Dunorlan Park is a peaceful, relaxing park perfect for time with the family. There are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained such as a cafe, a lake, and grassy areas. Parking is free and toilets are well kept.
Lovely park with a wonderful lake in the middle and plenty of benches to sit along the way. The lake offers paddle boats and some row boats 🛶 There is a large café and clean public toilet too.
Free parking is available although limited.

The first time here is a beautiful park, has a coffee shop, car park and toilets (btw the toilets are dirty, unfortunately)
I had a good time with my doggies, and I would love to return.
I'm sure in summer it will be nice, they have boats and you can have a ride for £5 if I'm not wrong with the price.

Beautiful park with free parking in two different locations around the park, tarmac and grass paths around the site leading to a big lake at the bottom of the slope, great for dog walkers with waste bins located at regular intervals with free poo bags at each bin location. It's wheelchair accessible but beware steep slopes on both sides of the lake, take two strong pushers or motorised scooter. The cafe has outdoor seating and the menu is on the outside wall, please see attached photos, good prices and hot and cold snacks and beverages, the toilet block is close by. Water refill stations are a good idea too for the dogs and joggers. Well worth a visit.

Mandatory visit for walking with friends and family or just for some self time, or for runners. Some lovely old trees (I wish I was a botanist to add some detail). It's doable straight from the city center just 15 min walk away. Definitely worth a detour, even in crisp winter conditions it's beautiful.

Gorgeous open space, stunning views from all angles, precious wildlife and healing nature. Creative natural playground for little ones. A worthy escape, a mini Mote Park! 🤩

Absolutely fantastic park which honestly looks and feels more like a nature reserve. The views are gentle and relaxing and there are a variety of spots including a café, a lake, and obviously grassy areas. The children's play area is unique and great fun as long as you bring good footwear (it's a bit muddy). Parking is free (but quite limited if you come on a sunny weekend) and toilets are well kept. A small lake offers paddle boating for a reasonable price. Generally found it to be peaceful and not overly noisy, even when busy.

A beautiful park in Tunbridge Wells.
I've been coming here for years and I never fail to enjoy it. There are fields, trees, paths, a playground and the lake. It's a great walking spot any time of the year. Perfect for families or a quiet solo walk.
There's lots of wildlife including ducks, geese, bats, insects and occasionally a heron. I've also heard tales of some mysterious terrapins.
There is a small car park off of Pembury Road at the entrance of the park, and there is a cafe on site.

Visited twice, once in Spring and once in Summer. Both times it was gorgeous! A lovely green space to enjoy with a lake down at the bottom, cafe, toilet facilities, playground and picnic lawn. Be mindful of which car park you use to park as 1 entrance leads you down a massive hill ( very hard to carry strollers/ lots of stuff). The other entrance is a flat walk in which leads to the lake. Water sports on the lake too!

Fun, and calming place for both kids and adults.
You can see ducks in the lake.
£10 half an hour for paddle boarding or rowing in the lake which is a friendly price.

Our preferred park in the southeastern part of England has limited weekend parking, making it challenging to find a spot. Fortunately, there's a small coffee shop that also serves breakfast.

Lovely friendly staff. It's a beautiful spot in Tunbridge Wells. If they started doing chips, and a few other things it would be heaving

We came to see the soapbox race today. This race raises money for different charities, all for a good cause, so why not show our support. There's different food trucks and live bands too. No worries, there are restrooms, picnic areas, and even paddle boat rental.

We had a lovely time here hiring the boats and the prices were great . A big issue we had here was the young staff had zero customer service . No smile , no engagement with customers and seemed like our custom wasnt appreciated. Due to how badly staff were , id probably avoid as they made us feel very uncomfortable.

One of the nicest parks I have ever been to. The Friends who look after it are amazing. Lots of seating or just laze on the grass. Even the loos have a mural and are so clean. The cafe prices quite reasonable. Lots of ducks, geese, moorhens. Beautiful. Parking is free too, but get there early!

Spa Valley Railway - (Tunbridge Wells West, Station)
The Spa Valley Railway is a heritage railway in Tunbridge Wells, England, which runs between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge Station. The railway operates steam and heritage diesel locomotives, allowing visitors to experience the sights, sounds and smells of early 20th century railway travel.
Visited whilst on family holiday. We had an amazing experience! The staff are incredible, the train drivers answered all the questions we had and they was very patient and explained in a way the children would understand. We got to look at the engine on the steam train and was treated like royalty all day. The station masters where fun and extremely friendly and always made us smile through out the day. Honestly worth a visit !

This was a gift for my wife's 40 things to do before she's 40, I just went along for the ride and I have to say I thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed the whole experience. The people who were working there (volunteers and paye alike) had a real enthusiasm for the trains, throughout the journey to the destination there was a few stops and we decided to get off at each and catch the next one travelling in the direction we wanted to go. There wasn't a massive amount to do at each stop unless you liked a nice stroll. Overall a nice day out enjoyed by us both.

