The Citadel of Saint-Tropez is a historical fortress that now houses a museum with nautical exhibits and a scenic roof terrace. The building dominates the hillside overlooking St-Tropez to the east, providing fantastic views of the bay. The museum focuses on Tropezienne and Provencal seafarers, tracing their history through fishing, trading, exploration, travel and naval warfare.
It’s a beautiful museum with a lot of interesting items related to ships and sailing. The museum is located in the fortress with nice views at the sea and city.

It's definitely worth the walk up to the top. Entry was only €4. Fabulous view of the bay, plus a museum with details of the nautical history of the area to the present day power boating. Art installation around the place of cool sculptures too. WC and water available.

We almost didn't make the climb. To be honest, we were in search of a restroom. The museum was all we could find at the time. SO GLAD WE DID THIS. The museum is excellent. It offers a complete history of the area and how the structure came to be. It also houses many interesting maritime artifacts and sailing ship-building exhibits.
The structure is beautifully preserved and has complete access for visitors.
The views from the Citadel are extraordinary. Across the bay, you can see the distant Alps. And the town of Saint-Tropez lays out below you. There's an unencumbered 360º view of the area that's just breathtaking. And . . . there are restrooms

Fortress-turned-museum, showcasing nautical exhibits, Saint-Tropez’s maritime history and famous figures. It also offered beautiful views of the bay.

Really recommend going here. The views you get are already worth 4 euro you pay.
The museum is also nice. Gives you an insight about the history from long ago to more recent events in the area. I do feel like they are trying to cover a lot of topics, which makes it all a bit of an inconsistent story to follow as you walk around. But that could also be because the signs are both French and English but the most of the sound clips are not.

The Annonciade Museum is an art museum in Saint-Tropez, housing a collection of paintings by prominent modern artists who worked in the town. The museum was first opened in 1950, and is known for its collection of works by Paul Signac, Georges Braque, Maurice Denis, and other notable artists of the early 20th century.
A surprisingly voluminous exhibition with some exciting paintings. Definitely worth the price of 4 euros. A nice surprise!

Chapel-turned-museum, Musee de l’Annonciade displayed amazing artwork by French artists like Signac, Marquet, Matisse and Rouault. Not the biggest museum and it felt more like an art gallery, but it remained a must visit while in Saint-Tropez.

It's CLOSED from January 10th thru February 15th. This small detail is mentioned only at the bottom of their home page. We showed dutifully on a Tuesday (Jan 17th) knowing that they are closed on Mondays to our great disappointment. They should make their seasonal closing dates more prominent on their homepage. Also Google does NOT have the seasonal closing dates and would lead to think that they are open. BTW many businesses and restaurants were closed. The classic chicken and the egg problem!

The Gendarmerie and Cinema Museum is located in a historical building that was previously used by the Gendarmerie Brigade of Saint-Tropez. This museum showcases local films, actors, and professions related to the cinema industry. The iconic place gained its popularity after being featured in The gendarme series movies. Visitors can explore exhibitions with posters, funny memories and discover various aspects of film-making on the peninsula.
I was there in August, that time it was busy and you had to wait in the queue to get to the museum, but it was totally worth it. A lot of funny memories and posters about movies with Louis de Fines. Another part is devoted to Brigitte Bardot, another star of St Tropez. There is also a small, but very nice souvenir shop.

I used to watch all parts of Troops of St Tropez as a kid. They were very popular.in Poland and back in a day, late 80s amd early 90s, St Tropez was unreachable for me. After many years I had a chance to visit the area and couldn't give it a miss.
Very friendly staff and the tickets are reasonably priced. Plenty of souvenirs to choose from as well. The museum consists of three levels inc ground floor. Apart from Troops of St Tropez it also focuses on cinema from that era and actors such as Brigitte Bardot or Alain Delon.

Port de Saint Tropez is a charming harbor that attracts many luxury yachts and boats. Located in the town of Saint-Tropez in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, it is a popular marina reservation choice on the French Riviera. During summer months, it is full of life with vessels of all sizes mooring here. The harbor offers spectacular views and is lined with picturesque cafes and shops. Visitors can enjoy takeaway food while watching the sunset from big rocks by the sea.
A must see ! We did a boat trip from Cannes to Saint Tropez! Food trucks, sightseeing, water and the beaches are worth to visit and enjoy.

