Barrage de Malpasset is a historical landmark that stands as an impressive testament to the power of nature. The concrete arch dam ruptured in 1959, leading to a catastrophic flood that claimed many lives. The site features massive concrete blocks with reinforced steel beams scattered across the valley. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the dam on foot from the parking lot, and another 10 minutes to continue along the trail towards the lake.
Beautiful surreal landscape and ruins given the tragedy of 1959, well worth a visit, free car park, not many humans there on a Monday morning even though extremely hot

Impressive landmark which shows the sheer power of the water when the dam burst in 1959. Massive concrete blocks with reinforced steel beams are shattered across the valley. From the parking lot it will take you about 20 minutes to reach the dam (walking) and another 10 to continue the trail towards the lake. Don't forget to bring some water, there is not a lot of shade around the trail and summer temperatures can be high.

Mont Vinaigre is a stunning mountain peak with a forested landscape that offers breathtaking views of Saint-Tropez and the Bay of Cannes in France. The path leading up to the top of the mountain is concreted, making it easily accessible for all hikers. While occasional bikers may disturb the silence, the view from its summit overlooking Frejus Bay and Mediterranean Sea is truly incredible.

Then there are all the little side paths to trudge along, our 2 year old daughter gets the hang of it with a little help but nothing insurmountable! Always bring good shoes! The landscape is just magnificent, especially when the view is clear! The flora is varied, incredible scents, some fruit trees like arbutus trees! Luna Park Frejus is an amusement park that offers a variety of exciting rides, carnival games, and activities for visitors of all ages. In addition to thrill rides like the red rollercoaster and water activities, there are also plenty of options for younger children to enjoy. While parking may not be the best, overall it's a nice park worth visiting. Reviews indicate that prices can be high but with discounts available it's still considered highly recommended.
Nice park, with a lot of different attractions, for children as well for adults. We enjoyed it. The attraction cost is from 5 to 7€ for a ride per person, only the Skyrider is 30€ for a ride/person.
I really liked the magic mountain rollercoaster. I bought several tickets.
It was not crowded like in other amusement parks. we were there around 22.30.
The food was really good, I ate a kebab.

Free entry, which is super lovely because it makes it as expensive/as affordable as you want it to be! They check your bags on the way in to make sure you aren't taking in anything prohibited. There are a huge range of different rides aimed at different age ranges, from young children to adults. One of my favourite parts of Luna Park was the food! They had a number of ice cream/slushie/bubble tea stalls, with one of the biggest varieties of flavours I've ever seen! The fairground games are all fairly typical, but it creates a really fun and exciting atmosphere to walk around. There is seating around the edges of the park where you can sit down for free, which I thought was fantastic. Overall I'd definitely, definitely recommend Luna Park for an evening out if you're in Frejus!

We loved this that we went consecutive nights. Well there was a downpour the first night so we had to go home after an hour. Kids wanted to go back the next night. We had the discount card and knew from reviews that it was going to be expensive but definitely worth a visit. We did about 10 of the activities in total. No queues when we were there 9pm on a Monday in July. The red rollercoaster was great and the water activities were super (you get wet). Plenty for our kids who are u8 to do. Highly recommended

A large amount of rides with something for everyone. Most rides are around €5 each but are discounted if you have one of the cards that are available in most local supermarkets. You will need to take cash as none of the rides take cards and there are no ATMs on site.

Nice Park, It reminds ne of my childhood and it has a lot of grate attractions
Aqualand Fréjus is a massive aquatic amusement park that offers an array of thrilling slides and chutes suitable for families. Visitors are advised not to purchase tickets online as the queues are three times longer. It's best to arrive at the park's opening time, and when purchasing food, visitors should know that cash payments are not accepted. Instead, they must load money onto special design bracelets or pay with a card at reception.
Just come back from the aqualand - main point is to Not buy online ticket as the queue its 3 times longer, 2nd to arrive exactly on open times, and third when buying a food best to know is that you cannot pay cash - you have to go to reception and add cash into a special design bracelets ( or you could pay with card).
Overall we enjoyed the time there - plenty of slides, 2 big splash areas for little ones .. will definitely come back again !

