The Lady Lever Art Gallery is a much-loved and well-known art gallery in Port Sunlight, Merseyside, which showcases a varied selection of paintings and prints from the 17th century onwards. The gallery is owned by the Ashmolean Museum, which also houses a world class collection of over 200 prints made by Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn.
First rate att gallery just outside of Liverpool. Good facilities including excellent cafe. Friendly staff. Beautiful assortment of art work.

Beautiful building, filled with fabulous objects and paintings. Wheelchair access is great and parking nearby is free. The gallery is set in the chocolate box village of Port Sunlight, which is worth a visit in itself. The cafe had very nice staff and the food was OK but as it's in the basement there's unfortunately no view. We'll worth visiting and I'll definitely visit again as they have changing exhibitions and hold activities for children.

Took my dad to Port Sunlight for the day. Wasn't sure if he would appreciate a museum but he loved it. I loved it. Could happily have stayed all day. Whilst the Flower Fairies exhibition is there, go visit.

Wonderful art collection including an impressive number of Pre-Raphaelite paintings. In addition to paintings there are many pieces from Lord Leverhulme’s personal collections of ceramics, furniture and other objet d’art.

Lovely atmosphere, beautiful art and a very nice cafe. A brilliant day out. Unbelievably ample parking in a setting which looks like something from a story book.
Looney Bergonzi — Google review
Not actually a Victorian Museum as it was created a little too late but maybe one of the later museums built by people of the Victorian age. It is wonderful in the literal sense of the word and just full of stuff. Mostly classical or neo classical and with a good representation of Pre Raphaelite. Maybe some are showing their age and in need of a bit of restoration but I think this just adds to the atmosphere. An easy place to get to with the Liverpool to Chester service close by.

The Lady Lever Art Gallery is a fabulous place. Its shop is pretty spectacular too. It's an excellent place to find a special gift, or greetings card. The stock changes regularly, & there's always something new to catch your eye. That goes for the gallery, too. At the moment, there's an exhibition of The Flower Fairies. The story behind this is fascinating, & gifts connected with the Flower Fairies are available in the shop. Enjoy.

Excellent collection of art and artifacts collected by the Lever family in particular. Interesting information in places. Well laid out, you just need to be methodical in your visit. The fairy work was amazing, the detail in the drawings immense. Highly recommended this for any budding art student. The surrounding area is a must see too. No photos of gallery as not allowed but others provided.

One of our favourite places to visit. The collection of Pre-Raphaelite paintings is stunning and there's always something new to see. Cafe and gift shop are fab too, and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

This is a wonderful collection with so many recognisable old favourites like 'Bubbles' and many interesting surprises. Great sculptures- I particularly liked Leda and the Swan. A worthy rival to the Frick and the Wallace collections.

A gem in the Liverpool Musuem family. The Lady Lever art gallery has some of the best examples of period furniture, paintings and statues. The highlight has to be the extensive collection of Wedgwood pottery.

Excellent time had here. Staff very friendly. Great cafe and shops. Many rooms with collections.

We arrived and was in time for a guided tour of some of the paintings (free). The guides were very enthusiastic, and told the story behind the painting , which made it very good even for my granddaughter age 10.
Guided tours was at 11am and 2pm
The Art Gallery has art and other artifacts, which was very interesting. To enter it's free, but they do recommend a £5 donation (to help run the place).
Well worth a visit.
They also have a cafe which served all sorts, and a small shop.

Awesome art gallery with large collection of paintings, statues and decorative art. I always pop in the gift shop and Café. Port Sunlight is one of my favourite places, and not just because I used to live there, but because it is such a beautiful village.

Loved it! super friendly staff. FREE though I gave a £5 donation (worth it!). Great pre Raphaelite collection. Nice cafe. Great to visit if you are seeing Port Sunlight. Nearest station is Bebington.

