(Translated by Google) The Sanctuary of the Ss. Annunziata, in Via Annunziata, 21, was founded in 1320, outside the city walls of Gaeta, due to the greater fortification of the city it was largely demolished and was then rebuilt mainly with baroque decorations.
The façade has a double order, on the first there is a beautiful wooden portal, surmounted by a front inside which there is a high relief representing an angel with spread wings.
The interior has a single rectangular plan, in the apse there is a valuable work from the 1500s composed of six large paintings, on the side walls there are two large canvases: the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple and the Adoration of the Magi (1720 ).
On the left side of the building, there is an ancient Gothic portal. It is part of the original church (one of the rare things left above the architrave is an inscription which among other things indicates the year in which the church was founded (1321), and in the pediment there is a fresco depicting the Annunciation , unfortunately quite ruined.
