Water Castle Klaffenbach is a unique Renaissance fortress that hosts various cultural exhibitions and events. Visitors can also explore craft shops, dine at the restaurant, or stay at the hotel. The castle is surrounded by water with a beautiful river flowing in front of its entrance, providing serene views and scenic beauty. Additionally, there's no entrance fee to visit this peaceful place where one can enjoy the chirping of birds and sound of water channel alongside nature's beauty.
During winter time this location antld its castle dives you in a fairy tale with Christmas lights illuminating the white snow surrounding a silent location.
The restaurant is in the ground floor of the hotel in multiple rooms with ancient stone columns.
The menu is not super long, which h facilitate the choice. Good the local choices as well as the menu. The service was friendly but refined.
The hotel rooms were very spacious with an antique flavour with a modern and well equipped bathroom.
The price was value for money.

Must visit place in Chemnitz. Amazing different type of machine from various generation. Interestingly some of the machine models and in working conditions. Kids can get lot of information about old technology which they haven’t seen in todays life.

An impressive museum
The Industriemuseum is worth visiting. It contains many old cars, but also all sorts of machines giving an idea of the development of technology in the past 300 years. Also it shows rare metals. Take your time and reserve at least 2 hours for a visit. Also for children it it is worth going there.
If you come by car use the perfect, clean, safe and easy to enter free parking place. But note that you use for the navigation not the number of the museum but number 123 zwickauer strasses. NOT nr 119, because than you will not find the parking place..

The Karl-Marx-Monument in Chemnitz is an impressive bronze sculpture of Karl Marx's head, surrounded by a stone wall adorned with multilingual quotes. This cultural landmark is located between the major cities of Leipzig and Dresden, making it easily accessible for travelers interested in history. The monument is a significant piece of history that symbolizes an entire epoch, and there are few similar pieces left in the world.
This imposing bust dominates the centre of Chemnitz. The city of Chemnitz is located just between two major cities of Lepzig and Dresden, just one hour away by train or car. If you are a history fan, you should definitely make a stop there if you are traveling in the region. These kind of history pieces define the whole epoch and they are fewer of them left. This particular piece is so epic.

According to various encyclopedia resources, Karl Marx himself did not visit or show any particular interest in the city. However, during my visit to the monument, I was captivated by the presence of a massive crowd of Yellow Vest protesters, who brought the scene to life with their passionate voices and whistles. It was evident that they were rebelling for their rights and making a concerted effort to amplify their voices, which is aligning with one of Karl Marx's form of expression.
Walid Mansour — Google review
Marx was a great philosopher who radically influenced thought mainly with his economic analyses of capitalism but not only. A significant sculptural tribute to his person. I, too, was influenced by him but, in my opinion, a character better known as the Lord, was of a higher degree of which, in some ways, he revisited the humanitarian aspect.
Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz is an impressive art museum that boasts a diverse range of collections and exhibitions by both European and international artists. Pleasant collection of German art from the last century. Quiet and calm place.
I really enjoyed the museum so much! Especially surprised by the English explanations in each display! This part of Germany usually lacks them; you can always get an audio guide, but I prefer reading. Also, one other thing that impressed me is that they had replicates of some pieces so that people without vision could touch and "see" the museum. I especially loved this idea. Also, they take plants as a part of natural history and put models of plants as well as animals, which was unique among the natural history and archeology museums I have visited so far. I fell in love with the museum, mostly because of these small thoughts that matter. I enjoyed my visit, and I think what the city lacked in the botanical garden was completed with this museum. Great job. I recommend everyone who can pay a visit.

