This wide, long beach is perfect for relaxing walks and sunbathing. It's one of the longest in Torrevieja and is comfortable for those who want to spend hours at the beach.
Very clean, lovely beach. Not over crowded... Great afternoon

Pros:
Good beach - long and wide.
Clean, sandy.
There is a nice park neighbouring the beach.
A lot of cafe and restaurants close to the beach.
Cons:
No showers at all ((
Not enough toilets and dressing rooms.
Comparably crowded even in the end of May! I can't imagine what will be in the high season (July).

Beautiful place to be! Even if the weather at the beggining of the fall is very dry, is comforting to see that we, the humans, are able to preserve something so beautiful by its loneliness and solitude

Our beloved place in Costa Blanca so far! Long stretches of white sand. Dunes with pibe trees to stroll. We definitely loved it.
Andrzej Król — Google review
Visited this beach twice on our last holiday. Nice and flat area plenty of beds to hire. The guy who rented out the beds was so nice, having noticed I had walking issues he found someone who could translate for him to inform me that if I wanted to go into the sea he could arrange for the lifeguards to take me in. Thought that was so sweet of him.

Parc Natural de Las Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja
The Parc Natural de Las Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja is a protected area with saline lagoons that are famous for their pink-colored water and various flora and fauna. Grapetrees in the park are pruned to about 20 inches from the ground every year, but they grow back to become small shrubs bearing grape bunches by September or October when harvested.
Exceptional place, to discover without hesitation, the water is hot, be careful the salt level is more than 35%, a great discovery in Spain, quite large, better touristy but pleasant for all, possibilities to have a picnic alone or accompanied, small important point to respect nature.
I wish you a nice walk and discovery…

Nice area out in the nature! Walking paths and outlooks around the Salinas near Torrevieja, well suited for a relaxing day out with your family or your better half (if she/he is in for such activity).
Hines Millbrook — Google review
This is actually the information centres for the park. It describes the wild life and general information about the park. There's is a welk which takes in a hide to view birds on the lake, and a recreation area with tables and a viewing platform over the lake. There is also a bridge over a channel with lots of fish to be seen. A botanical garden with lots of herbs and butterflies. I think there were frogs in a small pool, I heard they're plops as they hid but did not see them. Very pleasant to spend 2 or 3 hours there.
Denis Parker — Google review
As lovely as ever. All the grapetrees are hacked back to about 20 inches off the floor. They look like small blackened stumps and it amazes me each year when I see them develop into small but grape bearing shrubs weighed down with the grapes. I love this walk which only takes about half an hour. In May you see these blackened stumps have grown leaves, in July you can see the bunches of grapes
growing, in Sept. Oct. The grapes are harvested.. Then the shrubs are cut back
and tended ready for the next year. Apart from this you have wonderful views of the lake, all the flamingos when they are resident and healthy country air to breath.
That is why I walk this way often with my dog.
Sandy Espinosa — Google review
Favourite place to walk the dog! Usually in the evening whilst the sun is going down. Many people using the lake for photo opportunities. Main dislike is dogowners not picking up..disgraceful. Also earlier in the year there were baby flamingos- all seemed to have died. Many carcases can be seen which is is worrying.

You can walk as much as you like/can good paths . For best views from the car park information center in front of you go left there's a viewing platform, take the path towards the lake at the crossroads head left around the lake for a more scenic route . Michael

Very interesting place I really wanted to visit. I didn't like ppl getting into the water as it said one should not do that... still, we had a lovely walk along the shore.
Mattia P — Google review
There were lots of birds, cockerels, peacocks, parrots, geese, ducks. All sorts to see and feed. Unfortunately, we must've come at a bad time as we were badly bitten by mosquitoes and saw a LOT of mosquito larvae in the water, so I guess it'll only get worse. I thought the playground would have a bit more of a mixture of age ranges, but it is mostly for younger children. My 9 and 10yo went on the dragon slide and tge swing, but that was all really suitable. All in all, visually lovely but not quite what I thought I remembered from quite a few years ago.

Do not waste time for this place after rain. You can see pink water and crystals during hot and dry weather.
And just in case it is not a romantic place. This is industrial facility

Nice park, but the image with the pink lake in the comments was a little misleading, at least it was not pink when we were there…
Whoever is interested in seeing a pink lake should have a look at the Laguna Salada de Torrevieja (right next to this lake)

Dead easy to get to. Brilliant for walking, nice, quiet and very clean. I went looking for birds and wildlife (photgraphy). Green Woodpeckers all over, Sardinian Warblers, Hoopoe, Parakeets, Grey Shrikes and lots more. Well worth a visit and can't wait to go back.

