Lake Bled is a stunningly beautiful scenic lake surrounded by mountains and forest, with an island that houses a historic church. The greatest attraction of the lake is its exquisite blue-green color. Mild thermal springs warm the water to a swimmable 22C (72F) from June through August. There are numerous places to rent boats, paddle boards, and take photos of the lake from all around.
Stunning place with a fair bit to do, close to lots of activities as well. Row a boat out, do some swimming, rent a bike and travel out, eat some food and relax, a lovely place to spend a couple of days.

This is an exceptional art of the nature for sure. It is good that I went there during winter because in summer it is packed. Take the small boat to the island and enjoy every moment whilst you are there.

A wonderful place, a fairytale.
If you are in Slovenia or somewhere near, you should go there. Beautiful lake, nice castle and in the middle of the lake you have the only isle that Slovenia has. Only one but magical.

Beautiful scenery, lovely boat ride, nice little wander. We arrived early around 0900 and was much better for photos and for the heat, when we were leaving around 1300 it was much busier and very humid.

Truly one of my favorite places in Slovenia. You need to take the boat to go to the island. It's a wooden boat driven by man power. You just sit there and enjoy the view and the moment. The island is delightful. The church (one of 3000 in Slovenia) is beautiful and if you ring the church bell you get your wish. You can also go the the Church Tower that I skipped as I have a fear of height, my friends did and loved the view. The ice-cream shop has a great selection and I loved the raspberry cheesecake brand.
Truly a must visit

Beautiful lake with amazing blue water. Rather smaller but still fascinating. We have visited it during early spring time with nice sunny weather which was added value. The little island in the middle is very picturesque and ideal for making photos. The best view is from higher point. Recommended.

As majestic and beautiful as it is down in the pictures! This is our second trip and our timing could not have been better! No tourists, no crowds! We visited on a Sunday in February, streets were empty but boats to the island and all attractions were open. Weather was very nice! We enjoyed a great quiet walk all around the lake of 6km path. We took the Pletna to the island, had coffee there, walked around and enjoyed the magnificent scenery! A beautiful and a must see attraction if you have never been. Even in the winter, it is beautiful!

Gorgeous place. Do note that in order to get to the house on the hill, you either need to hike 15 min, walk up the road or take a buggy. The buggy is expensive, so do bring sturdy shoes if you plan you walk all the way up.

Nice scenery but very overrated compared to other lakes . The gondola ride to the island is super expensive ($18 per person ). Better to rent the boat yourself but be careful to not go close to these gondolas as they are ready to charge your 100 euros if you even touch them . The island is nice but again overpriced for a small church with wishing bell and a small bell tower . The bled fort is also overrated .

Life goal retire here. Reminds me of my grandfather’s cabin in the mountains of New York, USA. Ah it was so beautiful. Water really is a blue green color. It’s not camera filtering trick in photos. And you can see straight through it a good 4ft deep. Absolutely amazing scenery. Must visit the island and get ice cream and take photos.

Beautiful lake with a castle (church) at the middle.
There are few beaches around the lake, and you can even rent a Sap, or small boats and reach the castle's island at the middle.
You should really visit this amazing place.

Looks like something out of a fairy tale and is in a very serene setting. It obviously is is a popular vacation destination by virtue of all the nice lodging going around the lake. There is a trail around the lake, but we chose to take a boat to the island, then hike up to the castle. But it into a very big lake and there were people walking and biking around at a leisurely pace. It is every bit as beautiful as all the pictures you have probably seen.

A very picturesque place. You can either go round the lake by foot or car. You need to be there to submerge in its beauty. However you need to park a distance in one of those public carparks.

