The Museum of Carpet is a fascinating place to visit. It features exhibits that showcase the town's carpet industry history and offers workshops, events, and a gift shop. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly, making for an enjoyable experience. Visitors can witness demonstrations of manual early days looms as well as modern power looms used in carpet-making. Children can enjoy activities such as dressing up and designing carpets while learning about the weaving process.
I lived visiting this museum. A wonderful treasure. Took my 11 year old daughter, who loved the activities, dressing up, designing carpets, weaving, and much more.
I found the explanation and demonstration of the carpet-making machine fascinating! Well worth a visit for an hour or two.

I absolutely love museums like this because of how passionate the volunteers are about providing the best experience!
I have wanted to go here for some time and I was not disappointed.
Every person who works here is friendly and informative, a big shout out to Elizabeth who took the time to talk to us about the history of the museum π
I spent about an hour here, there is lots of information on the walls and the machines are amazing. They weren't on when I went but that just gives me another excuse to go back and see them in action.
If you love to know how things are made then the carpet museum should definitely be on your to do list!

We had a fabulous time at the children's weaving workshop today. Anthea, Andrea and Linda were very informative and helpful, the children loved it and were so excited to take home a finished woven placemat/wall hanging. The reception staff were all very welcoming too. Thank you all for a fabulous morning, we look forward to returning again soon.

A small museum but packed full of the history of carpet manufacture and Kidderminster itself. The guides are very well informed and you can watch weaving and spinning demonstrations. We learned about the Huguenot settlers bringing their artisan skills to the town. It's well worth a visit and a gem of a local museum.

Fascinating. Much better than expected. A must visit for anyone who has worked in the trade or is interested in the history of the carpet industry.
Bewdley train station is operated by volunteers and is located on a historic railway that runs alongside the River Severn, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The train ride is powered by a steam engine, providing passengers with the opportunity to travel back in time. The nearby villages of Bewdley and Arley are picturesque and perfect for leisurely walks, particularly Arley with its beautiful arboretum.
This was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The staff were brilliant and attentive. The view of the countryside was fantastic. It was great to go back in time on a steam engine driven train. When we're in the area again I would love to do this again.....brilliant day!! Thank you guys, well done!

I really love visiting Bewdley and Arley on the SVR. Both villages are gorgeous to walk through especially Arley and the arboretum. I you feel up to it, it's a decent walk up to the reservoir too but only do that when its dry, otherwise you'll slip into the Severn for a dip.

Love this station. Always busy. I do think the cafe needs to be a bit more aware of the timetable. We were there at7.45 for the first train at 8.20 on Sat and were hoping for a bacon sandwich and a cuppa. There was one lady there just after us who advised they would be open at 8. We did order, she had to warm up the cooker and were were the 2nd customers served and we took our food to the train to be asked not to take the fried food on the train so we then had to eat fast or throw it away. I felt the cafe should be aware.
James the guard was helpful and happy to look after us

Hartlebury Castle is a historical site with a museum that showcases various artifacts, costumes, toys and crafts. The castle is known for its beautiful grounds which offer plenty of opportunities for picnics and observing wildlife. There are also several trails designed for children to enjoy while they search for hidden items. Within the castle walls lies a stunning chapel and interactive displays throughout. The opposite wing features an interesting museum, with plans to develop new features in the future.
A lovely place to visit, especially for children. The grounds are lovely to walk round, picnic tables located at many spots. Lots of wildlife to see together with a new bird hide.Various trails and items for kids to find and count. Inside the palace , the chapel is very pretty and some great interactive displays are located throughout. The museum in the opposite wing is also very interesting. It looks like a lot of work is going into developing the site further with the addition of new features. The guides and staff were all so friendly and knowledgeable and the cafe is well worth a visit, really nice food and coffee.

This is a very interesting and historical building with a museum of interesting things.
The castle itself was the home of the Bishop of Worcester basically since the Bishopric was founded until relatively recently.
The house is full of interesting rooms and there are talking paintings that explain the use of the rooms, there is also an audio guide included in the price.
The Buildings are set in beautiful parkland.
It is a fascinating place full of little details and things to see, the museum is great with well maintained and explained displays of toys, clothes and everyday items from the last 150 years.
The cafe is very popular and the cake and tea that we had was excellent.
All the staff that we encountered were really nice and helpful, explaining some of the things to look out for and some of the areas of special interest.
Toilets are really modern, fresh and clean.
There is plenty of car parking.
Well worth a visit.