Quite peaceful park with paths and playground for the kids. Plenty of trees to shade from the Spanish sun during the day.Excellent for family's to spent a few hours relaxing while the children use up all that extra energy running around in a safe child friendly area. We enjoyed a wonderful stay in an apartment overlooking the park with views of the salt lakes and city from the balcony. This has become on of my favourite places to stay in Spain everything is in walking distance from the shops to the prom and beach.

Aquapark Flamingo, Flamingo Waterpark, La Siesta Waterpark, AquaparkTorrevieja
Aquapark Flamingo is a seasonal water park that features a wide variety of slides, rides and swimming pools. It is perfect for taking small children to have a great day out. The food and beverages are good here, making it the ideal place to visit with friends or family.
Had a fun day out with my nine year old son. There are loads of chairs and several pools and slides there was a pool for the younger kids with smaller slides 2 more pools that were deeper with 3 more slides for the older kids 2 snack bars. as well the staff were attentive and nice we stayed for 4 hours
Janet Verrells — Google review
Great little water park. Food and drink reasonably priced. Would be nice with a few more things there for little ones but ours were happy enough.
Has splash pool with little slide is, next to that a deeper swimming pool but small, good again for smaller ones and the. A bigger standard pool at the back.
We went in June and so no queue and not busy.
There was also some parking and a bus stop outside.
A lot of construction work going on around it but our kids live a good digger and it is all for a great new complex next door.
Cash only for food and drink. Can pay card for tickets

A great place to bring small kids, just the perfect size for them. If it was just for adults it wouldn't be amazing. But overall my 3 year old loved it.
Alan Crawley — Google review
I took my Grandson for the day here and was very pleasantly surprised. The park had a little but for everyone, an adult pool, infants pool and teenage areas that ticked a box for all. One thing that struck me is that it was completely spotless everywhere. Very well kept and the staff were all fantastic, personable and professional.
The park is very reasonably priced in terms of entry, drinks and food so we will now be going more regularly.
Thank you for a great day out!!!

Had a fabulous day at this lovely family orientated park. Beautifully maintained with excellent friendly staff who I can't speak highly enough of. Would recommend this park to anyone with small children. Even the food and drink was reasonably priced.
Kevin Hopkins — Google review
Clean, friendly staff, strictly followed rules, kids are always in eye sight. Minimum height for the 3 main slides is 120cm and this rule is strictly followed, to the point my daughter got a wrist band to show she is tall enough yet they still checked. Get there 20 minutes before opening if you want a good location. Came twice in the holiday. Cost 2 adults 2 children €52. Food and drink available here.
Matthew Lawson — Google review
Great for primary aged kids, our two loved it. Note before you go it's cash only though as it could leave you disappointed / unable to enter. Cafe food is as expected for lunch, but not too expensive so can't complain. This is only a small park, but ideal for young families and they close it once it gets full so no overcrowding either / everyone can find and make a base on loungers or chairs and table, as we did, too which is great!
Lian Nuttall — Google review
Ideal for younger kids (we went with a 4, 7 & 8 year old).
The bigger two could go on the big slides, the littler one had to make do with the smaller ones. All loved it though and happily spent nearly 6 hours in the pool.
Staff are super friendly, and it's a relaxed place to be. We went on a Monday and it wasn't busy at all - plenty of sun loungers available as well as tables and chairs under the shade.
No gluten free food options we could see other than chips but you can just take your own food in with you which we did.
Our 3rd time visiting here and will happily keep coming until our kids need something bigger.