Photos and videos taken in May 2023. I took a bus from Ljubljana to Bled. The bus ticket was so cheap during the weekend. I bought it from bus ticket office in Ljubljana and paid €2.20 (included 60 cents processing fee). Bus ticket from Bled to Ljubljana was €1.60, bought directly from the driver.
It was raining when I arrived at Bled. Eventhough my pants and shoes were wet from the rain, I was very happy that I visited Bled, beautiful lake with amazing mountains view.
Bled Island is a small, picturesque island that is home to an adorable church and a few other buildings. It can be reached by boat from several lakeside locations, but its best to take a trip out there if you want to capture the island in all its glory.
Bled Island, located in the heart of the stunning Lake Bled in Slovenia, is a must-visit destination for any traveler. This charming island, with its iconic Church of the Assumption and the surrounding emerald-green waters, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. The tradition of ringing the church bell for good luck adds a touch of magic to the experience. I must mention here that the boat ride cost 18 euro and entry fee of the church is 9 euro which seems a bit overpriced to me personally. But, this is a great experience.
Bled Island is a captivating destination that offers a serene and picturesque environment. The boat ride to the island is a delightful experience in itself, providing breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains, aka Julian Alps. The Church of the Assumption is a historical gem, though the climb up the 99 steps can be a bit challenging for some. Overall, Bled Island is a beautiful and tranquil place that leaves a lasting impression.

Worth the row!
We rowed across to the island and spend some time exploring, as well as getting an ice cream. We decided not to visit the church due to the cost and previous reviews, but visiting the island was a good experience itself.

Such an amazing view. When visiting ljubljana, you better passby lake bled for this amazing view. Very picturesque and instagram worthy.
They have boats (manually maneuvered) which are quite expensive (15eur) if you wanna have a quick visit to the lake bled island which hosts a church. The island alone is very small and you can literally finish it within less than 10min. But the important feature you are paying, is the view. Especially if you are into taking shots. If not, then basically nothing to see on the island and just take some good shots around the lake.

Cozy little island. They brought us out with a boat that the guy drove by hand. Amazing.
Bettina Szndr — Google review
The island is very small. There is a small coffee shop and a souvenirs shop. And a church :) We got a motor boat that took us to the island - its' cheaper and quicker than the manual one. We spent 1 hour on the island - had icecream and took some amazing photos.
Roman Lagron — Google review
This is a total let down. There is nothing great on the island. Just an ice cream and coffee shop. Views are better of the island than from it. The pletna boat is a tourist trap at 18 euro a head. It's a rip off. If you don't have Fomo, then avoid this waste of time. Go for a trail instead from where you can see the lake nicely.
Go to the castle and enjoy the view of the island. Much better.

Bled Island is worth a visit but it is a bit of a tourist trap. The fees to enter the church is a bit pricy. The boat ride over is an extra cost but is worth it for a unique experience

If I’m honest, this is a big let down and a rip off to get onto this tiny island for nothing much to see. Spent eur18 to take the boat and another eur12 to go into the church and museum (I saw old posting states price used to be half of that). I’ll not recommend to visit.
Bled Castle is a medieval castle located on an island in Lake Bled, Slovenia. The castle was first mentioned in 1011 as Castellum Veldes and has been rebuilt and restored multiple times over the centuries. Today it is a tourist destination with a museum, restaurant, and wine cellar.
There is an exceptional view over the lake Bled from this castle. I highly recommend to go there if you visit the lake Bled.
There is a road which you can go by car to the castle. But the parking lots are limited. We visited the castle in April and we were lucky to find a parking lot. I think during the summer, it will be very difficult to find places to park the cars.
There is high slip to reach to the castle.
The castle has an entrance fee. The entrance fee for adults is 12 Euros and for seniors and students are cheaper (I think 9 Euros).
There is a honey 🍯 shop. I strongly recommend you to visit the shop. You can find honey with different tastes and flavors.

