The Reptile House Earth zoo is an indoor tropical exhibit that features a diverse array of reptiles including snakes, turtles, and crocodiles. The staff are known for their friendliness and willingness to engage visitors in conversation about the animals on display. Although the number of animals may be limited compared to other zoos, the exhibits themselves are spacious and beautifully designed with a modern yet naturalistic aesthetic. Visitors can also enjoy presentations featuring opportunities to handle insects or snakes.
A very pleasant surprise! Incredibly friendly staff who are eager for a chat and take the time to tell you something about the animals.
There might not be as many animals as some others places, but it's made up for with beautiful, spacious exhibits. The aesthetic is modern, yet still very naturalistic.
I had a lovely time.
Make sure to catch some of the presentations as well, getting to hold an insect or snake is a great experience!

You are able to find this location around or behind a neighborhood. The staff is pretty friendly and allows you to take photo's but they do warn you that some animals can't take the flash on your camera.. Not that this is needed since there is enough light.
The tickets for adult (what i have paid for) was €10. You don't need to wait or purchase an online ticket. You can pay with cash or card.. the room isn't too big, there is 1 floor. and there are several animals in here to explore. There is one of the workers touring you around and telling you about this and that. you could even hold some of the animals.
This is definitely meant for younger people but if you do have a spark of interest this is definitely an interesting place to visit. If you are exploring on your own, you could be done in about 15 minutes. Depending on your interest.

It is very nice! You can also organise a birthday party for kids here but you have make a reservation in advance and it’s beautiful experience for kids as they love it! I went with 4 kids and all of them holded the snake 🐍 around their neck and they felt the snake was not dirty or messy rather it was a velvety touch with no harm!

A nice small house full of all kinds of reptiles. Very nice for children. Could hold a boa and have a close look at all different sorts of lizards. Giant turtles were especially appreciated by my child. They were really big and impressive. Don't expect to spend here a lot of time. It is really small. So the entire visit, including coffee and slush puppie for children, will last no longer than 1,5 hours.
Zanna Karelina — Google review
The reptile house has a variety of reptiles, cared for by really nice caretakers who are very easy to approach and eager to answer questions about them.

Staffs really helpful and informative!
When I came, I was afraid I couldn’t catch up with the information that was given. But once you ask, they will help answer your questions in English 👍🏻
Also, it would be recommended for you who have children to come here. I came by myself, but I saw a lot of families doing activities like drawing, colouring, and stuff.
They also sell snacks and drinks!
The ticket is considered affordable, for me, an adult, it cost about €12

Really great place. Personel very knowledgeable. Lots of interaction with the creatures. First time you see reptiles in a mini "zoo" that are active. You just can tell they are well taken care off and happy.

I don't know if it is the best kept secret in Breda or not but this place is great. Knowledgeable and friendly staff really help bring you in contact with the reptiles. Surprising assortment of creatures all housed in clean, well lit enclosures. I would recommend the Reptile House as a fun destination for families.

A little gem in the sweet municipality of Breda! The staff are incredibly warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We arrived on a rainy afternoon where it wasn't too busy, and had the chance to interact with some of the animals. Holding a stick bug and a ball python while listening to staff talk about these wonderful animals was a treat. The animals are kept in great shape, with spacious terrariums. The staff are happy to answer your questions (in Dutch or English!), and there's even a small cafe area to purchase snacks. The outdoor seating area is shaded for sunny (or rainy) afternoons, with an excellent view of the giant tortoises as well. Overall, this was a treat to visit and I'd highly recommend taking a look if you're in town.

Very good for spontaneous trip. You can ask questions, pet and hold a snake. The trip, depending on what you expect, takes from 20 to 120 minutes. You can stay longer to chat about reptiles, see the feeding and read about them.
Begijnhof is a 13th-century women's community in the heart of Breda that also serves as a museum. It features well-preserved houses, a doll and miniature museum, and a small church or chapel. The garden area is beautiful and secluded, with signs explaining the different plants. Despite being located in the city center, Begijnhof offers visitors an oasis of peace and tranquility with a meditative atmosphere.
Was here during the carnival. But this magical place was quiet and peaceful. An interesting marvelous courtyard that tells the story of this community. Next to the miniature museum. Free admission

Nice secluded garden where the unmarried women lived. The plants have signs. There is a small church/chapel on the grounds. There is a medetative atmosphere to the place where it is hard to believe you are in the center of Breda. If you are in breda take the time to hop in. It is free

