Sandwell Valley is a 670-acre park that includes three nature reserves, a Victorian farm, and an adventure area. The park is great for hiking and biking trails, as well as playing in theAdventure Area with slides, swings, a roundabout, double zip wire and more.
Amazing park with so many wonderful sections. One of the best things about West Bromwich is this green space for nature lovers. There are walk routes and great spots for picnics. There are areas to look at wildlife. There are farm areas. The visitor centre is really helpful and worth checking out if you're a new visitor, you will be able to pick up a map and get a few tips as to which parts to explore.

Beautiful parkland and trees, a lovely walk to see old ruins, pretty flowers and beautiful tall trees. Ideal for single, couples, families and walking groups. There is lots to do for families including a small fair, a play park, crazy golf and picnic areas. There is also a fantastic free gym area with a multiple types of equipment. Would definitely return.

Went here last night for light show, big space so easily distancing with other family, nice light display (and it's free entrance) they have few amusement park rides and bumper cars plus burgers, sweets and donuts stand as well. Parking is free after 6pm.

A really impressive place. Well laid out gardens ( there is currently building work in progress) with ample areas to eat. Plenty of catering, and a very good play area. My granddaughters loved the fairground . There was a woodland walk path that looked very inviting but that will have to be visited another time.

Me and my partner love this place especially in the summer for picnic and walls. A great place that you can spend a whole day there, as there is alot to get around and do. Large ponds, gardens, a park which is big, nature trails, wildlife trails, larger fishing ponds and a farm. Always excited for the summer to come here, however a shame that they have the farm and the animals have been moved. But I'll still be coming here every summer.

Only a quick visit to this lovely country park to ride their rollercoaster. Parking was 40p for an hour. Tokens were £1 each. The other half bought some food from the hut at the funfair. He said it was very nice. Seems to be lots of open space for kids and dogs to run around.

We love this park. It's good for kids to play in. It's generally well kept. It has a nice car park which is payable most of the time but please check seasons and times before you pay. I love to talk a pleasant walk and having a nice quiet picnic is also most agreeable. I would recommend this park to families and couples. It has two table tennis areas and a basketball area. Also it has a workout area. You can hire bikes if you so choose.

Being a park lover with my kids , the best park visited so far in Birmingham. What an infrastructure. Nature at its best. Beautiful green slope, very good play area for kids.
One thing i must say, men's toilets were closed and hence there was a long line in the ladies toilet. People had trouble with their kids. I had to leave the park for my kids.

Wonderful, huge country park, woodland trails, can get muddy! Has a visitor centre where you can pick up a map, buy gifts or coffee, tea and snacks. Some paths are hard standing, but then disappear into soft ground, but not too bad underfoot. Can see if your lucky, squirrels, woodpeckers, and lots of different birds too. Bridge over the M5 at one point, where you walk across! Ruins of the old priory, and a farm garden, plus cafe and tea rooms, and the bunny village, which kids will love. Parking is plentiful and good value, easily spend a day there.

Very spaces park with lots of hidden gems to explore. Parking was easy with front accessible toilets. We walked towards the park and lake to have a picnic. It wasn't crowded, where we sat people were on walks and enjoying the park. We walked towards the small funfair and further into the garden area to explore the small museum. The gardens were well looked after with many produce from fruits to vegetables. A small coffee shop selling food and drink. Further on a small shop selling honey, eggs and many more items to purchase. The lady at the till was lovely. We walked around the woods track, lots to explore. Overall a very enjoyable afternoon out.
The gym at Portway Lifestyle Centre is exceptional, with knowledgeable staff who provide excellent assistance and guidance. They are patient and supportive, particularly for individuals with limited mobility. The facility itself is clean and inviting, offering a wide range of top-notch exercise equipment. The body combat classes are especially enjoyable, catering to different fitness levels. Additionally, the centre provides badminton courts that are of good quality.
Clean and welcoming, I especially enjoy the body combat classes with variations for all levels of fitness! The gym is very large with a vast array of high quality equipment. We'll worth a visit.