I have visited this lovely gallery a few times and have always enjoyed wandering around looking at the fabulous paintings and other treasures. It was built by Lord Lever in honour of his wife and is the second largest building in the world built as such a tribute, the first being the Taj Mahal. I was with a group this time and had arranged for a talk to be given by Fiona Slattery
Clark, the Curator of Decorative Arts at National Museums Liverpool. At our request it focused on the fabulous collection of Chinese porcelain in the gallery but also included the history of the gallery and Lord Lever. A great talk and a good introduction a visit to the gallery.

Beautiful gallery, one of my favourite art galleries to visit!! Staff are wonderful and are super easy to approach if any questions were to be asked. The atmosphere is lovely, as it's not too busy but not too quiet! After visiting the gallery, I recommend visiting the Port Sunlight village itself on a sunny day!

I visited the gallery on a whim with my mate, it was interesting and very well laid out, I’m not an art fan but the furniture and statues where excellent and would definitely recommend it
The Wirral Transport Museum showcases a diverse collection of vintage vehicles including trams, buses, cars, motorbikes and fire engines. Visitors can also enjoy exhibits on local transportation history along with a model railway and a 1930s garage reconstruction. The museum is situated on Europe's first street tramway which offers rides from the ferry to the museum. Although temporarily shortened due to track work, this tram ride provides excellent value for money.
What a hidden gem. This is an amazing place run by some very enthusiastic and skilled volunteers. The place is filled with fantastic original trams buses and historical vehicles, along with an amazing model railway.
Birkenhead is the birthplace of the trams and this is a must place to visit. We brought our your 2 and 3 year old grandchildren and absolutely loved it especially the tram ride to the ferry terminal.
It's easy to get to by Ferry from Liverpool or on the Liverpool underground with the station a few hundred yards away.
Peter Ramsey — Google review
We visited the museum last weekend and we were really impressed! There's a lot to look at, from old trams and buses to a miniature railway. My favourite part was definitely being able to have a tram ride on one of the old trams, this was also very cheap and was only £2 for an adult's ticket. I would highly recommend visiting this museum!
Jenna — Google review
A hidden gem tucked away; the short tram ride is excellent value for money. Only four stars because the tram ride is temporarily shortened whilst they work on the track.
Paul Knapton — Google review
What a fantastic place lovely to go on the tram and old busses lovely for families full of history
Susan Jones — Google review
What a hidden jem, great visit and stay were really friendly. Can spend about an hourish here especially if you try the tram, which I highly recommend. Make sure you check it out if in the area.
Tip: If your hungry get the tram from the museum to Woodside Ferry Terminal and grab something to eat at the food court before jumping back on to get back to the museum. We did not realise you could do this and ended up walking down after!
Will Goodwin — Google review
We had a group visit on a week day when it's not open to the public, with a guided tour. Definitely a better way to see the museum. There is so much to see, anyone who loves trams and buses will enjoy it immensely. The little cafe is great and the tram trip, though shortened for the moment, is a real experience, trundling through the old industrial area, past the college and back. And it's all free!
MGDriver99 — Google review
Fabulous exhibits of buses, trams and other road vehicles on show, all well maintained in excellent condition. So much to see, a camera is a must to have with you. The volunteer staff there are very helpful and friendly.
It's an amazing place to spend an hour or so and it's free.

Lovely day out at the Transport Museum open day. We really enjoyed riding the trams and going on the free vintage bus rides around the town. The military display and bus displays around the town were very good and we enjoyed browsing at what was for sale at the sellers stalls inside the museum. We will definitely look out for next year's event. A very well organised event if I may say so 👍

A very nice museum with all kinds of transport covered, friendly people to show you around, a good coffee and a little trip on the tramline made the experience complete

This is a hidden gem! A little transport museum tucked away in the streets of Birkenhead, filled with decades of history. It’s free to enter the museum and only a few pounds to go on a tram ride.
There are buses and trams and vintage cars, models and quite a large running train set. All the staff are friendly and happy to explain more details.
It’s usually just open at the weekends but they are also open during the kids half term.
It has a little cafe to grab a cup of tea and the have a wheelchair accessible lift to look around the upper section.