A great place to visit. A real step back in time with both steam and heritage diesel engines in service.
A return trip from Tunbridge Wells West to Eridge and back is about an hour including a ten minute turn around.
Eridge also has a BR rail station next to the heritage line.
It costs £10 for a return trip, for a little more you can get a day rover ticket and ride as much as you like.
Refreshments are available in the train.
At T.Wells West you can view various engines and rolling stock plus there is a shop and a continuously rolling video which shows the history of the line.
There are gala days and Thomas the Tank Engine days at certain times of the year and the Polar express train in December.
They offer rides with cream teas, plus occasional fish & chips runs and various other events. You'll find it all on their website.
There's a fair bit to see and it's all included in the ticket price. You can hop on and off with a rover ticket so you can send all day exploring.
Train mainly run at the weekends but at peak times they run in weekdays.

Needs a lick of paint, but this was an amazing day out. My train obsessed 3 yo was on cloud 9. The entrance of the train onto the platform through a wall of steam was very dramatic. We loved it. Food and hot drinks were available onboard, and at the Tunbridge Wells station there's a shop with toy trains and toilets for while you're waiting.

After being given a Virgin Experience gift card for the steam train, I was really excited to get it booked up! The booking was really easy, and we were able to get our booking in quickly!... much to my other half's dismay, she knew that I would just turn into a little kid (and I certainly didn't disappoint!🤣🤣)... this wasn't the first thought that came to her mind as fun... but once she was there, and not that she'll admit it, she had a really good time! She wasn't that impressed when I said that I now wanted to travel and see more steam trains!!
The trains were amazing! Both the steam train and the diesel were running. The station was 'as it was' back in the day. At the main starting station, they had a shop which was full of train sets to buy which looked soooo great! Unfortunately, I was given an ultimatum... have my other half turn up to our wedding... or buy a train set! Looking back, I wish I'd bought the train set!🤣🤣🙈... hopefully, she doesn't read this!
A fantastic day was had, at least by me! Only let down by my mean fiancée not letting my buy a train set!🤣🤣 Would definitely recommend!

Great heritage railway. It is very well run and staff/volunteers were very friendly and enthusiastic. Fun experience. We went to Eridge and back only but you could also make it a great day out by putting some exploring between the out and return trips.

Today we visited the Spa Valley Railway and hands-down it was the best family day out.
Our two-year-old loves trains, so we bought all-day tickets for the three of us. This meant we could come ride as many times as we would like throughout the day. The tickets were £40, including a £2 booking fee. I just had to show my booking to the member of staff in the ticket office and they printed off our tickets.
We travelled from Tunbridge Wells to Eridge with the diesel pulling and then returned via the steam train.
Staff were incredible! They were brilliant with our two-year-old, explaining how to get the best view, knowledgeable and made the day extra-special. We were able to stand on the hot plate and back at the station, mechanics happily answered all our questions.
We would have been happy if our day had finished after the first return trip but we were able to explore the engine shed, well-stocked shop and go back on the trains after our lunch.
A truly memorable day out.

If you want something to do on a weekend and have a cup of tea or a pint then take this train to Eridge and back with your dog. Our dog Casper loves trains and wasn't disappointed here. Nice stocked bar, tea and cakes at the stations, good clean facilities and educational for the kids.

The Polar Express was a very magical experience. So nice of the real Father Christmas to take time out of his very busy schedule to come on-board and say hi too. Would highly recommend. A lot of attention to detail including Polar Express branded hot chocolate cups, cookies and lanterns. Staff were brilliant and a lot of fun.

Came here for polar express Christmas 2022 in Kate November. We did the 4pm train as was almost dark by then.
Was a bit chaotic at the start but overall was a really good experience and the kids loved the journey and seeing santa.
Most families wear pajamas.. Great fun, very interactive and lots of singing.. Good food options too.
Get here early as parking isn't easy.

We took our 3 year old nephew and he loved it. We rode on the diesel and steam trains and in the brake van with the diesel shunter. There was a model rail exhibition that weekend and he loved that too. Staff were great, we had a picnic on the platform at Groombridge while we waited for our return train. Definitely recommend.

We had tickets for rail ale on the Saturday evening before Father's Day, it was excellent! The train left a little late and was busy, there was a good atmosphere. We had seats in the carriage where the barrels were so people were in a queue going past us, but it seemed to move quickly, and wasn't a problem. I chose a blood orange cider I'd never had before to try and didn't drink anything else, stuck with that, it was delicious! We left after the first trip to join the rest of our party who weren't on the train, but it was going to go there and back again (possibly twice) and we were welcome to stay on if we had wanted to. We really enjoyed our evening, what's not to like?! Beer and cider and being on an old train, brilliant!