Been there to attend a tournament. It’s easy to find , next to a main road with plenty of parking spaces . Facilities for changing dress and toilets are in good condition and separate for males and females and accessible ones.
The event Hall wasn't big and no separate sitting area available for spectators.

Here for Hydrotherapy , so I thought it would be a sensible orderly clean place😏... wrong !
Ample parking in car park with plenty of free disabled parking but quite a way from the main entrance especially for people with mobility issues or disabilities. Whose idea was this 🤔. I Can't you open a rear entrance for access ? Reception is labelled Information with staff that are rather snappy in there tone - unnecessarily. Then past reception is THE longest corridor with a host of doors with no signing guiding you to where what is. So poorly thought out. Yes you will find physio hydro by asking others or the cleaners /maintenance guys etc. And when you get to that door there is some sort of paper sign attached to the front of the door telling you what's behind it. How do you see that from the corridor walk? So Hydrotherapy area was really poor. Whilst I'm sweating from the heat in this place the whole of the Hydrotherapy department area that I walked into was a state. Grubby muddy wet floor in the changing area, smelly too. Ladders everywhere with no warning that repairs and maintenance going on so males in the changing room. Individual changing areas are super grubby didn't even want to hang my bag on the peg. No signs of regular cleaning intervals taking place. Traumatised by the experience of changing myself in such a place I made my way to Hydrotherapy pool only to be told I can't enter if I do not have inhalers with me. Should be the first question asked when they see you arrive BEFORE you get changed! I left without any physio and was told to rebook. By the way, Just 10 lockers available 4 of which were broken, and you will need a pound coin with you. Whatever you do don't forget a pair of flip flops. Things that no one tells you before you get there. Needless to say I won't return for Hydro or anything else.

Attended the portway centre for an event being delivered by Sandwell Council. I found the building to be large, spacious with plenty of things going on. We were in a huge sports hall for today, which was great for the number of us attending. During breaks, I explored the facilities and found their staff very welcoming and friendly . Might return in the future for leisure reasons and explore some other facilities

If I could give a 0 rating, I would.
Utterly disappointed by the service received.
I mistakenly booked the wrong date for a badminton court, selected Sunday instead of Monday. I called up to ask to change as soon as i realised.
They said they would call me back as i asked for a refund originally but I was at work I missed the call. I tried calling back on my break and the line wasn't going through.
Tried again today to call them and was told I can't change and I can't get a refund and nothing can be done about it. I was told firstly I can reschedule now i cant? This is absolutely ridiculous! I didn't get to use the court and I didn't get my money back.

Visited for a recent birthday party. Was a roller disco party. Room where we were was pretty spacious with the children roller skating in an adjoining room. Sound system was provided which was used via Bluetooth on a phone. Was quite a walk from main entrance to where party was which for a disabled person is quite the walk. There was also some maintenance work going on in the area leading off the main corridor, this was cordoned off with barriers but there was a drain that had tape around, this in all wasn't pleasing on the eye. There was also a significant smell around the area where you entered the room. I'm sure once all the work is completed it'll be ok.
The Oak House Museum offers a unique experience to visitors by showcasing a half-timbered yeoman farmer's house complete with exquisite panelling and 17th-century furniture. Oak House is a delightful Black Country treasure.
Having visited Bromwich Manor House last weekend, our expectations weren't high. I remember the Manor when it was a very exclusive restaurant. Now, it is a mere shell aching for the Oak House treatment.
Oak House has been beautifully and sympathetically renovated. The house feels worthy, and there is an army of volunteers lovingly tending to it.
We were given a very informative guided tour from a gentleman whose vast knowledge was put to good use.
The grounds are loved, and moms can enjoy a coffee while watching their children cimb over the sunken pirate ship or build sandcastles.
An excellent morning was had. Now, please, spend some money on the Manor house and breathe some life back into it....you know it makes sense.

