Kleftiko, a renowned tourist attraction in Milos and Greece, features striking white rock formations rising from the sea. Although it's not technically a beach, many boats tour the area to explore its sea caves and snorkeling spots. The crystal clear turquoise waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling amidst the dramatic mountainscapes. This popular destination draws visitors from all over seeking an unforgettable experience.
Wonderful place to swim and the water was super clean! You can see the bottom of the floor and there’s some fish, but not too many. We really enjoyed this swimming spot and going through the pirate caves!
Make sure to get there early as boats and swimmers start to make the place busy!

Incredible place. Definitely worth hiring your own boat and going early. Perfect for swimming because it's so shallow, clear and protected.
By about 10-11, there were big tour boats coming in and asking the other boats to move out of their way. We left after that to another beach.
Before the big boats came in, the cove was one of the best places we've been to on Milos.

This is just an incredible place! Crystal clear waters in a secluded cove with plenty of caves to explore if you need to get out of the sun for a minute. Ideal place to swim, snorkel, or just relax on a boat. Absolutely breathtaking!

Undoubtedly, this is the place to be on Milos Island. Everybody goes there. We had the privilege of spending a night there on our own boat, anchored in front of one of the caves that drop from the dramatic mountains. The water is as perfect as it can get, absolutely turquoise blue. You can swim or snorkel between the rocks and caves. One of the greatest places I’ve ever seen on this planet

One of the most amazing places to be in milos. Built from volcanic rocks and only accessible with boat. Crystal clear waters and maybe one of the best swims you could have around the island! Totally worth visiting via daily cruises the island offers...

Amazing swim spot. only accessible by boat. Crystal clear water. Pretty remote, but one of the best beaches to see and swim around.

Took a tour by boat, and took us to the bay where we were able to swim around the bay, through some caves and relax on sone rocks. The scenery is beautiful, with these incredible rock formations everywhere you look; crystal clear waters.
It was quite busy with lots of other tour boats anchored. Still worth it.

Gorgeous!
Unique!
Went there by boat Zephyros from the beach Agia Kyriaki (30€ per person), 4 hours so we had enough time to swim and enjoy Kleftiko

Although the obvious popular choice is to go on a boat to the bay, the hike is as good if not better of a choice. At just over a mile, the walk down gives you amazing views of the rocks and water. The bay itself is beyond beautiful and swimming through the arches is one of the coolest experiences you can ever experience. You must go here if you are on Milos.

Beach only accessible by boat. Beautiful. Color of the water is great, transparent, can see the ground. Well worth it. Water is cold (May) but worth a dip. Stayed in area to the side of main beach with less boats, it can get pretty crowded. Bring some food and drinks and chill 👍 would go back
Felipe Borges — Google review
Great place for snorkeling, but you need to be careful, when there are too many tourist boats around.
The later you will get there the harder it is to find a good spot for your boat. Best thing would be to find a local skipper.

Took a boat trip to see Kleftiko.
A whole day sailing the Coast, with an amazing captain.
The weather wad perfect.
Almost no Windows and a lot of sun.
Can defently recomend them, excellentyacht.
The tour startet at a beach, prostavast and then ended in Adamas.

Potentially the most beautiful water on earth. Only accessible by boat for the most part. Very fun to go explore water caves by small boat. Water is crystal clear with beautiful small fish. A must see paradise in Greece. Make sure to bring a swimsuit

Incredible place and excellent for snorkelling. There is no beach as such, just a few rocky spots. Otherwise the point is to swim all around the caves!

Wonderful place for a swim in a beautiful scenario. Only accessible via boat you need to choose one or many tours available in Milos. With a day tour we stayed there for more than a hour and it was great!
Fyriplaka beach is a serene and secluded sandy strip featuring distinctive stone formations and striking red-colored cliffs. The beach offers crystal clear waters, which are known for their exceptional cleanliness - allowing swimmers to enjoy the view without the need for goggles. Despite its secluded location, the beach attracts a friendly crowd of visitors who appreciate its peaceful ambiance.
The water at Fyriplaka beach is some of the clearest and cleanest water I have had the privilege to swim in while traveling around Greece.
I could swim without goggles and see everything so clear. It was an amazing experience.
The beach wasn’t too crowded and the few people there were friendly and pleasant to be around. It took awhile to drive and walk to this location so I think anyone who makes it just wants to enjoy the peace and beauty of this beach.
I hope to see it again some day.

