(Translated by Google) Area occupied "intensively" during peak periods.
"Strategic" position given the proximity to the port and the town center.
The cycle path is directly connected to the parking area,
making the connection to both Sanremo and Imperia very convenient.
The beach is very very close.
The supermarket and shops are within easy walking distance, as are restaurants and bars.
Parking area which was the site of a tragic accident,
last year, he lost his life together with his inseparable dog, Mrs. Eliana Crema (both devoured by the fury of the flames),
To date, a small bundle of withered flowers remains as the only "trace"
It is the epilogue of a broken life,
of a woman with a motor disability (she moved with her wheelchair aided by her partner and accompanied by her faithful dog.
A moral debt that pierces the conscience of all those who have seen without "looking" with empathetic eyes.
An unjust death like many others, which time is erasing from everyone's memory, but which instead deserves to be remembered (to be a warning for the future).
The car park called "Area 24 Parking" already has a NAME imprinted with FIRE like a seal...
and that is ELIANA CREMA.
I FORMALLY ASK THE MAYOR to take this proposal of mine into consideration.
and on the occasion of the anniversary of her death (14 October 2022 - 14 October 2023) to recognize this tribute.

The Russian Orthodox Church has an impressive architectural design that resembles a work of art. It has been a center of attraction since 2019 due to its beauty and central location in the city. Discovering this church during our day trip from Nice to Sanremo was a delightful surprise. We were accompanied by our mother, who grew up in Russia and wasn't aware of the historical significance of this place. Unfortunately, we couldn't explore inside due to a mass. Fortunately, right across the street, we found an excellent Russian food shop. The lady inside was incredibly knowledgeable and shared valuable insights about the church's history.

The Queen's Church.
An unexpected architectural style catches you, walking or driving along the Italian paradise coast of San Remo, the so called Russian Orthodox Church.
Built in the old style of 17th century Moscow churches, with five onion domes (topped with crosses in Russian style) and the characteristics of kokočniki decorations, it is so different than any other building or monument in the city! The idea belongs to the Russian queen (Tsarina) Maria Alexandrovna, who wanted to place a church at the beginning of the avenue dedicated to her.
In 19th century a number of Russian aristocrats lived or spent significant time in San Remo. Even though the queen died before she saw her dream come true, other residents who lived in San Remo, Russian aristocrats, and the Tsar Nicholas II, supported the project and made it happen.
Two funy things :
First, the Russian architect never visited San Remo and works were directed by a local Italian architect.
Seccond, he was the designer of Lenin's mausoleum on the Red Square in Moscow, and was remembered more for the churches demolished during the Soviet period, rather than by the ones realized in prior times.

Villa Nobel, named after the renowned scientist Alfred Nobel, is a striking Moorish-style mansion dating back to 1870. It served as a retreat and laboratory for Nobel's scientific pursuits during the late 19th century. The villa now hosts the "Discover the 19th Century" exhibition showcasing technological advancements of that era and Nobel's contributions across various fields. Additionally, visitors can explore rooms dedicated to Nobel's life and personality.
Great place to spend first half of a day. Opening hours 9:30-12:30. Exploring the villa takes around 1 hour. €7 per adult, €5 per kid. The villa and surrounding garden is lovely. Our kid, and us, adults, loved it.

Very interesting museum about Nobel's life in the basement (and about the many other scientific developments that happened during his lifetime). A lifelong experimenter, I had no idea that he had dabbled in so much.
However the house is rather bare and disappointing. I think it is mostly used for events (as is the garden), and not much remains of its history as a grand villa.

The Villa Ormond, located in Sanremo, Italy, is a beautiful classical villa surrounded by lush gardens and stunning scenery. It serves as the headquarters for the International Institute of Humanitarian Law - one of the most prestigious institutes for teaching international humanitarian law and war crimes. The villa also neighbors Villa Nobel, once the residence of Sir Alfred Nobel. Visitors can enjoy a trip to this charming tourist attraction which offers free access to a public park with picturesque flowers and an impressive building set in green surroundings.

Corso Imperatrice is a charming and picturesque street located in the heart of a vibrant Italian city. Lined with elegant shops, cozy cafes, and historic buildings, it offers visitors a delightful shopping and dining experience. The avenue is known for its beautiful architecture and lively atmosphere, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
Forte di Santa Tecla has a rich history, serving as a symbol of Genoese strength, a defense against sea invasions, a barracks, and even a city prison. This 18th-century fortress is now the main museum in the area and stands as one of the few remaining examples of Ligurian military architecture from that time. Located near Pian di Nave, it offers scenic views by the sea and hosts multimedia exhibitions and cultural events.
Suggested place to go visit with family. Lots of expositions keep alternating throughout the year. The renovation process was colossal - for the size of the building - and finally brings to the light this hidden gem. It is not finished yet, so bear that in mind when coming visiting. Incredible piece of history of Sanremo.

I have to say that as Italian cathedrals go, this one was rather disappointing as the interior, though well kept and lovely paintings, was rather plain in comparison to those visited in Venice. It's size and desogn also meant that it appeared more like a large church rather than it's cathedral status. Some of the other churches in Sanremo were of equal merit if not more so.