This is the kind of place I love! Small, but perfectly formed. Free for some reason (should have a donations bucket at the front door). £2 return on the Tram ride. Absolutely packed with photos and paraphernalia as well as trams, buses, bikes, model trains, motorbikes. Something for everyone, kids and adults alike.
Birkenhead Park is an iconic Victorian park with woodlands, play areas, fishing lakes and a modern visitor centre. The park was founded in 1847 and has been influential in the design of parks across Britain. It is open to the public 365 days a year and provides a wonderful setting for family walks.
Very nice for a walk, the cafe is excellent and has a great choice of ice creams which they can turn into shakes. Nice coffee and pleasant staff. The park has a nice path around making easily accessible for wheel chairs/buggies but also some rough paths for kids to explore.
Stuart Tulloch — Google review
Beautifully landscaped, something for everyone. Open spaces for games, lakes, wooded paths, flowerbeds. Great visitor's Centre with cafe, toilets and on the day we visited, an art exhibition.
Nicky Tann — Google review
Beautiful park, winding paths and lots of opportunities for children to climb rocks. The lake is very picturesque with many places to have a picnic (own seating required). Squirrels and pigeons very happy to be fed peanuts all day, kids loved getting close to them. Toilets available in the cafe. The cafe does decent food, but the ice creams are expensive. There's an Ice-cream van in the park but £3.50 for a cone was a ridiculous price.

Just an amazing historical and stunning park, that is kept beautiful. Everything you could need for a fabulous day out, for all ages! Brilliant cafe with clean toilets and positioned like a sun terrace on sunny day, so can bask in sunshine outside.
Since discovering this jewel, can't keep away and love showing it off to others!

This is a beautiful historic park. I'm surprised it's not as busy as Sefton Park, with its playgrounds and visitors centre, but maybe it was because I went in the rain.

I’m from the Wirral, and so have always known of Birkenhead Park. I walked through it quite a lot when I went to Sixth Form, but haven’t really appreciated just how lovely a space it is until the last year or so. The gardens are well looked after, even on Sunny days it’s never really too busy (unless in the playground, haha) and the wildlife are so calming. I think it’s one of the best places the borough has to offer!
The visitor centre is usually pretty busy, and the prices aren’t that great, but what I’ve had from there has been tasty.
David Yates — Google review
We were recommended to visit this park whilst work was being done on our van. To say it holds a bit of history would be an understatement! The first ever municipal Park and the inspiration for Central Park in New York but two claims that don't get much publicity.
The visitor centre is a must place to start if you are new to the area, where the history is well told, and there is a great café.
Some great walks and surprise corners, and impressive architecture.
We intend to return in the spring to see the place in all its glory.
Yes I'd recommended.

Big and beautiful park. Also very historical. A great place for walks, picnics or days out with the family or dogs. There is also a lovely cafe in the park with nice food and a great atmosphere. There are also lakes in the park and plenty of beautiful wildlife. Would highly recommend

Apparently built in 1847, and I believe the design influenced Central park in New York. it's very interesting park, it's cut into two sections by a road, so you have an upper and lower park. Most of the attractions are in the lower park, the lake, bridge and cafe and visitor centre. The lake is a good place to see and feed swans, geese and ducks.

Such a stunning park, visited family and our air bnb was right opposite- we had no idea how big or beautiful this park would be. Lovely cafe in the middle and the fattest squirrel gangs ever. Loved it

Beautiful historic park with many original features. Surrounded by beautiful architecture with Asian inspired bridges, migratory birds, sports field and many well maintained paths to explore.
The inspiration for Central Park in New York City.

Birkenhead Park, located in the heart of Birkenhead, Merseyside, England, is a historic and picturesque public park. Designed by the renowned Joseph Paxton, it officially opened its gates on April 5, 1847. This green oasis is not only a local gem but also holds global significance. Its UNESCO-shortlisted design has inspired parks worldwide, including New York’s Central Park. With lush landscapes, serene lakes, and well-maintained paths, Birkenhead Park invites visitors to explore its beauty. Whether you’re attending events, enjoying a leisurely walk, or simply basking in nature, this Grade I listed landscape remains a testament to the vision of creating a harmonious space for all—from peasants to monarchs.

