The botanical gardens at the university were established in the 19th century and feature a variety of tropical plants housed within several greenhouses. The gardens are open to the public and offer an extensive array of floral displays, including succulents, terrariums, and carnivorous plants. Additionally, visitors can observe fish within the lotus ponds. Guided tours and other activities are available through their website at no cost.
This is a really nice place if you are interested in flowers and also a great place to bring children. There are countless amounts of different varieties of flowers, succulents, terrariums of some other plants, carnivorous plants and more. They also maintain fishes in the lotus ponds, which children might enjoy. They have guided tours and other activities that you can book through their website. There's no entry fee. Unfortunately, Glass (Green) House was closed when I visited, due to COVID restrictions, but I could see it from outside and it's beautiful too.

Superb variation of plants, easy walking access throughout. The ponds and tropical areas were a highlight. Took an hour to walk through the indoor displays and only some of the outdoor gardens!

The Botanical Garden will be interesting for both adults and children. In addition to outdoor plants, it has greenhouses with tropical and heat-loving plants, as well as a pond with large and small goldfishes. Part of the garden is reserved for the garden with aromatic herbs and called Aroma Garden.

My visit there happened to be on a rainy day and actually the rain made the walk better. It's a beautiful well kept garden. The only issue with it is that the information about the plants is only in German and there is none available in other languages (or at least I couldn't find it).
Lewis Anderson — Google review
Even though it's a small botanical garden, one can find many beautiful and/or interesting plants; some of which (as in the case of mangrove and nepenthes) I haven't seen in more sizeable gardens.
Besides, it's well taken care of, free of charge (there is the possibility to make a donation if one enjoys its time there) and located in the city centre.

The Botanical Garden Erlangen is a fantastic destination for anyone interested in plant life and nature. Not only is it a beautiful and serene space, but it's also completely free to enter, making it a great budget-friendly option.
The garden features a diverse range of flora from around the world, including a large collection of orchids, succulents, and tropical plants. Visitors can explore several themed areas, including a Japanese garden, a Mediterranean section, and a collection of native plants from the surrounding region.
One of the highlights of the Botanical Garden Erlangen is its large greenhouse, which houses a stunning variety of tropical plants and trees. It's a great place to escape the cold and rainy weather of Erlangen and immerse yourself in a lush and vibrant environment.
Overall, I highly recommend the Botanical Garden Erlangen as a must-visit attraction for anyone interested in plants, nature, or just looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to spend an afternoon. And best of all, it won't cost you a penny to enjoy!

Facing a baroque palace now part of a university, this park has flower beds, lawns & 1700s statues.
This is one of my favourite places in Erlangen. It is always so well taken care of and there are many beautiful flowers. I am so excited to go there again since all the flowers started to appear 🪷🌸💮🏵️🌺. It is the perfect place for taking a walk, drawing, reading, having a picnic and playing some sports. Especially on sunny days, it's so healing and refreshing to be there.

If you're looking for a relaxing outdoor space in the heart of Erlangen, look no further than Schlossgarten. This park is located right in the middle of the city and offers a great place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
One of the highlights of Schlossgarten is the variety of different castles and buildings located within the park. Each one has its own unique character and history, making it a great spot for history buffs and architecture enthusiasts. The botanical garden is also a must-see, featuring a diverse range of flora from around the world.
Overall, Schlossgarten is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening, whether you're looking to relax with a book, have a picnic, or take a leisurely stroll through the park. The peaceful and tranquil atmosphere makes it a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Erlangen!

Schloss means castle. Because the garden is behind or part of an old castle which is now the Administrative Building for FAU. The park has multiple entry points. Inside the park there’s a restricted botanical garden. You can also see that if you visit in time. The park has some sculptures and a very scenic fountain. Visit and take some pictures and may be enjoy the peaceful ambience.

Great museum for people interested in the history of imaging, although they have some other stuff there. Had the chance to see the first RöFo :) They have some nice free texts in German and English about the history of the different imaging modalities. if you have a chance to speak to Mrs. Braun, the curator, you will learn a lot of interesting things. and a bonus: they have a decent coffee shop in front.