Lovely park and super organised and amazing clean, very safety conscious team and a nice place for 3-4 hours of family fun
Kevin Homeyard — Google review
Very good place for families with kids up to 10 yrs old. Just few water attractions, however it is enough to spend entire day and have fun. Good prices for food inside the park (cash is needed as you can only pay by card the entrance fee). No big queues to attractions, free sun beds (in other parks in this area you need to pay for them extra).
Emil Mazur — Google review
A great few hours out for the whole family. Food was good and reasonable priced. Very clean park and lifeguards were helpful. Even though only a few slides still a very good way to spend an afternoon. One thing to remember is it's cash only once inside the park
The submarine museum in Torrevieja has two historic submarines on display. One is a French submarine built in 1973, and the other is a Spanish sub that became the Navys first museum vessel in 2003. The submarines are both open to the public for a modest charge of 2 euros each.
Great little museum. For only 2 euros, you get an audio tour of a submarine and a patrol boat. The submarine is fascinating. There are also a variety of smaller boats and naval artefacts to explore. A great way to spend an hour!
Andy MacLeod — Google review
Disappointed that we walked a long way only find that it wasn't open. This was at around 1.20pm on a Saturday, 40 minutes before it should have closed.
Got there and the gates were locked and absolutely no one around. We weren't the only ones left disappointed, as there was a couple that gotten there just before we did, and they also had to walk away.
Probably a really cool place if it's open, but as other reviewers have said, do not rely on it being so. If you're in the area and are there at the right time then I'd recommend giving it a go, but I would not travel too far for it as you will only be taking a gamble as to whether it will actually be open or not.
It just seems to open and shut as and when when it feels like it, just like everything else in Torrevieja.
Gerald Riley — Google review
An interesting and unusual museum. Friendly staff and fascinating exhibitions. Never been on a submarine before so this was a great opportunity to see what it's like. A great value hour or so for just €2. Thank you.
Jacqueline Stainton — Google review
It was hard to find (don't enter the marina or you'll be on the wrong side of the fence) and there was no explanation at all. I think there's supposed to be an audio guide but we weren't offered these and the staff didn't speak much English. Luckily the fee is only €2 but you can only pay cash.
Lode De Herdt — Google review
For €2 it’s a fantastic wee visit, if you are Claustrophobic or unsteady on your feet, then it not for you. The audio system was not offered to us, and I never asked why! Maybe covid.
Liam Thompson — Google review
Very interesting experience for someone living on the ground all the time. Worth visiting. Access is straight, tickets (€2 per person) you buy at the entrance, go for a small ship first and then continue to the submarine itself.
Denis Rasulev — Google review
Third time lucky...
We have lived in Torrevieja for just under 3 months now and have tried to visit the submarine museum three times, the first two unsuccessful with, as others have said, it being closed for no apparent reason. The times we tried were all weeks apart, so it's not like they were just having a bad week.
We finally managed to get in today on a Thursday at around 12:30pm. I gave it three stars because if you actually manage to get in, it's good value for money at just €2 each.
You're pretty much forced to go on the boat first, then you go on the submarine. The boat is interesting too and you have time to make the most of it.
When we were leaving, at around 13:08, some other people tried to get in but staff turned them away because they were ready to shut the place. Not fair really when the sign says it shuts at 2pm and the people getting turned away looked quite disappointed. I think it should make it clear that 2pm means closed, not "last entry".
If you want to go I would recommend turning up as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
To get there, turn down the sand/mud track as soon as you see the sign. It will feel like you aren't going the right way and as though you should go into the Dock, but like other people have said do not go that far. If you go through the gates, you've gone wrong.
Good luck to anyone hoping to visit... Hopefully it will be open for you.
Luke West — Google review
Decent museum to see a submarine and a relatively modern ship from inside. The value for money is very good - the ticket price is only 2 eur. For those planning to come with children, your child needs to be at least 110cm high to be allowed to enter.

For €2 each it's very interesting something never done 15 years coming spain . Would been nice if little cafe there