Birkenhead park is a place that is steeped in history and a fantastic example of a Victorian era public park. The park is internationally famous for influencing the design of Central Park in New York.
The park is split into two main parts, simply known as the lower and upper end. The lower end is the largest of the two and includes several features including a visitor centre and cafe, children's playground, bowling greens, and a pavilion.
You will also find the swiss bridge and boat house on the lake in the lower end.
The park itself is very easy to find and has its own Mersey rail train station, however, there is no carpark on site but it is very easy to park on one of the surrounding streets.
I really enjoyed the parks history and walking the grounds, however I do think that more could be made of the parks influence and in parts it did feel as if the grounds had been a little neglected, which was a real shame.
However the cafe was really enjoyable and we all enjoyed a very tasty cheese and ham toastie. The ice creams were also really good.
In summary, Birkenhead park is definitely worth visiting, however if you don't live local you may want to combine the visit with another local place to make a full day out.
Birkenhead Priory, established in the 12th century, is Merseyside's oldest surviving structure. Monks who operated the initial Mersey Ferry resided in this priory. Today, visitors can explore centuries of history and participate in family-friendly activities such as tower climbing for views of the river. It is an intriguing location to visit with a knowledgeable guide who can offer insights into its significance.
Had a wonderful day at Birkenhead Priory. We just went to have a look and were surprised to be met by a personal tour guide! A lovely lady showed us around the whole place and was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Already recommended to lots of people that have lived on the Wirral all their lives and never been. Historical site of a Benedictine monastery from the 1150s(!), one of oldest standing buildings in Merseyside. In the 1800s and 1900s it served as St. Mary’s parish church of Birkenhead. Today, only its tower and west wall survive. Explanatory panels in the small museum space. Good views from the top of the tower. Donation box at the entrance.

Lovely little farm for when you need something cheap and cheerful to take the kids too. Admission is free and if you want you can pay for bags of animal food to feed the animals. I've been a number of times with my little girl and my friends kids (aged 2, 7, 10) as it is local to our area. ideal if you are on a budget as its free of charge you can just give a cash donation as you arrive or leave. Pram and pushchair friendly, cute farm animals for the kids to see up close and feed. Even a little outdoor play area for kids and toddlers to play on, cafe with reasonable priced hot and cold drinks (I haven't had any food there myself yet) staff are friendly and approachable.

This Urban Farm is absolutely fabulous! The animals spaces are close enough so you can see them and take photos, some you can feed too. Apparently you can buy feed but we couldn't find where to buy it so just went around without it.
There's goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, horses, pigs, alpacas, rabbits and guinea pigs.
There were paths and tracks that people with prams/ wheelchair users were able to use. Also, there is a small cafe on site that has such a variety of foods and drinks, ice creams, burgers etc. There are vegan options. Prices are great too! Additionally, next to the alpacas area there is a large playground and picnic area.
There were many members of staff (possibly volunteers) that seemed that they didn't want to be there which was a shame. But all the staff I spoke to were polite.

Great little farm and I'm surprised that it's free to get in. Good variety of farmyard animals with goata, hens, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs and pigs! ***REVIEW EDITED AS TIME OF THE YEAR VISITED WAS NOT IDEAL**
Unfortunately, it's not as good as it once was, as I remember in my youth, but that shoes how long the farm has been going for They rely on donations AND is only free entrance farm that I know in the area, so when you pass the donations box, please throw in a few coins, they do have many things on during the summer holidays and do have a good range of animals for the little ones, so you can't really complain..still fun to occupy the kids for a few hours as they have invested in an outdoor play area for the kids too. Cafe is warm and welcoming too.

