The German Naval Signals HQ is an impressive museum that showcases the occupation's command and control strategies rather than just their arsenal of weapons. The museum is only open twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, with volunteers from the Occupation society staffing it. A visit to this museum is highly recommended as it offers a well-renovated example of how the command center operated during that time period. The reconstruction is outstanding, accompanied by informative displays and friendly staff, making for an interesting experience overall.
Really interesting museum, very friendly staff and great reconstruction with informative and interesting boards

Fantastic visit. It is a very interesting museum. Jack, the museum assistant, is very enthusiastic and shared lots of interesting stories with us. He went above and beyond and made our visit very memorable.

Open daily. Except on a Wednesday in November it seems. Probably closed for the season but why can't it say that on the website or the sign? I won't bother trying to visit again

It is possible to buy tickets to four attractions for £20,and this is one of them. The others are Fort Grey, Castle Cornet and the museum and art gallery at Candi Garden. The signal museum is interesting to visit and I learned a lot of history. From the air the site was almost invisible. The RAF photo's show the beginning of the project and Bletchley Park in the UK were decoding signals from here. The signals bunker controlled the defence of the island and was very important to it's defence.I was here in August 2022.Sorry about the quality of the photos. It was dark in some of the rooms.

Returned again to this 1st class restored Navel bunker...definitely worth a 2nd vist..or even my yearly vist to the Channel Islands so will place this on my to do list every year..Great staff Great bunker Think they should start a petition to access the other part of the bunker system....or possibly all 3 that would be superb..A complete complex....EXCELLENT

Excellent. Like travelling back in time 80 years. The most authentic WW2 experience in the Channel Islands

We had a brilliant time at this restored bunker. There are so many of them dotted around Guernsey that are in a state of disrepair and it seems a huge waste, so it was amazing to see one restored to what it looked like in the 40's.
We had the luck of getting a tour from the incredibly knowledgeable Tony from the Guernsey Occupation Society. I think it was one of the best tours we've ever been on and I'd definitely recommend it if you're in Guernsey.

We visited today, Jack was on hand to act as a tour guide, an absolute mind of information and bought the place to life. He was very engaging with many exhibits being hands on. A small museum but well worth a visit.

A well renovated example of the occupation showing the command & control rather than just guns. Only open a couple of days a week (Thursday's & Saturday's ) as staffed entirely by volunteers from the Occupation society. Well worth a visit

Small museum with small entry fee.
It is an interesting museum and has a video interview with the original commandant that gives a real feel for the bases operational history.
The young man running it on our visit was pleasant and knowledgable.
The Guernsey Tapestry Gallery, situated in the St James Concert and Assembly Hall, showcases a millennium of local history through ten intricately designed panels. Each panel features a century's worth of information, highlighting important events such as the construction of Castle Cornet and the knitting industry on the island. Visitors can also learn about Guernsey cows while admiring the impressive embroidery. The gallery offers an audio guide for concise information and a small entrance fee is charged.
As a tapestry enthusiast myself I found this museum fabulous.
It was closed
Called the number on the door
Very nice lady
Would go again
Hopefully next time we get to see some tapestries
5 stars

Very interesting museum. Friendly and helpful staff. The tapestries were not only beautiful but informative regarding the history of Guernsey. Some unusual gifts in the shop.

Interesting place. Don't be put off by the tapestry bit that is just how the history of Guernsey is shown, it is very interesting to view even if you are not into tapestry. There are a few errors in the audio description but that is not really a problem.

A fantastic project by local people depicting 1000 years of history of the islands. The embroidery is magnificent and audio guide concise. The whole exhibition is worth every penny of reasonable entry fee. You must visit the cafe within the same building for excellent food, service and views.

Walked up the hill to visit the tapestry only to find it says on the door that is only open on a Thursday. Would be usefull if this was updated on here as when your only visiting for the day you don't need to be walking somewhere that's not open.

The Guernsey Millennium Tapestry was conceived and planned in the 5 years before the Millennium. It comprises 10 panels, each one stitched in one of the 10 parishes of Guernsey, each one describing a century of history from 1000 - 2000AD.
Both the design and needlework are beautiful and housed in cases with subdued lighting for maximum effect. There's an audio which enables you to view the panels and listen to the description at the same time.
I loved the fact that it was truly a community effort, visiting hospitals, schools and fetes for anyone who wanted to add their stitches. When I bought some stamps for my Tapestry postcards, the shop assistant said "Shall I show you where my stitches are?!"
This exhibition will particularly interest those into history and needlework.