Castle of Bled is one of the most beautiful place in the world.
You can park near the castle with car, but rarely you can find parking place, because there are usually a lot of people. The other way to come by walk and park near the lake, it’s not so easy too, but fortunately we found a parking place.
The castle is on the top of the hill. You can buy the ticket near the entrance. You can drink coffee or eat something inside the castle, if you want and of course you can buy some gifts in the shop. The view is amazing nice from the castle wall and from bastion. Definitely worth to visit :)

Awesome castle with incredible views of the surrounding and lake Bled below. Highly recommend to start at the bottom on lake Bled with a water activity (Boat or kayak) and then come up to Bled castle to see the view . You can spend quite some time learning about the local history as well as there is a small museum of sorts. Very cool activity and place to visit

Beautiful castle, great and informative museum with a varied exposition ranging from ancient history, geology and fossils to medieval artifacts. Breathtaking views. The walk to the castle was steep but short on mud and stairs. Entrance 15 euro per adult.
The long coffee at the small coffee shop was not good, pretty watery and served in a paper cup.

The Castle is a bit of a hike up the hill, but once you get up there you will get some amazing views of the lake. You get the best views of the entire lake, the island and the surrounding mountains providing all the instagram shots. There is a cafe if you need a drink or something to eat as well.
johnsko Johns — Google review
Very nice and historic castle with unique position. However the magnificent view on lake Bled is the only positive thing you can get for the entrance ticket to castle area. Asking 17 euros for adult is too much for offering so little... Also parking space below castle is expensive with 3 euros per hour. I guess that this place became too commercial.

We had a wonderful time here! The place is not incredibly large, but you cn spend a lot of time. The view is great, you can serve food or just an espresso with some cake. Definitely worth visiting so give yourself some hours to really take in what the castle has to offer.

What a magical place !!! The trek up to this castle is totally worth it for the stunning views of the lake bled you get to see. It's a must visit and if you are not willing to walk uphill it is accessible by car. There is an entrance fee to get in but trust me the views alone are priceless. There is this sweet souvenir shop where they print your name on handmade papers. If not to buy its a cool store to visit.

Amazing views of Bled from all directions when inside the castle. There was only a small line to get in when I went on a weekend in March. Tickets were 11 euro for a student which is fair in my opinion. Parts of the castle that you should definitely make time to stop in to include the cafe (amazing views if you get a good table by the walls, and good to try the traditional Bled cream cake, which is around six euro), the printing press (you can get custom printed items from an old style printing press, like magnets, bookmarks, pictures etc. on home crafted paper), and the upper walkway for amazing views of both the inside of the castle, and of the town and mountains next to the castle through the windows and viewing ports. There is also a gift shop, chapel, small museum, and toilets available in here.

Came here at the end of the peak season. No waiting, very little people in the castle in the afternoon past 15:00. Wonderful views of the lake from the top. Plenty of parking along the way to the castle. Dog friendly, however they can't enter the inside of the castle but can stay around the restaurant.

We chose to drive up in a car hire and park just below the castle. There were a few spaces and reasonable pay and display prices. There is a nice small coffee bar right on the edge of the castle in the courtyard with the amazing views. Quite expensive for a lemonade but you’re paying for the view which we felt was worth it. Worth asking for student discount even if you don’t have a student pass but are at school and over 14.

It's over priced and the staff isn't really kind, they were rude with us, compared with the Ljubljana Castle which is much better and costs 50% less. The view is beautiful but only a few things to see in the castle. There are many nice Castles around Slovenia which worth to see and costs much less!

One of the main attractions in Ljubljana that cannot be missed. There are multiple walkways up to the castle from the old town through the forest. Alternatively there is a funicular or also parking spots available right at the castle gates. Castle courtyard and the restaurants can be accessed without the ticket. Only necessary for the tower platform and the museum. View from the tower is worth the climb up, as you'll get a 360 degree view of the city. Also the snowy mountains in the distance are visible at good weather. The castle itself is very modern renovated, so don't expect a medieval vibe there. Some good restaurants and wine bars located in the castle, as well as some photo galleries.

