The Cathedral of Saint Julian of Le Mans is a stunning example of High Gothic architecture, renowned for its impressive stained-glass collection and bifurcating flying buttresses. Its choir boasts exceptional beauty and artistic craftsmanship. Visitors are encouraged to appreciate the various parts of this magnificent cathedral, including historical models that explain its construction periods. Not to be missed are the exquisite angel paintings on one chapel's ceiling and the beautifully decorated windows with intricate "vitral" designs.
The Cathedral of Saint Julian of Le Mans is a magnificent Gothic cathedral located in the city of Le Mans, France. It is one of the most important religious and cultural monuments in the country, and a must-see for any visitor to the region.
The cathedral was built over the course of five centuries, from the 11th to the 16th, and as a result, it combines a variety of architectural styles. The nave is Romanesque in style, while the choir and transept are Gothic. The cathedral is also known for its beautiful stained glass windows, which are some of the oldest in the world.
One of the most striking features of the cathedral is its exterior. The façade is decorated with intricate carvings and sculptures, and the two towers are over 100 meters tall. The cathedral is also home to a number of gargoyles, which are said to protect the building from evil spirits.
The interior of the cathedral is just as impressive as the exterior. The nave is vast and airy, and the choir is decorated with stunning stained glass windows. The cathedral also has a number of side chapels, each with its own unique features.
The Cathedral of Saint Julian of Le Mans is a truly awe-inspiring building. It is a place where history, culture, and religion all come together. Whether you are a religious person or not, the cathedral is a must-see for anyone visiting Le Mans.

A wonderful Gothic Cathedral. Not forget to visit it and enjoy the different architectural parts of the Cathedral. There are some models to explain the Cathedral's historical periods of construction. There are some amazing angels paintings on the ceiling of one chapel. Windows are decorated with beautiful "vitral".

An excellent cathedral, with plenty of information available in English (which is unusual for France).

1. Quite impressive architecture even without the show, I am impressed with this cathedral and Malian one and Barcelona one.
2.The light show is well designed and beautifully displayed.
3. It will be nice to have the schedule, we were guessing about when to start, so we searched online it says 930-10pm, which was longer to 1015. If I’m wrong please correct me, so others will know the show time.
4. Don’t miss the back ( or actually the entrance front show as well).

We visited during the day then returned in the evening for the lightshow. The cathederal is amazing, with the best stained glass we saw during our stay in France. And the lightshow (the main part of a series of lightshows throughout the city) is amazing. I've never seen anything like it. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.

An architectural gem, with its amazing array of flying buttresses and beautiful stained class windows.

Fabulous stone cathedral with magnificent engineering features located in the old town section of LeMans. Even if you are not a religious person, it's hard not to feel the presence of the spirit inside St. Julian's.
Jay Alley — Google review
The Cathedral of Le Mans is a wonderful visit. It gives a look back into times especially with regards to different building styles. The choir was upgraded to a gothic times enormously sized building, but when it was time for the nave money ran out. This allows you to in real time observe the differences in a couple hundred years of medieval building technology. The oldest stained glass still in a building can also be found in this cathedral. And lastly, it features some really nice chronological information on the building process of the cathedral with maquettes to support it (available in English!)
Floris van Hal — Google review
A cathedral beyond impressive. It's a must when you visit the city. There is a construction history of the place in details with cool models to compare. The cathedral development also links to interesting characters in medieval France and England.
And speaking of internal decoration, it is more than great and admirable
There are the oldest coloured glass window in Europe as well. You should check it out.
Moreover, if you visit it on Sunday (and on Friday iirc since I visited on Sunday), there is a lovely market at the site. I loved the atmosphere.

The cathedral is very beautiful at night, lighted with large projectors all around.
The building is massive and is very impressive with a lot of gargoyles and sculptures

The view of cathedral Saint-Julien from the Place Jacobin in the center of the city is overwhelmingly powerful and beautiful. And the old town, called Vieux Mans, will make us feel like we have stepped back in time just by walking through it.

The Circuit 24 Hours of Le Mans is an iconic endurance car race track that consists of both a permanent circuit and public roads. It offers a brilliant experience with amazing views. There are several things to note if you plan on attending the event, such as bringing comfortable shoes for walking as there is a lot of ground to cover, packing your own beer in a backpack as it can be expensive, many food stalls to choose from, and various other activities like karting and fun zones.
Without a doubt the greatest racing experience ever to see the 2022 Le Man's Race.
A***** 10/10
I will definitely be attending every year that I am physically able to do so.

