This beach was my favorite in Skopelos. There is plenty of room besides the bar and tavern umbrellas to bring your own even during peak season. Pebbles and rocks of course, gets deep soon enough.

The water is very warm and the restaurants beside it are very good.

Absolutely stunning beach. The water is just beautiful, you feel thirsty just looking at it. The pebbles keep it clean and crystal clear, even without goggles you can see clearly the rocks below. It goes deep quickly and is practically the deep blue ocean within 5 metres, which makes it even more beautiful to see the floor just go down so dramatically. Great beach bars for food too. Best beach on Skop.

The best beach in Skopelos.. protected from winds...like a lake..pebble stone beach..clear water... supermarket right at bus stop Tavernas...perfect place to spend the day

Beautiful beach in Skopelos.Easily accessible by bus from Skopelos Town. Crystalline clean water with pepple beach. The beach bar won't charge you for the 2 sunbeds and one umbrella, but you have to spend a minimum consumption of 10€.

Crystal clear waters with beautiful view of the mountains surrounding the gulf. Also, it is filled with pebbles instead of sand which helps keep clean if you want to 😃
Δημήτρης Χαλάτσης — Google review
4.5 very very crowded. Tavernas served sunbeds free if you buy things from them. You need to go there early for a descent seating. Crystal clear water, sunset time is shadowy, go pass to the other part

Altogether probably the best beach on the island. It is 20 meters from the road, there is a market with cheap cold drinks, water is clean and and small pebbles makes the nest floor.
The most attractive part are free sun beds and umbrellas (courtesy of tavern Rigas - it is appropriate to order something). There is also a toilet, fresh water hose and a lifeguard. 6 stars!

Very nice beach, calm and quiet even if it's on the main road. There are many taverna on the beach that make the atmosphere really Greek!
Gianni Albertazzi — Google review
Visited the beach 4 times while in Skopelos last September. Clean sand/ shingle beach with lovely clear water. Many sunbeds “free” when you spend a minimum of 8 euro’s at one of the taverna’s/cafe’s.
Lovely sunset.
Michelle Verkouw — Google review
Wide pebble beach with lots of beach bars and tavernas. Also some open space with no $$$ sunbeds. Water sports. Sunsets. Pretty quiet in the evening.
Paralia Kastani is a scenic coastal area with a sandy beach that provides sun loungers and umbrellas for visitors. It also features a beach bar where you can get refreshments while enjoying the beautiful view. Additionally, there is convenient car parking available nearby.
One of the few beaches in skopelos where you don’t need shoes to enter the water. It was a bit crowded mid day, but in the evening there were less people. The prices are higher than other beaches, but nothing crazy.
Alessia Pavlovschi — Google review
If you're looking for a very organized beach, this is the way to go. The beach bar offers umbrellas and sunbeds both near the sea and by the grass, depending on whether you prefer more time under the sun or in the shadow. The waters are nice and clean, except for the jellyfish that's generally present around the island at this time. There's also the option for water sports and a free space (although slightly limited) for your own umbrellas away from the beach bar. As far as cons go, the staff wasn't the most welcoming we've seen and the prices could've been better. Also, people just freely set their individual umbrellas in front of the ones of the beach bar so the front row isn't always getting what they paid for.
Elisavet Sidiropoulou — Google review
Out of season, it may be a nice beach to enjoy yourself but in the mid of August it was a disaster . Too many people, a lot of kids , too much noise and a lot of boats. It was very difficult to find a sunbed and we had to wait . 7 euros for a set of sun beds and an umbrella. The water, the day that we visited it was dirty probably from the boats.

Great beach with crystal clear waters. There is also a beach bar for everything you might need

The beach bar is capitalizing upon the movie fame so much so resulting in the degradation of the environment due to the flocking tourists when in reality this beach is practically the same as milia beach

We arrived on a island hopping boat trip the beach is in a tiny bay with sun beds also patch’s of sand to lay on crystal clear water lovely for swim there’s a beach bar but prices quite high and standard food not really inspiring popular because of the mama Mia film

Nice beach but busy when the tourist boat arrives. The music isn't too loud and it's great to come visit at sunsets