Went for THE POLAR EXPRESS™ experience, it was amazing, we all sat in a heated marquee before the train ride. We then boarded the train and got comfy before setting off. The polar express story was told throughout the experience, hot chocolate and shortbread were dished out mid ride. We even got a visit and photos with Santa before returning to Tonbridge Wells West Station. 100% recommend!!!

Amazing railway. We went on the Science Express event. Scientists Zap and Boing were very funny. Road on a 207 DEMU 1317 class diesel. Very open space. Beautiful ride. Saw a herd of deer on the way. Just outside of the souvenir shop there is a little railway book stand where you can donate railway books or magazines. If you want you can also take some back home with you. They encourage to do so.

Went for the polar Express experience. We have an older child for whom grottos aren't as magical anymore but who loves trains.
We hoped to bridge the divide between him and our younger child.
Do:
Watch the Polar Express movie if you can. It enhances the experience.
Read the email ahead of the event as it had instructions we missed e.g. wearing pajamas but it was bitterly cold the day we went so I was actually glad we were not in our pajamas.
If you plan to eat a meal there after the event, book ahead. Most places had no room.
We had entertainment in our carriage with our own conductor, chef and Santa. Hubby found it a bit loud but most families seemed to enjoy it.
My son had hoped the train would go faster... but generally enjoyed the event. Each family got an opportunity to take a photo with Santa and interact with the conductor.
Would certainly recommend but early booking is a must as tickets sold out pretty quickly and I ended up paying for the more expensive offer and having to go in November rather than December.

Tunbridge Wells West offers a delightful experience for families with kids. The main draw here is the enchanting train ride that takes you on a scenic journey through the picturesque countryside. It's a perfect outing for young train enthusiasts, and even adults can appreciate the tranquil beauty of the landscapes passing by.
One of the standout aspects of this experience is the relatively low crowd levels. This means you and your family can truly enjoy the ride without feeling cramped or rushed. The staff deserves kudos for their friendly and attentive service. Their passion for trains is evident, and they are more than willing to share interesting tidbits and historical facts about the locomotives and the route.
For children, this is a memorable adventure. The combination of a vintage train and the idyllic countryside provides an educational and fun experience. They can get up close with the steam engine, which is often a thrilling sight for little ones.
In summary, Tunbridge Wells West is a hidden gem for families seeking a unique day out. The scenic train ride, accommodating staff, and lack of overcrowding make it a must-visit for anyone looking to create cherished memories with their kids while exploring the charm of rural England.

Calverley Grounds is a well-known community park located in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. It boasts of beautifully landscaped gardens, a playground for children, sports courts including tennis and basketball areas, an outdoor gym, and even an ice rink during winter. The park also offers visitors the chance to indulge in delicious food from its cafe or participate in food festivals that take place there regularly. Additionally, Calverley grounds has mini 'formal gardens' that add to its natural beauty.
We popped in here on the way back to the steam railway and so glad we did. There was a Marry Poppins display going on with the car out of the film and the cast from the stage show all dressed up. There was also Mr Bean's car on display. The atmosphere was amazing, and the whole park had a lovely vibe to the place. Definitely recommend a visit here, there's lots to explore and the park is very well maintained.

Calverley Grounds is a picturesque park conveniently located just a stone's throw away from Tunbridge Wells Railway station. It boasts immaculate landscaping, lush greenery, and vibrant flowers, making it a beautifully organized space. I've had the pleasure of visiting several times, whether during festivals or special events like the ice skating platform and ferris wheel set up during the Christmas holidays.
Each time I return, I'm consistently impressed by the park's cleanliness and tidiness. The kiddies' playground is well-equipped, and there are plenty of food and drink options nearby with reasonable pricing and attentive staff. Calverley Grounds is not only family-friendly but also offers a tranquil environment for those seeking a place to relax and contemplate. It truly is a fantastic destination worth visiting time and time again.

Visited for a pre Christmas day family day out. We visited the Grotto, the cafés and went on the Ferris wheel.
The grotto experience was delightful and the staff were fantastic. The Father Christmas was the most authentic Ove ever seen, he was so lovely and amazing with the children.
The Ferris wheel enables us to experience a unique view of Tunbridge Wells.

Great bounding gym- very tightly run, we’ll set routes (with consistent colour coding). Some really interesting walls too, and a preponderance of challenging overhangs. Catering is fine, service can be a little slow because the reception and kit hire is also the coffee shop, but the staff are friendly and helpful.

