The Zenkō-ji Temple, established in the 7th century, boasts a beautiful garden and treasure house. Its most cherished possession is the Ikko-Sanzon statue, considered Japan's first Buddhist image. Despite being unseen by even 37 generations of emperors, Zenkō-ji welcomes an influx of visitors every seven years during Gokaicho Matsuri to view a copy.
A beautiful 7th century temple and surrounding grounds with a long shopping street leading to it from the city centre. You can find lots of delicious treats on the way up the hill and some good gifts to take back home.
This temple is said to hold the first Buddhist statue to ever come to Japan and it is considered to be the birthplace of Buddhism in the country. Nagano Town was built around the temple and it continues to be a major point of interest in the modern city.
I love the two giant Nio Guardians at the outer gate south of the main gate. It is the first structure you pass as you walk up the hill from the city

Visited on the first day of 2023 for the good luck new year blessing. Very crowded, but everyone was in polite manner. There's a special loop bus to digest the mass directly from Nagano Bus Terminal. It's my second visit at the temple, still as divine. The new year atmosphere is something I never experienced before. It was quite a journey!

Not my favourite temple in Japan, but its size is undeniable and the architecture is praiseworthy. The straight path to the main hall reminded me a bit of Kaminarimon. My favourite part was the underground walk in the darkness (don't cheat by turning on your phone)

Very beautiful and picturesque old temple.
It is a national heritage site and the largest wooden structure in japan.
The pagoda at the back of the temple complex holds the ashes of those that died during WW2.
Very sacred place and worth this visit especially in winter.

This is an iconic location in Nagano. The temple area is so big and there are many shrines inside the temple area. During winter it's very attractive. It was highly crowded during weekend.

I went there to visit as a group visit during a Lamborghini event. A Beautiful temple in the heart of Nagano with different complexes. You can go up the temple to enjoy the views from the top. The temple where Kuukai the monk got raised. Very I interesting experience walking in the dark by touching the wall! The only tricky part is that you have to pay at every place you go… would be nice if there was one ticket for all. and it’s not too cheap if it adds up. But it’s I understandable as you need to maintain the temple to be visited by so many tourists !

Have visited this temple at night time, around 9PM 🫣
all the stores around are already closed.
It was majestic at night because there was no crowd. Only the temple and the very silent sound of the area.
You should try to visit it and stroll around the area!

Very cool temple in Nagano with a large complex of important buildings with interesting history! The temple itself is a very iconic building that has been the favorite temple I’ve visited so far in Japan. I’d recommend buying the combination pass (1200 yen) which allows you to enter to enter all the ticketed areas of the Temple grounds. Each is quite unique and worth a look. The Main Hall includes an underground passage which is quite dark and a fun experience to walk through! The Main Gate provides great views of the temple itself and the surrounding scenery. The museum offers many pieces of art related to the museum and the deities relevant to the temple. It also has a cool section with artifacts from when the 14th Dalai Lama visited Zenkoji. The last ticketed building has a large revolving storage for scripture that if you push it one full revolution will give you the same status as if you had recited all the scripture itself! Visiting Zenkoji is a must-do activity when visiting Nagano and the transportation is very easy from the city center! Also, the temple is surrounded by great small shops with souvenirs and some excellent food!

This is a beautiful and culturally important Buddhist temple. On the day we visited, there were hundreds of people. Many tourists were enjoying the beauty of the buildings, gardens, and statues. The locals were going about their rituals of prayer or celebration. Family groups celebrate their children's coming of age, dressed in their traditional kimonos. Worshippers receiving blessings from the priest or praying for good health. A great experience.

Main highlight to visit in Nagano. This gigantic buddhism temple has a long history over 1400 years.
Before getting to the main temple, there is a shopping street where you can enjoy buying souvenirs or snack or food.
The main temple offers an interesting activity that is, walking into a pitch black tunnel. You wont see a thing. What you do is to put your right hand on the walk and use it to guide your direction. There are a few turns there. As long as you hav your right hand on the wall it will be fine. It is believed that once you walk you are purified and then can go to get blessings with several places in the temple. There is also 'a key' in the tunnel ( I feel like a door handle) it is believed that if toy find the key in the tunnel, yoy will be blessed. It is about a waist level on the right and I reckon its about 2/3 of the journey.
There are some other activities also like meditation (called zazen) and calligraphy.