Fantastic spot, free parking, you can drink some wine in the wine cellar, fantastic views of the lake. Very fun to walk along the various floors and passageways. Not a huge castle, maybe an hour's worth of entertainment. Great museum and a small, functioning, old-fashioned print shop

Oldest castle in Slovenia. It was built in 1011 and that's only a reason to visit. It is well preserved and most part can be visited. Two rooms served a museum with exhibits and one a a gallery featuring local artists. One room is dedicated to printing with a replica of Gutenberg wooden press.
Great views of the lake bled and the island. There is a restaurant where you can sit and enjoy the view

Always wanted to go here. Best moment of my life. The stairs to the top had me breathing like a pregnant cow but it was worth it. There are however, other options to get to the top so you can explore that. You need tickets (which are affordable) to get in and there have audio guide qr codes throughout the castle to help you listen on your phone. An awesome way to wrap my year!

I like how it's looks now, super accurate and cleaned, and people taking care of the castle. It's respectful!
Here is the perfect view on a lake, mountains, and villages around.
Nature makes it unbelievable!
Also here is a small cafe on a territory with good coffee and an amazing view. And a big restaurant inside the castle.
Good and clean toilets and whole territory.
Straža Bled is a small resort that offers picturesque views of the mountains and lake. It is a popular destination for both summer tobogganing and winter downhill skiing. The hill itself is ideal for leisurely walks, with breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the city of Bled, castle, and surrounding landscapes. Visitors can enjoy adrenaline-fueled activities such as sledding or exploring the Adventure Park. Other options include tubing, tuba jumps, or free fall simulators.
Expect to have a lot of fun at this place!
Getting to Straža Bled was a bit tricky as we drove through narrow streets of residential areas and it felt like we were getting lost. Parking area near the entrance was convenient, however it was full at the time of our arrival. Restrooms available at both ends of the cableway.
If you are here only to enjoy the adventure trails and zip lines you have two options to get to the top of the hill - walk or take the cableway - you cannot drive up there as the road is in bad condition and there is no parking at the top of the hill. We also walked the small trail located at the top, which provided nice views of Lake Bled and Bled Castle.
We purchased a combined ticket of the cableway and toboggan ride for 10 EUR - there is a possibility of separate tickets for either cableway (if you only want to go up to the adventure park) or toboggan rides. We were informed that the waiting time for the toboggan was 40 minutes, which was a bit annoying but manageable. The toboggan slide was a lot of fun as you can go full speed without breaking!
Unfortunately the tubing and bag jump was not opened when we visited.
If you have enough time this place deserves a visit! I could spend 3-4 hours here easily!
Visited in April 2022.

The toboggan run is so much fun and it gets up to some pace as well!
It's very popular so you can be waiting a while to get onto the toboggan.
There is a nice bar to have a drink to take in the views whilst waiting though. Great views of Bled lake from the top of the ski slope.

So much fun. Totally worth the money. Not only for children but also adults. The toboggan ride can be really fast since you decide when to brake and slow down. I recommend buying two rides minimum. Partaking in the Bled experience is truly delightful. The organizers exhibit exceptional kindness and assistance in ensuring your safety and comfort. So much fun! A great thing to do for a few hours while visiting Bled! There was a big parking lot and the ticket counter was just a short walk from there. After buying tickets, you wait in line for the ski-type lift to get to the top of the coaster. We were there in August and it took awhile to get into the lift. Once at the top, there’s a gorgeous view of the lake. Our kids (10 and 13) rode alone. Kids 8 and under had to ride with an adult. There’s a camera just before the end so be sure to smile! We bought photo magnets at the end which were very reasonably priced (€3-4 each). A great way to spend a few hours - fun for the whole family!

Mala Osojnica is a vantage point offering breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Bled, accessible via a steep and challenging climb. The location provides an iconic sight that nature enthusiasts will find captivating. While the views of Lake Bled can be admired from various places within the city, this viewpoint offers picturesque scenery that makes for an excellent picture postcard.
Best view of the lake in my opinion. Go as early as possible to avoid the crowd and maybe catch the fog and the play of sunrise light accross the horizon. Accessible through a short hike, comfortable shoes are recommended.

