The new Telford Exotic Zoo has a wide variety of animals from all over the world, with a particular focus on conservation. The zoo is open daily from 10am to 5pm, and is perfect for families with children aged 4+.
Had a fox experience today, which was my moms Xmas present off me, so 4 of us went, had such a lovely day, Yogi & Freya the foxes were amazing, their handler Ryan was great, very friendly. The lady on front desk was really polite an friendly also, well actually every worker we spoke to or passed was all lovely an friendly. Plenty of animals, plenty of fusses an strokes. Most animals are rescues. They are always expanding an updating the zoo for the benefit of the animals. We will definitely be going back again x

Brilliant town zoo. Not huge, but animals appear well cared for and enclosures are a good size. We did an armadillo experience and was extremely happy with the whole experience, Sam was very knowledgeable, took time to answer questions and clearly cares for the animals (even allowed by husband and 2 year old to join in with feeding the big armadillo which made the experience so much better). Animals all seemed happy and were active. The cafe is beautifully decorated (with animals which toddler loved!) and food/drinks were great value and good quality. All staff we met were helpful, chatty and smiling. Overall, would highly recommend.

Had an amazing day today at the zoo. We booked in for the capybara experience and the cold blooded experience. The zoo alone was worth the movie but the experiences were brilliant and Jack was fabulous! Can't wait to come back again!

For a small little wildlife park, we had a lovely few hours! The staff were very friendly and at the time of our visit they had some snakes out of their cages, 1 of which you were able to touch. My little ones absolutely loved it! They also enjoyed feeding some the animals, the goats were a big hit! There is a good range of animals to see, all of which were milling about in their enclosures or you could see them in their houses. The paths in parts were muddy, which is to be expected after the wet weather we've been having. Just make sure you've got sensible footwear on! The small dinosaur museum on site was interesting and the kids enjoyed having a look around. Overall, we had great time at the Exotic Zoo!

Moved location and recently opened. All nice and clean, great location and surroundings. Animals look well cared for and staff are very informative and friendly. Lovely touch that they allow you to get up close and even touch some of the animals. However I did feel that during this time visitor numbers need reducing. I felt very claustrophobic and anxious due to the amount of people considering the actual place is relatively small even though it's mainly all outside. I think also having people to queue up in turn to see and touch the animals close up would be a great idea. You feel you have to just jump in quick otherwise waiting patiently for your turn just gets ignored. I would of loved to have stayed longer but because of all the people I felt like I couldn't wait to leave. It's great value for money and I do really want to come back again but I think I'll wait until everything and everyone has calmed down.

Absolutely one of the best days out I have ever experienced. This zoo is such a hidden gem. My boyfriend and I went today for the Lemur experience, which was a birthday present. We were both just over the moon. We got a whole box of sliced up banana and dried fruits to give to them. They were so adorable taking it from our hands and climbing over us. So soft too! Never imagined a lemur to be as soft. The zoo keeper that came in with us was also so lovely, answered any questions we had and also told us in general about the lemurs, how long they had them and what they are like.
After our experience we spent a couple more hours walking around the zoo. It is a pretty small place, but I think for me that made it so much better. There are zoo keepers all around, and regular feedings so that you can learn about the animals and watch them as they scramble around for their food - so very cute! It was like having a personalised tour around the place, but it was just for everyone to experience!
Would absolutely love to come back here again for one of the other experiences they hold. You can really tell how happy the animals are, and how much the keepers care about them. 10/10 recommend!!

We booked the VIP Family Experience and we were not disappointed. On arriving we were given a list of the animals we could choose from to take around with us. We explored the zoo and had lots of fun and interactions before we even got to start our experience. There were lots of staff around, providing talks and chances to meet various animals. We’d had a great visit before our experience even started. All the enclosures looked amazing and enriching and the whole place was clean, and tidy, even the toilets lol.
Later we met with Sam, who took our list of choices and once we started she gathered lots of food for us to feed the different animals. She gave us a fantastic experience. She has a great personality and gave us lots of information and interaction with each animal and answered our many questions. She never rushed us and we felt we had a good amount of time with every animal we met. We were able to get lots of photo opportunities and had so much fun even with being rained on at times. This was such an amazing experience and definitely worth every penny. I would highly recommend visiting and if you can stretch to get one of the experiences, you will not be disappointed.
Big thanks to all the staff at Exotic Zoo who made this a great day and a massive thank you to Sam who was absolutely awesome!!!