I have to be honest I'm not much into Tapestry, there are 10 beautiful ones on display in a single hall capturing various aspects of Guernsey's history. Prize is £5 for an adult and there's audio guides available in various languages.
There's an absolutely lovely hidden gem of a cafe on the 2nd floor with stunning views across the St Peter's Port and the food & service provided by the lovely couple is fabulous.

I went here recently because a friend informed me of it. It consists of ten hand sewn panels, each panel represents 100 years of Guernsey history. It was created in celebration of the millennium. There was a short audio commentary about each of the 10 panels.
Hauteville House, the former residence of renowned writer Victor Hugo during his exile from France, is now a preserved museum on Guernsey. The eccentric decor reflects Hugo's larger-than-life personality and DIY opulence, with many furnishings crafted by the author from bric-a-brac finds. The house features symbolic memorabilia and is considered one of the best museums on the island for learning about this literary genius and how he once lived while writing Les Miserables.
Beautiful very well preserved house of Victor Hugo where he spent his last years.
Making an appointment in advance, is necessary because only small groups are guided through the various rooms of the house.

Really an interesting place. The tour gives you insights about Hugo's tastes, perspectives, interests, and eccentricities. Wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling decoration, odd and interesting furniture intricately carved, everything symbolic of this or that. Our tour guide was brand new and didn't yet have is patter figured out, but he warned us about that and did an admirable job. His heavy French accent was at once charming to hear and challenging to understand.

Brilliant and fascinating place to visit. Beautiful house, gardens and view. Very engaging and knowledgeable tour guide on the life history of Victor Hugo and the house. A must see tourist place to visit when in Guernsey.

Spectacular. Wealth of information from the staff on the guided tour. Would have liked more time to view and poke about as there are so many nooks, crannies, hidden cupboards in the walls and the views from the rear of the house over the garden, castle Cornet and the islands beyond would be amazing in any weather.

Victor Hugo was an extraordinary man. A writer, poet, politician, statesman, artist, abolitionist for slavery and outspoken critic of the death penalty. A fervent critic of the tyrant Napoleon III meant that he was exiled from France, then thrown out of Belgium and Jersey before settling in Guernsey, where he lived for 15 years. Hauteville House was transformed by Hugo with every rooms decoration and design having meaning. The lovely French lady who spoke excellent English gave a thorough and extremely interesting tour.

We didn't realise, but you have to book tickets in advance. The tickets are £12 per adult, and you can have the tour in English or French... This is all done when making the booking.
The house tucked away and there's not a huge amount of parking available.
The guided tour is great and it does bring his story to life.
There are several sets of stairs to climb as the house is set over multiple floors and it's a bit narrow in places, but every room has a story to tell!!
This is definitely a must to visit if you're in Guernsey.

House is almost over the top with all VH decorations used, but very interesting with the use of recycled materials such as a door for a table. I would recommend this tour just be sure to book ahead of time.

We had an amazing time at Hauteville House. The guides are passionate about the visit and (if you have time) you should make more than one visit to have a different approach to the place.
A must see in Guernsey!

Interesting experience that you can only enter with a small private guided tour. Adults are 12£ or 10£ for under 25 and students. Reservations are required, but you can walk up and try your luck on entering with a tour in your language. I didn’t want to wait an hour for English tour so I did French and got about 70-80% of it. Nice experience with good views, history and FREE access to gardens for anyone.
This house shows thé eclectic personality and inner thoughts of exiled Victor Hugo

A truly surprising visit in such an enchanting atmosphere!
My group was very warmly welcomed by Odile the Director and magnificently guided by Cedric, passionate and expert of Hugo 's life and works.
We had the chance of learning many unusual aspects of Hugo's interestes and abilities (including drawing and carving).

The tour was a solid hour and very informative. If you are a fan of his work then you should go. If you have spare time and are not a fan (like me), then it is still a good use of time. Booking in advance is essential.
Candie Gardens is a notable public garden located in St. Peter Port, Guernsey. It features an array of plants and flowers from different parts of the world, including succulents, cacti, and herbs. Moreover, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the harbor and neighboring islands from the terraces within Candie Gardens.
The protestant Town Church is a beautiful venue for weddings and funerals with an impressive interior featuring stunning stained glass windows and a high arched roof. Visitors are welcome to come in and look around, admiring the peaceful atmosphere of this place of worship. The church also offers a lovely Christmas display. Despite an unfortunate incident involving a choir boy, the church remains highly recommended as an attractive destination for those seeking quiet reflection amid historic surroundings.

Got married here with the old mrs in 2007, It was a lovely venue, but Unfourtanly one of the choir boys had an accident while singing some of the high notes, it ruined the rest of the wedding as he waddled to the toilet with a brown smear down below, lovely place would recommend.