I visited last week and intend to go back again. Here are my first impressions and my perspectives.
Pros:
- Great, friendly, front of house staff
- Pretty quiet during the day, so you can get a lot of climbing in
- A good mixture of easy to difficult routes
- small gym as part of the fee
- plenty of parking
- 2 walls set every week, very frequent.
- competition wall looks very professional
Cons:
- a quarter of the facility is taken up by walls with only competition / very difficult holds. For me it’s a con because I likely won’t ever climb those so I won’t ever use a quarter of the facility. That’s a whole one side of the entire building. At £14 a time, that’s a lot of facility to not use.
- only opens from 10 am. feels late to me for a leisure facility. Climbing before work would be awesome. Even opening 2 hours earlier would be a big boost.
- not many lockable lockers. Seems most people leave valuables / gear in their car.
Final thoughts: it’s the large section dedicated to a competition wall which, for me, makes this a four star review. It’s a shame that the competition wall can’t also include standard routes outside of competition times, making it an accessible space for everyone. That being said, the rest of the facility is very good. I bought a 10 hit advanced payment thing so I’ll definitely be heading back!

It's fun but very tiring. A very good work out. We spent about 3 hours climbing the different walls they had, I am not as fit as I used to be and this really showed me how unfit I am.
They can supply you with the climbing shoes if you need them. I suggest wearing light clothing, I only own jeans and I think I could have done better in tracksuit or short.
The ground is very soft, so a little fall won't hurt too much.
They have a little coffee shop that you can buy coffee and snack.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Most of the people that were there were very friendly and if you struggle on something there is always someone about to give you some advice.
I saw kids climbing the walls aswell as adults so it's good for the whole family.
A nice day out.

Trinity Theatre is a performing arts venue that offers a variety of entertainment options such as classical theatre, music, films, and visual arts. The theatre also has children's shows featuring animation and puppetry. Despite some concerns about expensive drinks at the bar and slow service during intervals due to limited staff, Trinity Theatre remains a lovely community space with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Its comfortable seating and great selection of films make it an enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Great little theatre - we were row N on the balcony when seeing Nick Cope and the kids could still see fine with help from the booster seats available. The carpark was bigger than expected - we got there 1.5 hours before the show started to make sure we got a space but there are other carparks dotted about. There's a cafe on the ground floor (can't comment on that as we didn't use it) and toilets on the ground floor, too. Friendly staff. Would return!

Pretty good place for a small operation. I visited on a Saturday evening and my only two negative observations were the bar drinks were a little expensive and the service in the interval was slow - only 2 guys serving and people were still queuing when the bell sounded for people to return to their seats.
If the 'management' can improve those issues then it's an easy 5 stars.

We went to see Chicago and beyond last night. It was absolutely fantastic. The musicians were outstanding and the dancers and singers were amazing. It was such a pity that the theatre was only half full the whole cast and band outdid themselves. A wonderful night. Thank you

Fabulous pantomime with a truly engaging cast!
Beautiful scenery and costumes, we absolutely loved every second.
All members of the audience from toddlers to grandparents were enthralled and entertained- well done Trinity Theatre for such a spectacular performance!

I thoroughly enjoyed Cinderella - it lit up my mood for Christmas. It had something for everyone in the family. I especially loved the performances of Sindy and Barbie Hardup (the ugly sisters). Trinity is the perfect theatre for an up close theatre experience.

I took my young son to watch Chicago by the Youth theatre and it was totally brilliant. Not only was the talent on stage such a high calibre, the stageshow, choreography and costumes were fantastic. It was hard to believe that it wasn't a 'professional' production.

Amazing matinee performance of Chicago, which I hadn’t seen before but realised I knew some of the songs! The leading ladies were top notch, not what I was expecting for an amateur production! May they go far if they pursue performing arts as a career! Can’t believe this was put together in just a week.

I was very impressed with the high standard of the dancing, singing and acting on Chicago. I had never seen the show before but knew the story and songs. The lighting was first class. Having done lighting at the oast theatre in Hildenborough, I was very impressed. .

A proper panto, with a great cast in a lovely, intimate theatre. Wonderfully bad jokes, a fun 12 days of Christmas, very funny ugly sisters, great songs and singing.
What an amazing little place.
Great to see a band in such a small intimate setting, don't let the size of the place fool you though, the atmosphere is amazing and it's so loud, so, so loud.
Small choice of drinks, no drafts but should be enough to cover what you want.

Have attended The Forum many times over the years as both an audience member and performer, and have always had brilliant experiences. Pretty intimate venue, but always friendly staff behind the bar, security guards, and great crowd.
Tech staff are always fantastic for performance needs, and do a great job from an audience POV.
One of my favourite venues to attend and perform at, long live The Forum!🤘

Great venue with v helpful staff. Wonderful gig by the John Martyn Project enabled by such a friendly atmosphere. Only downside was a handful of selfish blokes who stood at the front obscuring the view of many behind. T Wells fortunate to have such a venue - use it or lose it!

I've been visiting the Tunbridge Wells forum since it started nearly 30 years ago, and Club Tiberias/Winchester before that, and have seen so many class bands, discovered new talent and just had a f*cking great time.... the award winning venue gets you up close and personal for a live experience that a stadium could never deliver.... this is music!