Sandwell Valley Visitor Centre (formerly Sandwell Park Farm)
The gym classes at All the Little Steps have a fixed structure, but they change their theme every week to keep things exciting. The themes range from space adventures to outdoor walks. The goal of these classes is to engage children and make each session enjoyable. I had a delightful breakfast with my daughter and grandson. We explored the gardens and even visited the mud kitchen. Towards the end, my daughter decided to get some cakes to take away, which were priced at 1.
Lovely walk round, the rabbit village and play area is great, kids loved it and enjoyed their time there. Didn’t buy no food or. Drink though so unfortunately can’t say much for that. There usually is a charge to pay but we were told it was free to enter, there is s gift shop before you enter the out buildings where they sell toys and many other things. The old farm which did have animal in were empty and Emmy kids were quite gutted has we went on a Sunday so unsure if they let animals out on that day. Has a museum and historical facts about the area which were interesting.

No animals around apart from Rabbits and dead fish. Absolutely shocking.
Thankfully it was free to get in otherwise I would be getting a refund
Jay — Google review
Disappointing. The Rabbit area is overpriced. You cannot see much and the gardens appeared to be mid maintenance. It seems we paid for a project that isn't quite complete. A wheelbarrow was also left out with wiring, something you don't expect near the rabbit area - clearly meant to be safe for children. There was also an area, unclear if it was accessable to the public. Formally a pumpkin patch, we had to wrestle our toddler out as he ran ahead; major lack of signage.
Tea room is the only enjoyable thing left.

Had a lovely breakfast with my daughter and grandson. After walking around the gardens and going to the mud kitchen, my daughter said she would get a cake to take away. On the board it was marked up £1.90 each. After she'd paid she asked if she'd been charged wrong. The girl said no the cakes are £3.90 each. I said the board says different, she said that's wrong. I said you need to put a note up saying correct price. We had to leave as our parking ticket was running out. Prices need to be shown correctly as £2 extra is a lot.

What an amazing little gem of a coffee / snack restaurant . With a beautiful little garden at the rear and plenty of seating, you can't go wrong. We ordered food and coffee and wasn't disappointed, it was well worth the price and tasted fantastic.
I would definitely recommend this place for somewhere to stop and take a break.
Also to add to this post, Digbeth Dining was on site, and it remained dry . Great choice of street food and an array of beverages to choose from.

We booked to go to an Easter event and in all fairness it was a complete waste of money! We paid near enough £30 to go in which my child didn't even get to see the bunny because the wait was over an hour long even though it was one hour slots. We ended spending more money because our children were unhappy. The communication with the event organisers was very poor. You should take cash otherwise you've got to go into the tea room to pay by card get a receipt then come back out prove you've paid then can get items such as slushies coffees etc. I would recommend going to the park much cheaper and more to do

We visited for Santa in Sandwell valley, the ladies in the admission hut were great, they told us about the elf craft things we could do, about Santa and the Christmas tree trail, our appointment was for 2.30, and we joined the queue for Santa, the elf (Vince pie) that was riding up and down on his bike/plane hybrid thing was hilarious, dad jokes a plenty, but the queue was growing and all of us were finding it hard to keep the kids entertained, we waited for atleast half an hour or more on a muddy cold track, Santa was ok, my daughter isn’t the most confident, so we didn’t force her and we went off to get some food, we placed our order only to be told (no signs) that the breakfast type sandwiches finished at 11.30am, so ordered a cheese and beans jacket, (I wasn’t asked which size I wanted it was just assumed it was adult size even though my toddler was standing next to me) a club sandwich and then I asked what size she had put through - was adult sized so ordered my toddler a child size one, we waited over an hour for our food, my toddler was growing louder and louder as she was hungry and other guests were served before us even if they came in after, so food eaten and we headed to the elf crafts, everywhere was shut! It was nearly five and on my tickets it said it was open till 6! We were kicked out! If we hadn’t have waited so long for Santa and for food we may have actually got to do the other bits we’d paid for, really disappointed and I’d recommended the venue previously to all in my mom group…. I will not be coming again!

It is what you would expect, little court yard with a cafe and small garden full of rabbits. Christmas experience was a little underwhelming, craft area was just a table of stickers and printed sheets. For £15 for the three of us, including a gift for the baby, can't complain too much.

Visited for the first time since before the pandemic and didn't realise it was no longer a farm. The ladies inside were very helpful though, explained to us that the farm animals have been moved on to Forge Mill, and the opening times for there. We then had a look around this centre to see a few of the displays inside. The tea rooms were closed on this particular day, but are usually still there and running.

