The Museum Burg Linn is a historic castle built in the 12th century, situated alongside an archaeological museum and hunting lodge. A visit to this impressive structure comes at a small fee, which is discounted for students and children. Once inside, you can explore the castle's rich history through its collection of local antiques and informative guides. The tower climb offers picturesque views of the surrounding town. The museum boasts an excellent collection, including a textile exhibit (which may not always be open).
Was there with my kid, nice place. Kids can visot free of cost. Also, as a student I paid 3 euros for combi ticket whcih was valid for everything. The collection in the museum is good. Unfortunately, at that day textile museum was closed.

Linn Castle is a moated castle in the Linn district of Krefeld , North Rhine-Westphalia . It is located around five kilometers east of the city center.I really enjoyed visiting this place… so calm area and one thing I must say that the people who are working here so friendly and nice and I would recommend this place to those who visit Krefeld!!!Considering that I am an Indian I love European castles 🏰

A quick “trip” to past in a fantastic way! Such a surprise indeed, as I didn’t expect for a small “town” like this to be so rich in museum items, various places (Museum building, Castle, Landlord House , and houses inside Town walls… amazing). It was like a walk trough a past!

Be sure to take the time and take a look at this place.I am very impressed and surprised. I got a lot of impressions from visiting this complex, which
It includes a four-storey museum, where there are rich expositions of early Celtic history, the Roman era, ancient Germanic history, the era of the Napoleonic invasion and expositions of the bourgeois industrial Revolution. In addition, a well-preserved castle of the 12th century with many exhibits. And a hunting lodge, which makes it possible to visually see the situation, utensils, household items of various years. And even in the yard there is an antique sleigh and a fire pump. I want to visit this place again.
I want to thank those people who have invested so much work and care to preserve and bring this to us, who continue to take care of this place. It is really a very rich museum, although it is located in Krefeld, but we came there by bike from Dusseldorf. A full inspection cost us 7 euros per adult.

Awesome place to visit while you're in the neighborhood. There is a small fee for entry (students and children get a discount) but once inside you get to experience this old castle in all its glory. The outside is an impressive view and you can climb the tower for a great overlook of the town.
Inside the castle you'll find all sorts of local antiques and there are guides who can tell you more about the rich history of this building and the surrounding areas.

Krefeld Zoo is a relatively small yet well-maintained establishment that features various mammal enclosures, a primate house, a domed rainforest habitat and a colorful tropical aviary. This venue offers visitors the opportunity to take a break from their daily routine by taking them through four different climate zones during their 3-4 hour visit. The admission fee of 13.5 per adult is reasonable given the quality of the experience provided at Krefeld Zoo.

Krefeld Zoo offers a nice experience with well-kept animals in a well-maintained environment. The diverse range of animals and their spacious enclosures contribute to a positive visit. However, it would be beneficial for the zoo to clearly communicate that the additional charge of 1 euro per person as a gift for the animals is optional, allowing visitors to make an informed choice.

I like this place, because this zoo is not too large and rarely overcrowded. Every visit is a 3 to 4 hours trip over 4 different climate zones, giving you a chance to escape from your daily routine. €13.50 for a grown up visitor is a reasonable price and definitely worth it.

(Translated by Google) One of the most beautiful historical bridges (Zügelgurtlbrücke), which still crosses the Rhine today. Completed in 1936, it replaced the previous ferry service between Krefeld and DU-Mündelheim.
During the foundation work on the pillars, a 27-million-year-old fossilized ancient whale skull was found, which can now be seen in the Ruhr Museum in Essen.
On March 4, 1945, Wehrmacht troops blew up the river bridge as Allied troops advanced toward the Rhine as part of Operation Grenade.
There were very tough fights over the bridge beforehand, during which Uerdingen's old town was particularly affected.
After more than a hundred years in operation, the Rhine bridge in Krefeld-Uerdingen must be replaced by a new structure in the early 2030s.
The material samples showed that the steel used during the construction of the bridge was of lower quality than expected. Compensation measures will therefore be taken in spring 2023 to relieve the strain on the stressed bridge until the new building is finally built.
GÜNTHER NETZER, called the “King of Bökelberg” at the time, arrived at the structure early, before the traffic started moving... (Photo: Manfred Babucke).

HOUSE OF SILK CULTURE earlier parament weaving H. Gotzes
The local history museum, HOUSE OF SILK CULTURE, is set to hold its year-end party on December 10th, 2022 with the entire team. It's truly captivating to witness Mr. Brenner enthusiastically sharing stories and anecdotes, engaging guests with genuine joy and passion. The team deserves commendation for their outstanding work. They have created an atmosphere of absolute authenticity that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.
(Translated by Google) Nice little museum. Recommend a guided tour, only then can you really immerse yourself in the history of the house and the weaving mill. We were lucky that a group had registered during our visit this afternoon that we could join for €4 per person - it was really worth the money. It's amazing how much work weaving used to be! Everything was explained very nicely and a short film was shown before we could look at the old looms and were shown the technology of the looms and the work on them by a weaver on site. A lot of new knowledge acquired about our "city of velvet and silk".
Oh yes - there is also the smallest working loom there, entered in the Guinness Book of Records! 🙂
Currently (until November) an exhibition on beadwork on the ground floor.

Hülser Berg, a charming retreat just beyond Krefeld, offers delightful and uncomplicated treks amidst the captivating landscapes of the lower Rhineland. The trails are impeccably kept, providing an enjoyable walking experience through this idyllic setting. Additionally, there are dedicated routes for horseback riding enthusiasts to explore. An added attraction is the opportunity to observe enclosed areas showcasing wild boars and deer.
A very pleasant walk around the unusual forest full of very old trees. I recommend seeing the animals and climbing the tower.

(Translated by Google) Nice area to walk and relax, e.g. on one of the numerous benches. 🌿🌳 Children also have fun. A playground and the game reserves are probably the special attractions. Since the forest paths are mostly well maintained, it is also easy to navigate with a stroller or walker. However, our mouse didn't dare go up the observation tower. 🤗

Nice place and friendly service

Very rude service staff. Very disappointed. The male staff at the cash register wanted to hide the rest of money for payment, but was discovered. . . A long-haired German female staff in 1G was extremely rude and unfriendly to my child. She yelled at the child that he was not allowed to touch the wall with his hand. Why is she yelling like this? Can't she just tell him friendly? He’s just a kid, and this is just a wall! I have been to many internationally famous museums, and this is the the worst!

Very disappointing as I live in Krefeld and try to show my visiting family from England a great museum. Only one floor was open , but they still charged the full entrance fee. All bags had to be locked away even though there was nothing exhibited that possibly could have fitted into any of them. Exhibits were sparse and mostly boring. Staff were over zealous about getting near an item. I much prefer UK museums that are free for everyone to enjoy. And full to the rafters with interesting items.

(Translated by Google) Definitely still has potential for improvement. Maybe one day a cozy restaurant will open. The place is a good choice.
This will certainly be just as successful as with the wholesale store.
There is also enough parking space.

I went, with my GF, to "Café Vokal" - a sort of group karaoke with singer and pianist. It was moderately enjoyable - I always lose my voice when I sing! But if one likes that kind of thing, this would be for you .