Visited here for the first time with my partner on Monday. It was a really nice experience, it is a very small yet great zoo, friendly staff and a surprising amount to look at considering the size. The animals have lots of space to roam about - not at all cramped together. A very well looked after zoo.

Lovely hidden little gem. Really enjoyed our visit got to see and pet the animals. Worth the £6 entry and looks lovely. Staff were friendly and informative. Only downfall would be the limited parking spaces available. But overall a fab experience and will definitely return

Had a lovely visit out over the jubilee weekend. You can see they are still expanding and the enclosures and exhibits already in place are brilliant. The animals are adorable and staff so friendly. Especially love Edwina the tortoise and the Marmosets, so inquisitive. Would recommend for sure.

Great zoo. We done the lemur experience and it was definitely worth it. Got to sit down, stroke and feed the lemurs. Sam lead the experience and was very friendly and knowledgeable. You can definitely tell that she enjoys what she does. She really did make the experience even more worth while than it already was! We also watched her feed the otters, and again, Sam was so sooo knowledgeable.
Overall, it is a great zoo, that is great value for money, with great zookeepers, and lots of interesting animals to see.

We had an amazing day here today.
We booked an Armadillo experience & Sinead was great. She was really knowledgeable, taught us a lot & answered all our stupid questions. We got to hold Melon & stroke the aggressive Woody before getting to feed Doris who was great. Great experience & then there was the rest of the zoo to see.
Great place with friendly & knowledgeable staff.
I’ll be back to meet the Capybaras!

My husband and I were given an experience here, so I can't comment on the price.
The zoo is quite small, although bigger than I thought it might be. There are lots of different animals, many I'd never seen before, and one or two I'd not even heard of! It took us about 45 minutes to wander around all of the enclosures. I think we went at a good time - mid-March, mid-week, midday, and outside of school holidays!
The experience we had was with armadillos. It was a gift through Redletter Days. We could choose our preferred day and time with the zoo, communicating by email.
The experience with the armadillos was amazing. I love most animals, but armadillos had never really been one I'd be crazy about seeing. After this experience, I may have changed my mind! They were so lovely. We got to hold a 3-banded atmadillo and feed the two 6-banded armadillos. They were much more adorable than I'd imagined. The young man (Jack) who led the experience was very lovely. He made the experience fun, interesting, and informative.
The Jungle Cafe was nice. I find many zoo cafes aren't up to much, but this one was. It was clean and spacious, drinks and snacks were fairly reasonably priced, and the people were also lovely.
The zoo is a little out of the way. We got to Telford on public transport, then a taxi from Telford Station. The taxi driver said he didn't know this zoo existed! We did walk back to the station, which took about 25 minutes.
The zoo itself has quite good accessibility in most areas as it is level with wide walking areas. It does get muddy, though. Anywhere that isn't flat is accessible by ramps.
If it wasn't for taking well over 2 hours to get there from where I live, it'd certainly be somewhere I'd visit more often in the future!

Amazing place. Me and my boyfriend went to a capybara experience, jack was very lovely. We got to feed the capybaras and pet them and the zookeeper jack answered all our questions. Would recommend to everyone, we even got to hold chicks and pet rabbits. 10/10 would go back again

Absolutely amazing find this zoo! We spent a few hours here and we enjoyed it more than some of the bigger zoos. Loved the enclosures, and the animals were all out and about which makes a change from not seeing anything at other zoos. The staff were lovely and knowledgeable and were more than happy to chat to us about the animals and how it all got started. A huge plus is that you can buy food to feed some of the animals! An absolute bargain! A must for kids (both little and big). If we're ever down this way again we will certainly bob in for another nosey. Thankyou to the superb staff for such an excellent experience!

Thank you to the lovely Jack and team for our Capybara experience today!
We had such a lovely experience and for £55 it's such a bargain for a child who loves the capy! Such lovely gentle giants!
We will hopefully come again to see Smudge&Brenda!