Amazing Beach! Fyriplaka has one of the clearest waters I've seen so far, almost like in a swimming pool! The surrounding is also among the nicest when it comes to beaches in the Greek islands. If you want to have shade you should bring your own umbrella or you can rent one for 20€ with two sunbeds.
AlvaLuke — Google review
One of our favorite beaches during our one week Milo stay. Water was so calm we could walk very far out into the sea and still stand.
There's also lounge chairs that you can rent from a bar called Loco on the beach if you don't have your own/want to lay your towel on the sand.
lesmallcheese — Google review
Fantastic beach. Water is beautiful and comfortable. Lots of beach areas to explore. You don’t have to rent a sun bed. You can set up your own spot. Snacks and drinks available at the snack bar.
Andrew Lian — Google review
Nice place to visit, there is a sandy beach and rocks and cliffs in the background - some people even managed to build some sculptures with the stones found there - I gave it a try too and had much fun. The water is awesome, but better to go to the second part of the beach, there are much better vibes.
Khatia Gagnidze — Google review
Loved this beach. Crystal clear water, can swim around and through the big rock. Some shade in the afternoon under the cliff, but spots limited so definitely bring your own shade if possible. Didn’t feel crowded at all. Is also the departure point for the Milo’s water sports kayaking tours.

Fun beach, not too crowded on a weekday afternoon. There is a rock you can swim through that is pretty neat. Folks were continuing to the next beach, but you'll need foot wear.
The Milos Mining Museum showcases the island's mining heritage with exhibits, photos, and videos displaying obsidian artifacts. The museum is accessible to everyone as it has an entry ramp and wheelchair lifts on stairways. Visitors can choose to either take an hour-long guided tour or explore at their own pace. The museum provides a comprehensive history of all mining operations on the island throughout time, contributing context for visitors' beach excursions and overall understanding of the area's geology and economy.
Amazing museum, two floors full of exhibits and a room where a nice documentary is played. The museum helps to understand the mining activities, geology, and the economy of the island, which provides context for visits and exploration of the beaches. Recommended!
Kristina Gligorić — Google review
Worth the time and €’s. €7 with audio guide, €5 without. Takes about an hour with the guide or self-pace without. Built on 3 levels, it is Handicap accessible with entry ramp and wheelchair lifts on the stairways. The museum presents a good history of all the mining taking place on Milos through the ages.

A very interesting museum featuring the rich history of the island in mines. Two levels packed with nicely presented exhibits and a museum shop with many choices.

Very interesting, but small, especially if more than one tour bus loads are present. Learn about volcanic mineral history. Bentonite, perlite, sulfur, obsidian, kaolin and Milos' story.
Leonard Smith — Google review
One wouldn't expect there would be such a well-curated museum in a small island such as Milos. But here it is. There are plenty of mineral samples and some that you're allowed to touch. Abundant information is provided as to the history of mining in the island and the geographical distribution of each mineral within the island. There's also a short film screening at the basement. Nice place to go after four consecutive days of outdoor activities.

Find out more about Milos as well as it’s rich mining industry in the past as well as now. Great! However, the movies were not being shown. Good to take audio guide if you get tired from reading. If movies are not available they can be watched online!

Nice museum which describes Milos’ mining history. It can get a bit technical towards the end but all in all, it’s worth a visit to get to know a bit more about the island.
Plathiena is a picturesque crescent beach nestled amidst rocky cliffs and adorned with trees. It boasts of a Greek restaurant and cocktail bar, making it an ideal spot for families to relax and unwind. The turquoise blue waters are shallow and perfect for swimming while the sandy beach provides ample space for sunbathing. However, shade is limited, so visitors are advised to carry umbrellas. Those who arrive early can rent chairs and umbrellas before they run out.
Absolutely loved this beach with the wild blue water. Such a pretty location and still quite protected even on a very windy day.
Lisa Do (thisislisax) — Google review
This is a beautiful beach! There are sunbeds available to rent but there were also spots shaded by trees on the sand. The beach is bordered by gorgeous cliffs. The water is clean, clear and waist deep for a long stretch. There weren't any seaweed or rocks that we had to go over to get into the water. The water was very calm with the occasional waves from boats passing by. There was plenty of parking too. Definitely an underrated gem.
April Locke — Google review
Great beach accessible by car. There are only a few sunbeds available so better bring your umbrella. Food and drink option in the bar
Serafeim Loukas — Google review
One of our favourite beaches in Milos. It’s so beautiful. The beach bar service is amazing, super friendly staff who are proud of their beautiful beach and the service they offer. €25 euro for a set of sunbeds and umbrella for the day with food and drink service right to the sun bed. Food was good, didn’t lift a finger.
There’s also access for people with disabilities which is really nice to see.
Mary Garrett — Google review
The drive in was narrow and rough but worth it for the spectacular beach. There are parking spaces but they are limited so get there early for easy parking (before 10:30 or so). We rented 2 chairs with umbrellas and a table for €18. That was a bit pricey. However, it was really comfortable and nice to get some shade. You can also stay at the beach and not rent chairs.
John Papavizas — Google review
Nice sandy beach northwest of Plaka. We haven't been to the poolbar but it looks like the perfect place for a sundowner.
You will find some nice places for snorkeling on the northern side of the bay.
One great thing I like about this place is that it has a device for handicapped people so they can take a swim as well.
Martin B. — Google review
Beautiful beach with crystal clear water! Very nice for a swim. Mostly sand, get’s more rocky when you go further down the beach. There is a nice little restaurant to get a snack and something to drink with clean toilets. Also they have the ability for wheelchair users to get into the sea!

