The Michal More Carnegie Birthplace Museum is a welcoming and safe museum that is dedicated to the life and work of the renowned philanthropist, Michal More Carnegie. The museum has a great variety of items which are interesting and informative, making it a great place to visit for anyone interested in learning more about Carnegie. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, making it a great place to visit regardless of your background knowledge or interest in Carnegie.
we were welcomed into the museum warmly and immediately noticed how careful and safe the museum is with covid standards. Beth, who greeted us, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. the museum itself was super interesting and had a wide variety which surprised us because it doesn't look as big from the outside. would definitely visit again, there is plenty to read and look at for at least two hours.

A very interesting story about a very interesting man. Everything is well presented and described. It's easy to hit and, what's also important, absolutely free. Worth a visit and leave a few pounds just like that as a souvenir.

A lovely museum with a beautiful, passionate staff member. You get a glimpse of Andrew Carnegie's humble Scottish origins as the son of a weaver, where his family lived in a single room above their looms, as well as his education and upbringing and moral principles that guided his life, thereof his motto: Let there be light. Let Natalia talk your ear off about the man, you'll learn a lot!

We are traveling from the U.S.A. and saw this place on Google Maps and decided to stop there. It was worth the visit. We learned so much about Andrew Carnegie, who was very well known in America. I did notice that his name is pronounced differently than in the U.S.

An interesting little museum dedicated to a man I had never heard of, but who clearly deserves more recognition for his works and achievements. If you find yourself in the fine city of Dunfermline you should go and seek out this museum and learn about him too.

Amazing, one of the best museums I've been to. Walking into the cottage gives you a real feeling of understanding. Easy to understand explanations both in writing and spoken out if needed. Lovely hall after to look at different history. Very helpful staff to answer any questions, she could answer almost anything we asked her. Plus nice clean toilets. Can't praise the place enough. We come here every time we stay in Scotland.

Wonderful little museum in the birthplace of Andrew Carnegie. It was amazing to see how much good he did around the world through parks, libraries, performance halls, and more.
Andrew Carnegie’s father was a weaver and they have a working jacquard loom in the house. The part of the house where the family lived is restored to period furniture and personal effects of the family.
The second part of the museum has Carnegie’s life after he left for America, how he effected the world and on-going legacy. There are many artefacts and things from his life in this part of the museum as well.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable with an enthusiasm for what they do working there.
The middle room is a wee café and there is also a wee gift shop.
If you’re interested in learning and the life and times of Andrew Carnegie, we recommend a visit. Check the hours to make sure it is open before you go. It was closed the first time we went. There’s no charge for admission.

Pittencrieff Park is a well-loved public park located in Dunfermline, Fife. It features extensive walking paths and a playground, as well as a peacock enclosure. The park is popular with locals and visitors alike, who enjoy the beauty of its landscapes as well as the attractions available.
A great place to have a good 2hr wander. Loads to see and the wild life is tame. Squirrels a plenty.
The play areas look good for kids.
The car park is free (at the time of writing).
Thoroughly pleasant area.

I'm from Wales, this park is one of the most beautiful places I've been to. We spent all day here just walking round, children playing in the parks. The peafowl/peacock sanctuary was nice, lovely to see that they were allowed to roam around the park. The glass buildings were cool, seeing the different types of plants and fish. If i come back to Fife this park is definitely on my list to visit again. The parking was free.

The most beautiful inner city park I have been to so far! Went for an evening walk with my husband and the park is huge! There's a really nice balance of activities to do there mixed with the wildlife. The squirrels are all really approachable and friendly too which was really cool.

Very nice place to visit, for people and kids of all ages,
There are many trails to choose from and many beautiful spots to rest.
It is better to come in the late morning since some of the attractions close early.
The whole park is full of cute squirrels and nice birds.
Definitely recommend visiting. .

This is a wonderful, magical, charming park. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We walked around after we took a tour of the Abbey.