Aquopolis Torrevella is a water park that welcomes visitors from June to August. It boasts a variety of attractions, including slides and pools suitable for all ages. Additionally, guests can enjoy picnic areas and relaxation zones.
We had a fantastic time at this water park, would definitely recommend a visit. Entry was a bit pricey so try and get a voucher code if you can. There is plenty of parking on site but it will cost you 5 euros.
The park was just the right size to enable a family to get around and actually have a few goes on all the slides. There is a great toddlers adventure pool so the little ones will have a great time. There is plenty of green space about to set up your blankets or sunbeds etc and there are lockers available in the gift shop.
We had lunch at the burger bar/restaurant and to be fair it was good.
The staff, lifeguards etc are all really friendly and keen for you to have a good time. We'd be coming back here again 100%
James Marchant — Google review
The slides are good, but we went on a Friday. Very busy, waited 45 mins for the big zigzag!
Waiting times for others were around 15-25mins each. Floor gets very hot and life guards over policed which took anyway some of the fun. But if you have kids that like to go off and do they own thing while you chill out on the sun loungers you know they will be safe.
Also felt like a cash cow, parking €5, locker €5, sunbeds €3, food not cheap and they want to sell you photos…..
Tips:- take your own food, have lunch early and use slides at lunchtime.
Take slide-on foot wear that you can wear up to the rides and then slip them onto your wrists and slide down with them (it’s what the locals do)
xr2trev — Google review
It's pretty average and dated unfortunately with some rides inefficiently managed and causing long lines eg zigzag. For what it is it's overpriced. Hopefully they'll update it soon.
Jason Dodd — Google review
Went on a Sunday which was a mistake as it was very busy. A weekday would have been better probably.
Queues were about 30-45 mins per slide. Speedy passes were 15Eur for 6 uses, or 37Eur for all day. Quite pricey.
You get the impression management make the queues slow to encourage speedy pass purchase.
5Eur parking. 5Eur for standard bed. Four poster day beds 25Eur. Various VIP packages.
I suppose they are trying to make up for a couple of years lost business.
Nonetheless, kids enjoyed it. That was enough.

Fantastic water park. Perfect for families of any age. Would highly recommend. Lots of choice of rides and activities and the staff were on it. A little too efficient maybe only allowing one round of the lazy river before having to queue again. But a fantastic place with decent food and okay process for a full-day attraction. Will definitely go again

On Friday the 13th of August we went to Aquapolis for a day. It opens at 12 o’clock which is pretty late. Everybody is coming at the same time, so you have to wait for a very long time in the car park in the burning sun. No guidance what so ever. The queues for the slides are very long and it all went very slow. The lifeguards are not the most friendly people and they constantly whistle for everything. Nothing is allowed. Some of the pools are dirty as well (hair etc.) It is called an aquapark, but you spend more time outside the water due to the waiting times. You pay a lot of money to get in and it suppose to be a nice day out for everyone. Unfortunately It felt like a labour camp. Never ever again!
Dennis — Google review
Went to Aquapolis in Torrevieja. Booked online tickets on phone 21 euros each so you don’t need to print them off just make sure you can see barcode. We went early due to the reviews. Got in the car park at 10.45 you pay on entry 5 euros. There was a queue already. By the time they opened the doors at 11.30am the queue was right round the car park so glad we went early. Sun beds 5 Euro each so starts to add up. It cost 125 for 6 adults entry and 30 for sunbeds and we took our own drinks and food. We considered all inclusive but that would have been around 468 euros. Would not recommend this unless you are living on the rides all day due to massive queues as it gives you fast track. We did rides in first half hour before queues got bad. Then spent most time at wave pool if you can call it that. Lazy river don’t bother. Park was clean good facilities toilets and showers. To wear sunglasses at pool you need sunglasses cord to secure them otherwise lifeguards blow their whistle constantly to get them off. Car park was easy to leave about 5pm no traffic issues. We had a chilled day but would have been expensive with fast track which makes this park too expensive for what it offers as quite small. They need to lower fast track cost for me to say it is a 4 star.

After reading lots of reviews about aquopolis I nearly didn't book it. However, I thought about it and most reviews are written from bad experience and rarely good experience. So I wanted to give it the benefit of doubt and go anyway.
I bought my tickets online as id read in the reviws that was the best thing to do so you can get straight in. We got to the water park at 11am to join the queue early. Mainly so we had a better chance of choosing a good base for us to spend the day. Once we got in we decided to go for a bahli bed as it ofered good cover from the sun. This cost €50 for the day. And it was right by the kids pool so we could look over our son whilst he was in the kids pool.
for a family of 3 it cost (2 adults 1 child) €31.95 x2 and €25.95 x1.
I also bought the speedy passes which at €38 each was alot of extra money and not exactly a bargain but it definitely made the quiuing experience alot better for me and my son. You get to jump straight to to front of the queue for when you are collecting the ring or mat for the boomerang/blackhole/rapid and hydroracer. This alone saves you about a 20/30min wait. Once you get your ring or mat you unfortunately do not queue jump the queue for the slide. But, your turn does come round quick enough.
We did however queue jump the mini zig zag which requires no float. You can whiz down it and run straight back up to go again jumping the queue which was great because my son loved that slide. There is 3 of these and we found the slide closest to queue lane the fastest!
The life guards are very much alert when it comes to safety and height restrictions. Which is good but annoying at the same time. My son is about 118cm and we queued all the way up to the top to go on boomerang. When it was our turn to go down the slide the lifeguard asked for my son to stand against the size chart and he was 2cm too short for the ride.... he was gutted that he wasn't allowed to go on. But, rules are rules and they are there for a reason so make sure you double check your kids height before choosing to queue! His height allowed him to go on the =
Hydroracer, blackhole, rapids, mini zig zag.
The food is typical fast food you would expect at a place like this. Bit pricey low quality. We took our own drinks in a cool bag. Beers, soft drinks and water. That helped keep the cost down.
All in all I think the day cost about 300 euros. It was my birthday so I wanted to do it the best way for maximum enjoyment. I had fun and so did my son. Would I go again? Yes but not in a hurry. I did speak to other families who had been before and they said that normally the waterpark is way more busier than it was. This was a Sunday. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