It's the better asakusa in every way. Way bigger temple, nicer area, beautiful garden. More food stalls, better quality food and souvenirs, cheaper too. It's never crowded, almost no foreign tourists. It's one of the best places I've been to.

Personally had a decent time walking around all aspects of the temple and admiring its beauty and significance.
Just sadly found the place a bit too over commercialised with the main hall of the temple with the Buddha for prayer costing people 700 Yen to pray. A bit too far from my perspective.

Stunningly beautiful location in the lovely city of Nagano. Would advise going early in the day as it gets a little busier later on. Well worth a trip into the main temple itself for a look around (no pictures, so take it all in!) and a talk to the staff there who are welcoming & explained to us (in very good English) the meaning of the temple & various adornments within.
The rest of the grounds are picturesque with a mountainous backdrop against various temple buildings. We also left a Gankake-Kitsune as an offering at a small shrine & made a wish.
Take your time to soak it all in & enjoy the serenity of this amazing place :)

One of the most beautiful temples to visit while in Japan. The complex is surrounded by multiple structures, sculptures and gardens.
The entrance to the complex is free except for the main temple.
There are many stores at the side of the road leading to Zenko-ji temple.

Beautiful temple! Highly recommend visiting this place if you’re fortunate enough to visit Nagano. We visited on the 1.1.2024. Lots of lovely colourful shops with lots of souvenirs to purchase. The only thing I don’t recommend was the earthquake that we experienced! Very scary but all part and parcel of a fantastic experience at Zenkoji Temple.

Great experience. At 7 am is the ceremony and it worth it to be there so early in the morning. The surroundings are beautiful and you can find statues of Buddha. You can also make your Goshuin for 500 yen.

It is an amazing place to feel the spirit and history of ancient times. The temple and the surrounding buildings are of a grandeur scale. There is a sense of serenity. We walked up from Nagoya Station in what was a very flat sand easy walk. Lots of souvenir shops, coffee shops, and restaurants on the way up to the temple. We got there around 3:30 in the afternoon, and there were very few signs of crowds. There was lots of information about Zenko-ji on display for those curious. Lots and lots of photo opportunities. Definitely put it on your must do list if in or near Nagano.
Was lucky enough to head back there a few days later but went at about 6 pm. Totally different vibe at night and lovely picture opportunities. Very few people, just a few locals walking through the grounds. Zenkoji is well lit up, as are the gates. If you have tome, a night walk up there is recommended.

This is a must if you are visiting Nagano, especially for the first time. The area can be quite crowded especially in the afternoon. For people who prefer walking, you can also walk from Nagano station to Zenkoji temple. There are also busses you can take from Nagano station to Zenkoji temple. The place is really nice and quiet!

We loved this place. It payed by itself the travel to Japan. Nagano is a beautiful town, completely different to Tokyo. Architecture is amazing and whole vibe.
Zeko-ji it's a complete town itself, surrounded by several other minor temples, gardens and amazing landscapes.
There're options to stay in small temples and houses around the temple and live the spiritual lifestyle, that has to be an unforgettable experience.
Woodwork, wood sculptures are like nothing you've seen before. The giant warriors keeping the gigantic gates seems like they're alive.
A must visit in Japan, don't miss this place and please reserve at least half day in the area.
If you're ok with walking, it is just 30 mins from Nagano Station in a straight direction to the temple. The avenue is packed with nice design stores and astonishing design houses.

Exploring the temple grounds revealed beautifully manicured gardens, serene ponds, and various smaller shrines, each with its unique charm. In the heart of Nagano City, Zenkoji Temple stands as a testament to the enduring power of spirituality and the beauty of cultural heritage.
The Upper Togakushi Shrine is a revered Shinto shrine nestled amid towering cedars on a mountain that dates back two millennia. It is situated in Nagano Prefecture and can be accessed easily by taking the Alpico Bus from Nagano Station to Togakushi Okusha Iriguchi Bus stop. The trail leading to the quaint shrine is straightforward, with some mild inclines towards the end.
Good long walk up the snowy path. Must have good snow shoes as it was very slippery, along the hike is beautiful.

The shrine is powerful and spiritual shrine in Japan. Visiting at winter is hard to go but it is worth for u and us. Hopefully have a wonderful experience there. You will be inspired from god and received something special.
Masa U — Google review
We trekked in with our snowshoes and had no issues getting to the shrine. We saw many others walking, which I would not recommend. The path becomes slippery and at the end, it is very easy to fall as you’re walking up or down from the shrine. Do not stand too close to the buildings as you just don’t know when the snow might slide from the top. The pathway up is beautiful thanks to the huge cedar trees. If you’re in the area don’t miss your chance!