Great tea room with large range of menu items, vegetarian and vegan options are available. Prices are very reasonable and the staff polite and lovely. Plenty of seating!
Only gripe was that the cheese and pickle sandwich wasn't cheese and pickle, it was cheese and onion chutney, and the cheese was grated mozzarella, not mature cheddar.
Will come again!

Excellent beers, great guest beers from other local microbreweries, bar food, live music at weekends, bottles and cans to take out, run by a fantastic team with friendly staff - there is literally nothing not to love about this place 👏🍻❤️
Couple of negatives for balance:
1) it’s too far to walk from my house
2) the beer garden area is shaded from the late afternoon sun by the buildings

The climbing routes are consistently graded, providing a great challenge for any skill or experience level. Drinks and treats aren't cheap, but they sure were good!

Really great place tucked away. We were welcomed by a lovely lady on reception. She made us feel really welcome and we felt at ease at our first visit. Lovely pizza and coffee/drinks. Great starter walls for all and some really tricky looking climbs for the advanced climbers. Will be back.

Fantastic bouldering centre in West Brom. Once you enter the building friendly staff await you. There are many problems to tackle there is a dedicated children's room . A cave room for you to practice climbing over roofs loads of over hangs .
On some of the routes it tells you if it's a Dyno or if you need to heel hook . They have a large selection of hot drinks. There is also a gym where you can train and get fitter once you have had a good climbing session . There is dip bars fingerboards pull up bar running machine things to help you do push ups. The bouldering is varied and will challenge you for sometime. Also the routes link up to an app called griptonite and you scan s route and try doing it if you complete you tick it off.

First session here. Filled out a registration form online, and booked my session online with 45mins notice. Carpark is small but no issue getting a space, staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. Coronavirus precautions are sensible and nicely laid out. The building is bright and inviting, mats and walls clean too. The walls have a great mix of grades, and the grades have a variety of different hold types. As a novice my grip lets me down most, but I found plenty of problems within my range. Impressive amount of kid friendly problems too, will definitely bring the little one in the future! Coffee was excellent and the pizza looked great too. Finally the rental shoes were in good nick but quite slippy on the wall. All in all I'll definitely be back!

Great place for bouldering! I went as a complete beginner, came in to a friendly welcome from the staff at reception who talked me over what to start on and how I should progress. There's more than enough to keep a beginner going until you can't grip anything anymore, at least that's what happened to me, it looked like the more challenging routes were hard enough for more seasoned climbers as well, it is by no means just for beginners. There was also a community of people who go every weekend that seemed very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be going again, and again... And again.

Need to make sure Boulder Central gets a review it deserves. A friend of mine introduced me to bouldering by taking me to Boulder Central. The staff are extremely friendly, accommodating, kind and helpful. I purchased a membership immediately after my first session.
I really see that the same regulars frequent this climbing gym and there’s an amazing community aspect. Given that I’m a complete newbie, there were slight fears of being judged and all sorts. But my experience so far has been the complete opposite. Receiving advice and encouragement from much more proficient climbers has been a huge drive from me to keep coming back.
Oh, can’t forget social Friday nights where you can get a drink and cake. Hearing that bell when the drinks were ready gave me primary school vibes when it was lunch time!! Haha

The Wednesbury Museum and Art Gallery is a highly regarded attraction that showcases an impressive assortment of vintage toys, Victorian-era artifacts, fine art pieces, and one of Europe's largest collections of Ruskin pottery. Visitors can also enjoy exhibitions by local artists in the gallery and explore themed rooms that offer a glimpse into the past. The museum hosts events for people of all ages, making it an ideal destination for families.
Great place to visit. Local artists exhibit in the gallery, back in time memory rooms, toys from through the decades and one of the largest Ruskin pottery collections in Europe. Also lots of things go on the for both children and adults.

The staff are really welcoming and nice! I appreciate that they keep it going without asking visitors to pay or even donate anything but it's rather a very small place! Also there is are three spaces used to show a lifesize replica of an American home in the 60s or 70s I believe- kitchen, living room and bedroom. I found this rather confusing as there wasn't any context behind why this was at a British museum 🤣. Overall I was done seeing everything in about 20 minutes. So the rating is really only for the fact that there wasn't that much to see.

