The round wall is very impressive, especially with the sound artwork that was added to it and the exhibition of Elsa Alfelt is beautiful. I especially want to thank Peter for the tour he gave me, with beautiful stories about the museum and the Pedersen-Alfelt family. The staff is very kind and helpful!

Awesome selection of books, a great place to hang out with friends, they organise different events for kids so that they have a lot of fun. The building is spacious and clean. The coffee bar is also pleasant. There are a lot of tables and places where you can stop by to read a book or just chill.

Søby Brunkulsmuseum Herning is a captivating museum that offers valuable insights into the era of lignite mining. With an engaging guide who truly brings the past to life, visitors can explore the fascinating history of the people who worked in these deposits. The museum shares numerous charming anecdotes, adding depth and vibrancy to the exhibits. Although not large in size, it is highly informative and reasonably priced, making it a worthwhile destination for anyone in the vicinity.
Not the biggest museum, but very good anyway and fairly priced. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

There are many places by the brown cabbage lakes where you can go for a walk in this very special piece of nature. At the same time, combine it with seeing a piece of a unique business center, and still see pollution completely without a filter.
The polluted coal lakes, where the water is brown and Søbysø, which is refreshingly blue, so it is almost impossible to wait to take a dip.

(Translated by Google) I went on a walk here with a friend and the surroundings were fantastically beautiful, there were good paths to walk on, several different routes and many resting places and lookout points along the way.
Unfortunately, we did not visit the museum itself, but drove along the graves on a very beautiful and exciting route by car.
So regardless of whether you are on an active trip with hiking shoes, off with packed lunches, looking for a good drive or curious about some central Jutland history from an important and exciting time, it is definitely worth a visit.

Few more food options would have been great, some machines were not working, but that's okay. This place has every age covered, my boy ages 1,5 & 10 & 13 had great fun for not too much money. Prices are fair 👌 staff is super friendly and English speaking was no problem 😊

A good and fun inside action park for kids on the younger side. I'd say for kids between 1-10 years old.
Everything from climbable towers, with slides, trampoline park with wall mounted trampolines and a wide selection of arcade games. Can easily spend the 4 hours, you get out of the entrance fee

Very nice indoor playground for every age. Many different activities cover all children needs. Even a quite huge arcade area is available. The wide and open areas prevent crowding and many tables and banks offer space to rest. Some toys are really worn out and some cables are too easy accessible for children, but all in all a great experience.

Real Nice place for your kids to let off some steam. Its a shame that so many of the arcade machines is not working properly. 😓

Love this place, well my kids can spend the whole 4 hours here with little supervision, as they know where everything are, there are lots of stuff for all ages, will say I miss some more variety of food (for us adults that has to spend 4 hours waiting for the kids) ☺️

Fantastic place for the whole family. A lot of options for all kind of people. Free parking, free wifi, and all the activities are free. You can bring your own food and eat ore you can buy at the place. If you want to do all the activities who need physical activity you may have light clothes. The temperature can be high if there are much people and high activity.
Øyvind Skadberg — Google review
Fun ace for children, a lot of attractions, great for parties and birthdays. Don't like the fact there are type of gambling machines inside where to play you need to put additional coins and you have already paid to enter. Plus it's not good for kids to spend their parents' money on such machines without some parents even knowing.
I think for those who are interested in the history of textile industry of Jylland and Denmark itself it's a must have visit. Also, as an expat who lives in Herning, I have found interesting to realize that this industry have played significant part in developing the municipality, that you will not find in wiki.
For 10€ you spent 2..3h. familiarizing yourself with local stories and history facilitated with machines.

No exaggeration to say this place is in my top 3 Textile Museums in Herning, and the whole district probably.
Why?
It's well organised, quite accurate, mostly free (for some special exhibs you do need a ticket), and it covers - pun intended! - plenty of classic textiles and fabrics, from lace to corduroy and back again via suede and spandex.
Only criticism/suggested improvement zone: gift shop (please!)

HEART Herning Museum Of Contemporary Art is a remarkable museum showcasing contemporary art from Denmark, Italy and other parts of the world. The modern white space features constructive and concrete works that are highly impressive. One of the highlights is the exhibition on computers, computer games and art, which offers an exciting experience for visitors. The permanent collection is also captivating with interesting works of art worth exploring.
This is a great great modern art museum! Every year for Christmas I visit abd every time I am positively impressed with the exhibition on display. This time the main show was about computers, computer games and art. Really good! Even the permanent collection is very interesting and worth visiting. The building itself is spacious, light and elegant. In the summer time the garden is a welcoming place, especially by the little pool (which can be the site of art installations too).
The museum shop is well stocked. There is also a Cafe but I have not visited it. Overall, the best modern art museum in Jutland, a strong rival to Aarhus!

Next level was an awesome arcade experience back in I think 2018 or 2017 Where I last visited
It had a lot of things to try and some very old and nostalgic for my father to try, there was a great atmosphere and a decent fee for entry which I can't complain about.
While I can't say anything abouts what's been after, it's risks like next level that are different than normal museums that would make me visit again, while I didn't spend many many hours in there, it was definitely worth it.