Amazing little place. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff who are so happy to talk to you about the animals. Lots of different critters to see and because it is not a huge place and the way the enclosure's are set up you feel like you're really up close and personal. There's also lots of talks and animals out to see, you can feed the goats and miniature horse and my daughter was able to hold a snake and we got to stroke a not hedgehog (I can't remember what it was called but it came from Madagascar and was more closely related to an elephant apparently!) would definitely recommend and will be going again!

We went for the Armadillo experience and it was wonderful! The lady that told us all about them clearly is passionate about all the animals. We also noticed just how friendly the rest of the staff were. Everyone we passed gave us a cheery hello and whilst in the Rainforest building the staff were chatting to us about the animals. Wonderful place and I can't wait to take the children there when the weather is better 😊

We had a person called Sam for our experience. She was really good and explained all the facts about the animals and their background. She was really good with the animals, and patient with the children. She offered an alternative animal not on the option list as one we picked was not available. We had a great time today and recommend going here as its a great family day. The zoo itself was really great and had lots of animals to explore, plus the extra cold blooded experience finished the day perfectly. Thankyou to Sam and all the staff.

Absolutely wonderful little outing here. All staff so warm, friendly, welcoming and informative. A lovely selection of well looked after exotic animals to see and a chance to feed a couple with a little £1 bag feed was fun. Gift store was fairly priced with lots of lovely little take away items and the food at the cafe for a quick energy boost was reasonable with fantastic theming. I would go again. Worth the price.
The Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom is a family-focused zoo with animals from meerkats to farmyard favourites, while Dinosaur World is a small zoo featuring dinosaurs. Both are great for food, staff and animals and would make an excellent tourist attraction.
Received a 'Meet the Meerkats' voucher as a gift and was not disappointed! There are 3 different enclosures to visit with the meerkats so you can see and learn about the different habitats. You get to feed most of them whilst there and the animals have a great time using you as a climbing frame! The staff were extremely knowledgeable, respectful of all the animals and answered all our questions. There are lots of other animals to see and feeds. Would highly recommend for all ages!

The signs for parking were a bit confusing and the food options are quite limited, but everything else was great. The dinos are great, most of the animals were easy to spot, the play area is big and there were plenty of benches available. The kids had a great time, and want to go back already. A great place for the price

Myself and my 21 year old daughter went for an experience day, and we weren't disappointed.
We met and fed Lemurs, meerkats, and a cerval. The staff were lovely and very knowledgeable, they could answer all of our questions.
The animal enclosures were all very clean, and you could tell the animals were all extremely well looked after.

A mixture between a farm, a zoo and a dinosaur experience. Lots of opportunities for children to feed and pet animals. The keepers are so happy to talk about the animals here. There are lots of wild cats not normally found in zoos. A lot of the animals have been rescued.
We did a carnivore experience, giving us more insight into the background of what goes on and the opportunity to hold or feed some of the animals.

Had a really good day out. Nicely laid out and we saw most of the resident animals which is something you don't always get at larger zoos. Spent 6 hours here with my daughter and granddaughter who played for quite a while on the well equipped playground and we enjoyed a picnic that we brought with us at the tables provided.

Had the most amazing time with my son today. The zoo is lovely and the experience was superb, loved the lemurs.
Laughed so much trying to look scared at the dinosaurs and took some fantastic photos.
It's a great little zoo and so worth the visit, definitely coming back next year with my little niece and nephew ❤️

Brought my 10 year old daughter the carnivore experience for Christmas and we went today. Absolutely fantastic day and some lovely memories made. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond. Grace our keeper was a font of knowledge, patient, kind and encouraging to my daughter when she was a little wary and great with all the animals. A good number of the animals were rescued. We loved the cheeky otters, lemurs and different owls and cats. The experience itself involved handling a Burmese python, owl, feeding foxes (either arctic or red foxes) and spending time in with a serval cat.