Nice trail aligned with tall trees. The hike is 40 minutes to the upper shrine. The first half of the hike to the gate is easy, but after the gate, it gets harder and harder. The beginning of April has slippery snow. Several people fall, I fall once too, most of us are unable to get to the Shrine, we have to stop right before we get to the Shrine because it is just too dangerous.
iris soh — Google review
I went there on Jan 2023, the view was fabulous. There's snowing covered all around the path way. But the local Nagano government has done perfectly security and service, they have staffs to take care of anyone visiting there even it's quite hard a bit dangerous especially for the old people to go there at the period of time (you better prepare winter boots or shoes's stud strap) it will be comfortable and easy to walk since the path is quite long and you need a bit climbing.
(It was around -7° but I have a take my jacket off a while)
When I was there, it didn't have many people or tourists, so I spent around 2-3 hrs peacefully.
For the tourists, the best way to go there in the winter is a rental car with winter tires. Since there's no public transportation but the bus only. And when they drop you off, they're not gonna pick you up like a regular bus. So recommended to renting a car and you can go anywhere as you like.
Tony T — Google review
The walk and the trees are absolutely stunning, some of them are over 800 years old. Depending on the weather, the path can be quite slippery, take good shoes and make sure you are comfortable with Klein being big steps across large rocks. The temple at the top is modest and small, a little bit underwhelming, compared to other things you can see in the area. There is not much of a view, as there are a lot of trees around.
If you’re lucky, you can see some monkeys on the way up.

A wonderful, easy level hike that you can do in Nagano Prefecture. Take the Alpico Bus in front of Nagano Station to Togakushi Okusha Iriguchi Bus stop, and the easy level trail starts right there. It takes around 1 hours to get to the small shrine and you can experience amazing view of pine trees and magical forest energy. The path is plain mostly, with some minor steep area around the end.
I did the hike in the early summer of mid-June with a lot of nice early forest plants. You can do this hike in winter times but be careful that the road may be on ice and slippery. There is also a camping place around the area, that I wish I can stay overnight the next time around.

A wonderful, easy shrine trails that you can do in Nagano Prefecture. It takes almost an 1 hour to get to the small shrine from Nagano Station, and you can experience amazing view of massive pine trees some say you could hear the heartbeat of the trees if you listen carefully. The path is mostly flat with some minor steep steps towards the end where the shrine is located. Several soft cream shops outside of the temple one should definitely try the soba flavored.

The Matsushiro Castle Ruins is a reconstructed structure that was originally built in 1560. The castle has stunning autumn hues, and the main entrance is well maintained and visually appealing. Located just a short walk from the famous Zenko-ji Temple in Nagano, the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts. It's a wonderful museum. It is spacious and the exhibits are easy to look around. I bought a combined ticket for both the Hokusai exhibition and the Higashiyama Kaii Museum, but the Hokusai exhibition was so large that I got tired of walking. Kaiikan was also good, but I thought it was a little wasteful.

Rebuilt in the concept of “landscape museum” and located right next to Zenkoji temple, the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum also houses the gallery of Higashiyama Kai, the much loved landscape painter of Japan. The architecture, the garden, the collection, the vibes…everything was stunning. We went on a rainy spring day and the view of rain drenched verdant leaves and the fog-enshrouded mountains was mystical. A great place to rejuvenate oneself! The old (Zenkoji) and the new (the museum) perfectly juxtaposed! A must see for everyone that visits Nagano city.

As for the parking lot, there is a free parking lot when you go up the side of the museum, but it is very crowded on holidays. The Zenkoji No. 3 parking lot behind Zenkoji Temple costs 600 yen for 2 hours, but it is a 2-minute walk and there is no climbing, so there is no stress.
There is a parking lot on the north side of the museum where people with disabilities and pregnant women can park, so those who have difficulty walking can use it.
The roof terrace has the best views.
Also, the restrooms are very clean and the staff are polite and kind, so it's very relaxing. ✨
Higashiyama Kaiikan is a different world where time seems to have stopped, and the scenery from the window is art itself.