DGI Huset Herning is a modern hotel situated in the heart of Herning. The establishment boasts an impressive aquatic center with a swimming pool and beautiful badminton court, as well as a gym for those who enjoy staying active. Guests can also relax and unwind at the day spa or on the rooftop sauna. In addition to these facilities, visitors can enjoy complimentary breakfast each morning which offers plenty of options. While rooms are clean, they lack character and may not be considered particularly cozy.
It's a nice central hotel to stay in Herning, plenty of parking, the sports facility here is excellent too, great swimming pool and gym. Breakfast in morning is better than most in Denmark with quite a few options.
Rooms were very clean but are a little bland and not what you would call cozy, absurd situation like all across the continent where you are given a single duvet for a double bed and pillows that have no padding whatsoever.
John Everest — Google review
Modern but the room is quite small and not very quiet. There's a big swimming pool and gym on the way to the room.
Jaya Mee — Google review
I would not recommend this hotel. The distance from the reception to the rooms is quite far, and the only route available passes through the gym, the breakfast 4 av 10, and the parking situation is inadequate, as guests using the gym often occupy spots in the hotel's parking lot
There was no water kettle or coffee-making facilities in the room, which was disappointing. Additionally, the condition of the bathroom did not meet expectations for a hotel of this standard
Best For you — Google review
Good hotel in the centrum of Herning city. Just on the walking street. Equipped with swimming pool and gym.
Beautiful badminton court.
Arounkumar Manivannan — Google review
Probably the most random place I’ve stayed in. It’s a hotel in a gym, which makes it awkward to walk with your luggage to your room passing through a gym.
The downs: rooms are in a dire state (stinky drain, scratches or marks on floor/walls, windows don’t block the outside noise, poor lighting, lack of plugs). My room had 3 beds, including a couch that had been made into a bed and a camp bed (I was staying alone!). I had no floor space to move around and the camp bed was blocking the window so I couldn’t really open it. When I asked reception if the camp bed could be removed I was told that it couldn’t, without giving me a reason for it. I ran into room service who kindly agreed to do so. However, they didn’t remove the sheets from the sofa, so I did it myself because it felt really awkward to have an extra made up bed in the room, and I wanted to use the sofa as a sofa…
For a hotel catering to business people, you would expect more plugs in the room to be able to plug in your computer charger without having to unplug the desk light, or maybe plugs in the reception/cafe area to be able to work from there too…
The ups: overall friendly staff, although kind of felt like I was bothering each time I’d have to ask for something like ordering a taxi or something; hotel guests have access to the pool, gym and wellness center which is much appreciated. Breakfast is ok, although for the price you could expect fresh juice, bigger mugs for tea and a toaster for bread.
A big improvement would be to add phones in the rooms to reach reception or vice versa… case in point: because I was 5mins late to come down to take the taxi I had ordered, they sent the taxi driver up to my room to fetch me, whilst I was already coming down to the lobby. since the hotel is quite a maze, the cab driver must have gotten lost and I had to wait an extra 15mins before staff finally decided to call another cab.
Louise Moulié — Google review
Nice staff, facilities are ok, breakfast buffet has an excellent choice. Stayed here while on business and would definitely stay again.
Bring your gym gear and swim shorts if your that way inclined, that side of the hotel is unsurpassed by any other accommodation I’ve ever stayed in.

Used only pool and sauna 5 stars.

Great hotel with a fantastic gym inside. Infact, i think its more a Gym with a hotel inside :-)
The bad part is the breakfast, very simple, no pastry options and not possible to toast the bread . But the rooms are quite comfortable and clean.
Mar Alegre — Google review
Good hotel, especially if you would like to go to the gym.
Also, there is the possibility to follow group lessons.
Swimming is also possible.
And parking is free next or below the hotel.
Within 1 minute you are in the city centre of Herning to find a good restaurant or bar.
Pascal Tijhuis — Google review
It is a nice place to stay in Herning. But I found it very crowded because it has a big gym, indoor cycling, swimming etc which is also accessible for all the people who are not staying in the Hotel. So reception is typically crowded. Parking is bit tricky. It is across the road and that too in a first row. If you parked last row, that is chargeable. Please be aware of that.
Secondly in a room, they don't have a simple Kettle to make hot water and tea/coffee, which I found bit weird. I mean, what is the problem to provide simple Kettle in a room.
Rest is all ok.
Ravindra Bhide (Ravi) — Google review
Rooms are not lavish as compared to the price. I had stayed in scandic for less price and rooma were quite better. Breakfast is very minimum. No options for Veg.
This hotel is more better for someone who wants Gym and Swimming.
Not suitable for Business stay. As we need good rooms and better breakfasts during business visits.

(Translated by Google) Exciting architecture. The high arches can resemble flames in a bonfire. Is the idea perhaps reminiscent of the past belief in purgatory? In contrast to Luther's view of Christianity's message of love? The church room does what every church should do - stir up your own mind with thoughts about life and death.

Super sted.😊👍💯

(Translated by Google) Nice and clear exhibition by Jim Lyngvild and Trine Jepsen - "Kongeräkken". Due to the physical conditions, only a small part of the exhibition could be seen. But really nicely set up and with very beautiful clothes. Information both as printed on banners and books laid out. Introduction by Trine Jepsen.

(Translated by Google) A somewhat underwhelming exhibition, where you leave the place with more questions about the history of the place than before you entered. It's a bit of a shame

Beautiful nature, as in every part of Denmark! The deer park is awesome. We were here in January, snow was everywhere, it was amazing. The deers were shy but it was fantastic to approach them carefully.
Let's visit all the deer parks in Denmark, there are many of them! I think these parks are very good ideas to show the nature - wildlife in its natural environment, not in cages, like at a zoo.
You can stay for a night in your own tent near the deer park area, and here is also a big, fenced area in the forest for the dogs, so they can run while don't disturb the deers.
Big parking places for the cars and good roads for bycicles, prams and wheelchairs also.