Brilliant experience, amazing track! Great time. Few things to note if you are thinking about attending the event:
- Bring good shoes to walk in, we camped and did 30000 steps a day.
- Beer is fairly expensive (€8-€9 without cup charge (€2)) bring it on site in your backpack.
- Lots of food stalls to choose from
- Lots of other activities (sims, fun zone, team stalls, karting etc)
- Limited number of merchandise stalls for team wear, get it online before.
- Festival music in the evenings.
- Lots of spectator areas, don’t need a grand stand seat, just take a foldable chair.
- Buses run to different corners throughout the night (Mulsanne, Indianapolis/Arnage).

When booking this holiday to coincide with 24hrs of le mans! I thought it would be once in a lifetime holiday but ill definitely be coming back next year , there is loads to do and see . Constructors , mechanics cars ,karting, the camp sites are amazing facilities are basic but usable.

Great history, I loved the cars and I especially loved the miniatures and it was put out so beautifully, so I could see who won each year.

Second time visiting and general experience was pretty good. The le mans classic is a must for historic racing.
The only issues we come across was poor parking attendant knowledge and the lack of quick turn around camp plot finding at bleu Nord on arrival day.
The venue itself is clean and tidy. Staff helpful.
The classic boasts 8500 cars on display and around 350 racing. Took advantage of the paddock supplement this provides great access to the race teams and cars that are racing. During the day these areas can get very busy. Evening time is generally the best time to go for reduced footfall.
Like most race tracks food is generally on the expensive side. To combat that grab snacks and beers from a local supermarket to reduce the outlay.
You can't beat the noises and smells of classic cars running on the famous 24hr circuit. The buzz of the classic is like a huge celebration with everyone in good spirits ready for 3 days of celebrating Motorsports and manufactures.

Amazing experience, and what a year to be there, the coming of IMSA prototypes, and the Garage 56 were super bright moves from the organisation. The ability to approach the staff and drivers is so unique, I think there's no other sport you could do that. Especially considering the price too, I'm very likely to return at some point
However for fans sake make better indications on how to get to the train, as well as having decent toilets.
Apart from that this was amazing, well different than following the race on TV.

Fantastic place to visit. Not very big ( you can probably go round it in an hour if pushed for time) and you can also buy a circuit pass. Full of history and cars that raced. Opens at 10am
Petro Bolah — Google review
This circuit is really a complex place to review.
I went here for the 24hours of Le Mans, and have to say, that the experience was absolutely amazing.
The track is, from a racing perspective, really exciting with a lot of history, and an iconic layout with some famous corners.
There are so many corners however, that each should be evaluated on their own. And by attending the 24hrs of Le Mans, you will be at the circuit in the most busy event of the year - and it shows.
The infrastructure around the track is a bit lack-luster, so be patient during the most "busy" hours, because you will be queing a lot, and often very tightly.
Max Skovlund — Google review

First time at Le Mans 24hr and what a time to go, it was the 100 year celebrations. If you are into cars then this is an amazing event to go to. To get the best out of your trip I would recommend you join or go with someone who has been there before to get the most out of all the events going on during race week. I went with friends who have been going for many year and know the area well , I certainly would have missed most of the peripheral events if it hadn't been for their knowledge of the area. We camped at the Porche curves so we had a good view of the race, depending on the booking you may be able to access other parts of the circuit during the 24hr race so your not tied to one location. Once the race is over the public roads that form part of the circuit are open to the public so if you're quick!!! you can run your car on it. We got on between Arnage corner and Porche Curves . What a finish to a fantastic weekend #LEMANS24 #nickthebufferdetailing

The Water House, also known as Arche de la Nature, offers a unique experience in natural history through various themed nature houses and farm creatures. Visitors can explore quiet woodland paths and rent bikes or canoes to fully immerse themselves in the natural surroundings. The museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the beauty of nature with minimal human interference.
La Nuit des Chimères, or the Night of Dreams, is a captivating event that takes place in Le Mans during the summer. The historic Plantagenet City becomes a mesmerizing canvas for light displays and projections on its main monuments. Visitors can embark on a journey through time as they explore the beautifully restored historical center, with illuminations showcasing 1600 years of architecture from antiquity to the Renaissance.

Wonderful experience! We did a tour on the city train and we went through the tiny city roads around the cathedral. We made stops to enjoy the light art. The city train also had a recorded voice which was discerning what we were seeing. The tour lasted around 40 minutes. I fully recommend!

The Royal Abbey of Epau, a 13th-century Cistercian abbey, has been meticulously restored and features stunning stone archways, stained glass windows, and well-manicured landscaping. This magnificent building exudes a powerful atmosphere and emphasizes beautiful architecture through its excellent maintenance. A recent visit featured a special Christmas light and sound installation that showcased both the old and new aspects of the abbey.
It was such a nice place to experience a historical moment. There were old and new things to see.