Superb. I spent a few hours here and it’s just awesome. Better than Tate, London.
There’s currently a graduate exhibition that’s particularly awesome. Seeing the edgy 21st century artists exhibiting with the old masters is a unique experience & highly recommended. The buildings gorgeous & has a garden too. It’s got a gentle human feel to it; the staff are super friendly, the cafe is fab ( panini & salad excellent) I just love it! I’ve been to a lot of the more famous galleries in Europe but this one has a gentle rhythm that allows the art to take centre stage. Hugely recommended. You’ll find some real surprises in this gallery.

Atmosphere was brilliant. Tickets were very reasonably priced. Only problem is that the food and drink sold here is quite expensive. Otherwise it's such a perfect place for all people and a great day out. Would highly recommend.

Good old ground with a unobstructed view also a pre match area for fans to have a drink in the ground car parking area

I went to a womens lfc match, not a tranmere match. Parking was free, if you there early enough. Easy enough to get in, quick bag search then go through turnstiles. Loads of friendly stewards to tell you where to sit. Only problem was massive queue for food/drinks as service was very slow. Missed some of the 2nd half and started queuing before 1st ended.

Home of the not so Mighty Whites. Nice to get back for the football though. It's had a lick of paint during the close season, and it's a perfunctory stadium. The burger at £5 was pretty nice and the programme was still good value for money at £3.50. A good place to bring the kids as it is very much a local football club.

Attended a child's birthday arcade party this morning at the ground. Would totally recommend this. The staff were all great and very attentive with the children. As well as this all of the food was great too. 10/10

Great staff at Liverpool ladies game, very helpful with our baby coming to her first match. Super atmosphere and a proper stadium. Loses a star though for the lack of vegan options (just a sausage roll would have been perfect, or even crisps without milk in them).

Liverpool v Leicester women, as an away fan, the stewards were great, free parking and a good away end. Top marks.

Parked on Borough Rd leading up to stadium. Short walk, then easy access into ground. Friendly staff throughout. Pies and coffee, not much good, but at least they were hot. Good view from Cowshed stand. Terrible tannoy sound. Overall good experience. Will go again.
Brewery Glen Affric Brewery & Taproom is situated in the picturesque village of Glen Affric on the banks of the River Spey. It offers a range of quality beers, wines and spirits as well as a selection of tapas.
Great brewery with bar , fantastic selection of ale , great customer service and a good evening out.

Formidable range of keg / craft ales. Good tap room. Take out available. Dogs welcome, but on last two visits dogs that were there were not controlled well. Mentioned it to bar staff... just shrugged their shoulders! Not great. Real pity as been coming for around 4 years or so, but not so keen now

Thought I'd try out this brewery as I go past it every time I come out the tunnel. It's basically a huge warehouse but it's had lots of seating put in to make it comfortable. They obviously have a large selection of beers, ales and ciders that would meet most requirements. There was no food available but while we were there they set up some pizza ovens. What I found amazing was that people were bringing children along. You don't normally see them in breweries. I must come here the next time I'm asked to mind the grandchildren.

Twenty-five beers to choose from at this large taproom, ranging from light to dark styles. All are vegan (Oct. 2022) except the non-alcoholic one (0.5%, uses lactose). Flights of three third-pints for £6. Merch and canned beers for sale.

went on the brewery tour, well worth doing, callum the owner was really informative, answered all questions and was really enthusiastic about his brewery and the process, small tour group ,tour lasted about 1.5h with all the questions, 2 halves of your choice included in the tour, great value at a tenner.
taproom had approx 25 beers on including a few guest beers, stayed for a few hrs afterwards and sampled a few, could've spent longer there,Charlotte? behind the bar was great too,dog friendly tap room, approx 10 mins walk from Hamilton square Station, definitely recommend the tour and tap room

Expanded considerably since I first started visiting. Large airy seating area and over 20 of their own beers on tap. Good to see a couple of alcohol free options and their own pop in the fridge (which is lovely!) Very dog friendly.

Constantly rotating beer choice, so keep coming back.