Maybe our favorite beach on Milos. It is quiet and not as heavily populated as others. You need a car to get out there. You can rent beach loungers with cushions for a reasonable rate. The restaurant was really good as well.
Bill Sering — Google review
Best beach day on Milos! IMHO, this beach does not get the credit it deserves. Our map was marked with “best beaches” we had noted from a variety of sources - this beach was not even on the list. But we happened to notice it while enjoying the view from the hilltop town of Plaka located close by. We drove down to the beach - lots of parking (some creative), easily accessible bathroom with shower (well water), cafe with drinks and snacks - all located directly across from the beach. Several changing stations available. The water is as good as it gets!! CLEAR. Emerald green gives way to cobalt blue. Great snorkeling along the adjacent cliffs. You can wade out to mid-chest deep for about 50 yards out. I look forward to visiting it again!
Jim Lynch — Google review
A favourite beach on Milos - sheltered and reasonably easy to drive to. Wheelchair access into the water for those who need it.
Fleur E — Google review
Beach was a lot quieter than the others around the island. We went and got 2 sun beds but when we left, the guy from the little restaurant charged us 18 euros. Just be aware. They have toilets & showers available. Beach itself is nice.
Amanda DeLaHoya — Google review
A nicely welcoming beach, in a far corner of Milos island.
It's quite sought after, so relatively busy, but not unpleasantly so - Milos is itself quite a charming and not overcrowded island.
The place has sunbeds and sun umbrellas sets (for 25€ a set in August!!) and place for towel goers (free of charge).
A beach bar - restaurant is nearby; good enough food and wonderful service.
Driving there is challenging - Greek style of winding, semi-paved and very narrow roads leading there; for a driving enthusiast it makes the day though...
Radu Dumitru Nica — Google review
Great beach for families, turquoise blue, sandy and shallow. A cantina on the beach serves coffees, soft drinks and beers with some snack foods to hold you over. Not a lot of shade so bring an umbrella, if you get there before 11am you have a shot to rent some chairs and umbrellas. Location alittle hard to get to but that’s what makes it a well kept secret from the whole island descending on this little piece of paradise. Oh BTW the sunsets are due west and beautiful.
Tsigrado Beach is a secluded and picturesque beach nestled amidst towering cliffs, rocky passages, and caverns on the southern side of Milos island. Although challenging to access due to a steep and narrow path with ladders and ropes, the soft white sand and crystal-clear water make it a worthwhile sight. Tsigrado beach lacks organized amenities, so visitors should bring their own supplies for an enjoyable experience.
Beautiful beach! Hard to enter: look at the picture. You need to climb the latter up and down! When you arrive at the beach it’s amazing! It’s isolated by the cliffs on the sides and the small cave makes a fantastic place to swim and have fun.
The beach is small, but it’s perfect out of season when there is not that many tourists!
Michael Andersen — Google review
Stunning beach but difficult to access.
You need to use two massive ladders and rope to climb down. I’m scared of heights but could go down easily. Do not go with kids and I recommend to have good shoes or no shoes. We left our flip flops behind the time to experience this small adventure.
Marie Tessier — Google review
This was so fun adventuring to! Beach is beautiful and the view is stunning. The ladders aren’t easy, so the beach definitely isn’t busy.
Alix Burkart — Google review
Beautiful hidden away beach. The ladders are definitely a bit scary at first, but they are well worth the trouble! It is doable in flip flops but I would definitely recommend wearing sneakers. When you get down to the beach be sure to swim out to the tucked away caves on both sides.
Nicholas Perkons — Google review
Great cove to visit with a tricky decent into it. There is free parking at the top and then you climb down two ladders to reach the beach. Shoes advisable for the climb and pack light, as the rocks you have to travel between are tight.
Highly recommend getting there early in the morning. (We got there at 9am and the beach already had a few people on it). Beach has limited space and a lot of people arrive around 11am, including boats that drop off tourists.
Clear waters with a couple of caves you can explore. The sea floor is a mixture of large rocks and sand. Sea shoes recommended. Half of the cove is in the shade for the first half of the morning.
Nathan Attenborough — Google review
Overrated. Okay, the ladder experience is fun but can become scary for some people. After that, you'd expect a great beach and yet you get dry seaweed a bit everywhere, just a few meters of sand, and not much space. Maybe by boat it can be better - but go check firopotamos instead.
Deka DQ — Google review
Getting down to the beach on foot is challenging. There are two staircases and a rope. It is steep, rocky and slippery. The steps on the stairs are big.
But very worthwhile when you get down! The beach is small and mostly rocky. There are beautiful caves and lovely snorkelling spots.
Laura Porro — Google review
Well worth the hike down the cliff side to swim at this beach. The views at the top are stunning and one my favorite memories that will last a lifetime.
I hope I can return to Greece some days soon for more adventures.
Be safe and happy travels.

