The Trojan Statue is a towering steel and fiberglass sculpture of the horse from Greek mythology, famously used in the 2004 movie "Troy." It was gifted to the city of Canakkale, located approximately 25 kilometers from the ancient city of Troy. Situated near the sea amidst numerous restaurants and cafes, it boasts a small open-air museum showcasing a model of ancient Troy.
"Visiting the Trojan Horse statue in Canakkale was an incredible experience! The attention to detail in the sculpture is remarkable, capturing the essence of the legendary Trojan War. It's amazing the see the actual figure of this very known Trojan Statue. Quite big which is made of huge hollow wooden horse.
Amazing. 🧡 Very touristic place.

Interesting sculpture right in the port of Çanakkale. It looks far better and more realistic than one at the Troya historic site. One stop place when you visit Çanakkale.

Beautiful just as shown in all the photos.
I am sure it's even more beautiful in the evening when lights are shone on the display etc.
No waiting, no tickets needed we parked up nearby and walked then viewed the statue.
It is quite breathtaking to see it after longing to see for many years.
Well worth visiting, it's a nice marine/harbour nearby as well to walk along.

The large wooden horse used in the most recent Troy film starring Brad Pitt. Worth the short walk down the waterfront from the ferry port to see it. Better quality than the other replicas located around the region.

It is amazing to see the same Trojan horse used in “Troy” movie here in this beautiful city.
The statue was presented as a gift to the city of Çanakkale , located about 25 km from the ancient city of Troy.
It is located near the sea in the middle of a large area full of restaurants and cafes.
I enjoyed taking pictures of the place.
Also, it has a small museum in the open air next to it, with a model of ancient Troy.

Dropped by to see the model of the Trojan horse used in the movie Troy because the model at the Troy Ancient City was under repair.
No big deal, but the waterfront location is nice though.

A great statue to see and say you have been to see. From the film Troy it's probably the closest we will ever get to Brad Pitt 😂

An undeniable point of attraction for visitors to the port city of Canakkale. We love history, but we also love historical legends, especially if they are screened. Although the city of Troy was long believed to be a myth, the fact that the ruins of the Homeric city of Troy have been found may be a grain of truth in Homer's work. I do not dispute the fact that many times cinematographic productions influence us, but we must admit that the film Troy opened the way for our creative imagination and created for us a fragment of history mentioned by Homer but in a Hollywood interpretation. Thus we come to believe that if the Trojan horse really existed, it must have been similar to the one in Canakkale. All respect for the creators of this iconic symbol!

A mall in the Canakkale region, actually between Canakkale and Kepez. From what I saw, they only have underground parking and it's a bit dark, but there are quite a few places. It is an open mall concept, with an inner courtyard with a pool of water, with enough shops for clothes, food, shoes, interior design, accessories, etc. I don't know why almost all fast food in the mall had a rather low rating, so we looked for another area to eat

Right next to the fortress of Kilitbahir is the bastion. It was built in 1885 by French engineers. He plays the most important role through WWI. There are 20 huge German cannons. Only 100 rounds are fired throughout the war. The reason is in British ships. They are equipped with larger and more accurate guns. Now the bastion is a historical monument. A few kilometers south there is another similar bastion, but smaller.

I found out myself that people are also insensitive, but many places, mostly municipalities, are like this. They are wonderful beaches, but I think they will become unaccessible in a few years due to this lack of maintenance and indifference.

The municipality etc. does not make any noise, there were about 10 more tents, you won't feel alone, but the people who come after 10 o'clock in the evening are terrible, during the day it is mostly a family beach and although the kekos come, in the evening all young stray groups come. Not to mention the loud singing and harassment of people in the tent (twice in one night). It is never recommended if you are going to camp alone. The sea was quite wavy and extremely dirty, but the sea on the marina side was much nicer.

The Military Marine Museum is a vast indoor and outdoor venue that showcases historical sailing vessels, cannons, and other military artillery. The museum includes exhibits on the Canakkale war, Cimenlik Castle, and the Nusret Mine Ship. While admission for students is free, adults must pay 13 Liras to enter. Visitors can expect to spend around two hours exploring the fascinating displays inside the museum.
The museum is inside the Ottoman castle, Çimenlik Kalesi, which used to be our destination to spend time by the seaside sitting on a bench in the good old days. Now you get access only by buying a ticket, which is sad. Yet inside the castle, they created a great atmosphere of memories of Canakkale Battle. Inside the castle, you may spend some relaxing time even though you don't like the war stuff, because the castle is really beautiful under the dim yellow light.

good museum. the fortress is worth seeing. we spent 2 hours there with the kids. there is a real periscope. one drawback - the employee refused to sell a ticket for 60 lira for a residence permit. he said that a ticket for 60 lira is only for a citizen of the Turkish Republic. The courtyard and the view over the straight must be very nice during warm season, although one can enjoy it in winter as well.

The moment you walk through that green door, you will enter the room where time is pointless. Because everything you will hear from amazing storyteller Mrs Emine, has already happened, it's happening right now and will happen again and again and again as long as mankind exist. Her amazing storytelling will get you to the distant past where Menelaus, Odysseus, Achilles, Helen, Paris, Hecuba and many others lived, hated, made war and love. You will see on her amazing mosaics everything you need, to enter that timeless world. But I don't want to reveal everything here. You'll need to discover it for yourself with guidance of this amazing woman - Mrs Emine

Absolutely unexpected, prepare yourself to meet an Homeric orator! Soon after she begins telling the story of the last 51 days of the 10-year-long Trojan War, you won't have time to resist to be driven into the magic world of Troy. Enchanted as it is, finally you might find yourself in the embodiment of one of the characters. It is going to be a difficult choice though ! Since each one them is enhanced with passion and compassion thorough your journey in the myth. You will be accompanied by 43 mosaic portraits of the protagonists, all shaped by the artist, Emine Daloglu, our Homeric orator. Her eloquence stems from her in depth knowledge of this specific history. I suspect she has read the legend from hundred different sources, as she mastered the various interpretations. Anyways you are going to find much more than you can imagine. Not to be missed by anyone who is curious about the heroes of Iliad. And much recommended for the ones who visit the Troya Museum and excavation site as a complementary.