My daughter had the most amazing time at this water park and loved every minute! The best thing about it was most of the water slides had rings you sit in to go down so you didn’t injure your back. The staff were amazing and very helpful. Well worth a visit.
Fi Anderson — Google review
Decent Waterpark with good selection of rides but after the first hour once the park filled up the queues were long (approx 1hr for the Black Hole). The queue discipline was poor at the entrance with lots of people pushing in from the sides. Queueing lanes (like they have for the rides) would have reduced this pushing in. Worth getting tickets in advance (we got a 25% discount voucher with a leaflet at the tourist office) and arriving 30-45 mins before the official opening time to join the queue. Cheap deal available if you want to return within a week.

Anyway, food huts ok bit of a wait, chips not great but can get pizza, chips, drink €9.99. We brought small picnic, sunbeds about €3.50 otherwise very clean lovely surroundings...and the Lifeguards love their whistles 😁
Maliblue Roo — Google review
Super expensive if you don't order the tickets weeks in advance. The real price is OVER 30€. The online prices are just tourists traps. Yes we enjoyed our time but it wasn't super special and we had luck of being in a not super crowded day.
No families discount or whatsoever... Food inside is super basic and expensive, there is a bunch of VIP (aka pay for some shade) and lots of annoying workers asking you take pictures from you. The only thing I liked and I'm not complaining about is the girl animating the Zumba music and dancing in the water (5 stars for her alone).
I STRONGLY advise you to bring your own food AND water (tap water there has a super nasty taste).
And the last and worst thing, after asking them in the front desk if there were discounts, they told us a plain "no", only group discounts for 20+ groups ordering the tickets in advance, BUT next day, we find the discount from the pictures in the tourist info center...
Heerlijk strand. Nu wel te koud om te zwemmen, maar heerlijk om even uit te waaien! Er lagen we ronde balletjes op het strand, ervaring leert dat als je in zee zwemt je af en toe steekjes krijgt.

Just the same as always. It's not a bad market but was better when it was a street market.
Habaneras Shopping Centre is a well-designed and easily navigable mall that provides a comfortable shopping experience. The center boasts an impressive array of stores, particularly for handbags, watches, and shoes. Additionally, there are various coffee shops and outlets selling home goods and toys. One unique feature is the open roof which allows for plenty of fresh air circulation while also permitting smoking outside shops due to its open space design. The Carrefour nearby offers added convenience along with ample parking facilities.
Good place to go and do shopping or have a drink or lunch. It's closer to Torrevieja than La Zenia.
On Sundays everything is closed so only go here on Sunday if you want to have a coffee at one of the bars and meet with friends.
Lots of room to park outside the shopping center. The only downside is that if it's windy or rainy you won't be able to enjoy walking around, shopping or having a drink as the shopping centre is not enclosed.
Other than that good place to come once or twice per week.
Adrian - Sunny Spain Property Brokers — Google review
Good shopping Center, with open roof, so there is a lot of fresh air passing through, and even more, you can smoke outside shops everywhere, as it is an open space. Shops are OK, based on choice and prices. Shops with clothes, shoes, home staff and toys. Some places to drink coffee are also here. Car park is big enough. Overall impressions are perfect.