Lovely afternoon out here on a day that had started rainy so it was very quiet. It was bigger than expected with quite a large selection of animals and it was heaven for my daughter who loves foxes and big cats (the biggest here being lynx). We saw others taking part in an experience which we'll definitely do in the future. Some of the enclosures are on the small side but the animals all looked to be in good health. Another review described this place as 'rustic' and I think that hits the nail on the head! In our afternoon there we didn't have as much time as we'd have liked but we did just about get round the animals and Dinosaur wood, I'd say you could easily spend the full day here. The playground areas were fab. We didn't do any of the paid activities as they were largely closed due to the weather and we couldn't do the wallaby or lemur walks either so we'll be back when the weather is better to do the things we missed. Wellies recommended if it's been raining as it is very muddy in places. The intercom/loudspeaker system was very crackly on our visit and we couldn't hear properly what was being said - this may have been down to the weather. Staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. All in all a great day out and we are looking forward to returning!

Wonderful day out for all. Not as big as the other zoos but definitely great value for money. All of the staff are really knowledgeable with a clear love for their jobs. Animals are well cared for with well maintained enclosures. I would recommend the experiences that they provide - excellent value for money and a really memorable experience.

I love this place! I'd go 100 times over, the money goes towards the conservation of these beautiful creatures too. Went with my grandma, aunty and child.
They also had incredible food in the cafe, had jacket potato beans and cheese was delightful, whilst the child played on the playground.
They had a huge bouncy pillow too, both adults and children can enjoy together ❤️
Go here! You will not regret it.

We went as a couple as we love animals but it's more suited for families. Had a really amazing time though despite this. The animatronic dinosaurs were much more impressive than we thought they would be and we managed to see just about all of the animals! Posted a good few pictures for the review. For families we noticed they have soft play, buggy storage and other activities and you can also buy animal feed for £3 and feed some of the animals too. There's also a cafe which is priced fairly and a gift shop.

A great day out!
The walk-through Ring-tailed Lemur enclosure is worth the price of admission alone. I visited on 3rd June 2023 and was lucky enough to see a mother Lemur carrying 2 babies.
A member of staff told me that the walk-through enclosure is only open during school holidays and weekends, so be sure to check before going if this is something you're interested in. For me, it made the visit.
If you want to save a bit of money, be sure to order online and check for any concessions you may be eligible for.

Really amazing place for all ages. It's a lot bigger than it looks as well. Plenty of animals you can feed, plus we did an experience to meet the carnivores which was hosted by keeper Connor. Absolutely fantastic, super knowledgeable, and all the animals we got to meet were great!!

Charming small zoo with an interesting wide range of animals, and also dinosaurs! We enjoyed a zookeeper experience which was well worth the price, and staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Little cafe on site serving hot food was a lovely addition to our day as it rained, but still had a lovely time.

Great place for families of all ages. Animals well looked after. Children's area to feed and interact with the animal. Food can be purchased at the entrance at £3, the tub is a reasonable size. Undercover eating areas is a bonus. Great play area with different sized play equipment. Plenty of parking just drive slow and a good helping of uneven potholes. Dinosaur area a defient must for Dino enthusiasts, noisey though so be careful with very young children.

A great find for a family day trip. We stopped here en route to a holiday. Dinosaur world is fabulous, plenty of huge dinosaur models for all ages. Lots of signs with facts and some links to Jurassic park films. The play area entertained our children for ages, particularly the jumping pillow. Plenty of picnic tables if you want to take your own food. A little cafe there with snacks, treats and some hot food such as burgers and hit dogs. The animals are fun to see also. Lots of birds, some adorable deer, and varieties of cat. When we visited there were baby meerkat. We enjoyed feeding sheep and goats. The highlight is the lemur walk where you can get very close to the happy ring tailed lemurs. Tips, buy tickets online for a saving and wear wellies as understandably given recent rain it is muddy.

I was so impressed with Hoo zoo. We went on a busy Saturday, having booked at short notice and it was so good. Just about every exhibit is great and very well thought out. There are some really some good talks through the day and you really get a sense of how much the keepers care about the animals.
The site is wheelchair and pushchair friendly though I would say that when we went the site was extremely muddy after a spell of heavy rain and this could cause some problems.
If you visit the lemur enclosure make sure you go around a few times. They can be a bit skittish at first but when they get used to you they will all appear and it is magical. Be careful not to bring any food because they will have it off you, even it's in your pockets. This happened to me so be careful 😂
The childrens play area is really well appointed too. There are several large areas that include a sandpit, a trampoline and a pirate ship. There's a zipwire too.
It was really pretty expensive compared to other similar places but I would say that it was worth it. The site is filled with things to do and we could easily have spent several more hours there. I can't recommend Hoo zoo enough.