Been to a few water parks in Europe now. I'd almost describe it as an airport waterpark, charges well for everything and leaves you wondering how you ended up there.
More shade for the cars than the people. There is only 1 really fast moving slide, everything else is 60min plus (cobra and the one beside it, maybe two hours), unless you have fast pass, which for a family of 5 would bring the bill to 250. From 11.00 to 13.10 we managed one slide and an abandoned queue. Maybe that's now European norm, but no, not a great experience. My kids generally love the parks and it's a chore to get them to leave but all wanted to get home by 14.00. So it's and expensive sunbathing spot.
Only plus is you can bring your own food and drink in. We'll with it as a bottle of water 0.5l is €3.80. We will be back to France again, but will spend the money on bubble gum, baguettes or wine rather than here.

It's a nice aquapark, lots of slides and pools but make sure you come early.
Downside: very expensive for families.
Tip: take enough food and drinks with you
Food € 10
Drink € 5
Fastpass: €15 if you don't buy it don't bother to go to this park.
Park entrance: € 29
Bed or seat : € 4
Parking car: €4

Hereby some IMPORTANT TIPS from my visit from yesterday:
Be on time!! 10.00 is far too late. 09.15 max is a good time. After 09.30 the line will be many and many and many meters long.
All days in the summer holiday will be busy.
If you arrive at 9-ish you can park your car outside the Aqualand for free, just next to the roundabout. Payed parking is 4 EUR. Waiting line is a separate line.
Reserve your tickets online. So you don't have to wait it in the Tickets line. Go the the entrance lines.
Buy fastpass tickets. Regular: 20 EUR (limited to a mx number of slides). Premium: 30 EUR (unlimited). If you dont buy those tickets, expext waiting time 60-90 minutes for a slide. With a faspass ticket it is a few minutes. You can only buy the tickets IN the park at the Aquashop (2nd line). NOT in advance, NOT at the tickets counter! Fastpass tickets do only work for the most famous slides. Limited tickets available?
Buy a ticket for a bed 4 EUR and a locker 7 EUR at the aquashop. You will get 2 EUR back from the locker at the Aquashop of you get the key back to them. The beds will be checked if you pay for them and if you lie on the bed. If you only leave a towel on a bed, and you are not at the bed, your bed will not be checked (free bed).
However, plenty of trees to put your towel under (shadow) next to the purple slide.
Take your own drinks with you.
Buying food tickets in advance online does not make sense. You have to wait in the same line as everbody else. To use the tickets, you HAVE TO go first to the ticket office. You will get two coupons to spend at the restaurant. You cannot give the QR code directly at the restaurant!
The photo with the birds will cost you 15 EUR for one and 25 EUR for two. You can decide if you have seen the photos later in the day. Card and cash.
Paying with cash is difficult in general.
Expect some ants in your coffee or drink.
Vertigo slide waiting time, even with fastpass, is 2-3 hours. Just mad, bloody mad. Just don't do it (and you will burn from the sun in the waiting line), or do it as first or last slide on your day. Just use all the other slides instead of waiting for the Vertigo. This slide has had accidents in the past.
All these tips are from my own experience and not listed (yet) on the FAQ of the park. I think they will be handy!
Constantijn en Liza van Kooten Niekerk — Google review
Kids will love it but from my perspective it's focused on earning money only. Parking paid. Lockers paid. Sunbeds paid. Waiting time to biggest attractions was (mid Aug) one hour but hey you can always buy a past pass and skip the queue. I understand that they want to earn money but it looked like they wanted to make you angry and tired waiting in a line and seeing the staff letting the paid line go first.
Grzegorz Czekaj — Google review
Great set of slides (family of 4 with 11 and 9 year old), but queues are huge if you don't get the fast pass - which is well worth it, if you're only going once and want to get around all the slides.
We had the fast pass and did every slide, and a handful of our favourites (6 hour visit).
Food stalls were rammed, so I'd advise taking a packed lunch if you want to avoid more queues!
Richard Harrison — Google review
Returned to the water park yesterday after a few years. The new ride next to the cobra is now open as was being built last time we came. The park was busy but not jam packed like it was in August. Most of the French kids are still in school so we decided not to buy fast passes, and we didn't really need them. They've changed the fast pass pricing... 20€ gets one person, one pass with a limit of 2 goes per ride. 30€ is unlimited.
We all had a great time but as you'd expect it's pricey for food and drink.
Kris Foster — Google review