Visited on a very windy day, and for the most part the trees and valleys kept it at bay.
Several tarmacked paths wind their way
throughout the park, it was pleasantly quiet, bird song was a constant companion, friendly dog walkers and the stalking squirrels are to be enjoyed too.
The grounds are immaculate.
Wish I had had more time to get acquainted with the greenhouse and missed out on seeing the peacocks too.
Want to know more, see it for yourselves, you won't be disappointed.

I've always found Pittencrieff Park a fantastic place. From the impressive entrance at Bridge Street/glen gates which walks you directly up to the Andrew Carnegie statue, you can select your route via several paths to witness many scenic sights. The slightly steep uphill walk to the Abbey is nice as you have the historic abbey in front - this is a must see place! It is definitely a place to visit - I don't think there are many parks which can complete with the history of Pittencrief Park

New to the area and never really explored the park properly. It's beautiful! Lovingly looked after with so much space . Perfect for young and old or for just walking in the sunshine . Also met a few locals...the peacocks 🦚

What a beautiful place this is, for all age groups. Magnificent trees, fabulous flowers, lots of nooks, and crannies to play with the little ones. Toilets available. Good little cafe. Great scenery from the park over the surrounding area. Lots of history, too.A jewel in the town of Dunfermline . Put it on your list of places to visit.

Delightful park with well maintained gardens and greenhouse. Lovely walks through the grounds with views of the Forth Bridges and the park is famous for its free roaming peacocks. Further walks down by the burn with places to explore for children. Free parking near the children's playpark.

Donated to the children of Dunfermline by Andrew Carnegie, this is a wonderful place for a walk, a talk, a family outing, a read of a book or some solitude. Pittencrief Park offers it all.
A great place to take kids, family and friends or to walk the dog.
The Friends of Pittencrief Park keep the park well maintained. The locals and visitors alike respect the work that goes into making the park the stunningly beautiful place that it is.
Litter is a rarity. The bins are emptied every day. A sign that the visitors, young and old, care for and appreciate the beauty of this special place.
There are three playground facilities for the children. Two located at the top park. One for the older age group, another for the smaller children and the disabled. The third is located down by the Glen gates. All three have age appropriate playing equipment. It's heartwarming to hear the chatting and laughter of the children as you walk by.
The peacocks roam freely and are a constant attraction to visitors as are the grey squirrels that also run around freely.
The Peacock Restaurant, with its veranda glass terracing, offers views across the park. Meals and snacks are available. Dogs are allowed, but understandably, on the terracing only (unless guid dogs).
The restaurant prices are reasonable, but, for a family, they may prove to be out of reach. However, there are tables and seating in the playground area that allow for a good old fashioned picnic.
There is much more to experience in Pittencrief Park. I would highly recommend this as a must place to go when visiting Dunfermline.
Well worth a visit!

Love this place! The teen drive experience was an amazing day for my son. I have booked the teen drive 2 for his next birthday and I'll do the same for my daughter when she is older. I think it's as important as swimming lessons these days. Get them behind the wheel early. The staff are so professional, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly too.

Went to Knockhill for the first time to watch bsb.
Getting in was a nightmare (hence the 4 stars). I had pre ordered online so scanning a qr code took 10 seconds. Others in the same queue were paying at the gate and card payments took over 30 seconds and up to a minute each time.
Poor organisation here - please knockhill - two queues are needed - one for pre paid and one for pay on the day.
Once parked the rest of the day was awesome - great track, great views.

On the way back from church I saw knockhill was open. I thought I'd pop in just to get some more information. Ended up speaking to the security guy at the gate who said you can pop in and have a look around. We're not charging now cuz it's becoming the end of day. Ended up staying for just over an hour. Watched some excellent car racing. My son loved it. My daughter loved it. Absolutely fantastic afternoon would highly recommend. Really friendly People I don't mind you looking at their race cars really knowledgeable. Highly recommend it

I took the boys here to try out the go karts, and they absolutely loved it. We had great weather which helps when you're on an outdoor track. I got a special offer near Xmas time, so it wasn't too bad in terms of the price.
There are always a few supercars sitting about at knockhill, which the boys love so good photo opportunities.
They want to go back which shows how much they enjoyed it.