Can't beat the location but i got the very worst customer service from various shops in THIS one single mall in Japan!! It was so bad that i went to even talk to the local tourism office there about them: 1. Floral shop clerk ignored me although i have waited over 5 mins patiently while she was just busy wrapping up flowers, 2. Grocery shop clerk basically threw 4 pairs of disposable chopsticks in my basket roughly as soon as i asked for a pair of chopsticks for my sashimi 3. Went to a western style restaurant for strawberry parfait but this is way too sweet that no normal person can finish it while I DID because I traveled alone & didn;t want to make a scene 4. cosmetic counter lady tried to scam me by putting a product i didn't want to buy and pretend it was the one i wanted in the tax free sealed bag (both are same price). I bought products from this same lady 3 times in the last 18 months!! When she was caught she pretended it was a mistake and kept asking me to keep the wrong item because it is already paid and in sealed bag!! If you were solo tourist, I highly suggest to stay away from this mall especially any shops selling food, grocery and makeup/skincare !!

(Translated by Google) Nobuyuki Sanada, if you expect to see the materials of Nobushige, you will encounter a watermark.
The Sanada clan entered the area after the Edo Shogunate was stabilized (1622), so there are no documents about them and their father.
I regretted it so just in case.
Still, I think it's an interesting museum where you can see the location of the Sanada family under the Tokugawa regime.
What surprised me was the behavior of the Sanada family at the end of the Edo period.
Even if the Tokugawa family is indebted to him... I feel that the Sanada family has the talent to see the wind since Nobuyuki.
However, I thought that the reason many people liked Sanada was because of Nobushige's (Yukimura) clumsy way of life.
By all means, please take a look at the museum to the end and think about it.

Togakushi Ski Resort is a winter sports complex located an hour's drive from Hakuba. It boasts challenging downhill trails, a dedicated kids' area and nearby shrines for visitors to explore. The resort also features a soba restaurant and a new cafe. While the ski slopes on the green and blue runs are steeper than expected (+1/2 star), the helpful counter staff who speak English and patient rental staff make it an excellent choice for first-time snowboarders.
It's really nice place for skiing. All the staff also really nice. Recomended!!

Good slopes for the price. Nice infrastructure. The course signs could use some rework for clarity, but overall one can quickly learn to navigate by trial and error, especially if they're not too beginner. One thing I disliked, though, is that the courses don't seem too fit for snowboarding, as several times the slope gets level and I have to unstrap and sometimes even walk. Anyways, it's good enough for the price!
Rui Leite — Google review
I went their first week of opening, so only one slope was open, but their ski lift ticket was also discounted at ¥2000. The counter staff were friendly and could speak English. It was my first time on a snowboard, and the rental staff were also very patient and friendly in teaching me how to strap myself on.

The ski resort was hard to get to. An hours drive from Hakuba. Ski slopes were steeper than what I expected on the green and blue runs (+1/2 star). And the cafe was new(+1/2 star). Would likely come again when the snow is better (went in mid Mar 23) though I would dread the journey up from Nagano or Hakuba

The Togakushi Ski Resort is one of the best places to enjoy winter sports in Nagano city, very close from the downtown of Nagano city, it takes about 40 minutes by car, a bus is also available from the Nagano Railway Terminal. The snow quality is excellent, there is very smooth powder snow in almost all areas.
There are two restaurants in the resort, the restaurant offers tasty lunch, recommended cold Togakushi Soba noodles (Japanese buckwheat noodles), also recommended to visit early like 11:00 - 11:30 to take lunch. No chance of getting a table around noon.

Fun for all ages! We came from Hakuba and the drive was super twisty-turning but offered some scenic exploration. Be sure to buy the 6 ticket passes, as the additional offerings are fun for all. The two ninja houses are so fun and all of the obstacle courses are only mildly challenging but whimsical. The woods that surround the park are beautiful. The cafe offers great food for good prices. Dressing the kids in ninja costumes just adds to the excitement (and only ¥400.) Great fun lasting about 3-4 hours.
Kawanakajima Battleground is a serene park situated on the site of a 16th-century battle. The area boasts historical displays, scenic paths, and verdant picnic spots. Visitors can appreciate not only memories from the Sengokujidai era but also apple orchards, towering pine trees surrounding an ancient shrine, a local history museum and nature exhibits. A traditional canteen nearby offers delectable soba noodles.