I understand why the reviews are low. The tickets are overpriced, and the waits are super long. We waited for 1 slide for 1 hour and 30 minutes. That too much. The slides aren't that good. Only thing that was fun is the dj but that was only 15 minutes. I won't recommend this park.
P.V.Y ?P.Y.V? — Google review
Too many people for this low capacity water park.
Without fast pass (20 euro extra!) you might as well stay away as it makes regular lines undoable.
The only two modern slides (Cobra and Vertigo) can handle less than 4 people per minute so lines these are absolutely stupid.
The rest of the park feels outdated and maintained bare bones. A lot of the slides are simply not worth the wait.
Perhaps only the kiddy pools are worth it when you have very young kids.
Food prices are very steep, even for a theme park, expect long waits there too.
A specific big negative is the photographer that walks around with a "tame" parakeet for photos. The poor animal has its wings clipped. Pure animal cruelty anno 2022. Wow...
Rutger 'Rudgr' Geerling (Rudgrcom) — Google review
A mediocre water park made to milk money out of. I would not recommend going here, go to the beach or a local lake with fun activities. Why?
First positives of this park, friendly welcome, staff speaks english well enough, and most importantly, the rides are really fun once you're on them, especially the vertigo.
Negatives?
It's too busy and expensive, food is mediocre (and is expensive as well), don't think you'll have a good amount of options when you have allergies. Toilets aren't clean but could be worse.
They have to get rid of the fast pass system. It makes queues for the others way longer. We waited 2 hours at the vertigo and I'm not exaggerating when I say that. I'd try to avoid the cobra and vertigo without the fast pass. The queues at other slides are doable but still pretty long.
If you're really into water slides, I'd recommend going somewhere else. If you really wanna go here, bring your own food and get the fast pass. Otherwise your day won't really be enjoyable and will mostly be just waiting and you reconsidering why the hell you even went here.
Bob Strügryia — Google review
Great park for all ages and providing a water thrill seekers enjoyment. Some slides will offer fast pass purchase as we waited 60 min on 1 ride which was great, but smaller kids might be hard to get to wait. Overall 8y and 15y had lots of fun.
Marcin Klosok — Google review
I have mixed feelings about my experience. While most of the staff were exceptional, two individuals at a food hut made inappropriate remarks about my English friends. My French-national wife caught on to their comments. When confronted, the staff tried to deflect, suggesting our friends took too long to order, which wasn't the case. They'd decided promptly but had to change their choice due to item unavailability. Remarks like these tarnish the overall impression of the park, which is otherwise great. It gets busy, so I recommend grabbing a fast pass upon entry, especially if visiting while on vacation.
Additional Note:
Making fun of tourists is especially problematic as they are more likely to inject money into the local economy. Tourism drives many businesses, and alienating visitors can have adverse effects on revenue. Moreover, a negative experience can lead to poor reviews, deterring potential visitors. Ensuring tourists have positive encounters not only fosters good relations but also encourages return visits and recommendations.
David White — Google review
Lots of slides for all ages, great pool in the middle of the park. There was water aerobics which was lots of fun. Lots of food outlets, fresh fruit, ice creams and drinks. It has a vip section which is good to get away from all the kids but you do have to pay an extra 20euros. Parking is good and shaded.
Henni Gullick — Google review
The facility itself is sensational. It offers many cool attractions. Unfortunately, everything is poorly organized there. Queues to the slides up to an hour of waiting, many of the attractions only for two (unfortunately, when you want to use them alone, you can't). I was also disappointed with the amount of games for smaller children. My son is 105 cm tall, which made 95% of the attractions inaccessible to him, and the zones for the youngest do not offer much. Still, we had a good time, so three stars out of five.
Tom. A. — Google review
Its not possible to do all the attractions in one day. Endless waiting due to too much people and this sh.. fast pass system. Its crazy that a few people can block all the others! NOT recommandable during high season. Obviously the park just wants money and give a sh.. on the customers.
The Parc Zoologique de Fréjus is a beautiful zoo with a variety of habitats showcasing mammals, birds and reptiles. The zoo has a great experience for animal lovers as there are so many animals to see and it is also great for small children.