Visiting Begijnhof was a wonderful experience and a definite highlight during my trip. This peaceful, picturesque enclave is steeped in history, dating back to the 13th century when it served as a community for religious women. The charming, well-preserved houses, cobblestone paths, and lovely gardens create a serene atmosphere that transports you back in time.
The Begijnhof is home to a fascinating museum where you can learn about the lives of the beguines and the history of the community. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated and provide an excellent insight into the daily lives of these remarkable women.
In addition to the main museum, there is also a unique doll and miniature museum, which is a real treat for visitors of all ages. The intricate detail and craftsmanship of the miniature scenes and dollhouses are truly impressive and provide a glimpse into various aspects of historical life.
The church at Begijnhof is another must-see, with its stunning architecture and peaceful ambiance. It's the perfect place for quiet reflection and to admire the beautiful stained-glass windows and artwork inside.
If you're looking for a break from the bustling city, Begijnhof is a tranquil oasis that offers a captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. I highly recommend taking the time to visit this enchanting place, which will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on your heart.

Very small yet calm place. I have lived here in the city for years and never once found it to be crowded. It is minutes away from the city center. Easy walking distance. If you happen to be in the big park then do please go in and have a look. It is right around the corner.
A really a pleasant place to walk around in or to sit and read a book. In summer it looks delightful and in winter it looks like a small medieval wonder. As far as i am aware it is free of charge to walk around the garden. I go at least once a month and never had to pay to walk around.

Stadspark Valkenberg is a stunning park located near a canal, offering shaded paths and picnic lawns for visitors to enjoy. It also features a playground for children, ping-pong tables, and a café. Originally the garden of the castle, this park boasts comfortable benches, wide lanes, and even has a T-house and pont. Park itself is very nice.
Small, but I like what was done there.
I love those chickens running around, it's really cute.
However, I need to take a star or 2 away, because it can be very messy there.
People often times just leave trash everywhere.
Also, everytime I come, I had a "luck"
To see some dead animal ( fish, birds, ducks... )
What is happening there? Some Brenda's animal serial killer?

Wonderful park. It was the garden of the castle but now it is the Citypark. It's gorgeous. Comfortable benches, wide lanes, a T-house, pont, everything you want in a park. Just sitting and watching all these relaxing people, makes you happy. Untill, you see something move in the far away bushes. What could it be? A rooster and chickens! So funny. Though, they did not like me that much.

The Large Church Breda, also known as Our Dear Mother Church, is a Catholic church that was built between 1410 and 1547 in the Latin cross-plan style. The church's ornate tower-spire, which was completed in 1509, is considered one of the most beautiful in the Netherlands. It stands at a height of 97m and remains an iconic symbol of old Breda.

The Gothic-style Grote Kerk (Great Church) in Breda is a true architectural marvel that transports visitors to a bygone era. This 15th-century church, adorned with an imposing 97-meter tower, is a proud testament to the city's rich history and artistic heritage.
As you step inside, the church's intricate stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings, and mesmerizing frescoes capture your attention. The delicate balance between light and shadow, coupled with the choir's hauntingly beautiful melodies, create a serene atmosphere that envelops you in its embrace.
One of the church's main attractions is the exquisite Prince's Chapel, a breathtaking example of Dutch Renaissance art. The ornate tombs of the House of Nassau are another must-see, showcasing Breda's historical significance.

Small museum with valuable collections. It’s the better place to learn more about the origin of the Dutch royal family. It’s also the good place to learn more about the Breda city. It’s quite unique . Beside they keep on holding different exhibitions. The price is only 12,5 euro. It’s free if you have a museum card.

It seems like the Breda municipality has too much say in this museum, but that's my guess. It's fun when a museum has work by local artists, but for me it goes too far when it focussed on paintings of churches that are near to Breda.. Plus shameless Breda-policy promotion in the museum.
The museum did look neat and wheelchair accessible, but the light was not wheelchair accessible. If you're a kid or sitting in a chair, you'll be looking at a lot of light reflection instead of the painting. Maybe next time hire a light technician who knows how to do art exhibitions.
Personnel was very friendly, thank you for your kind hospitality.

Restaurant Wolfslaar is a renowned dining spot located on a stunning estate just outside Breda. Housed in a historic coach house, this Michelin-starred restaurant has maintained its prestigious status since 2005. Situated near the oldest natural forest in the Netherlands and King William's former garden, it offers an exquisite dining experience with an impressive selection of wines. The ambiance is enhanced by an adjacent event building, making it a popular choice among locals.
Local favorite! Very nice location. Exquisite dining with nice wines. Staff is very helpful.

Nothing special about the place. Cost a lot and pretentious but food does not stimulate any taste buds in me! Salmon for appetizer was very ordinary. Paprika soup was not hearty enough. Bread was served, but I had better, not that great! Had veal, but it was very very ordinary, very blunt cutlery as well to cut the veal. It was not tender and seasoning was too ordinary, no stimulation to my umami. Terrible service too, too little wine on every glass! The only course that was nice was the dessert, yet not that special. Even felt like going to a fast food joint after eating at such place. Unsatisfying! Such a pity! In general not impressed at all! Don’t go! Michelin rating for this place is too overrated!

