The Santuario di Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae is an 18th-century stone church located on a hill overlooking the town and harbor, replacing an ancient temple. The area offers both tranquility and spiritual calm, with easy access for all visitors, including those with mobility issues. There is ample car parking space available, and small vendors sell reasonably priced goods. Additionally, there is a busy café offering delicious pasties and snacks.

This Basilica, named "The End of Land" is built at the southernmost tip of the Italian heel, at a place where the Adriatic meets the Ionian sea.
The 18c Church with adjacent Monastery is on top of a hill above the town, imo a very average one, both outside and inside. Many souvenir stalls around further ruin the feeling, making it a very touristy place.
From the Church terrace is really a great seas view, but that's it - a max 45 min visit including the time for finding parking which is really an issue in August peak season

Busy but still a sense of tranquility and spiritual calm. Easy to access all area even for the less able bodied. Massive car parking space . Small stall holders selling a wide variety of goods at fairly reasonable prices . Small but busy cafe selling a good selection of pasties and snacks busy but worthwhile. Take your time to unwind here and treat it all as a bit of a pilgrimage at the joining of the two seas?

The bottom of so called "italian shoe". Always wanted to visit it. Nice, touristical city, but not very crowdy though. Near the lighthouse is place for suvenirs, they are quiet expensive, magnet costs 2 euro. Can make nice pictures of it. I liked. There is great place to park a car, in a city seems is even place where you can rent an ebike. So, yes, must enjoy it!

Wirklich keine besondere Kirche, aber durchaus ein besonderer Platz zwischen Kirche und Leuchtturm, der mit Blicken über das Meer und diesen religiös aufgeladenen Ort schon eine besondere Stimmung zu verbreiten weiß.

Punta Ristola Leuca is a stunning location situated at the southernmost point of Italy's "heel." It boasts an impressive rocky outcrop and seafront lookout, as well as sculptures and caves. This picturesque spot offers breathtaking views of the Ionian and Adriatic seas with their beautiful colors. Locals recommend visiting early in the morning to witness the meeting of both seas. The area is known for being energizing, and slippers are not recommended due to its rugged terrain.
Nice place and view. Locals say that one should go at 7 in the morning to see how the Ionian meets the Adriatic. Didn.t manage to make it that early but enjoyed it as well!!

Punta Ristola is a stunning scenic outlook located on the very tip of Italy's heel in the Puglia region. Perched high atop rocky cliffs overlooking the crystal blue waters where the Ionian and Adriatic Seas meet, the views from Punta Ristola are breathtaking.
As you walk along the cliffs and grassy landscape, you're surrounded by the sound of waves crashing against the rocks below and seaside breezes that perfectly complement the Mediterranean sunshine. The water ranges from azure to deep sapphire and is so clear you can see to the sandy bottom below.
The outlook points also provide panoramic views of Leuca, known as the “Cape of Otranto.” You can admire the picturesque port town from above, with its contrasting white buildings, ancient castle, and hillside homes dotted with olive groves.
There are a few benches perfect for sitting and soaking in the idyllic scenery. The rugged natural splendor and seaside tranquility make Punta Ristola a must-visit lookout point for any traveler in Puglia wanting to experience the region’s breathtaking beauty. It’s one of those places where you can lose yourself in the moment and feel renewed admiration for the wonders of nature.

My pasta cold and you could count the number of pieces in the plate and very little taste. The waitress very friendly they deducted the octopus from the bill. Overall I would not go again. 2 hours later my wife and myself having diarrhea spending the night at the toilet… you really made my day…

As we approached the restaurant, I thought we might have a nice evening, however the atrocious service and rude manager has made it certain that I shall never return. After asking for the drink menu three times, and stating, 4 times, we only wanted to order some drinks, the manager charged towards us like a angry rhinoceros and demanded we order food immediately, as “they are, a RESTAURANT”. As we made for an escape, shocked we paid for our water, which they attempted to charge us for double, and I was scoffed at on the way out, leaving my family shocked at their disdain. STAY AWAY. If i could give 0 stars, I would.

Spectacular day on the Leuca' beaches...go to Lido Azzurro
In the famous Santa Maria di Leuca, the extreme edge of Puglia and in particular of Salento, there are still works dating back to the fascist period such as the monumental waterfall at Santa Maria di Leuca.
This is the case of the monumental waterfall, an imposing work, finished in 1939; which boasts a length of over 250 meters and a vertical drop of about 120 meters, with a flow rate of 1,000 liters per second that ends directly in the sea.
The waterfall represents the last term of an even more sumptuous work, that is that of the Apulian Aqueduct; the greatest infrastructure of water-drinking supply to European level, constructed during the first decades of the twentieth century; consisting of a series of ‘trunks’ thus allowing water supply to over 300 municipalities.
Santa Maria di Leuca
Perfectly set between the rock and the Mediterranean maquis, its staircase ends with the Roman column, installed by Benito Mussolini.
Narrow between two wide flights of stairs that with their 300 steps allow visitors to admire the top; the work is lit only in particular periods that are concentrated especially in the hottest months of the year.

We really enjoyed our trip where we saw stunning caves and swim in a crystal blue sea. Skipper offered to us Prosecco and local Puglia snacks that we enjoyed as well as great music. Atmosphere on the boat was relaxed and enjoyable. At the end we experienced an amazing sunset on the open sea. In addition to the many sandy beaches in the surrounding area of Leuca, there are numerous hidden caves among the rocky sections of the coastline, such as Grotta Porcinara and Grotta dei Diavolo. Relax Leuca is a charming restaurant located in Puglia, offering good quality typical dishes. What sets this place apart is the exceptional service provided by the friendly staff. Guests are welcomed with prosecco and given the freedom to choose their own table. The atmosphere is emphasized as crucial, where everyone should arrive and leave with a smile. While some waiters may lack experience due to their young age, the overall dining experience exceeds expectations.

Ristorante/ Purtroppo pessima esperienza.
Based on the reviews we expected better, maybe too much. In the octopus salad, the octopus was half cooked, wasn't washed properly (sand), and not cut properly since we found the beak. The Tataki Tuna was just salt.
On the plus side, the Agrodolce salad was really good. Prices were reasonable.

The Church of Saint Michael Archangel is a historical and inviting place of worship that has been well-maintained. It exudes an atmosphere of warmth and welcomes both locals and visitors alike. The Mass, officiated by Father Fabrizio, a devoted follower of Christ, is known for his remarkable sermons that captivate the congregation's attention. The church itself radiates simplicity while being efficiently organized to ensure compliance with the necessary COVID-19 protocols.

La chiesa ha il suo fascino, peccato per l'infiltrazione dalla copertura di protezione alla struttura che ormai va avanti da qualche anno e peggiora sempre di più.