Double ladder descent to the beach makes this place so special. Highly recommend functional footwear. We went early in the day to avoid crowds and had it to ourselves for a little bit. Crystal clear water and incredibly cool rocks!
Aubrey Mable — Google review
Great little beach. Worth getting there by boat as opposed to car. If you drive/walk there you enter the beach via a ladder. The actual sand part of the beach is pretty small.
There's lots of shallow, crystal clear water. Great for swimming especially if the wind is blowing. Relatively protected beach.
Definitely less boats than kleftiko. I think there were only 2 other small boats there when we were.
Zack Letinic — Google review
This beach was amazing. My group ended up going back several times during our stay in Milos. Such a fun adventure to climb down ladders on a cliff to reach a beautiful beach. The beach area itself is fairly small, every time we went we didn’t have trouble getting an area to lay down at and leave our things, the water here felt so refreshing and was such a beautiful color. Highly recommend checking this beach out if you can!
Luke McNeal — Google review
Not a beach you go for their safety rating but that’s all part of the adventure, there’s a couple of steep ladders down into a deep cove beach, some nice caves, very rocky, best to get there earlier in the day as it looses sun later on

The best beach in Milos.
Access is not easy, the first part is more or less fine, the last staircase that goes down to the beach is a bit complicated. Nothing that can't be done! In the end, everyone who wants comes down.
It has a small cave that is an oasis of peace and tranquility.
The beach is spectacular, but you have to bring an umbrella.
I recommend wearing shoes tied to the foot to go down and up.
Carla Fernández — Google review
If you are somewhat in shape, it's a must!! Would avoid with kids or older people. We had to wait for 10+ people to come up one by one for us to go down, but once the "traffic" passes, it's basically going down a ladder. Make sure to watch where you put your feet and you're good to go. Stunning view for snorkeling place, calm water. Not lots of place to lay down so less crowds. Would go back and stay longer😁
tiffany leonard — Google review
If you want to access the beach, it's at your own risk because you gotta go down an old ladder.
The final destination is a private small beach to swim, not much space to lay down.
Beautiful view regardless.
Janessa Mari Oriel — Google review
Beautiful small beach, a little difficult to get to if you’re not able to climb a ladder etc, much easier to get back up vs get down there. there’s very little beach available to lay on but the water was beautiful and relatively calm and had a lovely pocket of sunshine and a nice breeze. Definitely toasty
Christina Tran (Tiinadear) — Google review
Beach accessible by going down the ladder. When we arrived there was a queue to get down. There is set of two ladders. Pretty tricky to get down. I'd recommend proper footwear as it is easy to fall with flip flops on. Once down there is pretty, small beach. Lovely place, can get crowded though.
Marta Barczak — Google review
Beautiful isolated beach.
Be warned that the descent down the cliffs via an old wooden ladder is not for the faint hearted!
During peak season it get quite backed up, due to people both trying to come down and go back up the single file ladders at once.
Joshua Bayly — Google review
It is not that hard to go down, go with comfortable shoes because you’re gonna have to go down two very sketchy stairs and the beach is very very small and crowded. You also have to wait to go up or down because there is only one way of stairs so it takes some time if there’s people. I liked it more when I saw it from above than when I went down. It is very pretty but I honestly liked other beaches more than this one. I recommend to go to fyriplaka which is next to this one and is bigger and with a nicer view and the most crystal water I’ve ever seen
The Ancient Theater of Milos, located near the Catacombs, features tiers of Parian marble seats overlooking the natural harbor and hills. Belonging to the ancient town of Klima, it was initially built in Hellenistic times and reconstructed after being razed by the Athenians in Roman times. The theater offers a fantastic panorama of Klima and is a must-visit historical site on the island.
Great landmark, definitely worth visiting it. Be aware that as you are driving down the hill, just about 150m before you reach to 'catacombs' landmark, make sure to notice the off road entrance and handwritten sign that says 'Ancient Theatre' on your right hand side. You can park on the side of the road, or drive all the way down to the catacombs, park there where its spacious and walk your way up to the entrance of the theatre. Get some water with you!!
Anna Kotsaki — Google review
You do not need to buy tickets from what we saw going in October. It's free to visit the theater and worth a quick stopover. In Athens you are not able to get up and close to ruins like this! Very neat to see with your own eyes. The parking lot is also free and it's about a 10 min walk from there to the theater.