Beatiful estate, next to the oldest natural forest from The Netherlands, King William 's former garden.
Great restaurant with a great selection of wines.
There's also an event building, with a great Ambiance.

Exquisite food, exceptional service who know in detail what they are serving whether wine or food (all too rare these days!), great ambiance. Looking forward to return!

consider the service and foods, it is very reasonable restaurant. the sommelier is very open and kind. maybe it looks bit formal but all together this is one of our favorite restaurant.

Very pleasant location if not for the numerous bees and flies (more than usual for an outdoor location). Food is good but not as outstanding as the high prices may have you expect.

Belcrum Beach offers a laid-back atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely day out with friends or family. This artificial beach is perfect for unwinding with some drinks or diving into that long-forgotten book. It's also a great place to keep the little ones entertained. While it can get lively during the summer, visiting on weekdays promises a more tranquil experience. The diverse crowd adds to the relaxed ambiance, allowing visitors to simply sit back and savor their surroundings.
Fun place especially during the summer. One of the nicest places to just hang out in breda. The food is a bit overpriced but if you have money to spend it's no problem and the scenery makes up for it.
Very nice Latin food at kachus!

Belcrum Beach is the city beach of Breda. It looks nice and is sunny decorated. When I was there, it was very quiet but I probably did not see everything. There are a lot of activities. You can have your parties on the beach and I think that will be nice. But, on an everage Sunday afternoon, it's very quiet.
Josina Hillsland — Google review
Mehh. The name would hint at a beach being present but there ISN'T. Its
It's basically a sandpit that offers a beach-ishh vibe and that's it. Sure there are a lot of drinks, food and activities for kids and adults but the fact that there's no water makes the name "Belcrum Beach" rather deceitful.

I didn't like the place. Hiwever someone else can like the place. Check it out yourself.

We went there, thinking that, it can offer a beach like experience, but it is a small canal side restaurant. We were wrong with our expectations.

Nice, relaxed experience, mixed crowd, nothing pretentious, just sit and enjoy a drink and the 'beach'.

The place is good but it shouldn’t be called a “beach” or even artificial beach. 😂
Stg. Cult.bel. Breda's Museum showcases local collections of various arts, including visual and applied arts, textiles, and photography. The museum features fascinating exhibitions such as "the master of light" exposition from Van Scheindel that draws visitors regularly. In addition to these exhibitions, the museum presents standard expositions in an informative and engaging manner.

(Translated by Google) It is an interesting museum because of the exhibits and the information it provides about the city. However, it presents certain deficiencies in my opinion. In the first place, he comments too briefly on the history of the city prior to the fourteenth century, especially considering that the nearby towns do not have museums of local history of this magnitude.
An English translation is missing on the museum panels, as the foreign visitor depends on the company of a native who translates each panel of the museum that interests him. It is also necessary to make certain parts of the exhibition more attractive, especially those referring to the contemporary era.
It has a lot of potential, especially for schools and secondary schools in the North Brabant area and even in the northern part of Belgium, given its proximity to this country.

The air in the exhibition spaces does not smell too fresh, air conditioning broken?
There is a lot of staff present who are bored, price tag?

The Sint-Antoniuskathedraal, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Anthony, is a significant religious site located in Breda. Built in 1837, this impressive waterstaatskerk was the first Catholic church to be officially constructed after a period of secrecy. It became the first bishop's church of the new Breda diocese and regained its cathedral status in 2001 after a 32-year absence.
De Antonius Kathedraal , is een rijk
uitgevoerde waterstaatskerk

I have also been here to see a cathedral, it is a simple architectural building, the interior is neat and tidy.
You will experience the serene tranquility upon entering. As in all churches, you can take beautiful photos at your leisure... But please note that the church is not always open!
A cathedral is literally a church where a bishop resides, the cathedral is dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua.
The demolished cathedral of the Prinsenkade, the Barbara Church, was more impressive. Until, in 1969, the demolition hammer made short work of the House of God.
But yes, the motto in Breda was demolition, but it was not possible from one church to another church was demolished.
The top turret resembles a Roman or Greek love temple, it is worth visiting this cathedral.

We also went to take a look at the Cathedral of the Diocese, St. Anthony's Cathedral. St. Anthony's Cathedral was built in 1837 according to a design by Pieter Huysers. That is quite a difference with the first Roman Catholic Church, the Church of Our Lady, which is much more majestic and much more beautiful in terms of structure. But yes, 1837 had a completely different and simpler architectural style. Inside, the church is a bit more decorated and certainly worth a visit.