After reading the reviews, which were not always positive, I wanted to visit the zoo myself.
The infrastructure is indeed outdated and the plexiglass urgently needs to be replaced. The information signs are also due for an update. and some animals are still in a small pen.
Still, I had the strong impression that the zoo is making a lot of effort to improve accommodations.
I think the animals were well cared for. They all looked very healthy and got a diverse meal. They all looked very relaxed. And there were a lot of babies (which I think is a good sign, since depressed animals don't breed as easily).
We had a fantastic day at the zoo and enjoyed the wide range of animals and the beautiful weather. That's why I thought it was important to leave a positive review. If it's good, that can also be said.

And they have some small attractions for children. The zoo is really big, we've spent the whole evening there and it was not enough. We were with our 1 year old baby, and he was so happy! We really recommend the zoo!

Visited mid week with my toddler son. I have mixed feelings really. The animals looked generally well looked after, most of the enclosures seemed a good size and the animals were generally happy… other than the tigers and wolves who were constantly pacing up and down and seemed very bored. The ability to feed many of the herbivore animals with food that you buy there was really nice for my son.. and not something I’ve seen at any other zoo. Outside the animal enclosures the whole place needs a lot of work and general tidying. The paths were rough and not maintained, and a lot of vegetation growing and obscuring the view of the animals for small children. It would be useless for anyone with mobility issues.
Jay faulkner — Google review
This 'Zoo' has been totally enclosed by the surrounding zone commercial. The zoo has a selection of animals. Their biggest attraction is a selection of big cats, ranging from the Serval Cat to three lions and 5 Tigers. Besides that there are several savanne animals, lots of different sheep and goats. The terrarium have a few snakes, but most are empty. In summary their are 40 mammals, 35 birds and 8 kinds of reptiles.
The parc has been build in 1971 on 16 hectares in Fréjus. Initially it had been designed for usages by car and on foot. As of 2020 it is not possible to visit the Parc by car.
In 2009 new animals arrived from the Zoo at Cap Ferrât and the Parc has grown 5 hectares up to 20 in total.
But most animals are not in their natural biome and I find it difficult to believe that this Zoo can continue to exist like this.
M van de B — Google review
Very poor terrain and visibility for wheelchair users, with high walls and scratched up &/or dirty perspex windows. The small and smelly enclosures were sad to see. I'm sorry I didn't read more reviews before we visited; we'd have skipped it.
Please note the wheelchair pictured is adult-sized. A ramp has been added in a number of places as an afterthought but the enclosures cannot be viewed due to the wall height.

Stunning Zoo - one of the best in Europe ! We don't understand how people can complain about dirtiness. Nature is by default dirty and NOT a hospital or an antiseptic clean room. Only people who live in an artifical 640x480 screen size world can believe that nature is absolutely steril clean. This is a ZOO and these are REAL animals who live in a very happy and often very spaceous environment. They are a bit dirty, but that IS natural and i agree that it is not aesthetic to our eyes - but it is more natural than washing the elephant every day with a jet spray. No elephant in Africa has that. In fact what puts this zoo above almost ALL others is the fact that one can be so very close to the animals than nowhere in any other zoo. The staff b.t.w. is very competent. They know everything about the animals, how to treat them, they do exchange programs with other zoos in Denmark, Holland, Brazil and other countries - and they are really in protection and providing as much natural environement as possible. YOU NEVER HAVE SEEN ANIMALS THAT CLOSE BEFORE IN YOUR LIFE !.
And it is true, that the zoo looks a little bit old and would deserve a little bit of refresh - the staff and the management would love to do it - but NO MONEY - so rescue this zoo - and GO THERE, SPEND MONEY and ENJOY The close proximity to these lovely creatures. They have stunning more than 1500 different anymals and hundreds of different species ! You easily can spend a half day and/or with picknick there. I attach some photos so that you can see - Flamingos in 50cm distance from you ! wherelse can you have that ! The Rhino that gets fed in-front of your eyes really. AND ASK THE STAFF - they are really very motivated to help, explain and make you familiar with all the various animals and their often funny behaviour. You can have a big laugh as well - monkeys are particular funny to learn about. Believe us - you will have a great time there and what is best - the zoo is so close to the Highway No8 that it is so easy to reach - drop buy and SAFE THIS ZOO !

