The Black Tower is a 16th-century tower that offers visitors the opportunity to climb 225 steps for panoramic views of the city. The entrance fee, payable at the top, is only 30 CZK. The tower provides beautiful 360-degree views of the city, including distant landmarks like Hluboka Castle and a nuclear power plant.
The place is very nice
The views are great and the price isn’t that bad for a city center
In all the tower is worth your time

No visitor to the city of Budweis should miss the opportunity to visit one of its most prominent landmarks – I'm talking about the Black Tower. It was built during the years 1550–1577 as a symbol of the city's economic prosperity at the time. Under the guidance of Italian architects, the tower reached an impressive height of 72.25 meters. Admission is 60 Czech Crowns and must be paid at the top. If you're reasonably fit and not afraid of heights, you should definitely climb to the top for a splendid view of the beautiful city of Budweis. Please be aware that the tower is closed on Mondays.

Really good views from this old tower. Prepare to walk a little bit hard stairs (maybe 150) to get to the top, but it is worth it! There is also a small museum upstairs.
Teemu Kuuskoski — Google review
The supervisor told us that between 60 and 140 people fell to their deaths from this tower. Today. It is pretty high, and a steep climb. The view is well worth it. Unless you have an acute fear of depths, or they decide to test the disaster alarm claxons while you're up there.

After walking 225 steps there is a great view waiting for you with a great amazing mechanical clock. Also a souvenir shop. Clean view spaces.
A must visit place in Ceske Budejovice.

It's a good place to see all around here from the top. But, the slope of the stairs to go to the top is too steep. I do not recommend going up with little kids.

Stunning views of the city. The central square with a fountain looks quite different. Inside is a touch of history. Be ready for a long climb up the steep steps. Payment at the top in front of the observation deck. Strong impressions, I recommend!

Great views over the town!
There are quite a few steps to the top & watch your head, but the view is worth it.
Julian McCracken — Google review
Definitely worth the steep climb - if you have no problem with wooden stairs, narrow steps and labyrinth-like climb up inside the tower. Also: don't take bug bags up, there's no room for this at the stairs. The view is fabulous, you can find map od what you are looking at,, the guy selling tickets up there was super nice and for a small fee, you can even borrow binoculars there
Náměstí Přemysla Otakara II is a sophisticated square featuring various eateries and drinking establishments. In the heart of the plaza, there stands an exquisite Baroque fountain that dates back centuries. The square exudes elegance and provides ample space for visitors to dine, drink, and socialize in a chic setting.

The hotel is perfectly okay.

The Samson fountain is a notable Baroque-style landmark located in a charming city square. It is one of the most famous parts of the old city and especially popular during Christmas time when visitors can enjoy shopping at the market, drinking local beverages like hot wine and trying traditional sausages and trdelnik. The fountain also offers fun activities for children such as riding on roundabouts or skating on a small ice rink.

Samson's Fountain - it was built in the 18th century in the baroque style. At the top of the pedestal there are four figures of Atlanteans supporting a large round bowl, from which in the middle, at the very top of the entire fountain, there is a pedestal with a sculpture depicting the biblical Samson taming a lion.
Samson is a warm hearted man, but subject to his own impulses.

One of the most famous parts of the old city. Nice to visit in the Christmas time. Here you can have a lot of shopping on Christmas market, hot wine, local beverages like sausages and trdelnik. It will also make fun for kids - they can take round about and also there's an ice rink, relatively small but enough for children fun time spending.

In 1895, at the height of its development, the German financial institution💶 Spar und Vorschussverein Biene, known as Včela (“Bee”), realized its ambition in a landmark building. However, in 1922 the establishment was robbed 💰 the culprit remained unknown, leading to financial difficulties and the cessation of the business.
In 1923 the palace was taken over by the Union of Germans in Bohemia (Bund der Deutsche in Böhmen), their logo (BdB) could be seen on the square even after World War II. 🏰✨

The Museum of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice is a charming and inviting museum that offers a diverse range of exhibits. Despite its smaller size compared to Prague's museums, it provides an enriching experience with interactive features such as sound listening, 3D models, and touch-and-guess games. The museum showcases unique animals, cultural customs, and geological displays. English translations are available for non-Czech speakers.
Surprisingly nice museum. The exhibitions are not very big, but they are full of interactive features like sound listening, 3D models, interactive microscope, touch and guess game, drawing for children and much more.
I have seen local children playing with the 3D model of the city, placing famous monuments on the right spot on a map. It’s a nice place to spend an hour or two.

