If you like wine, you must pay a visit to this famous winery.
We went with a group of friends to do a tasting and we loved it. María, the guide, is a delight: cheerful, friendly and a very good professional. It gives thousands of data about the history of the company and the process of obtaining the different times of wines that originate in this land. You can tell that he likes his work and that transfers it to the visitors.
After the visit, we had a wine tasting accompanied by chips and nuts. If desired, more dishes can be consumed.
In the tasting area there is a restaurant and a shop.
We were lucky enough to see an area of the cellars decorated for the celebration of a wedding reception and we really liked it. It's quite a nice place for a celebration.
The part that I liked the most was the museum, where you can see the importance of the brand in Spanish culture. I didn't have time to be able to read and soak up all the details... but the wine tasting was waiting for us.
In short, an experience of 10.

Osborne. Osborne is one of the oldest firms of wine and spirits in Spain. It was founded by the young English entrepreneur Thomas Osborne Mann, who started shipping his own sherries in 1804

The best thing about El Puerto! We signed up for a guided tour of the bodega at 10 am in English, it was very informative - mainly about the history of the bodega, how sherry is made and tastings at the end. They are very generous with the sherry tastings and it’s totally worth the 14€. The museum inside is also really interesting! You also get to see the “cathedral” as they call the room where they store and ferment the sherry.

Two for one! First off, the Osborne tour gives you the chance to learn about the classic process of making Spanish Sherry. Tour guides available in multiple languages make very a great tour. Secondly, you'll also get the chance to visit the Toro Gallery. Here you can learn all about the history of the iconic Spanish bull. Most importantly, at the conclusion of the tour, you will be able to taste the varieties of Osborne Spanish Sherry.

As one of the cities most important tourist attractions. It might be an idea to not have given the contract of running the catamaran service to a bus company. Who like to provide replacement buses at the drop of a hat. The catamaran service is a beautiful way of travelling when working. I encourage all visitors and locals to not use the service unless it's a catamaran. You can ask for your money back. As the bus company is keen to make more money and not provide the service advertised.

Bodegas Gutiérrez Colosía is located in the urban bodega district of Campo de Guia, situated between Plaza del Toros and the river. Most of these historic bodegas date back to the 19th century, offering a glimpse into the industrialization of wine culture during that time. The classic-style bodega was established in 1838 and has been under the ownership of the Gutierrez family for over a century.
This is a smaller (but one of the original) sherry winery you can visit in El Puerto and we visited as they happened to be open for evening tours whilst we were there. Monica was a fantastic guide and the tour was super informative and interesting. The tour was followed by a tasting at Bespoke Restaurant nearby and we loved trying the wines alongside well-suited parings.

Really interesting place to visit. Here you will learn about the history and production of all the main types of Sherry. Fino, manzanilla,, amontillado, oloroso, palo cortado, cream and Pedro Ximénez are all made here. Some of the casks used in the solera system are over 100 years old. Tours available in both Spanish or English. You get a wonderful opportunity to taste all of the products and perhaps you can buy some to take home. Plenty of locals pop in with their plastic bottles to purchase 2 litres of sherry vinegar for their salad dressings. The ticket includes tasting and costs €15 (Feb 2023) which is excellent value.

Castillo de San Marcos is a significant medieval castle that offers guided tours. The castle has a rich history and features a wine cellar where visitors can taste various wines. Loved this church
When we were approaching it was loads of people milling around and we soon realised it was a religious parade as they had just taken a festival icon into the church
So we had playing recorders and drums creating a marvelous atmosphere
We were able to look around church as the people took the procession outside to a tumult of music
The church itself was full of icons used in religious festivals which I have never seen so close up before
So if you are in Cadiz I recommend you visit this church first as it's full of history and so beautiful
And it's free to get in

Laura Black — Google review
Puerto Santa Maria is spoiled for choice when it comes to beaches - there's a beach to suit almost anyone's tastes - sport, sailing, beach clubs, wilderness, privacy, dog-walking....
Playa de la Muralla is one of my favourites. A picturesque crescent shaped beach of golden sand which is pleasantly sheltered from the Atlantic winds. It's also framed by the walls of the Santa Catalina castle at the western end.
From Puerto Santa Maria it's about a 45-60 minute walk along the coastal walking/cycling path which passes by Playa de la Puntilla and Puerto Sherry in addition to some shaded forest if you want to escape the sun. If you're driving there's plenty of parking.
On the eastern side there are several places to eat and get a drink and they all offer views overlooking the beach. It can get busy so if you want to snag the best spot you may want to reserve a table.

(Translated by Google) Small beach with a lot of charm. Its waters are calm and of pleasant temperature, and its sand, fine and golden; and it is quite sheltered from the east wind. There are services and plenty of parking right there, and a restaurant almost on the beach.

