The beach pavillion Portrush East Strand is a beautiful gem located on the North Coast. It boasts a stunning and expansive stretch of sand that leads to White Rocks Beach. The facilities are excellent, including a large car park that recently became chargeable, as well as coffee shops and restaurants nearby. This beach is particularly popular among surfers and paddle boarders who can hire wetsuits and boards on-site.
It is a truly beautiful stunning and very clean beach and very flat for walking.
Ideal for everyone to take a stroll.
There are parking charges in force including disabled bays with a snack bar now on site on the carpark for drinks, ice creams etc.

What a lovely sight to see on our first day to Portrush .
A splendid sunset walk it is too before dinner .
So nice to watch the all day surfing .. from a high point in the town . The wind whirling out to see each wave then always winning the fight against the wind .
And Memories of body boarding as a kid comeflooding back .

One of Portrush jewels the beach is open all year round accessible on foot only with pay per stay parking in immediate vicinity or free on street parking nearby. Summer or winter it's a great location to get fresh air and reset

Wonderful place. You have to book very early to get a place to stay.
For food, there are many fast food options, but for restaurants, you need to book one day before.
May options for entertainment and fun. Between sandy beach, funfairs, speed boots, sea trips, food , golf.
Portrush, Portstewart, and Coleraine.
In Coleraine (20) minutes, there's Nandus . Near it a nice bowling, minigolf and gaming centre.

Lovely at evening time. Lovely walk. Curry’s always mad as usual pay £20 and get 25 tokens. Big queues. More amusements across the road but don’t accept the tokens.😀🎢🎡🎠

Love this beach, great 4 a long walk or just sitting listening 2 the waves. Toilets nearby, ice cream van in the car park & not far from the main shops & arcades. Loads going on, on the beach 2day. Volleyball, horses, walkers, surfers, bathers.

A dog friendly beach is not something you find many of in mainland England. We brought our foof for a walk as she hadn't been on a proper walk for a little while and she bounced about like a puppy, burying her nose in the sand and chasing the sea back where it belonged. It was a lovely hour or so spent on the beach in something you don't see that often in northern island the sun, ok it wasn't hot but it made it a great time

The East Strand has developed into a well-resourced entertainment beach, with a fun family atmosphere and tourist activities on hand.
It was brilliant to see it being used as a community venue tonight, with the #wedeservebetter rally taking place on the steps.
Here’s hoping for progress!
Curry's Fun Park is an entertainment center that offers a variety of exhilarating and enjoyable activities. This amusement park boasts thrilling rides, including roller coasters, bumper cars, and water slides. Additionally, visitors can partake in fun games such as skee-ball and whack-a-mole or enjoy the captivating arcade games available on site. Furthermore, Curry's Fun Park has plenty of delicious indulgences to satisfy any cravings with its many food stands offering everything from hot dogs to cotton candy.
Myself and My daughter brought the grandkids here and they loved it, especially splash mountain, my daughter ended up with a wet bum and I ended up drenched lol . The bumper cars were the best. Ghost train could do with much more added to it, not one scare did our 4 year old have never mind the 8 year old. A great few hours and brought back a lot of memories for me.

It’s good to see the former Barry’s site open under a new name, lots of fun for the kids but some improvements to be made. The ghost train ‘puppets’ in particular seem to be mostly broken meaning it’s more of a drive around in a dark area than a ghost train. Easy to spend lots of money here.
Adrian Holden — Google review
Most of these rides are the same as what they were in the former Barry's so no effort here although some great rides have been removed and are now greatly missed.
One noticeable change is the price per person for rides, a lot of these are charging 3 tokens each and the rides don't tend to last long enough to make this anywhere worth it for kids. The biggest let down was the 'Ghost Train' ride, absolutely nothing happened! It was dark and there were some faint sound effects but nothing moved and it was over if felt like 30 seconds!
Begin to think through what you are offering, it should value for money whilst making the whole family happy, both adults and kids!

So good to see this place open again it was very busy. My daughter and her friend went on all the rides they absolutely loved it. If you buy 20 tickets for £20 you get 5 free. Each ride is different so some are 3 tickets some are 2, it just depends what you like. There was a few places to for the kids great day for all.
Trishysnaps — Google review
We only went a walk around as we had our little one with us. It doesn't look like too much has changed layout or amusement wise from Barry's.
There was a large queue for tokens as you would expect as it was the Easter holidays. Hopefully the pictures help.

Very fun, the kids loved it! All the employees were lovely but especially a younger boy, I’m not sure if his name, but he is brunette and normally works at the waltzers I’m pretty sure, I would say he is 16-18, whoever it is well done 👏 👏

I rarely write google reviews but this is an exception. This place is not as bad as what people in this section say it is.
This park is an AMAZING sucessor to Barry's Amusements. Keeping classics whilst adding new ride that are STUNNING. Staff are also good craic and enjoyed speaking to them.
Prices are reasonable and it is NOT 'overpriced' as other people say.
Overall I LOVE Curry's Fun Park Portrush and if you are reading this, please take the time to visit here and support the Curry Family. They deserve a standing ovation 👏👏👏

Dodgems tho seem to have been slowed down which is not as fun.
Icecream and drinks a bit pricey.

