I have enjoyed this park for a very long time.
The cafe has adapted so that it is much easier to order food without having to queue where people are sitting to eat.... in fact I wasn't sure if they still had an indoor eating area?
It was a glorious spring day and there are plenty of benches and lots of room for picnic rugs on the grass.
My friend and I were visiting to walk our dogs and whilstbit was very conjested near the car park once we git further away we were happy to let our well behaved dogs off to Sniff and explore.
There is a really popular children's secure park with a wide range if equipment that would keep younger children very happily playing for a long time.
There are plenty of gravelled surface paths which making walking here in the winter less muddy but whilst they are fine but pushchairs the hilly terrain and rough gravel would make it very challenging for wheel chairs so I wouldn't recommend try to go for a walk if you had to push a wheelchair and self propelling would be hard even for an athlete!
The public toilet block is small for the visitor numbers but it was clean.
There is plentiful parking on grass so you could picnic next to your car if you wished.
There is something for everyone here.

A great place for whole family. The park is a perfect size, not too big-not too small. A great play area for kids, cafe, toilets, benches and even museum and a shop. Parking is free and cafe not overpriced.
What's not to like!

Such a lovely place to visit. It is such a large area that it doesn't feel overcrowded, you should find a peaceful spot easily. You can picnic or eat at the affordable cafe on site. There is a lovely playground, gorgeous walking trails, free parking and entry and amazing views.
There is something for every family member and I highly recommend a visit here.

This always was a lovely place to visit especially for the Corby residents but now it has an upgraded cafe with extremely easy access. The food is superb and reasonably priced. My favourites are the vegan pasties and vegan sausage rolls. Thanks to the hard work of the Corby Borough Councillor (2011 - 2015) the park enjoys free parking with disabled bays.

Lovely well looked after park lots to do for all ages and abilities. It’s a shame that such a gorgeous building hasn’t been brought back to its former glory
Kirby Hall is a historical landmark in Bedfordshire, England. The hall is now home to the Kirby Hall Museum. It has tours of elaborate state rooms and formal gardens.
What a beautiful hidden gem of a place, great if you are a fan of not just history but the Tudor period also. While a lot of it is ruins, there are still some areas that have been well preserved. Lots of interesting information boards plus you can get the audio tour. It is an English heritage site so members can enter free with a card. The prices in general though are very good.
There are toilets on site and a little area for taking a picnic. Added bonus are the peacocks wandering around. There is a little gift shop on entry for getting into the grounds. Parking is available, a small car park is about a 5 minute walk. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, highly recommended a visit.

Lovely building even though parts are in a ruin state you can see how magnificent it must have been. Some rooms have survived & gives you an indication as to what it must have looked like.Beautiful gardens also. A pleasant couple of hours spent here. Doesn't seem a problem to bring a picnic & sit of lawned area to side of gardens. There are some additional benches set off to one side near the entrance.

Lovely day out! The children loved soaking up the history and exploring the gardens. We even saw some peacocks.

Great place to look round with friendly staff. You get a device to scan various points on boards around the house/ ruins and gardens as well as extras to press A B or C on and tell the story of the place and it’s occupants over the years gone by. Very informative! I love anything to do with history and old buildings so found it fascinating! Definitely worth a visit!
Emma Catchpole — Google review
Such a great place to while away a few hours. You can wander the grounds and beautifully manicured gardens, as well as learning about the history of the estate throughout the centuries.
There is an optional audio guide available at the help centre, but we just read the information stands. These were educational but interesting too, covering everything from the owners, to the decor and even the fashions of each era.
Oh and there are peacocks!
Laura C — Google review
From the car park you walk along an avenue of chestnut trees to reach the entrance building. This is big building in various stages of preservation. The audio guide gives plenty of detail allows you to explore at your own pace. After our tour we bought ice cream and sat watching the peacocks.

What an extraordinary place this is.
We were astonished at how magical it really was. Despite it being devoid of furniture, paintings, even floors in most of the building, there was something beautifully melancholic and special about this location.
The free audio guide was extremely helpful to offer a broader colourful picture to some of the empty spaces.
Definitely worth a visit. Spent two hours here. Free parking too.

Absolutely brilliant!! The place was empty when we went because it was raining the whole day. Beautiful mansion, it's all renovated inside to keep it intact but you can still see the original stonework in some places. The garden is simple but beautiful, lovely flowers here and there (in summertime, not expecting too many flowers). A gift shop with a fair range and very lovely and knowledgeable staff!!! Picnic benches and portaloos, everything you need. Had a great day out, would definitely recommend!!