The theater is beautiful, well restored, the surroundings are worse. There are shards of antique pottery lying around the entire site, which should be in a museum and not on the ground for people to step on. The entire territory should be better explored, restored and presented. One does not learn anything about the temple that was on the site of the current church at the top of the site...
Peter Záhora — Google review
What an incredible piece of history. It’s stunningly well preserved. Even more impressive is that there was no cost of entry and a great deal of access to walk around the theater and even give your own performance. The acoustics are astounding and we had the whole place to ourselves so it was neat to experiment with the resonance of our voices in this beautiful amphitheater.
We didn’t realize the theater was just above Klima, so upon seeing an information plaque on our way into town we took a detour up the rough path just before sunset and were thrilled with our decision. You can walk back down the path for a drink and food at the popular restaurant on the water. The sunset here over the sea was perfection and we felt lucky to snag a table and reflect on an exceptional day in Milos.

Amazing marble ruins of an ancient Roman theatre dating back to the 3rd century. Access is down a steep rocky path, which you’ll need good shoes for. You are then rewarded with a view overlooking Klima and Trypiti, with the theatre at the base. Let your imagination take you away about how this would of been used back in those times… Worth a visit, it’s free and only a quick 20 minute stop off if you doing other things in the area.

Great location to take a picture of your next album cover. Rocky road with lots of big pebbles and uphill walk, so wear appropriate shoes. Also, make sure you go to the bathroom before you get to this location. There is one portapotty that probably hasn't been emptied since the theater was built. And it smells that way too. Great views of Klima. Absolutely unbeatable views.

Holy Cannoli! It’s a sound engineers dream! The acoustics of the theatre are amazing! It would be cool to see bands performing here similar to Pink Floyd playing in Pompeii. What a marvel. When I was there, an Englishman decided to do a soliloquy and captivated us with his performance. The sound was so great that it felt like he was talking in your ear. Mind blown. Do check it out! Next time I’ll bring my flute ^_^

Outstanding views and free entrance. You have to visit it if you go to Milos. The state of Afroditi was found nearby.
Agia Kiriaki Beach is a serene and stunning stretch of shoreline, featuring both sand and pebbles that are white in color. The water is crystal clear and shallow, making it a popular spot for swimming. A casual taverna serves local specialties to beachgoers. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for rent for those seeking shade, while trees offer natural shelter from the sun's rays.
Great beach, easy access, not too crowded. Pebble sand beach so clear water. There is a bar also and if you want, you can rent 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella for 25 euros.
Safe choice when there is wind in the island.

Paralia Firopotamos is a charming beach located in a cozy cove that offers visitors opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying cocktails at a nearby bar. The area boasts stunning scenery with crystal clear waters and vibrant sailboats dotting the seascape. Lovely beach, beautiful scenery. Small beach. Family friendly.
Paralia Paleochori is a picturesque beach located in an intimate ocean cove. Its shoreline is adorned with vibrant pebbles and colorful cliffs, providing a stunning backdrop for visitors. One of the unique features of this beach is the presence of volcanic steam emanating from beneath the sand, causing it to be hot both day and night. Despite being crowded in places where there are beach bars and sun beds, there are quiet areas at the end of the beach ideal for relaxation.
A wonderful beach with a hot surprise: there is volcanic steam coming up from under the sand, so the beach is hot both day and night. While you can comfortably walk at any time, digging a little bit deeper it’s almost too dangerous as you can burn yourself. A nearby restaurant on the beach is cooking some of their foods in the volcanic fumes. An absolutely outerworldly experience. Also a nice place to anchor your boat.

Beautiful and large sandy beach with red, volcanic rocks and pebbles. Usually crowded at the parts where there are beach bars and sun beds but there is always space at the end of the beach which is also the quiet one.

Big beach with, in theory lot of space. But 3 private places and a lot of noise for this beautiful place. Some little areas are available if you don’t want to pay for a sit.
Easy to park for cars.
Sam Woro — Google review
Easy access and parking. Super clear water and interesting view. In this particular location sand can be super hot and burn your feet due to underground volcanic activity. There is no sand close to the water, small gravel only. Sundbeds prices are ridiculously high (35 to 60€). A lot of activity are available on this beach (jetski, paddle, big things dragged by a motorboat...) which also means a lot of noise. Definitely not the most beautiful beach of the island.

Would only come here if you're spending many days on the island.
Παραλία Προβατάς, also known as Provatas Beach, is a stunning destination in Milos. The beach offers warm waters and clean sand, making it perfect for sunbathing and swimming. Visitors can seek shade under an old tree near the old fishermen's houses or rent umbrellas for added comfort. Muses restaurant provides delicious Greek food and refreshing drinks right by the beach, offering a convenient dining option.
Gorgeous beach with clear blue water. Greece at its best moments.
Alexandra Efstathiou — Google review
Decent beach but make sure you bring your own umbrella. There is little to no natural shade and because it faces south it can be very hot as it’s unaffected by the north winds that are common in the summer on the island (that means no waves!)
When I visited back in 2018 I enjoyed my experience at the beach bar but this time we were asked to pay 50 euros for the set of beach chairs … what ?!?! This is an insane price for what really is just a typical Greek beach. Nothing special. So either come with your own umbrella or go elsewhere.