Visiting the Port de Saint-Tropez again was a delight. The weather was still warm for October, storm Ciarán wasn't on the horizon yet and... few tourists about. Yachts varied, as per usual, from the expensive yet butt ugly to the absolutely stunning beauties such as the ones in the below pictures.

It is a pleasant place to walk and look at the yachts.. and when you get tired you stop at a terrace.. to eat something and drink a glass of good wine. Pedestrian access is allowed and you can even rent boats or go on excursions. In certain periods you can also see very expensive yachts...

I heard so much about St Tropez that I skipped other places just to be here. It was very unfortunate that it wasn't as I expected. We took a ferry from Nice on Tuesday. There was town market at the market square. I didn't find anything really special there. Of course there were rows of high end boutiques and shops for those who go for branded goods. The self operated public toilet which cost 50 cent was very dirty. The only cafe we found was the one near the market square. There were many restaurants at the port. Personally, will not be going there again.

Stunning marina filled with impressive yachts from all over the world making St Tropez a very pretty port town. Nearby is the Gendarmerie Nationale which made St Tropez famous in the cinema world, including Brigitte Bardot, with a statue dedicated to her next to the building. Great little spot. A nice little oasis. Nothing like super-special. But enough benches and trees to make it nice. There's a fountain, of course. During Christmas it's decked out with live trees, many flocked, and has a nice festive look. In the center is an ice rink - two, actually - one for little ones, the other for more accomplished skaters.
Along the each side street is a collection of restaurants and places to grab food to eat in the park. Super spot to rest up, have a casual bite, take in Bocci game, and watch Saint-Tropez life go by

The charming and well-maintained cemetery Marin de Saint Tropez is a popular place to visit in Saint-Tropez. The grounds are adorned with interesting sculptures and memorials, making it a peaceful oasis in the busy city. The cemetery is especially popular with tourists who want to take photos of the beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Chapelle Sainte-Anne, nestled in a pine grove on Mont Pecoulet near Saint-Tropez, was built in 1618 and has been a place of pilgrimage for sailors seeking protection from St. Anne before their voyages. The chapel offers a magnificent view of St. Tropez and the bay, making it a peaceful and charming spot to visit. However, access can be challenging due to narrow roads, with limited parking available at the foot of the chapel.
It is a distant view of Saint Tropez but it is still beautiful with all of the pin trees. There isn't much to do in Saint Tropez so I would put this and the Citadelle on the list

The historic hotel La Ponche, which has contributed to making Saint Tropez known during the New Wave era, houses on its small terrace facing the sea the Mediterranean restaurant of chef Thomas Danigo. The menu is fresh and classical, drawing fromItalian traditions that are not usually seen and Provencal ones: fish soup, red mullet ceviche with citrus / sorbet basilicum, daily catch of fish, oyster stew with lobster and crab.
Glamourous small hotel in the heart of St Tropez. Excellent staff/service/food. Cannot express how exceptional this hotel is. Were treated like celebrities. Dog friendly and they made so much fuss of our dog. The chef even made him dog biscuits with his name on. Hotel and large rooms/beautiful bathrooms spotless. Many little extras of great quality. What an extraordinary lunch experience I had at la Ponche! From the impeccable service to the absolutely delicious food and the beautiful setting, it was a delight from start to finish. To begin, I savoured a delightful glass of fruity and crisp rosé wine. If my memory serves me right, it was called Angel Wings or perhaps Tears—either way, it was a perfect choice. The combination of tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella salad was simple yet unbelievably scrumptious, making it an ideal starter for a hot day. I also had the pleasure of sampling a refreshing and cooling pea, mint, and basil gazpacho that my partner thoroughly enjoyed. It was another well-suited dish for the warm weather.
Although I'm generally not a big fan of risotto, I decided to give it a try due to its intriguing flavours of hazelnut and artichoke. To my surprise, it surpassed my expectations. The use of spelt as the base instead of rice added a fantastic al dente texture, and the nutty flavour complemented the dish superbly, both in taste and texture. At this point, I was already quite full, but I couldn't resist exploring their dessert options. I opted for a lighter choice, the lemon mousse. It was beautifully zesty, light with tender shards of meringue on top—a true delight. Additionally, I was fortunate enough to sample my partner's cherry and pistachio tart, which was absolutely divine. The distinct pistachio flavour perfectly harmonised with the gently cooked cherries. Thumbs up on all levels!
Overall, my experience at la Ponche was exceptional, with delightful flavours and a perfect balance of tastes and textures.
To add to the already amazing experience, I had the incredible opportunity to witness Eugene Levy and Joan Collins filming together in one of the rooms at the establishment. It took me a couple of double takes to confirm that I was indeed seeing what I thought I saw. It was an unexpected and exciting surprise to witness such renowned actors in action.