Although mostly walls without roofs, a section of the hall has been restored to give a feel of what it may have looked like when it was up and running.
Plenty of information boards to explain about certain aspects of the hall. The garden has been well looked after and the grounds maintained, ideal for walking around or just sitting in the sun.
Fully recommend a visit to this unique hall.

We stopped at Kirby Hall, Corby.
It’s a beautiful hall to visit and the gardens.
You can wander around the rooms of the hall and read all the history of the building.
Lots peacocks to view, they are very friendly and tame.
Friendly staff on arrival.
Lovely little gift shop.
There were porter toilets available that were clean and easy to find.
I would visit again and recommend to friends and family.

One of the better English heritage sites. I really enjoyed visiting Kirby Hall today. The hall is still very well preserved and fascinating to walk around. Appropriate history information displayed around the hall, and lots of little hidden corners and staircases. We bought a picnic as there is no cafe on site, only a small gift shop at the entrance, there are porta loos which are well looked after, and the highlight of the day was the peacocks and peahens. Absolutely stunning birds, friendly and happy to come and investigate our lunch and then the two male peacocks took it in turns to show off their feathers. Definitely coming back as local to this E.H site. 🦚

Deene Park is a stunning country manor and estate that is steeped in history. It boasts beautiful formal gardens and an elegant tea room, making it the perfect destination for those who enjoy both history and natural beauty. The house itself is open to visitors, with knowledgeable family members on hand to share the rich history of the area. The grounds offer ample opportunity for peaceful walks through unspoilt nature, while seasonal events like Easter egg hunts add an extra touch of magic.
Deene Park is beautiful. I am grateful for the fact that not only was the house open, but the family were amongst the people taking the time to let you know the history of the house and surrounding areas.
The food might have been a bit expensive, but the house and grounds made up for it.
Great for a day out if you enjoy a bit of history and gardens.

We really loved our visit to Deene Park to see the Snowdrops. But there was so much more: the perfect parterre, early hellebores, crocus, the beautiful bare bones of the big old trees in the grounds and of course the architecture of the house itself. The catering in the gravel courtyard was of a very high standard and at a reasonable price.
Thank you for a lovely day out.

We had our wedding reception at Deene Park in May and what an amazing day it was. The whole experience from start to finish was incredible with Georgina and her team making the journey feel super easy and well taken care of. Georgina’s enthusiasm and ability to put you at ease was really wonderful and we can’t thank her enough for everything she did, nothing was too much trouble and she was more than happy to help with anything we needed. We have some amazing memories and wish we could do it all again. We highly recommend!

My fiancé and I visited Deene Park on a weekend away in the Northamptonshire area. We were not disappointed in any way. Arrived and after checking in we had a picnic before exploring. The gardens are fabulous, the setting with the water framing the property was perfect. We both fully enjoyed our visit inside the house and obtained many many facts from the very friendly and knowledgeable guides, all finished off with a trip to the tearoom and drinks alfresco.
We both had a delightful afternoon with every effort from the staff, was especially grateful for the guidebook given to us as I was told ‘ we feel guilty that you are not yet allowed to visit the upstairs of the property’. Well that’s a good enough excuse to have to re-visit again sometime.
Thanks for a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon.

What a fantastic experience, the grounds so well maintained, the house absolutely fascinating and cosy, one visit is not enough! The guides in each room were very well informed, most friendly and helpful. Meeting Charlotte Brudenell was a special treat. The coffee and cake was good too! it won't be long before we return!

Attended the Snowdrop Walk and was amazed at the vast numbers of snowdrops everywhere. Beautiful sunny day too! Loved the cultivated snowdrops with their names. A wonderful afternoon.
Boating on the beautiful, clear waters of Lake Boating is a perfect way to spend a summer day. The lake is especially popular with families who enjoy sailing, kayaking, and fishing. There are plenty of places to dock and enjoy the wildlife that calls the lake home.
Beautiful lake, just a few minutes walk from town centre. Its apt for a short walk/dog walk and wheelchair accessible throughout the perimeter. There is a children park, lakeside cafe, and pakring is free. Found popular for fishing during summer. Children will love it. If you plan to visit, take some grains for duck/pegion feeding.

It's a lovely to walk around the boating lake . The cafe's lovely and the breakfast in there is really good and good value. Good customer service on every visit.
Parking is a nightmare as some people park here to walk into town, which takes up valuable spaces for visitors to the cafe and lake as not enough parking. Could do with more disabled parking as makes it difficult when bringing the person I support, out to the cafe, who has mobility issues.