Papafragas Caves, situated on the northern side of the island near Sarakiniko Beach, is a must-visit location for tourists. It boasts pockmarked volcanic rocks that conceal stunning swimming holes, beaches and sea caves accessible by carved steps. There are two areas to explore at Papafragas beach: the top looking down into the cove area and trekking down via a marked path or walking along the top easily enough.
The visit is best from the top looking down into the cove area, where there sits a tiny beach (good enough for 6 people, maybe). The rocks around the cove are stunning, along with the water. And you can trek all the way down the cove via a decently marked path or walk along the top of it easily enough.
Look out for the cars parked alongside the road to know where to stop as there's no obvious car park.

cool caves! you can swim across it :) be careful to climb down, not very accessible to everyone! check if the water is deep enough before thinking about cliff jumping

Wonderful place and sea!
You can park the car on the road nearby and walk 5min. The access is not easy with a narrow rocky path but the sea is amazing!!

A special beach, it's more to go check it out, maybe swim for a bit and leave. Go early in the morning and you might find it empty. Definitely prefer shoes if you want to go down to the beach. Don't try to jump from the rocks, because it's not very deep.

During my recent business trip to Milos, I decided to explore the natural wonders of the island and set out to visit the awe-inspiring Papafragas Caves. Opting for a rental motorcycle, a popular mode of transportation on the island, added an extra layer of adventure and freedom to the experience.
As I arrived at the Papafragas Caves, the first thing that struck me was the sheer beauty of the surroundings. The contrast of the deep blue waters against the imposing rock formations created a picturesque scene that took my breath away. The caves themselves were nestled within the cliffs, inviting me to explore their hidden depths.
Arriving on a rental motorcycle allowed me to easily access the Papafragas Caves, as they are located in a more remote area of the island. The flexibility and convenience of riding a motorcycle meant that I could navigate the winding coastal roads with ease, taking in the stunning scenery along the way.
Once at the caves, I was able to fully immerse myself in their natural splendor. The rugged cliffs and intricate rock formations were a testament to the island's geological history, and the caves themselves provided a sense of mystery and intrigue. As I ventured into the caves, the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks created a soothing soundtrack, adding to the overall ambiance.
Exploring the Papafragas Caves on a motorcycle was an exhilarating experience. The feeling of the wind in my hair as I rode along the coastal roads, with the stunning scenery unfolding before me, added an extra layer of excitement and freedom to the adventure. It was a true feast for the senses, combining the thrill of the ride with the natural beauty of the caves.
In conclusion, visiting the Papafragas Caves in Milos was an unforgettable experience, made even more special by the journey on a rental motorcycle. The combination of natural beauty, the thrill of riding, and the exploration of the caves created a truly unique and memorable adventure. Whether you choose to visit by motorcycle or another means of transportation, the Papafragas Caves are a must-see destination that will leave you in awe of the island's natural wonders.

Loved seeing these volcanic rock formations. Didn't swim as it was a bit chilly in November. But it would be spectacular for swimming, exirong and rock jumping. Small car park and small amount of off road parking.

A nice place to visit and snap some amazing photos. You can climb down to the cave and its tiny beach if you feel like swimming in this unique environment. Make sure you equip yourself with water bottles and snacks.

Absolutely stunning little beach with a hole that you can jump into ! Get there early for no tourists… a little hard to find shade so don’t stay for too long

A must see? No. Easy to see while there? Yes. Worthwhile, yes.
It sports some excellent views of the mountains, some sea caves, and a hidden living quarters built into the rock.

Fun spot. Worth visiting. The sea caves are massive. Just be very careful walking the property and looking over the edges. There is definitely no safety regulations. The little cave house is closed up. It would have been fun to see inside if it was restored.

What a treat! You can swim through the larger opening, or through a smaller one on the side into open water. The stairway down to the enclosed beach is not for the faint of heart btw!

Lovely place to visit!! Very unique.
Don't think you can actually swim there but it is a small place so won't take long to see it.
Recommended going at sunset as the views are amazing!!

Technically the site couldn't be visited because it is closed but everybody enter from the side..the geological formations and caves are spectacular but better not to visit them in your flip-flops

Totally better than expected and a must see for anyone visiting Milos. A large parking lot and lots of different views of the oceans and the caves from up top. Please do be very careful when walking along the edge/cliff. Most of the paths are very safe to walk on, especially when wearing proper footwear.

A must stop in Milos as it is one of the best beaches there, if not in all the Cyclades. A small bay, reacheable only via a small, steep footpath. The beach portion is small with a few caves for shade but bathing in the cove was great: refreshing waters sorrounded by tall rock walls
Angelo Marino — Google review
Special caves.
Dosent take long to look at, but they are beautiful.
Posibility to go around the caves, if you have good shoes and a steady hand.

