The Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Monastery in Batam is a sizeable Buddhist temple that houses numerous statues and also features a vegetarian eatery. A popular attraction among tourists, the complex includes three main halls dedicated to Buddha, Guang Kong and Guan Yin. Visitors can browse through a shop selling various Buddha-related items such as souvenirs and clocks.

I still remember the sight of it, and i do really miss that times. But the last time i visit which is 1 weeks before i upload this experience, i do find some tourist from Indian and America. I hope all place will be recover like the old times.

Nice place but extremely crowded on cny day 1 as they provide free vegetarian food whole day.
Definitely worth a visit as it is a huge temple with many nice Buddha statues.
Parking is by chance as it is really very crowded.

This is one of Batam main Chinese/Buddhist Temple. This is a very peaceful place. There is a huge complex with three main halls for Buddha, Guang Kong and Guan Yin. There is a vegetarian restaurant as well too. Nice place for a break and a taste for vegan food. And a shop that sells all the Buddha items, including beautiful clocks and souvenirs to buy and take home. Almost all tour agents include this in their programmed.

Very tranquil and peaceful environment. Came here to pray for family's wellbeing and personal welbeing. There is a kindergarten and school at the back of the temple. Temple is well maintained and clean.
Side note, the cafe serves one of the nicest strawberry latte I've ever had.

One of the acclaimed biggest Buddhist monasteries in the world which has become an important religious place for Buddhists and Taoists in Batam.
Its architectures are impressive and environment are clean and peaceful. The area is so huge that it has 3 halls dedicated to statues of Buddha, Guang Yin and Guan Kong.
There are also many granite statues of laughing Buddha and other important figures in Taoism.
It's nearby a university school, gift shop, coffee stalls and a restaurant that serve only vegetarian items.

It's unfortunate that there wasn't much information on Fortunate Coffee. Hence, we add at the cafeteria instead. Could have tried here for the vegetarian fusion menu.
Good to have the owner to post more pictures of menu.
Overall, a peaceful place to be at.

This is the biggest Buddhist temple at Batam. It is a huge complex build on a little hill, with the main vihara (shrine) in the centre, and the adjacent buildings of schools like Sekolah Menengah Maitreyawira and Universitas Universal. There are preschool and primary schools too. Within the complex, there is a souvenirs shop and a restaurant selling vegetarian foods and products. This place is really worth visiting and you'll be awed by how huge the place is! I am really impressed !

Must visit. Big monastery 3 mains hall, Level 2 & 3 for various Buddha. Served vegetarian food and snacks. Tranquil and peaceful.
The Grand Mosque of Batam is a beautiful and unique architectural building that should not be missed by visitors. The interior is spacious and carpeted, although seating on the floor may be challenging for some. This clean mosque has an expansive compound with a large main prayer hall and ground carpark available for parking. Visitors can also experience new culture by interacting with the locals outside of the prayer halls during prayers sessions.
Different architectural building not like other mosque design. Inside is wide and open. Carpet is appreciated because marble floor is convenient but honestly seating on the floor was not easy. Clean mosque. Interestingly there is no shoe/slipper box that you have to put somewhere outside.

A very lovely mosque that is well worth a visit for anyone visiting Batam. I spend a good hour there when prayers session was on-going. My family and I was invited to sit with the locals outside of the prayer halls. We are grateful to be able to interact with the the locals. It's a good way to experience new culture, an enchanting and spiritual afternoon
The architecture was beautiful too.

It is the biggest mosque in Batam city so you can easily notice it from the main road. I think it is one of the landmarks in Batam. From this mosque you can see Welcome To Batam statue clearly. It is also famous landmarks in Batam.
Inside this mosque is very comfortable. Thick carpets are installed, air conditioners, and beautiful interior design. The ablution rooms are wide enough and clean.
Near the mosque you can find souvenir shops and restaurants. The parking area is not big enough for cars and motorcycles.

Mega Mall Batam Centre is a widely-known and expansive shopping complex that offers an array of retailers, dining choices, and entertainment options such as a supermarket and movie theater. It is a great spot to pass the time with various reasonably-priced food outlets. However, the clothing brand shops are not branded ones. Despite this, it still provides an adequate experience overall. The mall strictly implements health protocols during the pandemic so visitors need not worry about their safety while exploring the area.
As a Citizen here in Batam for more than 10+ years,i can say that this place is the best Mall located in batam. The mall is huge, both having 4 lobbies,it also has 2 parking lot sites which is huge and has lots of parking spaces. Now getting into the Mall, the place has many restaurant/places to eat here, like the fast food brands, etc. It also has shopping places and specifically the popular ones, like gucci, louis vitton (idk how to spell it),etc. It also has a huge arcade which also has a bowling area too.It also has a movie threater which has mamy movies avaible there. So this may be the best Shopping Mall in Batam Centre OAT.But when 1batam mall finnaly has more than 1 floor,it might outpass Mega Mall.Good👍

Mega Mall Batam Centre is a large shopping mall located in the Batam Centre area. The mall is integrated with the Batam Center Grand Mosque, Batam Ferry Port, the mayor's office, the DPRD office, and the BI office. It is a popular shopping destination for both locals and tourists.
I recently had the opportunity to visit Mega Mall Batam Centre. I was impressed with the mall's size and variety of stores. There are over 300 stores in the mall, including fashion stores, electronics stores, department stores, and food courts. I also found that the mall was clean and well-maintained.
I spent a few hours shopping at Mega Mall Batam Centre. I found some great deals on clothing and electronics. I also enjoyed eating at one of the food courts. The food was delicious and affordable.
Overall, I had a positive experience at Mega Mall Batam Centre. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great shopping experience in Batam.