Canoubiers beach is a large and popular sand beach located in the town of St.Tropez. It is situated close to the major road and easy to access, making it a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and boating. The beach features trees that provide shade, and there is often plenty of space available for camping. Canoubiers is also great place to go sailing or windsurfing.
Plage des Canoubiers is one of the most famous and popular of them all. We came here for mini golf in the midday around 3pm , we were the only ones on the course which was great . It was really hot , but we took our time because we had no pressure from other players .
The lady on reception was friendly and spoke English and explained everything to us which was also a plus .
Toilets are very clean and are situated just next to the bar .
We didn't try any of the food or drink but there is a bar area that serves food snacks etc etc .
The course itself was decent it took us a while to get around and felt good value for money €12.50 per adult and you get two rounds of 18 on an easy course and a harder course .
Everyone mentioned the mosquito in other reviews , yes they are there . We went on a windy hot day and we only got bitten a tiny bit . However I can imagine if you were to play in the evening or night you might be a buffet for them .

(Translated by Google) A small charming place up on the mountain called “Gassin”
Not far from St. Tropez is this small town where it is said that many artists used to have their home here.
It definitely has an artistic flair to walk through the small streets and look into almost every living room
Also from that
From the vantage point you have a great view of the Côte d'Azur and the mountainous landscape
There are also a few good restaurants in the immediate vicinity

(Translated by Google) Super beautiful little place above Saint Tropez that we almost overlooked.
There are both extremely old buildings and beautiful new ones here. As announced, there were very wide, beautiful alleys as well as the narrowest alley in the world at only 29cm.
You can drive your car all the way to the top of the parking lot, where there are public toilets (great with 2 children!) and the Office du Tourisme right next to the parking lot.
There we asked for a map and the lady invited us on a scavenger hunt through Gassin. Our two children each received a booklet (in English or French) and we all had a lot of fun on the trip. Of course we had to help the 5-year-old, but he was also enthusiastic about it.
Once the child has solved all the questions, they receive a diploma from the Office du Tourisme.
We really enjoyed our stay and recommend everyone to stay in beautiful Gassin.

The Tourist Office of Saint-Tropez is a great resource for tourists looking to learn more about the area. They offer a variety of services, including advice on where to eat and stay, as well as tours of the area.
We came from Cagnes-sur-Mer for one day to visit the famous Saint Tropez. Very nice place. The harbor is lively and nicely arranged. We relaxed a bit with refreshments. In the late afternoon we drove back satisfied.

St. Tropez really is a quaint French fishing port which has developed over the years. Now full of impressive yachts and very expensive shops. We really enjoyed the experience because it is a ‘place to visit’. We went via the shuttle boat (with all the social distancing and hygiene procedures in place). The harbour is lovely to walk around and there is obviously a historic interest. A very calm, clean and place full of bars and restaurants. Prices are high as perhaps you would expect but nevertheless well worth a visit. Hygiene procedures are in place during these challenging times but are sensible and necessary. The little streets are pleasant to explore with a few artisan shops amongst the ‘big names’. Certainly an town of wealth but still retaining charm which you expect from the French.
This is a very cool place, lots to see and do. There are so many people, though. The city is one of the most known in the Riviera, and it shows. There are restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and so much opulence. This is a highlight in town. Iconic - the best people watching! Grab a seat and watch huge boats moor after a day out on the water. All sorts of people - watching people watching them. The harbour is full of luxurious yachts but there is also a dirty smell that lingers. The front has ‘tat’ shops or overpriced restaurants. You need to escape away from the harbour to see the lovely old town.