The lovely cat near the entrance was very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed a delicious jacket potato meal and great coffee from the cafe, there are picnic tables to sit outside. Hand wash stations available around the farm. Enjoyed helping the keeper feed some of the animals and hearing about them. Wear wellies/walking boots if it has been wet for a few days! Limited parking by entrance but there is an overflow car park.

Telford Town Park is a large, family-friendly park with a range of activities to enjoy, including an aerial ropes course and five play areas for kids. The park also has an adventure mini-golf course, cycle centre, fishing pools and visitor centre with cafe. Along with its sensory garden, formal flower gardens, bandstand and 62 hectare Local Nature Reserve, the park is a great place to spend a afternoon or afternoon out.
I grew up in the town, so know it very well.
Telford Town Park is acknowledged as one of the best for entertainment, features and great for family and kids, not just in the West Midlands, but nationally.
It has Green Flag recognition six years running, which is a mark of quality. It's not a sales line, it's a statement of fact, but if you think Iam biased, visit for yourself.
The park has at least two duck ponds, climbing frames, climbing bouncy tight ropes etc
It's open from early up to 8/9pm Monday to Saturday. Closed slightly earlier Sunday.
It's right next to Telford Town Centre with plenty of different shops to buy from and walk through several acres of scenic park landscape.
Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Had a great day on my Diesel Experience driving up and down the line in my "little" 52 tonne Class 08 locomotive. None of the volunteer staff could have been more friendly, knowledgeable or enthusiastic and really added to the day. Everything from the the breakfast bap through the model railway to the driving the train itself along the very picturesque line was first rate. An excellent experience that both my partner and I will remember for a very long time.

We visited here for the polar express experience and had the most fantastic time.
Everything about the experience was streamlined and perfectly organised and to top it off, it was 'the best Christmas experience' we have ever done.
Tickets and letter with instructions arrived in the post with plenty of time. Directions to the park and ride were clear. We arrived in good time and were able to get onto the bus for transfers to the train station. Here we were greeted by staff who explained the agenda. There was some hot food available to buy, hot drinks also. Extra toilets too so not much queuing.
There is a model railway to enjoy along with some entertainment in a marquee to entertain in the run up to the train ride.
Once called up to get on board, we headed down onto the platform where staff were great in character whilst ensuring safety around the track in the dark!
Carriages were set out clearly which made waiting in the correct place easy to find.
The performance began and my children- and me- were mesmerised! On the train everything was delivered with such enthusiasm and enjoyment. It was magical. We are glad we paid for the full experience with gift and bag for our first time but would perhaps not next time.
It followed the story brilliantly, the little girl singing was fab and chef tinsel, particularly, was incredibly friendly- but so was everyone from the bus driver to the conductor! We had such a blast!🚂🎅🎄

A small but a well run heritage railway, they do lots for children and they have the polar express again this year, please give them a visit and enjoy a lovely day.

Visited here for the Polar Express with 2 families. Overall we really enjoyed it. The park and ride is effortless - and drops you right at the attraction.
The initial waiting when they ask you to arrive before your train is fine initially - you can view the model railway, view a short screening and then pop to the loo.
The food and drink is over priced for what it is (chips and instant coffee) but it is what it is. They always make money here. So if I were you I'd bring some snacks if the kids are likely to be hungry.
The train ride itself was fantastic. The kids and adults had fun. Hot chocolate on the train was lovely, the cookie decent and the Santa experience was nice too.
Gift shop prices - as expected are a bit steep and you can get the same "official" merch cheaper online by about 20% - so do check if money is tight.
Other than Lapland UK this has been one of our favourites for Christmas.

We visited for the Fish n Chips Saturday Special and we had a wonderful time.
There were five of us in our party, we all thoroughly enjoyed the food (piping hot and good portions, exactly what we ordered).
Drinks and chocolate were available throughout the journey at a reasonable price.
The staff were all really friendly throughout the experience and we'd happily come again for another event. Very well priced as well
