Sianok Valley Panoramic, located in West Sumatra near Bukittinggi, offers breathtaking vistas of volcanoes and a lush forested valley. The site also provides access to a network of World War II bunkers for visitors to explore. To reach the canyon's summit, one can hire a guide to navigate through the jungle and hike up the hill. Alternatively, tourists can take in the stunning scenery from nearby parks that showcase panoramic views of rice fields and surrounding landscapes.
I had a wonderful time at Panorama Ngarai Sianok, a park that offers a breathtaking view of the Sianok Canyon, a natural wonder that resembles the Green Canyon in America. The park is located in Bukittinggi, a city in West Sumatra that is rich in culture and history. From the park, I could see the majestic cliffs, the lush greenery, and the winding river that make up the canyon. The scenery was so beautiful and serene that I felt like I was in a painting.
The park also has some attractions that are worth visiting, such as the Lobang Jepang, a network of tunnels and bunkers that were built by the Japanese during World War II. The tunnels are dark and narrow, but they provide a glimpse into the past and the hardships that the people faced during the war. There is also a museum that displays some artifacts and information about the history of Bukittinggi and Sumatra.
The park is well-maintained and has some facilities for visitors, such as toilets, cafes, souvenir shops, and playgrounds. The entrance fee is very cheap, only 15,000 rupiah per person. The park is open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm every day except Friday. The park is easily accessible by car or motorcycle from the city center.
I recommend Panorama Ngarai Sianok to anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty and heritage of Bukittinggi and Sumatra. It is a stunning and historic attraction that you should not miss.

This place is awesome! Eventhough you have to pay 15k to get in and pay additional fee 5k if you want to take a picture in their special spot, i think it's pretty worth it. The views are spectacular and the air is fresh. This place also featured in our 2k Rupiah, so you may want to take a picture by comparing Sianok Valley in the money vs the real one.
You can also enter Japan Cave from here, but i don't know if you have to pay again or not.
If you only want to pay for the entrance, be creative! There are lot of free spots in here, free from additional charges and offer fantastic view of Sianok Valley.
I absolutely would recommend this place to anyone who wants to see the real beauty of Bukittinggi.

An amazingly beautiful view that can be seen from Sianok's Panorama Park. Enter a paid area, usually a package visit to the Japanese Hole (Lobang Jepang). Coming with a group, a tour guide is available who will provide a complete explanation. Guide fee exclude the ticket, paid @Rp. 15,000 / person. Very worth the price.
If you want to see a more beautiful panorama, there is a tower of view, not too high but the canyon looks wider, longer and extraordinarily beautiful.
So, it is not wrong that this beautiful view adorns the image on the Indonesia Rupiah IDR. 1,000,- old printing and IDR. 2,000,- released in 2016.
Panorama Park is beautifully arranged, gazebos with typical Minang roofs including carvings adorn the garden area.

Nice place, near and clean. There's lot of monkeys but they didn't disturb the visitors. We also saw an amazing view from Menara Pandang. As for Lubang Japang, it need a guide to enter, approximately 75-85k rupiah per small group.

The scenery is magnificent, but the facilities are not really under a good maintenance. But still, the nature will talk more to you. Awesome place.

This place is as like its name, is the place when our first vice president were born. So nothing much to see here, it just a traditional house with traditional utensils, which uses in all over Indonesia household. But great as a reminder that our one of Indonesia's hero was from West Sumatra.

The museum is clean and well maintained. The good place to learn Bung Hatta while he was in his hometown. However, it will be more good if there is a tour-guide who can speak English so that if there is foreign tourist, they are not confusing when visiting this palace.
No accommodation is needed to pay the ticket.

First time to be here since my first visit to Sumatera Barat..
For the factor that the place is hard to visit are, there are no parking area around the museum and it is located in the center of the Bukittinggi town, right on the busy area.
So we have to park our car in the distant and just take a little walk..
But it's worth it after you get into the place.. Be sure to come here folks.. nice