A night with The Fizz, when the tickets were brought it said nothing about standing only. Stood outside , then another hours wait inside. Couldn't do it with my crazy cyatica so we were going to leave. THEN between a lovely( forum) man and 2 security men they found me a stool and a nice back corner. Enjoyed a great night with my husband because of 3 men and The Fizz. Thankyou all
Grosvenor & Hilbert Park, established in 1889, is a public space that features various amenities such as a playground, bowling green, cafe and habitats for wildlife/birds. It is an enjoyable location for both leisurely strolls and children's playtime. However, it may be better to avoid visiting during times when adolescent smokers are present in the play area.
What a beautiful park, well maintained and lots to explore.
Bryan Lawrence — Google review
Such a brilliant play park! It has a cycle/scooter loop. Swings. Little play area with slide. Bigger play area with 2 slides. Big sandpit to play in. Recommend training bucket & space, toy trucks. My boys love playing in the sand. Cafe with good food and tasty coffees. Toilets and baby change available. Lake with ducks, coots etc to watch. Also a promenade to walk across with ducks too. Skate park at the back. Football area too. Lots of bits great for walks.

This is truly a gem. It's a beautiful park that allows you to take a stroll on well maintained paths which are also wheelchair friendly. There is a lovely Cafe which I found has a really good variety of meals to choose from. Finally there is a well setup kids play area which has the most amazing kids activities which are even big enough for parents to climb and help their little ones. There are nice sand pits and lots of natural wood climbing structures.
Nethin Maharaj — Google review
While this is a wonderful place to go for either a leisurely stroll, or for the kiddies to visit the play area, I my personal opinion, its best to visit during the times when adolescent teens are not smoking their lungs out in the play area. The cafe adds a real boost too, with good coffee and tasty treats for the little ones.

Beautiful wooded park nestled between Tunbridge Wells and High Brooms. Reasonably larger wooded areas cut off the main area of the park for a more secluded walk, and the main area has a nice pond/nature reserve.
It seemed especially popular with dog walkers as the park is mostly surrounded by housing.
Small playground area for children and some pretty cool street art on some of the walls.

Beautiful park with different play areas for all ages, including zip wire and basketball field. There are picnic tables and a coffee shop. No parking as its in the city centre but usually easy to find parking in the surrounding roads.

The Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells, Kent is a versatile venue that offers a diverse programme of theatrical performances including drama, musicals, comedy, dance and live music. With a seating capacity of 985, the theatre attracts audiences from all over the region. The sound quality during concerts is exceptional and there are ample opportunities to enjoy refreshments before and during intervals. The staff is friendly and helpful with well-maintained facilities such as clean toilets.
Fabulous! We went to see Jimmy Carr and it was a great experience. The staff were really friendly and helpful. There are enough places to get a drink before and during the Interval and the toilets were well maintained. The theatre is a gem , and we will definitely be returning.

Good value for money and highly professional productions.

Been here twice in one week, the cavern Beatles on Sunday, then 60s gold on Tuesday, both shows incredible, tiered stalls seem to be best area, seats are comfortable and easily accessible, bar is quite small but adequate, just one small niggle, if it says doors open at 6 I'd like it to be 6 not 6.30,

A great venue for theatre productions and exhibitions alike. We have attended both nationally acclaimed tour performances and locally produced performances.
A very popular venue, with great facilities and a friendly team of knowledgeable staff. Food & drinks are available here, with family-oriented facilities, including birthday parties for children which can be arranged in advance.
We have attended both national tours of comedy & theatre productions and locally produced plays and the very popular, annual Christmas pantomime events.
Highly recommended for visits, including family-oriented events and celebrations.
There are lots of low-cost places to park, that are within easy walking distance from the venue. There are also disabled parking facilities available on-site and the theatre also has assisted performance seats programme that are available to be booked in advance.
Centrally located in Tunbridge Wells, adjacent to the town's main Police station and one of the main public car parking facilities. The theatre is also within a 10-minute walk from the mainline railway station.

It's a nice theatre. Bar is expensive but that's the case with all theatres. There's clear views of the stage from all the seats. Seating is pretty comfortable. There are car parks within 10 minutes walking and the railway station is a similar distance although be prepared to walk up a steep hill coming to the theatre. If you wanted to eat before your performance then there's quite a few restaurants nearby.

Has a parking garage 50m up the hill that can be paid via Ringo app. Very spacious and clean, bar stocks good drinks and snacks too. Only let down is the number of toilets. On a full house day like at Jimmy Carr, the queues for these were mental.
It's also just a 2min walk from the main street with major restaurants.

Good view of stage from stalls (tiers are good).
Good car park 100 yards away.
Friendly staff.
We like this venue.
Bit of a queue for drinks (we'll bring our own, next time).