The most perfect hike for a look out to the lake bled. It's not hard and it's about 2 hours. And there are two perfect view points to the lake. At night they light up the castle and church as well that makes it even more beautiful.
Z Baghestani — Google review
The view is 5 stars for sure. The main path is pretty steep, but there is an alternative which is like walking up a stream bed and no fun at all. View is totally worth it, but be careful, especially if it is wet. You can go a little further to Velijka Osojnica, but be aware that the trees won't give you as good a view as at Mala Osojnica.
Lor Pak — Google review
Very nice place for taking a picture of the whole lake because this standing point is at the same straight line with the island and the castle on top the of hill at the far end. If you go there in the early morning or late evening, you will have the best light condition for stunning photos. Remember to take some water with you because some of the paths are kind of steep. On the way to this place, there's another point where you have a broad view of the lake for taking pictures. When you reach this place, you will have a different angle for viewing the entire lake.

Absolutely magical hike. I felt I was in an enchanted forest, climbing to the top, holding on to the exposed roots of the trees. It was like a fairy tale.
The air is so fresh and clean here, the views everywhere you look beautiful, and the silence of the forest peaceful.
I would DEFINITELY encourage you to go on this climb. Note that it's somewhat challenging with some technical routes, especially in the winter when it's slippy with ice. But overall, this hike is doable and rather short. It's worth it for sure.
Alya Al Tareef — Google review
A must-see viewpoint of the lake Bled and its island in the middle. It takes around 30 minutes to get to the very top of the Mala Osojnica viewpoint. If you get there early, there will be very few or no people. You can have the place just for yourself. The hike is moderate, some 200 meter of climbing over 1,3 km. But it is definitely worth the effort. If you come to Bled by car, do not park by the beach. The parking is very expensive there. Instead, go to the Pristava parking palce, it is much cheaper and not far from the start point of the hike. If this review helped you in any way, please give it a like.

The climb was easy, however some parts such as the narrow stairs may not be for those who have a fear of heights. Nonetheless, the view is breathtaking and worth the effort.
Would recommend to bring some snacks as there are benches on the top for you to savour the beauty.

Short, uphill “hike” with a stunning view of the top of Lake Bled. It’s a bit exhausting going up, and the staircase towards the top is rather steep, but overall an easy hike. May be difficult with small children. Tip: continue on about 5 minutes to the left after the metal stairs and bench for the official big viewpoint.

Best view in the area. We went up the harder left route which involved some scrambling, before coming down the easier tourist route. We'll worth the trip up. Took maybe thirty mins up, twenty down. Free
Simon Heffernan — Google review
It takes a bit of an effort to get there, but trust me, it is worth it! The first half can be pretty strenuous, and then you get to a staircase with 87 steps. That is a trip! At the top is your first viewpoint, stop and take some photos, then continue on. The top is about another 15 minutes, and it is spectacular.
Norm Bour -Travel Younger — Google review
Beautiful view but the hike up is not for anyone with mobility issues. I strongly recommend not taking the path on the left side when facing away from the lake and taking the main path on the right. The left path has no stairs and can be very slippery on the steep inclines. The left path also requires a small rock scramble at the top. The right path can also be muddy but there are stairs, hand rails and fences to assist.
M B — Google review
I approached this viewpoint for the north path and didn’t have any of the steps in other photos- perhaps those are the steps with the south approach. I visited in March and it was cloudy and muddy, but okay if you walk slowly. The top there are lots of rocks but when it is steep there is a hand rail to help. My favourite views over lake bled.
Claire Seller — Google review
As a an experienced hiker I would call it of medium difficulty to get up here. The trail is sometimes quite steep, with rocks and roots. The stairs were interesting and well made. Also it was my first hike caring our 5 month old son in a baby carrier. 😅 all in all its well worth to get up here, the view is stunning! 😎 I would even crawl to get up here if must be 😜
Btw no need to buy tickets here, it’s free of charge!