The Drakelow Tunnels Museum offers a fascinating exploration of history, with knowledgeable volunteers providing guided tours through about 4 miles of tunnels. Originally built in 1941 as an aircraft parts factory and later modified into a nuclear bunker during the Cold War, the site provides insight into WWII shadow-factory history. While only part of the tunnels is available for tours due to bat habitats in other areas, visitors can expect a valuable and informative experience.

Visiting from far afield we had a memorable tour with Julian, who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It is volunteers like him that make tours so enjoyable. He answered questions very ably and, combined with the photographic displays, helped us visualise the two different uses of the tunnels. Fascinating. Thank you Julian and all who volunteer there.

About 4 miles of tunnels but only part is available for a tour, bats live in other areas. Built in 1941 as a safe place to build parts for aircraft. In the 60s modifications made to turn it into a nuclear bunker during the cold war. Great place to explore, good value for money, guided tour lasts an hour. Recommended. The cost is a little steep for what it is, however it is an interesting insight into provisions that were made during WWII and the cold war. The guides are knowledgeable and all volunteers so hats off to them, but you can feel that it's not that professional, they do what they can with what they have, most areas are similar and it will be nice if they can recreate and restore some of it to look something like it would have when it was operational. At the moment it's more of a series are similar looking tunnels and some interesting history.

Very interesting tour, tunnels were used during the war then during the cold War. Limited on what they can do as power comes from generators and without a mains supply it would be to expensive to install de-humidifiers. Any equipment on show is susceptible to mold and rust.
Whitlenge Gardens and Tearoom offers a pleasant setting with classic FM playing in the background. The tearoom serves coffee and scones at reasonable prices. The garden center has reasonably priced plants, but there may not be much to see currently. Access to the garden area requires an entrance fee of 5.95, which some visitors may find steep for a 10-minute stroll. Despite this, the staff is friendly and welcoming, making it a nice place to visit overall.

Popped in for a coffee β and tried one of the scones. Setting was nice, clean and tidy, classic FM playing in the background. Price was reasonable.
Headed into the garden centre area to look at the plants, not to much to look at currently, but what was out was reasonably priced.
I then decided to have a look around the garden, but was met by a gate and a friendly chap from Leeds I might add, asking for Β£5.95 to enter. The walk is, in his words "10 minutes at a stroll"
For me walking around a garden in a garden centre is simply good advertisement for nursery etc. But unfortunately I was not going to pay Β£5.95 so missed out on it. And cannot confirm if the price is worth the ask. It's a real shame.
Other than the above, a really welcoming place. Staff were friendly.

As always this constantly evolves, and they make a huge effort to be seasonal. The grand children love coming here as it is always nicely laid out and suitable for wheelchair users other than one very small area but is still accessible.

Visited here a few years ago, it seems to have gone a little down hill since then.
It was a baking hot day when we visited this time, but it was very quiet.
There is a lovely tea room, but the quality of the food and drink is nowhere as good as it used to be. The cakes are only average and the coffee is very much on the weak side. They used to do a lovely home made fresh milkshake!, sadly no more.
The gardens are Β£4.50 per adult to walk round, not the best value but not too over the top either. We had the benefit of a beautiful day so things always seem better. There are some nice flowers and shrubs with little hide aways, water fearures and unexpected ornaments. Everything just seemed a bit tired though.
The plants they had for sale in the nursery section though were terrible, most looked half dead.
The staff are all pleasant and friendly.
It was a nice couple of hours spent there, but I wouldn't visit again.
A shame as it could be really good.

The museum itself while small, has lots of historic signs, equipment and rail-related items to view for train enthusiasts.
I would love to see some descriptive plaques or sheets explaining what some of the equipment is.
There are two interactive areas in the museum. Firstly the railway levers upstairs at the back of the museum allow you to follow written instructions and set the different configurations needed to allow trains to pass from right to left and vice versa.
Secondly, there is a working isolated automatic telephone exchange, with a number of old style telephones that can call eachother. When you pick up the handset, you can actually hear and watch the exchange working. Wonderful for introducing children to telephony and old technology.
Brilliant place!

