Champs-sur-Marne is a municipality situated in the eastern outskirts of Paris, France. The town is positioned at a distance of 18.2 km from the heart of Paris and is part of the Seine-et-Marne Departments within the Île-de-France region.
Island Recreation Vaires-Torcy is a large recreational area with a lakeside beach, paddle boats, canoeing, and food outlets. However, accessing the attraction by foot can be unsafe due to the lack of proper walkways from the nearest village. The entrance to the attraction via a narrow two-lane carriageway is not well-maintained and disgustingly littered with human excrements.

Lake with sandy beach and supervised swimming areas, water sports, water slides, shop. Great if you don’t mind being very close to nature in the form of geese and their droppings. However, there are a number of clean wooden platforms to sit on. Entrance costs 5,90 euros per grown-up and 3,9 per child.

Entrance fee cost €5.50 to enter. Some facilities are not available. U can only swim in a small area and water is not so deep. If you run out of things to do, then it is nice to spend a few hours there.

Very bad organization to sell tickets we have been waited for 2 hours just to enter(weekend). Even online tickets need to be exchanged to paper ones, so you are still waiting in queue. There are a lot of people inside, a very small zone for swimming. The daily ticket is 5.90 euro per person(2023). Do not recommend at weekend.

Love it, one of the best place to visit near Paris. Only 30 to 40 min from Paris. Artificial Beach or you can say it's a lake. Best for family short tour or hangout with friends.

Recreation grounds is ok place. It wasn't that crowdy as we came after 16:00. Please be aware, that to come by foot is not safe as there is no proper walkway from nearest village to the attraction. We were walking by the higway and cars were just zipping by. To enter to the attraction grounds there is very narrow two ways carriageway and we found this pathway along canal( first 2 pictures!). However, it was so disgusting walking by it - there were human excrements all over. Local authorities have no shame to have entrance to such major attraction in such disarray 😠
Inside there is only one food outlet. Hotdog's cost around €5 and big 1.5 lt water bottle is €2.30. You can take your own food inside.

Together with a friend we attended a festival. It is a long distance walk from train station. No public transport available. Obviously the rain doesn't help .
If you think to attend any festival bear in mind that. Have your own transport as parking is free and be prepared for the elements. Wish we knew those things before.
Other than that, the location is beautiful. Beware of organizers.

Free parking, accessible if you arrive around 10, good for kids (there are plenty). Still, it gets overcrowded, dirty. There is green area but swimming is not really a pleasant experience, the water is cold and dirty. Forget the toilettes. The cafeteria is a snack bar that prepares overpriced and overfried things. Extremely loud music (by the owners/organizers!).

It's a beach organized as a public pool. 6 euro per person, children 4. Beach is not open for public outside vacation time and in spring and autumn outside weekends.