The venue and toilets are a little run down. But my god, what a piece of 1.2 mile tarmac that runs around it. Viewing is up there with the very best in Britain (and I've been to almost all of them). I like the simple wooden benches that surround the circuit

Attending the BTCC weekend, and having visited all the circuits on the calendar, Knockhill remains the best.
The short circuit means that you see a lot more racing, and the day is packed with action, driver events, and you get right into the action in the paddock, beside the drivers, teams and cars.
The staff are always smiling and helpful, though camping noise needs clamped down better. Nevertheless, I can’t possibly give less than 5 Stars, and definitely recommended!

Went to Knockhill today for the Legends experience. What an absolute blast! It’s certainly going to be a day to remember! Hot Lap with the legend that is Gordon Shedden! What an experience that was in its own! Thanks again Gordon awesome driving! The staff were great, the facilities were great too! For anyone thinking about it, don’t just do it! Would recommend the legends experience! If your a driver you’ll be impressed! Go for it! Five stars Knockhill!

Our first visit to Knockhill was to watch the BTRDA Rallycross Championship.
This is such a querky cool track, with stunning scenery. You can see almost all of the track regardless of where you're viewing it from!
The staff all around the circuit are incredibly friendly, especially in the Knockhill Store. A massive credit to them.
We have already planned out next visit at Knockhill
Dunfermline Abbey is a magnificent Romanesque structure with extensive ruins and mausoleums of Scottish kings and queens. The beauty of the abbey lies in its stunning stained glass windows and rich history, including its connection to King Robert Bruce who rests within its walls. Visitors are encouraged to seek out the two spiders during their visit. The abbey's old and new sections offer fascinating insight into its past.
A beautiful abbey, stunning views and a lovely walk round about the town. Some free parking just down from it. Well worth a visit in the area, especially in the crisp morning air.

What an absolutely magnificent Abbey!! It's clean and comfortable to walk around the adjoining gardens. I have been back several times and cannot get enough of this splendour. The Dunfermline Council keeps this place as clean as a whistle and it's such a pleasure being around all the beauty.

Free to enter (but you need to go to the gatehouse to get your free ticket) . Great ruins and cathedral. Architecture is stunning and is topped off with some great tombs , especially the one of Robert the Bruce. Also look out for the plastercadt of his skull !! There are plenty of small car parks nearby but it can get busy, especially with school trips. A must see if your this way

I was looking for somewhere to take our visitors and decided to go to the Abbey. It was certainly a good choice the Abbey has the most beautiful stained glass windows and the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Very interesting and the connection with King Robert Bruce his final resting place makes it even more special. If visiting then try and find the two spiders 🕷

I had to pinch myself to make sure I was actually at Dunfermline Abbey! The Abbey is majestic and I was a bit awestruck to even be there. Bruce is my maiden name and Dunfermline was my number one place I had on my to visit list while in Scotland. I didn't want to leave it was so beautiful! The history of the old and new Abbey is fascinating.

Great historical place if you want an important landmark in Scotland's history. Some of the early kind and queens are buried here along with Robert the Bruce. The gardens are beautiful to walk through and will be even better in the summer.

A significant part of history that is worth visiting. You can visit the abbey, the surroundings and the graveyard while you are here. The old world charm is definitely reflecting on everything that’s here. The architecture, the history and the significance of this Abbey around the history of Edinburgh is interesting to learn.

At time of going, 14-07-21, the Palace was closed due to social distancing rules as such temporary sign posts for the Abbey entrance are few and far between but eventually we found the entrance and it is a lovely, historical building indeed. Burial grounds of some of Scotland's Royal family most notably Robert the Bruce. Great experience

My brother and I visited the Abbey for the first time, we were greeted by Paula Ann who we had a great conversation with, Paula was willing to answer all our questions and recommended different destinations to learn more about Scottish history. My brother and I very much appreciated the long conversation we had that made this trip that bit more memorable 😊