Mesmerising to watch, it's natural beauty is insane - absolute must stop by to marvel at and photograph. Looks (and smells) super dirty though. Also, full of young couples engaging in public displays of affection. Probably just come for the photos.
Paralia Alogomandra is a beautiful wide beach surrounded by nature, offering a serene escape. Visitors can explore the stone area to discover a small and cozy cove, perfect for those seeking a more secluded spot. The clear waters make it an ideal location for snorkeling, providing an opportunity to observe the underwater beauty. It's recommended to visit on calm days to fully enjoy the experience without wind interference.

Bonita playa amplia en plena naturaleza.
Si caminas un poquito por la zona de piedras verás otra cala pequeña muy acogedora que a mi me encantó. Pero es pequeñita así que puede ser que no encuentres hueco.

The Plaka Castle, also known as the Venetian Castle of Milos, is located in the village of Plaka. The castle dates back to the 13th century and served as a refuge from pirate attacks. Although not much remains of the castle today, visitors can still explore its old walls and enjoy panoramic views of the entire island from its second-highest peak.
Highly recommended,
Don’t miss this part of Milos you will get the best sunset spot in the Island and maybe one of the best worldwide,
A bit difficult to reach but it worth it

This castle area on the island of Milos, which witnessed the rule of Venice, is one of the places worth visiting on the island. The castle, dating back to the 13th century, is located at an altitude of approximately 280 meters.
As you climb to the castle, you will pass through colorful streets with various restaurants and cafes, decorated with flowers and cats lazing around happily. When you reach the top where the church called Mesa Panagia is located, a wonderful view of the island and the sea awaits you.
Climbing to the top is not difficult, you can do it easily and with pleasure. After climbing the castle, you can find many more restaurants and various souvenir shops in the lower streets.

One of the highest places on Milos! And what a great view especially when it’s sunset!
It’s hard to walk up the hill. The road is full of chunky rocks. If you are under normal conditions it take about 20 min walking to the church.
Michael Andersen — Google review
Gorgeous views from this place, an old castle and a terrace near the church. You can embrace nearly the whole island.
The village of Plaka is very touristic though, and according to me, can be ignored.

Best place for a sunset. Grab a takeaway drink in the town area, then head up the path. Short but steep walk up, not hard, but the path is uneven, so where good shoes. It gets really busy, but heaps of cool areas to park up and look across the ocean to see the sun setting.
Jemma Richardson — Google review
Takes some time to get to the top but the view is well worth it. Combine it with the sunset and it's magnificent. Make sure you carry some water bottles with you or bring a bottle of wine if you plan on enjoying the sunset with your partner.

The best sunset of the island. It's around 10-minute walk from Plaka and best to have comfy shoes. A must-go place if you visit Milos.
Christos Nasmis — Google review
You don’t really go for the castle. You go for the view. Good place to watch sunset then walk down to find a restaurant to have dinner. Hike is a bit awkward with little to no signage except for a couple poorly painted white arrows. Also the signs that do exist say Kastro 👍
Felipe Borges — Google review
I thought I was going to hike up the mountain, but it was literally 10 minutes walk from plaka. It's a good opportunity to check out the restaurants and shops in plaka after you finish. The view up there was stunning you can see the whole island. Don't miss.

Incredible view. A bit hard to find (Google maps will lead you astray). Follow the signs that say "Kastro" to find the path. Then climb the stairs all the way up. There are two churches up there, so don't just stop at the first one.

Idyllic sunset with heart warming views, to my experience, way better than Santorini, as it gives you privacy to enjoy the moment! Bear in mind that climbing up the stairs can be challenging and very easy to hurt your feet because of the rocks; comfy shoes come handy … It can also be extremely windy !!! Wish I could go again …

Breathtaking views, especially for sunset.
To get there, take the trail going up to kastro from Plaka and just follow up the hill.
It gets crowded at sunset.

It only loses a star as we battled to find it even with Google Maps - & we were underprepared for the hike as we thought we could drive closer (no water & no sunscreen) beautiful view & close to Plaka. Make sure you visit the Archeological Museum of Milos that is close by.
Mandrakia, a charming fishing village located on the north side of the island of Milos in Greece, boasts picturesque boathouses that are perfect for capturing stunning photographs. Although the beach is not sandy, Mandrakia's natural beauty is worth a visit. Visitors can enjoy swimming in both beaches and exploring crystal clear waters. Medusa restaurant, which is considered one of the best restaurants in Greece, provides an opportunity to experience Greek culture while satisfying hunger pangs.
A very different beech, quite unlike the rest. It's scenic and full of character, and in a way depicts what life on this island must have been like a few decades ago.

The Archaeological Museum of Melos is home to a remarkable collection of artifacts from the 3rd millennium until the 12th century BC, showcasing the island's rich history. The museum features outstanding Early Cycladic, Minoan and Mycenaean artifacts discovered at Phylakopi, including patterned pottery, figurines, and the iconic Lady of Phylakopi shrine.
Open until 22.00 during the summer months it us definitely worth a visit. It features many ancient artifacts from old and early digs and, of course, a replica from the world-famous Aphrodite of Milos!