Nice, locally popular beach. Reef in front protects it from waves, so good for small children. Also protected from eastern winds. Southwestern winds can be quite strong though. Additionally, the park boasts an exhilarating gravity slide and an impressive crazy race course. With numerous attractions designed specifically for children, it ensures that there are plenty of options to cater to their interests.
Fun slide. The gravity slide is thrilling. The crazy race is fantastic. Lots of places for kids as there are more attractions for them. It was fairly busy with some queues but in the middle of the season it could have massive queues
Donagh Murphy — Google review
Very expensive and too many people.
In particular, 22 euro per person+4 for sun bed+ 4 for parking. If you want to eat inside everything cost 15 euro (1 hamburger and some fries). Ice cream 3,50 euro. It’s a totally rip off. If you want to do some attractions, unless you have the fast pass (+20 euro) you end up in at least 40 minutes queue. COVID protocol not respected. Suggestion, go to the beach and save time and money, I thought it was nice to take kids there, but wasn’t.
T V — Google review
Long wait for the slides. Good day out but get a fast pass if you have limited time there.
katharine tynan — Google review
Unbelievably overpriced and poorly maintained. You pay a ridiculous €26 to enter, €5 to park a car, then €5 for a seat then €5 for a locker and if you don't want the slow lane, it's another €15 for a 'fast pass'. If you don't buy a fast pass you're stuck in queues all day, burning your feet on the scorching concrete and frying your skin under the sun (only the fast lane has shade for those waiting). And then everything you come across is just old, poorly maintained and beyond disappointing. And don't even think about buying food there... outrageously abusive prices. Few staff, rubbish everywhere.... Honestly spend your money elsewhere.
Catacaus Spain — Google review
Nice place on the surface but lots of slides not working. As they are only open half the year, you'd expect most things to be well maintained. The fast past system is a terrible idea, why not just charge everyone a small faction more and not have a two tiered queuing system? Be prepared to wait for up to an hour for some slides if you don't have a fast pass. Food and ice-cream very over priced for what there is, but you can bring your own so just come prepared.

It is certainly a place to visit. I have not given it five stars because I lacked information and explanations, in the sense that even what I read about this basilica, it should have some type of information, at the entrance, when you take the ticket, which by the way, they tell you that the will and they tell you so many... euros, that is not the will, but a price.

Free in, lovely building. All the info is in Spanish. This is not a complaint just a warning if you don't speak Spanish. Would have give 5 ☆ if not for the pigeons.

Nobody explains anything to you, and it is within the Phoenician site, also underused with archaeological remains in very poor condition and little protection. It is a pity.

Es muy bonito este castillo pero ni se explica su origen y además no es visitable por dentro. Nadie te explica nada, y está dentro del yacimiento fenicio, igualmente infrautilizado con restos arqueológicos en muy mal estado y escasa protección. Es una pena.

I don't understand how, with the new animal law, access to tied and controlled dogs is not allowed in an open area belonging to the board. It is true that at the entrance to the enclosure a sign identifies that access to dogs is not allowed, but I believe that this requirement should be changed. There are people who cause more damage and make more messes than a tied dog.

XV as a preeminent watchtower over the bay and the lower course of the Guadalete River. What we currently see is the result of a reconstruction carried out in the second half of the 20th century. XIX since the tower was very demolished after the War of Independence from Spain. A modern historiographic interpretation identified this Tower as the place where Doña Blanca de Borbón suffered imprisonment and death (1361), wife of Pedro I, hence the name by which we know it today. Other scholars identify the building as a hermitage.

Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Jerez de la Frontera
The Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Jerez de la Frontera is a museum that specializes in archeology. It has some incredibly rare artefacts from the Roman period and the Corinthian helmet is one of them. The museum is open every first Sunday of the month for free!
Very small [with nothing spectacular], but very well organized and kept. It shows love for the past. It is worth a visit.

This is a nice newly laid out museum. And why there is short audio guide in several languages available and about three videos that you can watch in Spanish or English. They missed out on making the descriptions generally bilingual. This would have been a small effort in comparison and a great step forward. The exhibits contain not many outstanding finds. The most unusual are the prehistoric idols.
Caspar Dechmann — Google review
The museum is well laid out, you're directed by signage. I don't know if there was an English language audio guide, but I had fun reading the Spanish and trying to figure it out. It's a beautiful location, outside the central places. And the senior discount can't be beat - Eu 1.8!

The Archaeological Museum at Jerez de la Frontera has recently been refurbished and renovated and in quality and type of display now rivals any provincial museum in Andalucia. There is only one drawback, most of the information is in Spanish although free audio handsets are available in a number of languages. The building that houses the museum the Old City Hall in Plaza del Mercado, was itself declared a building of Cultural Interest in 1962. The displays take you from deep prehistory through to the modern age.

Absolutely fabulous museum. Gorgeous building, wonderful curation, great audio visual presentations and nice staff Although most text is in Spanish, there is an English brochure and most displays are self explanatory. Very glad to have visited this gem in Jerez. Nice way to spend an educated hour or two.

Such a hidden gem. It’s a must go! So well laid out. Interesting Audio visual films on each floor in English. Superb way to see Jerez come to life before your very eyes: from Neolithic times to 21st century. Museum is in beautiful building, exhibition is very well curated with superb journey management to create an experience of Jerez through time across the levels. Highly recommend.

Not far from the cathedral beyond the Domeq bodegas you'll find a square with small statues of Cervantes and Shakespeare. Behind this is the museum. Entrance for eu citizens is very cheap. Less than 2€. The building is air conditioned, has 3 floors of exhibits. Included is an audio tour. The in-room videos play in Spanish or English. We spent over 2 hours here. A hidden gem. There's also a small collections of coins through the ages. It's a good place to start your visit to Jerez as it describes how it is laid out, the Alcázar, the walls and churches. During an extension to the museum they found more archeology. A small area of the dig is on view.