Love it here! The beers are really good, and there is always something new to try. There is also a good selection of canned cocktails, if you are not really a beer fan. They have different local indie food retailers at the weekend, so you get a different experience each time. The staff are so friendly and we feel so welcome here. Also a great selection of board games, which is always fun! It is a dog friendly venue, which is another reason I love it as I get to pet loads of cute pups!

Great building - very airy and bright, dogs welcome. Crazy selection of beers on draft (three 1/3s for £5.55 so you can try a few), but they also make their own sugar-free sodas, gin, and slushies! The sort of chill vibes you'd expect, good tunes. Our only very minor gripe is that 6pm is quite early to stop serving hot food.
Really interesting hidden gem. My son really likes libraries and after seeing the pics I thought the building looked interesting so worth a trip. His review is 'Really good lots of books'. While he looked over the books I had a look around the building, they have some really interesting info on Wilfred Owen and bits and bobs to look at.
Worth a visit if you've never been though unless you have a little reader like me who curled up with a book for an hour you won't need loads of time.

This is my local library. An absolute lifesaver as I read a lot and books are not cheap! It is also a community space. Will often find singers on Saturday afternoons, various events and children's activities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very grateful to still have this library. Hope it stays where it is for it's community.

Currently using track and trace. They have multiple stations for hand sanitising and you put the books into a box for them to clean. Filled out form for track and trace and put into a box then pencils once used are also kept separate for sanitising.

A historic backwater which I remember when studying Architecture.
It had a very important impact on the person I became and in those days a wealth of information - be it science and materials or youngs modulus and exam revision time was such a treasured time and I think if my memory serves me correct where the lyrics to whole of the moon were given birth in part and then completed in Cunard buildings in the water department at my drawing board on the third floor - great days indeed.

It's the most important + significant building on the Wirral. It's been threatened (unsuccessfully) by the Council for years. It's staff are always helpful. It's the one place where everyone has access to a photocopier and a personal computer. It's vital that it stays open. It's spacious with local newspapers dating back for many years for research purposes. It's a part of the local community which can't be replaced.

The library has a brilliant selection however it is lacking any up to date non-fiction and technical publications such as modern programming, which I would consider critical with the direction the current curriculum and indeed the world is headed. However, the library does have a decent selection of kids books & DVDs, along with an adequate IT suite.
The Europa Pools Leisure Centre is an extensive leisure complex that comprises various amenities such as a 25m pool, wave machine, spa, fitness suite and steam room. In addition, it also features a cafe for the comfort of visitors. The facility provides ample space for families to enjoy swimming with no more lanes due to the relaxation of covid restrictions.
Nice family swim no more lanes as the relaxing of covid so plenty of room just as a precaution for parents with children that are weak or none swimmers after the lifegaurd chairs it is 2meter deep so courtion nice friendly staff who are on the ball . Plus they have just moved the gym to the lesiure pool as the pool wasent getting used by the public but what a transformation it's so quirky relaxing if this is what its took to save europa pools then good on them 22.50 a month gym and swim plus classes it's a steal .thumbs up from me

Took my grandson, good facilities, nice reception staff, free parking, however-wasn't allowed to use the deep end, due to an overzealous lifeguard saying my grandson couldn't swim and would drag me under! (We cold-water swim spring summer and autumn!) we were stuck in the 0.9m shallow area, which felt punitive, (I'm 182cm ) a guy was called a liar by another guard, when he protested that he had not long got in, in front of his young daughters when told to get out.
The Manager was reasonable, sadly it was far from a fun experience, we have no plans to return.

Came here using the free 3 day pass. Thought I would give it a go being 8 months pregnant and always in pain I think being in water helps and it definitely does. The pool is okay a little bit worn down now but I liked that there was disability steps to get in which made it alot easier for me. Got talking to a few people there who were friendly. Changing facilities showers and lockers are not great and really dirty. I wouldn't come back for this reason, glad I got the free pass before I bought a membership. Also its such a shame because the fun pool I used to love when I was a kid, would love to take my kids now but it's now another gym! This place could be top tier with a refurb and the come back of the fun pool.

