mineral water available in the gazebo, so visitors can bring their cups to taste the water.
Amazing seeing the naturally heated water rising from below the surface of the earth.

The place is a family friendly place and is highly recommended for tourists. There are other nice touristy areas in the surrounding, like the Evangelical marker church and the Kurhaus. It is also near a very old but beautiful hotel.

It was amazing these "kochbrunnen" : it are natural springs in Wiesbaden (Germany), the capital of the state of Hessen.
The water has a temperature of 66 degrees Celsius.
In Wiesbaden you also perceive the smell of sulfur by the springs.
Jeannet van Brussel — Google review
The Kochbrunnen in Wiesbaden is unique. It is a hot spring quelled from underneath that is now a fountain ⛲️. The locals, they believe, if you drink a cup from it, once a day, it is healthy. Wiesbaden has many hot natural spring baths that you can visit and swim. Where the kochbrunne is a very nice little fountain where many locals and outside visitors go and still have a cup from the hot spring. Please do not take a bottle and fill it with the hot spring water is not worth it. The smell of the hot spring is not so very attractive to the 👃. Be careful it is hot spring water so it's hot.
Annie Varga — Google review
This fountain looks and smells odd due to the mineral content in the water, but that’s part of the celebration! At this plaza is an interesting children’s playground with beautiful murals of wildlife. This is a very active plaza but we got there early in the morning (don’t you love jetlag).

What a pleasure to find this little gem while spending a Sunday afternoon exploring the city. This natural hot spring boasts healing mineral water, and the temperature must have been between 60 - 70C (140 - 160F). It is also very cool to simply ponder what these hot springs must have been like to encounter by cold explorers in prior millennia. Just fascinating.

Can totally feel the warmth of the water when the wind is strong. Fun walk up to the park and seeing the fountain and just sitting at the park and people watch.

I found this to be one of the most underrated tourist attractions of the city of Wiesbaden - needless to say a must visit.
A must visit on a cold winter evening or during the day, putting your feet inside the hot water springs the best part is that since it is a natural spring, it is said to have medicinal properties and provide natural soothing effect.
Although there are no warning signs of the hot water however it is difficult to miss the hotness by the glowing visible steam. It does not have a very huge in the areas however it is said to have almost over 100 l of disposition of water every minute, which is further used for industrial purposes.
Altstadt is located in the center of Wiesbaden and exudes an old-world charm with its pedestrian streets and boulevards. The area is known for its picturesque squares, where impressive monumental buildings and palaces are clustered together, creating a quaint and historic atmosphere.
St. Bonifatius Church in Wiesbaden is a visually stunning Gothic-style masterpiece with an impressive exterior that transports you to another era. The detailed facade and majestic towers are truly breathtaking, although the interior may not match the grandeur of the outside. Despite this, it still offers a beautiful and quiet atmosphere for self-reflection and prayer. Visitors can admire the beautiful sculptures inside and experience a sense of wonder at the craftsmanship of these magnificent places of worship.

St. Boniface Church is a visual masterpiece on the outside, with its impressive architecture transporting you to a bygone era. The detailed facade and majestic towers are truly breathtaking.
Unfortunately, the interior can't quite compete with the splendor of the exterior. While understated, it may lack the grandeur and sophistication you'd expect.

From the first phone call with Ms. Eidner through the setup phase to the last minute of dismantling, we always felt welcome and valued. Our team was on site for 3 days to make the magic of the “most beautiful day in your life” happen. And the entire team at Casino Gesellschaft supported us in every situation and even gave us helping hands, lovingly provided us with drinks and immediately had an answer or solution ready for every question. We would particularly like to highlight the facility department, which works very professionally in-house, is motivated and always has a smile for all external service providers.
We would like to thank the entire KaLa event design team for this great and successful collaboration. It was our pleasure.
We wish you all the best and are already looking forward to joint projects in the coming years. Stay healthy!