Inspiring museum that documents the history of Siemens contribution to Health tech. Absolutely a must visit if you are visiting Erlangen. The touch screen panel about different Siemens Healthineers location, the outside gallery about cinematic imagery, the ECG machines, history of X ray machines and various ms other health tech made by Siemens makes for an inspiring morning/ afternoon. It will take atleast 3/4 hours to see all of them with some depth. And they have English guides but has to be booked in advance - please check their website for this. Even without a guided it’s totally worth going here - Kudos to Siemens for creating this

We took a chance to visit the lake even though the reviews said it's not ideal to swim today and was pleased to find that we could!! The water was clean and partly clear, very refreshing in this weather. There were so many people soaking on the sun and the atmosphere was very summery. So many people took their own paddle boards and even rentals was available. Basic facilities like a tpiket, ourdoor showers, eateries and also takeaway kiosks for you to make that sunny day put count. 😎

It wasn't quite five stars because
1 – the tourist information is not really well signposted and easy to find
and
2 - you share the room with the bus information office, so half of the office was in the dark and unoccupied this weekend, which seems pretty small-town and unprofessional in a city like Erlangen.

The black woman at front of WC is so rude. We would like to change our twins pampers, another black woman already told us no changing table, so we said no problem because I can change their pampers and their grandma held them. There was a rude black woman walk out from inside when we were finishing no.1 and spoke their language (not English or deutsch). When we wanted to start no.2 the drama comes.. she said we can’t do that because no table. I said we don’t need table, she still said we can’t change it. I said we didn’t make any dirty and this is shopping mall.. there are many kids or families come to shopping, so we (who has kids) need to change their pampers in toilet. She said we can’t do that and we have to speak with her boss. I asked what’s your problem? Your shopping mall has no changing table that’s not our problem, if you have problem.. go to talk by yourself. She said she does have kid and still said come with me and talk with her boss. I said I’m your customer, I bring money to buy stuffs at this shopping mall so you should not be rude like this. She asked me “how much you paid for shop” … omg… this made me so angry!!!. I told my husband to find her manager.. my husband asked them where is your manager. They said don’t know (that’s weird because she just date us). When her boss shew up.. she said she told us no table. I said we don’t need table and we didn’t do your toilet dirty at all and there are changing table signs above and we just following the sign until this toilet. So, when her boss shew up. She changed her word so fast … she said she told us no changing table and I still wanna go in… then I said I don’t need a changing table! And if you don’t want we go in, you have to stop us before we walk-in to toilet or start opening our babies pants. And this is climax… she changed her word may be coz her boss stand her with us… she said oh! I thought you need a table if you don’t need that’s fine, no problem… I felt like wth.. I kept telling her that but she yelled to me and dare me to find her manager but now she understood thing so fast… hmmm I think her job tells us everything your she be kinda person but other housekeepers are so good , this is the first person I’ve ever seen that be bit** I’m so upset that the global shopping mall has staffs so rude like this. I won’t come back here again!!

This is the best place if you need to buy a gift item in the center of the Erlangen city. The prices are OK but some of them are a bit expensive. It has almost every item you need, from jewelry, textile, bags, shoes etc. Though it has no easily accessible own parking, one could use the parking lot on top of Arcarden shopping mall (but you have to pay for parking) or can park behind the building (where you can find ample parking spaces on road for a cheaper parking ticket). I would recommend it due to its great collection and the convenient location. Also the quality of the products sold here are good or reasonable.

Thought I got a nice jacket for the kid, but the zipper was malfunctioning. In a proper store, this is not a problem at all, you return it, they complain to their suppliers, end of story. However the employee thought it'd be a good idea to refuse and disagree. Never again.

At first glance it is not immediately clear what exactly the depiction in the fountain is about. So you're drawn closer and closer to the fountain until you finally recognize the scene. If you then take your eyes off the fountain and look around, you will notice in what an exposed place the former "Emigrants' Fountain" is located. Not far from the orangery and in the middle of a park like I have never seen before. This ensemble somehow reminded me of some of the castles and gardens that were built under King Ludwig II.
But although for me the highlight of the sights to be found here has been reached, I recommend a short walk in the beautiful park. There is still a lot to see...

"Was will ich mehr?"