Had a fantastic visit to the museum & art gallery, with 2 kids aged 14 & 10,
The model, train exhibition was amazing which is initially what the visit was for, however little did we realise upstairs the scooter exhibition and retro rooms are real eye opener, the museum itself is a lovely building and staff were really friendly
Worth a defo few hrs with kids
There is free parking at the Morrisons opposite for up to 3hrs(check the parking signs)

A lovely little art gallery and museum. There’s a small selection of 19th century art, a lovely collection of Ruskin pottery and a small children’s gallery which would make a great space for little ones to play in.
Entry is free and the staff provided a lovely warm welcome.

Haden Hill house is a Victorian house with period furnishings, which offers events and activities. It was beautiful and wonderful place to visit, with stunning grounds and friendly staff. The parking space was limited, but this did not dampen our spirits at all because the museum has so much to offer. We would definitely recommend it and return ourselves.
The house museum I would say is being kept at a very good condition where one can smell the livelihood of the owners. The volunteers are very knowledgeable. Without their tireless effort, we cannot enjoy it visit.

Had the opportunity to walk around the older house thanks to friends of Haden Hill House having the house open we had a tour with a very knowledgeable guide and then visited the Victorian house next door which is set up with period items.
My daughter enjoyed the trail around the Victorian property and learnt a few interesting things about the older house from the Guide.
Such a fabulous bit of History that could be utilised so much more shame the cafe is no longer there in the main house.

We were attending a steampunk gothic Victorian photo shoot here and it was our first visit. What a beautiful and wonderful place. The house is stunning and each room is set as it would have been in the house's heyday. The grounds are lovely to walk around, there is a doggie run around area, tearoom and play area. Staff are friendly. What I was a bit disappointed about was the limited parking space? Would definitely recommend and return.

Mecca Bingo Oldbury is a large bingo venue with an on-site bar, a café and electronic gaming machines. The place offers plenty of seating, but it seems that the staff is not enough, especially behind the bar. Food is served quickly but condiment buckets need to be kept topped up. Hand sanitizers are available around the venue while toilets are very clean. Mecca Bingo Oldbury is known for its friendly and helpful staff and great callers like Luke and Craig.
Massive thank you to the team at Mecca. Had a hen party there last night and the staff was brilliant! Especially Mark who helped set the table up and any questions I had and Luke who was fabulous at the bar and lovely to speak too 😊

Not the best bingo club I’ve been to.
It took ages to find a member of staff on Friday so I spoke to the security guy at the door! I was asking for a table number for our lounge (table numbers all ripped off) so we could order on the QR code. A staff member finally popped out and said they can’t do the service due to lack of staff and the lounge bar closed. Never mind so we ordered food only for my chicken loaded fries to not have bacon on them. Again had to hunt around for a staff member who did bring me the bacon in a small bowl. Wouldn’t of had to if it wasn’t missed in the first place. Went to the bar, the whole queue was asked if paying cash we all said no so the queue remained slow due to only 1 till?!
And lastly the ladies toilets were extremely cold!
Not enjoyable at all.

Bought my Mum here for a Mother's Day treat, I am coeliac, there were plenty of gluten free options but because it is all cooked in the fryer, unfortunately food allergy unfriendly. In a society that has evolved on these matters, and am surprised that this venue is not inclusive for people with allergies at no fault of their own, nice fun game of bingo, don't visit if you have allergies and plan on a bite to eat here :)

Recently visited mecca oldbury, we hadn't been for years so the reception staff helped us set up apps on our phone, later in the evening I ordered knickerbockerglory was shocked when it arrived as it was just ice cream, so took it back to bar staff and she said oh yeah we have no raspberry sauce, wafer or choclate chips I said why didn't you tell me that when I ordered it instead of trying to give me just ice cream, I found her attitude really bad towards me so just asked for my money back and didn't order anything else.and then,
A week or so later my daughter received a letter for a parking fine for £60 (we didnt see any signs to put your reg in and the reception staff never told us) , so we went back to mecca and they printed off proof to say we were there , so she emailed the parking company with the proof we were there,a few days later she received an email to say her appeal had been refused but as a gesture of good will she could pay £20, if we declined and appealed again it would go up to £100, why ask for proof and then decline our appeal, I think mecca needs to sort this out as we won't be returning again , either mecca are conning customers or the parking company are, I'm gutted because I did enjoy my bingo but won't be returning because it was not dealt with correctly we proved we were there and our proof was refused.