I visited this beautiful church at the occasion of a special Christmas light and sonor installation. The building is impressive and provides a powerful atmosphere. Architecture is beautifully emphasized by a good maintenance. A nice visit very close to the city.
Mirabelle Canape — Google review
The construction of the abbey was ordered by the wife of Richard Lionheart, yet nowadays little is left of the beauty this should have inspired. The abbey is a nice tranquil place outside of the business of le Mans, but a real abbey it is not. It was completely emptied during the French Revolution and never reinstated as an abbey. Nowadays everything is empty and to see an abbey here one will need some imagination. Luckily the information folder helps a bit with this, but it cannot fill the physical hole of missing things.

This abbey can be attributed back to around 1190AD when Richard the Lionheart's wife ordered the construction of the Abbey.
The Abbey and the grounds they are on are well preserved and provide some insight into monastic life over the centuries. The audio guide provides further insights and information which is helpful to understand the building, the people and the roles each played in history.
Sadly the rooms were empty with few interactive elements leaving you feeling a little underwhelmed by such an amazing building.
The highlight was the cafe at the rear of the Abbey which provides a range of amazing meals which were incredibly well priced. We were treated with a little local treat which I won't ruin, but definitely worth it for 10 Euro.
I would recommend spending a few hours here around lunch time and be sure to enjoy a meal there, a highlight indeed!

I freely admit we ended up in this museum by mistake (confusing it with the archaeological museum) but I loved it! Such a lovely recreation and really atmospheric. They also have an original book of the dead, canoptic jars and sarcophagi! Loved it!

Very nice local market with a few organic vegetables, great oysters, bread, wine, honey, salt, rotisserie chicken, anything you will need for your sunday lunch or dinner at a good price.
Yves — Google review
This market takes place on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings. The most crowded day is Sunday. On Friday, more merchants come to sell their product and you can find books, second hand furniture, fabrics, flowers... A lot of people from the city centre come to this market: down the cathedral, it looks like you do your shopping with a medieval perspective! Fish, fruit and vegetables are sold au Marché des Jacobins, but also cheese, apple juice and cider, wine, bread, honey, chicken, sausages, all sorts of meat... On Sunday, you can take away fresh meals and enjoy various food, from Asia, North Africa, vegetarian or regional French food. It's a market where people love to go and buy fresh products, then sit at one of the terraces to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine when noon comes. Careful: this market is a bit expensive and it's not rare to see that the same sellers on other markets increase their price on the Marché des Jacobins.

Friendly and smiling staff, a very friendly coach who builds confidence and explains well.
It's an experience to do if you want to test the capabilities of this type of car. I think that taking the 5 lap package is the minimum if we really want to benefit, in the first laps we try to get to grips with the car and the circuit.
I would happily come back.

Unfortunately I was frustrated at the finish because I didn't feel that "little thing" of being behind the wheel of the car of my dreams, in fact 3 laps is much too short and you have to concentrate on your trajectory. and the plots, and above all we don't take full advantage of the car because the instructor talks a lot which is normal because his advice is great, nothing to complain about but it's true that this feeling of being left wanting.
Top-notch organization and welcome!
And the first drift of drifting, PERFECT, a brilliant driver, the sensations are really present
It's still a great experience even if I'm still hungry.

It's a nice place for a stroll and a different atmosphere in Le Mans: who would have thought that you could actually see seagulls and boats in this city? A few boats, some fishermen sometimes, and even a lighthouse! Take your marine shirt and your boots, wait for the wind and imagine you are at the sea! The illusion will last only a few minutes but it's still precious, sometimes...

(Translated by Google) Catholic church built in 1634 in Regency style with a vast central dome spreading its light over two short transepts decorated in Louis XV style. It is located on the Place de la République, the central point of the city, formerly under the control of the Convent of the Visitandines (located just behind the building).
Its plan follows a Latin cross measuring approximately 30m by 16m while an 18th century style dome rises some 40m above street level. Its large lantern visible from the outside is a sort of large helmet housing around fifteen small bells.
Particularity of the place regarding its name. History books and the city name the monument "Church of the Visitation" where the Diocese of Le Mans lists it as "Chapel of the Visitation".
Place built unfortunately quickly and only served until 1737.
Worthy of interest, go visit it like me 👍🏽

(Translated by Google) A magnificent place, restored to perfection, and really too little known - although it is located on the central and main square of Le Mans! It is the former chapel of 'La Visitation', that is to say of the monastery of the Visitandines, having occupied it until the Revolution. Its architecture and various details were entirely designed by one of the nuns of the convent , in the 18th century - rare testimony, at the time, of the extensive feminine abilities which were nevertheless characteristic of all times!
Thank you to all those who allowed the restoration of this exceptional place of our heritage, and to all those who allow its maintenance and worship, in accordance with its primary vocation. A must see and make known at Le Mans.