Royal Victoria Place is a bright and spacious indoor shopping center featuring well-known chain stores, a food hall, and a children's play area. However, the mall currently suffers from numerous unoccupied units, and even the shops that remain seem sparse during weekdays. Despite this lack of activity within the mall, some individuals appreciate its empty atmosphere. While visitors may admire Victoria's portrait in mosaic form at the venue, some wish that it had included depictions of local ancestors as well.
Victoria Shopping Mall offers a delightful shopping experience with its diverse range of stores catering to various tastes and preferences. The layout is spacious and well-organized, making navigation easy. The mall also boasts of excellent dining options, ensuring visitors can refuel between shopping sprees. Additionally, the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, Victoria Shopping Mall is a fantastic destination for both locals and tourists alike.

Too many empty units, and even the shops that have survived seem empty too. Ghostly during the week but I prefer this new uncrowded world. Like the picture of Victoria, though I wish my local forebears had been included in her mosaic.
Paul Taylor — Google review
Dead Mall. Unfortunately.
Thanks to the digital age of online shopping, post covid retail sluggish growth, and blessing of capitalism, this mall is on its last breath. Staggering inflation and cost of living crisis may prove to be a nail in the coffin.
Back to the ground realities:
More than 65% of shops are empty or closed. Food court has ONLY subway left, which may go underground soon! No pun intended.
Mack G — Google review
It's my first time to visit Royal Victoria Place, nice place 👌 😀 I really enjoyed it .
Muhand Aldaraji — Google review
Half empty of shops. The indie shops that are there disappear as soon as they appear, leaving the big ones that are also half empty due to the popularity of their shops on the industrial estate. The food court is empty bar a Subway, and that used to be a lively focal point.
Used to be great, but there's absolutely no reason to go there any longer. I would post pictures, but you know what an empty mall looks like.

I think this shopping centre is the best in the area. I would have given you 5 star if it was not of JB sports.. had an awful experience there. Staff very rude and aggressive. , When I tried to take them back. Said I could not have my money back. This is a total lie. You have every right to have your money back. If they offer you a credit note. Do not accept it.. get in touch with your bank and they will take the money back out of their account and into yours. Then just go back into shop and give them back. Don't let them bully you. I do not expect that level of aggression over two pairs of trainers. Never experienced that before, only in Egypt and turkey. Remember do not accept credit note and contact your bank immediately. They will give you, your money back.

Honestly a great place for a day out, me and my friends get the train here regularly and spend the day looking around the shops as well as the nearby area. Some really good places to eat, we usually get a Subway, but there's a lot to choose from, my favourite shop has to be the HMV, I could spend hours looking around in there. The overall atmosphere of the shopping centre is great, a lot calmer than similar shopping centres in other nearby towns, the decorations around Christmas are amazing and you're never too far from a bench.

Beware of the check in parking system! Despite successfully checking out and obtaining a valid receipt for £4 on my two most recent visits (two months apart), I have in-fact been charged more than double the amount, each time, when checking my online statements.
A poor shopping experience with barely a few decent shops.
Ruth Andrews — Google review
Sad to see how the centre is now ,just need M&S or Fenwick to go and be final straw, the aggressive council attack on motorist will not help the footfall as they will stop coming to town.I have travelled to town for year's to shop it was a vibrant and fun experience but now depressing place, no food hall, lots of empty units and a low quality experience now. Nothing for families in centre. I was in Crowborough and overheard motorist who was fined £70 saying never go to Tunbridge Wells anymore council never learns.

The Royal Victoria Place is slowly dying. There are so many shops empty. Ely Court is devoid of any eateries. It has become a sad and depressing place to visit. Even at lunchtime on a Monday, the place is like a ghost town. Very few people. Sorry, but it's true.
Selina Nurse — Google review
Having popped in here semi regularly over the last 5 years it's sad to see such a massive complex decline so much, every visit there seems to be fewer and fewer shops. The little eating pavilion, which used to have a nice selection of independent food and drink shops now has a bar, smoothie shop and a cafe / record shop, the rest is now closed.
The venue seriously lacks a reason to visit, with generic shops that can be found elsewhere in town.
Stuart Macaulay — Google review
The shopping mall itself is good and you will find some decent clothing, shoes and restaurants etc. But, I would still prefer the high street itself for food ;). The signage in the mall is utterly confusing and it's always a puzzle to find the stores or toilets using the signage. Better to ask someone rather than trying to decode those signs :).

A fair selection of retail chain and unique shops. Free parking for disabled badge holders on two floor of the car park for this shopping centre. Plenty of choices for food and drink.

Posh shopping centre with lots of chain stores and a few cafes. There’s a built-in multi story car park too.
Chris Gledhill — Google review
Found this place very quiet on a Tuesday afternoon. It was very clean and has one or two interesting shops. Unfortunately most are those found in any reasonable size town in the UK.
David Woodley — Google review
Very convenient to park here and you can ether explore the town or shop in the many different retail shops, as well as enjoy a bite to eat or just relax with a cuppa ☕️
Unfortunately like many other places all around the country, if not the world most of the units are closed or empty 😶
But I definitely recommend visiting this place when Fenwick have their sale, it’s usually bargains to be found all around their department store.

