Undoubtedly one of the most spectacular squares in Italy, almost entirely surrounded by the sea. You can see many islands of the arcipelago, and you can enjoy some fantastic views od the city of Piombino. Go there at dusk and you won't regret it.

The Baratti and Populonia Archaeological Park is a remarkable site showcasing some of the best Etruscan remains in Tuscany. The vast green park offers four well-marked walking trails that lead to the ruins of an ancient town and remarkably preserved prehistoric tombs. One of the highlights is the Necropoli di San Cerbone, featuring gigantic circular tumulus tombs, including the impressive Tomba dei Carri with a diameter of 28m.
Highly recommended archaeological site where you can learn more about the Etruscans and especially their tombs. Very extensive area, you should take a lot of time, you can easily walk 2-3 through the area. In any case, take something to drink, sunscreen and good shoes.
There are also several guided tours per day, which are included in the ticket price and are held in English or Italian.

Overpriced, inaccessible by public transport, but the site is very interesting. You have to pay for parking too, more info available in German and Italian only. The cashier lady was very unfriendly after we did not understand well her English. You pay separately for zones or much more for the whole site. We visited the necropolis section which was very interesting though.

The Gulf of Baratti is a small, round inlet that showcases a curved shoreline with sandy shores. It also boasts a cluster of pine trees and remnants of the Etruscan civilization. This bay offers an opportunity to engage in various outdoor activities while immersing oneself in nature's beauty. The waters are ideal for swimming or water sports, and the beach is perfect for sunbathing or picnicking amidst the stunning scenery.

The Lido Bagno Baratti offers a pleasant beach experience for a reasonable price. For 23 euros, visitors can rent two beds and one parasol. The venue operates from 16:00 to 19:30, with no discounts provided for shorter rentals. The restaurant tends to be busy, resulting in long waits, but the hotdogs and fries are satisfactory. However, the drinks could be colder.

We had a nice day at the beach. For 23 euro you get two beds and one parasol. We came around 16:00 and the venue closed at 19:30, we did not get a discount for renting only 3,5 hours. The restaurant was very busy and we needed to wait a long time. We ordered the hotdog and fries, those were fine. The drinks were not so cold.
Overall we enjoyed sitting there, the staff is nice and they have a open-air shower (you need a microchip , you can get it for 10 euro deposit) also you have a changing room. Toilets are further back in a separate building.

This is one of those places you go to because there is not so much other cultural things in the area to see. But this is a good surprise when you arrive. Beautiful small streets with cosy restaurants. A small fee and you can go all the way up in the tower. But have in mind, you need to be fit and not too young and not too old for this. Ones you are up this is a breathtaking view of the area.

Stunning vistas and to walk and look around the castle/fortress has a fairly inexpensive ticket price. Such a beautiful place to drink wine, taste olive oil and eat food. For 20 Euros we were treated to a first class tour! Eddie poured us healthy wine tasting portions and served a beautiful meat and cheese plate to enjoy with the afternoon. We walked through the olive orchards and up to the small lot production vineyard where we enjoyed panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. We loved that this winery does not use pesticide in its orchard and produces award winning wine with a minimum use of sulphites. If you like to support small local businesses, enjoy great service and wine…..this is a great place for you!
Cory Novosel — Google review
It's great to see people care about something so much that they do it so well. That's the case with this winery. You can tell the owners have taken so much care in the details. They care for the environment (using solar panels, irrigating with their own water supply, being organic); they care for aesthetics (the wine-tasting room has a calming sense and is very well decorated, the house is beautiful, the grounds and vineyards are well-cared for); and they of course care about the wine (the history behind the names and local area, using the best grapes for the region, and the care taken in the creation of their wine). My wife and I just stopped by for a tour and tasting, and we were happily surprised by the experience we had there! It is a great winery, and I would HIGHLY recommend it!

A wonderful modern museum, explaining the archaeology of the Etruscans in a logical, chronological order. Every description is in both Italian and English. Very helpful staff (the ones we met speak little English, but we got by anyway, with a few words and a bit of gesticulating). They even invited us to bring our dogs in so that we could visit together rather than one after the other. I couldnt believe that, but luckily our dogs are well behaved, although bored!

Buca delle fate is a characteristic cove along the Etruscan Coast in Tuscany, offering panoramic vistas over the sea and rocky coast. The pebble beach lies between a stretch of rocky coastline with crystal clear waters due to the rocky seabed. Accessible by a path, it's recommended to bring water shoes for swimming due to sharp rocks.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful small museum, well set up and interesting for the artefacts on display. Thanks also to the staff who are very friendly towards visitors. Necessary stage to better understand Populonia and Baratti.
