Tower built in the medieval period, with exhibits on the history of Brest from the 14th century onwards. The tower is now a museum open to the public, and features items such as artefacts and maps that recount this city's story. There is also an area dedicated to naval history, including a dry dock where ships used to be repaired.
Well i liked it. No guide in english language but nice to wander around the exhibits. And btw it is free, no ticket needed.

This is a great stop off after getting off the ferry in Roscoff - just less than hour away. It was a lot bigger than we expected, really well presented and everything looked clean, well maintained & happy, healthy animals. We really enjoyed our visit and recommend it for families - however, after seeing the incredible creatures living in the sea around Brittany I'm not sure I want to get in and swim there now !

It’s a nice aquarium. Especially with the weather here. I went with my 2 year old son, so I didn’t have time to really read everything. It’s quite big. We arrived at 10:30 am, and finished at 1:30 pm.

Oceanopolis is not only an aquarium but a place which raises awareness of our sealife. The staff members animate sessions which are rich and educational. We spent two hours in the museum and it was awesome. You should visit if you are looking for an educational trip then it is a place to visit. This is not a parc like any other and is more a research centre. Support them to sustain our ocean's biodiversity! You can get tickets for free with their hotels combo.

We thought this was a great aquarium. It has indoor and outdoor areas. Sea otters and seals were very impressive as were the penguins. I love to visit this types of museum. But found this one quite boring. Short to no signs in English (and only a few in German), you got a audioguide in English, but the guide itself was slow and not always that interesting in my opinion. Many many stairs into spaces and rooms that was sparsely equipped with forced facts. Would not recommend because I feel like you can visit better museums in this region and get more experiences for your time. The personnel was nice. I found no toilets while visiting.

I am fascinated by the current trend to reutilise old industrial facilities. Here in Brest they have gone one better, not only revitalising the massive machine hall but also preserving some of the old machines which worked there. Its a great opportunity to marvel at the technology that fabricated our past. Along side the old there is the new, modern start ups, micro brewery, food hall and coffee bar.

On the ground floor is the gondola that Napoleon used during his visit at the beginning of the 19th century.

And there is a lot of open space with smooth floors where children rode bikes and young people rode skateboards.
Since everything is covered, it's easy to stay here even in bad weather.
There are several restaurants in the basement.
This has been implemented excellently for a new use of the old halls.

The Pont de Recouvrance is a lift bridge spanning the Penfeld River in Brest, France. It was inaugurated in 1954 and ranks as the second largest bridge in Europe. The structure replaced a swing bridge that had been destroyed during an Allied bombing raid in 1944. Its location near Rue de Siam connects to Quartier de Recouvrance, showcasing evidence of Brest's military and naval significance dating back to Roman times.
The Recouvrance Bridge is a lift bridge that crosses the Penfeld, in Brest, Finistère. Dominating the arsenal and the military port. It was built in 1950 - 1954. The National Bridge, inaugurated on June 23, 1861, collapsed into the river in September 1944, during the Allied bombings for the liberation of Brest from German occupation.
Post-war, after temporary solutions, such as the use by civilians of the Gueydon or Kervallon bridges. If you are visiting Brest, I advise you to visit this masterpiece.

One of the top and extremely helpful tourist offices I've ever been to. Very welcoming, knowledgeable and very helpful staff. They helped me find a clinic that does PCR tests. They helped me with my travel arrangements. That says a lot about the people from Brest and that is they welcome everyone and they want your stay to be good. Brest is a very welcoming and lovely city. I love you all and I will come back to Brest. I'm so glad I went to a place that treats you like family! ❤❤❤❤❤🙂🙂🙂

Rue Saint-Malo is a historic street located in the city of Quebec, Canada. It is known for its charming cobblestone pathway and beautiful architecture that reflects the French influence on the city's design. The street is home to several popular restaurants, cafes, and shops that attract locals and tourists alike. The Fort Montbarey museum tells the story of the Second World War in Finistère, France. The forts that make up the museum date back to the late 18th century and were originally built by Louis XVI. The fort is very interesting and worth a visit, especially if you are interested in military history.

The Henri Ansquer square features a bronze statue donated by Les Amis de Recouvrance association. It depicts Fanny de Laninon and Jean Quéméneur, immortalized in the Lament of Jean Quemeneur song. The statue serves as a reminder of rejected lovers' misery, and is a popular spot for tourists who enjoy the flonflons and songs of sailors associated with the area.

The "Entrée mémorielle de l'Abri Sadi Carnot" in Brest is a powerful and sobering memorial of heroism during World War II. The tunnel served as a hideout for civilians during an attack, leaving hundreds trapped. It's a place charged with history that is guaranteed to stir up emotions and is considered emblematic of the siege of Brest.

The staff told us the day before to come back the next day between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. because the shelter was closing soon. So we came back the next day at 4 p.m. and found the door closed, the lights off without being able to ask anyone anything. One of the least favorite marinas we stayed in while cruising France. Needs a serious upgrade. The visitors area is a long way from the facilities and office and so you tend to get forgotten about.
On the plus side very close to the rail station and the excellent TGV service if you need to get to Paris and on back to the UK.
Parked our boat here for 4 weeks and everything was fine. Plenty of cruisers about.

This Tower gives a wide angle view of the sea adjoining the shore. During September, and afterwards, you won't find it much crowded. After roaming the tower, one can go to the nearby beach. The water is very clean . And the waves are not very strong . You will find it safe from the children's perspective. Usually, it is occupied by the local families who want to spend a picnic time with their children.

Beautiful. Probably the best part of our daytrip to Brest. If you're in the area you should consider visiting one of many beautiful lighthouses in the region.
The Roadstead of Brest is a vast bay that features sandy beaches, towering cliffs and the bustling port of Brest. It's surrounded by lush forests and can only be accessed through a narrow strait. The harbor offers numerous surprises to visitors, although they are becoming less frequent over time. One can explore this beautiful region from various vantage points along the coast or embark on boat trips for unique perspectives.

A small enclosed sea, it is very rich in contrasts: infinitely beautiful in summer under the sun, it can be depressingly sad in November in rainy weather. Suffice to say that one of the two configurations is more common than the other.
Note the large currents and waves towards the narrows, the sumptuous landscapes towards Landevenec and the sea of oil towards the long island.