During our visit to the Portrush Coastal Zone, my family and I had a wonderful time exploring the marine educational area and learning about the fascinating world beneath the waves. Overall, our experience was highly enjoyable, and we left with a newfound appreciation for marine life. While there were a few areas for improvement, we still found the Coastal Zone to be an enriching experience.
The aquariums showcased a decent variety of fish and crustaceans, allowing us to observe and admire the beauty of these underwater creatures. However, we couldn't help but wish for a greater diversity of species. It would have been even more captivating to see a wider range of fish and crustaceans represented, enhancing the overall educational value and creating a more immersive experience.
Additionally, while the aquariums were visually appealing, we felt that more biological information about the fish and crustaceans could have been provided. Understanding the unique characteristics, habitats, and behaviors of the marine life on display would have deepened our understanding and appreciation of each species. Including informative plaques or interactive displays near the aquariums could greatly enhance the educational aspect of the Coastal Zone.
Despite these suggestions for improvement, the Portrush Coastal Zone still offered a valuable and educational experience. The staff members were friendly and knowledgeable, eager to answer our questions and share interesting facts about the marine life. We were particularly impressed by the interactive touch tanks, which allowed us to get up close and personal with some of the marine creatures. It was a joy to feel the rough texture of a sea star and witness the gentle movements of a hermit crab.
Furthermore, the Coastal Zone's dedication to promoting marine conservation and environmental awareness was commendable. The exhibits and displays highlighted the importance of protecting our oceans and the delicate balance of marine ecosystems. We left with a renewed commitment to being responsible stewards of the environment.
In conclusion, the Portrush Coastal Zone is a worthwhile marine educational area that provides an engaging experience for visitors of all ages. While we felt that the aquariums could have showcased a greater variety of fish and crustaceans, as well as offered more in-depth biological information, the overall educational value and dedication to marine conservation were evident. With some expansion and enhancement, the Coastal Zone has the potential to become an even more captivating and informative destination.

Educational , great experience for all especially for children all ages (a learning curve to all who visit (Portrush Coastal Zone ) All exhibits well displayed awareness of all sea inhabitants . The guide was extremely knowledgeable when children were asking questions about the various species about the environment in which they were maintained.
No entry fee which surprised us or donation box inside to those who may wish to offer a donation to the Coastal Zone in providing so much info in this awesome coastal area 🐟

The coastal scenery is magnificent, with its mixture of long sandy beaches and limestone cliffs with caves & arches....great for walks & exploring. The town itself is a busy popular venue with plenty of good eateries with welcoming helpful staff when you wish to rest from your exertions and relax with a refreshing drink & tasty meal. On this visit we found the Ramore to be a very popular spot with delicious food.

Portrush Visitor Information Centre Seasonal Opening 17 March to 30 September
The Portrush Visitor Information Centre, operating from March to September, is a must-visit for every tourist in the area. Although some may only come for civil weddings, it is worth stopping by for its beautiful views and spacious wedding venue. The centre also offers reliable bus route information and friendly service from knowledgeable workers. Visitors can pick up informative pamphlets during their visit as well. So disappointed in Portrush. Little or nothing to do for adults or children. No water world, closed over 2yrs, Barry's closed also, a few wee rides in place. Foggy most of the time so swimming impossible. Shops dreadful, full of 'cheap toy tat'. The worst experience was trying to get somewhere to eat each night. Most places 45m wait, no booking in advance, everything ordered and paid for via online from your phone if you were lucky enough to get a table. Shop assistants didn't seem interested in your business, as if you were bothering them. A very different place to the last time we were there. Would not recommend it. Trip to Port Stewart better.

Ramore Head, also known as "the point," is a beautiful peninsula that offers excellent opportunities for walking, picnicking, fishing, bird watching and enjoying sunsets. There is also a play park and outdoor bowls available. During winter months it is equally worth visiting. This small coastal walk offers stunning views and plenty of fresh air. Although not elevated significantly, the scenery still impresses with views across to Donegal and truly breathtaking sunsets which can make you feel alive!

The Portrush Library is housed in a charming historic building on Causeway Street and offers an extensive collection of books and newspapers. Members can use the ten available computers for free. Although the library now closes on Thursdays due to recent cutbacks, it remains a valuable asset to the community. The friendly staff are always willing to order books from other branches and provide helpful information about local activities, events, clubs, and places of interest through their comprehensive supply of informative leaflets.
Lovely old building on Causeway Street which houses quite a decent range of books and newspapers. There are about 10 computers which people can use, free if you're a member. Given recent cutbacks the library is now closed on a Thursday but better that than full closure. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and will willingly order books from other branches. On Wednesday mornings they provide free tea/coffee and biscuits. They accommodate various groups and clubs from nursery school children to the Portrush Historical Society and a knitting group. They also have a comprehensive supply of informative leaflets to promote local activities, events, clubs and places to see. Always enjoy my visit there and would hate to lose the library - it's a great asset to the town.