Sunbeds 10e, food or drinks you pay separate, next to it is Millia beach, where you pay 8e for pair of sunbeds.
matus kosara — Google review
Beach with nice scenary but very crowded, day trips from Skiathos come here on top of the other visitors make it one of the more crowded beaches I've seen in Greece. Worst the day trip ships basically dock on the beach on the left side (to embark/debark)....
Rental hidro bikes 30 EUR / hour, at poor condition, slides all damaged(with one exception) and kids risk injury, bored and unhelpful staff.
Bar is the highlight with good service, music and overall experience ....
Andrei-Mihai Vlad — Google review
One of my favourite beaches on the island. The water is crystal clear and there are a lot of trees around. There is also a big beach bar with sunbeds.
Maria Brami — Google review
This beach is the most commercial from Skopelos and a little bit crowded since here the Mamma Mia movie was filmed and a lot of people are interested to visit this place.
The view is very wonderful and if you will arrive there, don’t miss the sunset.
No taverna are available on the beach, only a beach bar with pizza, sandwich, tortillia and greek salad.
Alexandra Cristina Lungeanu — Google review
The beach by itself is very pretty, but it’s dangerously full of wasps, and it’s really crowded, so much that you can’t find your own spot in the sea.
Set of sunbeds and parasol is 10EUR, soft drinks in beach bar are 4EUR, and coffee is about 5EUR.
I really don’t recommend it in this time where there are this many wasps, it isn’t nice nor does it feel like vacation. Bring insect repellent with you if you’re coming!!!
*If you’re coming by car be aware of the last part of the road because it is very steep, other parts of the road are nice with beautiful views!
Isidora Zubović — Google review
Nature-wise this beach is alright. But in the reality it is commercialized overcrowded spot with 10€ umbrellas, one loud beach bar, no market and non-stop boats delivering more people all the time. The beach (bar) is promoting itself as a Mamma Mia beach, but there is literally not even an M of Mamma Mia there. Yes, they shot an opening scene at Kastani. And? The pier is long gone and the bar doesn’t play a single song from the movie in a whole day. Make yourself a favor and stay at nearby Panormos beach which is better in every aspect (free sun beds and umbrellas, a market, tavernas …).
David Tomsic — Google review
nice beach bar, ok for snorkel in the right side... are the caves
all the boats stop here , so it s a bit crowded
Paralia Milia is a serene and peaceful beach in Skopelos, known for its turquoise waters and pebbled shore. It is considered as one of the best beaches in the area, with crystal clear blue water and small stones. The left end of the beach is quiet with only a few people around, while there are also accessible beach bars that do not produce too much noise to disturb your relaxation.
One of the best beaches in Skopleos. Chrystal clear blue water, little stones, quiet at the left end with only a few people. parking on a dirt road parallel to the beach. easy to reach beach bars.
Bounty Cortez — Google review
Beautiful long beach, organised with sun-beds one end (at the car park) and free beach the other end. Nice sand, good swimming and stunning views across to Skiathos in the distance.
If you like an all-over tan then head to the non-organised end (south). In mid June it was not too busy.

June 2023:
The beach is peabbly and sandy and has stone slabs for some portions. The entry is not very shallow. The water has a beautiful turqoise shade, is clear and has a pebble floor.
There are 2 free parkings available for a few dozens cars. There are sunbeds available and a few places to have a snack.
There is enough room left unorganized to put a towel as the beach is a few hundread meters long.
It has a beautiful view towards the small island across.

Nice beach, one of the best that we visited in Skopelos with very clean water. There are beach bars around but they are not too loud, so if you don't like much noise in the sea, you can easily chill out there all day.

One of the most beautiful beaches you can visit in the island of Skopelos! The waters are crystal clear with a turqoise color. Also the beach is surrounded with the greenery of the island making it a paradise on Earth!

Beautiful beach, the cantina is great with a lot of choices for food and drinks (coffee and cocktails). Probably the best sunset in the island!
Incredible colours, among the best beaches in Skopelos. 10 euros for 2 sunbeds + umbrella
Riccardo Banterlini — Google review
Gorgeous, divine Beach, beautiful waters, despite the huge flat rocks at the beginning. No waves as it's literally a small port. However, you need to arrive very early because there is very limited parking. Most parking is unfortunately taken over by the beach bars and requires 25 euro consumption per person. Also the road to the beach is very narrow and steep.
Elena Papamichael — Google review
The are sun beds for rent if you want, there is also plenty of space if you prefer to stay away from others. The water is great, there are many underwater rocks so you could snorkel. Great fun.