Great little mid range shopping mall
Good scope and range of shops and the food court upstairs will meet most people's needs.
Kids play area also and often kids activitiy events going on.
Plenty of free parking underneath the mall along with a car valet service available also.
The Toilets and facilities were clean and functional.
A good stop for a bit of retail therapy and a bite to eat..
Close to other main shops also so a very good place to visit.
Most languages are catered for.
Recommended... Yes.
Parking plenty but can get busy at times as it's just a good place to be .

We are now big shoppers. But it's an easy place to find and park. It wasn't too busy when we went, which was a bonus. There are plenty of shops and places to stop and get some coffee (although it's open air, so cold in the winter months). I'm sure we'll be back again when the clothes are worn to rags😁
Andy Smith — Google review
Shops are fine, but the facilities :(
The elevator is not working constantly, we are here for 2 months and this is third time I visit the Shopping centre, two times elevator was not working! I wouldn’t complaint before, but now I have a baby and I go everywhere with a stroller, so here this is not possible to visit all shops, because upstairs you can go only by stairs or escalator with stairs. So 1 point to the facilities due to this bad experience!

We go for Zara,Bershka and sports shops. It's smallish, which is great for me because I hate shopping. Open air in parts, done nice restaurants that aren't expensive and clean toilets.

Not quite up there with La Zenia but good nonetheless. They are working to improve it but the toilets let it down last time we came (roaches galore). The food court has improved greatly. Still a good array of shops
Rebecca Thijm — Google review
Not really a fan of big shopping centres but this one is ok. It's smaller and compact but still has a good selection of shops with not too much walking between them. Good parking is available and it's on the bus route. It has one of the few Starbucks in the area which is usually why we go there. Carrefour is next door and there are some decent restaurants as well.
Tom Leivers — Google review
This centre is very pretty with many brand name shops that you can find in a lot of countries. I usually love C&A but the store here was not as large as others they have and therefore didn't have a large selection. I found most of the clothes shops quite expensive just as they are in Ireland except for your Primark which is great we have the equivalent Penny's store here. There is nothing different about this centre that you can't get anywhere else except that it is pretty. It would be great to see a mix of shops that offered very different price ranges and styles. Some market type shops as the markets in Spain are fantastic.
Patricia Phelan — Google review
Nice shopping centre, plenty of underground parking and shops to choose from.
Very top level is more for food and there is a limited choice upstairs.
There is also a small park on the roof terrace for children.
Toilets are spotless clean and the whole centre, I do enjoy coming here.
Conner Regan — Google review
Very nice shopping center. Pleasantly cool, big and lots of interesting things like an automatic ice cream machine or a racing car with a built-in Playstation.
I recommend the restaurant POMODORO on the top floor, which is very yummy and very cheap.
bensoos — Google review
The layout of Habaneras can get confusing at times, but the same can be said for any shopping centre.
It would be nice if the food courts were more integrated with the shopping centre and not over a 4 lane road but Habaneras does have some of its own food services on the upper floor, but they're limited.
Parking is very easy, with Carrefour next door and an underground bay too.
Overall, an amazing shopping centre, at times can be a bit small but the location is amazing!
The Catholic Church in Parroquia Arciprestal de la Inmaculada Concepción is a historic building with vibrant festivities during Christmas. The church is decorated with a large nativity scene and ornaments, making it a lovely place to visit.
We go to sung mass at 12.00 on the Sunday.
Allow time to find parking a place. Easier to use the underground parking or the one by the port , which is cheaper.

La Bella Lola is a monument located at the end of Paseo Juan Aparicio, paying tribute to the sailors and fishermen of Torrevieja. It commemorates those who found their final rest at sea, including Antonio, Bella Lola's husband, who disappeared with nine other crew members on the ship "La Gaviota." The place has a homely atmosphere and characteristic decor, making it popular among locals and tourists alike.

(Translated by Google) La Bella Lola is located at the end of Paseo Juan Aparicio (maritime promenade). The monument pays tribute to all the sailors and fishermen of Torrevieja who found their last rest at sea, among whom was Antonio, Bella Lola's husband. With nine other people he went to sea with the ship "La Gaviota". Since then, no trace of him or the other crew members has been found. An extensive search was carried out, but unfortunately to no avail. Finally all searches were stopped on May 12, 1919 and all hope of finding them alive was abandoned. La Bella Lola refused to accept the death of her Antonio. Day after day, week after week, month after month, he returned to this place by the sea. She sat on the rocks facing the sea, waiting for her husband to return. Today Bella Lola is still on the rocks at the beginning of Paseo Juan Aparicio. Day and night, she looks at the sea, always searching for her husband. The statue of Bella Lola is a symbol for all the women who saw their men leave with the ship and never return.