One of the best archaeology museums I've ever seen, it is quite ambitious trying (and succeeding) to tell the story of humanity itself through the finds around Saxony. It has a balanced approach between exhibits, explanations and interactive elements, while boasting a cornucopia of exhibits some as old as 35k years it feels the exhibits are chosen with a purpose in mind. The story is told with enough accuracy to keep the specialist interested while being also fun for the laymen and even for children. Very modern in outlook it is enjoyable, spacious, clean and well ventilated. The entrance fee is small for what you get to explore. 10/10 recommended 💪

The Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, Museum Gunzenhauser is an art museum situated in an old bank building that features a collection of modern art curated by a gallery owner. The collection boasts numerous works by renowned artist Otto Dix and offers visitors a diverse range of artwork to appreciate. Despite being relatively empty, the museum is definitely worth visiting for those interested in German expressionism and New Objectivity European art movements. Lockers are available for bags and there is also a café on-site.
I took lots of inspiration from all of the art pieces! Don't forget to get papers around every corner in the museum, they tell you about artists' life both in English and German. Also staff is so nice and understands English! They also have a cute cafe at the entrance where you buy the ticket.
I wish you an amazing tour in the museum because it's going to be! Take lots of pictures without flash of course and look into details of the paintings, I'm sure you'll get inspired.
Love and best regards from Turkey!

I must say one of the reasons we came to the city was to see this museum what a disappointment they are not used to having USA people no one hardly spoke English nor where most of the things have any English information even the ticket information people in both of these museums that we did today could not speak English hardly the three floors were interesting art The main reason we came to see the Otto dix again was disappointing the rest of the art was way off of our interestI eight euros per person expensive

The Botanischer Garten Chemnitz is a 12-hectare botanical garden that offers guided tours of its arboretum, tropical greenhouse, and stork pond. It features a wide range of tropical and Latin American plants in the inner gardens, while the outdoor area provides access to a beautiful forest. While some visitors may not enjoy seeing birds in cages, overall it is a peaceful and enjoyable place to connect with nature's beauty.
An amazing place where you can see many different variety of plants. It's an intresting place with many different small animals and birds. Entry ticket is free. I was so surprised to see a tropical jungle inside. I would highly recommend you to visit if you love plants. You need 2 to 4 hours. Bus stop is near by to the mail entrance.
Dhanush NL — Google review
If you want to see a real botanical garden, this is not the place. But if you look at it as a place to entertain children while teaching nature and stuff, then this is the right place. There are more animal areas than plants, I think. The greenhouses were nice, mostly properly labeled, but not all. The open areas, however, were kind of a mess. Maybe because I was there during mid autumn but I was a bit disappointed. They have a vivarium, a petting zoo (I assume, because there weren't much information), some cages for owls, etc. But I find it wrong to cage up wild animals, and that's why do not go to zoos and seeing this in a botanical garden was a bit frustrating for me. I would prefer more information on plants and plant communities, and fewer cages for animals. At least the entrance was free..

Chemnitz Zoo is a small yet impressive animal park housing approximately 200 species, including big cats, camels, and kangaroos. It also features a vivarium that showcases various amphibians. The zoo offers discounted rates for students and is an ideal place to visit with family members as children will surely enjoy interacting with the animals such as zebras, flamingos, beavers, lions, tigers and birds.
Really good zoo, definitely could use some improvements to animal welfare but nothing horrible. Most to all animal exclosures were great, although staffing seemed low.

Next to the zoo is a playground for the children, there is a waterfront restaurant for casual and semi-formal. The zoo is ok as well but the plus for me is seeing the Hyena, it is a majestic beast. Pity I did not get a picture but oh well.

There are many animals like zebra, flamingo, beavers, lion, tiger, birds etc. You can even pet the goats! I liked that section. They take good care of the zoo animals as it seemed to me. The security is also good. There are public toilets too. But, the lion is so old! And skinny! Except that, i liked the zoo very much.

The Saxon Railway Museum is a fantastic facility that showcases an impressive collection of vintage trains and machinery. Housed in elegant red-brick engine sheds, the museum boasts a vast array of diesel, electric and steam engines. The majority of these locomotives are of Saxon heritage, providing visitors with a fascinating insight into the history of rail travel in this region.