The terrain was changed completely, the supposed "old battlefield" was just a small park. In reality, the 4th Battle of Kawanakajima was fought on the plains of Hachimanbara, the battle involved over 30000 soldiers, so the battlefield should be at least 2 to 3 km wide assuming both sides were deployed in closed formations. The park was too small, and there was no height anywhere around the park which does not correspond the historical records. Although a bit disappointing, it's still a nice park.

Chausuyama Dinosaur Park is a free city park that showcases numerous dinosaur statues with built-in slides, making it a fun and enjoyable destination for children. A wonderful place for a picnic and a beautiful view of Nagano below. We were a little too early in spring, the cherry blossom was just starting to bloom.
The park is free and has many dinosaurs for the kids to explore and climb onto or into. Some of them double as slides or for climbing.
There are some great slides which were very popular with all the kids in the park. So many smiling faces running up and down the hill. They will all sleep early tonight.
Bring your lunch box with you and a blanket. Find some shade and enjoy the peace and quiet. Don't sit near the slides, too many happy kids.
Lots of parking and clean toilets at the top of the hill. You will find plenty ty of green grass and shade to have your picnic before walking down to the play area.

Loved the day out here. In winter it seemed closed (despite the website saying it opens at 10:30), but you can still visit and walk up the hill to see dinosaurs and use the park. A few Japanese families seem to do the same, so it doesn't seem to be breaking any rules?
Amazing views of Nagano and surrounding mountains. My 5yo loved it, highly recommended to let the kids stretch their legs and see some life-size dinosaurs, ride some slides and get some fresh air. In hindsight, I wish I made more time to see the adjacent botanical gardens and zoo.
FYI no toilets when the ticket office is closed, nearest is probably the Lawson 10min drive away, or maybe the zoo if its ticket office is open.

It is a fun and free park. I went with my 2 sons off 2 and 3 years old. We have spend 2 hours in the park. There is a small shop where you can buy overpriced souvenirs.

Really cool park with lots of dinosaur statues!

This park was amazing. I especially loved the folk tales themed big toys. Of course, the dinosaurs were a plus. :)

Fun park!

It's a lovely clean place with lot's of dinosaur statues showing examples of dinosaurs from around the world. It's a great place to bring a family as there's a lot of picnic areas too plus mini golf. It's good if you come on your own too and want a bit of exercise as the path around the park is pretty steep at times. Very polite carpark employees too with parking at the bottom, middle and top of the park, for free too from what I could see...as is the park.
Jōyama Zoo, which is managed by Nagano city, offers visitors a chance to enjoy animal exhibits featuring sea lions, monkeys, and penguins. In addition to viewing the animals, there are also rides and play equipment available for children. This zoo is an ideal spot for families with young kids looking for a fun day out at no cost. It's great that admission is free of charge so visitors can take advantage of all the attractions without any additional expenses.
Free admission!
Run by Nagano city.
Must place to have a great time with your kids if they are toddlers.

Wanted to like it since entering was free but have to agree that some of the animals are kept in way too small a space. There is at least a nice enclosure for the squirrels that you can enter twice daily (10:30-11:00, 14:00-14:30).

Worst Zoo I have ever been too. The animals are kept in tiny enclosures. There are two sea lions which are kept separated from each other by a net. The deer are kept in a steep concrete enclosure with with no grass. The monkeys appeared to have wounds/rashes on them. Was a horrible experience. The Zoo is free but I would rather pay to enter knowing the animals are looked after. Don’t know how this place is still open.

Sad empty zoo. All the enclosures look too small. The deer in the corner have only a concrete square to stand on. It’s free, but I’d rather pay and see the animals in better conditions.

Saddest collection of animals you will ever see

Did not enjoy. Very depressing. Every animal looked to be in some degree of suffering. A sea lion had it's tail caught under a gate, as she struggled to keep her head above the surface. All pelicans had plucked themselves from stress. I normally have little problem with zoos but this one was not a good time at all.

Nice small zoo. Free to enter. Has lots of rides for young kids and some good exhibits. The shop sells souvenirs and sweet potatoes.

It was free admission, it’s a small zoo and the animals look like they are well cared for. My kids liked it and the staff was friendly, they alone should get a 5 star.

Went here because it was free and honestly first zoo I’ve left feeling sad. Lots of animals in small cages, such as the seals… literally can only swim 4 metre and nothing more.

We stop here with unplanned but it good memorable. Another free zoo park in Japan.