Visited in June. The parking place was at some old hotel that has automatic parking gate and payment. Then there is a bit of walk on the main road. You can than spot the markings leading you to a an easy trail. After about twenty minutes of hike you are greeted with an awe inspiring view of the lake where you can take some great pictures and enjoy the scenery, res a bit on a bench and just contemplate how your life would be wasted not experience this. The lake, the island, the mountains, nature and clouds… it all comes together.

This is a beautiful hike, but be prepared. It can be somewhat demanding physically if you’ve already walked a lot that day, make sure to bring hiking shoes and water. While it won’t take a very long time, I think it only took us about 30 minutes to get up and 30 minutes to get down, it did get hot and this was in mid September.
But the view is absolutely worth it. It is by far the best view of Lake bled, I think that you can find.
If you are scared of heights/narrow stairs, there is a large staircase about 3/4 into the hike. I’m not the biggest fan of these but I just took it slow going up and especially walking back down.
I think that any person can do this above the age of seven. I also saw some dogs on the hike.

Absolutely beautiful view, my favourite in Bled! A must for anyone visiting Slovenia! Hike was ok, bit slippery at times with all the leaves on the ground, but more than doable. It had also rained very badly the night before we went, so probably would be easier if it was drier, takes about 30 mins.
Rebecca Hill — Google review
It is a really nice hike.a super one but demanding due to the altitude gain. The views are really beautiful. A recommended path would be to stay around the lake and walk until the top of the mountain. The cool breeze and the promising views are worth the hike.
The Church of the Assumption, a baroque Catholic church located on an isolated island in Lake Bled, was established during the 17th century. It boasts various frescoes dating back to the 15th century and features a small chapel alongside a gold altar. Although there has been a church on this site since the 9th century, the current structure is from the 17th century.
A beautiful church on Slovenia's only island. You can visit the tower and the toilets with the ticket, too, but the 40 minutes you have if you arrive by pletna boat is barely enough for everything.
Definitely worth a visit, it's a magical place and the highlight of our visit to Bled.
Zoltan Paczona — Google review
Beautiful spot for a walk n explore, if you rent a row boat the mooring is around the back of the island (opposite side of main steps). You can use a drone here and it’s a great place to feed to the ducks so don’t forget the stale bread. Wonderful coffee and gelato shop and plenty of spots to sit.
Kyle Patel — Google review
Very touristy... 18 euro for a 10 minute boat trip, you get 40 minutes on the island, not a minute more. If your mobility isn't good, it might take 10 minutes or more to climb up, so you end up with 10-15 minutes to view the tiny church on the inside, for which they dare to charge another 12 euro. All in all a nice, quick trip, but very commercialized and you are basically hurrying to see anything.
Note, this was outside high season so the number of visitors wasn't very high at all.
The boat trip itself is the highlight and worth it. The church is not particularly special.
The castle at the other side of the lake has great views down onto the lake. You might want to do that instead.
Hans Laros — Google review
This is a beautiful little place to visit so my 3star rating is once there and up the stairs there isn’t really anything else to do it costs money to go up the tower and to ring the wishing bell 🔔 too much really views from the tower ain’t anything special so unless you really wanna pull on the bell and make your wish come true then don’t bother . Nonetheless the row boat out to the island and the whole idea of it and the scenery still makes it a worthwhile trip . Note give the bell a miss and forget the tower but the overall trip out to the island and bk is worth it
Steve Fletcher — Google review
Beautiful church and surroundings, worth a visit! I do agree that it is a bit expensive, but for the money payed you can see inside of the church (ring the bell 3 times to make a wish;), clocktower and museum
simon el sebai — Google review
Very nice view and panorama from here.
A bit expensive all you can buy on this little island in the middle of Bled lake. Only you can access by boat. Of course you can rent a boat, we did, we were four, 20 euro for 1 hour, not too easy but funny and relaxing. You can do it as well. Enjoy it.
Danilo Mazza — Google review
Neat little church on a small island in Lake Bled which can be accessed by personal boat or ferry.
Admission fee seemed a bit much for the interior, as the views of the exterior were more impressive.
Paul Simonik — Google review
So overrated. The crossing by boat cost a lot, then you can visit the church and it costs also a lot. On the island you can only sit and drink or eat overpriced stuff... Definitely not worth going there. Better going on the shore of the lake with the view of the island aligned with the high mountain behind Bled city.
Julien GUYONVARCH — Google review
Cool island with a nice & tiny church. You should wait a bit for the boots 10-20min but it is smooth after🫶
Kriszti?n Heged?s — Google review
It is so exciting to visit this church and panaromic rooftop after a 10 minute boat ride. We had 40 minutes in the island to visit the church. It is 8 euro to ring the bell and visit the rooftop.
The magnificent St. Martin's Parish Church is a beautiful and imposing building, standing proudly atop the Bled skyline. Not only does it look striking from the outside, but its interior is equally as awe-inspiring, containing many beautiful features including an impressive spire. Although it is not currently open to the public, it is well worth checking out if you are ever in the town.
Beautiful church right below bled castle. Wonderful to be able to step in, say a prayer and admire the beautiful church.