Laguna Salada de Torrevieja is a unique and captivating saltwater lagoon. It is renowned for its striking pink color, stunning sunsets, and the presence of migratory flamingos. Despite its quiet and bizarre appearance, various plant and animal species thrive in this salt-crusted environment. In the past, taking a bath in the lagoon was permitted; however, it is now strictly prohibited due to industrial salt harvesting that has brought wealth to the area.
A fascinating place, bizarre, very quiet, salt-crusted, of pinkish color. One wonders how plants or animals can live here, and yet - they do. I heard that years ago it was allowed to take a bath in the Laguna. Today it is strictly forbidden.
The salt is industrially harvested, which brought some wealth into this area decades ago. The business is still ongoing.

Great experience! Definitely go for a swim otherwise you'll miss the floating experience. I was worried of not having the propper shoes for going into the water, but going barefoot wasn't a problem at all for me. If you're sensitive to mosquitoes be aware that they might be a problem.
The place is not touristic at all therefore you can barely find any roadsigns where you can go for a swim. First we got to a location where we couldn't access the lake. After changing the GPS navigation to 'Laguna Rosa' instead of 'Laguna salada de Torrevieja' we were guided to a perfect spot to go in the water. Free Parking.
Unfortunately we were there on a cloudy day, (therefore not as pinkish as we expected) nevertheless it was definitely worth the one hour drive from Alicante

The Cultural Society Casino of Torrevieja is a historical venue offering Spanish cuisine and cocktails and hosting concerts and other special events. The building's impressive architecture may be deceiving at first glance, but the interior is a must-see. Guests have enjoyed drinks on the terrace served by attentive and friendly staff. The menu of the day offers delicious meals at reasonable prices, making it an attractive option for visitors to Torrevieja who are interested in experiencing its cultural scene.

Fantastic old building that's open to the public and used as a cafe. The ceiling in the main salon is worth a few minutes of craning your neck to look at! The Moroccan inspired hallway and bar is spectacular and the inner hall has several old photos of the property before the town and seafront was developed.
Even the toilets are worth looking at, very ornate!
Enjoy time here, have a coffee, take in life, and visit in the evening for cocktails and a different atmosphere.

Please do not have food there.
The black rice paella was made out of regular paella. Seafood was missing except 1 prawn.
The second paella we received was with chicken wings. 🙈
Third paella was raw . The paella rice was undercooked. Out of 3 mussels , 1 was empty and the again one big prawn to prove its seafood paella. 14 euro for undercooked rice.
We didn’t even complain. We paid them and left.
The place is fantastic thought.
Just go there for a drink, or even safer a soft drink.

Once an imposing building with a history. Architecturally beautiful, such as the ceilings and balustrades inside. I took this picture-of-a- picture inside the Casino during my visit 1st week January.
Jacques van Beetz — Google review
You would definitely want to visit here if only once for the absolutely superb 19th century architecture - truly beautiful. I Stopped off here mid morning for a coffee and croissant, which were nice but small - pricey at €4.30, but this place is aimed at the well heeled predominantly French boat owning community in the harbour over the road, plus holidaying Madrileños with a bit of cash. Judging by the clientele I saw, they were miserable with their money. The service was good, although it wasn't busy, and the crockery and music were tasteful. However, the view of a row of green portakabins just across the road was unfortunate, and the fake marble tables made out of MDF were disappointing, particularly in such an august environment, and in a country that excels in marble craftsmanship.

The Playa de Los Naufragos beach is a great place to spend a day at the beach. It has fine sand, palm trees, and a boardwalk for walking along. There are lifeguards on duty, restaurants and a playground for children close by.
Very clean beach, good warm water. Close to the city of Torrevieja. Good sand. People are nice here. One of my most favourite beaches, it is just a little too narrow, could be wider, the street is always in your back.

I edit my review because I was there yesterday, September 2nd, and I was amazed. Impressive how the water was, it looked like a swimming pool, transparent and clean water perfect for snorkeling. It is mandatory to bring booties and it is very difficult to stick the umbrella between the stones, it is advisable to take chairs or something comfortable to lie down on and not get stuck by the stones. If the weather or water is bad, it is better not to go down.