Had an aqua aerobics class here, great fun but still a work out nevertheless, Lynn really puts you though your paces however you can work to your own ability. Plenty of lockers and cubicles, it was our first visit here only because our similar class at Leasowe leisure centre was cancelled but it won't be the last.

Whilst appreciating that the loss of the fun pool has made a difference to many, my gym membership is much improved by the new gym. Lots of new faces and new equipment. I was going to join the new gym opening in Birkenhead but I am more than happy to stick with Europa now. Staff look pleased to see everyone after what was a tough time in the last two years.

People are lured into a great big pit full of water. They paddle about from one end to the other looking for a way out. Occasionally, someone gets lucky and manages to find the escape ladder.
Absolutely crazy!
Highly recommend.

An absolute travesty that the children and family pool have been replaced with a gym. People used to travel from all over west Cheshire and Merseyside to come here. So many weekends of my childhood and teen years spent here. It was my favourite place in the world growing up besides going on holiday. I am gutted that I won't be able to bring my own children there.
I love swimming and now live in Birkenhead but cannot bring myself to step foot in the place, it would be too upsetting. I will be travelling to the oval in Bebington. It was getting kids and teens out of their rooms and playing and exercising and spending time as a family. Will have to travel to Stoke on Trent for anything similar, but it will be worth the trip.

The closure of the fun pool at youth's expense is a disgrace. I'm not from the Wirral, but travelled 14 miles across the Mersey to bring the kids here every week before the pandemic, and sometimes during the week for Aqua Tots if we were off work. The kids are devastated they can't go, and there's nowhere else like it. They loved the "bubbly pool" as they described it, and the wave pool, plus the fact they could walk in at their own pace to a comfortable depth. Blatant bias and ignorant decision made by the council to close it, opting for financial benefit in the short term rather than health and welfare in the long. There was no requirement for another gym on the Wirral, or even the whole North West. It's just been done for quick financial return. Any paper work issued is clear narrow-minded statements with the only intent of keeping the pool closed. It is a little run-down, but with the right management, advertising, and minor makeover the fun pool alone would've been an attraction many families will have travelled for. Nobody I speak to even knew it existed. Safe to say, there's nothing there that's worth visiting now!

Absolutely amazing workers and facilities. Someone of the staff, I have known since I was a baby, some of them are only new but the thing that ties them together, is their warmth and compassion. I’m disabled and weary about going places, sometimes people stare and judge me but I know, whenever I’m at Europa, I’m safe, I’m sound, I’m looked after and encouraged to come back and work on my health. Some of the kindest people I’ve ever met! A big thank you to the staff for making fitness and kindness so readily available ❤️
Amorini Antiques Centre is a specialist antique store that provides an extensive and authentic collection of antiques. The building has three floors with ten rooms full of various items, including ceramics, metalware, lighting, jewellery and furniture. Despite its small appearance from the outside, the shop is packed with curios and nicknacks and even has a mini museum to explore. Visitors can find genuine artworks, glassware, bronze and silverwares as well.
What a cracking antiques shop. There is so much to look at spread out over two floors. The building also plays host to a print museum. The two gentlemen on reception were friendly and helpful. I bought a number of items and got a good discount.
The items were wrapped and packed for us to carry to the car. I would definately visit again. There were some interesting items and lots of different rooms to explore.

Attended a funeral at St Saviour's Church, Oxton, and discovered it to be a pleasant Anglican church with unique architecture. The car park is small, so arriving early is advisable if seeking a parking space; however, the nearby pub is accommodating. It is easy to locate the church. On another occasion, witnessed Birkenhead Choral Society's v.2 concert and it was an enjoyable evening as always.