Must see, especially when it's dark outside because of the stunning lighting. As a Catholic Church - very strange to see open during late hours; very nice!

One of the most beautiful churches I visited. Its simplicity gave it all.

This place doesn't get anywhere near the he attention of the Maria church but stands out in its own way just as much in my own view.
It is what you hear all day and gives off an amazing feel that is lost through alot of Europe with church bells knowing when to wake up and what the time is all day.
It's a lovely old white church that is kept in great condition and on nice grounds with various other buildings.
Inside is huge and is beautiful and gives off a very spiritual feel that you can't explain, it is free to enter and you won't need to much time but it's a definite place to visit while in bled and in a nice neighbourhood to go for a walk.

Go to the church that was accidentally visited by Bled Castle. The exterior is simple and the interior is solemn~~~

On the way down to the lake, I found a church built on a cliff and climbed up there. The way to the church is a short but rather steep stairway up from the lakeside. It seems that even a car coming from the back can enter. The building has simple white walls on the outside, but inside there is a gorgeous altar, frescoes are drawn on the walls, and the light of the mosaic glass is very beautiful. It was unattended and there was no entrance fee. When I went there, a small child was enjoying the sound of the church and saying hello many times.

St. Martin's Parish Church in Bled is the parish church of the Parish of Bled. A Gothic Revival structure was built from 1903 until 1905 according to plans by the Austrian architect Friedrich von Schmidt, with minor modifications, particularly in regard to internal equipment, by the architect Josip Vancaš.

Pleasant church just a couple of minutes' walk from the walking path round the lake.
Small, but with a few artworks inside, worth a look if you're passing.

Quite a nice church. There should be one last supper fresco portraying Lenin as Judas inside, we missed that only to find out later. (left side near the altar)
The Čebelarstvo Ambrožič - Kralov Med honey farm provides visitors with an informative and insightful experience about the beekeeping process. With knowledgeable and friendly staff, visitors are able to learn about bees and purchase locally made honey products. The tour includes a hands-on experience where visitors can interact with the hives and understand the variety of goods produced by these hardworking insects.
We visited the apiary in July 2020. The host was so passionate and informative about how the whole process works. We learnt a lot about bees and many tips that will go a long way in our understanding. The honey that is available after the event to purchase is awesome as well. THANK YOU

10€ per person for an educational guided tour. The experience was excellent, very thorough and informative. There were plenty of chances to ask questions and take photos of interesting views into the bee keeping.
We enjoyed the gift shop too where all items were very fairly priced. We purchased two of the decorated beehive entrances for 13€ each.