The Corby International Pool offers a variety of amenities, including a fun pool with exciting features such as a pirate ship, Aquatube body ride, and diving boards. The swimming facility also provides lessons for children at different stages taught by experienced instructors like Karen. However, the maintenance of the facility could have been improved as only one out of nine hair dryers were working during one visit.
Had a wonderful time with my son, it was clean, the staff were friendly and the facilities were good. We visited during the Easter school break so it was very busy but we still got a fair few lengths in and he had great fun on the water slide, which he used at least 10 times during the hours we were there. My only "grumble" is the locker system should have instructions, though we worked it out pretty quickly and then helped a few others

Fantastic pool and gym facility right in the centre of town. My daughter loves her swimming lessons and we often enjoy leisure swims for a very reasonable price. Only thing that lets it down are the often slow moving queues at the door and the sometimes less than speedy service in the cafe area.
Jonathan Sheldon — Google review
Great place, my children love their swimming lessons. However the facility maintenance could have been managed in better way - out of 9 hair dryers only 1 was working. Last week was better with 2 working.

It's a nice pool but very basic. Not a lot of space as always have lessons and lanes so jot huge space for the children. Booking system really poor. We do use often for kids and is nice staff friendly but there are more enjoyable pools about.
liam allen — Google review
I am beyond sick and tired of the swimming pool being cold, it's not a comfortable temperature at all, and when swimming, I feel cold; if you look into the reviews on google maps, you'll be able to see that I am not the only one who feels this way, that along with not being able to swim in a straight line. Instead, even though I know I am a slow swimmer, I can't swim in the slow lane because of the children and teenagers taking over that space diving and cannon-bombing. At the same time, the lifeguards are too focused on trying to mock sign language by gesturing to each other, which is just offensive, especially to deaf people like me. I cannot just decide I want to go for a swim. Instead, I do need to make a reservation which is fine because then it means I would be able to have at least space to swim, but rather, what tends to happen is I'll reserve the health suite so I can get changed and then after swimming in the cold pool I can then jump into the very lukewarm jacuzzi that is very high with chemicals and causes discomfort to my eyes. I have also to use the health suite carefully because a few customers like to add their menthol chemicals which the staff hasn't checked and add an unknown amount of it, and it's so uncomfortable I can't even use this unless it's early in the morning or very late in the evening which is an inconvenience to me. The health suite reservation times are inconvenient too because if I reserve it for the health suite wrongly think I can use the pool during that time. Still, I have to waste half an hour waiting for the countless swimming lessons in all four swimming pools or if the gala competitions are happening. Either way, the pool is unusable regardless of what I do, and the health suite shouldn't be called a health suite as the facilities are inadequate.
There is also the gym which is equally as disappointing; I have found that due to the teenager sessions, which were meant to be supervised, really are not, instead what happens is you'll have a lot of them taking over machines or taking over valuable space in the core workout areas and on their phones or trying to chat to one another leaving full paying members such as myself to wait until they were done before being able to use the machines. The staff are not supervising the teenagers and often chat with other teams behind the desk. I've even had occasions where teenagers told me to move because they wanted to use the space even though I was there first. A lot of the machines as well are very outdated and do not offer the same features as modern exercise machines do, such as synching up with my smartwatch or being able to blow air into my face while I'm exercising; I am aware it's meant to be a feature but take a look at any of the treadmills or cardio machines and take a look at the vent that is intended to blow air, it's filled with dust and dead bugs which are not pleasant while working out.

The small kids pool is amazing, my little one loves it, and never wants to leave. The pool is always warm. I like the fact you have to book so it's not over crowded. Highly recommend

My kids are currently in the swimming lessons here. Their instructor, Karen, is amazing. She teaches my son who is in little ducklings and daughter, stage 1.
New update: kids have moved up. Son is in stage 1 and daughter stage 2. The moving up process was somewhat seamless but I did not get the preferred time and date for my son. I have been calling everyday at various hours and no one pick ups! There is no call back option or queue. They just hang up on you!
Dominique Saparia — Google review
We always go to Corby International Swimming pool as my son won't go anywhere else. I'm not great with the online booking system, so we always risk just turning up. A few times, they have been fully booked for that time, but have booked us in for the next session with no problem. If you can book online first, I would recommend it, though.
The sessions are an hour and a half, which is great, and there is half an hour between each session. There are 5 pools of varying depths and lengths and we have always found all staff (both on the front desk and lifeguards) helpful and friendly, even when it is really busy.
The car park is also very reasonably priced (£1 for up to 3 hours).