It's nice that places like this are still kept runing. A bit of TLC generally could do, but for a family visit this is a great place - friendly people, easy-to-find, plenty of space to park the car and 2 snack bars on site. Animals well-looked after. We keep coming back with kids every time in the South of France.
A very unique place. The place is affordable to visit and self funded. The history of the place is tied to France history and link to the Vietnamese community. The garden is relaxing and you can ring the giant bell with the pagoda blessing, hold it, hug it or touch while feeling the vibrations. Very unique. It is a testimony to France openness and freedom of cult. The Indochine mémorial nearby also wraps the context of the temple and the efforts made by France to Indochine population. Also to be noted that the place offers affordable and spiritual yoga lessons. Be original and visit it while in Fréjus, so you will know there is much more than it's gorgeous beach!

However, it hurt my heart to see the state of this place. The price is 3 euros for the maintenance of the site, but it looks abandoned. The statues have lost their paint , some fell apart, others surrounded by greenery.
We cannot enter the temple (lack of respect from certain users) I find that a real shame. The noise from the very busy road and the atmosphere of the site did not allow me to relax or meditate. I'm not used to giving bad reviews and I don't like it especially about places of worship but I can't help but share my feelings

The cloister was very interesting, but considering the 6€ of ticket, the people working there could be more attentive... For example, saying than in a few minutes an included explanation would start... Our experience was seeing by ourselves the cloister and when we were interested in the baptistery, then the guy said to us "run because my colleague is about to finish her explanation there" and when we arrived, we were quite ignored. Curiously, she was the same to sell us the tickets.
Sincerely, you can go for free to the cathedral and see the baptistery from a glass door (paying or not). We understand that the cloister's gem needs maintenance and they make us pay a ticket, but I am not sure if that price is worthy.

It is one of the oldest cloisters in France according to the Center for National Monuments.
´The cloister is part of a complex built between the 5th and 14th centuries on the site of the ancient city founded by Julius Caesar in 49 BC. […] The 5th century baptistery, with its reuse of ancient columns, has preserved a tank for baptism by immersion.’

In addition to the ancient and soothing atmosphere that emanates from the place, you can discover its history through photographs, drawings, videos and exhibitions in the rooms adjoining the cloister.
Paintings made by the monks on the wooden frame are still visible and a small souvenir shop is on the ground floor before the exit.

Our lady of Jerusalem is a small chapel in the heights of Frejus. This was the last work of artist Jean Cocteau, and it's a little jewel to discover. Outdoor mosaiques, stained glass doors and inside walls decorated by Cocteau. It's a 10 minutes walk from the parking to the chapel and an entrance fee of 3 Euros. Some might find it a little bit pricey, but I was glad to contribute just to maintain that unic artwork and its building.

It was built in 1963, the year of Jean Cocteau's death, and completed faithfully to the author's drawings. Octagonal in plan, it is covered by a pierced dome and surrounded on the outside by an open gallery where there are beautiful mosaics installed in 1992 according to drawings by Cocteau and representing the Old Testament. Inside, Cocteau's paintings represent the periods of the Passion and Resurrection of Christ. Arènes de Fréjus is a vast ancient arena that originates from the 1st century. It has been transformed into an entertainment venue where concerts and theatrical performances are showcased. This tourist attraction boasts of its historical significance while providing visitors with modern-day entertainment options. The Roman amphitheater's expansive size and impressive architecture make it a must-see destination for tourists seeking to experience the fusion of history and culture in one location.

The food was once again delicious and an art.
But the service was lacking.
I don't think waiting 45 minutes for your drink is okay for this location and if you say something and don't look friendly and when you ask for the bill you immediately tell your guests that they have to pay inside or finally I just expect this service table.
So that was a shame.
So our advice is wrong, you need to work on making the service place and food perfect.

Restaurant setting was lovely. However service was very poor, pretty dismissive attitude - perhaps due to us being tourists., Had to ask twice for different glasses when we changed from white to red, had to get up and pour our own wine from cooler. Forgot juices for the kids. Waitress made a sarcastic remark when one of our children was exiting to the garden and was in her way - entirely unnecessary.
Fillet steak was good, “sea and land” main course and anchovies starter were not great