It’s a cozy sandy beach, suitable for families with small children. The access in the sea is with sand and shallow waters at first and after a large smooth piece of rock. Located in a golf aria it is most of the time without waves.

Very good beach. Big and spacious parking with shades (behind the restaurant, from the main road take the 1st left next to the beach) . Nice location safe from the winds and bad weather. Amazing water and sand. The water is deep and blue like a crystal.
Ivan Yosifov — Google review
Family friendly beach, partially organized with sunbeds, with clear water and relative shallow- depth reaching around 4m...perfect for relaxing and enjoying the pitoresque landscape. Just a few small fishes swimming in this small cove it's not that appealing for snorkeling. On the right side of the beach there is a small cove about 400m from the shore. Also a small cold underwater flow can be felt near shore-no clue if it's a spring or drainage.
Paul Alexandru n — Google review
Nice beach with free space in front of the sea for those ones who don't want to sit on the beach bar. The beach bar is nice and not very loud.
The water is amazing!
As regards the car parking, if you choose to sit on the sunbeds, it's included in the price. If not, you can park on parking number 2 as long as you buy something from the bar.
Velanio Beach is a secluded spot surrounded by forested cliffs, known for its crystal clear waters and stunning sunset views. While it may take some time to reach the beach, it's definitely worth the effort. The clothing-optional section of the beach is peaceful and tranquil, but it's recommended to arrive before 4 PM as the sun sets early in this location. To get there, visitors must walk a short distance from Stafilos Beach which tends to be more crowded.
Although it will take you a while to reach it, you should definitely visit Velanio. At first sight it doesn't seem like a spectacular beach, but if you spend 2 or 3 hours there, hopefully you'll feel the soothing, loving energy and wonderful calm vibes. The nudist part of the beach is peaceful and great, but make sure to get there at least by 16h, cause the sun sets at 18h.

I am posting this so that people know that this beach is not a sunset spot. It is facing east. Good place for sunrise.
Flow Elefteria — Google review
Such a lovely beach! It’s not busy like Stafylos beach. Here you can really unwind and go slow. If you want to see sunrise this is the place! It’s so beautiful! Take a skinny dip in the water while enjoying the sunrise and the warmth of the sun on your skin, get enchanted by the view!
JP — Google review
In order to reach the beach you need to walk a bit, in our case we went to Stafilos Beach 1st, it was pretty crowdy and once we passed it, we reached Velanio. It had a way fewer people. There are also some sunbeds and umbrellas as well and a Bar. If you are looking for some quite not full place, then this is the one.
Lukasz De — Google review
Beautiful empty beach spoiled only in places by some ugly pipes and electricity cables. The water is calm and warm enough to swim (even in May). It's a nude beach once you get past the first set of large rocks so be respectful and either get naked or stay in the dressed side. :-) There is very little shade throughout the day unless you are lucky enough to grab one of the two places that provide some shade. As it's May the bar isn't open so it's as peaceful as possible. The water is extremely clean and the small stoned beach is very comfortable to lie on especially after 15:00 when the sun is less harsh. I would recommend this beach for peaceful people who want to relax though not for families with kids (it's a bit of a walk).
Jason Hickey — Google review
Really beautiful and secluded beach. We felt very well here. There is a nudist area at the end of the beach. Owners of the beach bar are super nice. 10 euros a set of 2 beds and 1 umbrella. The mojito was delicious.
Rodica Niculescu — Google review
Beach is divided in two sections. First part of Velanio beach is textile, the second part (after big rock) is nudist. Everyone there was naked. If you choose this section - please enjoy the Greek sun without your clothes!
To access this beach you need to walk to the end of stafilos beach and take the path through the trees to reach velanio beach. Mid June quite a few people but still plenty of space to spread out.
Swimming was lovely (be aware of some rocks in places). Easy access to water without swim shoes but the dark sand gets very hot so something on your feet might be needed to get to the water.
john francomb — Google review
Access to the beach is through Stafilos beach or by boat. Rocky clean beach with a beach bar and good cocktails. Umbrellas are 7e for the day.
Milena Savić — Google review
Wide pebbled, windy, mostly wild, unorganised beach(excepting a small beach bar with sundbeds and umbrellas)...the water is clear, pretty deep with sandy bottom mixed with rocky formations and algae and can be taken in consideration for snorkeling. The left side of the beach(after some giant boulders) is unoficially a FKK beach.