Bled Jezero railway station is a convenient option for travelers due to its proximity to accommodations and the lake. While there are limited trains from Ljubljana, the station's building is elegant and well-maintained. Travelers can check train schedules on the Slovenske Zeleznice website, but it's recommended to bring cash for tickets as online booking may not be reliable. The station offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful mountain views, making it a pleasant stop for visitors.
Very nice railway station.

The train to and from Jesenice were significantly late for both arrival and return.
The train station is rudimentary. No electronic ticket booking machine (yet). No power outlet for public. Very limited seats for the restless and waiting travellers.

Nice station building. Trains are surprisingly usually on time.
How to use:
Go to the Slovenske Zeleznice website, enter where you are going to see if there is a train.
Do not expect this to be accurate if looking more than a week in advance.
Forget booking tickets, just bring cash with you onto the train, as that is the only thing they accept.

Rarely any trains, don't take any card and the nearest cash machine is 40 minutes walk, ticket office is never open. Literally easier to jump on and not pay than buy a ticket

The ticket office is working from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. (as girl in the bar told me). But during that time the cashier will not always be present at a ticket office. Also, it is not possible to buy ticket in advance at the station - you have to buy ticket only in the day of departure.
Gladly, you can buy ticket directly from the conductor on the train.
The Heart of Bled is an observation deck built over the clear waters of the lake, offering stunning views of Bled Castle. The deck features a heart-shaped frame that is popular for taking photos. The water is crystal-clear and provides ample opportunities for activities such as walking, running, swimming, and sunbathing. Although some areas can be crowded, there are always places to enter the water. Renting a paddleboard can enhance the experience even further.
Great point in the center of Bled. You can take a long walk, have a great pictures, enjoy the ride in a boats. Walking zone, very difficult to find a parking, you have to pay anyway and it is time limited.

Great atmosphere on a sunny cold Sunday in January. Live music, nice views, good food around the lake (specially on the streets behind not in the main restaurants right at the lake), also many people. I just thought the church would be a bit bigger but you see it from veery far away and it looks pretty smaller than on pictures.

Wonderful when it is not the tourist season, overcrowded and extremely expensive when it is in season. The parking is ridiculous expensive as high as 2 euros for 30 min. Pedestrian walkways are invaded by electric bicycles and other high speed motorized vehicles although forbidden. The vehicles using the pedestrian roads are extremely dangerous and rude. Although hyper crowded, no one observes mask rules. The boats and food are very expensive and/or poor quality.

They provide assistance with hiking buses, offer free maps and weather forecasts, as well as information on local attractions and reasonably priced souvenirs. Had a wonderful couple of hours here with our 2 year old.
We were the only people there as we arrived just as it opened and on a week day in March. This meant we had a private tour of the 'mini zoo'.
The animals seem well cared for and are mostly rescued from people who can no longer care for them for whatever reason.
Scott Burgoyne — Google review
An interesting little zoo where you will meet many small animals such as snakes, turtles, lizards, spiders, rabbits and many others. What's great about this place is that you get a guide that allows you to not only see the animals, but also get to interact with a lot of them. So if you feel like cuddling, I can highly recommend this place 👍😉

Do not visit this place if you love animals!
This place has bad husbandry. Some animals have large enclosures, while others are co-habited on no space at all. However, all of the enclosures are unhygenic. Some leopard geckos are close to starvation, and some of the arboreal species have little height and can easily burn themselves on the halogen bulbs.. many animals do not have any heating. One of the chameleons has clearly visible mouth rot.

We came in late during a rainy day off season, and were the only ones there for most of the time. Nika (the owner) pretty much gave us a private tour, and explained in great detail about every animal, while Wilma the cat jumped around exhibit terrariums
The animals are clearly very well taken care of, and this small private zoo really is wonderful.
Unlike most zoos that have reptiles, she opened terrariums and let us take pictures of some of the animals, which is amazing since photography through glass is very problematic.
thank you for a wonderful time, and please give our regards to Wilma the cat