After conversing with the management team on Facebook, I decided to pay a visit to the Shree Krishna Mandir. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the pandit himself who kindly gave me a brief tour of the stunning interior. We engaged in a pleasant conversation while sitting inside, and he even offered me some delicious fruit. I expressed my desire to come back regularly and simply sit inside, to which he gladly agreed.
A must visit place with a truly divine atmosphere. The temple is beautifully serene and resplendently decorated. You really get a sense of something special there.
I enjoyed a wonderfully warm welcome from Anita and from an older fellow. Lovely prashad too!
And given the blustery day outside, the underfloor heating was a real bonus.
Join them for Aarti some time. You won't regret it.

The Galton Valley Pumping Station is a former pumping station that has been turned into a canal heritage museum in the Black Country. The museum has monthly openings during the warmer months, and it is currently closed due to the COVID situation. There is a free car park nearby as well.
Previously seen and photographed when it wasn't open, over the years. But finally popped into the first open day of the year. Friendly volunteers, I had a look around getting my photos. Later posting on social media etc. Second Saturday of each month, April to October each year. Can walk directly from Smethwick Galton Bridge Station via the Galton Bridge and the BCN New Mainline canal towpath. Then up some steps to the Old canal.

a small museum (opened one Saturday a month during the summer); it was opened in the 1890s, closed in the 1920s & reopened as a museum in the 1980s... a nice little bit of history in the Black Country & these days entirely manned/looked after by volunteers from the 'Friends of Galton Valley Pumping Station' who have maintained it quite nicely considering the alternative would have been it becoming derelict and most likely demolished by now...

During a visit to Funky Monkeys in West Bromwich, three children had a great time and got sweaty while enjoying themselves. The prices were reasonable, with each child paying £7.50 during peak time for 90 minutes of play. They also purchased three fruit shoots and two bottles of coke for approximately £10. The venue was clean and the staff were friendly. Convenient parking was available at the nearby Tesco for only £1.

Soft play is pretty good, not massive but enough variety for my 3 and 4 year olds to enjoy themselves for a couple of hours. Generally it was clean and tidy and the staff were helpful and doing a good job serving, tidying etc. Loos were clean and spacious.
Great location to allow my wife to do some shopping while the kids are happy.
Food is average, we avoided the pizza which didn't look great. Some simple salads for adults and vegetables for kids would be good.

When we arrived we thought how pretty the building and grounds were. The balloon making activity we attended was good and it was nice taking the toys they provided outdoors to play with. We had such a lovely time up until the end where we decided to quickly take the walk around the back of the building. Prior to going round a lady who had been on the walk already said a man had been in full gear tampering with a bee hive which explained why there were so many around that day. However, we thought it would be made quite clear when on the walk where the hive was located so as we could enjoy some of the walk and stop and turnaround before reaching it but it wasn’t. We literally walked for 1 minute if that around the back by the wooden bridge and had to run back as there were tons of angry bees attacking us!! it was for my children extremely upsetting!! My Mom got stung on her face and my 6 year old on the back of his head and luckily a lady screamed at me whilst I was running my kids away from where they were that one was in fact on the back
Of my 5 month old babies head who I was running with in my arms thankfully he wasn’t in his pram at that Point!! And Luckily it didn’t manage to sting him!! So although it was a nice day out the ending really did spoil it. I think the man shouldn’t of messed with the hive during opening times when people are visiting particularly that day when lots of children orientated activities were on. The walk should also really have a clear warning sign making people aware of the bee hive and it’s location exactly!! or the walk should maybe be closed off for peoples safety seeing as there really were so many out their hives clearly very angry from
being messed with.