The Wilfred Owen Story, situated in Birkenhead in the UK, offers a captivating experience for enthusiasts of war poetry and the tragic persona of Owen. This unique exhibition, curated by local artist Dean Johnson, aims to establish a stronger bond between Owen and the town of Birkenhead. As the only recognized museum exclusively dedicated to Wildren Owen, a renowned First World War poet, The Wilfred Owen Story provides fascinating insight.
The gallery is a wonderful tribute to a fantastic poet. As you walk in you can see a large display cabinet with lots of interesting artifacts from the war. There are larger items from the war that really give you a sense of what Owen must have seen and used. Even a uniform. On the walls is a lot of information about Wilfred Owen's life. Key moments with lots of images. There is a wealth of information and I was very impressed. One thing that really stood out was the original artwork based on the poet or on related themes. They really have to be seen! From models and sculptures to paintings and tiles. This gives a real sense that it is an ongoing exploration of the impact Owens work has made on peoples lives.

We stopped by the shop today as my husband wanted a minikeg as a treat. We had a chat with Steve Briscoe, the brewer and owner. We very much like the beer, the ethos and community spirit of this brewery. Have met Steve himself at beer festivals and the Wirral Ale Trail and at tours of the brewery over the past 10 years. Beer is tasty but not overwhelmingly trendy. No pineapple beers here. This is a very good thing in our opinion.

Not a bad shopping area, but the few shops that are now gone make it look a bit down trodden. There will be a vast improvement when all the building work is finished and we have more newer shops. I like the way some precincts put colourful boards up in front of shops that have gone it makes the place look more alive pity Birkenhead just leaves them empty and dull

What a downturn in Birkenhead's retail history .
Grange Road once the jewel in the Crown, a place we're you could buy anything from a tin opener to a three piece suite is sadly no more.
Shops are either empty or turned into charity shops the few high street outlets are fighting for customers as footfall diminishes for Outlets villages or Liverpool.
At a time when investment in the area appears to be required we can only hope it arrives before the customer's leave for good.

Best place to shop in Birkenhead, compared to the rest of the area the pyramids has been kept nice. However, there isn't much there anymore, not since the closure of M&S. There is somewhere to eat and then range of shops that are still there are very nice and respectable. Roman originals is a beautiful shop, as is Next. There are also some nice mobile shops selling sweets and baby clothes.

Good parking options with the pyramid multi-storey and cheap aswell. Fairly good selection of shops within but having visited recently after around a 15-20 year gap, therea a very notable decline. However I would like to add this is more just an indicator of the world today with many town centres struggling across the country.

Despite losing shops over a period of time, there has been a few newcomers here and there setting up.
Its a good place for a clean environment to go browse and shop, you can also choose what you want to eat due to different foods outlets, there is a huge sitting area, also a mobile phone secure charge point where you can leave mobile locked away whilst having a charge.
You could access free wifi should you want to.
There is a large multistory car park available and lifts or stairs to go to and from shopping.
The exit is a little tight as is the entrance so best bet is go slower.
Bargain £2:00p all day if you want to.
Outside one end for wheel chair and electric chairs, the other end has escalators and a lift.
Its lovely there in all honesty, the area is tidy but sadly there are beggars around who ruin the experience,We avoid these untoward people, even the locals know the beggars are certainly not homeless.
They beg and annoy around birkenhead centre and liscard falls foul for a few beggars.

A once brilliant shopping centre is pretty much a shell these days. The food hall is decent, and the few shops within the centre are ok. A complete contrast to the booming 90s, when it was a fantastic place to shop.

It's amazing t just how quickly these places go to look old and run down. What should be a trendy and safe shopping precinct has gone down hill pretty quick. Loads of homeless people, making you feel guilty, plenty of loud weirdos looking really shifty. All that mixed with closed down shops and a general feeling of desolation.
It's a real shame, this should be a nice place to visit.

A few options for food in the food court and a better selection of shops considering how many have shut down in the past couple years. Actually pretty clean considering you're in sunny Birkenhead!
Charging for the toilets is a rip off but when you see the state they were left in prior to this, I suppose it serves as a deterrent for the scum who leave them in a mess.