It is a nice zoo.. Good thing it is admission free. The kids will surely enjoy. 😊

The greatest animal park in Nagano city, though a small park rather than others however this is a completely FREE, even merry-go-round, and other big attractions for kids aged less 6 years, otherwise kids in elementary school should pay JPY100, and 300 for adult. I have never seen like this in other cities.
Parking lot is also free!
Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort is a family-oriented ski and snowboarding destination that boasts both beginner and advanced trails, as well as gondola rides. The resort is ideal for those who are new to skiing or snowboarding, with many school options available. Ski-in and ski-out accommodations are readily available, making the resort an enjoyable experience for all ages. A kids play area provides additional entertainment for families with children.
This ski resort has slopes that are excellent for beginners. We visited in early March, and even though there were many other visitors, the slopes were vast and wide, so it didn't feel crowded. It's perfect for beginners to practice. Additionally, they have a course through the forest, which in my opinion is really fun. During our visit, there happened to be some attractions, including fireworks and drum shows.

We totally love this place. It has slopes for everyone, from beginners to intermediate +. The hotels/hostels are dated, but we like Sunshine lodge because it's western style and right by the slopes.

This is the Tsugaike Mountain Resort. Visited on the end of Jan 2024 for skiing. Unfortunately, there is no fresh powder snow as it hasn't snowed in the last several days, however the slopes are perfectly groomed and compressed. Flat, wide and long, the pistes for expert are excellent as well as for behinners.
There are 4 car parking lots around the resort. Recommended the Champion Car Parking Lot where you can park for free on weekdays and weekends from 6:00 to 18:00. It takes about a minute to walk to the nearest slope. Ski straight down the slope in a couple of minutes, you will reach the ticket office then. No deposit is required for a lift ticket, so you can go straight back to this parking lot.

Worst ski resort in the entire valley.
They never have their upper lifts open, saying it is due to the strong winds, but it is just a lame excuse to save costs. And yet, the price is almost the most expensive in the entire valley as well.
The slopes are all for lower intermediate to beginners.
Gains the 2nd star for the large space and relatively fast lift speed.
Never visiting again.

Nice ski and snowboard area for beginners and intermediate riders with a good selection of forest and deep powder snow areas for the pros. Always nice to come here.

Beautiful place and best place for ski. Staf so kind and helpfull if we need something. Don’t worry if you can’t ski, this place have many level for ski from begginer to expert. And the last, don’t forget use sunblock !

Second time here and despite the globally slow start to winter throughout the Japan, we were fortunate to get a good amount of snow this past weekend. Very good intermediate and beginner runs. The runs in general and by comparison to other resorts are wide which is helpful if you’re just starting out or if it is quite crowded.
The infrastructure is dated and dining / nightlife options in town are limited compared to Happo.

This is my favorite resort in Hakuba Valley. Parking is tight with very few spaces, but the mountain is nice and sits higher than most others, so snow keeps better. And it is big enough to have good runs for the whole family. Quite a few restaurants scattered throughout the resort are mostly ok but none are great. Really great find that anyone skiing Hakuba Valley should check out.

Great mountain for beginners and intermediate skiers and boarders. Lots of school options, ski in/out accommodations and a kids play area make this a fun place. There was little snow when we went and it was getting warm (2/21 and 3/2-) but could see how awesome it would be. Gondola has u/down access and plenty on blue/green runs for top to bottom.
AWESOME park with its own dedicated chair as well.

This is a great place for beginners. There are lots of choices. They even have a beginner run that starts up at the top of the gondola and weaves its way down through the forest. It was lots of fun.
We were there late in the season but there was still enough snow to have a good time.
Jesse Eriksen — Google review
The resort opens until the last day of golden week. We went there for 4 days when it wasn’t crowded anymore. The view was great with decent quality of snow. It should have been must better if we visited during winter. Will surely come back !

Get to Jackie's and get your wristband on a non-powder day to save time for the day you care about.
Great side county access and tree runs.
The bottom is a huge beginner area and I think most of the writeups on the internet are about that space. You can do laps on the top half of the mountain in good terrain.
It's a resort for two distinctly different demographics both served well. If you are advanced skiier/rider don't miss.

It's a beautiful place where waterfowl gather before the snow cover and hosts an exciting fire festival with stunning fireworks display. The surrounding scenery is picturesque and perfect for capturing memorable moments.