This shopping center has no life about it.Many shops closed no proper food court! I used to live in Tunbridge Wells and the shops were great not anymore. Shame as it is a town with lots of history.
Thomson Snell and Passmore organized their yearly Christmas Carol event at King Charles the Martyr, a remarkable gathering of poetry, hymns, and refreshments to instill holiday cheer in all attendees. The charming Anglican Church proved exceptionally inviting with its cozy ambiance and hospitable atmosphere. Its stunning ceiling shone brilliantly as it exuded a serene tranquility throughout the entire structure.
The Church of King Charles the Martyr is a beautiful and historic church located in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells. The church was built in 1676 and is dedicated to King Charles I, who was executed in 1649. The church is a Grade I listed building and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Tunbridge Wells.
The interior of the church is spacious and airy, with a high ceiling and large windows. The walls are decorated with stained glass windows, which depict scenes from the Bible and the life of King Charles I. The church also has a beautiful organ, which is played during services and concerts.
The Church of King Charles the Martyr is a popular place for weddings, baptisms, and funerals. The church also offers a variety of services and events throughout the year, including Sunday services, Bible studies, and prayer groups.

Bayham Old Abbey, a 13th century abbey in landscaped grounds, offers picturesque ruins and free entry (on-site parking chargeable except for English Heritage Members). Information boards located around the site provide historical context. The landmark is dog-friendly and offers visitors the opportunity to walk around its ruins. Knowledgeable volunteers are available to answer questions about the Abbey. Bayham Old Abbey is worth visiting and requires only a short trip out of Tunbridge Wells.
Really impressive ruins and so peaceful. Information boards are placed around the site explaining the history. I really wish there were facilities to get a drink, however it is definitely a place I would like to revisit

Sunny day and great ruins to walk around with a camera. It is a free alternative to some of the more expensive Heritage sites in the area. There is scaffolding up but not everywhere and you can work around it.

This was a spur of the moment visit, we had found ourselves an hour early for our allocated time slot at Scotney Castle just down the road and spotted the tourist signs for Bayham Old Abbey.
It turned out to be a perfect fill-in, an hour will allow a visitor to stroll around the abbey ruins and to get a feel of the original use of the rooms. Most of the masonry is just a “footprint” of the buildings but a few walls remain to a substantial height to give an impression of its former scale.
Admission to this English Heritage site is free of charge, there is a chargeable car park available (pay by phone, single track approach road) and whilst there are no visitor facilities provided on site it may be possible to find these at nearby Scotney Castle (National Trust) without having to pay to enter the site provided that there is space in the car park.
A pleasant tranquil spot, and whilst not a destination in itself it is worth calling in if you are touring the area.

Surprisingly good site to visit, whilst it is a ruin, there's still a lot to appreciate.
However be warned that the site is currently undergoing extensive conservation works, several parts of the buildings may be inaccessible for a while.
Check before setting off.

Bayham Old Abbey is a tranquil place where peaceful reflection comes easily. It was a memorable experience to sit on one of the benches near a large beech tree growing over the abbey ruins and think about the passage of time and entropy, enhanced by the tinkling in the background of the River Tiese, which separates East Sussex from Kent.

Such a place of peace. The ruins of this quite large complex of monastic buildings gives one a glimpse into the peaceful life once lived there, nestled as it is in a lovely valley.

What a lovely place! These are certainly ruins but lovely nonetheless.
We happened to time it just right on a Saturday when the English Heritage volunteer was there and he walked us around a little and gave us some fantastic history of the place, the area, the time periods it was built & changed hands in. There's plenty of information panels too, so you could self guide to an extent, but nothing beats some in-depth knowledge.
There's a few spots to park cars, which I'm guessing get checked here & there (but we're Heritage members with a car park sticker, so it didn't come up).
There seems to be a bookshop but it was closed when we were there. No loos or tearoom (I'm imagining it would be a bit busier if it did have those), but equally a lovely area for a quiet walk.
Will certainly return at some point.

Picturesque ruins in a very peaceful setting. Entry is free (on site parking £2, but free for English Heritage Members), and there are lots of information boards around the site providing history of the abbey. Visited on a Saturday in June and was lucky enough to see the English Heritage volunteer who was able to provide more information about the ruins. Well worth the short trip out of Tunbridge Wells to visit.

Really enjoyed this place! The sunshine surely helped. Road up is single track with a couple of passing places. There are two entrances from the carpark. The one to the right seems more regularly open. We, of course, went left and the one guy who was manning the place kindly unlocked the gate. They seem understaffed. Apparently non members have to pay for the carpark but I didn't see any signs. The site closes at the end of October until March, I think, so if you're planning on going, go soon!

Lovely old ruins to walk around. Dog friendly. Free entry and lots of information boards around the site. 2 lovely ladies in the entrance where we paid for parking ( just £2) that were happy to answer any questions about the Abbey.

