Peoples Park is a relaxing and inviting area that offers ample space for socializing and recreation. It boasts expansive green lawns, a well-maintained outdoor bowling green, and several tennis courts that provide opportunities for physical activity. This park provides an ideal setting for gathering with friends or family to enjoy the outdoors and engage in leisurely activities such as picnicking, strolling, playing games or just lounging on the grass.
A lovely environment all round, so popular & was really busy on the day myself & my little nephew visited. He was straight to the on site park, had to try everything on offer, then it was straight to the outdoor skater/scooter facility ( Though he forgot his scooter!) But we shall return with better preparation for sure . A lovely duck pond and football/tennis facilities here as well, a very nice place indeed.

Well maintained park great for walks or just feeding the ducks. Nice play area for children, outdoor workout machines, tennis courts and newly built skate park. Benches located throughout the park. Free parking and toilets on site. Don't leave the park after closing time because they don't check if there are visitors in the park and they will lock you in. When we approached about being locked in they just stared at us and shrugged their shoulders. We eventually ended up climbing over the wall to get out.

Great place to take kids, walk the dog or just simply meet a friend for a coffee. One of the best play parks about. My 7 year old son loves going here!

It has a spot for everyone in the family, fun area for the kids. It is lovely to have a skaters area too.

Brilliant park with everything needed to keep little ones busy. Probably one of the best park suited for toddlers we've been to, most of parks tend to have equipment for bigger children and very little for toddlers, but over here most everything is suitable for toddlers. Plus nice walking paths and a duck pond.

We have been just to the playground, there wasn't enough time to go around. Kids loved. Playground is amazing! It's so big and full of different activities. Beside the playground are pond with wild ducks that you can feed and a facility with a toilets. There are plenty of space to park.

Have never seen a play park like this before absolutely fabulous lots for all children even teenagers
Absolutely fantastic spot. Great for young kids. Find a clue at each area to solve the puzzle, kids love it. Extremely well done! Been here twice but recently visited so daughter could leave her dummys for the fairy. Was more impressed when we seen a new addition to the trail ,the dummy drum. Drop your dummy in the drum, cute little poems and expressions all dotted over the trail. Takes about 1.5 hours all flat ground bar one which has steps.
Brilliant place to go and very cheap!

The trail was a great outdoors activity to take the kids around. When we went it had been decorated with a Halloween theme was a bit too scary at times for our 5 year old, who would've preferred it to be just the fairy theme instead. The route was easy enough to follow, although some of the riddles/clues on the activity sheet didn't seem to match up with the physical elements of the trail.
Simon — Google review
The fairy trail is absolutely fantastic for the first 10-11 posts. The last one or two posts however are across a muddy meadow. First we couldn't find that last post as the signs suddenly weren't good anymore (for the first 4/5 of the path the signs are super clear). By the time we arrived the garden centre was closed, so that might be part of the issue. We could only reach the posts by crossing the muddy meadow and our shoes all got soaking wet with mud. We also couldn't find the unicorn shoe, even after looking for 15min (4 adults and 2 kids) which was a bit disappointing.
One other thing that bothered us was the aggressive signage for people that are trespassing and haven't paid for the trail. For us that have paid for the trail it felt annoying to keep encountering these signs and we also felt like actual trespassers wouldn't care. It would be way smarter to add a QR code that would actually allow people to pay for the trail... Just a suggestion.
Apart from that the trail is AMAZING and we really really enjoyed it. Some better signage and maybe a bit of a path through the mud with wooden planks or so would make the experience a 5* one :).
Also the office building closes after 4pm. So when you start the trail at 4pm you won't have toilet facilities when you get back. We actually took 3 hours with two kids aged 4 and 6. Since there was no available facility we ended up heading to the posh golf club up the road. The people there were super friendly and let us use their toilets, it seems they knew about the problem. I feel like there should be a toilet available for people getting back from the trail...

A bit of fun while getting some exercise. Some the 'exhibits' along the route are in need of repair. For example, pinocchio is missing limbs or in the fairy library some of the books have no covers.
Although most of the route was self explanatory with the trail guide booklet, but the section after the crossing the road was not obvious and ended up doing parts of that in the wrong order.
The detail on the fairy houses were amazing and loved walking through the trail.
Emma Roberts — Google review
Trail was really good but it would benefit from having more/clearer directions throughout (arrows on path), including where to collect tickets during the week when cottage is closed, especially for first timers. Also no toilet facilities available when we visited including what appeared to be a disabled toilet with additional lock.

We realy enjoyed it , we have 3 small kids 6,4 and 2 ,took us almost 2 hours which was great excersise for the kids , they loved spotting the clues, a realy nice experience, would do again , we did take a stroller an although a little difficult in some areas we managed fine

Great place for kids, not too long a walk. Someone clearly gone to a lot of effort but some of the warning signs are a little off-putting.

A lovely way to spend a couple of hours and really reasonable, my 3 year old was free. Our reason for going was to find the do-do tree and dropping it in the barrel worked well. Only tiny negative was that the dummy tree wasn't marked on the trail map - a bit hidden between points 8 and 9. The fairy trail is really well done and is all self-led so you can take as much or as little time as you want. Lunch in the Garden Centre is a nice treat afterwards!
Very helpful staff over and above the normal , thanks again.

The Fairhill Shopping Centre is a modern retail destination that boasts an impressive array of popular brand-name fashion, technology and food stores. The mall offers shoppers a fantastic selection of shops to choose from while keeping the number of empty units to a minimum. With its diverse range of offerings, the Fairhill Shopping Centre caters to customers looking for high-quality products and services in a convenient and contemporary setting.
Great wee shopping centre, love a trip to Fairhill.....hey. Plenty of shopping and some real good shops.