We were at the Villa on Wednesday. When we rang the bell, we heard that the museum was unfortunately closed. Open again on Thursday... unfortunately not a feasible option for us.
We walked around the house and took some pictures of the outside and garden. Suddenly a gentleman came up to us and apologized for the fact that they were closed and that it was not very clear on the website. We told them that we were from the Netherlands and unfortunately would not be able to go and have a look the next day.
Then he surprised us: He wanted to let us take a look inside the ground floor!! He showed us the wedding room and told us that the books in the bookcase had been there for 100 years. This was specified in the will. He also pointed out the mirrored decor in the salon. We enthusiastically took photos and were very happy with this sweet gesture. Above all, the performances are prepared with so much aesthetics, affection for the audience and artistic talent that every age group feels comfortable. We come here very often and every visit is an experience. So we were looking forward to Weber's Freischütz on April 29th. The opera is very well known and just as popular. The artists were certainly all great talents and the music was a pleasure. Only the production as an anti-war design with a stage design that was in complete contrast to the music and the text was a strong imposition. If artists want to bring an anti-war theme to the stage, you can submit your own work to the audience. But to deface an approximately 200-year-old opera with a horrible stage set and to supplement it with didactic texts was an absolute imposition that I would not recommend to anyone.

If you don't like the dark so much, you should take an extra flashlight with you, as lamps are only occasionally attached.
As an adult you sometimes have to bend down well, as the corridor is only about 1.40 m high in places.
In the last cathedral / cave, where weddings also take place, a mine song is played which is quite long and quite loud; our 4 year old didn't like that at all and we had to cover his ears.
We adults thought it was great and so did our 8 year old, with smaller children you have to weigh up whether it is possible.

Preise fair, Bedienung freundlich.

(Translated by Google) I went to the Rabenstein Rock Dome today and regretted not having been there earlier. The tour was very pleasant, interesting and informative. A lot of the story was told about how it all started, developed and improved. About the difficult times of the friends. How they worked. How many brines there were and are. The play of light from the spotlights highlighting the different types of rock. You can also get married down there 👰 if you want. The ambience would be excellent for this. And there are different species of bats living down there. But don't worry, they are peaceful. The visit to the Dome of the Rock was very worth it. Thank you again for the pleasant morning. If you feel hungry afterwards, you can satisfy your hunger in the restaurant right next door. LG 😂

LG 😂

The Roter Turm is a venerable brick tower that dates back to the 12th century. This impressive structure was utilized as a jail during the 1500s, and has since been excellently restored. The ancient landmark boasts of an enduring redbrick facade that speaks to its long history and cultural significance. As such, it remains an important part of our collective heritage and serves as a testament to the architectural prowess of our ancestors.
All people from Chemnitz know this place.

Sachsen-Allee is an enclosed shopping mall with over 80 shops that boasts of tree-lined corridors and a glass roof, giving it an outdoor ambiance. It offers a diverse range of products, including clothing, electronics, and groceries. The food court is excellent with a variety of options to choose from. The shopping experience for clothes is equally good as there are many stores to select from. Sachsen-Allee also houses Media Markt which has a vast selection of electronic items.
Nice shopping mall. Well decorated. Kaufland, TKMaxx, KFC, Mediamarkt and few more brands are there. Sitting areas are so nice specially around the fountains.

Few days back, I went to the Media Markt there for buying a gamming laptop. My experience was good. Verity of electronics items were there.
My experience of clothes shopping is also very good. It has numerous shops for clothes in there. In the end when I got tired of shopping I went to the food area and I really liked the food there and believe me it will not disappoint you either. Sitting arrangement for dining is very big and comfortable. This place is worth going.

(Translated by Google) February 29, 2024 We saw the performance of the play NO TO MONEY. Unfortunately we haven't been here for a long time. But thrilled as always. A great ensemble that you can admire/experience again and again. Ms. Weh's physical presence is strong and impressive. Always friendly staff in the foyer. We think the early evening performance at 7 p.m. is great. Good for those who travel further or for older people who don't want to be on the slopes so late. We were there at 6:20 p.m. and the seating area in the foyer was well occupied. Here you can meet before and after the performance, chat or drink up some courage. The sanitary area is small but clean and the best toilet paper in Chemnitz. We wish this theater, which probably doesn't receive nearly as much support as state institutions, all the best and continued success. We are gastro-consultants and quality trainers and always evaluate fairly and objectively.