The location is very strategic, since it is near the ferry port.
In the mall, there are a variety of dining options.

One of the OK mall to go. All of those coming from Singapore used to think that we were travelling to a low budget country, so we can buy lots of things at cheaper rate. If you were the one who is travelling in that idea, then close it. You were totally wrong. BATAM peoples were also living at singapore as per them. All those malls were equally the rate of Singapore shops. All their maximum target is touristors from Singapore, so they will reduce the price like No Change and sell the items at same price.
Mohamed Shoaib — Google review
The mall is very big, and I think the elevator positions are also good, with directional signs everywhere.
You can find mostly everything here, as in any usual mall 🙂
But there is no Burger King here.

There are several coffee shops and ATMs.
There is a large Hypermarket on the lower ground floor, offering the typical groceries and retail goods.
The mall is very conveniently located, being connected via a covered walkway to the Batam centre ferry terminal and being opposite the Harris Hotel, Batam centre.

I have a harrowing experince. Just imagine when i dropped in to woodsland ,singapore i was duped by a taxi driver. I told the driver that i wanna catch a boat to batam. And the driver sent me to harbour point where the boat service is no longer active. Mean to say that the taxi drivers doesnt knows that the ferry service to batam had been moved to Tanah Merah? The next driver that i hailed is even ridiculous. Ferry terminal last ride is at 5pm. When i reach harbour point it was already 6pm. When i check with him that i was taken for a ride he told the white taxi cannot be trusted. Only the blue taxi is more honest. Now question is he also doesnt know that the last boat is at 5pm ah? Still sending me to the terminal. We reach there around 8pm! What a joke it is. So ,we have no choice but to take his cab back to Bedok which is the nearest as what he say.

The place gets super messy during long weekends. I started queuing more than an hour before my ferry boarding time, and still was not able to board.
At the beginning, the crowd was managed by officers allowing passengers to board the up-riding escalator in batches. HOWEVER, they don't check the boarding time of the passengers and just let people go in. They also allowed people who just entered the terminal (to give the benefit of the doubt) who were not aware there is a snaking queue to cut the line.
A suggestion for the terminal, please check the boarding time of each passengers first and prioritize accordingly, so people can reach their ferry on time and it saves people a lot of anxiety.
Katerine Lesmana — Google review
Oh dear. The queue management is just terrible. We queued for 1.5 hours in an endless snaking line, with our toddler in a stroller, watching later comers cutting queues assisted by officers. Smoking area is just beside the line and we had no choice but to suffer from the toxic smoke and atrocious odour. Though we were offered to be in the priority queue once inside the checkpoint proper, the priority counter is the furthest one from entrance!
No lift to higher levels. There’s a link bridge connecting to Mega Mall, but people need to climb some stairs at the start. The link bridge is closed as early as 8pm and no signage stating this.

Strategically located in the downtown area that connects to Batam Mall with a link pedestrian bridge.
The place is well organized and clean. This ferry terminal serves the ferry to Johor Bahru and Singapore.
Ticketing counter, luggage handling service, money changer, information counter, tourists sim card services, toilets and food court are available here.

This is one of international ports in Batam. It is easy to access if you stay in the downtown area. However, online taxis are not allowed for passenger's pick-up. You can travel to Singapore and Malaysia from here. You only need to buy ticket directly from the companies' outlet. Advanced ticket booking is not advantageous according to me. There are also some public facilities in the building such as food and beverage stalls, restrooms, and power outlets. You can also find money changers here. The staffs are friendly and helpful enough.

Sometimes the ferry will close 15 mins before departure so need to go in at least 30-40 mins as the queue can be long. Otherwise quick check in.

The terminal is not very big. On the first floor, there are a few fashion shop. Whereas on the second floor, there are a few restaurants and minimarts. You can walk over to Mega Mall using the link bridge. But their toilets are quite dirty maybe coz too people using them. The aircon is also not strong before you go through the immigration. While waiting for the ferry, they have 2 shops if you need to buy last minute souvenirs. The aircon is cooling
Sewfuntastic 2015 — Google review
We can only check-in our baggage 1h before departure time and this 1h is not enough to queue, clear customs and board the ferry on time. Advise all to not check-in baggage during long weekends and queue ahead of time so you will not miss your ferry. If you do miss your ferry, approach your operator and they probably will let u board the next ferry if there are empty seats.

It was the worst experienced. I got scammed by the money exhanger inside the Batam Terminal.
Their ATM don't work with VISA so I went to the monen exchanger.
When I arrived the hotel I counted and calculated the agreed conversion rate. But the money was lacking around 49SGD.
Please. Dont ever exchange your money in the Batam center terminal. Do it in Singapore instead.
Never ever gonna return here.
The good thing is the accomodation. Thanks Swiss belinn. And the people are friendly around. Also the grab drivers.

In the center of Batam City, one of most popular ferry terminal to across our neighbor country, Singapore. its about 30 minutes to reach this place from Hang Nadim Airport. Try the new adventurous day to sail over Singapore via Ferry by this place. You can buy online ticket or offline at the sales counter located at 2nd floor. Many vary of ferry operator, I use Sindo Ferry, bought from Marlin Booking only Rp 280.000 /person round trip all are inclusive. After check in at Sindo Ferry counter, went to the Immigration Inspection, aside of boarding card, so be ready with your passport and ID (KTP). And after boarding call, walk along the departure gate to the ferry..ready to go.