Fairhill is good for Marks and Spensers, this is the only reason I call into it. Over the years the shopping centre has been hit by decline and lots of closures. Hopefully some day it will return to its former glory.

Coming from someone who used to go here every week, this shipping centre is the definition of "fell off"
Half of the shops are closed and the other half have their prices artificially raised to cover ever-increasing rent costs.
It used to be that you could spend an entire day here and always have some shop to check out or café to get some food, but because the owners keep rising rent prices this is no longer possible

This shopping centre is quite good, for food there is sorrento the wildflower bakery subway and Burger King. The marks and Spencer’s is large. The next and newlook and riverisland are good sizes. New shops have opened over the past while such as salt rock and the newly done up riverisland. There still seems to be work being done such as the new large primark opening and the new jack and jones

Was a decent shopping centre. New number plate recognition parking system is so awful and creates queues to pay even when the fairhill isn't busy, Will be an absolute nightmare at Christmas! Would be a good system if it actually worked, puts me off going here.

The parking app is a bit of a rip off costing you 50p extra than paying with cash. And don't sign up for the text messages it invites you to, they forget to tell you that they will charge for those too 🧐

The one star relates ENTIRELY to their new ANPR camera ticketless car park. Utter shambles. Insufficient payment machines equating to ridiculous queues. Stupid.
I did the Darkness Into Light walk here recently and it was an excellent experience. The lands around the centre are beautiful and the walking path is easy to follow. It's a lovely scenic place for a good long walk and feels like a hidden gem in the middle of the town.

Need a couple of hrs away from it all? This is the place to go. Many trails to follow. Ideal for walking, cycling, running. Bring the kids and the dogs, bring a picnic and enjoy it beside the water. If you want bring a treat for the ducks, preferably not bread. Call in at the sensory Garden or call in at the market garden and take a pic with Slemish in the background. Enjoy.

The ECOS visitor centre is on the outskirts of Ballymena. The centre highlights environmental issues and promotes a sustainable future. It's a great location for walking, running, picnics and bike riding. The woodland walk passes close to the motorway at one part, but everywhere else along the walks is peaceful near a river, lake or willow, apple and hazel trees. Its a good place to see wildfowl. There's plenty of free parking and all the walks are flat and tarmaced.

I'm sure this place was well looked after when it first opened. Covid looks like it has taken its toll on the cafe and centre. Still ideal for walks and dog walking. Visually needs some attention in places.

Ballymena Showgrounds, a renowned sports complex in Northern Ireland, is conveniently located near the vibrant shopping town of Ballymena. Situated by the main M2 motorway, it serves as a pivotal connection between Belfast and Londonderry/Derry. Only two miles away from County Donegal, this modern facility boasts a newly constructed access road leading to a spacious carpark. Additionally, multiple AstroTurf football pitches are situated behind the main Stand & Ground area.
Google brought me to the Warren street entrance which wasn't wrong. We had to take the entrance for the ecos centre instead which is an alternative way to get into the grounds(I think the warren street entrance is mainly for football matches and the likes)

Covid-19 drive thru testing centre attendee. Very helpful staff and I must say I really appreciate the hard work these people are doing as I myself am a front line worker for during covid-19 also so I know the importance of moral support throughout this. I hope this gets back to them because in that heat with piles of cars coming and going it cannot be easy at all. Please if you see this wear your mask in the car, keep your windows up unless told otherwise to protect the staff and yourself and most of all be patient with the staff they are doing an amazing job and it is not easy! Thanks again.
Fabulous Irish linens in all weights and colours in remanants. Serious business making a decision on first visit but full of inspiration and thoughts on leaving with a definite return in mind. Gracehill is a small settlement located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It can be found approximately 3 kilometers away from Ballymena and is situated within the townland of Ballykennedy. This quaint village forms part of the Borough of Mid & East Antrim and boasts a peaceful atmosphere with picturesque surroundings.
Rita at the Ballymena Tourist Information Centre was an amazing help to us while we were visiting Northern Ireland. Not only did she direct us toward a ton of great and useful information, she patiently worked on the phones for nearly half an hour trying to find a doctor for me to see. If you are ever in Co. Antrim and need some tourist information or other help, I highly recommend this office and the staff.
Rememberce Sunday witnessed a significant gathering of people, an event that will remain etched in their memories for years to come. Representing the Ulster Unionist Party, I had the privilege of laying the wreath. Ballymena's Memorial Park, located in Northern Ireland, is renowned for its exquisite upkeep and well-maintained grass and flower beds.
Rememberce Sunday the biggest crowd of people watching I can remember for many years. I was honored to lay the wreath on behalf of the Ulster Unionist Party . Balllymena's Memorial Park is one of the loveliest in Northern Ireland. Really well kept grass and lovely flower beds. There are two large Memorials ( 1914 - 1918 and 1939 - 1945) with hundreds of names of those who gave their all with Korean names on one on the largest memorial, also Victoria Cross memorial (3 names), RUCGC, UDR, USC and other smaller memorials.

With covid and the attendant restrictions much in the news and at the forefront of our thinking it is reassuring to see the provision Wellington has made to ensure, as far as anyone can, that the venue is safe for people to attend. There is a booking platform on the website for the following Sunday's two morning services. Stewards meet you at the door and once it is confirmed that you are on their list, a steward shows you to your assigned seat. Face masks are required and there is a no-touch hand sanitizer at each door. After the service everyone retakes their seats until the stewards come to their row and notify them that they can now exit the building. It is clear than a lot of planning went into this and it results in people feeling safe meeting in an indoor environment. Well done Wellington for investing the time and money. You will be assured of a warm welcome if you attend, just make sure to book via the website (required to ensure compliance with social distancing requirements). Enjoyed being back at church on Sunday - first since Christmas.