Beautiful and romantic garden. A wonderfully relaxing way to spend a dreamy few hours in an afternoon. The strong theatrical structure of the garden cradles the loose fluid planting. Spot something you like and you might be lucky enough to take it home with you from the nursery. Highly recommended.

Although the flowers weren't in full bloom, as we apparently visited the garden just after the first bloom, and in between the second, the out buildings and little nooks and crannies, make this garden so quirky and unique. I wasn't surprised to see artist's scattered around, capturing the ambience, which is particularly good, and everyone I spoke to agrees, telling me they are hoping to retur,so.,so it's obviously a favourite amongst them.
The only problem we encountered was the toilets, as there were in such a state that my 87 year old father was able to use them, so there's room for improvement there.

Worth going out of your way for - even though it's smaller than some gardens in the area, it has such a density of beautiful, unusual plants in its magical turreted setting that 2 hours goes past in the shake of a lamb's tail. Artfully done by a very talented plantswoman who makes her visitors as in love with her green children as she is. A complete pleasure.

A really unpleasant experience. On arrival two dogs chased our car and kept barking menacingly at us all the way to the entrance. Looking around for a while finally a lady came to see us and with unfriendly manners told us that the nursery don't have the plant I was looking for (although stated otherwise in their list). When I pointed out that its on the list she told me that she had 2 of them but they would be too expensive, with the obvious assumption that I could not or I would not pay the phantom price. But the worst was yet to come, heading back to the main road the dogs chased our car again and one of them scratched the rear bumper all over in a dreadful way. I really regret my visit there.
Brinton Park is a spacious and well-equipped park that features trails, grassy areas, athletic fields, a skatepark, and a splash pad. The park is perfect for dog walking and has established trees with abundant wildlife. Additionally, there is plenty of seating available throughout the park. During events such as fetes or circuses, there are numerous bouncy castles set up for children to enjoy. It's an ideal place for families to spend some quality time together in the great outdoors.

Parked here after dropping a friend off a hospital just up the road and had a walk around the park while their appointment was taking place. Hilly in places but you can walk a more flat route as well, there are toilets but they were closed when I was there so can't guarantee open times. Basically pretty useful for hospital and the really small car park there which is often ful and you have to pay.

Nice park. Plenty of space, lots of seating. There was a fete type thing on when we went, with a circus, a mini dog show, and numerous bouncy castles being set up

Sausage and cider festival. Around 20 food stalls, 2-3 cake stalls, bouncy castle, axe throwing, and a few coffee stalls. Only 2 stalls sold cooked sausages, and 3 sold cider. They were pointless, nothing special. It was more of a food festival, and even then, nothing special. We had a tray of chips with Saad and a small amount of minced beef Β£10 each. Live music, awful. This event is in Solihull Park at the end of May. Don't bother. It's rubbish.

A very large park with a little bandstand, kids play park, skate area, tennis court. Minimal parking but plenty on the surrounding streets. Pathways through and some nice flowers and trees planted. I cludes a splash park for the summer and toilets. Known to hold events for the community which can be busy but plenty of space for everyone on the grass.

Nice place to go on a hot day. Water splashes, playground, and lot of grass :)
Everything is dated, but it is still quite good.

Great open mark in the middle of kidderminster, always different events going on from cinema in the park too the annual brintons bash that brings the community together with live acts and performances and a family fair, facilities at the park include large open green areas a memorial garden with flower beds and stream, tennis courts and a skate park, splash park that's operational during the warm weather and large play park and a small gardening centre there is also a block of toilets although these are not the greatest. Theres is currently a project to improve the park and the facilities including reinstating the original Victorian features such as putting the lake back in.

Nice park just off the ring road, super safe little playground for children and small water park for young children when warm and safe to open.
Really clean the day we went with good quality benches dotted around to enjoy the park and fresh air.

Lovely park with an historical past. New benches next to the monument, lest we forget. The grass is a little bold from last year's events. Maybe could do with a few grass seeds this spring. Good safe park for little ones and safe parking for cars.