This is the closest I could come to a site where I could leave a review for Saint-Tropez in general. I didn't actually use the Visitor Center. We were totally captivated by this town.
We drove over from Manosque and found plenty of parking at very affordable rates. Wonderful collection of shops and attractions. And people could not have been friendlier. At a cashmere store Just Birdie, we asked for a lunch recommendation. My daughter (fluent in French) ended up in extended convo with the shop owner, who ultimately took us to another shop for a second opinion. It was like that everywhere we went!
While the have a super-upscale shopping street with Dior, Rolex, etc. there is plenty of reasonably priced local shopping. Also a great variety of restaurants. We really enjoyed the park in the center of town where they had a Christmas display and ice rinks.
I highly recommend a climb to The Citadel if you visit. The views are indescribable.

Saint-Tropez or Sant-Troupès in Provençal dialect is a town on the French Riviera, It was a military stronghold and fishing village until the beginning of the 20th century. It was the first town on this coast to be liberated during World War II as part of Operation Dragoon. After the war, it became an internationally known seaside resort, renowned principally because of the influx of artists of the French New Wave in cinema and the Yé-yé movement in music. It later became a resort for the European and American jet set and tourists.

Popped in yesterday to ask for information about the coastal walk. The guy who helped us was super friendly and helpful, and really enthusiastic about making sure we planned the best walk for what we wanted, where our car was parked etc. He marked the route clearly on a map for us and gave us a couple of other useful leaflets. Thank you so much!

Not sure why some of the negative reviews, this tourist office was super friendly and helpful. And they do NOT charge for maps and other tourist literature. Highly recommend a stop here!
The Château Minuty is a celebrated winery with some of the best wine in Saint-Tropez. The vineyards are situated high up in the hills, giving the wine its distinctively floral and aromatic flavor. The winery has an intimate tasting room with friendly staff, and offers free tastings.
We had the best experience at Minuty. Wonderful tour and tasting and so very well looked after by Pauline who was a superb host.
Thank you so much.

Exquisite taste of wine, delicate aroma and unique bottle design. Here you can taste 3 different wines for free and buy what you like.

Very beautiful setting, but the staff was very rude, unhelpful and didn't have any knowledge about the wine they were selling. The wine itself was very mediocre (We tasted the Minuty Prestige). To avoid at all cost, there is better wineries in the area.

Very good looking cave. The Blanc et Or is worth trying and buying. Taste will always be something to debate on. A special white wine for which the grapes are picked which are more to the sea and therefor a more mineral or salty after taste. Good with 'fruits de mer'

We walked in and after 5 minutes without trying anything we walked straight back out again. Given 3 stars for those that like a minimalist, stylised, corporate feel atmosphere. Not for us.

So glad we got to visit this winery because we have tried one of the rose wines in the US. The property is gorgeous, the wine tasting excellent, but the servers were exceptional!

A wonderful very modern tasting room with a friendly staff. The premiere rose was fantastic. There is a chapel on the grounds, but unfortunately, it was not open. The vineyards are extensive and carefully cared for. Well worth a visit. Tastings are free and you choose the pace.

It was incredibly packed, staff was really rude and got annoyed when we asked for a little more explanation about the options before choosing which wines to taste. And none of the options seemed really good. There are plenty of places around with better quality and service.

We already knew the taste of the wine but not all kinds. Thank yo very much Martine for explaining to us everything else and telling us the story behind this amazing family business. After short family debate we will definitely see you next year.

Not worth the trip.
Absolutely amazing grounds... But the service at the tasting was faulty, at best.
We went there with the knowledge of that no tours were offered but we thought it would be more like a museum so we could learn something, but no. Not even those who served us told us anything about the wines.
The prices for buying bottles are higher than in stores, unless you buy 6+ bottles of 1 kind.
Located in the South of France, Domaine Tropez produces delicious wines. The rose is a popular flavor among wine drinkers. The wine cellar sells both red and white wines, as well as sparkling wines.
Amazing wine testing today, amazing wines and very skilled sommelier

Visited yesterday with our children. Had a wonderful experience. We were only there to purchase some wine and glasses in the shop but had a lovely drink with a beautiful view over the vineyard. Such a wonderful place to visit and see. Extremely hospitable and very friendly, we left very happy. Definitely coming back next year. Thank you so much.
