The Remparts de Vannes are the medieval fortress built in the 3rd to 17th centuries to protect the city of Vannes in the department of Morbihan in France. The fortress was founded by the Romans at the end of 1st century AD. It is a very interesting place with beautiful gardens that were very well-maintained. I had a nice walk on the walls themselves, offering great views of the gardens.
Beautiful garden to stroll and eat lunch and a glass of wine.

The remparts were the defensive walls that surrounded to old city. Those to the east are still largely intact and would have presented a formidable barrier to any attempted assault. Beneath the walls are pleasant and well maintained gardens to walk through at your leisure as you explore this fascinating old city.

Vannes is a beautiful old walled town and was a major port in the days of sail. Today it exists largely on tourism from both French and foreign tourists.
It has a tgriving Saturday market which is large and well attended. What is strange is the city's recent decision to introduce parking charges over all areas anywhere near the old town and the market. This will surely be a disincentive to visit as a tourist or to visit the market.

The Gardens by the City Walls in Vannes are a stunning sight, particularly when viewed from above while walking along the ramparts. The garden's layout is designed to fit into the geometry of the area, and they house beautiful blooming flowers that add to their overall charm. While more benches could be added to accommodate visitors, these gardens are still an attractive addition to the fascinating old town of Vannes and well worth a visit.
Beautiful, just about any Lind of store you are looking for

The ferry service, Les Vedettes du Golfe, offers a scenic boat trip with stunning views. However, some passengers may have difficulty understanding the presenter due to strong winds and rapid speech. The ride itself is enjoyable and comfortable on windy days, but can get chilly when going against the wind. Overall, it's a great experience for those looking to take in beautiful scenery while cruising along the water.
Good boat trip!

Didn't always understand the presenter due to strong winds and the fact that he spoke so fast (Quebec French is not exactly the same but I usually have no issues). Beautiful views and with the wind it is a very smooth and warm ride (against it is quite windy and can get chilly)

The Cathedral of Saint Peter in Vannes is a Gothic cathedral with a Romanesque tower, a neo-Gothic facade and vivid stained-glass windows. The church is dedicated to Saint Peter and is popular for its vibrant stained glass windows. It is situated in the centre of Vannes and can be easily visited by bike ride or on foot.
A must visit when in Vannes

A lovely little cathedral with a very long history. A lot of work is being put into restoration and it is clearly a living parish church. There are helpful signs posted indicating useful and interesting facts, often in multiple languages. I enjoyed my visit.
ace baker — Google review
Beautiful little cathedral hidden away in the city centre holding the precious relics of the Fourth Angel of the Apocalypse - St Vincent Ferrer. A lot of footfall which can make prayer difficult but good to see so many people inside a church. Information on large posters is also in English so very helpful to follow along. Lots of renovation going on so a lot is not on display which is a shame if you've come from far away. The house where St Vincent lived is above a tourist souvenir shop just around the corner. But was closed by 2pm so we couldn't visit assuming visiting is even possible. The house is quite badly signposted and no info online which makes it a terrible loss for pilgrims. All in all worth a visit - St Vincent Ferrer welcomes you.

Plage de Conleau is a small, sandy beach that is ideal for families seeking a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful scenery. Despite its size, it can accommodate visitors even on busy days in August. The Tour du Connétable, dating back to the early 1400s, is a magnificent piece of architecture that once served as the residence for the head of the Duke of Brittany's armies. This tower has witnessed various historical events, including being used as a prison during the French Revolution. Today, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and hosts cultural exhibitions. With its artillery casemates and imposing height, this tower stands as an integral part of Vannes' eastern ramparts.