A little corner in paradise. Amazing water.
-Umbrellas not too close one to another for 10 euros/day
- little bar serving tasty and fresh food (fruit and salads in cute bowls - like at home)
- the owner and his colleagues were all really smiley and nice
We went two days in a row..it was not crowded!
The Church of the Virgin Mary (Panagitsa Tower) is a 17th-century gem located at the edge of the port, offering stunning views of Skopelos town and the sea. A short walk from here leads to the Venetian Castle, where charming cafes and tavernas await, providing an ideal vantage point for breathtaking panoramas. The area is perfect for capturing memorable photos, especially during sunset.

Glysteri Beach is a picturesque public beach located in a narrow cove. The shoreline is covered with small pebbles that offer visitors the perfect spot to soak up some sun. There are also several sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent, providing ample opportunities for relaxation and comfort during your stay. Additionally, a convenient beach bar serves up refreshing drinks to quench your thirst while you enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding area.
Always a great beach if you like a vibe.. can be a little windy sometimes but generally it’s a fantastic place to chill. Top quality sunbeds which cost €12 for a pair for the entire day (probably some of the most comfortable on the island).
A good selection of food from Pizza/salads/Burgers and sandwiches. I had a Caesar Sandwich which was really nice and good value €7 as there was plenty of side chips.
Only warning for people who want peace and quiet is that there is music but the music to me is always good.

Its probably one of the most expensive ones, but in my opinion its worth the money. The sunbeds are really comfortable, the umbrellas are big enough to cover both of the sunbeds, the service is also great (you can order drinks while chilling on the sunbed if you manage to “catch” the staff). You can also pay by card.

For us it was our favorite beach, here, on this island. Located in a pleasant privacy bay, with a cool breeze from the sea almost everytime, with large sunbeds and umbrellas, that give a perfectly natural shade, you can easily spend the whole day in a pleasant atmosphere listening cool music. The right area of the beach is more quiet and comfortable.
CAPATINA ROXANA — Google review
The set up of the beach bar is very beautiful, the staff was very kind and the coffee was nice BUT the music was WAY TOO LOUD all the day long, the songs played were nice but didn’t help you to chill out. The beach bar takes up almost all of the beach and leaves almost no place for people who don’t want to just relax by the sea. The beach overall is green and blue- very scenic BUT with 12€ per set of sunbeds and a pricey catalogue in general you would expect to at least CLEAN THE SEA. It was filled with plastic. At least pitiful.

(Translated by Google) Quiet sandy with some pebbles at the beginning as you enter the sea, but then it continues to sand. One of the best beaches on the island, as others are very overrated, in a picturesque large cove. Ideal for children, unorganized (as if it's a bad thing) beach, with a tavern at the beginning. It makes fredo coffee for €3, but don't expect much. It is the closest in the country, with access from a narrow road, with a relative difficulty in going down or up the road by car. When there are a lot of people, parking is very difficult. In the afternoon after 18:00 the sun hides behind the hill, if you consider that a disadvantage.

It was a great hiking experience! The view was beautiful. Also, the climb was not too hard. Before the hiking trail, there is a 1 km distance dirt road. At the end of the dirt road, there is a sign which points to the right. You can see it in one of the photos. The trail which you have follow is few meters before the sign. Don't miss it! You should follow the red marks on the stones. They navigate you to the tombs. Hope you enjoy it like I did.

Pretty beach but not as nice as it's neighbour. It's certainly better to come here though if you have kids or can't walk too far. There are steps on the way down to the beach that are fine but if you have trouble getting up and down stairs is something to note. Park before the STOP sign on the left in the car park of the restaurant (which opens on May 20th for the season). Not a lot of shade so come early and try to grab the spot under the tree on the right of the steps before anyone else. Of course this spot will be the most busy when it's hot so be prepared. Bring a couple of large bottles of water to the beach if you're going to stay more than a couple of hours and its not peak season yet.
Very small orthodox monastery. The road is narrow but good. Coming from Skoplos it's just 4km, take right turn and few hundred meters it's there. There is small parking lot and if there are more people it will be an issue. In the afternoon there is no people all the Greeks are resting 😉 people there are very nice and they will open the church if you ask

(Translated by Google) From sun accommodation, walk up and uphill. Be careful outside the car. It is not very hot in early June. There is a cool wind blowing through it, and it will pass through gas stations, mining plants, stone rolling plants, and garbage separation and recycling plants. Because the road was unfamiliar, the journey took about an hour and a half, and the return journey went downhill for about an hour.