The collections are fine, but the museum is very children unfriendly. The employees were rude to our children eg. because they played with interactive exhibits (which were intended to play with), or when they accidentally touched the glass. We were very disappointed by this approach.

Amazing museum! The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Tons of unique animals, cultural customs, and much more. Even if you struggle with your Czech, don't worry, English translations are readily available.
It may not be the biggest when compared to museums in Prague, but the inviting atmosphere along with the laid back lifestyle in Southern Bohemia allow you to fully absorb all there is to learn about this beautiful country.
And after your trip to the museum be sure to find yourself a delicious plate of goulash(beef stew) and knedlik(dumplings), a Czech specialty, accompanied by a cold Kozel beer!!

Restaurace Solnice is a Czech restaurant situated in a historic former salt store, featuring original wooden beams and markings indicating different storage areas. The restaurant boasts a microbrewery next door, with beer pumped directly to the taps. Traditional dishes are offered on the menu. Additionally, it is located in a beautifully reconstructed medieval granary building with the brew house just 50m away, allowing fresh beer to flow through a special "beer pipe" below the pavement.
This place is super cool. It's in a 5 C old building yet holds an attractive microbrew set-up inside. The beer and food were very good. Perhaps the best feature is the outdoor seating in the front. They take over much of a very pleasant square with lots of tables for relaxing in the evening. Pricy.

Solnice provided a delightful lunch experience! Their house beers were impressive, complementing the fantastic flavors of their dishes perfectly. The stuffed potato dumplings, with caramelized cabbage and fried onion, exceeded expectations. We absolutely loved the hint of smoke in the filling. Also, the pulled beef neck in wine and fennel was really good.

Best beer in town!
Super nice restaurant with a cosy atmosphere, during the weekend make sure to have a reservation (for dinner at least) as it can get pretty busy.
Other than that, the service was extremely good - we asked if we could get two beer jugs as a souvenir and they also cared to pack them nicely :)
As said, the beer is amazing. Solnice 11 is a mild lager beer, and Solnice 10 is a dark, light beer with an aftertaste that reminded me of liquorice. Highly recommended!
Food is also delicious, I suggest the goulash.
Looking forward to coming back sooner or later :)

This is - one of our best restaurants here in this area. The service was kind, spoke minimum 3 languages - Czech, German and English, was very fast and kind. The food was - as expected - very good, especially the local beer from the local brewery but also the kitchen was a combination of local well known products but with a modern touch. Thanks for this great experience!

The location and the restaurant itself are beautiful.
The beer is really good, in my opionion they could add a couple more exotic choices of beer.
The food is decent, i myself had the pulled duck dish and i am not a big fan of it. I like the innovative idea behind it but no the execution.
The gulasch on the other side was really good, so i guess it depends on your taste and choices.

Amazing brewery in the most heart of Czech Budweis. Restaurant and tap room is located in the beautifully reconstructed medieval granary building. And! The brew house itself is cross the street about 50m away and the fresh beer flows through the special "beer pipe" below the pavement. I admire that :-) They have fine daily and also evening "beer-fits" menus. Have a top class Tartar! Their beer portfolio is reasonable with mostly well treated Lagers but some Ale sample is always available.

KOH-I-NOOR is a pencil manufacturer with a rich history dating back to 1790. The brand offers high-quality professional graphite sets for drawing and graphic work. Although not the most affordable option, it is known for its good quality and pleasant service. The company's roots can be traced back to the invention of pencils in England in the 18th century, with a German innovating by mixing sulfur with graphite powder in 1760.

(Translated by Google) I was surprised to learn that this is a pencil manufacturer founded in 1790. Pencils were invented in England in the 18th century, but in 1760 a German made a lead by mixing sulfur with graphite powder, so it must have quickly spread to Europe around that time. This was a time when ink was still being used in Japan.
It's a mystery how they became such cute stationery (I asked them in English at the store, but they couldn't communicate with each other), but I recommend it as there are many wonderful souvenirs to buy.

Budweiser City is also the location of the state-owned pencil factory KOH-I-NOOR. This pencil factory emphasizes that it is natural and non-toxic, making it safe for children to use.
The hedgehogs in the window have log bodies on which 24 short colored pencils can be inserted.
Many people read the article at home and wanted to buy it, but when they arrived, they saw that the price had increased, so they gave up. The store here is directly operated by the factory, so it is "claimed" to be the cheapest in the Czech Republic. In fact, it is in the small shop next to Prague Bodani in Prague. It's cheaper to buy it in the store, about 10% off.