Nice old ruins. Good photo opportunity on a nice day. No facilities but we read up and knew that before we went. You don't need more than an hour or so here unless you bring a picnic to extend your visit.
Enchanted forest is amazing, especially climbing/play equipment for children. Excellent birds of prey flying demo was included in the £10 entrance fee. Great café where chef makes food including cakes himself. Plenty of places to picnic. Loved seeing the peacocks. Nice plant and gift shops. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly everywhere. Garden suffering from the heat and part closed for restoration but we'll return to see that.

Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery is a great place to visit if you are looking for local history exhibits, art collections, archaeology and collectibles. The museum has been renovated and features beautiful artwork throughout. There are interesting exhibits throughout the building, making it a great place for kids as well as adults. Totally transformed from when I was a child visiting here and totally wonderful space. They've preserved all the exhibits in stylish cabinets and display areas. There's a temp exhibition space for kids, a beautiful atrium with artwork and a cool cafe. It reminds me of the Melbourne Central Library.
The kids library is so well thought out with books displayed and not just housed. Murals on the wall depict scenes and people from Tunbridge Wells history. There are cubby holes and interactive displays. And also the old rocking horse and dolls house that used to be in the old museum.
What an amazing space.

Museum, gallery, library cafe and community centre. This is a cornucopia of community resources. I just came for the museum, and four excellent small galleries were more than enough to inform me about Tunbridge Wells. All set in the wonderful Amelia Scott building. If you are in Tunbridge Wells, you should go!
S DD — Google review
Since reopening, the Amelia Scott library/museum space is now a wonderful place in Tunbridge Wells. The blending of library, museum, exhibition space is a really good idea as previously they were distinct, separate and if you went for one, you didn't tend to go into the others. Also like the "suggested" books put out as I've stumbled across a lot of new books. So even whilst I still buy a lot of books, the Amelia Scott, library/museum has rekindled my engagement with literature.

Recently given a face-lift, a real contemporary gallery space, community areas and excellent coffee. It's great to have a living, accessible cultural centre I the town. Go, be there and help it thrive.

I've mixed feelings; I felt there was a lot of unused space on the ground floor. The adult library could have been larger as I felt cramped in between some bookcases & book choices were limited. The kids library was being used for story time, so I couldn't look for, nor get help with a child's language book. Help Points were very busy with an 8 min wait (I was there at 10:15). Gave the impression of being a large cafe & meeting point. Perhaps I might feel different about it, in time!
The Fairfax Gallery is a charming place to explore and enjoy a traditional English tea. There are numerous options available depending on your budget, including various delightful tea rooms. Although we encountered rain during our visit, the local band continued playing in the middle of the square from the bandstand. We look forward to returning on a sunny day to sit outside and listen to their music. The gallery itself, while smaller than anticipated, offers an impressive collection of artwork.
Smaller than I expected but nice for a peruse nonetheless. Some very nice pieces on display. The owner was very amicable and happy to let me get on while he did business on his computer.

Lovely place for a wander and a cream tea. Quite a few tea rooms etc to choose from dependant in your price range.
Unfortunately it rained the day we were there but the band played on :)
We will go back on a sunny day and sit outside to listen to the band playing from the bandstand in the middle of the square. Very quaint indeed.

Great local landmark, full of history. A trip to Tunbridge Wells isnt complete without visiting the pantiles. really lovely to sit on the wall and have a drink on a summer evening or one of the many bars and restaurants for lunch.

So quintessentially Tunbridge Wells, the weekend markets complement the quirky shops here perfectly. Good nightlife too, the Grey Lady is a superb jazz venue and there are several good eateries and bars in the vicinity as well.

The Fairfax Gallery on the Pantiles is a real find. Set in one of the towns architectural gems, the fine collection of paintings and sculpture on show inside are even more of a treat. It’s very much worth a visit. I’ll be back for certain.

Unfortunately some of the original pantiles were being removed when we visited here so there was a bit of an upheaval but still a very nice area and includes the old corn hall, the spa and the infamous Pink Alley all set away from the busy high street!
The Beumée Contemporary Fine Art gallery, located in the captivating Pantiles area, offers a delightful experience for art enthusiasts. With its impressive collection of contemporary artwork and sculptures, this gallery showcases exceptional pieces by renowned artists. Susan's remarkable enthusiasm, understanding, and admiration for the exhibited works are truly extraordinary. The gallery staff member is equally amiable and passionate, dedicating ample time to discuss the artworks and their creators.
It is always such a pleasure to visit this absolutely amazing gallery, set in the heart of the beautiful Pantiles. Showcasing some stunning contemporary artwork and sculptures.
Susan’s genuine passion, appreciation and knowledge for the pieces she is exhibiting is out of this world. She has helped transform our apartment into a beautiful and stunning home!
I cannot recommend a visit to this gallery enough!