Over the last 6 months this facility has been getting worse and worse despite their prices going up. Good luck finding a locker that actually works, the toilets are disgusting and the changing rooms almost as bad.
This used to be a good facility but investment is needed and doesn’t seem to be coming from the price increases introduced last year.

Very good swimming pool with a lot of space. Good babs and toddler area. A lot of lockers and changing cabins. Health and spa suite is also good. I really enjoy visiting dry sauna. Cold and warm showers available. Everyone can get to Health and Spa suite with other door behind the cafeteria. Gym at the top floor is very well equipped. A lot of machines, weights and dumbbells. Power lifting area. A very large studio for classes. Everyone can use it outside the timetable. Price is very good comparing to other places.

I had not been to Corby Pool for 6 months or so but this experience was completely awful. I booked over the phone for the 20m pool to find it fully booked when I arrived. The changing rooms smelled strongly of pee and had food all over the floor, half the lockers weren't working. Worst of all were the scolding hot showers. I had a 3 and a 5 year old with me and it could have really hurt them. All down the line of showers kids were calling out in pain. It was too hot for an adult. I told the ladies at reception when I left and their response was, "Well nobody else has complained."

Been going here since 1997, corby swimming pool has changed loads, not always easy to navigate bookings on the website as it is not easy to always call, was a member during lockdown and left after being charged full rate membership with no use of the health studio. Also booked into diving a couple times paid and haven't been able to attend, also the council is horrible why pay to park a car at a facility your already paying to use. Staff very friendly and welcoming as always. I love corby diving boards 5m isn't enough for me anymore, would love to go hirer, and have lessons.

WOW, So impressed with Corby Pool !
I went last Thursday, just to look and a young lady took time out to show me the facilities. I used the pool today and everything exceeded my expectations. The premises were clean and tidy, the young lady on till 1 was lovely and so helpful, taking time to explain everything.
The pool was a delight to use; warm, spacious, clean and well maintained.
I came away really pleased and will certainly be returning.
Thankyou Corby staff. Gets a 10 from John!

Great club with friendly, helpful staff. The managers are lovely and often stop for a chat. Craig took time to step away from a job to show me a video of an example of great serve form as I said I was trying to improve my serve. The outdoor courts are nice, well maintained, good quality nets. As a member you can access the outdoor courts whatever time of day you want, even at 5am if you wanted to. The indoor courts are excellent. They give you such a true bounce that it feels almost impossible to miss the shot. They also have a ball machine you can use. Decent locker room with secure lockers and lovely showers. Patio area for spectators. There isn't much that could be improved. I would say that perhaps nets between the outdoor courts and a net above the hitting wall. I would say it would be great if the indoor courts were a little cheaper, but to be fair I can't imagine they're cheap to run, and they are high quality and well maintained. And anyway, the prices are hardly unreasonable. There is at least one place with indoor courts that are cheaper, but the courts are multi-use and have all sorts of confusing lines across them, with low quality strapless nets, and standard macadam surface. So at CTC you are paying for high quality. Anyway, I recommend the club for anyone. They have lessons and coaches for all abilities and also do event days.

Excellent to walk through and watch the birds and squirrels

Beautiful ancient woodland in the heart of Corby which was originally royal hunting grounds but now a coppiced deciduous woodland.

Wide range of public footpaths that link to areas including Studfall Shops, Boating Lake/Town Centre etc. Several acre's of woodland located within Corby town. Dog and wheelchair friendly.

A lovely wood popular with dogwalkers, though volunteers have their work cut out picking up litter
The Saxon Crown is a cozy hotel with 12 tastefully decorated rooms and an informal restaurant featuring a bar. The bar serves affordable drinks and has amiable staff. The accommodations are well-maintained, including the provision of tea, coffee, and ample towels in the bathrooms. Housekeeping goes beyond the call of duty to make stays comfortable. The dutiful manager deserves special mention for effectively managing room changes.
Accommodation was excellent. Clean and well cared for. Housekeeping went beyond what they needed to do to make sure our stay comfortable. 😊
The staff in the bar were helpful.
Enjoyed our visit, but special commendation to the duty manager that organised our change of room. 🌹

Overall, okay. My issue with all witherspoon is the atmosphere, or lack thereof, should I say. There is no music, which I think is a real dampener. The only reason there isn't any cause they don't want to pay for the rights to play it. I'm not asking for loud club music, just a bit of light background music, so it's not so awkward. I really think this would make a huge difference.
Just didn't feel welcoming. Drinks OK, inconsistencies with appearance. Some had ice, and some didn't. Food good, had a pizza and was really nice, actually.

