St Boris and Gleb Church of Kalozha is an iconic place of worship in the Eastern Orthodox tradition, originally constructed during the 13th century. The church features unique walls adorned with ceramic decorations. Located just a short distance from the city center, this beautiful church is situated in a lovely park setting. Visitors can enjoy its historical significance and admire its original design thanks to careful preservation efforts.
Words can't express what I felt staring at this ancient astonishing church! I believe the renovation was done at its finest to recreate as closely as possible the building's original look.

In 2018 I would almost go to this church every day for the 6 months I lived there. I never felt more comfortable with Father Ighor. I absolutely miss my church, I pray that it continues to stand strong and all of the nuns are healthy.

Historic place.
Borisoglebsk Church, Kolozhskaya Church or simply Kolozha is one of the surviving architectural structures of Belarus from the period of Old Russia. The only surviving (in distorted form) monument of black Russian architecture. Located on the high bank of the Neman River. Together with the complex of monuments of Zamkovaya Gora it is declared a historical and architectural reserve. Included among the sites proposed by the Government of Belarus as candidates for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List

Park Zhilibera, located in the heart of Grodno, is a serene and central park featuring the significant Soviet War memorial. It's a popular venue for fun fairs and markets, offering a tranquil setting by the river. The park boasts several cafes and cozy bars with beer gardens, making it an ideal place to spend quality time with family and friends. While some visitors feel that more trees and bushes would enhance its appeal, others appreciate its peaceful ambiance and variety of entertainment options.
Nice place in the center of Grodno. Very serene and relaxing, albeit not too large.

Grodno’s most visited park, crowded during holidays and workdays afternoon. To my mind the park would be better with more trees and bushes

This place is good and open. It doesn't have regulations or and fees to pay. This is not a big place and there are not much things to watch. But if you want to be relaxed and peaceful times this is the place. I have only been here on the winter season so I don't know much about summer or spring season times yet.

It was under construction along with the nearby lighthouse . That took away some of the sheen . Hope is gets fixed soon

(Translated by Google) The restored synagogue has a calm (even modest, but very stylish appearance from the outside, compared to buildings of other denominations in Grodno), but inside it amazes with its volume and purity of solid white color. We were very pleased with our visit! I recommend. P.S. 4 stars only because the synagogue in Kaliningrad has a canteen with kosher food for everyone, but not yet in Grodno. So citizens, philanthropists, please think about this. :))

The Ažeška House-museum is a replica of the home where writer Eliza Ozheshko lived during her final 16 years. The museum is dedicated to preserving the memory of this prominent figure in literature, and visitors can explore the various rooms and exhibits that showcase her life and work. The museum's design faithfully recreates the original layout, with period furnishings adding to its authenticity.

It was built in the pseudo-Russian style in memory of the soldiers and officers of the 26th Artillery Brigade who died during the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905.
From an artistic point of view, the temple is distinguished by the design of entrance portals and windows and some elements of external decoration, which achieved a certain conformity of style.

The Old Castle, also known as Hrodno, is a majestic riverside fortress from the 1850s that now serves as a museum showcasing local historical artifacts. Adjacent to the New Castle, it offers stunning views of the river and hosts ice hockey matches and music concerts. Despite its significance to Lithuania's history, some parts of the castle have been undergoing refurbishment, including renovations to improve infrastructure.
A well and lovely museum of the history of Grodna and also of the flora and fauna around the city. Everyone who is interested in Grodna should look in.

The Old Castle in Grodno or Hrodno as it is known locally looks very interesting and has a great view over the river. Unfortunately the castle was closed when we visited and it looks like there is some building work going on so perhaps it is being refurbished.
I would like to go back and visit sometime and have a proper look around.
The Old Castle is next door to the New Castle which looks more like a stately home or similar then a castle.
Phillip Wingfield — Google review
The castle is well preserved, old an important to Lithuania. But the museum is terrible, both infrastructure and the whole second floor, talking about the 'great history of Communism'.

The castle is pretty good itself. There are a lot of beautiful views here to the city, to the river and parks.
Very rear you can see some performance here (actually never saw myself).
The museum inside is not so good and not about the castle in general. You can find here just common exhibition about different history and archeology periods and some material about Belarus, USSR times also.

I think my favorite part was the collections of butterflies and other stuffed animals. My kids loved it too. There is an extensive book collection, which I loved and fellow bibliophiles will find interesting. In Belarus, it is very common to keep all lights off in the rooms until you go into them. So if it isn't busy there will be people following you around (especially if you have kids haha) to turn lights on and to make sure you don't mess with anything. That might seem strange to foreigners, but we've gotten used to it. One of these ladies stayed with us throughout the last floor carrying my youngest and explaining things to him. So friendly and kind.

It would be a very interesting place to visit but as it continues to be under renovation at this time, the impressions are not the best. So, please keep in mind the two stars reflect only the current experience not the potential of the castle.

I am not writing this to complain, my main goal is to inform other foreign students how to things work in Yanka Kupala, so they can survive the application period unlike me.
I've spent 2 interesting weeks in beautiful Grodno trying to apply for a masters degree in Yanka Kupala university.
I'll start from the begining, when I asked for information and applied for an invitation letter, the head of the international students department was very polite and informing, I've received the letter soon (my name was missing on the envelope, 'first warning'...). When I arrived to Grodno they welcomed me well, I've given a place to stay in the dormitory also. But then....
Long days in the Belarusian hospitals and polyclinics started to prove that I am healthy (even though I've done the previosly asked analyzes in Turkey), this was very depressing, dirty and long, I am not talking about the disinfection process.
After 2 weeks long medical examination and 3 exams, as a masters degree student I've found myself as a bachelor degree student. The excuse of the head of the international students department was simple: 'our staff is working automatically and made a mistake, sorry'.
Actually the aproach of the all staff, from the beginning until the end was lacking of any kind of attention or basic sympathy to students (I am not an exception), 'some of them' were even 'rude' including the lady who was responsible of masters degree students.
So, be carefull! try to be more demanding and ask about everything until you get the right answers and true information. Grodno is beautiful, clean and historical city and Belarusians are in general kind and nice people, but not all of them...

(Translated by Google) I would be happy to leave a review for the university as an institution that provides useful knowledge, but we were interested in it solely because of the ivy that covers the entire wall) A very impressive look, reminiscent of English architectural motifs. We thought about how windows were “cut through” and came to the conclusion that most likely from the outside, they ordered a tower and cut them out). We will also visit this place in autumn, when the leaves turn red. Opposite across the road is the museum named after. E. Ozheshko