A peaceful monastery. A perfect place to rest and enjoy the beautiful scenery. There’s is one munk living there so I would recommend being some appropriate clothes (I just had a long skirt in my backpack and put it on before going in). There was also a friendly man working there that l told us a lot about the history of the place. In the monastery you can buy beautiful ceramics made by the munk.
The route was nicely marked with “T1” signs all the way. It was quite steep, so I would recommend going early before it gets to hot.
Mette Mollerup Bjorvand — Google review
Well kept monastery, with excellent views particularly at sunset. A plethora of cats lurk, as well as a nasty tempered dog, but he's kept locked in a pen. Worth seeing as part of the signed T1 hike route.

Beautiful monastery with an amazing view. The keeper of the monastery is lovely and speaks good English. Make sure you use the gift shop to contribute to keeping these lovely places alive.

Follow the road to the monasteries; Prodromos monastery is about one km from the place where the asphalt ends and macadam starts. The place is reachable by car no problem but a walk might be a good idea as well if the weather allows it. This is a big monastery, probably the biggest on this side of mount Palouki. The peace and quiet, especially on a hot summer day, is amazing.

This is a must-see in Skopelos. Monk Theodosius is amazing.
We went there at sunset, absolutely recommended as there were few people (4) and the sunlight was amazing.
The last part of the road to get there is a dirt road, we didn't have any problem as we had an ATV. Other people decided to leave the car behind and walked the last part.

Dirt road just before Agnontas when driving from Skopelos. Several beautiful coves along the way with some space for parking. Access is perilous with steep slopes and sharp rocks but the sea is magnificent.
Thomas Conté — Google review
It’s a long walk from the busstation from Agnondas. Might be around 25/30 minutes. If you have a car or scooter or even ATV, that would be easier. On the end of the road you have multiple places to go to: left is the cove, straight ahead it’s the enf of the little island, right is most crowded with boats as well. But, all of it is absolutely worth the walk. It is beautiful and the water is amazing. Just look out for sea urchins when you get in and out of the water using rocks.

Best place to relax on Island, and be with nature and not many people if you're lucky, you can get pine trees just for you for some time and jump off a cliff for some fun... Beware of the urchins they love to be there.
Unfortunately the surrounding forest was burned some years ago, bet it's getting better now🏕

Beautiful cove, very picturesque. Road not great, be ready for a walk and to get in and out of sea rocks are sharp - but worth the effort!

Beautiful spot to go and visit if you get the chance.. best time to see is from mid afternoon for a swim and then to watch the sunset which is spectacular.
If you do go for a swim make sure you take swimming shoes as the rocks are pretty sharp, also there are loads of urchins on the rocks.
I’ve been going for years and I like to sit under one of the trees before Amarandos where it’s quieter to read and swim off the rocks.

Beatiful place to visit. There was quite alot of people because its so popular, but it really is a stunning place. You can also jump into the water.

Very good and cinematic place to visit. Also good place if you're camping in Greece, however it can be crowded starting from afternoon and till evening, a lot of tourists go there but they go away in the evening. However there can be some fishing boats after which make some noise.
Beautiful monastery with a very kind very smiley welcoming lady looking after it. A worthwhile the visit stunning views

Unfortunately, the main part of our visit was closed and we could only see it from behind the fence.

Piękny monastyr po drodze, a w zasadzie tuż obok drugiego Timios Prodromos.
Niestety podszywa naszej wizyty był zamknięty i mogliśmy obejrzeć go jedynie zza ogrodzenia.

(Translated by Google) The beginning of the road is quiet, after a few hundred meters the road starts to get narrow. In some places it is significantly damaged. There are rocks on one side and an abyss on the other. Next there are gravel roads and more steep climbs. Traveling up the mountain by car or scooter is quite risky, especially for people without experience. Definitely a route for off-road vehicles or quads. After reaching the place, we discover a beautiful landscape of monasteries and a neighboring island.