Had really great short stay. The food was first class came to our table shortly after ordering. The staff very pleasant and helpful. The road outside a little noisy but not to bothersome.

Room was clean and comfy, breakfast was quickly served and great value for money. And staff went above and beyond to return a left item to me (I live in Birmingham!) without asking for any payment. One very grateful customer says thank you!

Always meets expectations. Great beer at any time of the day and food good enough. I was there for their best meal which is breakfast of course. BARGAIN

Stayed at the hotel for an event close by.
Very small reception and was crowded when we arrived. The rooms were ok (the room was not what I payed for on the website and the one we got was standard (complained, and was offered near enough the same room type!!)
We were in the back area, which smelled of "weed" constantly with people smoking next too the doors etc.
The service in the pub was OK, except our group was given wrong food, a garlic bread that would be classed as a deadly weapon in some countries as it was unbreakable. Glasses that was covered in lipstick or filthy multiple times, plus much more!!
Wetherspoons pubs are usually ok, but this was just dire on so many levels
The staff seem friendly though which was a plus.
No hotel parking available. You have to pay to park on a public shopping complex car park down the road. So remember to factor the price in.

Great rooms at a very reasonable price. Food is always excellent, well presented, hot and not thrown on the plate like some others. A gem of a Wetherspoons.

Exception service from receptionist helping us with parking. Went well beyond what I'd expect. Nice clean room, blackout curtains and quiet for a good night's sleep. Lovely breakfast with quick service. Next time in corby we will be back at the Saxon Crown

Good bar, cheap prices, clean and friendly staff. All you'd expect from a Wetherspoons. Was in the area for an event, so made use of the lodgings. Once again good and clean with the usual tea and coffee in the room, as well as plenty of towels in the bathroom. Would happily use again if I'm in the area.

Been here several times over the years
Food was fine service was way to slow considering how busy they were. Went Saturday 22/07/23, 1-3.30 got if pref by two girls on the bar despite me standing at an open till , they looked at me several times then looked away as I was a bit further down the bar. Two people in front of me got served then by the time 10 more people had been served I gave up. Drinks on the app took over half an hour and food was served before they came and had to chase them up. When the pint I ordered finally turned up miss attitude slammed it on the table. Nice. The only saving grace was when I nipped out and ordered a drink for the Mrs I sent it to the wrong table and they clocked . Otherwise this would have been a one star , spoilt what would have been a nice afternoon .

I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very nicely done; closer to Hilton than Premier Inn and there's a brilliant choice of cheap breakfasts. The room cleaning was very hit and miss, which was a shame.

We stayed just one night and we were very pleased with our room. Spacious, very clean, good facilities. Lovely ensuite bathroom, fabulous shower and bath, plenty of room. The bed, oh so comfy, ❤️
The staff on reception were so helpful. We did have a comment about our breakfast which wasn't up to standard Warm bread was served not toast, and there was confusion by the waiting staff. However, the duty manager was very apologetic, and dealt with the situation very effectively.

I was really impressed with our room at the Saxon crown. The room was very clean, of a large size and was very nicely decorated. Also a nice touch was that it featured lots of local imagery in the rooms including artwork about Corby done by the local school children. There were fresh clean towels, and the shower pressure was amazing. I would highly recommend if you need a room in Corby, plus you only have to go downstairs for a meal and a drink.

Nice enough pub in the center of Corby, ideal location if visiting the town center. Unfortunately the day we visited they had a flood which meant they had to close prematurely, but staff informed us of this after we had managed to order food and drink which were both great.Despite the chaos caused by the flood the staff were very efficient and they informed everyone about the situation
and on the fact that they were going to have to close early

Great prices and quite good customer service. Cleanliness and food quality are not the top mark but quite acceptable for this price range

I had an enjoyable lunch consisting of jacket spud with 5 bean chilli, sides of garden peas, and roasted vegetables. Service was pleasant during the afternoon.
On the evening, I had chicken wings that looked overcooked from the outside. However, the wings were NOT cooked inside. I covered them with sauce because I planned to complain.
The wings came back cooked but had traces of the sauces on. Clearly, the cook on Sunday, 7th Jan, did a very poor job.
I stayed overnight and enjoyed a very comfortable night stay in an executive room.
The following morning I had a good Scottish breakfast.
