It has an entry fee of around 20 INR for adults, with visiting hours from 9 AM to 5 PM every day of the week. Nice place to hangout with family. Well maintained lake with pedal boat and row boat facility. Cycling is also available. Entry ticket charges include Rs 30 for adults and Rs 20 for children. Heavy rush during weekends and holidays making road block by heavy vehicles as the road is narrow. Most people are not wearing mask during this pandemic situation. Car parking available for Rs 50 which is 300 metres away from entrance. Try to visit during week days to avoid the rush and enjoy the natural beauty.

A beautiful lake very close to Lakkidi view point.
The USP of this lake is that it is surrounded by lush green forests and hills on three sides giving it a fantastic look. Boating in this lake adds to the charm of the lake.
If one is lucky to get a misty weather then that is just icing on the cake. It also has a small fish aquarium for kids to enjoy.
There are a few shops within the lake boundary and snacks nearby. It also has toilets for public use.

This is a small lake and would need to walk a distance of about 150 to 200 meters.
I visited here during monsoon as the lake was covered with fog and this made it look even better.
The pedal boat here is good for a quick entertainment and this place has some eateries around and a nice place to spend some quality time with your friends and family

Good for first-time tourists. There are ticket counters for admission, boating, and the aquarium. The park play zone, watercraft, and aquarium on display will appeal to children.

The lake is beautiful, though not as maintained but it's in a valley surrounded by the mountains and so the view is mesmerizing. I'd not suggest going here on a weekend as it is very crowded and you won't get to do boating. You can roam around the lake and take in fresh air. Be aware of monkeys as it's a jungle region sorts. They also have stalls but a little overpriced ones.

Pookede lake was near where we stay. So first we visited this lake and it was not weekends unfortunately so it was not crowded much. The ambience was peaceful you can roam around if you don't want to go boating.

I recently visited this lake and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The place offers a nice ambiance with a good view, making it perfect for spending quality time with friends or family. However, I would suggest avoiding weekends as it tends to get too crowded, which can detract from the overall tranquility of the place.
One of the advantages of this lake is that there are plenty of options for food and shopping nearby. So, if you're in the mood for a snack or want to browse through some local items, you won't have to venture far.
Additionally, the lake offers boat rides, which is a great way to explore the surroundings and add some excitement to your visit. It's important to note that the last boat ride usually departs at 5 pm, so make sure you arrive before then to take full advantage of this activity.
If you prefer a leisurely stroll, you'll be delighted to know that there are paths around the lake that allow you to take in the scenery at your own pace. Furthermore, there are designated seating areas where you can relax and enjoy the view.
One thing to keep in mind is that the lake closes at 6 pm, so plan your visit accordingly to ensure you have enough time to fully enjoy the experience.
In conclusion, despite the weekend crowds, the lake is still a nice place to visit, offering a good view and ample opportunities to spend quality time. With nearby food and shopping options, boat rides, walking paths, and seating areas, it caters to various preferences. Just be mindful of the 5 pm cut-off time for boat rides and the 6 pm closing time of the lake

The parking to this place is present 200 meters before the park enters or 300meters after the park enters depends on which side you enter from.
The paddle boating for 4 would cost you around 450₹. There are few shops where you can eat as well.
Do not miss trying the pineapple slice dish near or in the park.

Loved this place. The atmosphere is awesome. It's not crowded so much when we visited on the morning. The walk through the track around the lake is relaxing. Pedal boats, play area for children, snacks station, traditional store and toilet/wash area are available. The area is maintained well, credits to the cleaning staffs. Vehicle need to be parked on the start point which is around 150m away from the ticket counter. No online payment/booking option available for the entry tickets. Some exotic animals are exhibited on the exit area.

A great place to visit with your family. I have visited during a long public holiday, and there was a huge crowd and I had to wait for almost two hours to get the 4 Seater boat. Parking was also quite challenging I parked my vehicle around two kilometers far from this park due to the long weekend. It is best not to visit this park over the weekend and public holiday to avoid long queues. half of the day will be spent just waiting. worth visit highly recommended.