Small and proud of its exhibits. We had lot of fun taking a look. The copy of Venus de Milo is in the center of the museum. I would highly recommend to visit.

Cute little museum with small admission price (£3 each for adults) Interesting to see the exact replica France gave Milos of the Venus de Milo (the original was found on Milos...Aphrodite of Milos... in the 1800s and went to the Louvre in Paris)
There are lots of interesting things about burial sites and glass blowing from the Roman time on the Island. If you enjoy history even a bit, take the time (30 min) to visit. QR codes on the stands of most of the artifacts take you to an explanation of the piece (free wifi available!)
Parking is easier further down the hill. Tricky to find spots sometimes, but it is doable..

Fantastic little museum, a thoughtful and well presented selection of important local finds without being overbearing. Cheap to go in and good for 30 mins diversion and includes a life size cast of the Venus de Milo, you get a better view than of the original in the Louvre 😅

Small museum with only a few rooms, on one level. We found it by chance, when we got lost looking for the Folk Museum. There is ancient art as well as, its modern counterparts. It was an easy walk through, although we were constantly being watched. I guess too many people probably try to touch the exhibits.

Nice place to stop in your hike through Plaka. Very friendly personal. You'll see the exact replica of the famous "Venus from Milos" (on exhibit in Louvre, Paris) found here (they call it "Aphrodite from Milos" though). The bus stop is visible from the front square and you can spend some time by playing gigantic chess while waiting for your bus.
Alexander Galkin — Google review
Small museum, not that pricey to see though (2euro each), definitely a welcome stop in Plaka.
The museum doesn’t contextualize the history that much. The selection is mostly vases and clay drinking vessels. There are some more interesting pieces though like a few early pottery pieces representing bulls. I learned about the psi/phi/tau shapes of early depictions of people.
When we visited they had a modern art selection that was inspired from the ancient art, I liked that a lot.

This is a very small historical museum that houses the finds of art and cultural pieces of history discovered on the island. Here you could see replica of the very famous Aphrodite, she was discovered on Milos. Also displays recent art from artists as well.
The Catacombs of Milos are an underground tomb network from the 1st to 5th centuries, featuring Christian symbols. A brief guided tour is recommended, combined with a visit to nearby historical sites including the spot where Aphrodite's statue was discovered, an ancient theatre, and Prophet Elias Holy Chapel atop the mountain. Visitors should wear sunscreen and hats, bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes for walking.
A must short visit to learn about the history of the catacombs in Milos. You will have a short tour with the tour guide and a few other people inside. Small place with two caves were the catacombs are located. It is best to visit in the morning & combine it with a walk in the area to visit the spot of where the statue of Aphrodete was found, the ancient theatre and the little chapel on top of the mountain (Prophet Elias Holy Chapel). There are plenty of nice spots with a view to Κlima and there is a path that you can follow in order to arrive there by foot. Don't forget to wear sunscreen & a hat. Take a lot of water with you and wear sport shoes.

This underground Christian cemetery, dating back to the 1st-5th century AD, is one of the important underground tombs discovered to date. Originally used as a cemetery, the area was also used as a hiding place and place of worship for Christians during the Roman period.
The tombs, where more than 2000 people are estimated to be buried, are very well preserved and very well arranged for visits. It is a place worth visiting and offers its visitors a different experience in a different atmosphere.
There is a reasonable fee of 4€ to visit and they let you in in small groups periodically. The visits consist of a short tour and are accompanied by a guide. Our guide was polite and had a nice tone of explanation. The guide proved that he was knowledgeable about the place he was in with his short and descriptive answers to the questions.

Very cool. A bit of a hike down stone steps to get there. €4 per person, and it's a guided tour. The tour is maybe 15 minutes, and the access to the catacombs is fairly limited. A longer tour/more access would get 5 stars. Would recommend, though, as you also get free access to the Ancient theatre on the cliff.

4 euro entry each in for an English / Greek tour guide. Interesting tour around 10 minutes long but its a little bit expensive for the duration of the tour. Tour guide was nice and informative. The views from here are lovely there is around 150 steps down and then back up to get there.

Worth a stop on your trip to Milos. You buy an entry ticket that includes a guide who talks through the catacomb history. You're only in there for 10-15 minutes, but it was still very interesting. The stairway to the catacombs lends itself to a gorgeous view of Klima, that I could not get over. The replication of Venus de Mylo is on the same street, and the ancient theater is up the road.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were surprised that entry (€4 each) included a guide who was absolutely amazing. It was only two of us so it was like we had our own private tour.

Pretty much well preserved nowadays! Sadly it seems that before they did some damage to it like graffiti and stuff. The guide is very kind and gives you the time to take photos without flash!