Pookode Lake, located in Wayanad district of Kerala, India, is a picturesque freshwater lake surrounded by lush greenery and tropical forests. Visitors often praise its tranquil atmosphere, scenic beauty, and opportunities for boating. The surrounding area offers activities like nature walks and birdwatching, adding to the overall charm of the destination. However, some reviewers mention that the lake can get crowded during peak tourist seasons, detracting from its serenity. Overall, Pookode Lake is widely appreciated for its natural beauty and is a popular spot for tourists seeking relaxation amidst nature in Kerala.
Kurumbalakkotta Mala is a frequented destination among tourists due to its picturesque views, particularly during sunrise. The hike to the summit winds through dense forested areas and leads up to a hill that provides stunning vistas of mist-filled valleys. This attraction is known for its natural beauty, making it a popular choice for nature enthusiasts seeking a serene escape from urban life.
It's a beautiful hill. You don't need to trek much and can reach to two points : 1. there is a sunrise point which is very crowded and not so clean
2. There is a sunset point which is very calm and has amazing view with less crowd.

The best place to watch Sunset in Wayanad.
Kurumbalakotta in Wayanad, Kerala, is a trekker's dream! Standing at 3,220 feet above sea level, this monolith hillock offers breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery. Trekking here is both thrilling and challenging, as there's no paved path, adding an element of adventure and caution. The landscape from the top is simply outstanding, providing a panoramic view of almost half of the district. Whether opting for a jeep ride or trekking, reaching the peak is worth every effort. From witnessing stunning sunrises to enjoying mesmerizing sunsets, Kurumbalakotta promises an unforgettable experience amidst nature's beauty.
You can come here at any moment. Visit here early in the morning for a gorgeous scene you have never seen before. A jeep ride from down costs 600 rupees for 7 peoples. Camping was also enjoyable. There is a nearby tent rental service, but it is somewhat pricey. For the best, bring your tent.

"The Morning bliss can be blessed sometimes".
It's a calm place for a splendid sunrise but it's crucial to be there at time and season. March to June is not so good as we know and October to January is best I think.
Have to Trek only 1km or less to the top.
Network is good up there, no problems.
Snacks and drinkable's are available on top.
Not best when too crowded because of spatial reasons.

I had the pleasure of visiting Kurumbalakkotta Mala in Kerala, a hilltop that promises a sunrise above the clouds. The journey to this serene destination offers a choice between a calming trek and a convenient jeep ride. For Rs. 600, the jeep can transport up to 7 people up and down the hill.
The main attraction is the sunrise, occurring between 6 am to 8 am, creating a breathtaking spectacle as the sun emerges amidst the clouds. Unfortunately, on the day of my visit, dense clouds delayed the sunrise until 8:30 am, which is unusual.
Despite missing the sunrise, the natural beauty of the area with its lush forest was mesmerizing. The diverse flora and fauna added to the enchantment.
In summary, Kurumbalakkotta Mala offers a unique blend of adventure and nature, with the chance to witness a sunrise above the clouds. Whether you choose to trek or take the jeep, the experience is calming and the surroundings are stunning, making it a memorable trip, even if the sunrise is a bit elusive.

The Karapuzha Dam Adventure Park & Garden is a popular tourist spot that features a range of exciting activities for families. Visitors can enjoy gyroscope rides, trampolining, and even try out a high-speed zip line that offers stunning views of the reservoir. This adventure park provides an ideal opportunity for families to bond while experiencing thrilling activities amidst picturesque surroundings.
A good place to hangout, it has good garden with beautiful flowers and well managed park. They have kids play area as well and some kids jhula. Good view of the dam. Best time to visit is in evening as you can feel the cool breeze and sunset. It was too crowded and too much rush.
They have a very long zipline at very affordable price. It is really great but you will have to give them time as they take you through Jeep for it, and it takes time for your token number to come.
They have closing time and they are very strict to it so plan your trip accordingly.

Such a nice place to spend some time with family and friends. Kids will definitely enjoy the garden at the dam. Flower maintenance was great. A superb place to visit if you are in Wayanad. It was not crowded even on holiday take a walk on the path along the backwaters with cool breeze blowing and a nice sunlight and enjoy the picturesque sunset between the mountains and cloud.
The park has some swings and trampoline for children plus there is also a decent Giant swing (ticket around 300 per person). And there is a very long and thrilling zip line (390 per person) from which you will get the view of backwater, a canal, a dam and vast green areas, from a very great height.
The entry ticket is minimal, there is a cafe inside with good options for snacks at normal rates, but the queue for Giant swing is long.

It's good place for a walk in evening and morning but not recommended in noon and it's only good if the Dam is filled up if not going out to this location is quite annoying. Ticket would cost 30/p and extra for cameras.
View is decent as usual with respect to all other Dam location.
People interested in zipline activity can give it a try and for now the place is still under renovation no much sight seeing here.

A very nice adventure park built very close to the dam. A good place to visit in the evenings to enjoy the cool breeze and enjoy the rides. They offer a zipline right above the dam from one corner of the dam to the other. There are many other small rides as well that anyone can enjoy.
This place also has many food stalls outside the main gate. Official parking is a bit far, around 500-600m from where you have to walk upwards towards the main gate. People also park on the main road outside the gate, if the space is available.
And we just got lucky to have visited this place before the rain just before sunset to witness a double rainbow !! I haven't seen such a fabulous rainbow ever, a full semi-circle sharp rainbow one over the other.

Karapuzha Dam Adventure Park & Garden: Our weekend visit to the Karapuzha Dam Adventure Park & Garden was marked by an enticing blend of nature's charm and recreational pursuits. While our experience was generally positive, there were certain aspects worth noting for future visitors.
The entry ticket cost of 30 rupees per person was a reasonable fee to access the park's offerings. However, it's important to mention that the entry line was quite small, making the process efficient and hassle-free.
Upon entering the park, we were immediately drawn to the thrill of the zip-line. The ticket counter for the zip-line was easily identifiable, but the waiting time was substantial, taking up to at least an hour. This popularity indicated the excitement that awaited participants, though the wait could be quite lengthy.
For families with children, the trampoline area was an attraction in itself. A separate ticket counter next to the trampoline provided access, and while the line was modest, it added an extra layer of fun for the little ones.
The availability of clean and well-maintained toilets within the park was a relief, especially considering the high volume of visitors on weekends. It's worth mentioning that the facilities were in relatively good condition despite the large crowd.
Our visit was slightly constrained due to the long queue at the zip-line, and as a result, we spent around 30 minutes exploring the other attractions. The park's main attraction, the zip-line, understandably garnered significant attention, but its popularity also led to a substantial wait time.
In conclusion, the Karapuzha Dam Adventure Park & Garden presented a harmonious blend of nature, adventure, and recreation. While our visit was marked by enjoyable moments and excitement, the wait times for certain activities, particularly the zip-line, could impact the overall experience. As a family-friendly destination with diverse offerings, it offers an opportunity for both adventure and relaxation. Future visitors might consider planning their visit strategically to make the most of their time at this enticing destination.

If this place falls into your other destination, you can pay a visit it. Definitely not a place to visit during summer . Parking wasn’t really available. So called longest(600m?) zip lane seem good but you can’t witness the ‘good views’ of dam if it’s summer. Price seem worthy. There are other games for kids. Many other games are under construction. Don’t forget to carry umbrella , cap, sunscreen and sunglasses if you’re visiting after January.

Karapuzha Dam has always been a cherished destination for us, and we've enjoyed numerous visits in the past. However, this recent trip marked my first experience since the adventure park opened. The park is well maintained and offers a delightful experience. The adventure park tends to be quite busy, especially on weekends and holidays, so it's wise to plan accordingly. Our visit coincided with the Christmas holidays.
One aspect to be mindful of is the parking situation. Unfortunately, the parking area lacks proper security measures. Regrettably, our car sustained scratches during our visit, likely from contact with stones. All four sides of the vehicle were affected.
